Abstract
Objective: To investigate appropriate protocol of treatment modulation for seasonal allergic rhinitis (AR) patients, in order to promote the implementation of personalized medicine. Methods: Total of 124 AR patients allergic to cypress pollens were recruited from January to February 2020 in Department of Allergy in Peking Union Medical College Hospital, 43 males and 81 females with an average age of (41±9) years. The patients were divided into two groups with block randomization method. In the first group, treatment was modulated every two days according to the average daily rhinoconjunctivitis symptom score of the last two days (short-term symptom-score group); while in the second group, therapy regimen was adjusted every week based on the Allergic Rhinitis Control Test (ARCT) score of the last week (long-term ARCT group). The treatment level was up-regulated when the cypress pollen count increased and stayed at a high level (step-up pharmacotherapy stage); and treatment was down-regulated while the pollen count decreased (step-down pharmacotherapy stage). Daily symptom scores, medicine scores, and ARCT scores of the two groups were recorded and compared. Results: During the whole cypress pollen season, the daily rhinoconjunctivitis symptom score of short-term symptom-score group was significantly lower than that in long-term ARCT group(2.4±1.0 vs 2.7±1.0, P<0.01), and the difference between the two groups was more pronounced in the step-up pharmacotherapy stage than that in the step-down pharmacotherapy stage, while there was no statistical difference between the daily medicine scores of the two groups (P>0.05). During the pollen rising period, the ARCT score of short-term symptom-score group was significantly better than that of long-term ARCT group (21(19, 22) vs 20 (17, 21), P=0.049); while in the pollen peak period and decreasing period, the ARCT scores of the two groups showed no statistical difference (P>0.05). The proportion of incompliance with doctor's advice was higher in long-term ARCT group compared to that in short-term symptom-score group (30.1% vs 6.7%, P<0.001). Conclusion: The protocol of treatment modulation for seasonal AR patients allergic to pollens should be developed flexibly according to the variation trend of pollen allergen exposure, so as to implement the idea of personalized medicine.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the expression of CXC chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10) in glioma and its clinical significance through bioinformatics. Methods: The expression level of CXCL10 in glioma, and its prognostic significance, gene ontology (GO) function annotation, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome (KEGG) pathway enrichment and the correlation of tumor cell purity were analyzed in TCGA, CGGA, MetaScape, TIMER databases. In addition, 34 clinical glioma tissues were collected for Western Blot and immunohistochemistry to further verify the correlation between CXCL10 and glioma. Results: CGGA and TCGA database analysis showed that with the increase of WHO grade, the expression of CXCL10 in gliomas increased (P<0.01). The overall survival rate of patients with high CXCL10 expression was significantly lower than that of patients with low expression (χ2 =148.1,P<0.05). Among patients with grade Ⅳ glioblastoma who received radiotherapy or chemotherapy, the patients with low CXCL10 expression were associated with good survival (χ2 =6.714,P<0.05;χ2 =5.618,P<0.05). Moreover, GO and KEGG analysis showed that genes co-expressed with CXCL10 were mainly enriched in the biological processes such as cytokine-mediated signaling pathways, regulating adaptive immune responses and inflammatory responses. Furthermore, TIMER database analysis showed that CXCL10 was negatively correlated with the purity of glioma cells (LGG: r=-0.129;GBM: r=-0.165;P<0.05). Similarly, clinical sample analysis also showed that the expression level of CXCL10 increased in glioma, and it increased with the grade of glioma (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The expression of CXCL10 is up-regulated in glioma as well as it increased with the malignant degree of glioma. At the same time, the high expression of CXCL10 in glioma is closely related to the poor prognosis of patients.

