Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic have impacts on the prevalence of other pathogens and people's social lifestyle. This study aimed to compare the pathogen, allergen and micronutrient characteristics of pediatric inpatients with pneumonia prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic in a large tertiary hospital in Shanghai, China. METHODS Patients with pneumonia admitted to the Department of Pediatric Pulmonology of Xinhua Hospital between March-August 2019 and March-August 2020 were recruited. And clinical characteristics of the patients in 2019 were compared with those in 2020. RESULTS Hospitalizations for pneumonia decreased by 74% after the COVID-19 pandemic. For pathogens, virus, mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) and mixed infection rates were all much lower in 2020 than those in 2019 (P < 0.01). Regarding allergens, compared with 2019, the positive rates of house dust mite, shrimp and crab were significantly higher in 2020 (P < 0.01). And for micronutrients, the levels of vitamin B2, B6, C and 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) in 2020 were observed to be significantly lower than those in 2019 (P < 0.05). For all the study participants, longer hospital stay (OR = 1.521, P = 0.000), milk allergy (OR = 6.552, P = 0.033) and calcium (Ca) insufficiency (OR = 12.048, P = 0.019) were identified as high-risk factors for severe pneumonia by multivariate analysis. CONCLUSIONS The number of children hospitalized with pneumonia and incidence of common pathogen infections were both reduced, and that allergy and micronutrient status in children were also changed after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
Our previous study revealed that acupuncture may exhibit therapeutic effects on Alzheimer's disease (AD) through the activation of metabolism in memory-related brain regions. However, the underlying functional mechanism remains poorly understood and warrants further investigation. In this study, we used resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI) to explore the potential effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on the 5xFAD mouse model of AD. We found that the EA group exhibited significant improvements in the number of platforms crossed and the time spent in the target quadrant when compared with the Model group (p < 0.05). The functional connectivity (FC) of left hippocampus (Hip) was enhanced significantly among 12 regions of interest (ROIs) in the EA group (p < 0.05). Based on the left Hip as the seed point, the rsfMRI analysis of the entire brain revealed increased FC between the limbic system and the neocortex in the 5xFAD mice after EA treatment. Additionally, the expression of amyloid-β(Aβ) protein and deposition in the Hip showed a downward trend in the EA group compared to the Model group (p < 0.05). In conclusion, our findings indicate that EA treatment can improve the learning and memory abilities and inhibit the expression of Aβ protein and deposition of 5xFAD mice. This improvement may be attributed to the enhancement of the resting-state functional activity and connectivity within the limbic-neocortical neural circuit, which are crucial for cognition, motor function, as well as spatial learning and memory abilities in AD mice.

Abstract
The normal operation of organelles is critical for tumor growth and metastasis. Herein, an intelligent nanoplatform (BMAEF) is fabricated to perform on-demand destruction of mitochondria and golgi apparatus, which also generates the enhanced photothermal-immunotherapy, resulting in the effective inhibition of primary and metastasis tumor. The BMAEF has a core of mesoporous silica nanoparticles loaded with brefeldin A (BM), which is connected to ethylenebis(oxyethylenenitrilo)tetraacetic acid (EGTA) and folic acid co-modified gold nanoparticles (AEF). During therapy, the BMAEF first accumulates in tumor cells via folic acid-induced targeting. Subsequently, the schiff base/ester bond cleaves in lysosome to release brefeldin A and AEF with exposed EGTA. The EGTA further captures Ca2+ to block ion transfer among mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and golgi apparatus, which not only induced dysfunction of mitochondria and golgi apparatus assisted by brefeldin A to suppress both energy and material metabolism against tumor growth and metastasis, but causes AEF aggregation for tumor-specific photothermal therapy and photothermal assisted immunotherapy. Moreover, the dysfunction of these organelles also stops the production of BMI1 and heat shock protein 70 to further enhance the metastasis inhibition and photothermal therapy, which meanwhile triggers the escape of cytochrome C to cytoplasm, leading to additional apoptosis of tumor cells.

Abstract
Streptomyces has the largest repertoire of natural product biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs), yet developing a universal engineering strategy for each Streptomyces species is challenging. Given that some Streptomyces species have larger BGC repertoires than others, we proposed that a set of genes co-evolved with BGCs to support biosynthetic proficiency must exist in those strains, and that their identification may provide universal strategies to improve the productivity of other strains. We show here that genes co-evolved with natural product BGCs in Streptomyces can be identified by phylogenomics analysis. Among the 597 genes that co-evolved with polyketide BGCs, 11 genes in the 'coenzyme' category have been examined, including a gene cluster encoding for the cofactor pyrroloquinoline quinone. When the pqq gene cluster was engineered into 11 Streptomyces strains, it enhanced production of 16,385 metabolites, including 36 known natural products with up to 40-fold improvement and several activated silent gene clusters. This study provides an innovative engineering strategy for improving polyketide production and finding previously unidentified BGCs.

Abstract
PURPOSE Living with type 1 diabetes requires burdensome and complex daily diabetes self-management behaviors. This study aimed to determine the association between integrated behavior performance and HbA1c, while identifying the behavior with the most significant impact on HbA1c. METHODS A simple and feasible questionnaire was used to collect diabetes self-management behavior in patients with type 1 diabetes (n = 904). We assessed six dimensions of behavior performance: continuous glucose monitor (CGM) usage, frequent glucose testing, insulin pump usage, carbohydrate counting application, adjustment of insulin doses, and usage of apps for diabetes management. We evaluated the association between these behaviors and HbA1c. RESULTS In total, 21.3% of patients performed none of the allotted behavior, while 28.5% of patients had a total behavior score of 3 or more. 63.6% of patients with a behavior score ≥ 3 achieved HbA1c goal, contrasting with only 30.4% of patients with a behavior score of 0-1. There was a mean 0.54% ± 0.05% decrease in HbA1c for each 1-unit increase in total behavior score after adjustment for age, family education and diabetes duration. Each behavior was independently correlated with a lower HbA1c level, with CGM having the most significant effect on HbA1c levels. CONCLUSIONS Six optimal self-management behaviors, especially CGM usage, were associated with improved glycemic control, emphasizing the feasibility of implementing a simplified version of DSMES in the routine clinical care. Typical methods for stable immobilization of proteins often involve time-consuming surface modification of silicon-based materials to enable specific binding, while the nonspecific adsorption method is faster but usually unstable. Herein, we fused a silica-binding protein, Si-tag, to target proteins so that the target proteins could attach directly to silica substrates in a single step, markedly streamlining the immobilization process. The adhesion force between the Si-tag and glass substrates was determined to be approximately 400-600 pN at the single-molecule level by atomic force microscopy, which is greater than the unfolding force of most proteins. The adhesion force of the Si-tag exhibits a slight increase when pulled from the C-terminus compared to that from the N-terminus. Furthermore, the Si-tag's adhesion force on a glass surface is marginally higher than that on a silicon nitride probe. The binding properties of the Si-tag are not obviously affected by environmental factors, including pH, salt concentration, and temperature. In addition, the macroscopic adhesion force between the Si-tag-coated hydrogel and glass substrates was ∼40 times higher than that of unmodified hydrogels. Therefore, the Si-tag, with its strong silica substrate binding ability, provides a useful tool as an excellent fusion tag for the rapid and mechanically robust immobilization of proteins on silica and for the surface coating of silica-binding materials.

Abstract
Herein, the vitamin K2 (VK2)/maleimide (MA) coloaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), functional molecules including folic acid (FA)/triphenylphosphine (TPP)/tetrapotassium hexacyanoferrate trihydrate (THT), as well as CaCO3 are explored to fabricate a core-shell-corona nanoparticle (VMMFTTC) for on-demand anti-tumor immunotherapy. After application, the tumor-specific acidic environment first decomposed CaCO3 corona, which significantly levitates the pH value of tumor tissue to convert M2 type macrophage to the antitumor M1 type. The resulting VMMFTT would then internalize in both tumor cells and macrophages via FA-assisted endocytosis and free endocytosis, respectively. These distinct processes generate different amount of VMMFTT in above two cells followed by 1) TPP-induced accumulation in the mitochondria, 2) THT-mediated effective capture of various signal ions to cut off signal transmission and further inhibit glutathione (GSH) generation, 3) ions catalyzed reactive oxygen species (ROS) production through Fenton reaction, 4) sustained release of VK2 and MA to further enhance the ROS production and GSH depletion, which caused significant apoptosis of tumor cells and additional M2-to-M1 macrophage polarization via different processes of oxidative stress. Moreover, the primary tumor apoptosis further matures surrounding immature dendritic cells and activates T cells to continuously promote the antitumor immunotherapy.

Abstract
Plitidepsin (or dehydrodidemnin B), an approved anticancer drug, belongs to the didemnin family of cyclic depsipeptides, which are found in limited quantities in marine tunicate extracts. Herein, we introduce a new approach that integrates microbial and chemical synthesis to generate plitidepsin and its analogues. We screened a Tistrella strain library to identify a potent didemnin B producer, and then introduced a second copy of the didemnin biosynthetic gene cluster into its genome, resulting in a didemnin B titer of approximately 75 mg/L. Next, we developed two straightforward chemical strategies to convert didemnin B into plitidepsin, one of which involved a one-step synthetic route giving over 90 % overall yield. Furthermore, we synthesized 13 new didemnin derivatives and three didemnin probes, enabling research into structure-activity relationships and interactions between didemnin and proteins. Our study highlights the synergistic potential of biosynthesis and chemical synthesis in overcoming the challenge of producing complex natural products sustainably and at scale.

