Abstract
BACKGROUND Enthesopathy is considered a crucial aspect of assessment and outcome in psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) is a critical tool for accurately detecting enthesitis. Recent research focuses on identifying simple biomarkers for detecting and monitoring psoriatic enthesopathy. Red cell distribution width (RDW), mean platelet volume (MPV), and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are components of a complete blood count (CBC) and are reliable bio-inflammatory markers in various rheumatic diseases. AIM OF WORK To measure MPV, RDW, and NLR in psoriatic enthesopathy and determine their relationship to disease activity and MSUS findings. PATIENTS AND METHODS This study focused on 30 people with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) as per CASPAR criteria, along with 20 control subjects. Enthesopathy was evaluated clinically using the Leeds Enthesitis Index (LEI). The modified Disease Activity Index of Psoriatic Arthritis (DAPSA28) was calculated, and RDW, MPV, NLR, CRP, and ESR were measured. Each enthesis in LEI was radiologically assessed using plain radiography and MSUS according to OMERACT definitions. RESULTS There was a significant relationship between clinical tenderness, the presence of enthesophytes on plain radiography, and MSUS findings at entheses sites (p < 0.001 for each). Psoriatic patients had higher levels of RDW and MPV (p < 0.001 and 0.01, respectively) than controls, with no significant differences in NLR (p = 0.189) between the two groups. RDW and MPV levels were positively correlated with the DAPSA28 score. CONCLUSION Monitoring PsA disease activity can be improved by considering RDW and MPV as reliable indicators and using them to screen for psoriatic enthesopathy with MSUS indices. Key points • Clinically identifying enthesitis in patients with PsA can be challenging. Imaging MSUS indices hold promise for objective analysis, but there is no consensus on which indices to use in clinical trials and daily practice. • Patients with psoriatic enthesopathy have higher RDW and MPV levels, which are positively correlated with DAPSA28 score. • RDW and MPV can be considered in the turn of improved screening of psoriatic enthesopathy with MSUS scores.

Abstract
To assess the efficacy and safety of topical insulin (TI) for treating neurotrophic keratopathy (NK) within one-month post-diabetic vitrectomy (DV) compared to conventional non-invasive measures, we conducted this retrospective case-control study including all eyes that developed acute NK (stages 2 and 3) following DV between October 2020 and June 2023. The control group included NK cases managed with preservative-free lubricant eye drops and prophylactic topical antibiotics. In contrast, the study group included NK cases treated with TI [1 unit per drop] four times daily, in addition to the previously mentioned treatment. The primary outcome measure was time to epithelial healing. Secondary outcome measures included any adverse effect of TI or the need for amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT). During the study period, 19 patients with a mean age of 49.3 ± 8.6 years received TI versus 18 controls with a mean age of 52.5 ± 10.7 years. Corneal epithelial healing was significantly faster in the TI-treated group compared to controls, with a mean difference of 12.16 days (95% CI 6.1-18.3, P = 0.001). Survival analysis indicated that the insulin-treated group had 0% and 20% of NK stages 2 and 3, respectively, that failed to achieve corneal epithelial healing, compared to 20% and 66.7% for the control group (P < 0.001). In the control group, two eyes required AMT due to progressive thinning. Additionally, three patients in the control group, progressing to stage 3 NK, were switched to TI, achieving healing after a mean of 14 days. No adverse effects were reported in the TI-treated group. Our study suggests that TI can effectively and safely promote the healing of NK after DV.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the safety and efficacy of botulinum-A toxin injections into the bulbospongiosus muscle for cases of lifelong drug-resistant premature ejaculation (PE). METHODS Ninety-eight outpatients diagnosed with lifelong PE were randomly assigned to two groups: the botulinum-A toxin group comprising forty-nine patients and the placebo (saline) group also consisting of forty-nine patients. A 100 U botulinum-A toxin was diluted into 10 cc of saline, with 5 cc injected into one side of the muscle (botulinum-A toxin group) guided by ultrasound to distribute across most muscle fibers. The same technique was applied using the same volume of saline injected into the bulbospongiosus muscle. Intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT), scores from the premature ejaculation profile (PEP), Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT), International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF), and recording of any complications were obtained. Follow-ups occurred at 1-, 3-, and 6-month post-procedure. RESULTS Cases receiving injections of botulinum-A toxin into the bulbospongiosus muscle showed notably extended intravaginal ejaculatory latency times compared to their initial performance after treatment. In addition, there were enhancements in PEP scores, and notably, no significant complications were reported. Conversely, the bilateral injection of saline into the bulbospongiosus muscle did not demonstrate any impact on ejaculation latencies. CONCLUSION Our study demonstrated that the injection of botulinum-A toxin into the bulbospongiosus muscle can serve as a safe and effective option for treating PE. Nonetheless, its clinical application warrants further studies involving larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods.

Abstract
Due to water scarcity challenges, efficient management of irrigation water is becoming crucial. Water use efficiency (WUE) involves increasing crop productivity without increasing water consumption. This study was carried out to study the effect of hydrogel, deficit irrigation and soil type on WUE, soil hydro-physical properties and lettuce productivity. For this purpose, four irrigation treatments (100%, 85%, 70% and 60% of full irrigation requirements), four hydrogel concentrations (0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3% w/w) and three soil textural classes (clay, loamy sand, and sandy-clay soil) were conducted in pot experiment at open field during two consecutive seasons. The results revealed that crop growth parameters and soil hydro-physical properties were significantly affected by hydrogel application rates. Hydrogel addition significantly enhanced head fresh and dry weights, chlorophyll content, number of leaves and WUE. Application of hydrogel at 0.3% and 85% of irrigation requirements achieved the highest WUE without significant yield reductions. Changes in the studied hydro-physical properties of soil were more dependent on soil texture and hydrogel application rate than on the amount of irrigation water. The significant decrease in soil saturated hydraulic conductivity and bulk density confirms that super absorbent hydrogels could be recommended to improve soil water retention and enhance water use efficiency under deficit irrigation conditions.

Abstract
This paper presents a super wideband and high-gain log periodic dipole array (LPDA) antenna. The overall structure of the antenna was constructed using microwave studio computer simulation technology. The optimal sizes of the planned antenna are 39 × 10× 0.254 mm3. The engineered antenna arrangement is implemented on an RT5880 substrate as a dielectric medium. The LPDA is arranged in four arms that are equally spaced on both lines. The main 50Ω feeder line is partially grounded at the back of the substrate. A combination of circular director units is being studied and tuned in a regular pattern at a predefined distance from the antenna. An improvement in gain of 3 dBi is the response of the director units. The Conformist LPDA is adjusted to achieve a wide range of millimeter wave bands ranging from 40 to over 70 GHz. The antenna resonates at 60 GHz, where the maximum realized gain of 14.97 dBi is attained. The antenna was tested for utilization in the V-band involving wireless personal area network (WPAN) applications recommended by IEEE 802.11ad and IEEE 802.15.3c. The outcomes of the constructed antenna elements' tests and simulations agree fairly well. The proposed layout works better than previous efforts in this field.