Abstract
Ultrafast control of material physical properties represents a rapidly developing field in condensed matter physics. Yet, accessing the long-lived photoinduced electronic states is still in its early stages, especially with respect to an insulator to metal phase transition. Here, by combining transport measurement with ultrashort photoexcitation and coherent phonon spectroscopy, we report on photoinduced multistage phase transitions in Ta2NiSe5. Upon excitation by weak pulse intensity, the system is triggered to a short-lived state accompanied by a structural change. Further increasing the excitation intensity beyond a threshold, a photoinduced steady new state is achieved where the resistivity drops by more than four orders at temperature 50 K. This new state is thermally stable up to at least 350 K and exhibits a lattice structure different from any of the thermally accessible equilibrium states. Transmission electron microscopy reveals an in-chain Ta atom displacement in the photoinduced new structure phase. We also found that nano-sheet samples with the thickness less than the optical penetration depth are required for attaining a complete transition.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the reliability and accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on describing the structure of triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) in 7 cadavers with autopsy being the golden standard. Methods: In total, 7 healthy cadavers were included (4 males, 3 females, the average age was 51 years). All cadavers were preserved under -30 ℃ condition and thawed out before the experiment. The autopsy was performed by the same group of hand surgeons immediately after the MRI examination (3.0 tesla, wrist coil,"superman"position). The integrity of triangular fibrocartilage (TFC), proximal component/distal component of distal radioulnar ligament (DRUL), ulnocarpal ligament (UCL) was evaluated, and the thickness of central portion of TFC was measured during the autopsy. The sensitivity, specificity, positive/negative predictive value (PPV/NPV) and positive/negative likelihood ratio (PLR/NLR) of MRI were calculated. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was calculated between the thickness of central portion of TFC on MRI and autopsy results. Results: With autopsy being the golden standard, the ICC of MRI= 0.838 (95%CI: 0.33-0.97, P<0.01). In evaluating the condition of central portion of TFC by MRI, sensitivity= 1, specificity=1, PLR=+∞, NLR=0. In evaluating the condition of proximal component/distal component of DRUL by MRI, sensitivity=1, specificity=0.83, PLR=6, NLR=0. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, PLR, NLR of integrity of UCL in MRI was 0.33, 0.75, 0.50, 0.75, 1.33, 0.89, respectively. Conclusion: The 3.0T MRI can be a useful tool in diagnosis of the injury of TFC and proximal/distal component of DRUL, as it has a good description of TFCC's subtle structure.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the current status of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in automobile assembly workers, as well as the distribution of WMSDs at multiple sites and related influencing factors. Methods: From March to July 2019, cluster sampling was performed to select 663 male automobile assembly workers as respondents, and the musculoskeletal injury questionnaire was used to investigate their general status and working condition. A multinomial logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors for WMSDs at multiple sites. Results: The detection rate of WMSDs within the past 7 days was 37.9% (251/663) among the automobile assembly workers, and the detection rate of WMSDs within the past 1 year was 51.9% (344/663) . Of all workers, 13.6% (90/663) had WMSDs involving only 1 site, while 38.3% (254/663) had WMSDs involving 2 or more sites. The multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that frequent turns during work was a risk factor for WMSDs involving 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9 sites (odds ratio [OR]=1.65, 2.47, and 3.65, respectively) . Repeated action of lower extremities and ankles was a risk factor for WMSDs involving 4-6 and 7-9 sites (OR=2.15 and 2.98, respectively) . Working in an uncomfortable position was a risk factor for WMSDs involving 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9 sites (OR=1.95, 2.67, and 3.04, respectively) . Prolonged standing during work was a risk factor for WMSDs involving 1-3 and 4-6 sites (OR= 1.87 and 1.79, respectively) . Working overtime was a risk factor for WMSDs involving 7-9 sites (OR=5.48) . Adequate time for rest was a protective factor against WMSDs involving 1-3 and 4-6 sites (OR=0.50 and 0.31, respectively) . Conclusion: There is a high detection rate of WMSDs in automobile assembly workers, and WMSDs at multiple sites are more common than WMSDs at a single site. Poor position and organizational management factors are risk factors for occupational WMSDs at multiple sites.

