Abstract
Environmental pollutants like chlorophenol chemicals and their derivatives are commonplace. These compounds serve as building blocks in the production of medicines, biocides, dyes, and agricultural chemicals. Chlorophenols enter the environment through several different pathways, including the breakdown of complex chlorinated hydrocarbons, industrial waste, herbicides, and insecticides. Chlorophenols are destroyed thermally and chemically, creating dangerous chemicals that pose a threat to public health. Water in particular is affected, and thorough monitoring is required to find this source of pollution because it can pose a major hazard to both human and environmental health. For the detection of chlorophenols, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been incorporated into a variety of electrochemical sensing systems and assay formats. Due to their long-term chemical and physical stability as well as their simple and affordable synthesis process, MIPs have become intriguing synthetic alternatives over the past few decades. In this review, we concentrate on the commercial potential of the MIP technology. Additionally, we want to outline the most recent advancements in their incorporation into electrochemical sensors with a high commercial potential for detecting chlorophenols.

Abstract
Because of the serious risks they pose to the environment and public health, chlorophenols (CPs), a typical class of the most persistent organic pollutants, have drawn increasing attention. Monitoring CPs effectively has become a pressing and difficult problem. The rapidly increasing need for onsite and real-time CP detection has led to the consideration of electrochemical sensing as a workable solution. Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-based electrochemical sensing has emerged as a promising area for environmental monitoring in response to this analytical problem. MIPs, in conjunction with miniature electrochemical transducers, provide the opportunity to detect target analytes in situ. These devices have the advantages of great chemical and physical stability, cheap production costs, good selectivity, and quick response times. Most studies suggest that these sensors use nanoparticles to improve their analytical properties, especially sensitivity. Furthermore, these sensors have successfully used real water samples without the need for time-consuming pretreatment procedures. This article provides an overview of electrochemical MIP-based sensors reported to detect CPs in water samples. To obtain the highest sensitivity, special consideration is given to the fabrication of the sensors, which includes the use of various functional monomers, sensing platforms, and materials. Several other parameters are also discussed, including the linear concentration range, limit of detection, and the types of water samples that were examined.

Abstract
A novel adsorbent consisting of a composition of carbon dots and CuCr-layered double hydroxides intercalated with l-histidine (C-dots@His/LDHs) was introduced. This adsorbent was electrochemically deposited on the inner surface of a capillary copper tube. It was used as an adsorbent for in-tube solid-phase microextraction of chlorophenols (CPs). Separation and measurement of CPs were done by high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detector. The main parameters which had the most impact on the extraction efficiency and time such as extraction time and flow rate, desorption time and flow rate, ionic strength (salt concentration) and pH were optimized. Calibration curves (0.5-1000 μg L-1) were plotted in real sample (tap water) under optimal conditions which coefficients of determination better than 0.9893 and relative recoveries in the range of 88-120 % were obtained. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) and limits of quantification (S/N = 10) were obtained in the range of 0.1-1.0 μg L-1 and 0.3-3.0 μg L-1, respectively. The intra- and inter-assay precisions (RSD%, n = 3) were better than 5.9 and 8.8 %, respectively.

Abstract
Herein, a novel carboxyl-functionalized porous organic polymer (COOH-POP) was prepared as sorbent. Due to multiple hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions between COOH-POP and phenols, COOH-POP shows good enrichment ability and very fast adsorption rate for phenols. Then, an analytical method was developed for determination of five phenols (2-chlorophenol, bisphenol A, 2,6-dichlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol and p-tert-butylphenol) in bottled water, lemon juice, peach juice and honey samples using COOH-POP as solid phase extraction sorbent in combination with high performance liquid chromatography. Under optimal conditions, the COOH-POP based method gave the detection limits (S/N = 3) of 0.02-0.10 ng mL-1 for bottled water, 0.03-0.12 ng mL-1 for lemon juice, 0.03-0.25 ng mL-1 for peach juice and 0.7-1.5 ng g-1 for honey samples. The recoveries for spiked samples ranged from 84.0 % to 119.0 % with relative standard deviation less than 7.6 %. This study provides a new yet effective method for enrichment of phenols by designing carboxyl-functionalized porous organic polymer as sorbent.