Abstract
The compact design of an environmentally adaptive battery and effectors forms the foundation for wearable electronics capable of time-resolved, long-term signal monitoring. Herein, we present a one-body strategy that utilizes a hydrogel as the ionic conductive medium for both flexible aqueous zinc-ion batteries and wearable strain sensors. The poly(vinyl alcohol) hydrogel network incorporates nano-SiO2 and cellulose nanofibers (referred to as PSC) in an ethylene glycol/water mixed solvent, balancing the mechanical properties (tensile strength of 6 MPa) and ionic diffusivity at -20 °C (2 orders of magnitude higher than 2 M ZnCl2 electrolyte). Meanwhile, cathode lattice breathing during the solvated Zn2+ intercalation and dendritic Zn protrusion at the anode interface are mitigated. Besides the robust cyclability of the Zn∥PSC∥V2O5 prototype within a wide temperature range (from -20 to 80 °C), this microdevice seamlessly integrates a zinc-ion battery with a strain sensor, enabling precise monitoring of the muscle response during dynamic body movement. By employing transmission-mode operando XRD, the self-powered sensor accurately documents the real-time phasic evolution of the layered cathode and synchronized strain change induced by Zn deposition, which presents a feasible solution of health monitoring by the miniaturized electronics.

Abstract
Urolithiasis is closely linked to lifestyle factors. However, the causal relationship and underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the relationship between lifestyle factors and the onset of urolithiasis and explore potential blood metabolite mediators and their role in mediating this relationship. In this study, we selected single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) as instrumental variables if they exhibited significant associations with our exposures in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) (p < 5.0 × 10-8). Summary data for urolithiasis came from the FinnGen database, including 8597 cases and 333,128 controls. We employed multiple MR analysis methods to assess causal links between genetically predicted lifestyle factors and urolithiasis, as well as the mediating role of blood metabolites. A series of sensitivity and pleiotropy analyses were also conducted. Our results show that cigarettes smoked per day (odds ratio [OR] = 1.159, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.004-1.338, p = 0.044) and alcohol intake frequency (OR = 1.286, 95% CI = 1.056-1.565, p = 0.012) were positively associated with increased risk of urolithiasis, while tea intake (OR = 0.473, 95% CI = 0.299-0.784, p = 0.001) was positively associated with reduced risk of urolithiasis. Mediation analysis identifies blood metabolites capable of mediating the causal relationship between cigarettes smoked per day, tea intake and urolithiasis. We have come to the conclusion that blood metabolites serve as potential causal mediators of urolithiasis, underscoring the importance of early lifestyle interventions and metabolite monitoring in the prevention of urolithiasis.

Abstract
It is well known that information on stimulus orientation plays an important role in sensory processing. However, the neural mechanisms underlying somatosensory orientation perception are poorly understood. Adaptation has been widely used as a tool for examining sensitivity to specific features of sensory stimuli. Using the adaptation paradigm, we measured event-related potentials (ERPs) in response to tactile orientation stimuli presented pseudo-randomly to the right-hand palm in trials with all the same or different orientations. Twenty participants were asked to count the tactile orientation stimuli. The results showed that the adaptation-related N60 component was observed around contralateral central-parietal areas, possibly indicating orientation processing in the somatosensory regions. Conversely, the adaptation-related N120 component was identified bilaterally across hemispheres, suggesting the involvement of the frontoparietal circuitry in further tactile orientation processing. P300 component was found across the whole brain in all conditions and was associated with task demands, such as attention and stimulus counting. These findings help provide an understanding of the mechanisms of tactile orientation processing in the human brain.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To compare the efficacy and safety of thulium fiber laser (TFL) to holmium: YAG (Ho: YAG) laser in ureteroscopic lithotripsy for urolithiasis. METHODS PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CENTRAL, SinoMed, CNKI database, VIP and Wanfang Database were systematically searched for all relevant clinical trials until September 2023. References were explored to identify the relevant articles. Meta-analysis was carried out for the retrieved studies using RevMan5.4.1 software, and the risk ratio, mean difference and 95% confidence interval were expressed. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. The main outcomes of this meta-analysis were stone-free rate (SFR), perioperative outcomes and intraoperative or postoperative complications. RESULTS Thirteen studies, including 1394 patients, were included. According to the results of pooled analysis, TFL was associated with significantly higher stone-free rate (SFR) [0.52, 95% CI (0.32, 0.85), P = 0.009], shorter operation time [-5.47, 95% CI (-8.86, -2.08), P = 0.002], and less stone migration [0.17, 95% CI (0.06, 0.50), P = 0.001]. However, there was no significant difference in terms of the laser time, duration of hospital stay, drop of hemoglobin level, total energy, postoperative ureteral stenting, the incidence of intraoperative complications or postoperative complications between TFL and Ho: YAGs. CONCLUSION The findings of this study demonstrated several advantages of TFL in terms of higher SFR, shorter operative time and less stone migration. Abstract
BACKGROUND Seagrasses offer various ecosystem services and possess high levels of primary productivity. However, the development of mariculture has affected the homeostasis of seagrass meadow ecosystems. Plant-microbiome associations are essential for seagrasses health, but little is known about the role of environmental microbiomes and how they affect seagrass in a mariculture environment. In this study, we investigated the influence of mariculture on the rhizosphere and seawater microbiome surrounding Zostera marina and focused on the bacterial, eukaryotic, and fungal components in the composition, diversity, metabolism, and responses to mariculture-related environmental factors. RESULTS Significant differences in the composition, richness, diversity, and internal relations of the bacterial community between the seawater and rhizosphere sediment surrounding Z. marina were observed, while differences in the eukaryotic and fungal communities were less significant. More complex bacterial and fungal co-occurrence networks were found in the seawater and rhizosphere sediment of the Saccharina japonica (SJ) and sea cucumber (SC) culture zones. The seawater in the SJ zone had higher levels of dissimilatory and assimilatory nitrate reduction, denitrification, and nitrogen fixation processes than the other three zones. The assimilatory sulfate reduction enzymes were higher in the rhizosphere sediments of the SJ zone than in the other three zones. Tetracycline, sulfonamide, and diaminopyrimidine resistance genes were enriched in the mariculture SJ and SC zones. CONCLUSIONS Our findings might contribute to a better understanding of the effects of mariculture on the seagrass and the meadow ecosystems and thus revealing their potential operating mechanisms. These insights may serve to raise awareness of the effects of human activities on natural ecosystems, regulation of antibiotic usage, and environmental restoration. Video Abstract.

Abstract
Background Preoperative imaging for some unusual lesions in the sellar region can pose challenges in establishing a definitive diagnosis, impacting treatment strategies. Methods This study is a retrospective analysis of eight cases involving unusual sellar region lesions, all treated with endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery (EETS). We present the clinical, endocrine, and radiological characteristics, along with the outcomes of these cases. Results Among the eight cases, the lesions were identified as follows: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) in one case, Lymphocytic hypophysitis (LYH) in one case, Cavernous sinus hemangiomas (CSH) in one case, Ossifying fibroma (OF) in two cases; Sphenoid sinus mucocele (SSM) in one case, Pituitary abscess (PA) in two cases. All patients underwent successful EETS, and their diagnoses were confirmed through pathological examination. Postoperatively, all patients had uneventful recoveries without occurrences of diabetes insipidus or visual impairment. Conclusion Our study retrospectively analyzed eight unusual lesions of the sellar region. Some lesions exhibit specific imaging characteristics and clinical details that can aid in preoperative diagnosis and inform treatment strategies for these unusual sellar diseases.

Abstract
Global warming reportedly poses a critical risk to coral reef ecosystems. Bacteria and archaea are crucial components of the coral holobiont. The response of archaea associated with warming is less well understood than that of the bacterial community in corals. Also, there have been few studies on the dynamics of the microbial community in the coral holobiont under long-term heat stress. In order to track the dynamic alternations in the microbial communities within the heat-stressed coral holobiont, three-week heat-stress monitoring was carried out on the coral Pocillopora damicornis. The findings demonstrate that the corals were stressed at 32 °C, and showed a gradual decrease in Symbiodiniaceae density with increasing duration of heat stress. The archaeal community in the coral holobiont remained relatively unaltered by the increasing temperature, whereas the bacterial community was considerably altered. Sustained heat stress exacerbated the dissimilarities among parallel samples of the bacterial community, confirming the Anna Karenina Principle in animal microbiomes. Heat stress leads to more complex and unstable microbial networks, characterized by an increased average degree and decreased modularity, respectively. With the extension of heat stress duration, the relative abundances of the gene (nifH) and genus (Tistlia) associated with nitrogen fixation increased in coral samples, as well as the potential pathogenic bacteria (Flavobacteriales) and opportunistic bacteria (Bacteroides). Hence, our findings suggest that coral hosts might recruit nitrogen-fixing bacteria during the initial stages of suffering heat stress. An environment that is conducive to the colonization and development of opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria when the coral host becomes more susceptible as heat stress duration increases.

