Abstract
We report the complexation of poly(ethylene glycol) conjugated double-stranded oligoDNA (PEG-(ds)oligoDNA) with imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) to form polyelectrolyte complex aggregates (PCAs). The PEG-(ds)oligoDNA conjugates are prepared following a solution-phase coupling reaction. The binding of PEG-(ds)oligoDNA with either 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([BMIM][BF4]) or 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([HMIM][BF4]) is confirmed by a fluorescence displacement assay. Both ILs show stronger binding affinity to PEG-(ds)oligoDNA than bare (ds)oligoDNA due to the PEG-assisted increase in IL cation concentration in the vicinity of (ds)oligoDNA. The complex morphology formed at various amine (N) to phosphate (P) ratios is also examined. At high N/P ratios above 4, nanosized PCAs are formed, driven by a counterion-mediated attraction among the IL-bound (ds)oligoDNA segments and stabilized by the conjugated PEG segments. The PCAs exhibit near-neutral surface charges and resistance to DNase degradation, suggesting their potential use in gene delivery applications.

Abstract
This work demonstrates the low-temperature operation of solid-state lithium metal batteries (LMBs) through the development of a fluorinated and plastic-crystal-embedded elastomeric electrolyte (F-PCEE). The F-PCEE is formed via polymerization-induced phase separation between the polymer matrix and plastic crystal phase, offering a high mechanical strain (≈300%) and ionic conductivity (≈0.23 mS cm-1) at -10 °C. Notably, strong phase separation between two phases leads to the selective distribution of lithium (Li) salts within the plastic crystal phase, enabling superior elasticity and high ionic conductivity at low temperatures. The F-PCEE in a Li/LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 full cell maintains 74.4% and 42.5% of discharge capacity at -10 °C and -20 °C, respectively, compared to that at 25 °C. Furthermore, the full cell exhibits 85.3% capacity retention after 150 cycles at -10 °C and a high cut-off voltage of 4.5 V, representing one of the highest cycling performances among the reported solid polymer electrolytes for low-temperature LMBs. This work attributes the prolonged cycling lifetime of F-PCEE at -10 °C to the great mechanical robustness to suppress the Li-dendrite growth and ability to form superior LiF-rich interphases. This study establishes the design strategies of elastomeric electrolytes for developing solid-state LMBs operating at low temperatures and high voltages.

Abstract
Influenza viruses cause highly contagious respiratory diseases that cause millions of deaths worldwide. Rapid detection of influenza viruses is essential for accurate diagnosis and the initiation of appropriate treatment. We developed a loop-mediated isothermal amplification and lateral flow assay (LAMP-LFA) capable of simultaneously detecting influenza A and influenza B. Primer sets for influenza A and influenza B were designed to target conserved regions of segment 7 and the nucleoprotein gene, respectively. Optimized through various primer set ratios, the assay operated at 62 °C for 30 min. For a total of 243 (85 influenza A positive, 58 influenza B positive and 100 negative) nasopharyngeal swab samples, the performance of the influenza A/B multiplex LAMP-LFA was compared with that of the commercial AllplexTM Respiratory Panel 1 assay (Seegene, Seoul, Korea). The influenza A/B multiplex LAMP-LFA demonstrated a specificity of 98% for the non-infected clinical samples, along with sensitivities of 94.1% for the influenza A clinical samples and 96.6% for the influenza B clinical samples, respectively. The influenza A/B multiplex LAMP-LFA showed high sensitivity and specificity, indicating that it is reliable for use in a low-resource environment.

Abstract
This study presents a global strategy for the transsulfuration of intracellular thiols (RSH) to persulfides (RSSH). Thiiranes comprising fluorenyl/diphenyl and malonate ester moieties directly convert intercellular RSH to low-molecular-weight RSSH in cells. The efficiency of transsulfuration is determined by counting the number of olefins produced as byproducts, providing ratiometric signals for the corresponding persulfide production. Specifically, the direct and rapid protein S-persulfidation by thiirane is validated. Thiiranes are expected to play a crucial role in the study of sulfur signaling.

Abstract
Non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs) significantly enhance photovoltaic performance in organic solar cells (OSCs) using halogenated solvents and additives. However, these solvents are environmentally detrimental and unsuitable for industrial-scale production, and the issue of OSCs' poor long-term stability persists. This report introduces eight asymmetric NFAs (IPCnF-BBO-IC2F, IPCnF-BBO-IC2Cl, IPCnCl-BBO-IC2F, and IPCnCl-BBO-IC2Cl, where n = 1 and 2). These NFAs comprise a 12,13-bis(2-butyloctyl)-3,9-diundecyl-12,13-dihydro-[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-e]thieno[2'',3'':4',5']thieno[2',3':4,5]pyrrolo[3,2-g]thieno[2',3':4,5]thieno-[3,2-b]indole (BBO) core. One end of the core attaches to a mono- or di-halogenated 9H-indeno[1,2-b]pyrazine-2,3-dicarbonitrile (IPC) end group (IPC1F, IPC1Cl, IPC2F, or IPC2Cl), while the other end connects to a 2-(5,6-dihalo-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylidene)malononitrile (IC) end group (IC2F or IC2Cl). The optical and electronic properties of these NFAs can be finely tuned by controlling the number of halogen atoms. Crucially, these NFAs demonstrate excellent compatibility with PM6 even in o-xylene, facilitating the production of additive-free OSCs. The di-halogenated IPC-based NFAs outperform their mono-halogenated counterparts in photovoltaic performance within OSCs. Remarkably, the di-halogenated IPC-based NFAs maintain 94‒98% of their initial PCEs over 2000 h in air without encapsulation, indicating superior long-term device stability. These findings imply that the integration of di-halogenated IPCs in asymmetric NFA design offers a promising route to efficient, stable OSCs manufactured through environmentally friendly processes.

Abstract
The tunable properties of 2D transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMDs) materials are extensively investigated for high-performance and wavelength-tunable optoelectronic applications. However, the precise modification of large-scale systems for practical optoelectronic applications remains a challenge. In this study, a wafer-scale atomic assembly process to produce 2D multinary (binary, ternary, and quaternary) TMDs for broadband photodetection is demonstrated. The large-area growth of homogeneous MoS2, Ni0.06Mo0.26S0.68, and Ni0.1Mo0.9S1.79Se0.21 is carried out using a succinct coating of the single-source precursor and subsequent thermal decomposition combined with thermal evaporation of the chalcogen powder. The optoelectrical properties of the multinary TMDs are dependent on the combination of heteroatoms. The maximum photoresponsivity of the MoS2-, Ni0.06Mo0.26S0.68-, and Ni0.1Mo0.9S1.79Se0.21-based photodetectors is 3.51 × 10-4, 1.48, and 0.9 A W-1 for 532 nm and 0.063, 0.42, and 1.4 A W-1 for 1064 nm, respectively. The devices exhibited excellent photoelectrical properties, which is highly beneficial for visible and near-infrared (NIR) photodetection.