Abstract
In this paper, the extraction of chlorophenols from water samples was carried out using high surface area boehmite nanoparticles as a sorbent. The surfactant-free process employed to make the nano-boehmite used in this work was simple, green, and efficient. The proposed approach was based on headspace solid-phase microextraction, followed by GC-ECD for the determination of analytes. In situ derivatization of analytes was performed with acetic anhydride in a basic medium. Various effective parameters, including the amount of derivatization reagent, ionic strength, desorption temperature and time, extraction temperature, equilibrium time, and extraction time were studied. Under optimal conditions, the linear dynamic range was 0.05-5.0 μg L-1 for 2,4-dichlorophenol and 2,6-dichlorophenol and 0.003-0.1 μg L-1 for 2,4,6-trichlorophenol. A low limit of detection (0.75 × 10-3-15 × 10-3 μg L-1), and relative standard deviations for real samples (RSDs) <10% were obtained. The precision (as intra- and inter-day RSDs) was between 1.2 and 9.8%. In comparison to commercial fibers (CAR-PDMS, 85 μm), this fiber showed a greater extraction efficiency. Various water samples were subjected to extraction by the proposed method. The recoveries ranged from 90 to 110%.

Abstract
The growing concerns about water pollution have prompted researchers to explore new materials for remediating and purifying it. In recent years, there has been a focus on polysaccharides as eco-friendly polymers that exhibit high efficiency in removing chlorophenols from waste water. This study aims to develop a trifunctional polysaccharide structure using a biodegradable matrix. The chitosan/alginate-polyethyleneimine-phenyl-phosphonamidic acid (CHIT/ALG-PEIPPAA) matrix was employed for removing chlorophenols from water. The study carefully examined the impact of various physicochemical parameters such as pH, reaction time, chlorophenols concentration, temperature, and ionic strength to determine the optimal conditions for the adsorption process. Several techniques were used to confirm the morphology, physicochemical properties, structure, and functionalization of the polymer. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images revealed a heterogeneous morphology with agglomerates of different particle sizes, ranging from a few micrometers with irregular shapes. The FTIR spectrum and zeta potential characterization indicated the presence of hydrophilic groups and a highly positive charge (around 31.4 mV) on the surface of the CHIT/ALG-PEIPPAA adsorbent. The optimal pH for chlorophenols removal was found to be approximately 4.4. The kinetic data supported the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, which accurately described the adsorption behavior of both chlorophenol molecules. The fitting of the isotherm analysis revealed that the Langmuir model provided a better representation of the adsorption process. The maximum adsorption capacities for 4-chlorophenol and 2,4-chlorophenol were approximately 118 mg.g-1 and 249 mg.g-1, respectively. The calculated thermodynamic functions confirmed an exothermic and spontaneous adsorption process for chlorophenols, with ∆H values of -6.98 kJ.mol-1 and -2.74 kJ.mol-1 for 4-chlorophenol and 2,4-chlorophenol, respectively. The regeneration process of the CHIT/ALG-PEIPPAA adsorbent showed higher efficacy in the presence of hydrochloric acid (2.0 mol.L-1), resulting in up to 91% desorption of chlorophenols. The CHIT/ALG-PEIPPAA adsorbent demonstrated good reusability after regeneration, with only a slight decrease in extraction efficiency: 34.63% for 4-chlorophenol and 79.03% for 2,4-chlorophenol, under the same optimal conditions as the initial adsorption cycle.

Abstract
Three novel N-rich hypercrosslinked porous polymers (NHCP1, NHCP2, and NHCP3) were facilely developed using Friedel-Crafts alkylation. NHCP1 with a remarkably large surface area (2066 m2 g-1) showed the best adsorption performance for chlorophenol pollutants. A sensitive and simple method was developed by using NHCP1 as a sorbent for solid-phase extraction to preconcentrate several chlorophenols in honey, water, and peach beverage samples followed by determination using a high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detector. The detection wavelength was 280 nm. Under the optimized conditions, the linear ranges were 1.67-1000 ng g-1 for honey, 0.170-100 ng mL-1 for water, and 0.330-100 ng mL-1 for peach beverage samples. The detection limits (S/N = 3) were 0.500-2.00 ng g-1, 0.0500-0.100 ng mL-1, and 0.100-0.200 ng mL-1, respectively. Recovery values were 89.3-111% with relative standard deviations <9.4%. The proposed extraction/preconcentration and quantitative analysis method provides an affordable and effective alternative for the preconcentration and determination of low levels of chlorophenols in real samples.

