Abstract
Objective To validated a classifier to distinguish the status of rotator cuff tear and predict post-operative re-tear by utilizing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) markers. Methods This retrospective study included patients with healthy rotator cuff and patients diagnosed as rotator cuff tear (RCT) by MRI. Radiomics features were identified from the pre-operative shoulder MRI and selected by using maximum relevance minimum redundancy (MRMR) methods. A radiomics model for diagnosis of RCT was constructed, based on the 3D volume of interest (VOI) of supraspinatus. Another model for the prediction of rotator re-tear after rotator cuff repair (Re-RCT) was constructed based on VOI of humerus, supraspinatus, infraspinatus and other clinical parameters. Results The model for diagnosing the status of RCT produced an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.989 in the training cohort and 0.979 for the validation cohort. The radiomics model for predicting Re-RCT produced an AUC of 0.923 ± 0.017 for the training dataset and 0.790 ± 0.082 for the validation dataset. The nomogram combining radiomics features and clinical factors yielded an AUC of 0.961 ± 0.020 for the training dataset and 0.808 ± 0.081 for the validation dataset, which displayed the best performance among all models. Conclusion Radiomics models for the diagnosis of rotator cuff tear and prediction of post-operative Re-RCT yielded a decent prediction accuracy.

Abstract
In this research, we delved into the predictive potential of three key markers - the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), systemic immune inflammation index (SII), and Onodera's prognostic nutritional index (OPNI), in assessing lymph node metastases in breast cancer patients who had internal mammary lymph node involvement following thoracoscopic surgery. Our study revealed notable pathological distinctions between the groups with and without metastases, while age, tumor size, and histological grade exhibited no significant differences. The analysis unveiled statistically significant variances in NLR, SII, and OPNI when comparing these two groups. Multivariate analysis pinpointed NLR (OR = 1.503), SII (OR = 1.987), and OPNI (OR = 0.612) as robust predictors of lymph node metastases. Remarkably, combining these markers (AUC: 0.897) substantially enhanced the precision of predicting lymph node metastases compared to individual measurements (NLR: 0.749, SII: 0.717, and OPNI: 0.787). In conclusion, this study underscores the pivotal role of NLR, SII, and OPNI in predicting lymph node metastasis among breast cancer patients with internal mammary lymph node involvement post-thoracoscopic surgery, affirming our utility as reliable independent predictors of this critical clinical outcome.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIMS Demonstrate through objective multidisciplinary imaging that subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDDs) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) are linked to both coexistent valvular heart disease (VHD) and reduced systemic perfusion via cardiac index (CI). METHODS Post-hoc analysis of cross-sectional study. 200 intermediate AMD (iAMD) subjects were assigned by masked readers to two groups: SDD (with or without drusen) and drusen (only) based on multimodal ophthalmic imaging. 65 transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) reports were available for cardiologist evaluation of VHD severity of the four cardiac valves and the presences of precursor lesions of aortic sclerosis (ASc) and mitral annular calcification (MAC). Necessary parameters to calculate CI were also obtained. Univariate testing was performed using Fisher's Exact test and t-test. RESULTS 82.6% (19/23) of the iAMD subjects with at least one moderate/severe VHD had concurrent SDDs (p = 0.0040). All cases of aortic regurgitation (6/6, p = 0.0370) and mitral regurgitation (13/13, p = 0.0004) were found with coexisting SDDs. Stenotic VHD was not significantly associated with SDDs, however 70.7% of subjects with ASc (29/41, p = 0.0108) and 76.0% of subjects with MAC (19/25, 0.0377) had coexisting SDDs. CI was available in 48 subjects and was significantly below normal levels in the SDD cohort (mean CI SDD 1.95 ± 0.60 L/min/m2, non-SDD 2.71 ± 0.73 L/min/m2, p = 0.0004). CONCLUSIONS Several specific VHDs have been found associated with the SDD form of AMD. Decreased systemic perfusion as measured by CI was also associated with SDDs, which supports a perfusion hypothesis of SDD pathogenesis. Further research is warranted to understand the relationship between cardiovascular disease and SDDs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study aimed to compare the prevalence of oral frailty among community-dwelling older people in Nanjing, China with the usage of different measurements, and to investigate the potential risk factors of oral frailty. DESIGN Cross-sectional study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS A total of 338 community-dwelling older people in Nanjing, China were recruited. METHODS Oral frailty was measured based on the Oral Frailty Index-8 (OFI-8) scale and other measurement methods including the number of natural teeth (TN), repetitive saliva-swallowing test (RSST), and oral diadochokinesis (ODK). The chi-square test and the binary logistic regression analysis were performed to identify potential risk factors for oral frailty. RESULTS There were 310 participants included in the analysis. Prevalence of oral frailty by using the OFI-8, OFI-8 + TN, OFI-8 + ODK, OFI-8 + TN + ODK and RSST measurement methods were 69.0%, 27.4%, 51.9%, 21.0% and 2.9%, respectively. Passive smoking (OR = 2.04; 95%CI 1.03-4.03), being widowed/unmarried (OR1 = 2.53; 95%CI 1.25-5.10; OR2 = 2.94; 95%CI 1.12-7.77), pre-frailty (OR = 1.76; 95%CI 1.03-3.01), frailty (OR = 3.01; 95%CI 1.39-6.54), and aged 80 years and above (OR = 3.99; 95%CI 1.35-11.81) were found to be risk factors of oral frailty by the usage of the four kinds of measurement methods. CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS The definition and diagnostic criteria of oral frailty are strongly needed to be unified in future research. Only subjective assessment is not enough for assessing oral frailty. Among objective indicators, RSST is not suitable as a screening method for oral frailty. In addition, objective indicators including TN and ODK should be valued for early screening and preventive interventions. The risk factors of oral frailty include physical frailty, passive smoking, and being widowed.

Abstract
PURPOSE Subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDDs) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) are associated with systemic vascular diseases that compromise ocular perfusion. We demonstrate that SDDs are associated with decreased ellipsoid zone (EZ) thickness, further evidence of hypoxic damage. METHODS Post hoc analysis of a cross-sectional study. 165 AMD subjects (aged 51-100; 61% women). Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography was obtained in both eyes. Masked readers assigned subjects to three groups: drusen only, SDD+drusen (SDD+D) and SDD only. EZ thickness was measured subfoveally and 2000 µm nasally, temporally, superiorly and inferiorly from the fovea. Univariate testing was performed using two-tailed t-tests with Bonferroni correction. RESULTS The mean EZ thickness differences between the SDD+D and drusen-only groups were (in μm) 1.10, 0.67, 1.21, 1.10 and 0.50 at the foveal, nasal, temporal, superior and inferior locations, respectively (p=0.08 inferiorly, otherwise p≤0.01); between the SDD-only and drusen-only groups, the differences were 3.48, 2.48, 2.42, 2.08 and 1.42 (p≤0.0002). Differences in EZ thicknesses across all subjects and between groups were not significantly different based on gender, race or age. CONCLUSION Subjects with SDDs (±drusen) had thinner EZs than those with drusen only, and the inferior EZ was least affected. EZs were thinnest in SDD-only subjects. This thinning gradation is consistent with progressive destruction of highly oxygen-sensitive mitochondria in the EZ from hypoxia. These findings support the reduced ophthalmic perfusion hypothesis for the formation of SDDs secondary to high-risk systemic vasculopathy.

