Abstract
Guaianolide dimers represent a unique class of natural products with anticancer activities, but their low content in plants has limited in-depth pharmacological studies. Lavandiolide I is a guaianolide dimer isolated from Artemisia species, and had been synthesized on a ten-gram scale in four steps with 60 % overall yield, which showed potent antihepatoma activity on the HepG2, Huh7, and SK-Hep-1 cell lines with IC50 values of 12.1, 18.4, and 17.6 µM, respectively. To explore more active dimers, 33 lavandiolide I derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their inhibitory activity on human hepatoma cell lines. Among them, 10 derivatives were more active than lavandiolide I and sorafenib on the three cell lines. The primary structure-activity relationship concluded that the introduction of aldehyde, ester, azide, amide, carbamate and urea functional groups at C-14' of the guaianolide dimer significantly enhanced the antihepatoma activity. Among these compounds, derivatives 25, 27, and 33 enhanced antihepatoma activity more than 1.2-5.8 folds than that of lavandiolide I, and demonstrated low toxicity to the human liver cell lines (THLE-2) and good safety profiles with selective index ranging from 1.3 to 3.4, while lavandiolide I was more toxic to THLE-2 cells. This work provides new insights into enhancing the antihepatoma efficacy and reducing the toxicity of sesquiterpenoid dimers.

Abstract
Artemyriantholides A-K (1-11) as well as 14 known compounds (12-25) were isolated from Artemisia myriantha var. pleiocephala (Asteraceae). The structures and absolute configuration of compounds 2 and 8-9 were confirmed by the single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses, and the others were elucidated by MS, NMR spectral data and electronic circular dichroism calculations. All compounds were chemically characterized as guaiane-type sesquiterpenoid dimers (GSDs). Compound 1 was the first example of the GSD fused via C-3/C-11' and C-5/C-13' linkages, and compounds 2 and 5 were rare GSDs containing chlorine atoms. Eleven compounds showed obvious inhibitory activity in HepG2, Huh7 and SK-Hep-1 cell lines by antihepatoma assay to provide the IC50 values ranging from 7.9 to 67.1 μM. Importantly, compounds 5 and 8 exhibited the best inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 14.2 and 18.8 (HepG2), 9.0 and 11.5 (Huh7), and 8.8 and 11.3 μM (SK-Hep-1), respectively. The target of compound 5 was predicted to be MAP2K2 by a computational prediction model. The interaction between compound 5 and MAP2K2 was conducted to give docking score of -9.0 kcal/mol by molecular docking and provide KD value of 43.7 μM by Surface Plasmon Resonance assay.

Abstract
Objective: To comprehensively understand the disease burden of liver cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases caused by alcohol use in China from 1990 to 2019, as well as to predict the trends in disease burden from 2020 to 2030. Methods: The analysis utilized data from the Global Burden of Disease study in 2019 (GBD2019). Key indicators such as incidence rate, mortality rate, disability-adjusted life years (DALY), years of life lost due to premature mortality, and years lived with disability were selected to describe the disease burden of alcohol-related liver cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases in China from 1990 to 2019. The estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) was used to depict the temporal trends in disease burden. Furthermore, a Bayesian age-period-cohort (BAPC) model was constructed using R software to predict the age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) of alcohol-related liver cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases in China from 2020 to 2030. Results: From 1990 to 2019, the incidence of alcohol-related liver cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases in China showed an upward trend, with an EAPC of 0.31% (95%CI: 0.10%-0.52%). However, the DALY declined, with an EAPC of -2.81% (95%CI: -2.92% - -2.70%). The ASMR showed a downward trend, with an EAPC of -2.55% (95%CI: -2.66% - -2.45%). The highest incidence of cirrhosis of liver caused by alcohol and other chronic liver diseases was reported in the age group of 35-49 years, while the ASMR increased gradually with age, with a significant rise after the age of 30. The age-standardized DALY rate peaked between the ages of 55 and 64. The disease burden indicators for males were consistently higher than those for females during the same period. According to the predictions of the BAPC model, from 2020 to 2030, the ASIR for cirrhosis of liver caused by alcohol and other chronic liver diseases in the entire population of China was projected to increase from 3.45/100 000 in 2020 to 3.78/100 000 in 2030, a growth of 9.57%. Conversely, the ASMR was expected to decrease from 1.45/100 000 in 2020 to 1.24/100 000 in 2030, a reduction of 14.48%. Conclusions: The disease burden of cirrhosis of liver caused by alcohol and other chronic liver diseases remained serious in China, especially in men and the middle-aged to elderly population. There is a pressing need to prioritize attention and resources towards these groups. Despite the projected decrease in ASMR, the ASIR continued to rise and is expected to persist in its upward trend until 2030.

Abstract
Salicylic acid (SA) is one of the chemical molecules, involved in plant growth and immunity, thereby contributing to the control of pests and pathogens, and even applied in fruit and vegetable preservation. However, only a few tools have ever been designed or executed to understand the physiological processes induced by SA or its function in plant immunity and residue detection in food. Hence, three Rh6G-based fluorogenic chemosensors were synthesized to detect phytohormone SA based on the "OFF-ON" mechanism. The probes showed high selectivity, ultrafast response time (<60 s), and nanomolar detection limit for SA. Moreover, the probe possessed outstanding profiling that can be successfully used for SA imaging of callus and plants. Furthermore, the fluorescence pattern indicated that SA could occur in the distal transport in plants. These remarkable results contribute to improving our understanding of the multiple physiological and pathological processes involved in SA for plant disease diagnosis and for the development of immune activators. In addition, SA detection in some agricultural products used probes to extend the practical application because its use is prohibited in some countries and is harmful to SA-sensitized persons. Interestingly, the as-obtained test paper displayed that SA could be imaged by ultraviolet (UV) and was directly visible to the naked eye. Given the above outcomes, these probes could be used to monitor SA in vitro and in vivo, including, but not limited to, plant biology, food residue detection, and sewage detection.

Abstract
We introduce a LabVIEW-based control program that significantly improves the efficiency and flexibility in positioning and shooting solid targets in laser-plasma experiments. The hardware driven by this program incorporates a target positioning subsystem and an imaging subsystem, which enables us to install up to 400 targets for one experimental campaign and precisely adjust them in six freedom degrees. The overall architecture and the working modes of the control program are demonstrated in detail. In addition, we characterized the distributions of target positions of every target holder and simultaneously saved the target images, resulting in a large dataset that can be used to train machine learning models and develop image recognition algorithms. This versatile control system has become an indispensable platform when preparing and conducting laser-plasma experiments.

Abstract
Salicylic acid (SA) is a key hormone that regulates plant growth and immunity, and understanding the physiologic processes induced by SA enables the development of highly pathogen-resistant crops. Here, we report the synthesis of three new SA-sensors (R1-R3) from hydroxyphenol derivatives of a rhodamine-acylhydrazone scaffold and their characterization by NMR and HRMS. Spectroscopic analyses revealed that structural variations in R1-R3 resulted in sensors with different sensitivities for SA. Sensor R2 (with the 3-hydroxyphenyl modification) outperformed R1 (2-hydroxyphenyl) and R3 (4-hydroxyphenyl). The SA-detection limit of R2 is 0.9 μM with an ultra-fast response time (<60 s). In addition, their plant imaging indicated that designed sensor R2 is useful for the further study of SA biology and the discovery and development of new inducers of plant immunity.