Abstract
Green and economical pollution management methods which reusing bio-waste as biostimulant to effectively improve the removal of target pollutants are receiving more and more attention. In this study, Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation waste solution (LPS) was used to investigate its facilitative effect and the stimulation mechanisms on the degradation of 2-chlorophenol (2-CP) by strain Acinetobacter sp. Strain ZY1 in terms of both cell physiology and transcriptomics. The degradation efficiency of 2-CP was improved from 60% to >80% under LPS treatment. The biostimulant maintained the morphology of strain, reduced the level of reactive oxygen species, and recovered the cell membrane permeability from 39% to 22%. It also significantly increased the level of electron transfer activity and extracellular polymeric substances secretion and improved the metabolic activity of the strain. The transcriptome results revealed the stimulation of LPS to promote biological processes such as bacterial proliferation, metabolism, membrane structure composition, and energy conversion. This study provided new insights and references for the reuse of fermentation waste streams in biostimulation methods.

Abstract
Conductive covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have received considerable attention and are critical in various applications such as electro-enhanced solid-phase microextraction (EE-SPME). In this work, a novel piperazine-linked copper-doped phthalocyanine metal covalent organic framework (CuPc-MCOF) was synthesized with good stability and high electrical conductivity. The synthesized CuPc-MCOF was then used as an EE-SPME coating material for extraction of five trace chlorophenols (CPs), including 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP), 2,6-dichlorophenol (2,6-DCP), 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP), 2,4,5-trichlorophenol (2,4,5-TCP) and 2,4,5,6-tetrachlorophenol (2,4,5,6-TCP), exhibiting excellent extraction performance because of various synergistic forces between CuPc-MCOF fibers and CPs. By combining EE-SPME with gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS), a sensitive method for CPs detection was established with a low limit of detection (0.8-5 ng L-1) and good reproducibility (RSD≤8.4%, n = 3). This method was then successfully applied to the analysis of trace CPs in real samples of seawater and seafood. Results showed that the developed CuPc-MCOF coating material possessed superior extraction performance and potential application in extraction of trace polar pollutants from complex samples.

Abstract
Three hydroxyl-functionalized hypercrosslinked polymers (HCP-POL, HCP-HQ and HCP-PG) were synthesized by Friedel-Crafts reaction. The HCP-HQ displayed the largest surface area and highest adsorption capacity for chlorophenols (CPs). Thus, the HCP-HQ was further modified with magnetism to obtain M-HCP-HQ. An efficient magnetic solid-phase extraction method with M-HCP-HQ as adsorbent was developed for the first time to simultaneously extract four CPs from water and honey samples before analysis by high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection. Under optimized conditions, the low detection limits (S/N = 3) were obtained to be 0.06-0.10 ng mL-1 for water and 0.80-1.75 ng g-1 for honey. The method recovery was 80.7%-119%, with relative standard deviations below 9.5%. The enrichment factors of the CPs were in the range of 57-220. The extraction mechanism could be attributed to the strong polar interaction, hydrogen bonding and π-π interactions between the M-HCP-HQ and CPs. The M-HCP-HQ based method can be served as a reliable and sensitive tool for detection CPs in water and honey samples.