Abstract
Purpose Subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDDs) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) are strongly associated with vasculopathies such as myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. This study evaluates ischemic stroke subjects for SDDs to determine whether ocular hypoperfusion from internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis is associated with ipsilateral SDDs. Methods A cross-sectional study at Mount Sinai Hospital recruited 39 subjects with ischemic stroke (aged 52-90; 18 women, 21 men); 28 completed all study procedures. Computed tomography (CT) of the head and neck evaluated 54/56 ICAs for stenosis criteria: none (n = 33), mild (n = 12), moderate (n = 3), severe (n = 3), and complete (n = 3). Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) scans were read to consensus by two masked graders for soft drusen, SDDs and choroidal thickness (CTh; choroidal thinning = CTh < 250 µm). Univariate testing was done with Fisher's exact test. Multivariate logistic regression models tested age, gender, and ICA stenosis as covariates. Results Moderate or more ICA stenosis (≥50%-69%) was significantly associated with ipsilateral choroidal thinning (P = 0.021) and ipsilateral SDDs (P = 0.005); the latter were present distal to six of nine stenosed ICAs versus five of 33 normal ICAs. Mild ICA stenosis (≥1%-49%) was not significantly associated with ipsilateral SDDs. Multivariate regression found that older age (P = 0.015) and moderate or more ICA stenosis (P = 0.011) remained significant independent risks for ipsilateral SDDs. Conclusions At least moderate ICA stenosis (≥50%-69%) is strongly associated with ipsilateral SDDs and choroidal thinning, supporting downstream ophthalmic artery and choroidal hypoperfusion from ICA stenosis as the mechanism for SDD formation. SDDs may thus serve as sensitive biomarkers for ischemic stroke and other vascular diseases.

Abstract
The fast-growing terahertz technologies require high-performance terahertz absorber for suppressing electromagnetic interference. Since the dissipation mechanism in terahertz band usually focuses on electronic conduction loss, almost all terahertz absorbers are constructed with electronically conducting materials being opaque, which limits their applications in scenarios requiring high visible transmittance. Here, we demonstrate a transparent terahertz absorber based on permittivity-gradient elastomer-encapsulated-organohydrogel. Our organohydrogel-based terahertz absorber exhibits a high absorbing property (average reflection loss of 49.03 dB) in 0.5-4.5 THz band with a thin thickness of 700 μm and a high average visible transmittance of 85.51%. The terahertz absorbing mechanism mainly derives from the ionic conduction loss of the polar liquid in organohydrogel. Besides, the hydrophobic and adhesive elastomer coating endows this terahertz absorber high absorbing stability and interfacial adhesivity. This work paves a viable way to designing transparent terahertz absorbers.

Abstract
Structure-guided bioengineering enzymes has been an efficient strategy to obtain biocatalyst with desirable properties. In this study, the cold-adapted esterase from Pseudomonas sp. (CPE) was optimized through bioinformatic-based structured-guided bioengineering on lid1 region. Substitutions of non-conserved Q55 led to noticeable increase in hydrolysis without sacrificing enzyme thermostability, activating effects of Ca2+ and organic solvents. Compared to the wild type, both of Q55V and Q55N among the constructed variants exhibited about a 2.0-fold and 6.5-fold higher hydrolytic activity toward short-chain and long-chain substrates, respectively. In contrast, lid swapping with the lid of Thermomyces lanuginosus lipase reduced the activity and thermostability of CPE. Catalytic kinetics revealed that substitution of Q55 with Y, V, N and R enhanced the substrate affinity of CPE. Hydrolysis by Q55V remarkedly enriched the characteristic flavor components of single cream. The study sheds light on structure-guided bioengineering of lid tailoring cold-adapted esterases with desired catalytic performance to meet the demand from biotechnological applications.

Abstract
Decades of studies on age-related macular degeneration (AMD), cardiovascular disease and stroke have not found consistent associations between AMD and systemic vascular disease. This study suggests that there is in fact no general relationship, but instead a strong, specific association between only the subretinal drusenoid deposit (SDD) phenotype of AMD on retinal imaging and certain co-existent vascular diseases that are high risk for compromised cardiac output or internal carotid artery stenosis. Future screening initiatives for these high -risk vascular diseases (HRVDs) with fast, inexpensive retinal imaging could make a significant contribution to public health and save lives. Likewise, screening patients with known HRVDs for unrecognized AMD of the SDD form could enable needed treatment and save vision.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The increasing prevalence of multimorbidity has created a serious global public health problem in aging populations. Certain multimorbidity patterns across different age ranges and their association with health status remain unclear. The main aim of this study is to identify multimorbidity patterns discrepancies and associated health status between younger-old and oldest-old. METHODS The Ethics Committee of Nanjing Medical University approved the study protocol (No.2019-473). Convenience sampling method was used to recruit older adults aged ≥ 60 years with multimorbidity from July to December 2021 from 38 Landsea long-term care facilities in China. The multimorbidity patterns were analyzed using network analysis and two-step cluster analysis. One-Way ANOVA was utilized to explore their association with health status including body function, activity of daily living, and social participation. A Sankey diagram visualized the flow of health status within different multimorbidity patterns. This study is reported following the STROBE guidelines. RESULTS A total of 214 younger-old (60-84 years) and 173 oldest-old (≥ 85 years) were included. Leading coexisting diseases were cardiovascular disease (CD), metabolic and endocrine disease (MED), neurological disease (ND), and orthopedic disease (OD). Cluster 1 (53, 24.8%) of CD-ND (50, 94.3%; 31, 58.8%), cluster 2 (39, 18.2%) of MED-ND-CD (39, 100%; 39, 100%; 37, 94.9%), cluster 3 (37, 17.3%) of OD-CD-MED-ND (37, 100%; 33, 89.2%; 27, 73.0%; 16, 43.2%), and cluster 4 (34, 15.9%) of CD-MED (34, 100%; 34, 100%) were identified in the younger-old. In the oldest-old, the primary multimorbidity patterns were: cluster 1 (33, 19.1%) of CD-respiratory disease-digestive disease-urogenital disease (CD-RD-DSD-UD) (32, 97.0%; 9, 27.3%; 8, 24.2%; 7, 21.2%), cluster 2 (42, 24.3%) of ND-CD-MED (42, 100%; 35, 83.3%; 14, 33.3%), cluster 3 (28, 16.2%) of OD-CD-MED (28, 100%; 25, 89.3%; 18, 64.3%), and cluster 4 (35, 20.2%) of CD-MED (35, 100%; 35, 100%). Younger-old with CD-ND or MED-ND-CD, and oldest-old with ND-CD-MED have worse health status compared with other multimorbidity patterns (e.g., CD-MED and OD-CD-MED). CONCLUSION Discrepancies in common patterns of multimorbidity across age groups suggest that caregivers in long-term care facilities should consider changes in multimorbidity patterns with ageing when developing prevention plans for individualized management. Neurological disease concurrent with other diseases was the major determinant of health status, especially for the oldest-old. Interventions targeting multimorbidity need to be focused, yet generic. It is essential to assess complex needs and health outcomes that arise from different multimorbidity patterns and manage them through an interdisciplinary approach and consider their priorities to gain high-quality primary care for older adults living in long-term care facilities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The performance of a new inspection system should be verified before it is used. The aim of this study was to analyze the performance of the KU-F40 automatic feces analyzer, which can serve clinic better. METHODS A total of 1,822 fecal samples were collected at our hospital in September 2022 and tested by manual method and KU-F40 automatic feces analyzer. With manual microscopy as the gold standard, the clinical application value of KU-F40 was evaluated by sensitivity, specificity, coincidence rate, etc. Results: For the KU-F40 automatic feces analyzer, the sensitivity of red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), fungi, and occult blood (OB) was 95.08%, 92.68%, 89.47%, and 98.72%, respectively. The specificity was 99.38%, 99.83%, 99.94%, and 99.04%, respectively. The coincidence rates were 99.23%, 99.51%, 99.84%, and 98.96%, respectively. The Kappa values were 0.8883, 0.9415, 0.9181, and 0.9729, respectively. The p-values were 0.0574, 0.5078, 1.0000, and 0.1671, respectively. CONCLUSIONS KU-F40 automatic feces analyzer results are reliable, can effectively improve the efficiency of testing, reduce the risk of biosafety, which is accordance with the current clinical need. At the same time, continuous improvement should be made to better serve the clinic.