Abstract
Objective: To study the differences of different signal processing method of surface electromyography (sEMG) in judging muscle fatigue. Methods: From July to October 2019, based on the model of simulated manual lifting operation, the original sEMG signals from 13 volunteers of brachial radial muscle, brachial two-headed muscle, triangle muscle, left vertical spine muscle, right vertical spine muscle and lateral femoral muscle were collected in the operation activities. Three different electromyography signal processing methods (all signal from motion beginning to the end, peak signal and ehe specified motion signal) were used to analyze the original data in time domain (RMS) and frequency domain (MDF) , the data difference between different electromyography signal processing methods was analyzed by using Wilcoxon rank and sum test and nonlinear curve fitting method. Results: The age of the subjects of the simulated lifting operation was (24.31±2.02) years old, height (173.78±4.84) cm, weight (66.28±5.58) kg, body mass index (BMI) 21.94±1.58. The thickness of triceps skinfold was (14.08±4.86) mm, and the thickness of the skin fold under the scapula was (15.54±3.59) mm. After processing the original signal data by using different sEMG signal interception methods, the normality test, Levene's test, and the Wilcoxon test showed that, except for the MDF index of the brachial two-headed muscle, the differences in the RMS and MDF signals of the other muscles were statistically significant (P<0.016) . The all signal processing method dealed with data distribution dispersion better than other methods, and the rate of change of RMS signal slope was higher than other methods. Non-linear regression results showed that all signal processing method had low volatility in processing data, and the regression equation had a high degree of fit. Conclusion: Different electromyography signal processing methods have differences. The all signal processing method which intercepts from starting point to the end point of action cycle has the least data volatility, and electromyography time domain and frequency domain index with the highest sensitivity of time, which is suitable for the application of surface electromyography to judge muscle fatigue in dynamic and complex operations.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Mitochondrial deoxyribonucleic acid (mtDNA) 8344 A>G (m.8344A>G) mutation is the common mutation associated with mitochondrial myoclonus epilepsy with ragged-red fibers (MERRF) syndrome. Herein we report a rare case with mitochondrial encephalopathy, lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes/MERRF/Leigh (MELAS/MERRF/Leigh) overlap syndrome caused by m.8344A>G mutation. METHODS The clinical and imaging data of the patient were collected and an open muscle biopsy was carried out. We further employed molecular genetic analyses to detect mtDNA mutation in the proband and his mother. And then a clinical and neuroimaging follow-up was performed. RESULTS This patient was a 25-year-old male, who developed exercise intolerance since the age of 6. At age 10, he suffered from acute episodes of hemianopia, and cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed occipital stroke-like lesions and cranial magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) revealed a lactate peak corresponding to the lesion. After that the patient presented slowly progressive psychomotor decline. He had myoclonic seizures and cerebellar ataxia since the age of 12. At age 21, he was admitted to our hospital because of confusion and cranial MRI revealed symmetrical lesions in bilateral posterior putamen, thalami and midbrain. Then repeated MRI showed progression of original lesions and new frontal multiple stroke-like lesions. Symptomatic and rehabilitation treatment relieved his condition. Follow-up cranial MRI at age 24 showed the lesions in basal ganglia and thalami diminished, and the midbrain lesions even completely vanished. Muscle pathology indicated the presence of numerous scattered ragged-red fibers (RRF), suggestive of a mitochondrial disorder. Polymerase chain reaction-restricted fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) detected the m.8344A>G mutation of the MT-TK gene encoding mitochondrial transfer RNA for lysine in the patient's blood. Next generation sequencing (NGS) of the whole mitochondrial genome identified that the proportion of m.8344A>G was 90%, and no other mtDNA mutation was detected. Sanger sequencing further identified this mutation both in the proband and his mother's blood, although the mutation load was much lower in his mother's blood with approximately 10% heteroplasmy. CONCLUSION The present study is the first to describe a patient with m.8344A>G mutation in association with the MELAS/MERRF/Leigh overlap syndrome, which expands the phenotypic spectrum of the m.8344A>G mutation.