Abstract
Developing effective and green methods for food analysis and separation has become an urgent issue regarding the ever-increasing concern of food quality and safety. Ionic liquids (ILs) are a new chemical medium and soft functional material developed under the framework of green chemistry and possess many unique properties, such as low melting points, low-to-negligible vapor pressures, excellent solubility, structural designability and high thermal stability. Combining ILs with extraction techniques not only takes advantage of ILs but also overcomes the disadvantages of traditional extraction methods. This subject has attracted intensive research efforts recently. Here, we present a brief review of the current research status and latest developments regarding the application of IL-assisted microextraction, including dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) and solid-phase microextraction (SPME), in food analysis and separation. The practical applications of ILs in determining toxic and harmful substances in food specimens with quite different natures are summarized and discussed. The critical function of ILs and the advantages of IL-based microextraction techniques over conventional extraction techniques are discussed in detail. Additionally, the recovery of ILs using different approaches is also presented to comply with green analytical chemistry requirements.

MEMBRANES 2022; 12:membranes12070649. Abstract
Honey is part and parcel of our daily nutrition, but in recent times it has been reported to be tainted by the presence of polar substituted phenols purported from the use of pesticides, herbicides, antimicrobial agents, etc. Honey’s viscous nature and matrix complexity often result in analytical chemists resorting to derivatization for the detection of polar analytes such as substituted phenols. This study aims to overcome the matrix effect without derivatization and offer a more sustainable solution with notable sensitivity and selectivity using dispersive membrane microextraction alongside high-performance liquid chromatography (DMME–HPLC) with sporopollenin–methylimidazolium-based mixed matrix membrane (Sp–MIM-MMM). The DMME–HPLC approach successfully determined the presence of mono- and disubstituted phenols from unspiked honey samples with concentrations ranging from 7.8 to 154.7 ng/mL. The sustainability of the proposed method was also validated using the Analytical Eco-Scale (AES) and the Analytical GREEnness Metric (AGREE) where an excellent score of 94 and the encouraging score of 0.72 were recorded, respectively.

Abstract
Chlorophenols (CPs) have been listed as priority control pollutants because of their high toxicity and wide range. An In-situ monitoring technique using diffusive gradients in thin films based on porous β-cyclodextrin polymers as binding materials (CDP-DGT), was established to monitor four typical CPs, namely, 4-Chlorophenol (4-CP), 2,4-Dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP), 2,4,5-Trichlorophenol (2,4,5-TCP), 2,4,6-Trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP) in water and soils. The performance of CDP-DGT are stable under the conditions of pH 3.5-9.3, ionic strength 0.001-0.500 mol L-1 and dissolved organic matter concentration 0-20 mol L-1. The adsorption capacities of CDP-DGT for 4-CP, 2,4-DCP, 2,4,5-TCP, 2,4,6-TCP were 57.80 μg cm-2, 98.82 μg cm-2, 95.69 μg cm-2 and 98.91 μg cm-2, respectively. The time-average weighted concentrations of four CPs determined by CDP-DGT at Sanjiangkou wharf (Yangtze river, China) were consistent with the results of grab sampling, indicating the feasibility of CDP-DGT application in actual water. In addition, the distribution of CPs in the red soil of Kunming and paddy soil of Yixing were also studied by CDP-DGT, and the desorption kinetics in the two soils were analyzed with the DIFS model. The higher the soil organic matter content is, the more CPs are distributed in the soil solid phase. CPs in both soils can be partially resupplied to soil solution from the soil solid phase and the higher the partition coefficient for labile CPs is, the stronger the supplement capacity is.

Abstract
During the latest several decades, the continuous development of the economy and industry has brought more and more serious organic pollutants to the natural environment, which have inevitably aroused severe menace to human health and the environmental system. The nano zero-valent iron (NZVI) particles and NZVI-based materials have widely applied to remove organic pollutants. This article reviews the key advancements of different methods for the synthesis of NZVI and NZVI-based materials. Different modification methods (e.g., doped NZVI, encapsulated NZVI and supported NZVI) are also introduced detailedly for overcoming the defects of NZVI such as aggregation and easy oxidation. The removal of different organic pollutants including dyes, halogenated organic compounds, nitro-organic compounds, phenolic compounds, pesticides, and antibiotics are summarized. The interaction mechanisms, including adsorption, reduction, and active oxidation of organic pollutants by NZVI/NZVI-based composites, are discussed. The dyes are mainly removed by destroying their chromogenic group according to the reduction or the Fenton-like reaction with NZVI. The removal of halogenated organic compounds (HOCs) is realized by the dehalogenation process, including reductive elimination, hydrogenolysis, and hydrogenation. As for the nitro-organic compounds, three different reduction pathways as nitro-reduction (into amino), cleavage at the carbon‑nitrogen bond or denitration of the NO2 group may take effect. The phenolic compounds can be mineralized into inorganic molecules, including CO2 and H2O, by Fenton oxidation. This review might provide the basis for future studies on developing more effective NZVI-based materials for the treatment of wastewaters contaminated by organic pollutants.