Abstract
Wing polyphenism is found in a variety of insects and offers an attractive model system for studying the evolutionary significance of dispersal. The Forkhead box O (FoxO) transcription factor (TF) acts as a wing-morph switch that directs wing buds developing into long-winged (LW) or short-winged morphs in wing-dimorphic planthoppers, yet the regulatory mechanism of the FoxO module remains elusive. Here, we identified the zinc finger TF rotund as a potential wing-morph regulator via transcriptomic analysis and phenotypic screening in the brown plathopper, Nilaparvata lugens. RNA interference-mediated knockdown of rotund antagonized the LW development derived from in the context of FoxO depletion or the activation of the insulin/insulin-like growth factor signaling cascade, reversing long wings into intermediate wings. In vitro binding assays indicated that rotund physically binds to FoxO to form the FoxO combinatorial code. These findings broaden our understanding of the complexity of transcriptional regulation governing wing polyphenism in insects.

Abstract
Artemyrianolide H (AH) is a germacrene-type sesquiterpenolid isolated from Artemisia myriantha, and showed potent cytotoxicity against three human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines HepG2, Huh7, and SK-Hep-1 with IC50 values of 10.9, 7.2, and 11.9 µM, respectively. To reveal structure-activity relationship, 51 artemyrianolide H derivatives including 19 dimeric analogs were designed, synthesized, and assayed for their cytotoxicity against three human hepatoma cell lines. Among them, 34 compounds were more active than artemyrianolide H and sorafenib on the three cell lines. Especially, compound 25 exhibited the most promising activity with IC50 values of 0.7 (HepG2), 0.6 (Huh7), and 1.3 µM (SK-Hep-1), which were 15.5, 12.0, and 9.2-fold higher than that of AH and 16.4, 16.3 and 17.5-fold higher than that of sorafenib. Cytotoxicity evaluation on normal human liver cell lines (THLE-2) demonstrated good safety profile of compound 25 with SI of 1.9 (HepG2), 2.2 (Huh 7) and 1.0 (SK-Hep1). Further studies revealed that compound 25 dose-dependently arrested cells at G2/M phase which was correlated with the up-regulation of both cyclin B1 and p-CDK1, and induced apoptosis through the activation of mitochondrial pathways in HepG2 cells. In addition, the migratory and invasive abilities in HepG2 cells after treatment with 1.5 μM of compound 25 were decreased by 89% and 86% with the increase of E-cadherin expression accompanied by the decrease of N-cadherin, vimentin expression. Bioinformatics analysis based on machine learning predicted that PDGFRA and MAP2K2 might be acting targets of compound 25, and SPR assays demonstrated compound 25 were bound with PDGFRA and MAP2K2 with KD value of 0.168 nM, and 8.49 µM, respectively. This investigation proposed that compound 25 might be considered as a promising lead compound for the development of antihepatoma candidate.

Abstract
Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) has three public health systems under different systems, which plays an important role in the construction of the public health system in China. Further strengthening the construction of the public health system in the GBA will play an important reference role in the optimization and upgrade of China's public health system in the future. Based on the key consulting project of "research on the strategy of the modern public health system and capacity building in China" by Chinese Academy of Engineering, this paper deeply analyzes the current status and existing problems of public health system construction in GBA and suggests to improve and innovate the mechanisms of collaborative prevention and control of public health risks, resource coordination and joint research and result sharing, information sharing and exchange, personnel training and team building in order to comprehensively improve the capacity of public health system in GBA, and promote the construction of Healthy China.

Abstract
Bioassay-guided investigation of the active fraction of Artemisia princeps led to 13 undescribed sesquiterpenoid dimers, artemiprinolides A-M (1-13), together with 11 known ones (14-24). Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic data and absolute configurations were assigned based on single crystal X-ray diffraction data and ECD calculations. Structurally, all compounds were postulated to be derived from the Diels-Alder cycloaddition. The isolated dimers except 11 and 15 were assayed for their cytotoxicity against HepG2, Huh7, and SK-Hep-1 cell lines, of which four compounds (3, 13, 17, 18) exhibited obvious cytotoxicity with IC50 values ranging from 8.8 to 20.1 μM. Interestingly, the most active compounds 1 and 16 manifested significant cytotoxicity on the three tested hepatoma cell lines with IC50 values of 5.4, 4.1 (HepG2), 7.7, 5.6 (Huh7), and 11.8, 15.7 μM (SK-Hep-1), respectively, which were better than sorafenib. Compound 1 dose-dependently inhibited cell migration and invasion, and significantly induced the HepG2 cell arrest in G2/M phase by downregulating cdc2 and pcdc2 and upregulating cyclinB1; and induced apoptosis by downregulating Bcl-2 expression and upregulating Bax level. The molecular docking study implied that the carbonyl at the C-12' of 1 had a strong binding affinity with PRKACA.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the impact of environmental temperature exposure on eczema visits. Methods: Eczema clinic data from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019 were collected from the Huizhou Dermatology Hospital, and data on meteorological factors (average daily temperature and relative humidity) for the same period were derived from 86 meteorological stations of the Guangdong Provincial Climate Center. A distributed lag nonlinear model (DLNM) was used to assess the lagged effect of environmental temperature exposure on eczema, and a natural smooth spline function was used to control the nonlinear confounding of humidity. Results: There were 254 053 eczema outpatient visits at the Huizhou Dermatology Hospital within four years, with an average of 173.89 visits per day. The relationship between daily average temperature and the number of visits was non-linear (U shape). The risk of eczema increased by 2.20% (1.19%-3.21%) for every 1 ℃ decrease for the low temperature, and increased by 2.35% (1.24%-3.5%) for every 1 ℃ increase for the high temperature. The effect of high temperature was greater than that of low temperature. In all cases, 1.60% (0.44%-2.68%) of eczema outpatient visits were attributed to low temperature and the attributable number was 4 065 (1 128-6 798), while 6.33% (1.40%-10.87%) of eczema outpatient visits were due to high temperature and the attributable number was 16 082 (3 557-27 616). Conclusion: Both high temperature and low temperature are associated with increased risk of eczema.