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the changes of salivary composition, flow and dry mouth in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma after parotid sparing modulated radiation therapy. METHODS One hundred and one patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma who received radiotherapy in Qingyang People's Hospital from May 2016 to November 2018 were selected and divided into intensity modulated radiation group(n=54) and conventional radiation group(n=47) according to different treatment methods. The clinicopathological parameters, parotid uptake index, salivary composition, dry mouth, oropharyngeal symptoms and grading were compared between the two groups. The data were analyzed with SPSS 20.0 software package. RESULTS The tumor site, TNM stage and differentiation had no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). The concentration of total protein, secretory IgA, calcium and phosphorus in saliva of patients in intensity modulated radiation therapy group were significantly higher than those in conventional radiation group(P<0.05). The parotid uptake index, secretion index and salivary flow velocity were significantly decreased in both groups(P<0.05), and were significantly lower in the conventional radiation group than in the intensity modulated radiation group(P<0.05). Dry mouth condition in intensity modulated radiation group was significantly better than that in conventional radiation group(P<0.05). After treatment, the ratio of pharyngalgia and dysphagia patients in the intensity modulated radiation group was significantly lower than that in the conventional radiation group(P<0.05). The degree of oropharyngeal grading in the intensity modulated radiation therapy group was significantly better than that in the conventional radiation group(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The application of parotid sparing retention modulated radiation therapy has little effect on salivary composition, flow rate and dry mouth, and has obvious protective effect on parotid secretion.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of modified double negative-pressure wound therapy combined with debridement and tension-reduced suture in treatment of stage 4 pressure sores and infection in sacrococcygeal region and its surrounding area. Methods: From January 2015 to June 2019, 20 patients with stage 4 pressure sores and infection in sacrococcygeal region and its surrounding area were admitted to Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology of Linyi People's Hospital. Among them, there were 11 males and 9 females, aged 48 to 88 years. The wounds of 13 patients were located in the sacrococcygeal region, and 8 of them had exposed sacrococcyx. The wounds of 4 patients were located in the greater trochanter area of femur, and the wounds of 3 patients were located in the ischial tuberosity area. All the patients had fever in different degree, bacterial infection, hypoproteinemia, and electrolyte imbalance, etc. at admission. After thorough debridement and dressing change, routine negative-pressure wound therapy with negative pressure value of -16.6 kPa was performed according to the scope of lesions in period Ⅰ. When granulation tissue was fresh with less exudate and without residual necrotic tissue, modified double negative-pressure wound therapy in combination with debridement and tension-reduced suture was performed immediately in period Ⅱ. Modified double negative-pressure wound therapy were persistently performed through negative pressure drainage tube inserted into deep part of wounds and negative pressure drainage tube on surface at the same time, with superficial negative pressure value of -19.9 kPa. Meanwhile, systemic anti-infection and nutritional supports were given. The wounds were monitored for the grade of wound healing and whether skin necrosis, split, or fluid accumulation develop at the suture site. The patients were followed up for 1 to 6 months after discharge to monitor wound healing. Length of hospital stay, infection condition before and after the debridement and tension-reduced suture, and complications during treatment were recorded. Results: All wounds achieved first grade healing, with the skin at the suture site healed without split, fluid accumulation, or necrosis. The patients were followed up for 1 to 6 months after discharge, with good shape of surgical incision, little pigmentation on the skin, no hypertrophic scar or contracture, and no recurrence of pressure sores. Length of hospital stay of patients was 24 to 33 d, with an average of 28.5 d. Before debridement and tension-reduced suture, 2 cases were infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 1 case was infected with Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, and 1 case was infected with Proteus mirabilis. The results of bacterial culture were all negative after debridement and tension-reduced suture. During the treatment, all patients were not complicated with bone or joint infection, necrotizing fasciitis, septicemia, etc. Conclusions: Modified double negative-pressure wound therapy combined with debridement and tension-reduced suture for treatment of patients with stage 4 pressure sores and infection in sacrococcygeal region and its surrounding area is easy to operate with minimal injury, easy for patients to accept with a very high level of satisfaction, and is suitable to popularize and applicate for primary hospitals.