Abstract
Headspace (HS) extraction is a sample pretreatment technique for volatile and semivolatile organic compounds in a complex matrix. Recently, in-tube microextraction (ITME) coupled with CE using an acceptor plug placed in the capillary inlet was developed as a simple but powerful HS extraction method. Here, we present single bubble (SB) ITME using a bubble hanging to the capillary inlet immersed in a sample donor solution as a HS of submicroliter volume (∼200 nL). The analytes evaporated to the bubble were extracted into the acceptor phase through the capillary opening, then electrophoresis of the enriched extract was carried out. Since the bubble volume was much smaller than a conventional HS volume (∼1 mL), it was filled with the evaporated analytes rapidly and the analytes could be enriched much faster compared to conventional HS-ITME. Owing to the high surface-to-volume ratio of the SB, 5 min SB-ITME yielded the enrichment factor values similar to those of 10 min HS-ITME. When 5 min SB-ITME at room temperature was applied to a tap water sample, the enrichment factors of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP), 2,3,6-TCP, and 2,6-dichlorophenol were 53, 41, and 60, respectively, and the LOQs obtained by monitoring the absorbance at 214 nm were 5.6-8.3 ppb, much lower than 200 ppb, the World Health Organization guideline for the maximum permissible concentration of 2,4,6-TCP in drinking water.

Abstract
Porous organic polymers have gained great research interest in the field of adsorption. A benzoxazine porous organic polymer (BoxPOP) constructed from p-phenylenediamine, 1,3,5-trihydroxybenzene and paraformaldehyde was fabricated and explored as an adsorbent for solid-phase extraction (SPE) of four chlorophenols from water and honey samples. Under the optimized SPE conditions, the response linearity for the analysis of the SPE extract of the chlorophenols by high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector was observed in the range of 0.2-40.0 ng mL-1 for water samples and 5.0-400.0 ng g-1 for honey samples. The method detection limits of the analytes were 0.06-0.08 ng mL-1 for water samples and 1.5-2.0 ng g-1 for honey samples. The recoveries of the analytes from fortified water and honey samples ranged from 84.8 to 119.0% with the relative standard deviations below 8.4%. The results indicate that the prepared BoxPOP is an effective adsorbent for the chlorophenols. The established method provides an alternative approach for the determination of chlorophenols in real samples.

Abstract
A total of 90 wooden toys were collected, and six wood preservatives (chlorophenols and lindane) were analyzed by using gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry to assess the exposure risk of children to wood preservatives through oral contact with wooden toys. The detection rates of six preservatives ranged from 2.2% to 22.2%. The contents of the preservatives ranged from 0.6 µg/kg to 9.6 µg/kg. 2,4-Dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP) had higher detection rates and contents than other preservatives. Thus, their migration behaviors from toys to saliva were further investigated. In 11 positive samples, the max migration ratios of 2,4-DCP and 2,4,6-TCP ranged from 7.1% to 20.3% and from 11.1% to 24.8%, respectively. For children aged 3-36 months, the daily average 2,4-DCP exposure level associated with wooden toys ranged from 2.7 pg/(kg day) to 46.9 pg/(kg day), and the daily average 2,4,6-TCP exposure ranged from 3.6 pg/(kg day) to 69.4 pg/(kg day). The contribution to exposure provided by the saliva mobilization pathway was more than that provided by the ingestion of scraped-off toys, and the exposure level of 2,4,6-TCP was greater than that of 2,4-DCP. The max hazard quotient for 2,4-DCP was 1.9 × 10-4, and the max cancer risk for 2,4,6-TCP was 1.2 × 10-9. The above results indicated that although wood preservatives were distributed in wooden toys, exposure arising from directly mouthing these materials currently does not pose unacceptable risks to children.