Abstract
Human milk oligosaccharides (HMO) affect gut microbiota during neonatal development, particularly with respect to the immune system. Bovine milk-based infant formulas have low oligosaccharide contents. Thus, efforts to fortify infant formulas with HMO are being undertaken. Two major HMO, 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL) and 6'-sialyllactose (6'-SL), exert anti-inflammatory effects; however, the associations between anti-inflammatory effects induced by 2'-FL and 6'-SL co-treatment and gut microbiota composition and metabolite modulation remain unclear. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the effects of a mixture of these HMO. To determine the optimal HMO ratio for anti-inflammatory effects and elucidate its mode of action, LPS-induced inflammatory HT-29 epithelial cells and intestinal inflamed suckling mice were treated with various mixtures of 2'-FL and 6'-SL. 2'-FL:6'-SL ratio of 5:1 was identified as the most effective pre-treatment HMO mixture in vitro; thus, this ratio was selected and used for low, middle, and high-dose treatments for subsequent in vivo studies. In vivo, high-dose HMO treatment restored LPS-induced inflammation symptoms, such as body weight loss, colon length reduction, histological structural damage, and intestinal gene expression related to inflammatory responses. High-dose HMO was the only treatment that modulated the major phyla Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes and the genera Ihubacter, Mageeibacillus, and Saccharofermentans. These changes in microbial composition were correlated with intestinal inflammation-related gene expression and short-chain fatty acid production. To our knowledge, our study is the first to report the effects of Ihubacter, Mageeibacillus, and Saccharofermentans on short chain fatty acid levels, which can subsequently affect inflammatory cytokine and tight junction protein levels. Conclusively, the HMO mixture exerted anti-inflammatory effects through changes in microbiota and metabolite production. These findings suggested that supplementation of infant formula with HMO may benefit formula-fed infants by forming unique microbiota contributing to neonatal development.

Abstract
In children, psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) are related to risk of psychosis, schizophrenia, and other mental disorders. Maladaptive cognitive functioning, influenced by genetic and environmental factors, is hypothesized to mediate the relationship between these factors and childhood PLEs. Using large-scale longitudinal data, we tested the relationships of genetic and environmental factors (such as familial and neighborhood environment) with cognitive intelligence and their relationships with current and future PLEs in children. We leveraged large-scale multimodal data of 6,602 children from the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development Study. Linear mixed model and a novel structural equation modeling (SEM) method that allows estimation of both components and factors were used to estimate the joint effects of cognitive phenotypes polygenic scores (PGSs), familial and neighborhood socioeconomic status (SES), and supportive environment on NIH Toolbox cognitive intelligence and PLEs. We adjusted for ethnicity (genetically defined), schizophrenia PGS, and additionally unobserved confounders (using computational confound modeling). Our findings indicate that lower cognitive intelligence and higher PLEs are significantly associated with lower PGSs for cognitive phenotypes, lower familial SES, lower neighborhood SES, and less supportive environments. Specifically, cognitive intelligence mediates the effects of these factors on PLEs, with supportive parenting and positive school environments showing the strongest impact on reducing PLEs. This study underscores the influence of genetic and environmental factors on PLEs through their effects on cognitive intelligence. Our findings have policy implications in that improving school and family environments and promoting local economic development may enhance cognitive and mental health in children.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To describe the hyperproliferation of Elschnig pearl-type posterior capsule opacification and concurrent uveitis in two canine eyes after phacoemulsification, followed by spontaneous resolution of the Elschnig pearls. ANIMAL STUDIED A 10-year-old castrated male Spitz (Case 1) and a 4-year-old spayed female Bichon Frise (Case 2). PROCEDURE Elschnig pearls proliferating beyond the anterior capsulotomy site were observed in the right eye 10 months after bilateral diabetic cataract surgery (Case 1) and 7 months after unilateral cataract surgery (Case 2). In both cases, hyperproliferation occurred where the anterior capsule did not overlap with the intraocular lens (IOL), and was accompanied by aqueous flare. In Case 1, the pearls extended from the anterior capsule and adhered to the iris, causing focal posterior synechia. No other possible causes of uveitis were apparent. RESULTS Initially, uveitis severity improved after the administration of topical and systemic anti-inflammatory drugs. However, uveitis recurred when the dosage of anti-inflammatory treatment was reduced. The Elschnig pearls underwent morphological changes throughout the follow-up period. In both cases, the pearls beyond the anterior capsulotomy resolved spontaneously after 5 months. Only a few pearls remained between the IOL and posterior capsule, and no recurrence of pearl proliferation was observed at the last follow-up. CONCLUSIONS To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of spontaneous Elschnig pearl regression in dogs. Lens-induced uveitis (LIU) may have been caused by anterior chamber hyperproliferative pearls. LIU associated with hyperproliferative pearls may be managed with appropriate anti-inflammatory treatment and monitoring.

Abstract
PURPOSE The psycho-emotional symptom experiences and health-related factors that influence the quality of life of adolescents with Moyamoya disease are still not fully understood. The aim of this study is to identify the daily physical and accompanying psychological symptom experiences of such adolescents, and to examine how health-related factors contribute to their quality of life. DESIGN AND METHOD This study employed a descriptive cross-sectional research design. Data on a total of 134 adolescents with Moyamoya disease was analyzed in order to develop a path analysis. Data were collected from October 2019 to January 2021 in South Korea. The theory of salutogenesis was employed in order to develop a hypothetical model for this path analysis. Participants were given a self-reporting questionnaire. Descriptive analysis and path analysis were conducted based on the results. RESULTS Adolescents with Moyamoya disease experienced several negative emotions simultaneously, regardless of the severity of their physical symptoms. The path analysis revealed that stress, a sense of coherence, behavior, and the support of friends were significant contributors to adolescents' quality of life. CONCLUSIONS Adolescents with Moyamoya disease have multifaceted symptom experiences in their daily lives. To enhance their quality of life, it is crucial to provide support that can help strengthen their capacity for stress management and enhance their sense of coherence. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS This study provides evidence that nurses should offer anticipatory information to adolescents with Moyamoya disease regarding the symptoms they will frequently encounter, and develop interventions to enhance their quality of life.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The emergence of novel infectious diseases has amplified the urgent need for effective prevention strategies, especially ones targeting vulnerable populations such as children. Factors such as the high incidence of both emerging and existing infectious diseases, delays in vaccinations, and routine exposure in communal settings heighten children's susceptibility to infections. Despite this pressing need, a comprehensive exploration of research trends in this domain remains lacking. This study aims to address this gap by employing text mining and modeling techniques to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature, thereby identifying emerging research trends in infectious disease prevention among children. METHODS A cross-sectional text mining approach was adopted, focusing on journal articles published between January 1, 2003, and August 31, 2022. These articles, related to infectious disease prevention in children, were sourced from databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, MEDLINE (Ovid), Scopus, and Korean RISS. The data underwent preprocessing using the Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK) in Python, with a semantic network analysis and topic modeling conducted using R software. RESULTS The final dataset comprised 509 journal articles extracted from multiple databases. The study began with a word frequency analysis to pinpoint relevant themes, subsequently visualized through a word cloud. Dominant terms encompassed "vaccination," "adolescent," "infant," "parent," "family," "school," "country," "household," "community," "HIV," "HPV," "COVID-19," "influenza," and "diarrhea." The semantic analysis identified "age" as a key term across infection, control, and intervention discussions. Notably, the relationship between "hand" and "handwashing" was prominent, especially in educational contexts linked with "school" and "absence." Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling further delineated seven topics related to infectious disease prevention for children, encompassing (1) educational programs, (2) vaccination efforts, (3) family-level responses, (4) care for immunocompromised individuals, (5) country-specific responses, (6) school-based strategies, and (7) persistent threats from established infectious diseases. CONCLUSION The study emphasizes the indispensable role of personalized interventions tailored for various child demographics, highlighting the pivotal contributions of both parental guidance and school participation. CLINICAL RELEVANCE The study provides insights into the complex public health challenges associated with preventing and managing infectious diseases in children. The insights derived could inform the formulation of evidence-based public health policies, steering practical interventions and fostering interdisciplinary synergy for holistic prevention strategies.