Abstract
Although previous studies have well established that audiovisual enhancement has a promoting effect on working memory and selective attention, there remains an open question about the influence of audiovisual enhancement on attentional guidance by working memory. To address this issue, the present study adopted a dual-task paradigm that combines a working memory task and a visual search task, in which the content of working memory was presented in audiovisual or visual modalities. Given the importance of search speed in memory-driven attentional suppression, we divided participants into two groups based on their reaction time (RT) in neutral trials and examined whether audiovisual enhancement in attentional suppression was modulated by search speed. The results showed that the slow search group exhibited a robust memory-driven attentional suppression effect, and the suppression effect started earlier and its magnitude was greater in the audiovisual condition than in the visual-only condition. However, among the faster search group, the suppression effect only occurred in the trials with longer RTs in the visual-only condition, and its temporal dynamics were selectively improved in the audiovisual condition. Furthermore, audiovisual enhancement of memory-driven attention evolved over time. These findings suggest that semantically congruent bimodal presentation can progressively facilitate the strength and temporal dynamics of memory-driven attentional suppression, and that search speed plays an important role in this process. This may be due to a synergistic effect between multisensory working memory representation and top-down suppression mechanism. The present study demonstrates the flexible role of audiovisual enhancement on cognitive control over memory-driven attention.

Abstract
Previous studies have separately found that exogenous orienting decreases multisensory integration (MSI), while endogenous orienting enhances MSI. It is currently unclear, however, why the two orientations have opposite effects on MSI. In the current study, we investigated the interaction between spatial attention and MSI in two experiments based on the cue-target paradigm. Experiment 1 separated exogenous and endogenous orienting to investigate the effect of spatial attention on MSI by varying the predictability of the cue. Experiment 2 further explored the effect of endogenous orienting on MSI. We found that exogenous orienting induced by the directionality of the cue decreased MSI, while endogenous orienting induced by the predictability of the cue enhanced MSI. The role of spatial orienting need and spatial attention bias in the modulation of MSI by exogenous and endogenous orienting was discussed. The present study sheds new light on how spatial attention modulates MSI processes.

Abstract
Purpose The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of acrizanib, a small molecule inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), on physiological angiogenesis and pathological neovascularization in the eye and to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms. Methods We investigated the potential role of acrizanib in physiological angiogenesis using C57BL/6J newborn mice, and pathological angiogenesis using the mouse oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) and laser-induced choroidal neovascularization (CNV) models. Moreover, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-treated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were used as an in vitro model for studying the molecular mechanism underlying acrizanib's antiangiogenic effects. Results The intravitreal injection of acrizanib did not show a considerable impact on physiological angiogenesis and retinal thickness, indicating a potentially favorable safety profile. In the mouse models of OIR and CNV, acrizanib showed promising results in reducing pathological neovascularization, inflammation, and vascular leakage, indicating its potential efficacy against pathological angiogenesis. Consistent with in vivo results, acrizanib blunted angiogenic events in VEGF-treated HUVECs such as proliferation, migration, and tube formation. Furthermore, acrizanib inhibited the multisite phosphorylation of VEGFR2 to varying degrees and the activation of its downstream signal pathways in VEGF-treated HUVECs. Conclusions This study suggested the potential efficacy and safety of acrizanib in suppressing fundus neovascularization. Acrizanib functioned through inhibiting multiple phosphorylation sites of VEGFR2 in endothelial cells to different degrees. Translational Relevance These results indicated that acrizanib might hold promise as a potential candidate for the treatment of ocular vascular diseases.

Abstract
The assembly line biosynthesis of the powerful anticancer-antiviral didemnin cyclic peptides is proposed to follow a prodrug release mechanism in Tristella bacteria. This strategy commences with the formation of N-terminal prodrug scaffolds and culminates in their cleavage during the cellular export of the mature products. In this study, a comprehensive exploration of the genetic and biochemical aspects of the enzymes responsible for both the assembly and cleavage of the acylated peptide prodrug scaffolds is provided. This process involves the assembly of N-acyl-polyglutamine moieties orchestrated by the nonribosomal peptide synthetase DidA and the cleavage of these components at the post-assembly stage by DidK, a transmembrane CAAX hydrolase homolog. The findings not only shed light on the complex prodrug mechanism that underlies the synthesis and secretion of didemnin compounds but also offer novel insights into the expanded role of CAAX hydrolases in microbes. Furthermore, this knowledge can be leveraged for the strategic design of genome mining approaches aimed at discovering new bioactive natural products that employ similar prodrug biochemical strategies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This review was designed to examine the effect of long-term (≥2 days) vs. short-term (1 day) and single-day vs. single preoperative doses of antibiotic prophylaxis on surgical site infection (SSI) rates after orthognathic surgery. MATERIAL AND METHODS PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Scopus were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) without any date or language restriction till 1st September 2023. SSI rates were pooled to generate risk ratio (RR). RESULTS Eight RCTs comparing long-term vs. short-term and three RCTs comparing single day vs. single preoperative dose of antibiotic prophylaxis were included. Meta-analysis showed that the use of long-term antibiotic prophylaxis significantly reduced the risk of SSI after orthognathic surgery as compared to short-term antibiotics [RR:0.42 (95% CI: 0.23, 0.76) I2=0%]. Meta-analysis also noted that patients receiving a single day of antibiotic prophylaxis had significantly reduced risk of SSI as compared to those receiving only a preoperative single dose of antibiotics [RR:0.28 (95%: 0.09, 0.82) I2=0%]. CONCLUSIONS Evidence from a limited number of RCTs with moderate to high risk of bias shows that two to seven days of long-term antibiotic prophylaxis reduces the risk of SSI as compared to single-day antibiotic therapy. Also, a single day of antibiotics may be more beneficial than a single pre-operative dose of antibiotic.

Abstract
Although previous studies have investigated the relationship between inhibition of return (IOR) and multisensory integration, the influence of non-spatial has not been explored. The present study aimed to investigate the influence of non-spatial IOR on audiovisual integration by using a "prime-neutral cue-target" paradigm. In Experiment 1, which manipulated prime validity and target modality, the targets were positioned centrally, revealing significant non-spatial IOR effects in the visual, auditory, and audiovisual modalities. Analysis of relative multisensory response enhancement (rMRE) indicated substantial audiovisual integration enhancement in both valid and invalid target conditions. Furthermore, the enhancement was weaker for valid targets than for invalid targets. In Experiment 2, the targets were positioned above and below to rule out repetition blindness (RB); this experiment successfully replicated the results observed in Experiment 1. Notably, Experiments 1 and 2 consistently found that the correlation between modality differences and rMRE for valid targets indicated that differences in signal strength between visual and auditory modalities contributed to a reduction in audiovisual integration. However, the absence of correlation with the invalid target suggests that attention, as a key factor, may play a significant role in this process. The present study highlights how non-spatial IOR reduces audiovisual integration and sheds light on the complex interaction between attention and multisensory integration.