Abstract
The characteristics of the Danube river alluvial sediment are of great importance in assessing the risk for transport of pollutants to drinking water sources. Characterization of the sediment column layers has shown that the alluvial sediment, sampled near the city of Novi Sad, is a mesoporous sandy material with certain differences in the properties of individual layers. In order to investigate the sorption mechanisms of four chlorinated phenols (CPs) on the alluvial deposit, static sorption experiments were performed at pH 4, 7 and 10. The results of sorption experiments, confirmed by principal components analysis sugest different mechanisms govern the sorption process at different pH conditions. This can be attributed to the molecular characteristics of CPs, geosorbent properties and to variations in the surface charge of the sorbent at different pH conditions.

Abstract
An efficient, selective, and inexpensive method for complete elimination of chlorophenols (CPs) from water has been established. The proposed procedure was based upon the use of n-tributyl phosphate (TBP)-plasticized iron(III) physically immobilized polyurethane foam (PUF) solid sorbent for complete removal of CPs from aqueous media at pH close to 0. The interaction of the complex ion [Fe(C6H5O)6]3- with protonated ether oxygen of the PUF sorbent forms ternary ion associate on/in the PUFs. The retention of 4-chlorophenol (4-C) and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP) by the TBP-treated iron(III)-immobilized PUF fitted well with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model with a rate constant (k) of 0.04 and 0.15 g (mg min)-1, respectively. The sorption of 4-CP was endothermic whereas the uptake of TCP was favorable at low temperature approving the exothermic and non-spontaneous characteristics of its uptake. The ΔS value for 4-CP reveals good affinity of the ion [Fe(C6H5O)6]3- towards the PUF sorbent.

Abstract
This paper is a summary of the latest literature on methods for assessing quality of natural bee honey. The publication briefly characterizes methods recommended by the International Honey Commission, published in 2009, as well as newer methods published in the last 10 years. Modern methods of assessing honey quality focus mainly on analyzing markers of individual varieties and classifying them into varieties, using, among others, near infrared spectroscopy techniques (NIR), potentiometric tongue, electronic nose, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), zymography, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), DNA metabarcoding, and chemometric techniques including partial least squares (PLS), principal component analysis (PCA) and artificial neural networks (ANN). At the same time, effective techniques for analyzing adulteration, sugar, and water content, hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), polyphenol content, and diastase activity are being sought. Modern techniques enable the results of honey quality testing to be obtained in a shorter time, using the principles of green chemistry, allowing, at the same time, for high precision and accuracy of determinations. These methods are constantly modified, so that the honey that is on sale is a product of high quality. Prospects for devising methods of honey quality assessment include the development of a fast and accurate alternative to the melissopalynological method as well as quick tests to detect adulteration.

Abstract
Preparing a sample for analysis is a crucial step of many analytical procedures. The goal of sample preparation is to provide a representative, homogenous sample that is free of interferences and compatible with the intended analytical method. Green approaches to sample preparation require that the consumption of hazardous organic solvents and energy be minimized or even eliminated in the analytical process. While no sample preparation is clearly the most environmentally friendly approach, complete elimination of this step is not always practical. In such cases, the extraction techniques which use low amounts of solvents or no solvents are considered ideal alternatives. This paper presents an overview of green extraction procedures and sample preparation methodologies, briefly introduces their theoretical principles, and describes the recent developments in food, pharmaceutical, environmental and bioanalytical chemistry applications.

