Abstract
A new series of thiazolidine-2,4-dione tethered 1,2,3-triazole derivatives were designed, synthesized and screened for their α-amylase inhibitory potential employing in vitro and in silico approaches. The target compounds were synthesized with the help of Cu (I) catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of terminal alkyne with numerous azides, followed by unambiguously characterizing the structure by employing various spectroscopic approaches. The synthesized derivatives were assessed for their in vitro α-amylase inhibition and it was found that thiazolidine-2,4-dione derivatives 6e, 6j, 6o, 6u and 6x exhibited comparable inhibition with the standard drug acarbose. The compound 6e with a 7-chloroquinolinyl substituent on the triazole ring exhibited significant inhibition potential with IC50 value of 0.040 μmol mL-1 whereas compound 6c (IC50 = 0.099 μmol mL-1) and 6h (IC50 = 0.098 μmol mL-1) were poor inhibitors. QSAR studies revealed the positively correlating descriptors that aid in the design of novel compounds. Molecular docking was performed to investigate the binding interactions with the active site of the biological receptor and the stability of the complex over a period of 100 ns was examined using molecular dynamics studies. The physiochemical properties and drug-likeliness behavior of the potent derivatives were investigated by carrying out the ADMET studies.

A New Insight Into The Huisgen Reaction: Heterogeneous Copper Catalyzed Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition for the Synthesis of 1,4-Disubstituted Triazole (From 2018-2023). Chem Biodivers 2024; 21:e202400109. Abstract
The Huisgen cycloaddition, often referred to as 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition, is a well-established method for synthesizing 1,4-disubstituted triazoles. Originally conducted under thermal conditions [3+2] cycloaddition reactions were limited by temperature, prolonged reaction time, and regioselectivity. The introduction of copper catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) revitalized interest, giving rise to the concept of "click chemistry". The CuAAC has emerged as a prominent method for producing 1,2,3-triazole with excellent yields and exceptional regioselectivity even in unfavorable conditions. Copper catalysts conventionally facilitate azide-alkyne cycloadditions, but challenges include instability and recycling issues. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for heterogeneous and porous catalysts in various chemical reactions. Chemists have been more interested in heterogenous catalysts as a result of the difficulties in separating homogenous catalysts from reaction products. These catalysts are favored for their abundant active sites, extensive surface area, easy separation from reaction mixtures, and the ability to be reused. Heterogeneous catalysts have garnered significant attention due to their broad industrial utility, characterized by cost-effectiveness, stability, resistance to thermal degradation, and ease of removal compared to their homogeneous counterparts. The present review covers recent advancements from year 2018 to 2023 in the field of click reactions for obtaining 1,2,3-triazoles through Cu catalyzed 1,3-dipolar azide-alkyne cycloaddition and the properties of the catalyst, reaction conditions such as solvent, temperature, reaction time, and the impact of different heterogeneous copper catalysts on product yield.

Abstract
Eight new hybrid constructs containing a series of sulfonamide and 1,2,3-triazole units were designed and synthesized. Anticancer, antioxidant and cholinesterase activities of these hybrid structures were investigated. In our design, the Cu(I)-catalyzed click reaction between N,4-dimethyl-N-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)benzenesulfonamide (6) and aryl azides 8a-h was used. Antioxidant activity values of 9f (IC50: 229.46 ± 0.001 μg/mL) and 9h (IC50: 254.32 ± 0.002 μg/mL) hybrid structures were higher than BHT (IC50: 286.04 ± 0.003 μg/mL) and lower than Ascorbic acid (IC50: 63.53 ± 0.001 μg/mL) and α-Tocopherol (IC50: 203.21 ± 0.002 μg/mL). We determined that the cytotoxic effects of hybrid constructs 9d (IC50: 3.81 ± 0.1084 µM) and 9g (IC50: 4.317 ± 0.0367 µM) against A549 and healthy cell line (HDF) are much better than standard cisplatin (IC50: 6.202 ± 0.0705 µM). It was determined that the AChE inhibitory activities of all synthesized compounds were much better than Galantamine used as a standard. In particular, 9c (IC50: 13.81 ± 0.0026 mM) had ten times better activity than the standard Galantamine (IC50: 136 ± 0.008 mM). The ADMET properties of the molecules have been thoroughly examined and met the criteria for drug-like substances. They also have a high oral absorption rate, as they can effectively cross the blood-brain barrier and are easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. In vitro experiments were confirmed by in silico molecular docking studies.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
Monoamine oxidases (MAOs) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) are promoters of colorectal cancer (CRC) and central signaling nodes in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) induced by activating hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs). Herein, a novel series of rationally designed triazole-tethered quinoxalines were synthesized and evaluated against HCT-116 CRC cells. The tailored scaffolds combine the pharmacophoric themes of both VEGFR-2 inhibitors and MAO inhibitors. All the synthesized derivatives were screened utilizing the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay for their possible cytotoxic effects on normal human colonocytes, then evaluated for their anticancer activities against HCT-116 cells overexpressing MAOs. The hit derivatives 11 and 14 exhibited IC50 = 18.04 and 7.850 µM, respectively, against HCT-116cells within their EC100 doses on normal human colonocytes. Wound healing assay revealed their efficient CRC antimetastatic activities recording HCT-116 cell migration inhibition exceeding 75 %. In vitro enzymatic assays demonstrated that both 11 and 14 efficiently inhibited VEGFR-2 (IC50 = 88.79 and 9.910 nM), MAO-A (IC50 = 0.763 and 629.1 nM) and MAO-B (IC50 = 0.488 and 209.6 nM) with observed MAO-B over MAO-A selectivity (SI = 1.546 and 3.001), respectively. Enzyme kinetics studies were performed for both compounds to identify their mode of MAO-B inhibition. Furthermore, qRT-PCR analysis showed that the hits efficiently downregulated HIF-1α in HCT-116cells by 3.420 and 16.96 folds relative to untreated cells. Docking studies simulated their possible binding modes within the active sites of VEGFR-2 and MAO-B to highlight their essential structural determinants of activities. Finally, they recorded in silico drug-like absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) profiles as well as ligand efficiency metrics.