Abstract
A random bioassay revealed that the EtOH extract and EtOAc fraction of Artemisia dubia Wall. (Asteraceae) exhibited cytotoxic activity against HepG2 cells with inhibitory ratios of 57.1% and 84.2% at a concentration of 100.0 μg/mL. Bio-guided isolation combined by LC-MS-IT-TOF analyses of the active fractions led to the isolation of 20 previously undescribed guaiane-type sesquiterpenoid dimers named artemidubolides A-T (1-20). Their structures and the absolute configurations were determined by comprehensive spectral analyses, comparison of the experimental and calculated ECD spectra, and seven compounds (artemidubolides A, B, D, F, K, O and R) were confirmed unequivocally by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Structurally, artemidubolides A-Q were [4 + 2] Diels-Alder adducts of two monomeric guaianolides, and artemidubolides R-T were linked though an ester bond. All the isolated compounds were evaluated for their hepatomatic cytotoxicity against HepG2, Huh7, and SK-Hep-1 cell lines to demonstrate that 18 compounds exhibited obvious cytotoxicity against three tested hepatoma cell lines with IC50 values in the range of 5.4-87.6 μM. Importantly, artemidubolides B, D, and M exhibited hepatoma cytotoxicity with IC50 values of 5.4, 5.7, and 9.7 (HepG2), 8.2, 4.3, and 12.2 (Huh7), and 13.4, 8.4, and 12.9 μM (SK-Hep-1), respectively. Mechanism investigation in HepG2 cells suggested the most active artemidubolide D dose-dependently inhibited cell migration and invasion, induced G1/M cell cycle arrest by down-regulating proteins CDK4, CDK6 and CyclinD1 and up-regulating the level of protein P21; and induced apoptosis by down-regulated of PARP-1 and BCL-2 expression and up-regulating Bax and cleaved PARP-1 levels.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the clinical characteristics of children with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infection imported from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Methods: This retrospective study was conducted to collect the data including clinical manifestations, outcomes and vaccination of 107 children with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infection imported from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to be admitted to the designated referral hospital in Shanghai from February to March 2022. According to the occurrence of clinical symptoms, the cases were divided into asymptomatic group and symptomatic group. According to the age of diagnosis, the cases were divided into <3 years group, 3-<6 years group and 6-<18 years group, and the clinical manifestations in different age group were analyzed with t-test and Mann-Whitney rank-sum test. Besides, to analyze the effectiveness of vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infection in different age group, the cases aged 3-<18 years were also subdivided into unvaccinated group, 1-dose group and 2-dose group, and the relative risk (RR) was used to demonstrate the effectiveness. Results: Among the 107 cases, 66 were male and 41 were female, with infection age of 10 (5, 14) years. There were 29 cases in the asymptomatic group, and 78 cases in the symptomatic group, and no significant difference in the age of infection was observed between the 2 groups (11 (6, 14) vs. 10 (5, 14) years, Z=0.49, P>0.05). And there were no severe cases in symptomatic group. The length of hospitalization was (18±6) days, and was longer in symptomatic group than that in asymptomatic group ((19±6) vs. (16±7) d, t=0.17, P=0.030). Eight-two cases (76.6%) had a history of epidemiological exposure and, among whom, 81 cases (75.7%) were associated with household transmission. Among symptomatic group, 57 cases (73.1%) had fever and 20 cases (25.6%) had cough. Of the 74 cases undergoing chest CT examination, 17 cases (23.0%) showed mild abnormalities. Of the 83 cases who received the lab tests, 23 cases (27.7%) had white blood cell counts<4×109/L, 3 cases (3.6%) had C-reaction protein >8.0 mg/L, and 6 cases (7.2%) had slightly elevated aspartate transaminase and alanine aminotransferase. Among the 92 children aged 3-<18 years, 31 cases were unvaccinated, 34 cases received 1 dose, and 27 cases received 2 doses. The interval between the last vaccination and infection was 2.2 (0.6, 6.0) months; the interval between the last vaccination and infection in the 2-dose group was longer than that in 1-dose group (6.0 (4.5, 7.3) vs. 0.7 (0.3,2.0) months, Z=3.59, P<0.001).The risk of symptomatic infection was reduced by 45% (RR=0.55, 95% CI 0.35-0.87) with two-dose vaccination compared to non-vaccination in cases aged 3-<18 years. All these cases recovered completely. Conclusions: Children infected with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron are usually mild or asymptomatic. Household transmission is the main pattern of infection with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron in children. Two-dose SARS-CoV-2 vaccination in children aged 3-<18 years can provide partial protection against disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 Omicron.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing in the world, the risk of COVID-19 spread from other countries or in the country will exist for a long term in China. In the routine prevention and control phase, a number of local COVID-19 epidemics have occurred in China, most COVID-19 cases were sporadic ones, but a few case clusters or outbreaks were reported. Winter and spring were the seasons with high incidences of the epidemics; border and port cities had higher risk for outbreaks. Active surveillance in key populations was an effective way for the early detection of the epidemics. Through a series of comprehensive prevention and control measures, including mass nucleic acid screening, close contact tracing and isolation, classified management of areas and groups at risk, wider social distancing and strict travel management, the local COVID-19 epidemics have been quickly and effectively controlled. The experiences obtained in the control of the local epidemics would benefit the routine prevention and control of COVID-19 in China. The occurrence of a series of COVID-19 case clusters or outbreaks has revealed the weakness or deficiencies in the COVID-19 prevention and control in China, so this paper suggests some measures for the improvement of the future prevention and control of COVID-19.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of refractory ceramic fibers (RCFs) on the serum Clara cell protein 16 (CC16) and surfactant protein D (SP-D) levels in Wistar rats. Methods: In October 2020, 96 healthy adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group (equal volume of normal saline) , low-dose group (5 mg/ml RCFs) , medium-dose group (10 mg/ml RCFs) and high-dose group (20 mg/ml RCFs) , and subjected to non-exposure tracheal instillation. After intraperitoneal anesthesia, the rats were instilled with 200 μl of RCFs suspension or normal saline, once every 3 days for a total of 4 times. At 7, 14, 28, and 90 days after exposure, 6 rats were sacrificed by blood sampling through the abdominal aorta. The organs were separated, histopathological changes of lungs were observed and lung injury scores were performed. The contents of serum CC16 and SP-D were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) . Results: RCFs could cause inflammatory cells in rat lung tissues, widening of the lung septum and destruction of alveolar structure. 7 days after exposure, the lung injury scores of rats in each dose group were higher than control group, and the lung injury score of the high-dose group was higher than low-dose group (P<0.05) . 14 and 90 days after exposure, the lung injury scores of the medium-dose and high-dose groups were higher than control group (P<0.05) . 28 days after exposure, the lung injury score of the high-dose group was higher than control group (P<0.05) . 7 days after exposure, the serum CC16 and SP-D concentrations of rats in the medium-dose and high-dose groups were significantly higher than control and low-dose groups (P<0.05) . 28 days after exposure, the serum CC16 concentrations of rats in the low-dose and medium-dose groups were significantly lower than those of the control and high-dose groups (P<0.05) . After 90 days of exposure, the serum CC16 concentrations of rats decreased with the increase of the exposure dose (F=28.853, P<0.01) , and the concentrations of SP-D increased with the increase of the exposure dose (F=25.636, P<0.01) . Conclusion: RCFs exposure may cause certain damage to rat Clara cells and alveolar-capillary barrier. The severity of lung injury can be indirectly understood through the dynamic changes of serum CC16 and SP-D.

Abstract
Objective: To identify the threshold of a health warning system based on the association of apparent temperature and years of life lost (YLL). Methods: Daily mortality records and meteorological data were collected from 364 Chinese counties for 2006-2017. Distributed lag nonlinear model and multivariate Meta-analyses were applied to estimate the association between the apparent temperature and YLL rate. A regression tree model was employed to estimate the warning thresholds of the apparent temperature. Stratified analyses were further conducted by age and cause of death. Results: The daily YLL rate was 23.6/105. The mean daily apparent temperature was 15.7 ℃. U-shaped nonlinear associations were observed between apparent temperature and YLL rate. The actual temperature-caused YLL rate for the elderly was higher than the young population. The daily excess deaths rate increased with the higher effect levels. Conclusions: Regression tree model was employed to define the warning threshold for meteorological health risk. The present study provides theoretical support for the weather-related health warning system.