Abstract
Microglial activation and phenotypic shift play vital roles in many neurological diseases. Runt-related transcription factor-1 (Runx1), which is localized on microglia, inhibits amoeboid microglial proliferation. Preliminary data have indicated that the interaction of Runx1 with the Notch1 pathway affects the hemogenic endothelial cell shift. However, little is known about the effect of Runx1 and the Notch1 signaling pathway on the phenotypic shift of microglia during neuroinflammation, especially in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). A mouse model of TLE induced by pilocarpine and the murine microglia cell line BV-2 were used in this study. The proportion of microglia was analyzed using flow cytometry. Western blot (WB) analysis and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction were used to analyze protein and gene transcript levels, respectively. Immunohistochemistry was used to show the distribution of Runx1. In the present study, we first found that in a male mouse model of TLE induced by pilocarpine, flow cytometry revealed a time-dependent M2-to-M1 microglial transition after status epilepticus. The dynamic expression patterns of Runx1 and the downstream Notch1/Jagged1/Hes5 signaling pathway molecules in the epileptic hippocampus were determined. Next, Runx1 knockdown by small interfering RNA in BV-2 cells strongly promoted an M2-to-M1 microglial phenotype shift and inhibited Notch1/Jagged1/Hes5 pathway expression. In conclusion, Runx1 may play a critical role in the M2-to-M1 microglial phenotype shift via the Notch1 signaling pathway during epileptogenesis in a TLE mouse model and in BV-2 cells.

Abstract
Objectives: To summarize the clinical and genetic characteristics of the patients with isolated methylmalonic acidemia and investigate the strategies for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Methods: Three hundred and fourteen patients (180 males, 134 females) with isolated methylmalonic acidemia were ascertained from 26 provinces or cities across the mainland of China during January 1998 to March 2020. Genetic analysis was performed by Sanger sequencing, gene panel sequencing, whole exome sequencing, multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification or quantitative PCR. According to the age of onset, the patients were divided to early-onset group (≤12 months of age) and the late-onset group (>12 months of age). They were treated by cobalamin, L-carnitine and (or) special diet and symptomatic treatment. Statistical analysis was done using Chi-square test. Results: Fifty-eight of 314 (18.5%) patients were detected by Newborn screening using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. Five cases (1.6%) had a postmortem diagnosis. Two hundred and fifty-one patients (79.9%) were clinically diagnosed with an age of onset ranged from 3 hours after birth to 18 years. One hundred and fifty-nine patients (71.0%) belonged to early-onset groups, 65 patients (29.0%) belonged to the late-onset group. The most common symptoms were metabolic crises, psychomotor retardation, epilepsy, anemia and multiple organ damage. Metabolic acidosis and anemia were more common in early-onset patients than that in late-onset patients (20.8%(33/159) vs. 9.2% (6/65), 34.6% (55/159) vs. 16.9% (11/165), χ(2)=4.261, 6.930, P=0.039, 0.008). Genetic tests were performed for 236 patients (75.2%), 96.2%(227/236) had molecular confirmation. One hundred and twenty-seven variants were identified in seven genes (MMUT, MMAA, MMAB, MMADHC, SUCLG1, SUCLA2, and MCEE), of which 49 were novel. The mut type, caused by the deficiency of methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, was the most common (n=211, 93%) cause of this condition. c.729_730insTT, c.1106G>A and c.914T>C were the three most frequent mutations in MMUT gene. The frequency of c.914T>C in early-onset patients was significantly higher than that in late-onset patients (8.3% (18/216) vs. 1.6% (1/64), χ(2)=3.859, P=0.037). Metabolic crisis was more frequent in mut type than the other types (72.6% (114/157) vs. 3/13, χ(2)=13.729, P=0.001),developmental delay and hypotonia were less frequent in mut type (38.2% (60/157) vs. 9/13, 25.5% (40/157) vs. 8/13, χ(2)=4.789, 7.705, P=0.030, 0.006). Of the 58 patients identified by newborn screening, 44 patients (75.9%) who were treated from asymptomatic phase developed normally whereas 14 patients (24.1%) who received treatment after developing symptoms exhibited varying degrees of psychomotor retardation. Conclusions: The characteristics of phenotypes and genotypes among Chinese patients with isolated methylmalonic acidemia were analyzed. Expanded the mutation spectrum of the associated genes. Because of the complex clinical manifestations and severe early onset of isolated methylmalonic acidemia, Newborn screening is crucial for early diagnosis and improvement of prognosis. MMUT gene is recommended for carrier screening as an effort to move the test earlier as a part of the primary prevention of birth defects.