Abstract
Solar heat management & green air-conditioning are among the major technologies that could mitigate heat islands phenomenon while minimizing significantly the CO2 global foot-print within the building & automotive sectors. Chromogenic materials in general, and thermochromic smart coatings especially are promising candidates that consent a noteworthy dynamic solar radiation Infrared (NIR-IR) regulation and hence an efficient solar heat management especially with the expected increase of the global seasonal temperature. Within this contribution, two major challenging bottlenecks in vanadium oxide based smart coatings were addressed. It is validated for the first time that the NIR-IR modulation of the optical transmission (∆TTRANS = T(T〈TMIT) - T(T〉TMIT) of Vanadium oxide based smart coatings can be controlled & tuned. This upmost challenging bottle-neck controllability/tunability is confirmed via a genuine approach alongside to a simultaneous drastic reduction of the phase transition temperature TMIT from 68.8 °C to nearly room temperature. More precisely, a substantial thermochromism in multilayered V2O5/V/V2O5 stacks equivalent to that of standard pure VO2 thin films but with a far lower transition temperature, is reported. Such a multilayered V2O5/V/V2O5 thermochromic system exhibited a net control & tunability of the optical transmission modulation in the NIR-IR (∆TTRANS) via the nano-scaled thickness' control of the intermediate Vanadium layer. In addition, the control of ∆TTRANS is accompanied by a tremendous diminution of the thermochromic transition temperature from the elevated bulk value of 68.8 °C to the range of 27.5-37.5 ºC. The observed remarkable and reversible thermochromism in such multilayered nano-scaled system of V2O5/V/V2O5 is likely to be ascribed to a noteworthy interfacial diffusion, and an indirect doping by alkaline ions diffusing from the borosilicate substrate. It is hoped that the current findings would contribute in advancing thermochromic smart window technology and their applications for solar heat management in glass windows in general, skyscraper especially & in the automotive industry. If so, this would open a path to a sustainable green air-conditioning with zero-energy input.

Abstract
Procurement of health information systems (HIS) is a complex and critical task that requires early identification of interoperability requirements. However, specifying adequate requirements is often associated with several challenges. We examined relevant peer-reviewed literature and public documents (policy documents, annual reports, and newspapers) to summarize existing challenges in specifying interoperability requirement during procurement of HISs. In this study, 32 public documents and 2343 peer-reviewed articles were found using Google search engine, Springer, PubMed and ScienceDirect. Collected data were analyzed using a thematic coding schema. Our result shows that challenges related to describing the needs properly, conflicting needs and knowledge gaps are shared between most articles. Further research in the direction of developing a model that can bridge knowledge gaps, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration, and help to avoid fuzzy requirements is needed.

Abstract
Block copolymer self-assembly affords diverse nanostructures, spanning from spheres and cylinders to networks, offering meticulous control over properties and functionalities at the nanoscale. However, creating thermodynamically stable network structures with high packing frustration remains a challenge. In this study, we report a methodology to access diverse network structures such as gyroid, diamond, and primitive phases from diblock copolymers using end group and linker chemistry. The stability of the medial packing of polymer chain ends (plumber's nightmare structure) over skeletal aggregation (gyroid) is attributed to the interplay between the strength of the end-end interactions and the initial shape of the curvature. Our study establishes an approach to develop tailored network structures from block copolymers, providing an important platform for using block copolymers in nanotechnology applications.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate ocular factors that influence the development of corneal calcareous degeneration (CCD) in dogs. ANIMALS AND PROCEDURES The medical records of 96 eyes of dogs with CCD and 288 eyes without CCD were retrospectively reviewed. Dogs with evidence of causative systemic illness associated with CCD were excluded from the study. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the ocular factors associated with the development of CCD. To identify the effect of phosphate-containing eyedrops on CCD, the application periods of phosphate-containing antiglaucoma eyedrops were compared between the glaucomatous eyes in the CCD and non-CCD groups. RESULTS Increased age, brachycephalic breed, keratoconjunctivitis sicca, advanced cataract, history of phacoemulsification, and topical corticosteroid application were significantly associated with CCD development. Glaucoma was significantly overrepresented in the non-CCD group, and the application period of phosphate-containing antiglaucoma eyedrops was significantly longer in eyes with CCD than in those without CCD. CONCLUSIONS Ophthalmic diseases requiring long-term management of ocular inflammation and long-term application of phosphate-containing eyedrops may contribute to the development of CCD. Glaucoma is overrepresented in dogs without CCD, which is thought to be due to the differences in predisposed age and breeds between dogs with glaucoma and CCD.

Abstract
Isozymes are enzymes that catalyze identical biological reactions, yet exhibit slight variations in structures and catalytic efficiency, which enables the precise adjustment of metabolism to fulfill the specific requirements of a particular tissue or stage of development. Methionine aminopeptidase (MetAP) isozymes function a critical role in cleaving N-terminal methionine from nascent proteins to generate functional proteins. In humans, two distinct MetAP types I and II have been identified, with type I further categorized into cytosolic (MetAP1) and mitochondrial (MetAP1D) variants. However, despite extensive structural studies on both bacterial and human cytosolic MetAPs, the structural information remains unavailable for human mitochondrial MetAP. This study was aimed to elucidate the high-resolution structures of human mitochondrial MetAP1D in its apo-, cobalt-, and methionine-bound states. Through a comprehensive analysis of the determined structures and a docking simulation model with mitochondrial substrate peptides, we present mechanistic insights into the cleavage process of the initiator methionine from mitochondrial proteins. Notably, despite the shared features at the active site between the cytosolic and mitochondrial MetAP type I isozymes, we identified distinct structural disparities within the active-site pocket primarily contributed by two specific loops that could play a role in accommodating specific substrates. These structural insights offer a basis for the further exploration of MetAP isozymes as critical players in cellular processes and potential therapeutic applications.