Abstract
Mosquito-borne diseases represent a growing health challenge over time. Numerous potential phytochemicals are target-specific, biodegradable, and eco-friendly. The larvicidal activity of essential oils, a jasmine blend consisting of Jasmine oil and Azores jasmine (AJ) (Jasminum sambac and Jasminum azoricum) and peppermint (PP) Mentha arvensis and their nanoformulations against 2nd and 4th instar larvae of Culex pipiens, was evaluated after subjecting to different concentrations (62.5, 125, 250, 500, 1000, and 2000 ppm). Two forms of phase-different nanodelivery systems of layered double hydroxide LDH and oil/water nanoemulsions were formulated. The synthesized nanoemulsions showed particle sizes of 199 and 333 nm for AJ-NE and PP-NE, with a polydispersity index of 0.249 and 0.198, respectively. Chemical and physiochemical analysis of TEM, SEM, XRD, zeta potential, drug loading capacity, and drug release measurements were done to confirm the synthesis and loading efficiencies of essential oils' active ingredients. At high concentrations of AJ and PP nanoemulsions (2000 ppm), O/W nanoemulsions showed higher larval mortality than both LDH conjugates and crude oils. The mortality rate reached 100% for 2nd and 4th instar larvae. The relative toxicities revealed that PP nanoemulsion (MA-NE) was the most effective larvicide, followed by AJ nanoemulsion (AJ-NE). There was a significant increase in defensive enzymes, phenoloxidase, and α and β-esterase enzymes in the treated groups. After treatment of L4 with AJ, AJ-NE, PP, and PP-NE, the levels of phenoloxidase were 545.67, 731.00, 700.00, and 799.67 u/mg, respectively, compared with control 669.67 u/mg. The activity levels of α-esterase were 9.71, 10.32, 8.91, and 10.55 mg α-naphthol/min/mg protein, respectively. It could be concluded that the AJ-NE and PP-NE nanoformulations have promising larvicidal activity and could act as safe and effective alternatives to chemical insecticides.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate whether the neurotoxic effects caused by methotrexate (MTX), a frequently used chemotherapy drug, could be improved by administering Spirulina platensis (SP) and/or thymoquinone (TQ). Seven groups of seven rats were assigned randomly for duration of 21 days. The groups consisted of a control group that was given saline only. The second group was given 500 mg/kg of SP orally; the third group was given 10 mg/kg of TQ orally. The fourth group was given a single IP dose of 20 mg/kg of MTX on the 15th day of the experiment. The fifth group was given both SP and MTX, the sixth group was given both TQ and MTX, and the seventh group was given SP, TQ, and MTX. After MTX exposure, the study found that AChE inhibition, depletion of glutathione, and increased levels of MDA occurred. MTX also decreased the activity of SOD and CAT, as well as the levels of inflammatory mediators such as IL-1, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α. MTX induced apoptosis in brain tissue. However, when MTX was combined with either SP or TQ, the harmful effects on the body were significantly reduced. This combination treatment resulted in a faster return to normal levels of biochemical, oxidative markers, inflammatory responses, and cell death. In conclusion, supplementation with SP or TQ could potentially alleviate MTX-induced neuronal injury, likely due to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic effects.

Abstract
PURPOSE To assess whether preoperative administration of silodosin can facilitate the placement of ureteral access sheath (UAS) prior to flexible ureteroscopy (F-URS) and reduce the occurrence of ureteric injury in challenging cases. METHODS This prospective randomized clinical trial was carried out on 147 patients diagnosed with upper ureteric stone or stone kidney, non-stented. The patients were randomly divided into two equal groups. Group A (silodosin group) included patients in whom F-URS was done with daily preoperative intake of 8 mg silodosin for 1 week and group B (placebo/control group) included patients in whom F-URS was done with daily preoperative intake of placebo tablets. RESULTS In group A, a total of 23 (33.3%) experienced ureteral wall injury following UAS insertion, while in group B, this occurred in 40 patients (59.7%). There was a statistically significant difference in the grade of ureteral wall injury between the two groups (P < 0.001). In the multiple regression analysis, age, operative time and silodosin were found to be significant risk factors for ureteral wall injury (P = 0.007, 0.041 and < 0.001, respectively). CONCLUSIONS The administration of silodosin prior to retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) effectively prevented significant ureteral wall damage and reduced initial postoperative discomfort.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lupus nephritis (LN) is one of the major complications associated with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM or CD166) is a promising urine biomarker that binds to CD6, a receptor found on lymphocytes. This binding results in T-cell activation, proliferation, and recruitment, which causes tissue inflammation and may explain the pathophysiology of LN. AIM OF WORK Investigate the urinary ALCAM level in SLE, study its relationship to disease activity, and clarify the association with LN activity and histopathology. PATIENTS AND METHODS A case-control study was performed on 60 patients with SLE and 20 matched controls. The SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) and the activity of renal disease (rSLEDAI) were evaluated. Renal biopsy and uALCAM levels were also investigated. RESULTS Urinary ALCAM levels were higher significantly in active LN patients than inactive LN patients, active and inactive non-LN SLE, and the control group (p < 0.001). The cut-off value for identifying active and inactive LN was above 270 ng/mg (p < 0.001). ALCAM levels were greater in proliferative (class III, IV, and IV/V) than in non-proliferative (class II and V) LN (p < 0.001). ALCAM exhibited high positive correlations with SLEDAI and rSLEDAI (p < 0.001 each) and negative significant correlations with C3 (p < 0.001) and C4 (p = 0.005). CONCLUSION Urinary ALCAM is a sensitive biomarker evaluating LN in SLE patients. Levels above 270 ng/mg can help distinguish between active and inactive LN. ALCAM levels are correlated positively with SLEDAI and rSLEDAI but have a negative correlation with C3 and C4. Key Points • Urinary ALCAM shows promise as a biomarker for evaluating kidney dysfunction in SLE patients. • It is a non-invasive marker that can differentiate between proliferative and non-proliferative LN. • A urinary ALCAM level above 270 ng/mg can indicate active LN, while lower levels indicate inactive LN. • Urinary ALCAM levels are correlated positively with SLEDAI and rSLEDAI scores but correlated negatively with C3 and C4.