Abstract
Objective: To determine the seroprevalence of celiac disease in susceptible population, and to analyze the relationship between demographic characteristics, dietary habits, lifestyle and serological positivity so as to provide guidance for the prevention and treatment of celiac disease in Southern China. Methods: A total of 1 273 individuals who participated in Guangdong Province Health Screening Program in 2015, were selected as serologically positive subjects of celiac disease, including people with irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, diarrhea, anemia, low BMI, short stature, type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis, psoriasis and bristol grade=6 or 7. All subjects were tested for serum IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (TTGA), IgA antibodies against deamidated gliadin peptides(DGPA) and IgG against deamidated gliadin peptides (DGPG). Dietary habits, lifestyle and demographic characteristics were compared in subgroups. Results: The seroprevalence of celiac disease in susceptible population was 0.94% (95%CI 0.54%-1.64%) including 0.08% (1/1 273) for TTGA, 0.47% (6/1 273) for DGPA, and 0.39% (5/1 273) for DGPG. The seropositive rate was 3.6% (1/28) in patients with psoriasis, 2.1% (2/95) in the low BMI group, 1.9% (1/53) in T1DM group, 1.8% (3/169) in diarrhea group and 1.1% (5/463) in RA group. No significant difference was found in age, gender, high carbohydrate diet or lifestyle between the negative and the positive subjects. Conclusions: In Southern China, the seropositive rate of celiac disease is 0.94% in susceptible population, which prompts an urgent need of serological screening for early diagnosis.

Abstract
Objective: To study the association between apparent temperature (AT) and the incidence of hand,foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) and its spatial heterogeneity in 46 cities in Guangdong, Anhui and Jilin provinces, and provide scientific evidence for the early warning of HFMD. Methods: The data of HFMD incidence and meteorological factors from 2009 to 2018 in Guangdong province, 2009 to 2015 in Anhui province, and 2013 to 2018 in Jilin province were collected. Distributed lag non-linear models were constructed to investigate the association between AT and the incidence of HFMD in 46 cities from three provinces in China. Meta-analysis was used to pool the city-specific estimates, and Meta-regression was applied to analyze the factors that may cause spatial heterogeneity. Results: The relationship between daily AT and the incidence of HFMD in 46 cities appeared nonlinear. The association in Guangdong was similar to that in Jilin, and the risk of HFMD increased with the increase of AT. While the risk of HFMD in Anhui first increased with the increase of AT, and peaked at 18.1 ℃ and then went down. AT on different levels showed different lag impacts and the higher AT showed greater and longer lag impact. The spatial heterogeneity of associations may have been caused by latitude, longitude, average temperature, and average sunshine hours. Conclusions: AT is a comprehensive index to evaluate the association between temperature, relative humidity and wind speed and the incidence of HFMD. Higher AT may increase the risk of HFMD. The AT and HFMD relationship across spatial heterogeneity varies depending on geographic location and meteorological conditions.

Abstract
Background Erectile dysfunction (ED) shares common risk factors with cardiovascular disease (CVD), such as diabetes mellitus (DM) and dyslipidemia, but the relationship between the risk factors of CVD in biochemical markers and young men with ED age 20–40 years is not fully clarified. Methods A total of 289 ED outpatients (20–40 years old) were allocated under ED group, based on patients’ complaints and physical examinations. According to the frequency matching ratio of 1:4, 1,155 male individuals (20–40 years old) without ED were set as control group. All participants were tested for lipid profiles including total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), blood glucose (BG), homocysteine (HCY), liver function including alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and renal function including uric acid (UA) and creatinine (CR). The study was designed to compare the two groups using an established binary logistic regression analysis model. The ED group was then subdivided into a younger ED group (20–30 years old) and an older ED group (31–40 years old) for further comparisons. Results After comparison, no obvious differences were found in medians of age, TC, TG, HDL, HCY, UA, and ALT in the two groups. Median LDL, BG, and CR were significantly higher and AST was much lower in the ED group (P<0.01). In binary logistic regression analysis, odds ratios (OR) for LDL, BG, CR, and AST were 1.279, 1.237, 1.026, and 0.978, respectively. The sensitivity value and specificity value were 43.25% and 72.56%, respectively. The medians of LDL, TG, and TC were higher and HDL was much lower in the older ED group, as compared with the younger group (P<0.05). No significant differences were displayed in medians of other biochemical markers in the above comparisons. Conclusions Elevated LDL, BG, and CR were related factors of ED in young men. Lipid profile was significantly different between young men with ED aged 20–30 and 31–40 years.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the cut-off point of aldosterone/direct renin ratio (ADRR) before drug washout in the screening for primary aldosteronism (PA) in the Chinese population and reduce the potential risk caused by drug washout during PA screening. Methods: Hospitalized hypertensive patients in the Hypertension Ward of Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January 2017 to October 2019 were enrolled. PA was diagnosed according to the criterion of 2016 American Guideline and 2016 Chinese Consensus for PA. The plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC), direct renin concentration (DRC) and ADRR before and after drug washout were measured. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of ADRR was drawn and the maximal Youden index was used to determine the best cut-off value. Results: A total of 542 hypertensive patients were included, with 467 patients diagnosed with essential hypertension (EHT) (297 males and 170 females), and 75 patients diagnosed with PA (51 males and 24 females). Patients with PA had higher PAC and ADRR before and after drug washout than those with EHT(150.0 (130.0, 210.0) vs 120.0 (80.0, 170.0) ng/L, 170.0 (120.0, 260.0) vs 130.0 (90.0, 180.0) ng/L; 28.9 (15.9, 63.5) vs 4.3 (1.9, 11.8) (ng/L) / (mU/L) , 55.6 (39.0, 109.0) vs 9.8 (4.5, 21.3) (ng/L) /(mU/L), all P<0.001). However, DRC of PA patients before and after washout were lower than those with EHT (4.0 (2.0, 10.0) vs 27.0 (10.0, 64.0) mU/L, 3.0 (2.0, 4.0) vs 12.2 (5.0, 27.0) mU/L, P<0.001). In EHT and PA groups, PAC and ADRR significantly increased (P=0.001, P<0.001) , but DRC significantly decreased after drug washout (all P<0.001) . The area under the ROC curve of ADRR before drug washout was 0.868 (95%CI 0.836-0.895) with the best cut-off value of 7.8 (ng/L) / (mU/L) for the screening of PA .The sensitivity and specificity was 94.7% and 66.8%, respectively, with the maximal Youden index of 0.615. Conclusion: ADRR before drug washout > 7.8 (ng/L) / (mU/L) can be used as an alternative cut-off point to screen PA when drug washout is not available.

Abstract
AIM To investigate the heterogeneity of enhancement kinetics for breast tumour in order to demonstrate the predictive power of dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features for distant metastasis (DM) in invasive breast cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS Time-signal intensity curve (TIC) patterns from 128 patients with invasive breast cancer were analysed by a pixel-based DCE-MRI analysis. This MRI technique enabled pixels with varying TIC patterns (persistent, plateau, washout and non-enhancement) to be categorised semi-automatically and the percentage of different TIC patterns in each breast tumour to be calculated. The percentage of TIC patterns was compared between the DM and non-DM groups. DM-free survival was estimated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. RESULTS This study demonstrated a larger percentage of persistent TIC and non-enhancement TIC was associated with DM in invasive breast cancer. The cut-off values of persistent TIC and non-enhancement TIC were 22.5% and 2.5%. Combining TIC patterns and traditional predictors (tumour size and axillary lymph node status) can improve the prediction efficiency. The multivariable model yielded an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.87 with 0.70 sensitivity and 0.87 specificity in leave-one-out cross-validation (LOOCV). These predictors showed significant differences in DM-free survival by Kaplan-Meier analysis. CONCLUSION This study shows that breast tumours with higher heterogeneity are more likely to metastasise, and pixel-based TIC analysis has utility in predicting distant metastasis of invasive breast cancer.