Abstract
Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a very severe disease characterized by high fatality rates and the development of permanent behavioral, psychiatric, and neurological sequelae among survivors. Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), a flavivirus, is responsible for JE. In Asia, Genotype I (GI) has emerged as the dominant strain, replacing Genotype III (GIII). However, no clinically approved drug is available to treat JEV infection, and currently available commercial vaccines derived from JEV GIII strains provide only partial protection against GI. Utilizing a reverse genetics system, this study attempted to produce a novel chimeric JEV strain with high efficacy against JEV GI. Accordingly, a GI/GIII intertypic recombinant strain, namely SA14-GI env, was generated by substituting the E region of the GIII SA14-14-2 strain with that of the GI strain, K05GS. The neurovirulence of the mutant virus was significantly reduced in mice. Analysis of the immunogenicity of the chimeric virus revealed that it induced neutralizing antibodies against JEV GI in mice, and the protective efficacy of SA14-GI env was higher than that of SA14-14-2. These findings suggest that SA14-GI env may be a safe and effective live-attenuated vaccine candidate against JEV GI.

Abstract
Porphyrin dyads (PDMs, where M = Zn and Cu) composed of diphenylporphyrin and tetraphenylporphyrin units, designated as DPDMs and TPDMs, respectively, exhibited remarkable differences in the molecular assemblies depending on the coordination metal ion. Furthermore, TPDMs showed self-sorting behavior during the formation of supramolecular assemblies through the recognition of atomic-level difference.

Abstract
The dipole characteristics of Frenkel excitons and charge-transfer excitons between donor and acceptor molecules in organic heterostructures such as exciplexes are important in organic photonics and optoelectronics. For the bilayer of the organic donor 4,4',4''-tris[(3-methylphenyl)phenylamino]triphenylamine and acceptor 2,4,6-tris(biphenyl-3-yl)-1,3,5-triazine molecules, the exciplexes form aligned dipoles perpendicular to the Frenkel excitons, as observed in back focal plane photoluminescence images. The angular chromism of exciplexes observed in the 100 meV range indicates possible delocalization and angle-sensing photonic applications. The blue shift of the peak position and increase in the linewidth of photoluminescene spectra with increasing excitation power are caused by the repulsive aligned exciplex dipole moments with a long lifetime (4.65 μs). Electroluminescence spectra of the exciplex from organic light-emitting diodes using the bilayer are blue-shifted with increasing bias, suggesting unidirectional alignment of the exciplex dipole moments. The observation of exciplex dipole moment alignments across molecular interfaces can facilitate the controlled coupling of exciton species and increase efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Long-term comparisons of phacoemulsification with topical medication are limited in canine diabetic cataracts. OBJECTIVES To compare outcomes of eyes submitted to phacoemulsification with those of topical medication for canine diabetic cataracts and identify risk factors for complications. METHODS Through medical records review, 150 eyes (76 dogs) with diabetic cataracts were included; 58 eyes (31 dogs) underwent phacoemulsification (phaco-group) and 92 eyes (48 dogs) received ophthalmic solution alone (medication-group). The medication-group was divided into owner-led and vet-led groups depending on who elected not to perform surgery. Comparisons involved time-to-complications, vision, and the number and type of ophthalmic solutions administered. The association between complications and pretreatment clinical findings was investigated. RESULTS No difference was found in complication risk between the phaco and owner-led medication groups. Conversely, the vet-led medication-group had a higher complication risk than the other groups. At the last follow-up, 94.8% of the phaco-group had vision, whereas 7.6% of the medication-group restored some visual axis. Poor glycemic control in the medication-group and younger age in the phaco-group increased complication risk. At 1-year post-treatment, the average number of ophthalmic solutions administered was 1.7 and 2.6 in the phaco and medication groups, respectively. The medication-group used anti-inflammatories the most throughout the follow-up, whereas the phaco-group used anti-inflammatories the most until 1-year post-treatment and lacrimostimulants at 1.5-year post-treatment. CONCLUSIONS For canine diabetic cataracts, phacoemulsification is recommended because it is superior to topical management alone in terms of maintaining vision and reducing the number of ophthalmic solutions required in the long term.

Abstract
A 10-year-old spayed female Maltese dog was presented for hypotony of the right eye (OD) with decreased vision. The dorsomedial region of conjunctiva was partially swollen but the globe remained intact. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy revealed intraocular haemorrhage, uveitis, and a limbal, corneoconjunctival ulcer near the swollen conjunctiva. During ocular ultrasonography (OUS), the sclera became indented and hypotony occurred, implicating a full-thickness scleral wound. Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) confirmed a full-thickness scleral defect, which was surgically apposed. The intraocular pressure normalised and the uveitis subsided post-operatively. OUS and UBM were helpful in suggesting and definitively diagnosing scleral perforation, leading to accurate treatment and good prognosis.

Abstract
Machine learning approaches using satellite imagery are providing accessible ways to infer socioeconomic measures without visiting a region. However, many algorithms require integration of ground-truth data, while regional data are scarce or even absent in many countries. Here we present our human-machine collaborative model which predicts grid-level economic development using publicly available satellite imagery and lightweight subjective ranking annotation without any ground data. We applied the model to North Korea and produced fine-grained predictions of economic development for the nation where data is not readily available. Our model suggests substantial development in the country's capital and areas with state-led development projects in recent years. We showed the broad applicability of our model by examining five of the least developed countries in Asia, covering 400,000 grids. Our method can both yield highly granular economic information on hard-to-visit and low-resource regions and can potentially guide sustainable development programs.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) The urethra may be a critical structure in prostate radiotherapy planning as some studies have shown that higher urethral dose correlates with worse genitourinary (GU) toxicity. Identifying the urethra requires an MRI planning scan or foley catheter insertion at CT planning. Most surrogates have been developed and validated against the urethra identified by a foley catheter. However, the urethral position can shift with catheter placement. We, therefore, aim to validate a simple urethra surrogate model against MRI-defined urethra. The surrogate model can be used to correlate urethra dose-volume parameters (DVP) with late GU toxicity and to apply urethral constraints in those with a CT-only based workflow. MATERIALS/METHODS Thirty-nine MRI-defined urethras from patients in the PACE-C trial were assessed to determine the average position of the urethra in the midline sagittal prostate plane along the ¼ gland, midgland, ¾ gland, apex and 3mm below apex. Using these average positions, a Python script was developed, which places a 10mm diameter circle in the 1/4 gland, midgland, ¾ gland, apex and 3mm below the apex. The observer manually contours a 10mm circle at the prostate base (prostate-bladder neck interface) to infer the urethra position and interpolates the contours. The urethra surrogate model was compared against 20 MRI-defined urethras (within the treatment PTV) in patients treated with 36.25Gy in 5 fractions as part of the PACE-B trial. To assess the surrogate's geometric performance, the Dice similarity coefficient (DSC), Hausdorff distance (HD), mean surface distance to agreement (MDTA) and the percentage of MRI-defined urethra outside the surrogate (UOS) were calculated. The surrogate model's dosimetric performance was assessed by comparing the mean D99, D98, average dose, D50, D2 and D1 using a paired t-test. The D(n) is the dose (Gy) to (n)% of the urethra. RESULTS The median results were: DSC 0.36 (IQR 0.28-0.42), HD 0.88cm (IQR, 0.70-1.04), MDTA 0.24cm (IQR, 0.21-0.28), UOS 29% (IQR, 17-52%). When comparing DVP between the MRI-defined urethra and surrogate urethra, the mean D99, D98 and D95 as 38.8Gy vs 39.1Gy (p = 0.17), 39.3Gy vs 39.5Gy (p = 0.23), 40.1Gy vs 40.4Gy (p = 0.21), respectively. The mean D50, average dose, D2 and D1 was 41.8Gy vs 41.9Gy (p = 0.03), 41.7 vs 41.8Gy (p = 0.04), 42.9Gy vs 43.0Gy (p = 0.05) and 43.0Gy vs 43.1Gy (p = 0.03), respectively. CONCLUSION While there were geometric differences between the surrogate urethra and MRI-defined urethra, there was no statistically significant difference between most urethral dose-volume parameters (D99, D98, D95, and D1). Similarly, the actual differences in urethra DVP were not clinically significant. This surrogate model could be validated in a larger cohort and then used to estimate the urethra position on CT planning scans for dosimetric analysis in those without an MRI planning scan or urinary catheter.