Abstract
The main aim of this work is to study the effect of different nutrient supply systems and their effect on the performance of the Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and Lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. crispa) plant integration system. To achieve that, five treatments having different culture systems (T1: Aquaculture (control), T2: Hydroponics (standard requirement: N = 210, P = 31, K = 234, Mg = 48, Ca = 200, S = 64, Fe = 14, Mn = 0.5, Zn = 0.05, B = 0.5, Cu = 0.02 and Mo = 0.01 ppm), T3: Aquaponics without nutrients addition, T4: Aquaponics with supplementary nutrients (KNO3, 101 g L-1, KH2PO4, 136 g L-1, Ca(NO3)2, 236 g L-1, MgSO4, 246 g L-1, K2SO4, 115 g L-1 and chelates for trace elements) in water (EC is 800 ppm) and T5: Aquaponics with supplementary nutrients spray on plants) were carried out. The previous systems were operated at three flow rates, namely, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 L h-1 plant-1. The various water quality parameters, plant growth and fish growth were studied. The result indicated that the highest values of N, P, k, Ca and Mg consumption rate were found with T2 and 1.5 L h-1 plant-1 of flow rate. The root length, fresh and dry of shoot and root for lettuce plants grown in T2 system was better than those grown in different culture system (T3, T4 and T5). Different culture systems showed significant effect on fish growth in terms of weight gain, specific growth rate and feed efficiency ratio. Higher growth rate was observed in treatment T3 as compared to other treatments. The production costs ranged from 2820.5 to 4885.4 LE ($ = 30.92 LE) for all culture systems.

Abstract
The main aim of this study is to determine the physical and chemical properties of biochar synthesized from different materials (straw rice, sawdust, sugar cane, and tree leaves) at different pyrolysis temperatures (400, 600, and 800 °C). The physical and chemical properties such as moisture content, water holding capacity, bulk density, and porosity; and pH, electrical conductivity (EC), organic matter, organic carbon, total nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and sulfur were determined, respectively. The results show that the biochar yield decreased with increasing pyrolysis temperature, and the values of the analyzed properties varied depending on the type of biochar and pyrolysis temperature. The moisture content ranged from 1.11 to 4.18%, and the water holding capacity ranged from 12.9 to 27.6 g water g-1 dry sample. The highest value of bulk density (211.9 kg m-3) was obtained from sawdust at a pyrolysis temperature of 800 °C. The porosity values ranged from 45.9 to 63.7%. The highest values of pH and EC (10.4 and 3.46 dS m-1) were obtained from tree leaves at a pyrolysis temperature of 800 °C. Total organic matter ranged from 66.0 to 98.1%, total organic carbon ranged from 38.3 to 56.9%, and total nitrogen ranged from 0.4 to 1.9%. The highest values of phosphorus and calcium content (134.6 and 649.0 mg kg-1) were obtained from sugar cane at a pyrolysis temperature of 800 °C. The magnesium, sodium and sulfur content had ranges of 10.9-51.7, 1124-1703 and 3568-12,060 mg kg-1, respectively.

Abstract
The current study aimed to compare the utilization efficiency of iron (Fe) feed additives from either bulk or nano sources in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus diets on growth, haematological, immunity, anti-oxidative, and intestinal topography capacities. Five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets were performed; the basal diet served as a control with no Fe added, whereas the experimental diets were shaped by adding bulk-Fe2O3 and nano-Fe2O3 to the basal diet to preserve Fe levels at 0.2 and 0.4 mg kg-1, respectively. Results indicated that superior growth performance was recorded in fish-fed diets supplemented with 0.4 nano-Fe2O3 mg kg-1 diet. In addition, the highest (P ≤ 0.05) survival rate, absorption area of villous (AAV), mucosal to serosal amplification ratio (MSR), and villi parameters (height and width) were noticed in fish fed diet enrichment with either bulk or nano-Fe2O3 source. However, the superiority observed in nano-Fe2O3 fish groups. Also, the highest values of plasma albumin, total protein, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), white blood cells (WBCs), and lymphocyte absolute count (LYM) (P ≤ 0.05) recorded in fish fed a diet supplemented with nano-Fe2O3 versus the basal diet. Moreover, the highest values of catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and plasma lysozyme activity (P ≤ 0.05) were observed in fish fed 0.4 mg/kg-1 nano-Fe2O3, while the lowest value was recorded in fish fed the control diet. The best value of malondialdehyde activity (P ≤ 0.05) recorded in a fish-fed diet supplemented with 0.4 mg/kg-1 nano-Fe2O3. The current findings emphasize the importance of including Fe to improve fish growth, immunity, antioxidant capabilities, and intestinal structure, primarily with a nano-Fe source, which demonstrated a more effective function in satisfying Nile tilapia dietary Fe requirements and improving the aforementioned parameters.

Abstract
Bio-diesel is used for engine as a replacement of diesel fuel which is characterized by lower emission, low pollution and renewable some of fuel. This study focus on how to enhance the production of bio-oil from Jatropha seeds by using microwave and ultrasonic as pre-treatments. To achieve that, the effects of extraction temperature (60, 80, 100 and 120 °C) and extraction screw speed (60, 90 and 120 rpm) on oil extraction yield and quality, extraction energy requirements and extraction time and were studied. Studying the effect of pretreatments by microwave and ultrasonic on the yield, energy and time of extraction were studied. The results most important indicate that the highest oil yield (25.1%) was recorded at 120 °C extraction temperature and 60 rpm screw speed. The energy required for extraction ranged from 8 to 11.5 W.h depending on temperature and speed of extraction. The results indicated that using both pretreatments improve the oil yield by 5.03% for microwave and by 6.75% for ultrasonic. Finally, the results concluded that to produce 1 kg of biodiesel you need 1.1 kg raw oil and consume from 2052.5 W.h energy requirement.

Abstract
The treatment of fungal keratitis (FK) is challenging due to the subacute indolent course, and initial misdiagnosis. In this retrospective case series, we highlight both the diagnostic and therapeutic roles of corneal biopsy together with amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) in patients with refractory clinically presumed FK. Debulking biopsy and tectonic AMT were performed during the initial presentation. Biopsy specimens were sent for KOH smears and cultures. After KOH smears confirmed the presence of fungal elements, topical voriconazole 1% was prescribed for the first 72 h then tailored according to the clinical response and the culture results. The outcome measures were complete resolution of infection and restoration of corneal integrity. Cases associated with culture proven bacterial keratitis were excluded. Twelve cases were included in the study. KOH smears confirmed the presence of fungal growth in all specimens. Cultures grew Aspergillus in 6/12 cases, sensitive to voriconazole (5/6) and amphotericin (3/6); Fusarium (4/12), sensitive to both voriconazole and amphotericin; and no growth in 2/12 cases. Amphotericin 0.15% eye drops were added to the 7 cases with proven sensitivity and to the remaining 2 culture negative cases. Gradual resolution of infection was seen in all cases after 35.6 ± 7.8 days. In FK, a debulking biopsy simultaneously with AMT help decrease the microbial load, suppress the inflammatory process, support the corneal integrity, confirm the presence of fungal pathogen.