Abstract
An experimental and numerical study on 10 ps laser ablation of 316 L stainless steel up to 400 hundred pulse exposure has been carried out. In this simulation, the material removal threshold temperature has been carefully discussed depending on the different ablation driving mechanisms. The influence of the instantaneous material removal has also been considered which will affect the calculation of the next pulse's absorption. For single-pulse ablation, the simulated ablation threshold Fsim = 0.26 J/cm2 is close to the fitted experimental result F0th = (0.29 ± 0.01) J/cm2. For multi-pulse ablation, the simulated ablation rate Rsim = 11.4 nm/pulse is close to the fitted experimental result Rexp = (12.4 ± 0.1) nm/pulse under 0.9 J/cm2 fluence, while the simulated ablation rate Rsim = 19.8 nm/pulse is slightly larger than the fitted experimental result Rexp = (16.1 ± 0.7) nm/pulse at 2.7 J/cm2, providing good agreement between theory and experiment for both single and multi-pulse ablation. This study could be used to predict the multi-pulse laser processing performance, especially with the help of a machine learning method to find the best parameters automatically.

Abstract
To understand the status of heavy metals in soils of typical industrial and mining towns and quantitatively analyze the potential sources, the contents of seven heavy metals (Cd, As, Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn) in 150 surface soils in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province were collected and examined. The geoaccumulation index and potential ecological risk index methods were used to evaluate the heavy metal pollution status and potential ecological risk. Principal component analysis (PCA) and the positive matrix factorization (PMF) model were used to comprehensively analyze the pollution sources of seven heavy metals, and geostatistics was used to identify the high contribution areas of potential sources. The results revealed that:① the average values of heavy metals in the study area ranged from 0.23-103.34 mg·kg-1, among which the average contents of Cd, Pb, Cu, and Zn were higher than the soil background value of Hebei Province. ② The results of the geoaccumulation and potential ecological risk indices demonstrated that the degree of pollution of the seven heavy metals was in the following order:Cd>Pb>Cu>Zn>Ni>As>Cr, the content of Cd in 16% sites was above a moderate pollution level, and the potential ecological risk of heavy metals in more than 95% sites was at a light risk level. ③ The main sources of accumulation of the seven heavy metals in the study area were combined sources of industry and traffic, natural sources, and agricultural sources, with their contribution rates of 33.1%, 48.7%, and 18.2%, respectively. Among them, Cd, Pb, Cu, and Zn were primarily affected by the combined sources of industry and transportation; Cr, Ni, and As were mainly affected by natural sources, whereas Cd and some As were affected by agricultural sources. The organic combination of PCA, PMF model, and geostatistical methods confirmed the results of each analysis, which increased the reliability of the analytical results of heavy metal sources.

Abstract
Objective To investigate the factors impacting pathological complete remission (ipCR) of the internal mammary lymph nodes in patients with internal mammary lymph node metastasis (IMLN) after adjuvant chemotherapy. Methods Sixty-five cases of primary breast cancer (BC) with IMLN metastasis who had received neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) were retrospectively analyzed. Postoperative pathology was used to divide the patients into ipCR and non-ipCR groups. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed on ipCR after NAC. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of the factors related to ipCR and a Kaplan-Meier curve was used to analyze prognosis. Results Twenty-nine (44.62%) of the 65 female patients received ipCR after NAC. Significant differences in hormone receptor (HR) negative and axillary pathological complete response (apCR) rates between the ipCR and non-ipCR group (P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that HR (OR = 2.698) and apCR (OR = 4.546) were the most significant factors that influenced ipCR (P < 0.05). The ROC curves showed that the area under the curves (AUC) for HR and apCR for the prediction of ipCR were 0.744 and 0.735 respectively. The AUC for the combined detection was 0.905. The average disease free survival (DFS) for patients in the ipCR group was 94.0 months which was significantly longer compared to patients in the non-ipCR group (64.2 months) (χ2 = 4.265, P = 0.039). No significant difference in OS was detected between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions ipCR after NAC is correlated with HR and apCR. HR combined with apCR has value in predicting ipCR. ipCR has prognostic value in patients with IMLN metastasis and may have the potential to inform clinical decision-making. Further validation of these findings is required through larger-scale prospective studies.

Abstract
Background Tendinopathy is a common motor system disease that leads to pain and reduced function. Despite its prevalence, our mechanistic understanding is incomplete, leading to limited efficacy of treatment options. Animal models contribute significantly to our understanding of tendinopathy and some therapeutic options. However, the inadequacies of animal models are also evident, largely due to differences in anatomical structure and the complexity of human tendinopathy. Different animal models reproduce different aspects of human tendinopathy and are therefore suitable for different scenarios. This review aims to summarize the existing animal models of tendinopathy and to determine the situations in which each model is appropriate for use, including exploring disease mechanisms and evaluating therapeutic effects. Methods We reviewed relevant literature in the PubMed database from January 2000 to December 2022 using the specific terms ((tendinopathy) OR (tendinitis)) AND (model) AND ((mice) OR (rat) OR (rabbit) OR (lapin) OR (dog) OR (canine) OR (sheep) OR (goat) OR (horse) OR (equine) OR (pig) OR (swine) OR (primate)). This review summarized different methods for establishing animal models of tendinopathy and classified them according to the pathogenesis they simulate. We then discussed the advantages and disadvantages of each model, and based on this, identified the situations in which each model was suitable for application. Results For studies that aim to study the pathophysiology of tendinopathy, naturally occurring models, treadmill models, subacromial impingement models and metabolic models are ideal. They are closest to the natural process of tendinopathy in humans. For studies that aim to evaluate the efficacy of possible treatments, the selection should be made according to the pathogenesis simulated by the modeling method. Existing tendinopathy models can be classified into six types according to the pathogenesis they simulate: extracellular matrix synthesis-decomposition imbalance, inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic disorder, traumatism and mechanical load. Conclusions The critical factor affecting the translational value of research results is whether the selected model is matched with the research purpose. There is no single optimal model for inducing tendinopathy, and researchers must select the model that is most appropriate for the study they are conducting. The translational potential of this article The critical factor affecting the translational value of research results is whether the animal model used is compatible with the research purpose. This paper provides a rationale and practical guide for the establishment and selection of animal models of tendinopathy, which is helpful to improve the clinical transformation ability of existing models and develop new models.