Abstract
A layered porous organic framework (L-POF) with high surface area and porous volume was used as a novel adsorbent for adsorption of chlorophenols (CPs). The L-POF showed much higher adsorption capacity for four CPs (2-CP, 3-CP, 2,3-CP, 2,4-CP) compared with corresponding amorphous POF and some commercial adsorbents. Then, an L-POF-based solid-phase extraction method combined with high-performance liquid chromatography for analyzing CPs at the wavelength of 280 nm in water and honey samples was established. Under the optimum conditions, four CPs exhibited good linearity in the range 0.10-80.0 ng mL-1 for water and 2-400 ng g-1 for honey samples with determination coefficient r2 > 0.996. The method has low limits of detection of 0.03-0.10 ng mL-1 for water and 0.5-1.0 ng g-1 for honey samples. The method presented satisfactory precision and accuracy with relative standard deviations ≤ 7.8% and recoveries of 80-115%. High enrichment factors of 123-190 for water and 63-97 for honey were obtained. The validated method was successfully used to determine CPs in water and honey samples. The L-POF also displayed prominent adsorption performance for many other dyes and organic contaminants. This suggests that it can be an ideal candidate as adsorbent for wide application in separation and analysis. Graphical Abstract.

Abstract
Quantum dots (QDs) are semiconducting inorganic nanoparticles, tiny molecules of 2-10 nm sizes to strength the quantum confinements of electrons. The QDs are good enough to emit light onto electrons for exciting and returning to the ground state. Here, CdSe/ZnS core/shell QDs have been prepared and applied for electrochemical sensor development in this approach. Flat glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was coated with CdSe/ZnS QDs as very thin uniform layer to result of the selective and efficient sensor of 3-CP (3-chlorophenol). The significant analytical parameters were calculated from the calibration plot such as sensitivity (3.6392 µA µM-1 cm-2) and detection limit (26.09 ± 1.30 pM) with CdSe/ZnS/GCE sensor probe by electrochemical approach. The calibration curve was fitted with the regression co-efficient r2 = 0.9906 in the range of 0.1 nM ∼ 0.1 mM concentration, which denoted as linear dynamic range (LDR). Besides these, it was performed the reproducibility in short response time and successfully validated the fabricated sensor for 3-CP in the real environmental and extracted samples. It is introduced as a noble route to detect the environmental phenolic contaminants using CdSe/ZnS QDs modified sensor by electrochemical method for the safety of healthcare and environmental fields at broad scales.

Abstract
In this review article, a significant number of published articles (over three decades) were consulted in order to provide comprehensive literature information about chlorophenols, their sources into the environment, classification, and toxicity, various wastewater treatment methods for their removal as well as the characteristics of their adsorption by various adsorbents. Organizing the scattered available information on a wide range of potentially effective adsorbents in the removal of chlorophenols is the principal objective of this article. Various adsorbents such as natural materials, waste materials from industries, agricultural by-products and biomass-based activated carbon in the removal of various chlorophenols have been compiled and discussed here. Crucial factors like temperature, solution pH, contact time and initial solution concentration are also reported and discussed here. The π-π dispersion interaction mechanism, hydrogen bonding formation mechanism, and the electron donor-acceptor complex mechanism were proposed for the chlorophenols adsorption onto various adsorbents with the help of current literature. Conclusions have been drawn proposing a few suggestions for future research on mitigating the effect of chlorophenols in the environment.

Abstract
In this work, salting out liquid-liquid extraction (SALLE) combined with dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) was developed as a novel extraction method for extraction and preconcentration of phenol and chlorophenols (CPs) in environmental water samples. The analytes were derivatized with 4-aminoantipyrineand determined by spectrophotometry. Experimental parameters such as type and volume of the organic solvent, type and amount of salt, pH and vortex time were optimized. Under the optimum conditions, calibration curves were linear in the range of 1-300 μg L-1 and limit of detections (LODs) were in the range of 0.15-0.22 μg L-1. The extraction recoveries and enrichment factors ranged from 94.80% to 106.1% and 78.12 to 82.53, respectively. Repeatability of method based on five replicate measurements of phenols was in the range of 4.8-7.2%. The results obtained in this study showed that the proposed method is simple, rapid and environmentally friendly with high extraction efficiency for preconcentration and determination of phenol and CPs in real samples. The proposed method was also compared with the reference method.