Abstract
Acetaminophen (APAP), a widely used medication known for its pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects, can cause kidney failure if taken in excess. To investigate the potential protective effects of allicin (ALC) and/or omega-3 fatty acids (O3FA) against acetaminophen-induced kidney damage, a study was conducted using 49 rats divided into seven groups. The control group was given saline, while the other groups received ALC, O3FA, APAP, ALC + APAP, O3FA + APAP, or ALC + O3FA + APAP. After administering APAP, the rats showed decreased levels of total protein and albumin in their blood, along with increased levels of creatinine and urea. The concentration of reduced glutathione (GSH), as well as the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), decreased, while the level of malondialdehyde (MDA) in the renal tissues increased. The activation of caspase-3 and HSP70 also suggested an impact on kidney histopathology. Overall, the study found that ALC and/or O3FA may have a protective impact against acetaminophen-induced kidney damage through their anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and antioxidant defense systems.

Abstract
Reducing bacterial pathogen contamination not only improves overall global public health but also diminishes food waste and loss. The use of lytic bacteriophages (phages) that infect and kill bacteria could be a beneficial tool for suppressing bacterial growth during dairy products storage time. Four Enterobacter cloacae (E. cloacae) complex isolates which were previously isolated from contaminated dairy products were used to identify lytic phages in wastewater. Phages specific to multi-drug resistant (MDR) E. cloacae complex 6AS1 were isolated from local sewage. Two novel phages vB_EclM-EP1 and vB_EclM-EP2 were identified as myoviral particles and have double-stranded DNA genome. Their host range and lytic capabilities were detected using spot test and efficiency of plating (EOP) against several bacterial isolates. The phages had a latent period of 30 min, and a large burst size of about 100 and 142 PFU/cell for vB_EclM-EP1 and vB_EclM-EP2, respectively. Both phages were viable at pH ranging 5-9 and stable at 70 °C for 60 min. The individual phages and their cocktail preparations (vB_EclM-EP1 and vB_EclM-EP2) reduced and inhibited the growth of E. cloacae complex 6AS1 during challenge test in milk and yogurt samples. These results indicate that the E. cloacae complex-specific phages (vB_EclM-EP1 and vB_EclM-EP2) have a potential application as microbicidal agents in packaged milk and milk derivatives during storage time. In addition, our environment is a rich sources of lytic phages which have potential use in eliminating multidrug-resistant isolates in food industry as well as in biocontrol.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To prospectively investigate the safety and efficacy of antegrade flexible ureteroscopy (FURS) with the following criteria (supine, ultrasonic guided puncture through lower calyx with 14 fr tract, tubeless) versus retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) in the management of large impacted upper ureteric stones ≥ 1.5 cm. PATIENTS AND METHODS This study recruited 61 patients with single large impacted upper ureteric stone of ≥ 1.5 cm. The patients were randomly allocated to two groups. Group A, included 31 patients who treated by antegrade FURS, all patients were put in supine modified galadako Valdivia position and the renal access is reached by ultrasonic guided puncture through the lower calyx with dilatation upto 14 fr to insert ureteric access sheath and all cases were tubless with JJ stent insertion. Group B, included 30 patients who were treated by RIRS with JJ stent insertion. Stone fragmentation was done by holmium laser in both group. RESULTS Group A was significantly associated with higher proportion of SFR (90.3%) compared to Group B (70%) (p = 0.046). Group B was significantly associated with shorter operative time and fluoroscopy time in comparison with Group A (p < 0.001). No significant differences were found between studied groups regarding bleeding (p = 0.238). Urosepsis showed significantly higher proportion associated with retrograde approach when compared to antegrade approach (p = 0.024). CONCLUSION This study showed that antegrade FURS is safe and more effective than RIRS for the management of large impacted upper ureteric stones ≥ 1.5 cm.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The development of an environment-friendly nanomaterial with promising antimicrobial and antioxidant properties is highly desirable. The decolorization potentiality of toxic dyes using nanoparticles is a progressively serious worldwide issue. METHODS The successful biosynthesis of zinc nanoparticles based on phosphates (ZnP-nps) was performed using the extracellular secretions of Aspergillus fumigatus. The antibacterial activity of the biosynthetic ZnP-nps was investigated against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria using the agar diffusion assay method. The antioxidant property for the biosynthetic nanomaterial was evaluated by DPPH and H2O2 radical scavenging assay. RESULTS Remarkable antibacterial and antiradical scavenging activities of ZnP-nps were observed in a dose-dependent manner. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli was 25 µg/ml, however, the MIC for Bacillus subtilis was 12.5 µg/ml. The maximum adsorptive performance of nanomaterial was respectively achieved at initial dye concentration of 200 mg/L and 150 mg/L using methylene blue (MB) and methyl orange (MO), where sorbent dosages were 0.5 g for MB and 0.75 g for MB; pH was 8.0 for MB and 4.0 for MO; temperature was 30 °C; contact time was 120 min. The experimental data was better obeyed with Langmuir's isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2 > 0.999). The maximum adsorption capacity (qmax) of MB and MO dyes on nanomaterial were 178.25 mg/g and 50.10 mg/g, respectively. The regenerated nanomaterial, respectively, persist > 90% and 60% for MB and MO after 6 successive cycles. The adsorption capacity of the prepared zinc phosphate nanosheets crystal toward MB and MO, in the present study, was comparable/superior with other previously engineered adsorbents. CONCLUSIONS Based on the above results, the biosynthesized ZnP-nanosheets are promising nanomaterial for their application in sustainable dye decolorization processes and they can be employed in controlling different pathogenic bacteria with a potential application as antiradical scavenging agent. Up to our knowledge, this is probably the first study conducted on the green synthesis of ZnP-nanosheets by filamentous fungus and its significant in sustainable dye decolorization.

Abstract
Mosquitoes still pose a clear risk to human and animal health. Recently, nanomaterials have been considered one of the cost-effective solutions to this problem. Therefore, alumina nanoparticles (Al) were synthesized using an auto-combustion method, followed by calcination at 600 and 800 °C. Glucose (G) and sucrose (Su) were used as fuels and the combustion was performed at pH 2, 7, and 10. The as-synthesized Al2O3 nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, and TEM. Alumina nanoparticles prepared using G and Su fuels at pH 7 and 800 °C (Al-G7-800 and Al-Su7-800) have crystallite sizes of 3.9 and 4.05 nm, respectively. While the samples (Al-G7-600 and Al-Su7-600) synthesized at pH 7 and 600 °C were amorphous. The prepared alumina nanoparticles were applied to the larval and pupal stages of Culex pipiens. The results showed that alumina nanoparticles cause higher mortality in the 1st larval instar than in all other larval instars and pupal stages of Culex pipiens after treatment at a high concentration of 200 ppm. Additionally, the larval duration after treatment with LC50 concentrations of alumina (Al-G7-800 and Al-Su7-800) was 31.7 and 23.6 days, respectively, compared to the control (13.3 days). The recorded data found that the content of glutathione-S-transferase, alkaline/acid phosphatase, β/α-esterase, and total protein were altered upon treatment with the LC50 concentration of alumina (Al-G7-800) nanoparticles. Based on these findings, alumina nanoparticles are a promising candidate as a potential weapon to control pests and mosquitoes.