Abstract
BACKGROUND With the development of the social economy, the effective coordination of the conflict between work and family has become an urgent problem for most parents. Such conflicts are especially acute in the families of nurses with children. Therefore, a timely understanding of the status quo of the parent-child relationship and associated risk factors among nurses will assist in improving their family harmony and the healthy growth of their children. METHODS A total of 350 nurses with children at a general tertiary hospital in Sichuan Province, China, were interviewed using a structured questionnaire between June 23 and July 9, 2022. The results were analyzed by multiple linear regression using the stepwise method. RESULTS The results showed that the parent-child relationship received a middle-level mean score of 77.74 (SD = 10.77). The factors that influenced the parent-child relationship among nurses included the parents' character type (β = 0.143, P = 0.002), feeling tired due to dealing with patients (β=-0.150, P = 0.002), the nurse-patient relationship (β = 0.137, P = 0.004), the age of older children (β=-0.153, P = 0.001), number of children (β=-0.093, P = 0.041), sleep quality (β = 0.116, P = 0.014), and family adaptability (β = 0.308, P = 0.000); these factors accounted for 31.3% of the variance in parent-child relationships among nurses. CONCLUSION The findings of this study will help policy makers and nursing managers to better understand parent-child relationships in Chinese nurses. The results highlighted the importance of the creation of a family-oriented work environment while paying more attention to the parent-child relationships of nurses who are introverted and have more or older children. After busy workdays, nurses should also be encouraged to participate more in family decision-making and strategic parent-child interactions to avoid negative effects on children caused by work-related emotional exhaustion, physical and mental fatigue, and other reasons. The development of good parent-child relationships may help maintain both their and their children's mental health while enhancing their enthusiasm for work and their professional identity.

Abstract
Hydrogels are a class of biocompatible materials with versatile functions that have been increasing explored for the localized treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC), but various mechanical stimuli may cause premature hydrogel breakage and detachment, impeding their further clinical translation. Here we report a multifunctional mechanically-resilient self-healing hydrogel for effective UC treatment, which is synthesized through the host-guest interaction between dopamine/β-cyclodextrin-modified hyaluronic acid (HA-CD-DA) and amantadine-modified carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS-AD). The excessive β-CD cavities allow the incorporation of dexamethasone (DEX), while the porous hydrogel network potentiates the encapsulation of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and L-alanyl-l-glutamine (ALG). DA moieties in HA components allow firm adhesion of the hydrogel to the ulcerative lesions after in-situ implantation, while the reversible host-guest interaction between CD and AD could enhance the persistence of hydrogel. The hydrogel demonstrated favorable biocompatibility and could continuously release DEX to induce M1-to-M2 repolarization of mucosal macrophages through inhibiting the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)-nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) axis. Furthermore, the co-delivered bFGF and ALG facilitates the regeneration of ulcerative mucosa and restore its barrier functions to ameliorate UC symptoms. The mechanically resilient hydrogel offers an integrative approach for UC therapy in the clinics.