Abstract
Trust decisions are inherently uncertain, as people usually have incomplete information about the trustworthiness of the other person prior to their decision to trust or not trust. Therefore, it is typically beneficial to gather information about a trustee's past behaviour before deciding whether or not to trust them. However, elaborate inquiries about a trustee's behaviour may change the trustee's willingness to reciprocate, causing either a decrease due to the trustee's negative impressions of the investor or an increase because the investor appears to be highly betrayal-averse to the trustee. In turn, such a change could cause the investor to gather less or more information, respectively. Here, we examine how information acquisition is modulated by social context, monetary cost, and the trustee's trustworthiness. We gave participants the opportunity to sequentially sample information about a trustee's reciprocation history before they decided whether or not to invest. Participants sampled less when there was a monetary cost and when the gathered information was more conclusive. On some trials, we induced a social context by telling the participant that the trustee would learn how much the participant sampled ("overt sampling"). Crucially, when sampling was free, participants sampled less when sampling was overt than when it was covert, suggesting that they avoided leaving negative impressions. We find that the data were well accounted for by a Bayesian heuristic model, in which the agent continues sampling until uncertainty about trustworthiness-as measured by the width of the posterior belief-drops below a level that they find tolerable. This study opens the door to broader applications of the tools and models of information sampling to social decision-making.

Abstract
Objective To discuss the effects of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) exposure in e-waste dismantling region on the human body and provide data support for the identification of environmental health damage to residents in the e-waste dismantling region. Methods Adults in an e-waste dismantling region (exposed group, 54 participants) and a control region (control group, 58 participants) were selected, questionnaires were carried out and blood and urine samples were collected. Blood PBDEs, blood lipids, blood routine, blood lead, urine cadmium, urine chromium and urine nickel were detected. T-test was utilized to compare the differences of PBDEs between the two groups. Multivariate analysis were utilized to compare the differences between the two groups in blood routine indexes. Linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between PBDEs and blood routine. Results Exposure levels of PBDEs were significantly higher in the exposed group (240.00 ng/g, adjusted mass fraction of blood lipids, thereafter) than in the control group (93.00 ng/g, P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the differences in most blood routine indexes of the two groups ( P>0.05), and their reference values were all within normal ranges. Mean platelet volume, plateletcrit, basophils percentage, absolute value of basophils, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration were higher in the exposed group than in the control group (P<0.05). Platelet distribution widths were lower in the exposed group than in the control group and below the normal reference range (P<0.05). Conclusion PBDEs exposure in e-waste dismantling region tend to change platelet morphology, the number of basophils, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, and may pose potential health hazards to local residents.

Abstract
CD46 is an important immune regulatory receptor with multiple functions. However, studies on the function of teleost CD46, especially the different CD46 isoforms are limited. In this study, we identified three membrane cofactor protein (MCP, CD46) gene isoforms from ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis) and tentatively named as PaCD46 isoforms. PaCD46 isoforms were generated by alternative splicing and all consisted of four conserved short consensus repeats (SCRs), and the variable serine-threonine-proline-rich domain, transmembrane hydrophobic domain, and cytoplasmic tail. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the isoforms clustered together with other fish CD46 and then with higher animal CD46. Western blotting analysis of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) revealed three bands, all of which had much larger molecular weights than the theoretical values of the three PaCD46 isoforms. Moreover, three PaCD46 isoforms were individually expressed on HEK293 cells, and Western blotting showed the similar band profile to that of PBMC. The recombinant extracellular domain of the PaCD46 isoforms, obtained by expression in Pichia pastoris, significantly reduced hemolysis activity of ayu sera. Furthermore, each of the three PaCD46 isoforms respectively protected the HEK293 cells expressing the isoform. The isoforms were also identified for their protection of autologous PBMC from complement activation. These results provided the first evidence that PaCD46 isoforms may be complement regulatory proteins to prevent complement-induced damage to self-tissue.