Abstract
Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) were purified without the use of a dispersant by controlling the surface tension and steric repulsion of solvent molecules. This method effectively enhanced the difference in solubilities of impurities and BNNTs. The purification process involved optimizing the alkyl-chains of alcohol solvents and adjusting the concentration of alcohol solvent in water to regulate surface tension and steric repulsion. Among the solvents tested, a 70 wt% t-butylalcohol in water mixture exhibited the highest selective isolation of BNNTs from impurities based on differences in solubilities. This favorable outcome was attributed to the surface tension matching with BNNTs, steric repulsion from bulky alkyl chain structures, and differences in interfacial energy between BNNT-liquid and impurity-liquid interfaces. Through this optimized purification process, impurities were removed to an extent of up to 93.3%. Additionally, the purified BNNTs exhibited a distinct liquid crystal phase, which was not observed in the unpurified BNNTs.

Abstract
Two dogs presented with bilateral pattern-forming corneal opacity. Treatment with topical immunosuppressants was initiated after a complete ophthalmic examination. The response to treatment was assessed by analyzing serial images using slit-lamp biomicroscopy and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). Both dogs responded to topical immunosuppressants; however, the lesions recurred once the treatment was abated or withdrawn. The most effective immunosuppressant in both dogs was 0.03% tacrolimus ointment. Early and continuous treatment with topical immunosuppressants may be necessary to improve corneal clarity and prevent scarring. SD-OCT could provide useful structural information regarding presumed immune-mediated keratitis and aid in monitoring treatment response.

Abstract
High-performance chiroptical synaptic phototransistors are successfully demonstrated using heterojunctions composed of a self-assembled nanohelix of a π-conjugated molecule and a metal oxide semiconductor. To impart strong chiroptical activity to the device, a diketopyrrolopyrrole-based π-conjugated molecule decorated with chiral glutamic acid is newly synthesized; this molecule is capable of supramolecular self-assembly through noncovalent intermolecular interactions. In particular, nanohelix formed by intertwinded fibers with strong and stable chiroptical activity in a solid-film state are obtained through hydrogen-bonding-driven, gelation-assisted self-assembly. Phototransistors based on interfacial charge transfer at the heterojunction from the chiroptical nanohelix to the metal oxide semiconductor show excellent chiroptical detection with a high photocurrent dissymmetry factor of 1.97 and a high photoresponsivity of 218 A W-1 . The chiroptical phototransistor demonstrates photonic synapse-like, time-dependent photocurrent generation, along with persistent photoconductivity, which is attributed to the interfacial charge trapping. Through the advantage of synaptic functionality, a trained convolutional neural network successfully recognizes noise-reduced circularly polarized images of handwritten alphabetic characters with better than 89.7% accuracy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Hydnocarpus anthelmintica (HA) has been traditionally used for treating leprosy and is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. The aim of this study was to investigate the active compounds and targets of HA extracts, involved in oxidative stress and skin aging. The active compounds and targets of HA extracts were identified using network pharmacology. METHOD The pathway study was conducted using the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) database. HA semen was measured for its in-vitro antioxidant activity using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay and anti-aging activities using collagenase, elastase, and tyrosinase assays. A total of 21 intersecting core targets were identified from 8 compounds, 51 action targets, and 1810 skin aging and oxidative stress-associated target genes. RESULT A compound-target network was constructed, and 3 compounds (luteolin, beta-carotene and genkwanin), and 4 hub genes (TP53, HSP90AA1, JUN, and MAPK1) were identified. The KEGG pathway study revealed that the compounds were correlated with PI3K-Akt, p53, HIF-1, and MAPK signaling. CONCLUSION The results of in-vitro experiments showed the effect of HA extract on oxidative stress reduction and collagenase inhibition. We discovered two main active compounds, luteolin and β-carotene, that may be involved in p53 and MAPK signaling, and showed HA extract activity against oxidative stress and collagenase.

Abstract
PURPOSE Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a rare disease which has a high incidence of onset in adolescence. Disease self-management skills are imperative for adolescents with MMD. This study aimed to describe the systematic development, content, and usability of the Moyamoya Healthy Youth application (app), which was developed to enhance self-management skills for adolescents with MMD. DESIGN AND METHODS The theoretical grounding for the app was salutogenic model and the development process of the app was guided by the intervention mapping (IM) protocol. Results of each IM step were applied to the next step leading to the design of the app. Additionally, a pilot test was conducted to determine the usability of the app. RESULTS Following the salutogenic model, we identified the stressors, behaviors, and resources regarding managing symptoms of MMD by interviewing adolescents with MMD, their parents, and healthcare providers. Based on the findings of the interviews, we determined the program outcomes and performance objectives to improve the self-management of MMD in adolescents. The app was developed by translating the theoretical methods to achieve the performance objectives into practical strategies for delivering the program. A pilot test with eight participants showed satisfaction with the app in terms of its usefulness and ease of use. CONCLUSION We delineated the development process of the Moyamoya Healthy Youth. Additionally, we presented the positive outcomes regarding the usability of the app. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS The Moyamoya Healthy Youth app could benefit adolescents with MMD, by improving their self-management skills which are crucial for their health.