Abstract
We report the observation of new properties of primary cosmic rays, neon (Ne), magnesium (Mg), and silicon (Si), measured in the rigidity range 2.15 GV to 3.0 TV with 1.8×10^{6} Ne, 2.2×10^{6} Mg, and 1.6×10^{6} Si nuclei collected by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment on the International Space Station. The Ne and Mg spectra have identical rigidity dependence above 3.65 GV. The three spectra have identical rigidity dependence above 86.5 GV, deviate from a single power law above 200 GV, and harden in an identical way. Unexpectedly, above 86.5 GV the rigidity dependence of primary cosmic rays Ne, Mg, and Si spectra is different from the rigidity dependence of primary cosmic rays He, C, and O. This shows that the Ne, Mg, and Si and He, C, and O are two different classes of primary cosmic rays.

Abstract
Interferon regulatory factors (IRFs) are a family of transcription factors essential to the control of antiviral immune response, cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. IRF10 was originally found in chicken, which was induced by the v-Rel oncoprotein in lymphoid cell lines and involved in the upregulation of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I and guanylate-binding protein. In fish, IRF10 plays negative roles in regulation of the interferon (IFN) response. Here, we identified a splice variant of IRF10, named as EcIRF10-SF in orange spotted grouper, which shares the first three exons with the long form (EcIRF10-LF) and retains part of intron 3, creating a premature termination codon. Furthermore, we observed that the EcIRF10-SF exhibits similar expression pattern compared to its native counterparts. Functional studies demonstrate that the two EcIRF10 isoforms repress DrIFNϕ1 and DrIFNϕ3 promoter activity and negatively regulate fish antiviral gene expression. Subcellular localization analysis shows that the amino acids from 57 to 86 within DBD are required for IRF10 nuclear import. Overall, our description of transcript diversification of IRF10 in the grouper provides a coherent framework to further dissect its roles in immune response.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Postoperative peritoneal adhesion (PPA), characterized by abdominal pain, female infertility, and even bowel obstruction after surgery, has always been a major concern. The occurrence and formation of adhesion are from complex biological processes. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the basis of microarray data profile, followed by peritoneal adhesion formation, are largely unknown.
AIM To reveal the underlying pathogenesis of PPA at the molecular level.
METHODS The gene expression profile was retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus database for our analysis. We identified a panel of key genes and related pathways involved in adhesion formation using bioinformatics analysis methods. We performed quantitative PCR and western blotting in vivo to validate the results preliminarily.
RESULTS In total, 446 expressed genes were altered in peritoneal adhesion. We found that several hub genes (e.g., tumor necrosis factor, interleukin 1 beta, interleukin 6, C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 1, C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 2) were marked as significant biomarkers. Functional analysis suggested that these genes were enriched in the Toll-like receptor signaling pathway. According to the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway and published studies, TLR4, myeloid differentiation primary response protein 88 (MyD88), and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) played essential roles in Toll-like signaling transduction. Here, we obtained a regulatory evidence chain of TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB/inflammatory cytokines/peritoneal adhesion involved in the pathogenesis of postoperative adhesion. The results of the microarray analysis were verified by the animal experiments. These findings may extend our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of PPA.
CONCLUSION The regulatory evidence chain of TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB/inflammatory cytokines/peritoneal adhesion may play key roles in the pathogenesis of PPA. Future studies are required to validate our findings.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the diagnostic value of skeletal muscle biopsy in patients with rhabdomyolysis. Methods: Clinical and pathological data of 26 patients with rhabdomyolysis from January 2002 to December 2018 undergoing muscle biopsy were collected. Results: Eighteen males and 8 females were finally recruited with median age of 6-73 (37.3±19.6) years. The average time from onset to biopsy was 44 days (median course was 30 days). All patients had acute manifestations with muscle pain and/or weakness. Serum creatine kinase was between 1 648-92 660 U/L. Muscle biopsies showed nonspecific changes in 12 cases (a few with type 2 muscle fiber atrophy, slight deposition of lipid droplets), 10 cases with necrotizing myopathy (muscle fiber necrosis and regeneration). Toxic neurogenic damages were seen in 2 cases (type 1 and type 2 angular atrophic muscle fibers with group change), lipid storage disease in 1 case (lipid droplets deposit significantly) and idiopathic inflammatory myopathy in 1 case (muscle fiber necrosis and regeneration, with lymphocyte infiltration). The etiology of non-specific pathological changes included short-term strenuous exercise in 6 patients, poisoning in two, chronic kidney disease in one, viral infection in one, hypothyroidism in one and unknown reason in one. As to patients with necrotizing myopathy, seven were poisoning or drug-related, one with hyperthyroidism, two with unknown reason. Conclusions: Among the numerous causes of rhabdomyolysis, exercise usually links nonspecific skeletal muscle changes and poisoning or drug-related disorders are commonly associated with necrotic myopathy. Rhabdomyolysis induced by primary myopathy is rare.