Abstract
cGAS-STING signaling is a central component in the therapeutic action of most existing cancer therapies. The accumulated knowledge of tumor immunoregulatory network in recent years has spurred the development of cGAS-STING agonists for tumor treatment as an effective immunotherapeutic strategy. However, the clinical translation of these agonists is thus far unsatisfactory because of the low immunostimulatory efficacy and unrestricted side effects under clinically relevant conditions. Interestingly, the rational integration of biomaterial technology offers a promising approach to overcome these limitations for more effective and safer cGAS-STING-mediated tumor therapy. Herein, we first outline the cGAS-STING signaling axis and generally discuss its association with tumors. We then symmetrically summarize the recent progress in those biomaterial-based cGAS-STING agonism strategies to generate robust antitumor immunity, categorized by the chemical nature of those cGAS-STING stimulants and carrier substrates. Finally, a perspective is provided to discuss the existing challenges and potential opportunities in cGAS-STING modulation for tumor therapy.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of RNA m6A demethylase ALKBH5 gene deficiency on cerebellar morphology and function in the aged mice, and to explore the role of ALKBH5 in cerebellar degeneration. Methods: Western blot was performed to detect the protein level of ALKBH5 in the cerebellum of wild-type mice of various ages. The expression of NeuN, Calbindin-D28K, MAP2, GFAP and other proteins in the cerebella of middle-aged (12-month-old) and aged (18-month-old) wild-type mice and ALKBH5-/- mice was examined using immunohistochemistry. The balance beam test and gait analysis were performed to test the balance ability and motor coordination of the mice. Results: With aging of the mice, the expression of ALKBH5 in the cerebellum increased gradually in an age-dependent manner. In the aged mice, but not middle-aged mice, the body weight, whole brain weight and cerebellum weight of ALKBH5-/- mice decreased by 15%, 10% and 21%, respectively (P<0.05). The expression of ALKBH5 in the Purkinje cells was much higher than that in other types of neural cells. Correspondingly, ALKBH5-deficiency caused 40% reduction in the number of Purkinje cells, as well as the length and density of neuronal dendrites in the aged mice (P<0.01). In addition, the time for the aged ALKBH5-/- mice to pass the balance beam was 70% longer than that of the wild type mice of the same age, with unstable gaits (P<0.01). Conclusions: Gene deficiency of RNA m6A demethylase ALKBH5 causes cerebellar atrophy, Purkinje neuron loss and damage in the aged mice. These changes eventually affect mice's motor coordination and balance ability. These results suggest that imbalanced RNA m6A methylation may lead to neurodegenerative lesions in the cerebellum of mice.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The development of nursing interns' fundamental competencies should be a top focus because they represent an essential reserve for nursing professionals. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between spiritual care-giving competency (SCG) and nursing core competencies (NCC) among Chinese nursing interns, adopting a competency-based education (CBE) perspective, additionally, the study aims to examine how emotional intelligence (EI) serves as a mediator in this relationship. METHODS A nationwide online survey was completed by 1811 Chinese nursing interns at vocational colleges between June and July 2022 as part of a multi-site, cross-sectional, web-based study. Participants completed a demographic questionnaire and competencies inventory for the registered nurse questionnaire (CIRN), the Chinese version of the spiritual care-giving scale questionnaire (C-SCGS), and the Chinese version of the Wong and Law EI scale questionnaire (WLEIS-C). Means, standard deviations, t-tests, one-way ANOVA analysis, and Pearson's production correlation coefficients were calculated using IBM SPSS25.0 software. Mediated effect tests and studies utilizing the process plug-in SPSS developed by Hayes. RESULTS The NCCs of college nursing interns were related to whether working as student leaders, whether have a better self-learning evaluation level, whether a college nursing intern with good interpersonal relationship, and whether they intend to engage in the nursing profession in the future. The scores of NCC, EI, and SCG were (156.43±23.14), (61.55±9.10), and (167.64±20.52) respectively. There were positive correlations among SCG (r = 0.402), EI (r = 0.506), and NCC. The partial mediating effect of EI between SCG and NCC was 0.127, accounting for 36.29% of the total results. CONCLUSION The average levels of Chinese college nursing interns' NCC and SCG were at a moderate level. EI is mediating between SCG and NCC in Chinese nursing interns. This new perspective shows that developing and improving SCG and EI may improve NCC. We suggest modifying the nurse curriculum and instruction to strengthen NCC and integrating SCG and EI management into the nursing curriculum.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Turnover has significant impact on nursing management and nursing safety. Nurses working in the Emergency Department are especially vulnerable to high turnover intention because of their increased risk of work-family conflict associated with the work characteristics. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the effects of work-family conflict on emergency nurses' turnover intention and the role of positive and negative affect between work-family conflict and turnover intention. METHODS A cross-sectional study. Data were collected from 17582 nurses working in emergency department in China. We employed a standardized questionnaire to collect sociodemographic information and target work-family conflict, affect and turnover intention. Mediation analyses were performed for the data analyses. RESULTS On turnover intention, work-family conflict exerted both direct effect and indirect effect. The results also indicated that positive and negative affect partially mediated the effect of work-family conflict on turnover intention, and that 35.7% of this effect could be explained by mediating effects totally. CONCLUSIONS The findings highlight positive and negative affect concern during the process of nursing management and nursing managers should take active measures to reduce negative affect and improve positive affect in order to reduce turnover intention and maintain the stability of the emergency nursing workforce.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In the context of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, research on personal-job fit and physical and mental health was inadequate. We aimed to explore the relationship between personal-job fit and physical and mental health among medical staff during the two years after COVID-19 pandemic and verify emotional labor and burnout as mediators. METHODS A total of 2868 medical staff from two general hospitals, were included from July 3 to July 27, 2022, in Wuhan, China. SPSS was used for statistical description, and AMOS was used for structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the mediating effect of emotional labor and burnout. RESULTS In the SEM, the total effect of personal-job fit on physical and mental health was significant (β = 0.855, 95 % CI: 0.748-0.972). The mediating effect of surface acting between personal-job fit and physical and mental health was significant (β = 0.078, 95 % CI: 0.053-0.110). The mediating effect of burnout was significant (β = 0.220, 95 % CI: 0.175-0.274), but the mediating effect of deep acting was not significant (β = 0.006, 95 % CI: -0.013-0.025). The chain mediating effect of surface acting or deep acting and burnout between personal-job fit and physical and mental health was significant (β = 0.082, 95 % CI: 0.059-0.108; β = 0.049, 95 % CI: 0.038-0.063). LIMITATIONS Owing to the cross-sectional study, causal relationship, and direction of effects among variables could not be determined. CONCLUSIONS Personal-job fit has significant direct and indirect effects on physical and mental health. Monitoring and intervening in personal-job fit, emotional labor, and burnout might be effective ways to promoting physical and mental health among medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
In order to understand the heavy metal pollution of the industrial and mining area in northern Guangdong Province, topsoil samples (0-20 cm) from 209 sites in study area were collected, and the concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, and Zn were analyzed. The source and distribution characteristics of Cd, Cr, Hg, Ni, Pb, As, Cu, and Zn in soil samples were analyzed using the geographic information system (GIS) and principal component analysis (PCA), and the geo-accumulation index and potential ecological hazard index were used to evaluate their pollution status and ecological risk. The results showed that:① Except Ni, all seven heavy metal elements exceeded the national soil background value but were below the pollution risk screening value. The soil environment as a whole was relatively clean. ② The spatial distribution of heavy metals in soil differed. The contents of As and Pb showed northwest-southeast zonal distribution. The contents of Cd, Cu, Hg, and Zn generally decreased from the middle to the surrounding, which was consistent with the industrial and mining enterprise locations. However, the spatial distribution of Cr and Ni had no direct relationship with the location of pollution sources such as industrial enterprises. ③ The eight heavy metals could be identified as three principal components (PCs). PC1 (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) was mainly affected by human activities such as lead-zinc deposit dressing, traffic emissions, and agricultural production. However, PC2 (Cr and Ni) was a natural source, mainly affected by soil parent material. In addition, PC3 (As and Hg) was mainly affected by industrial activities such as non-ferrous metal smelting and thermal power generation. ④ According to the geo-accumulation index method, the risk degree of the eight heavy metals was:Cd>As>Zn>Hg>Pb>Cu>Cr=Ni. The contents of Cr and Ni in soil were at a no-risk level; the contents of As, Cu, Hg, Pb, and Zn were at a low-risk level; and the content of Cd was at a high-risk level. Most potential ecological hazards for single elements in the study area were at a mild risk level. In contrast, a small proportion of the surface soils in areas of intense industrial activity were subject to substantial levels of heavy metal stress and require further attention.