Abstract
In this study a novel "yarn-in-tube" configuration was introduced by packing cotton yarn inside stainless steel cartridge named packed yarn-in-tube solid phase extraction (yarn-IT-SPE) followed by high performance liquid chromatography. For the first time, cotton yarns were coated with a new polypyrrole@copper-chromium-iron ternary layered double hydroxide nanocomposite (Yarn@PPy@Cu-Cr-Fe LDH). The yarn@PPy@Cu-Cr-Fe LDH sorbent exhibited flexible substrate, high porosity, a three-dimensional, high sorbent loading, long lifetime, good mechanical stability, high anion-exchange capacity and large specific surface area as a result it is a good choice for the separation and preconcentration of acidic cholorophenols in honey samples. Several important factors affecting extraction efficiency such as extraction and desorption times, pH of solution and flow rates of the sample solution and eluent were investigated and optimized. Under the optimal conditions, the limits of detection were in the range of 0.05-0.07 μg L-1. This method showed good linearity for chlorophenols in the range of 0.10-500 μg L-1, with coefficients of determination better than 0.9989. The inter- and intra-assay precisions (RSD%, n = 5) were in the range of 3.2-4.9% and 2.1-3.6% at three concentration levels of 2, 10 and 20 μg L-1, respectively. The validated method was successfully applied for analysis of 4-chloro-, 2,4-dichloro-, and 2,4,6-trichloro phenols in honey samples.

Abstract
This study is devoted on Allura Red as food colorant preconcentration and determination in beverage, fruit juice and drink water samples is based on usage of Mn- and Cu- @ ZnS-NPs-AC as new sorbent for ultrasound-assisted-dispersive solid-phase microextraction (UA-DSPME) combined with ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometric based method (UV-Vis). Contribution of volume of eluent, pH, sorbent mass and sonication time on response following conduction of 28 experiments were optimized and investigated while their significantly justified according to p-value. Values of "Prob > F" less than 0.0500 is proportional with their significant influence on recovery of analyte. Under the optimum conditions 0.14 mL of THF; pH of 2.5; 8 mg of sorbent and 3 min sonication time guide and help achievement of limit of quantification (LOQ) and limit of detection (LOD) of 6.08 and 20.26 ng mL-1, respectively. The accuracy of method was validated according to calculation of recovery following spiking 400 and 600 ng mL-1 to blank solution and recovery as more reliable indication of accuracy 93.41 and 102.17% recoveries with RSD < 3.5%, which demonstrate the successful applicability of present method for real sample analysis. The maximum sorbent capacity was 50.0 mg g-1 based on Langmuir isotherm as best model with high correlation coefficient. Combination of UA-DSPME and UV-Vis lead to higher sensitivity and lower cost for accurate and repeatable monitoring of Allura Red level in beverage, fruit juice and drink water samples with acceptable recovery and reasonable RSD%.

Abstract
A type of magnetic ionic liquid based molecularly imprinted polymer coated on SiO2 (Fe3O4@SiO2@IL-MIPs) was prepared with 1-vinyl-3-ethylimidazole ionic liquid as functional monomer, and 1,4-butane-3,3'-bis-1-ethylimidazole ionic liquid as cross linker, 4-Chlorophenol as template was successfully applied as a selective adsorbent for selective extraction of 5 chlorophenols in seawater samples by using the magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) method. 11 types of Fe3O4@SiO2@IL-MIPs were synthesized and investigated for their different compositions of functional monomer (such as [C2min][Br], [C2min][BF4], [C2min][PF6], acrylamide, methacrylic acid and 4-vinyl pyridine) and cross-linker (such as [C4min2][Br], [C4min2][BF4], [C4min2][PF6], divinylbenzene, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate), respectively. The [C2min][BF4] and [C4min2][PF6] based Fe3O4@SiO2@IL-MIP with the highest extraction efficiencies was applied to the optimization experiment of MSPE process (including extraction time, adsorbent mass and desorption solvents). Good linearity was obtained with correlation coefficients (R2) over 0.9990 and the relative standard deviations for the intra-day and inter-day determination were less than 3.10% with the extraction recoveries ranged from 85.0% to 98.4%. The results indicated that the proposed Fe3O4@SiO2@IL-MIPs possesses great identification and adsorption properties, and could be used as a good sorbent for selective extraction of CPs in environment waters.