Abstract
Retinoic acid-inducible gene-I (RIG-I) is a cytoplasmic viral RNA sensor that triggers the production of type I interferons (IFNs) and proinflammatory cytokines during viral infection. RIG-I gene has been identified previously in Japanese eel, Anguilla japonica. In the present study, we have characterized a novel isoform of RIG-I (designated as AjRIG-Ib) and its truncated variant (AjRIG-Ibv). The AjRIG-Ib encodes 940 amino acids (aa) consisting of two N-terminal caspase activation and recruitment domains (CARDs), a DEX(D/H) box RNA helicase domain, and a C-terminal regulatory domain (CTD). The AjRIG-Ibv encodes a protein of 843 aa, that shares similar structural organization with AjRIG-Ib, but lacking CTD. The gene expression analyses showed that AjRIG-Ib and AjRIG-Ibv were detectable in all tissues/organs examined, and AjRIG-Ib was the predominant form. The mRNA level of AjRIG-Ibv was upregulated rapidly at 8 h after the Poly I:C injection, and the significant increase of AjRIG-Ib was observed at 16 and 24 h post-injection (hpi). Laser confocal microscopy showed that AjRIG-Ib and AjRIG-Ibv were both located in cytoplasm. In addition, the overexpression of AjRIG-Ib or AjRIG-Ibv led to the increased activity of IFN promoter in transient transfection assay. Taken together, our results indicated that AjRIG-Ib and AjRIG-Ibv may play cooperative or somewhat complementary roles in coordinating the antiviral response in fish.

Abstract
Precision measurements by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) on the International Space Station of ^{3}He and ^{4}He fluxes are presented. The measurements are based on 100 million ^{4}He nuclei in the rigidity range from 2.1 to 21 GV and 18 million ^{3}He from 1.9 to 15 GV collected from May 2011 to November 2017. We observed that the ^{3}He and ^{4}He fluxes exhibit nearly identical variations with time. The relative magnitude of the variations decreases with increasing rigidity. The rigidity dependence of the ^{3}He/^{4}He flux ratio is measured for the first time. Below 4 GV, the ^{3}He/^{4}He flux ratio was found to have a significant long-term time dependence. Above 4 GV, the ^{3}He/^{4}He flux ratio was found to be time independent, and its rigidity dependence is well described by a single power law ∝R^{Δ} with Δ=-0.294±0.004. Unexpectedly, this value is in agreement with the B/O and B/C spectral indices at high energies.

Abstract
Periodontal disease (PD) is an infection-driven chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the inflammation of tooth-supporting tissues and the destruction of the associated alveolar bone. The immune response of the host to periodontal pathogens infection determines the course and progress of the disease. The effects of secreting cytokines interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and interleukin-17 (IL-17) of T helper 1 cells (Th1) and T helper 17 cells (Th17) on the development of periodontitis has attracted much attention. IFN-γ is a potential immune-modulatory cytokine and can mediate cellular immune responses by activating various immune cells of the host such as macrophages. As one of the most potential bone physiological regulation mediators, IL-17 is closely related with alveolar bone resorption in periodontitis. This review elaborated the relationship between IFN-γ and IL-17 in the progress of periodontitis, providing new explanations into the development of periodontitis and alveolar bone destruction caused by the host immune response.