Abstract
Environmental problems caused by heavy metal pollution in soil have attracted widespread attention worldwide. Identifying and quantifying the heavy metal pollution sources and risks is crucial for subsequent soil management. In this study, an integrated source-risk method for source apportionment and risk assessment based on the PMF model, the geodetector model and the health risk assessment model (HRA) was proposed and applied. Analysis of Hg, As, Pb, Cd, Cu, Ni, Cr, and Zn in 208 topsoils showed that the average contents of eight heavy metals were 1.87-5.86 times greater than corresponding background values, among which Cd and As were relatively high, which were higher than the specified soil risk screening values, high-value areas of heavy metals are mainly concentrated in the central part of the study area. The source apportionment showed that the accumulation of heavy metals was affected by five sources: atmospheric deposition (16.3 %), natural sources (33.1 %), industrial activities dominated by metal mining (15.1 %), industrial activities dominated by metal smelting (12.6 %) and traffic sources (22.9 %). The results of the health risk assessment showed that the carcinogenic risks (adult: 4.74E-05, children: 7.41E-05) of heavy metals in soil to the study population were both acceptable, the non-carcinogenic risk of adult (THI = 0.277) was within the limit, while the non-carcinogenic risk of children (THI = 1.70) was higher than the limit value. Ingestion (89.5 %-95.9 %) contributed the greatest health risk among all exposure routes. Source 3 (arsenic-related industrial activities dominated by metal mining) contributed the most to the HI and CRI of adults and children (all above 50 %), therefore, in the formulation stage of soil management strategy in this area, priority should be given to the control and management of this pollution source. These results can provide more detailed support for environmental protection departments to propose targeted soil pollution control measures.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Feeding and eating disorders related to cognitive and psycho-behavioral symptoms are strongly associated with health status in persons with dementia (PWD). Non-pharmacological interventions have been the priority selection to address this significant issue. However, the direct targets of non-pharmacological interventions are unclear and there is no consistent evidence of recommendations on the intervention of different dementia stages and the settings of intervention practice. OBJECTIVE To provide caregivers with a set of self-help non-pharmacological interventions for feeding and eating disorders in PWD. METHODS Based on the process of evidence summary, a systematic literature search was performed on dementia websites and seven databases. Two researchers screened the studies independently and appraise the quality. The evidence was graded by Joanna Briggs Institute Grades of Recommendation. RESULTS Twenty-eight articles were included. Twenty-three non-pharmacological intervention recommendations were categorized into six themes containing oral nutritional supplementation, assistance with eating and drinking, person-centered mealtime care, environmental modification, education or training, and multi-component intervention. These interventions corresponded to three direct targets including improving engagement, making up for loss ability, and increasing food intake directly. They were applied to different stages of dementia and most interventions were targeted at PWD in long-term care institutions. CONCLUSION This article summarized the direct targets and the specific implementation of recommendations at different stages of dementia to provide caregivers with self-help non-pharmacological interventions. The practice of recommendations was more applicable to institutionalized PWD. When applied to PWD at home, caregivers need to identify the specific feeding and eating conditions at different stages and adopted the interventions in conjunction with the wishes of the PWD and professional advice.

PURPOSE Gross extrathyroidal extension (gETE) into major vessel is considered the most advanced stage of the locally advanced papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). Surgical intervention may not benefit some patients at this disease stage or even result in intraoperative death due to massive hemorrhage; however, it is still considered an effective strategy for most cases. The lack of description for this challenging invasion in PTC warrants detailed characterization of its pattern, risk factors, optimal surgical method, and prognostic value. METHODS In total, 3127 patients diagnosed as having PTC were enrolled and categorized into two the following groups, namely the major vessel invasion (MVI) group (n = 30) and the control group (n = 3097). Data regarding clinicopathological and demographic characteristics, vascular invasion sites, postoperative complications, locoregional recurrence, distant metastasis, and surgical strategies were collected. Predictive disease-free survival (DFS) was also compared between the two groups. RESULTS MVI was independently associated with invasion of the esophageal extension, age < 55 years, tumor size > 1 cm, lateral lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis (P = 0.00; P = 0.01; 0.05; P = 0.00; P = 0.00, respectively). The difference in the predictive DFS between the two groups was significant (P = 0.00), and the difference remained significant even in patients with ETE when compared with patients without ETE (P = 0.00). Additionally, predictive DFS did not differ significantly between patients who received vessel repairment and those who received vessel resection (P = 0.28). CONCLUSIONS This study first characterized the gross MVI pattern exhibited by PTC and the risk factors for MVI. Additionally, it demonstrated the DFS of patients with PTC. Extensive gross MVI significantly worsened the biological characteristics of PTC. Regardless of the high risk and difficulty of the operation, patients still benefited from the surgical intervention, and vessel repairment may be the optimal surgical strategy.

Abstract
Nanotechnology-enabled ferroptosis therapy is an emerging paradigm for tumor treatment, but amplifying ferroptotic damage in tumor cells in a safe and selective manner is still challenging, which severely hinders its clinical translation. In this study, we constructed a bio-inspired protein nanocomplex based on natural-occurring bovine serum albumin (BSA) and ferritin for efficient tumor elimination via cooperatively enhanced ferroptosis therapy. The long-circulating BSA molecules provided multiple anchoring points for the efficient loading of the GPX4-inhibiting ferroptosis inducer (1S, 3R) RAS-selective lethal 3 (RSL3), which was further complexed with ferritin via acidity-responsive glutaraldehyde linkers. The ferritin moieties may not only bind to transferrin receptor 1 overexpressed on tumor cell membrane for targeted endocytic uptake but also be degraded in lysosomes to induce iron overload, which could substantially promote the lipid peroxidation in tumor cells and cooperate with the glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4)-inhibiting capability of RSL3 to induce pronounced ferroptosis. The in vitro and in vivo results collectively demonstrated that the albumin-ferritin-based nanocomplex could present superior antitumor effects with no obvious adverse effects, which may open new avenues for the clinical translation of ferroptosis-dependent therapeutic modalities.

Abstract
An in-depth understanding of the ecological and health risks posed by heavy metals originating from various pollution sources is critical for foresighted soil-quality management. Based on 220 grid samples (2 × 2 km) analyzed for eight heavy metals (Cd, Hg, As, Pb, Cr, Ni, Cu, and Zn) in the Chenshui (CS) watershed of Hunan Province, China, we applied an integrated approach for identifying and apportioning pollution sources of soil heavy metals and exploring their source-specific pollution risks. This approach consists of three sequential steps: (1) source identification by combining the positive matrix factorization model with geostatistical analysis; (2) quantification of ecological, carcinogenic, and non-carcinogenic risks in a source-specific manner; (3) prioritization of sources in a holistic manner, considering both ecological risks and human health risks. Cd (68.0%) and Hg (13.3%) dominated the ecological risk in terms of ecological risk index; As dominated the non-carcinogenic health risk in terms of total hazard index (THI; adults: 84.8%, children: 84.7%) and the carcinogenic health risk in terms of total carcinogenic risk index (TCRI; adults: 69.0%, children: 68.8%). Among three exposure routes, oral ingestion (89.4-95.2%) was the predominant route for both adults and children. Compared with adults (THI = 0.41, TCRI = 7.01E-05), children (THI = 2.81, TCRI = 1.22E-04) had greater non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks. Four sources (F1-4) were identified for the CS watershed: atmospheric deposition related to coal-burning and traffic emissions (F1, 18.0%), natural sources from parent materials (F2, 34.3%), non-ferrous mining and smelting industry (F3, 37.9%), and historical arsenic-related activity (F4, 9.8%). The F3 source contributed the largest (45.2%) to the ecological risks, and the F4 source was the predominant contributor to non-carcinogenic (52.4%) and carcinogenic (64.6%) risks. The results highlight the importance of considering legacy As pollution from abandoned industries when developing risk reduction strategies in this region. The proposed methodology for source and risk identification and apportionment formulates the multidimensional concerns of pollution and the various associated risks into a tangible decision-making process to support soil pollution control.