Abstract
Solid-state structural transformation is an interesting methodology used to prepare various metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) that are challenging to prepare in direct synthetic procedures. On the other hand, solid-state [2 + 2] photoreactions are distinctive methodologies used for light-driven solid-state transformations. Meanwhile, most of these photoreactions explored are quantitative in nature, in addition to them being stereo-selective and regio-specific in manner. In this work, we successfully synthesized two photoreactive novel binuclear Zn(II) MOFs, [Zn2(spy)2(tdc)2] (1) and [Zn2(spy)4(tdc)2] (2) (where spy = 4-styrylpyridine and tdc = 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylate) with different secondary building units. Both MOFs are interdigitated in nature and are 2D and 1D frameworks, respectively. Both the compounds showed 100% and 50% photoreaction upon UV irradiation, as estimated from the structural analysis for 1 and 2, respectively. This light-driven transformation resulted in the formation of 3D, [Zn2(rctt-ppcb)(tdc)2] (3), and 2D, [Zn2(spy)2(rctt-ppcb)(tdc)2] (4) (where rctt = regio, cis, trans, trans; ppcb = 1,3-bis(4'-pyridyl)-2,4-bis(phenyl)cyclobutane), respectively. These solid-state structural transformations were observed as an interesting post-synthetic modification. Overall, we successfully transformed novel lower-dimensional frameworks into higher-dimensional materials using a solid-state [2 + 2] photocycloaddition reaction.

Abstract
Objective The objective of this study was to compare quantitative electroencephalography (Q-EEG) characteristics of children with Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), taking into account the presence of a comorbidity for anxiety disorder. It also sought to investigate the impact of comorbid anxiety on the Q-EEG heterogeneity of children with ADHD. Method A total of 141 children with ADHD but without comorbid anxiety (ADHD-Only), 25 children with a comorbidity for anxiety disorder (ADHD-ANX) and 43 children in the control group were assessed. To compare Q-EEG characteristics between groups, we performed ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance) on relative power and theta/beta ratio (TBR) controlling for covariates such as age, sex, and FSIQ. Relative power values from 19 electrodes were averaged for three regions (frontal, central and posterior). Furthermore, cluster analysis (Ward's method) using the squared Euclidian distance was conducted on participants with ADHD to explore the impact of anxiety on the heterogeneity of Q-EEG characteristics in ADHD. Results There were no significant group differences in cognitive and behavioral measures. However, significant differences between groups were observed in the theta values in the central region, and the beta values in the frontal, central and posterior regions. In post hoc analyses, It was found that the ADHD-ANX group has significantly higher beta power values than the ADHD-Only group in all regions. For the theta/beta ratio, the ADHD-Only group had significantly higher values than the ADHD-ANX group in frontal, central and posterior regions. However, the control group did not show significant differences compared to both the ADHD-Only and ADHD-ANX group. Through clustering analysis, the participants in the ADHD-Only and ADHD-ANX groups were classified into four clusters. The ratios of children with comorbidities for anxiety disorder within each cluster were significantly different (χ2 = 10.018, p = 0.019). Conclusion Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder children with comorbid anxiety disorder showed lower theta power in the central region, higher beta power in all regions and lower TBR in all regions compared to those without comorbid anxiety disorder. The ratios of children with comorbidities for anxiety disorder within each cluster were significantly different.

Abstract
We evaluated re-induction incorporating carfilzomib-thalidomide-dexamethasone (KTd) and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) refractory, or demonstrating a suboptimal response, to non-IMID bortezomib-based induction. KTd salvage consisted of thalidomide 100 mg daily and dexamethasone 20 mg orally combined with carfilzomib 56 mg/m2 days 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16, of each 28-day cycle. Following four cycles, patients achieving a stringent complete response proceeded to ASCT whereas those who did not received a further two cycles then ASCT. Consolidation consisted of two cycles of KTd then Td to a total of 12 months post-ASCT therapy. Primary end-point was the overall response rate (ORR) with KTd prior to ASCT. Fifty patients were recruited. The ORR was 78% with EuroFlow MRD negativity of 34% in the intention-to-treat population and 65% in the evaluable population at 12 months post-ASCT. With follow-up >38 months median PFS and OS have not been reached with PFS and OS at 36 months of 64% and 80%, respectively. KTd was well tolerated with grade 3 and grade ≥4 adverse events rates of 32% and 10%, respectively. Response adaptive utilisation of KTd with ASCT is associated with both high-quality responses and durable disease control in functional high-risk NDMM.

Abstract
Evaluating tissue injury largely depends on serum biochemical analysis despite insufficient tissue specificity and low sensitivity. Therefore, attention has been paid to the potential of microRNAs (miRNAs) to overcome the limitations of the current diagnostic tools, as tissue-enriched miRNAs are detected in the blood upon tissue injury. First, using a cisplatin-injected rats, we screened a specific pattern of altered hepatic miRNAs and their target mRNAs. Subsequently, we identified novel liver-specific circulating miRNAs for drug-induced liver injury by comparing miRNA expression changes in organs and serum. RNA sequencing revealed that 32 hepatic miRNAs were differentially expressed (DE) in the cisplatin-treated group. Furthermore, among the 1217 targets predicted using miRDB on these DE-miRNAs, 153 hepatic genes involved in different liver function-related pathways and processes were found to be dysregulated by cisplatin. Next, comparative analyses of the liver, kidneys, and serum DE-miRNAs were conducted to select circulating miRNA biomarker candidates reflecting drug-induced liver injury. Finally, among the four liver-specific circulating miRNAs selected based on their expression patterns in tissue and serum, miR-532-3p was increased in the serum after cisplatin or acetaminophen administration. Our findings suggest that miR-532-3p is potential as a serum biomarker for identifying drug-induced liver injury, leading to the accurate diagnosis.

Abstract
Rehabilitation using digital healthcare (DHC) has the potential to enhance the effectiveness of treatment for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and associated pain by improving patient outcomes, while being cost-effective, safe, and measurable. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of musculoskeletal rehabilitation using DHC. We searched PubMed, Ovid-Embase, Cochrane Library, and PEDro Physiotherapy Evidence Database from inception to October 28, 2022 for controlled clinical trials comparing DHC to conventional rehabilitation. We used a random-effects model for the meta-analysis, pooling the effects of DHC on pain and quality of life (QoL) by calculating standardized mean differences (SMDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) between DHC rehabilitation and conventional rehabilitation (control). Fifty-four studies with 6240 participants met the inclusion criteria. The sample size ranged from 26 to 461, and the average age of the participants ranged from 21.9 to 71.8 years. The majority of the included studies focused on knee or hip joint MSD (n = 23), and the most frequently utilized DHC interventions were mobile applications (n = 26) and virtual or augmented reality (n = 16). Our meta-analysis of pain (n = 45) revealed that pain reduction was greater in DHC rehabilitation than in conventional rehabilitation (SMD: -0.55, 95% CI: -0.74, -0.36), indicating that rehabilitation using DHC has the potential to ameliorate MSD pain. Furthermore, DHC significantly improved health-related QoL and disease-specific QoL (SMD: 0.66, 95% CI: 0.29, 1.03; SMD: -0.44, 95% CI: -0.87, -0.01) compared to conventional rehabilitation. Our findings suggest that DHC offers a practical and flexible rehabilitation alternative for both patients with MSD and healthcare professionals. Nevertheless, further researches are needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms by which DHC affects patient-reported outcomes, which may vary depending on the type and design of the DHC intervention.