Abstract
Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) of the central nervous system is a rare fibroblastic tumor of mesenchymal origin. SFTs in the saddle area are much less common. In January 2022, a 43-year-old female patient was admitted with SFT 3 months following partial resection of a microscopic transsphenoidal saddle area tumor at a different hospital. Magnetic resonance imaging indicated that the unresected part of the tumor was significantly enhanced on T1 enhancement, which strongly indicated a recurrence. Subsequently, the patient underwent transnasal endoscopic saddle area tumor resection at our hospital and the tumor was successfully removed. By using postoperative pathology examination, immunohistochemical analysis of Bcl-2, cluster of differentiation 99, STAT6 and vimentin, and a fusion gene test performed by high-throughput sequencing technology, the SFT was definitively diagnosed. Following 3 months of follow-up, the patient was found to have tumor recurrence in the cavernous sinus and absence of tumor growth in the pituitary fossa. Therefore, the patient received proton therapy and tumor growth was controlled effectively.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Recent studies have suggested that MIC26 (apolipoprotein O, APOO), a novel mitochondrial inner membrane protein, is involved in inflammation. Thus, the role of macrophage MIC26 in acute inflammation and chronic inflammatory disease atherosclerosis was investigated. METHODS Macrophage-specific MIC26 knockout mice (MIC26LysM) were generated by crossing Apooflox/flox and LysMcre+/- mice. An endotoxemia mouse model was generated to explore the effects of macrophage MIC26 deficiency on acute inflammation, while an atherosclerosis mouse model was constructed by crossing MIC26LysM mice with Apoe-/- mice and challenged with a Western diet. Atherosclerotic plaques, primary macrophage function, and mitochondrial structure and function were analyzed. RESULTS MIC26 knockout did not affect the median survival time and post-injection serum interleukin 1β concentrations in mice with endotoxemia. Mice with MIC26 deficiency in an Apoe-/- background had smaller atherosclerotic lesions and necrotic core than the control group. In vitro studies found that the loss of MIC26 did not affect macrophage polarization, apoptosis, or lipid handling capacity, but increased efferocytosis (the ability to clear apoptotic cells). An in situ efferocytosis assay of plaques also showed that the ratio of macrophage-associated apoptotic cells to free apoptotic cells was higher in the MIC26-deficient group than in the control group, indicating increased efferocytosis. In addition, an in vivo thymus efferocytosis assay indicated that MIC26 deletion promoted efferocytosis. Mechanistically, the loss of MIC26 resulted in an abnormal mitochondrial inner membrane structure, increased mitochondrial fission, and decreased mitochondrial membrane potential. Loss of MIC26 reduced mitochondria optic atrophy type 1 (OPA1) protein, and OPA1 silencing in macrophages promoted efferocytosis. Overexpression of OPA1 abolished the increase in efferocytosis produced by MIC26 deficiency. CONCLUSIONS Macrophage MIC26 deletion alleviated advanced atherosclerosis and necrotic core expansion by promoting efferocytosis. This mechanism may be related to the increased mitochondrial fission caused by reduced mitochondrial OPA1.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Small-area burn is a common but specific type of injury that can still lead to serious complications if not managed properly. Researchers have introduced a number of interventions. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to compare the effects of eCASH concept-based care (ie, eBCare) with those of standard treatment on wound healing in patients with small-area burns. METHODS In this prospective randomized controlled trial, patients with small-area burns received either eBCare (n = 35) or standard burn treatment (n = 35) for 2 weeks. Pain, anxiety, heart rate, exudate, and wound area were measured during and after dressing changes. Scar color and thickness were assessed 4 years or longer after discharge. RESULTS The eBCare group had a lower median pain score, anxiety score, and heart rate compared with the control group (P < .001). The eBCare group also had a higher median wound healing rate on day 14 than the control group (P < .05). At follow-up 4 years or more after discharge, the eBCare group had better scar color and thickness than the control group (P < .05). CONCLUSION The use of eBCare reduced pain and anxiety, accelerated wound healing, and improved scar outcomes in patients with small-area burns, which suggests that eBCare may be a feasible option for this population.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) are life-threatening opportunistic infections in patients with connective tissue disease CTD) that cause significant morbidity and mortality. We attempted to determine the potential risk factors associated with IFIs in CTD. METHODS We systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases for relevant articles published from the database inception to February 1, 2023. RESULTS Twenty-six studies were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. Risk factors identified for IFIs were diabetes (odds ratio [OR], 1.62; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.00 to 2.64), pulmonary diseases (OR 3.43; 95% CI 2.49 to 4.73), interstitial lung disease (ILD; OR, 4.06; 95% CI, 2.22 to 7.41), renal disease (OR, 4.41; 95% CI, 1.84 to 10.59), glucocorticoid (GC) use (OR, 4.15; 95% CI, 2.74 to 6.28), especially moderate to high-dose GC, azathioprine (AZA) use (OR, 1.50; 95% CI, 1.12 to 2.01), calcineurin inhibitor (CNI) use (OR, 2.49; 95% CI, 1.59 to 3.91), mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use (OR, 2.83; 95% CI, 1.59 to 5.03), cyclophosphamide (CYC) use (OR, 3.35; 95% CI, 2.47 to 4.54), biologics use (OR, 3.43; 95% CI, 2.36 to 4.98), and lymphopenia (OR, 4.26; 95% CI, 2.08 to 8.73). Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) use reduced risk of IFIs (OR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.54 to 0.84). Furthermore, 17 of the 26 studies only reported risk factors for Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia (PJP) in patients with CTD. Pulmonary disease; ILD; and the use of GC, CNIs, CYC, methotrexate (MTX), MMF and biologics, and lymphopenia increased the risk of PJP, whereas the use of HCQ reduced its risk. CONCLUSION Diabetes, pulmonary disease, ILD, renal disease, use of GC (especially at moderate to high dose) and immunosuppressive drugs, and lymphopenia were found to be associated with significant risk for IFIs (especially PJP) in patients with CTD. Furthermore, the use of HCQ may reduce the risk of IFIs in patients with CTD.

Abstract
AIM To develop a deep-learning model to help general dental practitioners diagnose periodontitis accurately and at an early stage. MATERIALS AND METHODS First, the panoramic radiographs (PARs) from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were input into the convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture to establish the PAR-CNN model for healthy controls and periodontitis patients. Then, the PARs from the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were included in the second testing set to validate the effectiveness of the model with data from two centres. Heat maps were produced using a gradient-weighted class activation mapping method to visualise the regions of interest of the model. The accuracy and time required to read the PARs were compared between the model, periodontal experts, and general dental practitioners. Areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUCs) were used to evaluate the performance of the model. RESULTS The AUC of the PAR-CNN model was 0.843, and the AUC of the second test set was 0.793. The heat map showed that the regions of interest predicted by the model were periodontitis bone lesions. The accuracy of the model, periodontal experts, and general dental practitioners was 0.800, 0.813, and 0.693, respectively. The time required to read each PAR by periodontal experts (6.042 ± 1.148 seconds) and general dental practitioners (13.105 ± 3.153 seconds), which was significantly longer than the time required by the model (0.027 ± 0.002 seconds). CONCLUSION The ability of the CNN model to diagnose periodontitis approached the level of periodontal experts. Deep-learning methods can assist general dental practitioners to diagnose periodontitis quickly and accurately.

Abstract
The scalable development of an environmentally adaptive and homogeneous Li+ supplementary route remains a formidable challenge for the existing prelithiation technologies, restricting the full potential of high-capacity anodes. In this study, we present a moisture-tolerant interfacial prelithiation approach through casting a hydrophobic poly(vinylidene-co-hexafluoropropylene) membrane blended with a deep-lithiated alloy (Li22Si5@C/PVDF-HFP) onto Si based anodes. This strategy could not only extend to various high-capacity anode systems (SiOx@C, hard carbon) but also align with industrial roll-to-roll assembly processes. By carefully adjusting the thickness of the prelithiation layer, the densely packed Si@C electrode (4.5 mAh cm-2) exhibits significantly improved initial Coulombic efficiency until a close-to-unit value, as well as extreme moisture tolerance (60% relative humidity). Furthermore, it achieves more than 10-fold enhancement of ionic conductivity across the electrode. As pairing the prelithiated Si@C anode with the LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode, the 2 Ah pouch-format prototype balances an energy density of ∼371 Wh kg-1 and an extreme power output of 2450 W kg-1 as well as 83.8% capacity retention for 1000 cycles. The combined operando phase tracking and spatial arrangement analysis of the intermediate alloy elucidate that the enhanced Li utilization derives from the gradient stress dissipation model upon a spontaneous Li+ redistribution process.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia and is characterized by amyloid-β (Aβ) peptides and hyperphosphorylated Tau proteins. Evidence indicates that AD and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) share pathophysiological characteristics, including impaired insulin sensitivity. Large-leaf yellow tea (LYT) has been widely recognized for its health benefits, and we previously found that LYT can improve peripheral insulin resistance. PURPOSE This study aimed to investigate the protective effects and underlying mechanisms of LYT in the 5xFAD mouse model of AD. METHODS HPLC and spectrophotometric methods determined the chemical composition of the LYT extract. 5xFAD mice were treated with LYT supplementation (2 and 4 mg/ml) in drinking water for six months. Barnes and Y mazes were used to evaluate cognitive function, and the open field test assessed anxiety-like behavior. Immunofluorescence, silver, and Nissl staining were used to evaluate the pathological effects of LYT extract. A FRET-based assay assessed β-site APP cleavage enzyme 1 (BACE1) activity, ELISA measured Aβ levels in the brain, and Western blot analyses explored protein expression levels. RESULTS Our results revealed that LYT significantly attenuated memory impairment and anxiety levels and alleviated cerebral neural damage. A reduction of senile plaques was also observed in both the cortex and hippocampus. LYT significantly inhibited the activity of BACE1, which resulted in a lower Aβ protein level. In addition, LYT enhanced insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1)-mediated phosphorylation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) and protein kinase B (AKT), further suppressed glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK3β), and ultimately inhibited hyperphosphorylation of the protein Tau. The inhibitory effect of the LYT extract on the phosphorylation of Tau and BACE1 activity was dose-dependent. CONCLUSION LYT improves cognitive ability and reduces Aβ production by inhibiting BACE1 activity. Decreases of Tau protein hyperphosphorylation upon LYT treatment appear to be associated with the regulation of the IRS-1/PI3K/AKT/GSK3β axis. Thus, the findings of this study also provide new evidence that LYT regulates insulin signaling pathways within the central nervous system.