Abstract
Thermal remediation has been widely used for the removal of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) from contaminated soil. The method has a high removal rate for semi-volatile organic pollutants; however, soil functionality is affected by the method because of the alteration of the soil properties. In this study, experimental soil was impregnated with phenanthrene (Phe), pyrene (Pyr), and benzo(a)pyrene (BaP); after natural air-dry aging, the thermal remediation experiment was carried out, using a tube-furnace and thermal gravimetry-Fourier transform infrared (TG-FTIR) equipment. More than 84% of the Phe and Pyr were lost in the aging stage, whereas the BaP was stable with 41% retention in the soil. After the thermal treatment, the desorption and decomposition of the pollutants and organic matter led to the removal of the PAHs; about 1% of the PAHs remained in the soil treated at 400 °C. The presence of the PAHs can promote the thermal reaction by slightly reducing the reaction activation energy by ~7-16%. The thermal remediation had a significant influence on the physical properties of the soil and destroyed the bioavailability by reducing the organic matter content. Therefore, a comprehensive consideration of effective PAH removal while preserving soil functionality may require a low temperature (100 °C) method for thermal remediation.

Abstract
Thyroid cancer is a prevalent human endocrine tumour. Surgical resection is a primary approach for well-differentiated thyroid cancers. Currently, the combination of chemotherapy with subsequent irradiation is a therapeutic strategy for the late stage or metastatic thyroid cancer. Yet, drug resistance and side-effects greatly limit widely clinical applications of chemotherapeutic drugs. The long non-coding RNA IQCH antisense RNA 1 (IQCH-AS1) is correlated with survival and diagnosis of cancer patients. Currently, the precise roles of IQCH-AS1 in thyroid cancer and the chemosensitivity of doxorubicin remain unclear. Here, we report IQCH-AS1 was significantly down-regulated in thyroid cancer tissues and cell lines. Overexpression of IQCH-AS1 effectively sensitized thyroid cancer cells to doxorubicin. From the established doxorubicin-resistant thyroid cancer cell line, 8505 C Doxo R, we detected that IQCH-AS1 was remarkedly suppressed in doxorubicin-resistant cells. Bioinformatics analysis, RNA pull-down and luciferase assays illustrated that IQCH-AS1 functioned as a ceRNA of miR-196a-5p which showed an oncogenic role in thyroid cancer. Overexpression of miR-196a-5p, which was upregulated in 8505 C Doxo R cells, significantly de-sensitized thyroid cancer cells to doxorubicin. Furthermore, PPP2R1B, which encode the protein phosphatase 2 A regulatory subunit A, was directly targeted by miR-196a-5p in thyroid cancer cells. Rescue experiments validated that recovery of miR-196a-5p in IQCH-AS1-overexpressing 8508 C doxorubicin resistant cells successfully reversed the IQCH-AS1-promoted doxorubicin sensitization via targeting PPP2R1B. Summarily, our study revealed new functions and molecular targets of the lncRNA-IQCH-AS1-mediated chemosensitivity of thyroid cancer, contributing to the development of anti-chemoresistant strategies against thyroid cancer.

Abstract
Surgery is currently a mainstream treatment modality for various solid tumor indications. However, aggressive resection of tumor tissues frequently causes postoperative complications, which severely undermine the well-being of patients. Moreover, the residue tumor cells may substantially increase the risk of local and distant tumor relapse. The recent development in black phosphorus (BP)-based nanomaterials offers a promising opportunity to address these clinical challenges. BP is an emerging nanomaterial with excellent biocompatibility and versatile functionality, which has already demonstrated great potential for a variety of biomedical applications including tumor therapy and tissue engineering. In this review, the recent advances in BP-based nanobiomaterials for the post-surgery treatment of solid tumor have been summarized, while specific emphasis was placed on their capability to continuously inhibit residue tumor growth at the surgery site as well as stimulating various healing mechanisms, aiming to preventing tumor relapse while promoting the healing of surgery-induced traumatic soft/hard tissue injuries. It is anticipated that the nanoengineered BP-based materials may open new avenues to tackle those clinical challenges in surgical treatment of solid tumors.

Abstract
Objective Complete endoscopic radical resection of thyroid cancer, especially through the areolar approach, can achieve curative and acceptable cosmetic effects in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma. However, some inherent characteristics of endoscopic procedures hamper functional protection of the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN). Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) is considered the most important accessory to protect the nerves during conventional radical thyroidectomy. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and necessity of IONM during complete endoscopic radical resection of thyroid cancer. Methods A total of 106 patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma were enrolled in the study between February 2013 and April 2018. Based on the use of the IONM technique, all patients were divided into the IONM (n = 54) and non‐IONM groups (n = 52). Overall, 66 RLNs were involved in the IONM group, and 61 RLNs were involved in the non‐IONM group. The time and ratio of RLN identification and the number of transient and permanent RLN injuries between both groups were compared. Results Compared to the non‐IONM group, the IONM group required less time for RLN identification (3.05 ± 1.58 vs. 9.36 ± 4.82 min, p < .01). The ratio of RLN identification in the IONM group was much higher than that in the non‐IONM group (100.00% vs. 88.52%, p = .01). A significant difference was observed in RLN transient injury between the two groups (one case accounting for 1.51% in the IONM group vs. eight cases accounting for 13.11% in the non‐IONM group; p = .03). Conclusion IONM significantly improved RLN identification and reduced transient RLN injuries during complete endoscopic radical resection. Level of Evidence 3b.

Abstract
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy has achieved unprecedented clinical success against hematologic malignancies. However, the transition of CAR-T cell therapies for solid tumors is limited by heterogenous antigen expression, immunosuppressive microenvironment (TME), immune adaptation of tumor cells and impeded CAR-T-cell infiltration/transportation. Recent studies increasingly reveal that tumor physical microenvironment could affect various aspects of tumor biology and impose profound impacts on the antitumor efficacy of CAR-T therapy. In this review, we discuss the critical roles of four physical cues in solid tumors for regulating the immune responses of CAR-T cells, which include solid stress, interstitial fluid pressure, stiffness and microarchitecture. We highlight new strategies exploiting these features to enhance the therapeutic potency of CAR-T cells in solid tumors by correlating with the state-of-the-art technologies in this field. A perspective on the future directions for developing new CAR-T therapies for solid tumor treatment is also provided.

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a nonapoptotic iron-dependent cell death pathway with a significant clinical potential, but its translation is impeded by lack of tumor-specific ferroptosis regulators and aberrant tumor iron metabolism. Herein, we report a combinational strategy based on clinically tested constituents to selectively induce ferroptosis in metabolically reprogrammed tumor cells through cooperative GPX4-inhibition and ferritinophagy-enabled Fe2+ reinforcement. Azido groups were first introduced on tumor cells using biocompatible long-circulating self-assemblies based on polyethylene glycol-disulfide-N-azidoacetyl-d-mannosamine via metabolic glycoengineering. The azido-expressing tumor cells could specifically react with dibenzocyclooctyne-modified disulfide-bridged nanoassemblies via bioorthogonal click reactions, where the nanoassemblies were loaded with ferroptosis inducer RSL3 and ferritinophagy initiator dihydroartemisinin (DHA) and could release them in a bioresponsive manner. DHA-initiated ferritinophagy could degrade intracellular ferritin to liberate stored iron species and cooperate with the RSL3-mediated GPX4-inhibition for enhanced ferroptosis therapy. This tumor-specific ferroptosis induction strategy provides a generally applicable therapy with enhanced translatability, especially for tumors lacking targetable endogenous receptors.