Abstract
Aquaponics is the combined culture of fish and plants in recirculating aquaculture systems, considered to be an innovative, eco-friendly and sustainable technology. The effect of the hydraulic loading rate (HLR) on the performance of fish and plants in the aquapoinc system was the main aim of this study. Four hydraulic loading rates were applied, 1.2, 1.8, 2.4 and 3.0 m day-1 under stocking density tilapia fish of 5 kg m-3 and lettuce population of 25 plant m-2 for a period of January to March, 2023. Water parameters, plant and fish parameters were determined. The most important results revealed that the highest plant nutrients removal was at HLR of 2.4 m day-1. The highest value of water parameters were found at the HLR of 2.4 m day-1. Root length increased with increasing HLR. Fresh and dry shoot and root weight values were higher at 2.4 m day-1 compared to other treatments under study. Meanwhile, fish growth parameter showed higher values at the HLR of 3.0 m day-1 compared to other treatments. The highest values of weight gain, feed growth rate, specific growth rate and feed conversion ratio were 81.72 g, 1.36 g day-1, 1.88% day-1 and 1.20 g feed g-1 fish, respectively, for all treatments under study.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Miserable malalignment syndrome is a complex torsional lower limb deformity with limited consensus on surgical treatment. We present the outcome of de-rotation of the tibia alone using an external fixator. METHODS Fifteen patients (22 segments) were operated on between 2012 and 2020; 13 presented with anterior knee pain, and two presented with out-toeing. Gait analysis was done in nine patients, and CT scan rotational profile, including tibial tubercle-trochlear groove distance, femoral version, and tibial torsion, were calculated. Kujala knee pain score and visual analogue pain score (VAS) were recorded. All underwent infra-tubercular osteotomy of the tibia and midshaft osteotmy of the fibula and application of a hexapod circular frame to gradually internally rotate the tibia until the foot aligned with the patella. RESULTS There was no preoperative clinical or radiographic evidence for patellar instability, femoral anteversion 30° (21°-54°), and external tibial torsion 50° (37-70). The mean age at surgery was 21 years (12-37) with a mean follow-up of 20 months (9-83). All osteotomies healed, and the frames were removed at a mean of 111 days (80-168). The mean VAS score improved from 8(5-9) to 1(0-4) postoperatively (P < 0.001). The mean Kujala knee pain score increased from 53 (30-75) to 92 (54-100) postoperatively (P < 0.001). The mean preoperative foot progression angle (FPA) was 37° (20°-50°), with 13 postoperatively walking with neutral FPA. One patient walked with symmetrical + 10° and the other with - 5° FPA. All patients reported relief of knee pain and were satisfied with the alignment. CONCLUSION Gradual correction of severe external tibia torsion with a hexapod external fixator and an infra-tubercle tibial osteotomy could provide an optimum method to eliminate knee pain and improve limb alignment in miserable malalignment syndrome.

Abstract
Hyalomma dromedarii is an important tick species infesting livestock. This work evaluated the novel adulticidal, insect growth-regulating, and enzymatic efficacy of ethanol plant extracts of Aloe vera and Rheum rhabarbarum and their nanoemulsions against males and engorged females of the camel tick, H. dromedarii. The physicochemical properties of nanoemulsions were evaluated. The High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analyses indicated that the extracts contained polyphenols and flavonoids, which could enhance their acaricidal effect. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) of the nanoemulsions of A. vera and R. rhabarbarum were 196.7 and 291 nm, whereas their zeta potentials were - 29.1 and - 53.1 mV, respectively. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) indicated that nanoemulsions showed a regular spherical shape (less than 100 nm). Fifteen days post-treatment (PT) with 25%, the mortality% of A. vera and R. rhabarbarum were 88.5 and 96.2%, respectively. Five days PT, the median lethal concentration values of A. vera, R. rhabarbarum, and their nanoemulsions were 7.8, 7.1, 2.8, and 1.02%, respectively, and their toxicity indices were 91.02, 100, 36.4, and 100%, respectively. Their median lethal time values PT with 3.5% were 6.09, 5.09, 1.75, and 1.34 days, respectively. Nanoemulsions enhanced the efficacy of the crude extract 1-7 folds, 5 days PT, and accelerated their speed of killing ticks 2-4 times. The total protein and carbohydrates, Acetylcholinesterase, Alpha esterase, and Amylase were affected PT. The reproductive potential of engorged females was adversely impacted. In conclusion, the novel A. vera and R. rhabarbarum extracts were promising acaricides, and their nanoformulations enhanced their efficacies.

Abstract
A new fractional non-Fourier (Cattaneo) photovoltaic (PV) model is presented to enhance the thermal performance of a PV system combined with a heat spreader (HS). The fractional Cattaneo model is shown to be effective in examining transient processes across the entirety of a PV system, in contrast to the conventional Fourier model's inability to predict system performance. Consequently, a comparison is conducted between the classical Fourier model with the fractional Fourier and fractional Cattaneo models for the PV system. The impact of using an aluminum heat spreader, with rectangular and trapezoidal shapes, has been developed under hot and cold climate conditions. The findings show that adding a trapezoidal heat spreader reduced the cell temperature by 20 K in summer and 12 K in winter. The reduction in the PV temperature led to an enhancement in daily average power by approximately 28% and 37% in hot and cold weather, respectively. Moreover, economic, exergoeconomic, and enviroeconomic assessment is introduced. The outcomes revealed that the electrical production costs of the rectangular and trapezoidal HS systems are 0.272 and 0.214 $/kWh, respectively, while about 0.286 $/kWh for the conventional PV panel. Based on the environmental study, the estimated CO2 reduction for PV, PV with rectangular HS, and PV with trapezoidal spreader is 0.5504, 0.7704, and 0.8012 tons, respectively. Finally, real experimental data are used to validate the fractional Cattaneo model. The results demonstrate that there is a great fitting with the measured data, with errors in PV power and exergy efficiency of just 0.628% and 3.84%, respectively, whereas their corresponding values for the classical model are 5.72 and 13.13%.