Abstract
Background Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases affecting children's health, and recurrent wheezing in infants is closely related to childhood asthma. However, up to now, there is a lack of unified diagnostic criteria and interventions for recurrent wheezing in infants. By analyzing and discussing the risk factors of recurrent wheezing in infants and related intervention measures, we aim to take individualized treatment for different children and reduce the occurrence of recurrent wheezing in infants. Methods From January 2017 to December 2020, children under 3 years old who were admitted to the Department of Pediatric Respiratory of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine with the chief complaint of wheezing for the first time and were clinically diagnosed with bronchiolitis, asthmatic bronchopneumonia and asthmatic bronchitis were retrospectively analyzed through telephone questionnaires. These children were divided into two groups based on whether the wheezing occurred again after discharge. The demographic characteristics, clinical treatment, imaging characteristics, and related interventions and outcomes after discharge were analyzed in both groups. Results Among the 523 children under 3 years old who were hospitalized due to wheezing, 264 (50.5%) did not have wheezing after discharge, and 259 (49.5%) still had wheezing after discharge. Both chi-squared test and multivariate analysis showed that male, history of eczema, history of rhinitis, history of wheezing before hospitalization, family smoke exposure, mycoplasma infection and inhalation allergen sensitization were risk factors for recurrent wheezing in infants and young children (P<0.05). Simultaneously, Cox survival curve showed that different intervention time and intervention methods would lead to different prognosis. Conclusions (I) Male, with a history of eczema, rhinitis, wheezing before hospitalization, family environment smoke exposure, mycoplasma infection and a history of inhalation allergy are high risk factors for recurrent wheezing in the recurrent wheezing group, and are more likely to have recurrent wheezing after discharge, with shorter days of wheezing control; (II) there was a significant interaction between mycoplasma infection and a history of inhalation allergy in infants with the risk of recurrent wheezing; (III) long-term intervention for children with wheezing for 4 weeks or more after discharge can reduce the probability of recurrent wheezing; (IV) for children of male, with a history of eczema or rhinitis, the most effective intervention to reduce the probability of recurrent wheezing is long-term inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) treatment after discharge.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the feasibility and value of performing a three-sided encapsulation procedure based on fascia anatomy in laparoscopic lateral lymph node dissection (LLND) for middle and low rectal cancer. Methods: This was a retrospective review. The study cohort comprised patients who met the diagnostic criteria for rectal cancer according to the Chinese Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Colorectal Cancer, had a short lymph node diameter of >5 mm on the lateral side within the 15 days before surgery, were evaluated as feasible candidates for laparoscopic total mesorectal excision+LLND surgery, had been diagnosed with low or intermediate level rectal cancer, and whose tumor was less than 8 cm away from the anal verge according to pathological examination of the operative specimen. Patients with a history of other malignant tumors of the abdomen or with incomplete follow-up data were excluded. Forty-two patients with middle and low rectal cancer who had undergone lateral lymph node dissection in diagnosis and treatment center of Gastrointestinal Cancer of Guangdong Hospital of Chinese Medicine from Jan.2018 to Dec.2022 were enrolled. There were 24 men (57.1%) and 18 women (42.9%) aged 58.4±11.8 years and the median BMI was 22.5 (19.3-24.1) kg/m2. The main point of the three-sided encapsulation procedure is to expand the external side medial to the external iliac artery and vein, narrowing the range of exterior side dissection. The anterior-medial side is designed to expand the vesical fascia to define the range of anterior-medial side extension. The internal side is fully extended to the ureterohypogastric nerve fascia; the distal point of the caudal extension reaches the level of the Alcock canal and the bottom reaches the piriformis, enabling dissection of the obturator nerve and No.283 lymph nodes. No.263D lymph nodes are dissected by exposing the internal iliac artery and its branches, dissecting the group No.263P lymph nodes, and severing the inferior vesical artery. Finally, the lateral lymphatic tissue is completely resected. Relevant variables were recorded, including the number of lateral lymph nodes detected, the rate of lymph node metastasis, operation duration, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative complications, postoperative hospital stay, and 3-year overall survival rate. Results: Laparoscopic surgery was successfully completed in all patients with no conversions to open surgery and no intraoperative complications. Twenty-seven (64.3%) of the study patients underwent left-sided LLND, 10 (23.8%) right-sided LLND, and five (11.9%) bilateral LLND, with lymph nodes cleared on both sides. All patients' lymph nodes were examined pathologically. A median of 17.0 (11.7, 26.0) lymph nodes was detected, the median of lateral lymph nodes being 5.0 (2.0, 10.2). The median operation time was 254.5 (199.0, 325.2) minutes. The median intra-operative blood loss was 50.0 (30.0, 100.0) mL. All patients were diagnosed with adenocarcinoma by pathological examination of the operative specimen. Two patients developed postoperative intestinal obstruction, one lymphatic leakage, and one a perineal incision infection. There were no cases of anastomotic leakage. The median postoperative hospital stay was 6.0 (5.0, 7.0) days and the median follow-up time 23.5 (9.0, 36.7) months. During follow-up, three patients (7.1%) died of tumor recurrence and metastasis. Two (4.8%) experienced mild urinary dysfunction, and one (2.4%) had moderate postoperative erectile dysfunction. One patient (2.4%) was found to have prostate and lung metastases 3 month after surgery. The 3-year overall survival rate was 74.4%. Conclusions: Three sided encapsulation is a safe and feasible procedure for LLND, achieving accurate and complete clearance of lateral lymphatic tissue.

Abstract
Sphingolipids, present in both higher animals and prokaryotes, involving in cell differentiation, pathogenesis and apoptosis in human physiological health. With increasing attention on the gut microbiome and its impact on wellbeing, there is a renewed focus on exploring bacterial sphingolipids. This review aims to consolidate the current understanding of bacterial sphingolipids and their impact on host health. Compared to mammalian sphingolipids, bacterial sphingolipids are characterized by odd chain lengths due to the presence of branched alkyl chains. Additionally, intestinal microbial sphingolipids can migrate from the gut to various host organs, affecting the immune system and metabolism. Furthermore, the intricate interplay between dietary sphingolipids and the gut microbiota is explored, shedding light on their complex relationship. Despite limited knowledge in this area, this review aims to raise awareness about the importance of bacterial sphingolipids and further our understanding of more uncharacterized bacterial sphingolipids and their significant role in maintaining host health.

Abstract
Introduction Posterior communicating artery (Pcom) aneurysm has unique morphological characteristics and a high recurrence risk after coil embolization. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the recurrence-related morphology characteristics and hemodynamics. Method A total of 20 patients with 22 Pcom aneurysms from 2019 to 2022 were retrospectively enrolled. The recurrence-related morphology parameters were measured. The hemodynamic parameters were simulated based on finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics. The hemodynamic differences before and after treatment caused by different morphological features and the correlation between these parameters were analyzed. Result Significant greater postoperative inflow rate at the neck (Qinflow), relative Qinflow, inflow concentration index (ICI), and residual flow volume (RFV) were reported in the aneurysms with wide neck (>4 mm). Significant greater postoperative RFV were reported in the aneurysms with large size (>7 mm). Significant greater postoperative Qinflow, relative Qinflow, and ICI were reported in the aneurysms located on the larteral side of the curve. The bending angle of the internal carotid artery at the initiation of Pcom (αICA@PCOM) and neck diameter had moderate positive correlations with Qinflow, relative Qinflow, ICI, and RFV. Conclusion The morphological factors, including aneurysm size, neck diameter, and αICA@PCOM, are correlated with the recurrence-inducing hemodynamic characteristics even after fully packing. This provides a theoretical basis for evaluating the risk of aneurysm recurrence and a reference for selecting a surgical plan.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a very lethal malignancy with a scarcity of treatment options. Although erlotinib- and gemcitabine-based treatments have been approved for PC, their effectiveness is limited. The present study is aimed at exploring the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms of anticancer activities of homoharringtonine (HHT) and its interaction with erlotinib to develop a potential therapeutic strategy for PC. METHODS The RT-qPCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence and expression-vectors and oligonucleotide transfection were employed to determine the expression characteristics of onco-factors. Anticancer activities were determined by MTT, colony forming, and flowcytometric analysis. Dual luciferase assay was conducted to confirm putative target of miR-130b-3p. In-vivo experiments were followed by immunohistochemical assay. KEY FINDINGS The EphB4/JAK2/STAT3 pathway drives the growth and proliferation of PC through induction of prosurvival factors and cell cycle mediators. HHT directly and epigenetically via miR-130b-3p targets EphB4, leading to downregulation of JAK2/STAT3 pathway. The inactivation of STAT3 results in diminution of antiapoptotic factors and cell cycle mediators. HHT also enhances the anticancer activity of erlotinib. CONCLUSIONS HHT demonstrates potential anticancer activities in PC by downregulating EphB4/JAK2/STAT3 signalling. HHT also produces synergistic effects with erlotinib.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Survival rates for women with metastatic cervical cancer (CC) are low, with limited management options. Radiation therapy (RT) for metastatic disease has led to prolonged survival in other malignancies, however, the data are scarce in CC. Herein, we evaluated the effect of RT for metastatic CC. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 58 patients with metastatic CC between September 2019 and January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were treated with platinum-based chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy or immunotherapy followed with or without RT (NRT). The recent efficacy, survival status and prognostic factors were analyzed statistically. RESULTS Objective response rate (ORR) was 63.6% with one complete and twenty partial responses in RT group (n = 33) and 40.0% with two complete and eight partial responses in NRT group (n = 25), respectively (p = 0.074). Disease control rate (DCR) of the RT and NRT groups were 79.4% vs 80.0%, respectively (p = 0.861). Median follow-up time was 17 months (3-39months). In RT group, 11(33.3%) patients experienced local regional or distant failure and 9 (27.3%) patients were dead. In NRT group, 15(60%) patients had progression and 8 (32%) patients dead. There was no significant difference between the two groups in overall survival (OS); however, RT group displayed superior progression-free survival (PFS) (1-year OS: 72.7% vs. 68.0%, p = 0.460; 1-year PFS: 66.7% vs. 40.0%, p = 0.039). The multivariate analysis showed that RT, immunotherapy, lymph node metastasis only relevant predictor of superior PFS but not OS. In subgroup analysis, patients treated with RT appeared to have a better PFS in some specific cohorts, such as age>45 years (72.0% vs 36.4% P = 0.015), squamous carcinoma histology (71.0% vs 40.9% P = 0.017), metastatic at diagnosis (75.0% vs 47.6% P = 0.012), non-targeted therapy (72.4% vs 43.8% P = 0.040). No significant increase in treatment-related toxicity was observed in the RT group compared with the NRT group. CONCLUSION RT provided superior PFS in metastatic CC patients compared to NRT, and well tolerated. Moreover, RT, immunotherapy, lymph node metastasis only were independent significant prognostic factors for PFS. Subgroup analysis showed that combination of RT and chemotherapy obtained favorable PFS in metastatic CC patients with age>45 years, squamous carcinoma histology, metastatic at diagnosis, non-targeted therapy. Studies with a larger sample size and longer follow-up are warranted.