Abstract
We comprehensively evaluated the sustainable development level in China from 2006 to 2016 based on emergy theory. According to the differences in the proportion of primary energy input, all the provinces in China were divided into four groups for inter-provincial comparison to further examine the impacts of primary energy input on the sustainable development. The results showed that under the high economic development, the continuous increase in the primary energy input rate enhanced the environmental load rate of Chinese eco-economic system from 2.78 to 3.13. Meanwhile, the increases in imports led to a decline in emergy yield rate and a decline in emergy sustainable index to 5.40. Results of inter-provincial comparison showed that the trend of emergy per area was generally consistent with the change in the primary energy input rate. Currently, economic development in most provinces was dependent on energy consumption. Among them, sustainable development in cities with dual characteristics of highly developed economics and significant environmental pressures was not optimistic, including Beijing and Shanghai. Provinces in southern China with lower energy input and higher emergy yield were stronger in sustainable development, with Jiangsu as the most representative province. Consequently, improving the efficiency of energy utilization in inland provinces, adjusting the mode of economic development and appropriately slowing down the intensity of economic development could fully alleviate the contradiction between economic growth and environmental protection, and thus steadily achieve sustainable development of ecology and economy.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the exported risk of COVID-19 from Hubei Province and the imported risk in various provinces across China. Methods: Data of reported COVID-19 cases and Baidu Migration Indexin all provinces of the country as of February 14, 2020 were collected. The correlation analysis between cumulative number of reported cases and the migration index from Hubei was performed, and the imported risks from Hubei to different provinces across China were further evaluated. Results: A total of 49 970 confirmed cases were reported nationwide, of which 37 884 were in Hubei Province. The average daily migration index from Hubei to other provinces was 312.09, Wuhan and other cities in Hubei were 117.95 and 194.16, respectively. The cumulative COVID-19 cases of provinces was positively correlated with the migration index derived from Hubei Province, also in Wuhan and other cities in Hubei, with correlation coefficients of 0.84, 0.84, and 0.81. In linear model, population migration from Hubei Province, Wuhan and other cities in Hubei account for 71.2%, 70.1%, and 66.3% of the variation, respectively. The period of high exported risk from Hubei occurred before January 27, of which the risks before January 23 mainly came from Wuhan, and then mainly from other cities in Hubei. Hunan Province, Henan Province and Guangdong Province ranked the top three in terms of cumulative imported risk (the cumulative risk indices were 58.61, 54.75 and 49.62 respectively). Conclusion: The epidemic in each province was mainly caused by the importation of Hubei Province. Taking measures such as restricting the migration of population in Hubei Province and strengthening quarantine measures for immigrants from Hubei Province may greatly reduce the risk of continued spread of the epidemic.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics caused by acute poisoning by inhalation of hydrogen chloride (HCl) and to raise awareness and treatment level of the disease. Methods: The clinical manifestations, imaging features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of 5 patients with acute HCl poisoning were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among the 5 cases of HCl poisoning, 2 cases were severe poisoning, 3 cases were moderate poisoning. All patients were treated with corticosteroids and symptomatic treatment, one of them was treated with venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) . All patients were recovered and discharged from hospital. Conclusion: The lung damage of acute poisoning by inhalation of HCl is rapidly progressing, early detection and timely medical treatment can obtain a better prognosis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To search for specific protein makers and target proteins for intervention with Yimusake Tablets (YT) in the penile tissue of rats with ED induced by compound cold stress and explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of ED. METHODS Eighty adult male rats were screened and divided into three groups, normal control (n = 10), ED model control (n = 15) and YT intervention (n = 15). The model of compound cold stress-induced ED was established in the latter two groups, and meanwhile the animals in the YT intervention group were treated with oral YT for 2 weeks. After that, proteins were extracted from the penile tissues of the rats for screening and identification by iTRAQ labeling combined with LC-MS-MS proteomics, and the IPA bioinformatics software was used for analysis of differentially expressed proteins. RESULTS A total of 48 differentially expressed proteins were identified from the penile tissue of the ED model controls, of which 18 were associated with endothelial function, 5 with smooth muscle activity and 4 with inflammation, involving the biological processes of glucose metabolism and alcohol catabolism and the signaling pathways of glucose metabolism, calcium and RXR activation. In comparison, 29 differentially expressed proteins were identified from the rats in the YT intervention group, of which 5 were associated with endothelial function, 1 with smooth muscle activity and 4 with inflammation, involving the biological processes of glucose metabolism, vasodilation and acute-phase response and the signaling pathways glucose metabolism, RXR activation and acute-phase response. Seven ED-associated candidate biomarkers were obtained from the differentially expressed proteins in the ED model control and YT intervention group, including Collagen alpha-1(III) chain(COL3α1), Collagen alpha-1(I) chain(COL1α1), Collagen alpha-2(I) chain(COL1α2), Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase(GAPDH), T-kininogen 1(MAP1),Biglycan(BGN), and Myosin-11(MYH11). CONCLUSIONS Changes of vascular endothelial and smooth muscle functions in the penile tissue are likely to be the key mechanisms underlying the development and progression of compound stress-induced ED, which is also associated with inflammation as well as the interaction of the identified differentially expressed proteins and their participation in the relevant signaling pathways. The 7 proteins obtained can be used as the markers of compound stress-induced ED in the rat penile tissue, of which MAP1, GAPDH, BGN and MYH11 may serve as target proteins for YT intervention.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the association between long-term exposure to ambient PM(2.5) combined with indoor air pollution and handgrip strength among people aged 50 and over. Methods: Data were from the first wave of World Health Organization Study on global AGEing and adult health in China. Ambient annual concentration of PM(2.5) was estimated by using the satellite data we also investigated the use of fuels and chimneys as indoor air pollution. A two-level (individual level and community level) linear model was applied to examine the association between long-term exposure to ambient PM(2.5) combined with indoor air pollution and the handgrip strength. Results: A total of 13 175 individuals aged 50 years and over were included for analysis. The handgrip strength was (26.67±0.54) kg. Ambient PM(2.5) was found to be significantly associated with the risk of decreased handgrip strength. Outdoor PM(2.5) concentration was negatively correlated with handgrip strength (β=-0.23, 95%CI: -0.31 - -0.14) decrease in handgrip strength after adjusting for gender, age, residence, education, household assets, intake of vegetables and fruits, smoking and drinking, physical activity. In rural area, compared to those who used solid fuel, use of clean fuel increased (β=1.41, 95%CI: 0.36-2.46) handgrip strength. But in urban area, we did not find any statistically significant association between the use of clean fuel and handgrip strength (β=0.19, 95%CI: -0.95-1.32). Conclusion: This study found that long-term exposure to ambient PM(2.5) combined with indoor air pollution was significantly associated with low handgrip strength among people aged 50 years and over, this suggested that ambient PM(2.5) might serve as one of the risk factors for low physical function seen in the people aged 50 years and over.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To identify differentially expressed proteins in the sperm of oligoasthenozoospermia (OAZ) patients and provide some theoretical evidence for the study of OAZ. METHODS We collected semen samples from 30 OAZ patients and another 30 normal healthy males. Using the tandem mass tag (TMT) and proteomic technology, we identified differentially expressed proteins in the sperm of the OAZ patients and normal subjects, followed by gene ontology (GO) analysis and bioinformatics analysis of the Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) signaling pathways. RESULTS A total of 1 199 differentially expressed sperm proteins were obtained from the semen samples of the subjects by proteomic technology, of which 663 were up-regulated and 536 down-regulated. GO analysis preliminarily indicated that the differential proteins played a leading role in the composition and function of the ribosome, while KEGG pathway analysis showed that the differential proteins were involved in 244 signaling pathways. CONCLUSIONS Differentially expressed proteins in the sperm of OAZ patients involve complex biological processes, molecular functions and signaling pathways, and proteomic screening and bioinformatics analysis are helpful for the study of the pathogenesis of oligoasthenozoospermia.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of different antimicrobial regimens in patients with bloodstream infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP). Methods: The clinical date of patients with CRKP bloodstream infections were retrospectively analyzed at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University Medical College between January 2017 and January 2018. All subjects were separated into three groups based on antibiotics regimens over 72 hours, including meropenem 2.0 g every 8 hours, tigecycline 200 mg as initial dose and 100 mg every 12 hours, and polymyxin B 1.25 mg/kg every 12 hours as salvage treatment of tigecycline. Results: A total of 86 patients were finally recruited, including 14, 52 and 20 patients in groups of meropenem, tigecycline and polymyxin B salvage, respectively. All of the strains were resistant to meropenem and susceptible to tigecycline and polymyxin B initially, while 2 of them became resistant to tigecycline during treatment. The 28-day mortality was significantly higher in meropenem group (13/14) than that in tigecycline group and polymyxin B salvage group (61.5%, 32/52) and (12/20), respectively (P<0.01), while as no significant difference was seen in the last two groups (χ(2)=0.014, P>0.05). The incidences of hepatic impairment [3.8%(2/52) vs. 1/20] and renal dysfunction (0 vs. 1/20) between tigecycline group and polymyxin B salvage group were both comparable (P>0.05). Conclusion: The meropenem-based therapy is not recommended for CRKP-related bloodstream infections. Tigecycline-based therapy is still disappointing despite salvage use of polymyxin B after 72 hours. Hepatic and nephretic toxicities caused by additional polymyxin B are acceptable.

Abstract
Objective: To identify the definition of heat wave based on mortality risk assessment in different regions of China. Methods: Daily mortality (from China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention) and meteorological data (from National Meteorological Information Center in China) from 66 counties with a population of over 200 000 were collected from 2006-2011. With the consideration of climate type and administrative division, China was classified as seven regions. Firstly, distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was used to estimate community-specific effects of temperature on non-accidental mortality. Secondly, a multivariate meta-analysis was applied to pool the estimates of community-specific effects to explore the region-specific temperature threshold and the duration for definition of heat wave. Results: We defined regional heat wave of Northeast, North, Northwest, East, Central and Southwest China as being two or more consecutive days with daily mean temperature higher than or equal to the P(64), P(71), P(85), P(67), P(75) and P(77) of warm season (May to October) temperature, respectively, while the thresholds of temperature were 21.6, 23.7, 24.3, 25.7, 28.0 and 25.3 ℃. The heat wave in South China was defined as five or more consecutive days with daily mean temperature higher than or equal to the P(93) (30.4 ℃) of warm season (May to October) temperature. Conclusion: The region-specific definition of heat wave developed in our study may provide local government with the guidance of establishment and implementation of early heat-health response systems to address the negative health outcomes due to heat wave.