Abstract
The goal of the current study was to compare how well Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, utilized copper (Cu) as bulk and nano sources by evaluating fish growth, body indices, hematological assays, plasma metabolites, immune and anti-oxidative abilities, and intestinal morphometric measurements. The basal diet served as a control, with no Cu added, whereas the experimental diets were formed by adding bulk-Cu and nano-Cu to the basal diet to keep Cu levels at 3 and 6 mg kg-1, respectively, in both Cu sources. Tilapia (9.10 ± 0.014 g) were fed the control diet and four experimental diets for 12 weeks. Results indicated that growth, feed utilization, and body indices demonstrated a substantial improvement (P ≤ 0.05) in tilapia that received a diet containing 3 and 6 Nano-Cu mg kg-1 diet, compared to the performance of fish that received diets containing 3 and 6 Bulk-Cu mg kg-1 diet and the control diet. Villi height, villi width, absorption area of villous (AAV), and mucosal to serosal amplification ratio (MSR) values demonstrated a substantial increase (P ≤ 0.05) in tilapia fed 3 and 6 mg kg-1 Nano-Cu compared to the values observed in fish fed the control and Bulk-Cu supplemented diets. Fish fed Bulk-Cu recorded the highest (P ≤ 0.05) hemoglobin concentration in those fed 6 mg kg-1 compared to 3 mg kg-1. Hematocrit value considerably improved (P ≤ 0.05) by supplementation of Cu, whereas the highest significant value demonstrated in fish provided 6 mg/kg-1 Nano-Cu. A fish-fed diet containing 3 mg kg-1 Nano-Cu revealed the best (P ≤ 0.05) values of plasma albumin, total protein, and globulins. Plasma HDL-C highest concentrations (P ≤ 0.05) were reported in fish fed diet supplemented with 6 mg/kg-1 either Bulk or Nano Cu, whereas values of plasma TG and VLDL-C declined as Cu supplementation level increased either from Bulk or Nano source. Also, the best (P ≤ 0.05) values of CAT and GPX were seen in fish given diet supplemented with 6 Nano-Cu mg/kg-1. Fillets of fish-fed Nano-Cu-supplemented diets showed a marked decline (P ≤ 0.05) in moisture and fat contents, while crude protein, ash, and Cu contents considerably increased in the fillet by dietary supplementation of Nano-Cu at both levels 3 and 6 mg kg-1. In conclusion, the supplemental diets with 3 or 6 Nano-Cu mg/kg-1 enhanced growth, feed utilization, body indices, fillet nutrient composition, hematological assay, plasma metabolites, immune, antioxidant activities, and intestinal morphometry of Nile tilapia.

Abstract
Pseudomonas spp are considered a common milk-associated psychotropic bacteria, leading to milk deterioration during storage; therefore, our study aimed to study the distribution of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in raw milk and its associated products then studying the growth behavior of P. aeruginosa in milk after employing chitosan nanoparticles (CsNPs 50, 25, and 15 mg/100ml) and selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs 0.5, 0.3 and 0.1 mg/100ml) as a trial to control the bacterial growth in milk during five days of cooling storage. Our study relies on the ion gelation method and green synthesis for the conversion of chitosan and selenium to nanosized particles respectively, we subsequently confirmed their shape using SEM and TEM. We employing Pseudomonas selective agar medium for monitoring the bacterial growth along the cooling storage. Our findings reported that high prevalence of Pseudomonas spp count in raw milk and kareish cheese and high incidence percent of P. aeruginosa in ice cream and yogurt respectively. Both synthesized nanoparticles exhibited antibacterial activity in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, CsNPs50 could inhibit the P. aeruginosa survival growth to a mean average of 2.62 ± 1.18 log10cfu/ml in the fifth day of milk cooling storage; also, it was noted that the hexagonal particles SeNPs0.5 could inhibit 2.49 ± 11 log10cfu/ml in comparison to the control P. aeruginosa milk group exhibited growth survival rate 7.24 ± 2.57 log10cfu/ml under the same conditions. In conclusion, we suggest employing chitosan and selenium nanoparticles to improve milk safety and recommend future studies for the fate of nanoparticles in milk.

Abstract
The current study proposes a new strategy for using small hydroelectric turbines in downstream river branches with the least amount of construction and the lowest cost by comparing two different methods of installing the turbines, the first by installing the turbines at the river's bottom and the second by installing the turbines on floating boats. The methodology of this article is based on predicting the distribution of velocities through the watercourse using experimental data collected at various points in the river's depth, and then predicting the resulting electrical power for different sizes of turbines, as well as estimating the number of turbines for each row and the number of rows along the river. Therefore, Investigate the proposed systems. The proposed small hydropower system's economic viability and environmental impact are investigated in this article. According to the nature of the waterway, the best diameter of a turbine that can be used is 1.5 m based on water velocities and river depths. The proposed power plant generated 25.8 kW per single turbine row, with an estimated cost of produced power (0.035 USD/kWh) of approximately 20 turbines installed per row. Compared to other renewable energy sources, the proposed hydropower system is cost-effective and environmentally friendly, as generating electricity with the proposed small hydropower plant could reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 368 tones of CO2 per single turbine row.

Abstract
The basil leaves were dried different sources of energy at different loading rates. Using hybrid solar drying compared to the conventional source of energy such as fossil and propane. Drying parameters were studied. Also, product quality was assessed under study treatments. The results indicated that the higher accumulated weight loss of basil leaves (75.56%) were obtained at 25 kg m-2 loading rate and solar drying system. The highest rate of the decrease in moisture content of basil leaves was happened at the 45 kg m-2 loading rates. Meanwhile, the lowest rate of the decrease in moisture content of basil leaves was found at 15 kg m-2 loading rates. The highest drying rate of basil leaves (219.54 gwater kg-1 h-1) was obtained at the loading rate of 15 kg m-2. The highest values of total chlorophyll and color of basil leaves 745.9 and 36.35 were found for solar dryer. The lowest values of total chlorophyll and color of basil leaves 703.5 and 31.66 were found for diesel dryer. The drying efficiency ranged from 33.98 to 40.33% for all batch loads. The highest essential oil yield obtained for solar dryer, the lowest essential oil yield occurred for diesel dryer. The highest value of volatile compounds with found for solar dryer. The total costs for basil drying were 19.73, 26.70 and 23.93 LE h-1 for solar, diesel and propane dryers, respectively. Also, the total costs of basil drying were 8.77, 13.15 and 12.27 LE kg-1 dried for solar, diesel and propane dryers, respectively.

Abstract
This article presents frequency regulation of an interconnected three-area power system (Thermal + Wind + Hydro). Fractional Order PID (FOPID) and Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are applied as subsidiary regulators to control the electrical power interconnected system at the time of sudden load variation. To accomplish this study, Genetic Algorithm (GA), Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO), Sine Cosine Inspired Algorithm (SCIA) and Atom Search Inspired Algorithm (ASIA) are implemented to optimize the secondary regulators' gains (PID and FOPID) by considering various cost functions such as Integral Absolute Error (IAE), Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE), Integral Square Error (ISE), and Integral Time Square Error (ITSE). Performance analysis in this work is conducted using various cost functions based on GA, GWO, SCIA and ASIA. The comparative analysis of the attained results reveals that GWO-PID and ASIA-PID settle at (83.83 s) and (30.31 s), respectively and ASIA-FOPID at (25.12 s). The controllers based on ITSE as a cost function outperform the comptrollers with other cost functions (ISE, IAE and ITAE). In addition, the ISE-based GA-PID and SCIA-PID settle at (113.92 s) and (35.1 s), respectively and SCIA-FOPID at (24.78 s). The ISE-based regulators yield improved response equated to other cost functions (ITSE, IAE and ITAE) optimized controllers. The robustness test also is carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed optimization techniques by changing the system parameters within ± 25% and ± 50% from their nominal values as well as changing the load pattern.