Abstract
Technetium-99mm pyrophosphate (Tc-PYP) scintigraphy is a highly accurate non-invasive method for the diagnosis of transthyretin (ATTR) cardiac amyloidosis. Prognosis for this disease is improved following treatment with the transthyretin (TTR) stabilizer tafamidis. Although tafamidis slows disease progression, its effects on myocardial amyloid and Tc-PYP uptake remain unclear. We present a patient with ATTR cardiac amyloidosis who had a strongly positive initial Tc-PYP scan, with a dramatic decrease in Tc-PYP uptake on repeat scan after 3 years of tafamidis treatment. However, myocardial biopsy showed persistent diffuse amyloid deposits. This case highlights the need for further studies regarding the utility of serial Tc-PYP scans in monitoring the progress of ATTR cardiomyopathy.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) CAPSTONE-1, a phase 3 trial, showed that SHR-1316 (PD-L1 antibody) combined with standard first-line chemotherapy could prolong overall survival (OS) in patients (pts) with ES-SCLC. The CREST trial reported consolidative thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) of 30 Gy in 10 fractions provided a 10% 2-year OS benefit and more intensive TRT should be investigated in ES-SCLC. In the era of immunotherapy, the role of TRT also needs further exploration. Therefore, we designed this clinical trial to investigate the efficacy and safety of SHR-1316 plus first-line chemotherapy followed by TRT combined with SHR-1316. MATERIALS/METHODS Key inclusion criteria were pts aged 18-75 years, with previously untreated histologically or cytologically confirmed ES-SCLC, and an ECOG performance status of 0-1. Eligible pts would receive 4∼6 cycles of SHR-1316 (20mg/kg, D1, q3w) combined with EP/EC (etoposide, 100mg/m2, D1-5, q3w and cisplatin, 75mg/m², D1-3, q3w or carboplatin, AUC = 5, D1, q3w), followed by SHR-1316 combined with TRT (≥3 Gy*10 f or ≥2 Gy*25 f, involved-field irradiation), and then the maintenance therapy with SHR-1316 until disease progression or intolerable adverse events (AEs). The main endpoints included ORR, PFS and safety. RESULTS From October 2020 to January 2023, 33 pts received SHR-1316 and sequential consolidative TRT. Among them, 19 pts received high-dose TRT (>3 Gy*10 f or ≥2 Gy*25 f) and 14 pts received low-dose TRT (≤3 Gy*10 f or<2 Gy*25 f). The median age was 62 (range: 38-73). Most pts were male (28, 84.8%), former smokers (22, 66.7%) with an ECOG performance status 1 (32, 97%). Ten (30.3%) pts were diagnosed with brain metastasis and 10 (30.3%) pts had liver metastasis at baseline. At the data cutoff date, 9 pts remained on treatment, the average number of treatment cycles was 9.2. 33 pts had at least one 1 post-treatment tumor assessment. The confirmed ORR and DCR were 90.9% (30/33) and 100% (33/33) in all pts, were 89.5% (17/19) and 100% (19/19) in high-dose TRT group, and were 92.9% (13/14) and 100% (14/14) in low-dose TRT group. The median PFS was 10.2(CI: 5.8∼14.7) months in all pts, was 7 (CI: 3.8∼10.2) months in high-dose TRT group and 10.4 (CI: 8.4∼12.3) months in low-dose TRT group. AEs occurred in 27 (81.8%) pts and grade 3 or 4 AEs occurred in 20 (60.6%) pts. The most common grade 3 or 4 AEs included neutropenia (15, 45.5%), leukopenia (8, 24.2%), lymphocytopenia (5, 15.2%), pneumonia (3, 9.1%), anemia (3, 9.1%) and thrombocytopenia (2, 6.1%). CONCLUSION SHR-1316 plus chemotherapy and sequential TRT as first-line therapy for ES-SCLC showed promising efficacy and acceptable safety. There is no significant difference between high-dose and low-dose TRT groups in terms of safety and efficacy according to current data.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) The aim of this study was to assess the changes and relationship between nutritional impact symptoms (NIS) and malnutrition incidence during radiotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer. MATERIALS/METHODS A prospective observational study recruited hospitalized patients with esophageal cancer who received radiotherapy or did not receive chemotherapy. 283 patients with esophageal carcinoma were followed up before and during the fourth week of radiotherapy. Nutritional parameters were collected during radiotherapy. RESULTS According to the patient 's assessment of NIS and subjective global assessment (PG-SGA), at the mid-term of radiotherapy, the proportion of patients with NIS≥3 increased from 20.8% to 61.13%. Inappetence (37.1%) and abdominal distension (28.6%) were the most common nutritional symptoms. Severe malnutrition increased from 39% to 58.1%.NIS (odds ratio (OR) 30.93, 95% CI 15.92, 60.10, p <0.001) and weight loss of ≥5% (odds ratio (OR) 24.1, 95% CI 11.98, 48.47, p <0.001) were independently associated with severe malnutrition during radiotherapy. CONCLUSION Strengthen the nutritional support therapy during mid-radiotherapy for esophageal cancer patient, and NIS can directly predict malnutrition.PG-SGA and NIS can be used for nutritional monitoring in esophageal cancer patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Thoracic radiation (TRT) benefits local control undoubtedly and survival with some minor controversy in extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) patients undergoing radiotherapy in the chemoradiotherapy era. However, whether TRT could further enhance the benefit of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) maintenance on outcomes in the immunotherapy era is still unclear. This study aims to investigate the role of consolidative TRT in ES-SCLC patients receiving first-line chemoimmunotherapy followed by immunotherapy maintenance. MATERIALS/METHODS Outcomes of patients who were treated with first-line chemo-immunotherapy followed by ICIs maintenance for ES-SCLC were reviewed. Based on TRT or not, patients were allocated to TRT group or non-TRT group. Progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and local-recurrence free survival (LRFS) were calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by log-rank test. RESULTS A total of 100 patients with no progressive disease after 4 cycles of chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed between January 2020 and December 2021 and were allocated into TRT group (n = 47) and non-TRT group (n = 53). The median follow-up time was 20.3 months. The median PFS and OS in TRT were 9.1 months and 21.8 months, versus 8.8 months (p = 0.93) and 24.3 months (p = 0.63), respectively, in non-TRT. ICIs agents consisted of Durvalumab (59.0%) and Atezolizumab (41.0%). The median dose of TRT is 50 Gy (IQR: 45 - 54), while the median interval time from chemotherapy completion to TRT was 31 days (IQR: 12 - 44.5). Only 10 (21.3%) patients terminated ICIs in the period of TRT. The rate of intrathoracic progression after the first-line therapy in TRT significantly decreased compared to that with non-TRT (20.0% versus 55.9%, p = 0.003). The median LRFS time in TRT was not reached, but significantly longer than 10.8 months in non-TRT (HR = 0.27, p < 0.01). Second-line chemotherapy significantly prolonged survival compared to that with chemo-free patients (mOS: 24.5 vs. 21.4 months, p = 0.026). The subgroup analysis showed a trend of patients with brain metastases benefit from TRT (21.8 versus 13.7 months, HR 0.61, p = 0.38) while liver metastases did not (13.3 versus 15.0 months, HR 1.80, p = 0.21). Of 47 patients with TRT, only 10.6% of patients experienced grade 3 radiation-induced pneumonitis, while no grade 4 or 5 adverse events occurred. None of patients experienced grade ≥ 3 treatment-related cardiac events. CONCLUSION Consolidative TRT in the period of immunotherapy maintenance followed first-line chemo-immunotherapy did not prolong OS and PFS but increased LRFS in ES-SCLC.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the molluscicidal activity of surfactin against Oncomelania hupensis, so as to provide the experimental basis for use of Bacillus for killing O. hupensis. METHODS O. hupensis snails were collected from schistosomiasisendemic foci of Wuhu City on September 2022, and Schistosoma japonicum-infected snails were removed. Then, 60 snails were immersed in surfactin at concentrations of 2, 1, 0.5, 0.25, 0.125 mg/mL and 0.062 5 mg/mL for 24, 48, 72 hours at 26 °C, while ultrapure water-treated snails served as controls. The median lethal concentration (LC50) of surfactin against O. hupensis snails was estimated. O. hupensis snails were immersed in surfactin at a concentration of 24 h LC50 and ultrapure water, and then stained with propidium iodide (PI). The PI uptake in haemocyte was observed in O. hupensis snails using fluorescence microscopy. RESULTS The mortality of O. hupensis was 5.0% following immersion in surfactin at a concentration of 0.062 5 mg/mL for 24 h, and the mortality was 100.0% following immersion in surfactin at a concentration of 2 mg/mL for 72 h, while no snail mortality was observed in the control group. There were significant differences in the mortality of O. hupensis in each surfactin treatment groups at 24 (χ2 = 180.150, P < 0.05), 48 h (χ2 = 176.786, P < 0.05) and 72 h (χ2 = 216.487, P < 0.05), respectively. The average mortality rates of O. hupensis were 38.9% (140/360), 62.2% (224/360) and 83.3% (300/360) 24, 48 h and 72 h post-immersion in surfactin, respectively (χ2 = 150.264, P < 0.05), and the 24, 48 h and 72 h LC50 values of surfactin were 0.591, 0.191 mg/mL and 0.054 mg/mL against O. hupensis snails. Fluorescence microscopy showed more numbers of haemocytes with PI uptake in 0.5 mg/mL surfactintreated O. hupensis snails than in ultrapure water-treated snails for 24 h, and there was a significant difference in the proportion of PI uptake in haemocytes between surfactin-and ultrapure water-treated snails (χ2 = 6.690, P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS Surfactin is active against O. hupensis snails, which may be associated with the alteration in the integrity of haemocyte membrane.