Abstract
The radiochromic film (RCF) is a high-dose, high-dynamic range dosimetry detection medium. A stack of RCFs can be used to detect both spatial and energetic distribution of laser driven ion beams with a large divergence angle and continuous energy spectrum. Two types of RCFs (HD-V2 and MD-V3, from Radiation Products Design, Inc.) have been calibrated using MeV energy protons and carbon ions produced by using a 2 × 6 MV tandem electrostatic accelerator. The proportional relationship is obtained between the optical density and the irradiation dose. For protons, the responses are consistent at all energies with a variation of about 15%. For carbon ions, the responses are energy related, which should be noted for heavy ion detection. Based on the calibration, the broad energy spectrum and charge distribution of laser accelerated proton beam with energy from 3 to 8 MeV and pC charge were detected and reconstructed at the Compact LAser Plasma Accelerator at Peking University.

Abstract
A novel approach is proposed to demonstrate the two-photon Breit-Wheeler process by using collimated and wide-bandwidth γ-ray pulses driven by 10-PW lasers. Theoretical calculations suggest that more than 3.2×10^{8} electron-positron pairs with a divergence angle of 7° can be created per shot, and the signal-to-noise ratio is higher than 10^{3}. The positron signal, which is roughly 100 times higher than the detection limit, can be measured by using the existing spectrometers. This approach, which could demonstrate the e^{-}e^{+} pair creation process from two photons, would provide important tests for two-photon physics and other fundamental physical theories.

Abstract
We report the experimental generation of highly energetic carbon ions up to 48 MeV per nucleon by shooting double-layer targets composed of well-controlled slightly underdense plasma and ultrathin foils with ultraintense femtosecond laser pulses. Particle-in-cell simulations reveal that carbon ions are ejected from the ultrathin foils due to radiation pressure and then accelerated in an enhanced sheath field established by the superponderomotive electron flow. Such a cascaded acceleration is especially suited for heavy ion acceleration with femtosecond laser pulses. The breakthrough of heavy ion energy up to many tens of MeV/u at a high repetition rate would be able to trigger significant advances in nuclear physics, high energy density physics, and medical physics.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the correlation between breast density and breast cancer molecular subtype. Methods: The data of 1 407 cases of breast cancer immunohistochemistry and preoperative mammography in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from August 2015 to August 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. All cases were divided into four groups: <45 years old, 45-54 years old, 55-64 years old and ≥ 65 years old, and all groups were divided into four molecular subtypes: Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-enriched and triple-negative according to immunohistochemical results. Person correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between breast density and age; Kruskal-Wallis test was used to analyze the difference in breast density between different molecular subtypes. Results: There was a negative correlation between breast density and age (r=-0.55, P<0.01). Descriptive analysis results showed that the mean breast density of<45 years old, 45-54 years old, 55-64 years old and ≥65 years old was 20.0%±7.3%, 16.2%±8.4%, 10.5%±5.2%, and 7.9%±3.2%, respectively. The mean breast density of Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-enriched and triple-negative was 14.0%±8.1%, 14.5%±7.6%, 14.8%±7.7% and 13.2%±7.3%, respectively. Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant statistical differences in breast density among molecular subtypes in the group of<45 years old (P<0.05), while no statistical significance in other groups (all P>0.05). Conclusion: There is correlation between breast density and breast cancer molecular subtype in young patients, but whether breast density has a potential evaluation effect on breast cancer molecular subtype still needs to be further studied.

Abstract
Objective: To estimate the incidence and distribution characteristics of fall related injury in people aged ≥50 years in 8 provinces in China and related physiological, psychological and social risk factors. Methods: Cross-sectional data were collected from adults aged ≥50 years participating in the World Health Organization (WHO) study on global ageing and adult health (SAGE) round 1 in China. Two-level hierarchical logistic model was used to identify the related factors for fall-related injury. All the models were stratified by living area (urban/rural). Results: Estimated incidence of fall related injury (road traffic injury was not included) was 3.2%. Ageing and multiple chronic conditions (OR=2.55, 95%CI: 1.41-4.64) was significantly associated with the incidence of fall related injury in urban area. In rural area, depression (OR=4.33, 95% CI: 2.52-7.42) and multiple chronic conditions (OR=2.46, 95%CI: 1.37-4.41) were associated with the incidence of fall related injury. Conclusions: This study estimated the incidence of fall related injury in adults aged ≥50 years in 8 provinces in China. A significant association between multiple chronic conditions and fall related injury were found in both urban and rural residents. Targeted measures should be taken for the prevention and control of chronic diseases in elderly population.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the pathogenesis of young and middle-aged stroke patients with patent foramen ovale (PFO) by analyzing clinical characteristics. Methods: Data of 298 consecutive young and middle-aged patients diagnosed as stroke were retrospectively collected from Department of Neurology, Beijing Anzhen Hospital from January 2010 to January 2017.Patients were divided into cryptogenic stroke (CS) group and not-CS group.Risk factors, characteristics of PFO and infarct of imaging were analyzed between two groups. Results: PFO was confirmed in 88 patients among 298 young and middle-aged stroke patients.The prevalence of PFO was 29.6%. Forty-six patients were assigned into CS group and 42 patients were assigned into not-CS group.The ratio of atrial fibrillation and internal carotid artery stenosis in CS group was lower than that in not-CS group (0 vs 12, 4 vs 22, P<0.05). The concentration of homocysteine was lower in CS group than that in not-CS group [(10.4±1.1) mmol/L vs(14.6±2.4) mmol/L, P<0.05]. The difference of migraine and scores of scale of Risk of Paradoxical Embolism (RoPE) in CS group were significantly higher than those in not-CS group [18 vs 4, (6.8±2.5)vs (5.5±1.4), P<0.05]. The prevalence of big PFO, constant right-to-left shunt and atrial septal aneurysm (ASA) in CS group was higher than that in not-CS group (26 vs 6, 36 vs 18, 5 vs 0, P<0.05). Post-circulation location, single cortex infarction and multiple infarctions in multiple vascular areas are indicative of PFO (25 vs 18, 15 vs 7, 20 vs 8, P<0.05). Conclusion: Migraine, high scores of RoPE, big PFO, constant RLS and ASA are indicative of important role of PFO in cryptogenic stroke in young and middle-aged patients.The imaging characteristics of CS with PFO should be emphasized.

Abstract
Various hydrological models have been applied to the management of water resources and water quality. However, parameter uncertainty is of perpetual interest in the application of hydrological models. In this context, the HSPF model was constructed and calibrated using monthly observed stream data from 1998 to 2010 in the Chaohe River watershed, northeast of Beijing. Specifically, the sensitivity and uncertainty of the model parameters were investigated by the GLUE algorithm with the PEST platform. The major results were illustrated as follows:① the hydrological simulation shows good performance with Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency of 0.84 and 0.55 in the period of calibration and validation, respectively; ② the parameters were divided into three categories:global sensitive parameters (LZSN, INFILT, IRC, and AGWRC), regional sensitive parameters (UZSN), and non-sensitive parameters (DEEPFR, BASETP, AGWEPT, INTFW, and CEPSC); ③ strong correlations were detected within the sensitive parameters, which further involved significant negative correlations (LZSN~INFILT, INFILT~UZSN, and UZSN~AGWRC) and a positive correlation (LZSN~UZSN) and (UZSN~AGWRC); ④ the equifinality for different parameters was found in the HSPF model, indicating that parameter sets determine the simulation performance rather than individual parameters; ⑤ among various external factors, precipitation was identified as the most important condition for simulation uncertainty; and ⑥ the temporal difference in simulation performance was considered using annual, seasonal, and monthly scales with simulation precisions of 81.80%, 78.70%, and 80.56%, implying that the annual scale might be the optimal simulation period with higher accuracy. This research result is useful for the application and localization of the HSPF model.