Abstract
Various overvoltage mitigation schemes were used in literature in suppression of switching overvoltages in wind farms. However, the evaluation of how the effectiveness of these mitigation techniques would vary with the change of the wind farm topology is still un-explored territory. The main aim of this paper is to study the effectiveness of four mitigation schemes while using SF6 circuit breaker namely; R-L smart choke, R-C snubber circuit, surge capacitor and pre-insertion resistor (PIR) were studied in four different wind farm topologies; radial, single-sided ring, double-sided ring and star topologies. The topologies were based on a real wind farm located in Zaafrana, Egypt. The results showed that R-L choke to be the most effective scheme for all topologies followed by PIR, R-C snubber and surge capacitor schemes respectively. Their percentage of reduction of overvoltage ranged from 62 to 84% for R-L choke, 33-67% for PIR, 8-25% for R-C snubber circuits and 4-15% for surge capacitors. Also, it was shown that the change of the wind farm topology didn't affect the order of effectiveness of the mitigation schemes such that R-L remained the most effective and surge capacitor the least effective for all topologies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral infection first reported in May 2022. Monkeypox cases present with prodromal symptoms, rash, and/or systemic complications. This study systematically reviews the monkeypox cases presented with any cardiac complications. METHODS A systematic literature search was done to locate papers that discuss any cardiac complications associated with monkeypox; then, data were analyzed qualitatively. RESULTS Nine articles, including the 13 cases that reported cardiac complications of the disease, were included in the review. Five cases previously had sex with men, and two cases had unprotected intercourse, which reveals the importance of the sexual route in disease transmission. All cases have a wide spectrum of cardiac complications, such as acute myocarditis, pericarditis, pericardial effusion, and myopericarditis. CONCLUSION This study clarifies the potential for cardiac complications in monkeypox cases and provides avenues for future research to determine the underlying mechanism. Also, we found that the cases with pericarditis were treated with colchicine, and those with myocarditis were treated with supportive care or cardioprotective treatment (Bisoprolol and Ramipril). Furthermore, Tecovirimat is used as an antiviral drug for 14 days.

Abstract
Systems for retrieving and managing content-based medical images are becoming more important, especially as medical imaging technology advances and the medical image database grows. In addition, these systems can also use medical images to better grasp and gain a deeper understanding of the causes and treatments of different diseases, not just for diagnostic purposes. For achieving all these purposes, there is a critical need for an efficient and accurate content-based medical image retrieval (CBMIR) method. This paper proposes an efficient method (RbQE) for the retrieval of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) images. RbQE is based on expanding the features of querying and exploiting the pre-trained learning models AlexNet and VGG-19 to extract compact, deep, and high-level features from medical images. There are two searching procedures in RbQE: a rapid search and a final search. In the rapid search, the original query is expanded by retrieving the top-ranked images from each class and is used to reformulate the query by calculating the mean values for deep features of the top-ranked images, resulting in a new query for each class. In the final search, the new query that is most similar to the original query will be used for retrieval from the database. The performance of the proposed method has been compared to state-of-the-art methods on four publicly available standard databases, namely, TCIA-CT, EXACT09-CT, NEMA-CT, and OASIS-MRI. Experimental results show that the proposed method exceeds the compared methods by 0.84%, 4.86%, 1.24%, and 14.34% in average retrieval precision (ARP) for the TCIA-CT, EXACT09-CT, NEMA-CT, and OASIS-MRI databases, respectively.

Abstract
Evaluating residual lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) levels in food products, especially milk, is critical for product safety and quality. In this purview, the current study aims to determine Pb and Cd concentrations in milk using atomic absorption spectrophotometry and compare their values with international standards. In addition, it aims to remove these metals from milk samples using low-cost, naturally occurring materials, such as bentonite, date pit, and chitosan nanoparticles. The ability of potential adsorbents was also investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), and transmission electron microscope (TEM). Moreover, their impact on milk's nutritional properties was considered. The results revealed that most milk samples contained Pb and Cd, with mean values of 0.237 ± 0.179 and 0.041 ± 0.036 mg/kg, respectively. Furthermore, the three possible adsorbents demonstrated high sequestering ability due to their existing functional groups; the adsorption capacity of bentonite to Pb and Cd was 84 and 88%, date pit was 97 and 93%, and chitosan nanoparticles were 82 and 98%, respectively, with no discernible change in milk nutritional contents. In conclusion, the bentonite, date pit, and chitosan nanoparticles were found to be significantly effective and safe in removing hazardous trace elements (Pb and Cd) from contaminated milk.

Abstract
Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most diagnosed cancer in 112 countries and the second leading cause of death in men in 48 countries. We studied the outstanding agents silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and Spirulina algae (Sp) for the management of PCa once as monotherapy or last as a combination. PCa in rats was induced using bicalutamide (Casodex®) and testosterone, followed by (7, 12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene). Then, testosterone was injected s.c. for 3 months. Rats were divided into six groups, with 12 rats in each group. Group I was assigned as the control (co), group II as the PCa model, group III treated with AgNPs, group IV treated with Spirulina extract, group V treated with a combination of AgNPs plus Spirulina, and group VI treated with bicalutamide. The results show that AgNPs could normalize IL-6 levels and could overcome the hormonal disturbance induced in PCa rats along the hypothalamic-pituitary-testis axis. Spirulina revealed a significant reduction in the level of total and free prostatic specific antigen (PSA) to the same level as bicalutamide treatment, which was the same as the control group. Histopathological study revealed regression (75%) of the histological pattern of high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (HGPIN) for Spirulina alone, and (50%) for bicalutamide. The best effect on IL-6 decline was reached with the AgNPs/Spirulina combination as well as bicalutamide treatment compared with the PCa group. Bicalutamide treatment significantly decreased the PSA concentration relative to the PCa group and reached the normal level. Adding Spirulina to AgNPs as a combination enhanced its effect on all mentioned drawbacks associated with PCa except hormonal imbalance that needs more adjustments.

Abstract
AbstractsEgg storage duration can affect embryo mortality, hatching characteristics, hatching time, and post-hatch chick quality. In order to assess these effects, the impact of storage duration (5 days, 10 days, 15 days) and short incubation period during egg storage (SPIDES) investigated further 18, 900 eggs of broiler breeder (ROSS 308) in 3 × 2 factorial arrangement design. In the SPIDES treatment, the egg shell temperature was raised from its storage temperature (18 °C) and held at 100 °F for 3.5 h. Storage periods could significantly (P < 0.05) influence on embryo mortality (total, early, middle, and late), hatchability of both the total eggs and fertile eggs. The SPIDES treatment had a significant (P < 0.05) impact on a lower embryonic death rate and improved egg hatchability. Eggs stored for 5 days and eggs treated with SPIDES significantly (P < 0.001) shorten hatching time, batch’s 90% hatching time (T 90% H), mean hatching time (MHT), maximal hatching period (MHP), and hatching window (HW). Chick quality was also determined, whereas storing eggs for 5 days and using the SPIDES treatment resulted in enhanced (P < 0.001) chick weight relative to egg weight (CW/EW), activity (AC), and chick quality score (CQS). The residual yolk sac weight (RYSW), unhealed navel (UHN %), and dirty feather (DF%) recorded the lowest (P < 0.001) values compared to long storage periods and control group. Finally, stored for 5 days treated by SPIDES positively affected the hatchability characteristics, the shortening hatching time, and the quality of chicks. Regarding the results, it was confirmed that using the SPIDES treatment to prevent the harmful effects of broiler eggs being stored for an extended period of time is a viable option.