Abstract
Purpose To evaluate differences in the choroidal vortex vein drainage system (VV) in eyes between patients with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) and unaffected individuals using ultra-widefield optical coherence tomography angiography (UWF-OCTA). Methods In this cross-sectional observational study, 40 eyes of patients with CSC and 28 eyes of healthy volunteers were included. The analysis involved the use of UWF-OCTA to analyze the proportion of the choroidal vortex vein drainage system (VV%), choroidal thickness, choroidal vascular volume (CVV), and choroidal vascularity index (CVI) of the VV in each drainage quadrant. The location relationship between the leakage points in fluorescein angiography and the VV was also explored. Results A within-group analysis of VV% showed a statistically significant difference in the CSC group (P < 0.001) but not in the control group (P = 0.270). Compared to healthy eyes, CSC eyes had a significantly larger CVV and higher CVI in all regions (all P < 0.05). The superotemporal (ST) drainage system had the largest CVV and thickest choroidal layer among the four drainage quadrants (all P < 0.05) in CSC eyes. The leakage rate in the ST quadrant was significantly higher than that in the inferotemporal quadrant (P < 0.001). Conclusions CSC eyes have an asymmetric vortex vein drainage system, with relative hyperperfusion in all VV. Further, the preferential drainage route of the submacular choroid may be the ST drainage system in CSC eyes. Translational Relevance Targeting the imbalanced drainage system could be a potential therapeutic approach for CSC.

Abstract
The use of transposase in cell line development (CLD) programs has experienced increased popularity over the past decade. However, few studies have described the mechanism of action and the genomic and phenotypic characteristics of clones derived from transposase. Additionally, how these traits impact long-term bioproduction is unknown. Here, we use chromosome painting, deep sequencing, and ddPCR to characterize the unique fingerprints associated with transposase-derived clones. Transposase reduces the cellular pool of transient vector as early as three days post transfection following transfection and expedites stable pool establishment by up to two weeks. Furthermore, recombinant DNA expression is significantly improved up to ∼3 fold along with a greater balance of antibody heavy and light chain transcripts, resulting in higher titers in transposase generated pools. Transposase derived pools contained an often innumerable number of integration sites, representing a vast increase in integration site diversity over randomly generated pools, which were bottlenecked at 1-3 integration sites per pool. These transposase mediated integrations typically occurred in clean singlets, free of genomic scars such as deletions, inversions, and other modifications associated with legacy transfection methods which exhibited higher copy numbers per integration site. Relative declines in gene expression occur with copy number increase in the randomly generated, but not the transposase derived clones. Furthermore, transposase-derived clones were more likely to exhibit enhanced a long term stability profile, including product quality attributes such as mannose-5. This improved stability may result from circumventing mechanisms associated with the silencing of tandem repeats. Thus, transposase-mediated approaches can provide multifaceted molecular and phenotypic advantages in cell line development when compared to legacy random-integration methods.

Abstract
Purpose This study aimed to investigate the age-dependent anti-angiogenic capability of melatonin in choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms. Methods In the present study, a laser-induced CNV model was established in both young (three months of age) and old (18 months of age) mice, and the size of CNV lesions and vascular leakage was detected by morphological and imaging examination. Next, Western blot and immunostaining were used to observe the levels of M2 markers, senescence-related markers, and molecules involved in IL-10/STAT3 pathway. Additionally, colivelin was used to study the effect of IL-10/STAT3 pathway activation on the expression of M2 markers and senescence-related markers by Western blot and immunostaining. Finally, the effects of colivelin on melatonin-induced reduction of CNV size and vascular leakage in mice at different ages were assessed using morphological and imaging examination. Results Our results revealed that aging promoted M2 macrophage/microglia polarization, and aggravated CNV and vascular leakage. Melatonin significantly inhibited the M2 polarization of senescent macrophage/microglia and reduced the CNV area and vascular leakage. Moreover, melatonin markedly suppressed IL-10/STAT3 pathway activation in the macrophage/microglia of old mice, and STAT3 activator colivelin reversed the suppressive effect of melatonin on M2 polarization of senescent macrophage/microglia and laser-induced CNV in old mice. Conclusions Our data demonstrated that melatonin significantly prevented the M2 polarization of senescent macrophage/microglia by inhibiting the IL-10/STAT3 pathway, and eventually attenuated senescence-associated CNV. These findings suggested that melatonin could serve as a promising therapeutic agent to treat CNV and other age-related ocular diseases.

Abstract
Sound-induced flash illusion (SiFI) is the illusion that participants perceive incorrectly that the number of visual flashes is equal to the number of auditory beeps when presented within 100 ms. Although previous studies found that repetition suppression can reduce an individual's perceptual sensitivity to the SiFI, there is not yet a consensus as to how visual adaptation affects the SiFI. In the present study, we added prolonged adapting visual stimuli prior to the presentation of audiovisual stimuli to investigate whether the bottom-up factor of adaptation affects the SiFI. The adapting visual stimuli consisted of one or two of the same visual stimuli that lasted for 2 minutes in succession, followed by the audiovisual stimuli. Both adaptation conditions showed SiFI effects. The accuracy of adapting double-flashes was significantly lower than that of in adapting a single flash for the fission illusion. Our analyses indicated that such a pattern could be attributed to a lower d' in adapting double-flashes than in adapting a single flash. However, the accuracy, discriminability and criterion were not significantly different between the two adaptation conditions because of the instability of the fusion illusion. Thus, the present study indicated that the reduced perceptual sensitivity based on visual adaptation could enhance the fission illusion in multisensory integration.

Pseudorabies virus (PRV) is considered to be a promising oncolytic virus that has potential as a cancer gene therapy drug. In this study, PRV-DCD-1-70 was used as a vector to carry exogenous genes IL-18, IFN-γ and PH20 to construct novel recombinant PRV, rPRV-PH20 and rPRV-IL-18-γ-PH20, and their tumorolytic effects were evaluated in vitro and in vivo. Our study showed that recombinant PRV lysed all four tumor cell lines, Pan02, EMT-6, CT26 and H446, and rPRV-IL-18-γ-PH20 showed the best tumor lysis effect. Further studies in mice bearing Pan02 tumors showed that recombinant PRV, especially rPRV-IL-18-γ-PH20, were able to inhibit tumor growth. Moreover, an immunohistochemical analysis indicated that the recombinant PRV effectively increased the infiltration of CD4+T and CD8+T cells and enhanced the anti-tumor immune response of the organism in vivo. Overall, PRV carrying PH20 and IL-18-γ exogenous genes demonstrated anti-tumor effects, providing a foundation for the further development and application of PRV as a novel tumor oncolytic virus vector.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To improve the classical 4-vessel occlusion (4VO) model established by Pulsinelli and Brierley. METHODS Thirty-two male SD rats were randomized into sham operation group, I4VO-Con10 group, I4VO-Int10 group and I4VO-Int15 group. The sham surgery group underwent exposure of the bilateral vertebral arteries and carotid arteries without occlusion to block blood flow. The I4VO-Con10 group experienced continuous ischemia by occluding the bilateral vertebral arteries and carotid arteries for 10 minutes followed by reperfusion for 24 hours. The I4VO-Int10 and I4VO-Int15 groups were subjected to intermittent ischemia. The I4VO- Int10 group underwent 5 minutes of ischemia, followed by 5 minutes of reperfusion and another 5 minutes of ischemia, and then reperfusion for 24 hours. The I4VO-Int15 group experienced 5 minutes of ischemia followed by two cycles of 5 minutes of reperfusion and 5 minutes of ischemia, and then reperfusion for 24 hours. The regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) was monitored with laser Doppler scanning, and survival of the rats was observed. HE staining was used to observe hippocampal pathologies to determine the optimal method for modeling. Another 48 rats were randomized into 6 groups, including a sham operation group and 5 model groups established using the optimal method. The 5 I4VO model groups were further divided based on the reperfusion time points (1, 3, 7, 14, and 28 days) into I4VO-D1, I4VO-D3, I4VO-D7, I4VO- D14, and I4VO- D28 groups. Body weight changes and survival of the rats were recorded. HE staining was used to observe morphological changes in the hippocampal, retinal and optic tract tissues. The Y-maze test and light/dark box test were used to evaluate cognitive and visual functions of the rats in I4VO-D28 group. RESULTS Occlusion for 5 min for 3 times at the interval of 5 min was the optimal method for 4VO modeling. In the latter 48 rats, the body weight was significantly lower than that of the sham-operated rats at 1, 3, 7, 14 and 28 days after modeling without significant difference in survival rate among the groups. The rats with intermittent vessel occlusion exhibited progressive deterioration of hippocampal neuronal injury and neuronal loss. Cognitive impairment was observed in the rats in I4VO-D28 group, but no obvious ischemic injury of the retina or the optic tract was detected. CONCLUSION The improved 4VO model can successfully mimic the main pathological processes of global cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury without causing visual impairment in rats.