Abstract
Background Although breastfeeding is one of the top priorities for public health in China, the rate of breastfeeding is still low and a large number of women do not initiate breastfeeding due to various reasons. Hence, this study aimed to understand the decision-making of non-initiation and reveal the underlying reasons in order to protect, support, and promote breastfeeding. Methods In-depth, exploratory interviews were carried out with 13 new mothers who did not initiate breastfeeding. The collected data were analyzed by inductive content analysis. Results Although mothers generally understood the protective effects of breastfeeding, they believed that formula milk is a good alternative to human milk and even better in some aspects. Five core themes related to non-initiation decision-making emerged: (1) expected breastfeeding stress; (2) maladjustment to the maternal role; (3) concerns about physiological issues; (4) the lack of knowledge about the risks of artificial feeding; (5) belief that it is better not to initiate than to interrupt. Conclusions The environment for mothers to breastfeed in China is not supportive enough, and the medical staff and families should be held responsible for the non-initiation of breastfeeding. More professionals are needed to support mothers to solve their problems and breastfeeding education should be further expanded.

Abstract
Heavy metals in soil are a great threat to ecosystems and human health. The rapid development of industrialization has created a serious risk of heavy metal pollution in soil. The study took the industrial-intensive Dahetan subbasin as the typical area. The factors and interactions that affected the distribution of soil heavy metals (Cd, Hg, As, Pb and Cr) in the typical area were explored based on the Geodetector model. The analysis results were extended to predict high-risk areas of heavy metal pollution in the soil in the Xiangjiang River basin. The results showed that Cd, As and Pb were significantly affected by local industrial and mining activities, and Hg and Cr were primarily affected by natural factors, such as pH and soil type. Compared to a single factor, the interaction between factors had a greater impact on the concentration of heavy metals. The high-risk areas of soil heavy metal pollution in the Xiangjiang River basin were primarily concentrated in the upper reaches and middle reaches.Significant overlapping of high-risk areas of multiple heavy metals occurred in the west, middle and south of the basin. The spatial visualization of the high-risk areas was realized, and the influence of several factors was integrated via layer superposition. This study proposes a new idea to predict the high-risk areas of soil pollution in large-scale areas to provide a reference for the regional prevention and control of soil pollution.

Abstract
Heterogeneity in sediment and aquifer is universal, resulting in preferential flows of injected materials in the high permeability regions and forming flow by-passed zones in the low permeability regions during in-situ subsurface remediation. This adverse effect can considerably delay the completion of remedial operations and significantly increase the cost. Column experiments were designed and conducted to study the transport of starch- and starch-xanthan gum modified Fe-Mn binary oxide particles (SFM and SXFM) in saturated heterogeneous porous media and to reveal the particles' arsenic (As) stabilization performance. Fine-in-Coarse (FIC) and Coarse-in-Fine (CIF) patterns of heterogeneous packings were set up in the columns. Testing results demonstrated that starch-xanthan gum dual treatment on Fe-Mn binary oxides successfully improved the particles' migration capability in heterogeneous porous media and their distribution uniformity attributed to the profound shear thinning behavior of xanthan gum solution. The addition of xanthan gum to the system increased the viscosity and shear thinning property of the SXFM suspension, making it a better candidate for delivery. Both SFM and SXFM stabilized As in heterogeneously packed sediment collected from a contaminated site, with SXFM showing better stabilization performance than SFM. The stabilization effects of SXFM were 90.7-97.0%, compared to 82.0-95.2% of SFM.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Patients with advanced tumors often suffer from spinal metastatic tumor pain. The current drugs are less effective and have side effects. The objective was to explore the efficacy of iodine-125 particle implantation in the treatment of bone metastatic tumor pain. PATIENTS AND METHODS In a retrospective study, a total of 27 patients with bone metastatic tumors who could not receive surgery or radiotherapy and chemotherapy were analyzed. All patients received conventional treatment, with the visual analog scale (VAS) of >3 points, and the daily onset pain of >3 times. All patients received CT-guided iodine-125 particle implantation to treat local painful lesions. VAS scores were recorded before treatment (T0) and 1 day (T1), 7 days (T2), 30 days (T3), 90 days (T4), and 180 days (T5) after treatment. Kaplan-Meier analytical method was used to calculate the local control rate (LCR) and survival rate (SR). RESULTS All patients successfully completed the CT-guided iodine-125 particle implantation. There was no significant difference in VAS scores before and 1 day after surgery. However, compared with pre-operation, the VAS scores decreased at 7, 30, 90, and 180 days after surgery. The postoperative follow-up was 6-38 months, with a median of 16 months; the LCR at 1, 2, and 3 years after the follow-up were 87%, 51%, and 21%, respectively, and the SR was 84%, 43%, and 16%, respectively. Moreover, no serious adverse reactions were observed. CONCLUSIONS Iodine-125 particle implantation was effective in the treatment of bone metastatic tumor pain without serious complications, and hence, can be used clinically.

Abstract
Tendon is a vital connective tissue in human skeletal muscle system, and tendon injury is very common and intractable in clinic. Tendon development and repair are two closely related but still not fully understood processes. Tendon development involves multiple germ layer, as well as the regulation of diversity transcription factors (Scx et al.), proteins (Tnmd et al.) and signaling pathways (TGFβ et al.). The nature process of tendon repair is roughly divided in three stages, which are dominated by various cells and cell factors. This review will describe the whole process of tendon development and compare it with the process of tendon repair, focusing on the understanding and recent advances in the regulation of tendon development and repair. The study and comparison of tendon development and repair process can thus provide references and guidelines for treatment of tendon injuries.

Abstract
3D ZIF-67-particles-impregnated cellulose-nanofiber nanosheets with oriented macropores are synthesized via directional-freezing-assisted in situ self-assembly, and converted to 3D CoP-nanoparticle (NP)-embedded hierarchical, but macropores-oriented, N-doped carbon nanosheets via calcination and phosphidation. The obtained nanoarchitecture delivers overpotentials at 10 and 50 mA cm-2 and Tafel slope of 82.1 and 113.4 mV and 40.8 mV dec-1 in 0.5 M H2 SO4 , and of 97.1 and 136.6 mV and 51.2 mV dec-1 in 1 M KOH, all of which are superior to those of the most reported non-noble-metal-based hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts. This catalyst even surpasses commercial Pt/C for a much lower overpotential at high current densities, which is essential for large-scale hydrogen production. Its catalytic activity can be further optimized to become one of the best in both 0.5 M H2 SO4 and 1 M KOH. The outstanding catalytic activity is ascribed to the uniformly-dispersed small CoP NPs in the 3D carbon sheets and the hierarchical nanostructure with rich oriented pores. This work develops a facile, economical, and universal self-assembly strategy to fabricate uniquely nanostructured hybrids to simultaneously promote charge transfer and mass transport, and also offers an inexpensive and high-performance HER catalyst toward industry-scale water splitting.