Abstract
This study aimed to develop and evaluate live and inactivated vaccines to Aeromonas veronii pathogenicity in Nile tilapia. Therefore, five well-identified Aeromonas veronii isolates, including A (HY1), A (HY2), A (HY3), A (HY4), and A (HY6) isolated from diseased Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), were used for vaccine preparation. Virulence genes detected by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and lethal dose determination were conducted. Nile tilapia, each with a body weight of 25 ± 0.5 g were divided into six experimental groups (each of 20): T1 group (control), fish were injected with saline as a negative control, T2 group (formalin-killed vaccine) for the A (HY2) strain, T3 group ( formalized killed vaccine) for the A (HY4), T4 group (autoclaved vaccine) for the A (HY2), T5 group (autoclaved vaccine) for A (HY4), and T6 (live vaccine) for A (HY1), triplicate. At the end of the immunization period, all groups were challenged by A. veronii, A (HY2). Blood samples were drawn 21 days post-immunization and 3 days after the challenge test for antibody titer assay. The results showed that the pathogenicity of strains A (HY2) and A (HY4) was the strongest, as the lethality rates (LR) were 100% and 90%, respectively, whereas the pathogenicity was moderate for strains A (HY3) and A (HY6) (LR 60% for each). A (AY1) was the weakest strain as no dead fish was found for this strain. The presence of alt, act, aerolysin, lipase, and fla genes as the main cause of the pathogenesis. The best protective efficacy was obtained from the live vaccine, A (HY1) with a protective rate of about 94.12% (relative percentage of survival, RPS), compared to autoclaved killed vaccines and formalin-killed vaccines. Based on immunoglobulin estimation (IgM) and RPS%, our data concluded that A (HY1) live vaccine had the best vaccine prophylactic effect against the highly pathogenic strain A(HY2).

Abstract
PURPOSE Osteomyelitis is a challenge in diagnosis and treatment. 18F-FDG PET-CT provides a non-invasive tool for diagnosing and localizing osteomyelitis with a sensitivity reaching 94% and specificity reaching 100%. We aimed to assess the agreement in identifying the geographic area of infected bone and planned resection on plain X-ray versus 18F-FDG PET-CT. METHODS Clinical photos and X-rays of ten osteomyelitis patients were shown to ten consultant surgeons; they were asked to draw the area of infection and extent of planned surgical debridement; data will be compared to 18F-FDG PET-CT results. RESULTS We tested the agreement between the surgeons in every parameter. Regarding height, there was poor agreement between surgeons. Regarding perimeter, the ten surgeons showed low-moderate agreement. The ten surgeons showed a low-moderate agreement for circularity. Results document the variability of assessment and judgement based on plain X-rays. In comparison to PET-CT, All parameters were significantly different in favour of 18F-FDG PET-CT over X-ray (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION 18F FDG PET-CT provides a three-dimensional tool for localizing the exact location of the infected bone and differentiating it from the normal bone. Thus, it could be beneficial in precise pre-operative planning and surgical debridement of chronic osteomyelitis.

Abstract
Purpose Orthopaedic-related wounds are critical situations calling for care to avoid deep infections and its consequences. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of using honey for care of orthopaedic-related wounds with limited resources. Patients and methods This prospective study included 50 cases with an average age of 38.18 (range 17–63) years with 38 males and 12 females. The most frequent wound location was the leg (41 patients; 82%), then the foot (six patients; 12%), and the ankle in three patients (6%). The aetiologies were open fractures (34 cases; 68%), infected tibial non-unions (nine cases; 18%), and post-operative infections (seven cases; 14%). Exposed tendon was present in three cases. Bone exposure was present in two cases. Deep infection was present in 29 cases (58%). Besides treating the primary cause, a ribbon of gauze soaked with honey was applied to the wounds after thorough saline washing. Results Wound sizes were variable. All cases showed improvement in all parameters with complete wound healing and full coverage of bone and tendons. Recurrence of deep infection occurred in three cases and treated by debridement. One case needed sequestrectomy of a small exposed tibial cortical fragment. Exposed tendon cases showed superficial necrosis which was treated by simple debridement. Initial mild itching occurred in five patients with spontaneous resolution. Conclusion With treating the underlying aetiology and optimising the patient’s general condition, honey was an effective, simple, and affordable method of wound care in different orthopaedic conditions even with exposed bone or tendons.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is an autoimmune disorder that causes vasculopathy and scarring, most commonly in the lungs and skin, but it can also affect other organs. Endothelial vinculin plays a critical role in angiogenesis regulation. Therefore, vinculin overexpression in SSc may give rise to anti-vinculin antibodies, which may contribute to the development of SSc vasculopathy. The current research aims to (1) determine whether anti-vinculin autoantibodies play a significant role in the diagnosis of SSc and (2) compare anti-vinculin serum levels between two scleroderma patient populations, namely, pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH)-predominant and interstitial pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)-predominant groups. METHODS This research included 140 participants categorized into three groups: group I-patients with PAH-predominant; group II-patients with ILD-predominant; group III-the control group. Anti-vinculin antibodies were detected in serum samples collected from all participants using ELISA. All subjects underwent high-resolution computed tomography (CT), diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide, and pulmonary function tests. RESULTS Patients in group I (PAH-predominant group, N = 35) were 41.3 [± 11.4] years old, with 80% being women. Patients in group II (ILD-predominant group, N = 35) were 41.0 [± 11.5] years old. The SSc group showed significantly higher anti-vinculin antibody levels than the control group (P < 0.001). The PAH-predominant group demonstrated significantly higher anti-vinculin antibody levels and anti-vinculin positivity than the ILD-predominant group. CONCLUSION Anti-vinculin antibodies in the blood appear to be diagnostic biomarkers for scleroderma. Furthermore, they shed light on some novel perspectives on the pathophysiology of specific lung fibrotic changes. Key Points • This study included two groups of systemic sclerosis patients (PAH-predominant group, ILD-predominant group) as well as a control group to investigate the significance of anti-vinculin antibodies in such cases. • Our results have demonstrated that anti-vinculin antibodies can play a significant role in diagnosing and monitoring systemic sclerosis disease.