Abstract
The host stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signaling pathway is a major innate immune sensing pathway, and the stimulation of this pathway within antigen-presenting cells shows promise in targeting immune-suppressed tumors. Macrophages resident in tumors exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and enhance tumor growth and development. Polarizing such macrophages towards a pro-inflammatory phenotype is an effective strategy for tumor suppression. In the present study, we observed that the STING pathway was inactivated in breast and lung carcinomas, and a positive correlation existed between STING and macrophage markers in these tumors. We found that vanillic acid (VA) could stimulate the STING/TBK1/IRF3 pathway. VA mediated the production of type I IFN and promoted macrophage polarization into the M1 phenotype; this activity was dependent on STING activation. A direct-contact co-culture model and a transwell co-culture model revealed that macrophages with VA-induced STING activation exhibited anti-proliferative effects on SKBR3 and H1299 cells, although a STING antagonist and M2 macrophage-related cytokines alleviated this anti-proliferative effect. Further investigation indicated that phagocytosis and apoptosis-inducing effects were the major mediators of the anti-tumor effect of VA-treated macrophages. Mechanistically, VA promoted the polarization of macrophages to a M1 phenotype via IL-6R/JAK signaling, resulting in enhanced phagocytosis and apoptosis-induction effects. Additionally, STING activation-induced IFNβ production also participated in the apoptosis mediated by VA-treated macrophage in SKBR3 and H1299 cells. Mouse models with 4 T1 tumors confirmed the anti-tumor properties of VA in vivo and revealed the infiltration of VA-induced cytotoxic T cells into the tumors. These data suggest that VA is an effective agonist of STING and provides a new perspective for cancer immunotherapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate the influence of 12 weeks of basketball training on college students' heart function. SUBJECTS AND METHODS The subjects were 30 college male basketball players. Carry out 8-week interval training, monitor the training load and interval time of athletes, and strictly control the heart rate during the interval. Before and after training, we used safe and effective experimental instruments - without any damage to the athletes - to detect the relevant indicators of the athletes' physiological functions; hence we compared and analyzed the various indicators before and after training. RESULTS The time domain indexes Root Mean Square of Successive Differences (RMSSD), Statistically Determined Spatial Drift (SDSD), percentage of NN50 in the total number of NN intervals (PNN50), and Standard Deviation of all NN intervals for all 5-min segment (SDNN) after training were significantly higher than those before training, and the differences were statistically significant (p<0.05). Average (Avag) and Statistically Determined Allocation Weights (SDAW) after training were significantly higher than those before training, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05); Asymmetry (Asym) and Tension index (TI) were significantly lower than those before training, the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05), Application Information Index (ApInf) had no significant difference (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in shooting hit rate (p>0.05). The speed of the 8-character dribble in the whole field after training was significantly lower than that before training, and the differences were statistically significant (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in average jump height, maximum jump height, average time in the air, and best jump time in the air after training (p>0.05). For the test of athletes' explosive power, five vertical jumps in situ were selected for testing, and the jump height and time in the air of each vertical jump were counted to calculate the maximum and average values of five vertical jumps. The results showed that there was no significant change in the explosive force of the athletes' lower limbs after training. The reason may be that strength training needs to follow the principles of heavy load, specialization, exercise sequence and reasonable interval. The intermittent training method used during training is not specialized in strength training, and the reasonable interval of strength training was not considered in the training process. CONCLUSIONS Intermittent training can increase the tension of the cardiac vagus nerve of college basketball players, increase the cardiac reserve function and the load that the heart can bear, so that the cardiac function can be improved well. It can improve the cardiopulmonary function and aerobic work ability of college basketball players. It can improve the adjustment ability of the heart, lungs, liver, and other organs of college basketball players. It also can increase the load intensity that the central nerve can bear and improve the function of the central nerve and autonomic nerve. The anti-fatigue ability of athletes can be improved. It can improve the speed quality of college basketball players.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To utilized the baseline data of the Beijing Fangshan Family Cohort Study, and to estimate whether the association between a healthy lifestyle and arterial stiffness might be modified by genetic effects. METHODS Probands and their relatives from 9 rural areas in Fangshan district, Beijing were included in this study. We developed a healthy lifestyle score based on five lifestyle behaviors: smoking, alcohol consumption, body mass index (BMI), dietary pattern, and physical activity. The measurements of arterial stiffness were brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) and ankle-brachial index (ABI). A variance component model was used to determine the heritability of arterial stiffness. Genotype-environment interaction effects were performed by the maximum likelihood methods. Subsequently, 45 candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in the glycolipid metabolism pathway were selected, and generalized estimated equations were used to assess the gene-environment interaction effects between particular genetic loci and healthy lifestyles. RESULTS A total of 6 302 study subjects across 3 225 pedigrees were enrolled in this study, with a mean age of 56.9 years and 45.1% male. Heritability of baPWV and ABI was 0.360 (95%CI: 0.302-0.418) and 0.243 (95%CI: 0.175-0.311), respectively. Significant genotype-healthy diet interaction on baPWV and genotype-BMI interaction on ABI were observed. Following the findings of genotype-environment interaction analysis, we further identified two SNPs located in ADAMTS9-AS2 and CDH13 might modify the association between healthy dietary pattern and arterial stiffness, indicating that adherence to a healthy dietary pattern might attenuate the genetic risk on arterial stiffness. Three SNPs in CDKAL1, ATP8B2 and SLC30A8 were shown to interact with BMI, implying that maintaining BMI within a healthy range might decrease the genetic risk of arterial stiffness. CONCLUSION The current study discovered that genotype-healthy dietary pattern and genotype-BMI interactions might affect the risk of arterial stiffness. Furthermore, we identified five genetic loci that might modify the relationship between healthy dietary pattern and BMI with arterial stiffness. Our findings suggested that a healthy lifestyle may reduce the genetic risk of arterial stiffness. This study has laid the groundwork for future research exploring mechanisms of arterial stiffness.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare the expected population impact of benefit and risk of aspirin treatment strategies for the primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases recommended by different guidelines in the Chinese Electronic Health Records Research in Yinzhou (CHERRY) study. METHODS A decision-analytic Markov model was used to simulate and compare different strategies of aspirin treatment, including: Strategy ①: Aspirin treatment for Chinese adults aged 40-69 years with a high 10-year cardiovascular risk, recommended by the 2020 Chinese Guideline on the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases; Strategy ②: Aspirin treatment for Chinese adults aged 40-59 years with a high 10-year cardiovascular risk, recommended by the 2022 United States Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation Statement on Aspirin Use to Prevent Cardiovascular Disease; Strategy ③: Aspirin treatment for Chinese adults aged 40-69 years with a high 10-year cardiovascular risk and blood pressure well-controlled (< 150/90 mmHg), recommended by the 2019 Guideline on the Assessment and Management of Cardio-vascular Risk in China. The high 10-year cardiovascular risk was defined as the 10-year predicted risk over 10% based on the 2019 World Health Organization non-laboratory model. The Markov model simulated different strategies for ten years (cycles) with parameters mainly from the CHERRY study or published literature. Quality-adjusted life year (QALY) and the number needed to treat (NNT) for each ischemic event (including myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke) were calculated to assess the effectiveness of the different strategies. The number needed to harm (NNH) for each bleeding event (including hemorrhagic stroke and gastrointestinal bleeding) was calculated to assess the safety. The NNT for each net benefit (i.e., the difference of the number of ischemic events could be prevented and the number of bleeding events would be added) was also calculated. One-way sensitivity analysis on the uncertainty of the incidence rate of cardiovascular diseases and probabilistic sensitivity analysis on the uncertainty of hazard ratios of interventions were conducted. RESULTS A total of 212 153 Chinese adults, were included in this study. The number of people who were recommended for aspirin treatment Strategies ①-③ was 34 235, 2 813, and 25 111, respectively. The Strategy ③ could gain the most QALY of 403 [95% uncertainty interval (UI): 222-511] years. Compared with Strategy ①, Strategy ③ had similar efficiency but better safety, with the extra NNT of 4 (95%UI: 3-4) and NNH of 39 (95%UI: 19-132). The NNT per net benefit was 131 (95%UI: 102-239) for Strategy ①, 256 (95%UI: 181-737) for Strategy ②, and 132 (95%UI: 104-232) for Strategy ③, making Strategy ③ the most favorable option with a better QALY and safety, along with similar efficiency in terms of net benefit. The results were consistent in the sensitivity analyses. CONCLUSION The aspirin treatment strategies recommended by the updated guidelines on the primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases showed a net benefit for high-risk Chinese adults from developed areas. However, to balance effectiveness and safety, aspirin is suggested to be used for primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases with consideration for blood pressure control, resulting in better intervention efficiency.

Abstract
The relationship framework between electroencephalogram (EEG) signals and subjective perception during pilots' missions was established to improve pilots' training efficiency and flight safety. Primarily, this study constructs a real flight scene through virtual reality (VR) and then obtains EEG data in simulated scenes. Researchers use VR technology to build a mission simulation room and then acquire EEG data from participants wearing EEG acquisition devices in the simulated room. The experimental process is divided into flight simulation and a questionnaire survey. Based on the participants' EEG analysis, the researchers verified the changes of β rhythm under a high-difficulty operation mission. In addition, this study infers the mechanism of affecting pilots' mental workload under high-difficulty operation by analyzing the correlation between subjective questionnaire results and β rhythms. The results showed that in the context of pilots performing flight missions in the aircraft space environment, the pilots' mental load had the most excellent rhythmic relationship with the regions representing β rhythm. Therefore, a comprehensive experimental framework constructed in this study based on virtual simulation space to analyze the relationship between EEG and NASA-TLX subjective questionnaire provides a set of more accurate reference information for the design of a pilot training system based on pilot training efficiency and flight safety.