Abstract
Herein, we describe studies showing that Lewis acid co-catalysts can significantly broaden the scope of alkenes that can be incorporated into the photosensitized visible-light De Mayo reaction. Mechanistic studies suggest that the primary benefit of the Lewis acid is not on substrate sensitization but rather on bond-forming steps downstream of energy transfer, highlighting the diverse effects that Lewis acids can have on sensitized photoreactions.

Abstract
Many digital health projects often stop in the pilot or test phase. Realisation of new digital health services is often challenging due to lack of guidelines for the step-by-step roll-out and implementation of the systems when changing work processes and procedures are needed. This study describes development of the Verified Innovation Process for Healthcare Solutions (VIPHS) - a stepwise model for digital health innovation and utilisation using service design principles. A multiple case study (two cases) involving participant observation, role play, and semi-structured interviews were conducted for the model development in prehospital settings. The model might be helpful to support realisation of innovative digital health projects in a holistic, disciplined, and strategic way.

Abstract
A 14-membered cyclic compound (3) containing amide, amino, and carbamate groups, which was serendipitously obtained in the oily residue after the separation of 4-benzyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyldododecane-2,6-dione (2a) and 4,16-dibenzyl-1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22-octaazacyclo-tetracosane-2,6,14,18-tetraone (2b), is reported. The structure of 3 is formally a CO2 insertion between positions 3 and 4 of the 12-membered ring in 2a. The CO2 insertion was confirmed in the synthesis of diethyl 2,2'-(benzylazanediyl)diacetate (1) by the reaction of benzylamine with ethyl bromoacetate using K2CO3 as the base. In addition, the selective synthesis of 3 and ethyl N-benzyl-N-((2-ethoxy-2-oxoethoxy)carbonyl)glycinate (5) and their kinetic behavior are reported. The reaction of 5 with triethylenetetramine afforded a 17-membered macrocycle (7), which was obtained in an 18% yield. Compounds 6 and 8 were prepared from 3 and 7 by introducing benzyl groups to improve their solubility in organic solvents. Titration experiments using 1H NMR showed that both 6 and 8 exhibit Li+ selectivity.

Abstract
Interlayer excitons (IXs) at the interface of heterostructures (HSs) with a staggered band alignment are fascinating quantum quasi-particles with light-emitting and long-lifetime characteristics. In this study, the energy band alignments (EBAs) of the HS of MAPbI3 perovskite thin sheets with CdSe-ZnS core-shell quantum dot (QD) layers are modulated by using different diameters of the QDs. Far-red IX emission is observed at 1.42 eV from the HS of MAPbI3 /CdSe-ZnS-QD (λem = 645 nm) with type-II EBA owing to charge transfer. The lifetime of the far-red IXs is estimated to be 5.68 µs, which is considerably longer than that (0.715 ns) of the intralayer excitons from CdSe-ZnS-QD. With increasing incident excitation power, the PL peak and its intensity of IXs are blue-shifted and linearly increased, respectively, indicating a strong dipole alignment of far-red IXs at the heterojunction. Back focal plane imaging suggests that the directions of dipole moments of the IXs are relatively out-of-plane compared to those of the intralayer excitons (MAPbI3 and CdSe-ZnS-QD). Notably, the abnormal behavior of the optical characteristics is observed near the phase transition temperature (90 K) of MAPbI3 . MAPbI3 /CdSe-ZnS-QD HS photodetectors show the increase in photocurrent and detectivity compared to MAPbI3 at IX excitation.

Abstract
Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) causes secondary damage in injured and adjacent regions due to temporal deprivation of oxygen and energy supply. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) is known to regulate cell survival mechanisms such as hypoxia, oxidative stress, inflammation and energy homeostasis in various tissues. Thus, PPARγ has the potential to show neuroprotective properties. However, the role of endogenous spinal PPARγ in SCI is not well established. In this study, under isoflurane inhalation, a 10-g rod was freely dropped onto the exposed spinal cord after T10 laminectomy using a New York University impactor in male Sprague-Dawley rats. Cellular localization of spinal PPARγ, locomotor function and mRNA levels of various genes including NFκB-targeted pro-inflammatory mediators after intrathecal administration of PPARγ antagonists, agonists or vehicles in SCI rats were then analysed. In both sham and SCI rats, spinal PPARγ was presented in neurons but not in microglia or astrocytes. Inhibition of PPARγ induced IκB activation and increased mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory mediators. It also suppressed recovery of locomotor function with myelin-related gene expression in SCI rats. However, a PPARγ agonist showed no beneficial effects on the locomotor performances of SCI rats, although it further increased the protein expression of PPARγ. In conclusion, endogenous PPARγ has a role in anti-inflammation after SCI. Inhibition of PPARγ might have a negative influence on motor function recovery through accelerated neuroinflammation. Nonetheless, exogenous PPARγ activation does not appear to effectively help with functional improvement after SCI.

Abstract
A 12-year-old castrated male Shih-Tzu dog was referred for uncontrolled glaucoma and uveitis with highly pigmented sclera, in both eyes (OU). On ophthalmic examination, the menace response, dazzle reflex and pupillary light reflex were negative OU. The intraocular pressure was 27 mmHg in the right eye (OD) and 70 mmHg in the left eye (OS) despite the administration of antiglaucoma eyedrops. Ultrasound biomicroscopy revealed a closed ciliary cleft OU. Ocular ultrasonography revealed hyperechoic materials in the vitreous OU and retinal detachment OS. When presented for recheck, an extensive malacic corneal ulcer was observed OS. To relieve pain in the blind eyes, enucleation OS and pharmacologic ciliary body ablation (CBA) OD were performed. Histologically, ocular melanosis, which is an inherited disease in the Cairn Terrier breed, was identified in the enucleated eye. The uvea was heavily pigmented. The iris and ciliary body were mildly distorted by a single population of large, round, nonneoplastic cells with pigmented cytoplasm. There was no evidence of an intraocular mass or metastasis before and after intravitreal CBA. This is the first report of bilateral ocular melanosis in a Shih-Tzu dog. Ocular melanosis is a possible differential diagnosis for globe presenting scleral pigmentation with glaucoma in even non-Cairn Terrier breeds and pharmacologic CBA could be considered as a treatment for ocular melanosis with end-stage glaucoma.