Abstract
The short-chain pentraxins (PTXs), including C-reactive protein (CRP) and serum amyloid P (SAP), are soluble pattern recognition molecules (PRMs) that exhibit calcium-dependent binding to bacterial surface molecules. They opsonize pathogens or other particles by phagocytic clearance. However, the detailed functions of short-chain PTXs in teleosts remained unclear. In this study, we identified a short-chain PTX gene from ayu, Plecoglossus altivelis, and tentatively named as PaCRP/SAP. Sequence analysis revealed that PaCRP/SAP has typical characteristics of fish CRP/SAP and is mostly closely related to rainbow smelt (Osmerus mordax) SAP. PaCRP/SAP transcripts were detected in all tested tissues, with the highest level in the liver, and its expression significantly upregulated following Vibrio anguillarum infection. The active recombinant mature PaCRP/SAP (rPaCRP/SAPm) agglutinated Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, V. anguillarum, Aeromonas hydrophila, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus) and Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes) in a calcium-dependent manner in vitro, and it correspondingly bound peptidoglycan and lipopolysaccharide in a dose-dependent manner. The binding of rPaCRP/SAPm to E. coli and S. aureus resulted in a clear inhibition of the deposition of ayu complement 3 (PaC3) on the bacteria. Furthermore, rPaCRP/SAPm decreased phagocytosis of rPaCRP/SAPm-bound E. coli and S. aureus cells by ayu monocytes/macrophages (MO/MΦ) in a complement-dependent way. However, rPaCRP/SAPm alone had no significant influence on phagocytosis. These results provided the first evidence that PaCRP/SAP might function in ayu immune responses via agglutinating bacteria and inhibiting complement-mediated opsonophagocytosis by MO/MΦ.

Abstract
Since March 2013, China had experienced five seasonal epidemics related to Avian influenza A (H7N9). An unprecedented outbreak of H7N9 epidemic started from September 2016, with 730 cases reported till June 30(th) 2017, in mainland China that caused profound influences on both social development and health of the people. As an emerging infectious disease, information on pathogenic characteristics, transmission patterns and other epidemiological features of H7N9 virus somehow remained unclear. Data from previous studies suggested that the live poultry market (LPM) seemed to have served as main places where H7N9 virus got originated, mutated, spread and thus infected the human beings. Hence, closure of LPMs was suggested a major measure to control and prevent H7N9 epidemics in China. However, the effectiveness of different ways of LPM closures on H7N9 epidemics had been controversial. This study systemically summarized the effects of different ways of LPM closures on H7N epidemics from previous studies, aiming to provide references for developing a better program on H7N9 control and prevention in the country.

Abstract
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) was widely used to remove arsenic (As) from groundwater due to its excellent properties. Previous studies show that the coexisting silicate ions (Si) could occupy the available surface sites of TiO2 and further inhibit As adsorption and TiO2 regeneration. To investigate the effect of Si adsorption on the As molecular surface structure, an extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis was conducted in this work. The results indicated that the presence of Si exhibited no impact on the As adsorption configuration on TiO2. In situ attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy results demonstrated that the polymerization of Si that formed on the TiO2 surface compete with As adsorption sites, increasing the difficulty for TiO2 regeneration. To effectively regenerate TiO2, the removal efficiency of Si polymers on TiO2 via sodium fluoride (NaF) was studied. The results showed that NaF could remove Si monomer and polymer from TiO2, and the regenerated TiO2 could be reused with a stable adsorption performance. In situ ATR-FTIR spectroscopy suggested that NaF desorbed the Si monomer and polymer effectively. When spent TiO2 was regenerated with NaOH and NaF in three treatment cycles, As and Si desorption rates were 86.8%-100.3% and 67.9%-82.0%, respectively. The present study provides a new insight into regenerating absorbents with coadsorbed As and Si in groundwater.

Abstract
Objective: To test the mechanism and upstream pathway of outer hair cell apoptosis in Cadherin 23 (Cdh23) gene mutant mice. Method: The mutant Cdh23(erl/erl)(erl) mice were collected as the study group, while the C57BL/6J (B6) mice were chosen as the control group. A total of 70 mice per group were used in this study. The study group and control group underwent auditory-evoked brainstem response (ABR) tests at the same age. The terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay was performed to detect outer hair cell(OHC) apoptosis. The qRT-PCR was conducted to test the expression of ER stress markers immunoglobulin-binding protein (BiP) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP) mRNA. The expression and location of BiP and CHOP protein in OHC were detected by immunostaining. The expression of BiP protein in cochleae was identified by Western blot. The expression and location of CDH23 protein in OHC were discovered by immunostaining. Results: The ABR thresholds in erl mice were significantly higher than those in B6 mice at the age of 1 and 3 months (both P<0.05). The surface preparation with TUNEL staining confirmed OHC apoptosis in erl mouse cochleae which showed a higher TUNEL positive cell ratio than B6 mouse(t=11.291, P<0.01). The ER stress marker Bip and Chop mRNA were upregulated in the erl mouse inner ear, when compared with those in the B6 mouse(both P<0.05). The BiP protein extracted from the erl mouse cochleae was significantly higher than that of B6 mouse measured by Western blot (t=3.66, P=0.02). Immunostaining showed that BiP and CHOP were highly detected in the OHC in erl mouse cochleae, and was mainly detected in the perinuclear region of OHC. However, a bare BiP and CHOP signal were shown in B6 mouse cochleae. The CDH23 protein was specifically localized at the top of the OHC in B6 mice, indicating the localization of the tip links in hair bundle stereocilia. On the contrary, the CDH23(erl) protein was found to be localized from the top to the nuclei of the OHC in erl mice. Portions of the CDH23(erl) proteins failed to reach the top of the hair bundles and remained in the OHC cytoplasm. Conclusion: As the downstream response of the Cdh23 gene mutation, portions of the mutant CDH23(erl) protein was accumulated in ER lumen resulting in the increase of ER loading and ultimately triggered ER stress and hair cell apoptosis in erl mouse cochleae.

Abstract
Copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of vinyl epoxide with arylboronates to obtain aryl-substituted homoallylic alcohols are described. The reaction selectivity was different to that of previously reported vinyl epoxide ring-opening reactions using aryl nucleophiles. The reaction proceeded under mild conditions, affording aryl-substituted homoallylic alcohols with high selectivity and in good to excellent yields. The reaction provides convenient access to aryl-substituted homoallylic alcohols from vinyl epoxide Copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of vinyl epoxide with arylboronates to obtain aryl-substituted homoallylic alcohols are described.![]()

Abstract
Delayed endolymphatic hydrops (DEH) is a disease entity first described by Kamei and named by Schuknecht, defined as profound sensorineural deafness at early stage and after several years started to appear clinical feature of endolymphatic hydrops such as vertigo, aural fullness like Meniere's disease or fluctuating hearing loss in the contralateral ear . DEH can be classified into ipsilateral type, contralateral type and bilateral type. Although DEH has low incident rate, there are many kinds of etiology and audiology and vestibular tests. Up to now, a lot of literatures about etiology, diagnose, clinical manifestation, relevant examination and therapy of DEH were published abroad. In this review, we will make a summary of research status of DEH.