Abstract
In the supramolecule area, the fabrication of a new concept called polyrotaxanes or poly-pseudo-rotaxanes remains challenging. We herein report the formation of a poly-pseudo-rotaxane in which the same salt-type guest serves both linking and threading in the resulting structure. The combination of A1/A2-thiopyridyl pillar[5]arene (L) and silver(I) trifluoroacetate in CHCl3/CH3OH afforded a one-dimensional (1D) poly-pseudo-rotaxane. In this structure, to our surprise, the AgCF3CO2 guest not only links the di-armed L ligands via an infinite -L-Ag-L-Ag- arrangement but also threads into a pillar[5]arene cavity in a dimer form, (AgCF3CO2)2. In contrast, the same reaction in CH2Cl2/CH3OH yielded a simple 1D coordination polymer because an included CH2Cl2 molecule in the pillar[5]arene cavity prevents the threading of the silver(I) trifluoroacetate guest. Comparative 1H- and 19F-NMR studies support the solvent-dependent poly-pseudo-rotaxane formation at a lower concentration of L.

Abstract
Tetracycline (TC) antibiotics are widely used in animal husbandry and can cause environmental risk due to its high ecological toxicity and persistence. In this study, cobalt doped/ZnTiO3 (ZTO)/Ti3C2Tx MXene (ZCxTM, x indicates wt% of Co loading) was synthesized and explored to remove TC by adsorption and photocatalysis under visible light irradiation. The as-prepared ZC5TM was characterized using various analytical techniques, and key operating parameters such as solution pH, background ions, and temperature were systematically investigated. Interestingly, ZC5TM (14.9 mg/g) showed excellent adsorption capacity for TC, which was higher than activated carbon (7.7 mg/g), ZTO (4.9 mg/g), ZC3T (5.2 mg/g), ZC5T (5.3 mg/g), MXene (12.1 mg/g), ZTOM (12.5 mg/g), and ZC3TM (12.9 mg/g). The pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm models well explained the effect of contact time and initial concentrations on the adsorption of TC. The adsorption process was primarily through the electrostatic attraction, surface complexation, and hydrogen bonding. In addition, MXene and Co doped on ZTO served as co-catalyst and reduced recombination rate of photo-generated e--h+ pairs by the intimate interface of its heterojunction. Thus, ZC5TM was highly effective for the photocatalytic degradation of residual TC after adsorption by showing 18% TC degradation rate, compared to 8% and 9% degradation rate for ZTO and MXene, respectively. There results finally support the feasible use of ZC5TM as efficient adsorbent and photocatalyst in removal of TC in wastewater.

Abstract
Ordered assemblies of inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) have shown tremendous potential for wide applications due to their unique collective properties, which differ from those of individual NPs. Various assembly methods, such as external field-directed assembly, interfacial assembly, template assembly, biomolecular recognition-mediated assembly, confined assembly, and others, have been employed to generate ordered inorganic NP assemblies with hierarchical structures. Among them, the external field-directed assembly method is particularly fascinating, as it can remotely assemble NPs into well-ordered superstructures. Moreover, external fields (e.g., electric, magnetic, and shear fields) can introduce a local and/or global field intensity gradient, resulting in an additional force on NPs to drive their rotation and/or translation. Therefore, the external field-directed assembly of NPs becomes a robust method to fabricate well-defined functional materials with the desired optical, electronic, and magnetic properties, which have various applications in catalysis, sensing, disease diagnosis, energy conversion/storage, photonics, nano-floating-gate memory, and others. In this review, the effects of an electric field, magnetic field, and shear field on the organization of inorganic NPs are highlighted. The methods for controlling the well-ordered organization of inorganic NPs at different scales and their advantages are reviewed. Finally, future challenges and perspectives in this field are discussed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to determine the prevalence and clinical presentation of ocular diseases in cats in South Korea. METHODS Medical records of cats that were presented for ophthalmology services at Seoul National University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital between 2009 and 2021 were reviewed. Collected data included patient signalment, clinical signs, diagnosed ophthalmic disorders and affected eyes. Odds ratios were calculated when a variable was over-represented. RESULTS This study recorded a total of 358 eyes (180 cats). Domestic shorthair (DSH) was the most common breed (42.2%), followed by Persian (13.9%) and Scottish Fold (8.3%); 14 (35.6%) other breeds were recorded. The median age at the first presentation was 3 years (range 2 months to 17 years); the highest percentage of cats presented at <1 year (21.7%). The most affected ocular structure was the cornea (28.5%), followed by the lens (19.9%) and uvea (15.3%). The most frequently reported disorders were corneal ulceration (13.2%), uveitis (11.9%), incipient cataract (11.0%), keratitis (5.4%), secondary glaucoma (5.2%) and sequestrum (4.2%). The Exotic Shorthair breed was significantly over-represented with regard to entropion and periorbital fat prolapse (P <0.01). The DSH breed was significantly over-represented with regard to eyelid agenesis (P <0.01). CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE This study provides prevalence information for feline ophthalmic diseases and could contribute important data for diagnosing, treating and preventing feline ophthalmic diseases in South Korea.

Abstract
Ice-binding proteins (IBPs) produced by psychrophilic organisms to adapt for the survival of psychrophiles in subzero conditions have received illustrious interest as a cryopreservation agent required for cells and tissues to completely recover after freezing/thawing. Depressing water-freezing point and avoiding ice-crystal growth affect their activities which are closely related to the presence of ice crystal well-matched binding moiety. The interaction of IBPs with ice and water is critical in enhancing their freeze avoidance against cell or tissue damage. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with a controllable lattice at the molecular level and a size at the nanometer scale can offer periodically ordered ice-binding sites by modifying organic linkers and controlling microcurvature at the ice surface. Herein, zirconium (Zr)-based MOF-801 nanoparticles (NPs) with good biocompatibility were used as a cryoprotectant that is well dispersed and colloidal-stable in an aqueous solution. The MOF NP size was precisely controlled, and 10, 35, 100, and 250 nm NPs were prepared. The specific IBPs-mimicking pendants (valine and threonine) were simply introduced into the MOF NP-surface through the acrylate-based functionalization to endow with hydrophilic and hydrophobic dualities. When small-sized MOF-801 NPs were attached to ice, they confined ice growth in high curvature between the adsorption sites because of the decreased radius of the convex area of the growth region, leading to highly enhanced ice recrystallization inhibition (IRI). Surface-functionalized MOF NPs could increase the number of anchored clathrate water molecules with hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance of the ice-binding moiety, effectively inhibiting ice growth. The MOF-801 NPs were biocompatible with various cell lines regardless of concentration or NP surface-functionalization, whereas the smaller-sized surface-functionalized NPs showed a good cell recovery rate after freezing/thawing by induction of IRI. This study provides a strategy for the fabrication of low-cost, high-volume antifreeze nanoagents that can extend useful applications to organ transplantation, cord blood storage, and vaccines/drugs.