Abstract
Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (CuAAC) - commonly known as the "click reaction" - serves as the most effective and highly reliable tool for facile construction of simple to complex designs at the molecular level. It relates to the formation of carbon heteroatomic systems by joining or clicking small molecular pieces together with the help of various organic reactions such as cycloaddition, conjugate addition, ring-opening, etc. Such dynamic strategy results in the generation of triazole and its derivatives from azides and alkynes with three nitrogen atoms in the five-membered aromatic azole ring that often forms gel-assembled structures having gelating properties. These scaffolds have led to prominent applications in designing advanced soft materials, 3D printing, ion sensing, drug delivery, photonics, separation, and purification. In this review, we mainly emphasize the different mechanistic aspects of triazole formation, which includes the synthesis of sugar-based and non-sugar-based triazoles, and their gel applications reported in the literature for the past ten years, as well as the upcoming scope in different branches of applied sciences.

Abstract
A hybrid pharmacophore strategy for unifying 1,2,3-triazole with 1,2,4-triazole cores to prepare mixed triazoles was accomplished by a ball-milling approach. The developed chemistry works under the catalysis of cupric oxide nanoparticles with salient features like one-jar operation, lower number of synthetic steps, catalyst recyclability, time-dependent product control, and good overall yields. π-Orbital properties based on theoretical calculations supported the suitability of these molecules for pharmacological screening. Therefore, the biological potency of the synthesized molecules was evaluated for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-diabetic activities. By virtue of their proton-donating tendency, all compounds showed promising radical-scavenging activity with the inhibition level reaching up to 90 %. These molecular hybrids also exhibited anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic potencies similar to those of standard compounds, owing to their electron-rich nature. Finally, α-amylase inhibitory potential was demonstrated in silico; significant regions necessary for enzyme inhibition were identified by hydrogen bonding interactions.

Abstract
In this work, eight new 1,2,3-triazoles (6a-h) were synthesized from acetylenes' "click" reaction with p-substituted azide derivatives. The structures of the compounds were characterized using standard analytical and spectroscopic methods (elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H(13C)NMR). The anticancer, antioxidant, α-amylase, ADME, molecular docking studies of synthesized triazoles were investigated. According to α -amylase enzyme inhibition results, all compounds except 6c (IC50: 2299 μg/mL) were found to have a higher IC50 value than the standard drug acarbose (IC50: 891 μg/mL). Compound 6g (IC50: 68 μg/mL) exhibited 13 times higher activity than standard acarbose. All compounds, except 6e, have been shown to have greater DPPH radical scavenging capabilities than BHT and β-carotene standards. According to ABTS radical scavenging studies, all compounds showed higher scavenging activity than ascorbic acid and Trolox. To determine the anticancer activity of the synthesized compounds, they were screened against the Hela cell line, and the results were compared with standard cisplatin (IC50: 16.30 μg/mL). Compound 6a (IC50: 49.03 μg/mL) was determined to have moderate activity relative to cisplatin. The compounds were examined comprehensively for ADME characteristics and did not violate any drug-likeness rule. ADME data showed that all physicochemical and pharmacological parameters of the compounds remained within defined limits as specified in Lipinski's rules (RO5) and put forth a high bioavailability profile. The molecular docking findings show that all molecules have a high affinity by exhibiting polar and apolar contact with essential residues in the binding pocket of α-amylase.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Abstract
1,2,3-triazoles are pharmaceutically significant compounds that have attracted recent interest from medicinal chemists because of their important biological activities. Addressed herein, some 1,2,3-triazoles were synthesized to investigate the inhibitory activities against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) enzymes, antioxidant capacity, and antimicrobial effect. The antioxidant profile of 1,2,3-triazoles determined by varied bioanalytical antioxidant methods, including 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS.+ ), 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH·), cupric ion (Cu2+ ) and ferric ion (Fe3+ ) ascorbic acid, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) were used as the standard compounds. In addition, the antibacterial and antifungal activities of these compounds were investigated against seven bacteria and three fungal species using the hollow agar method. As a result of these studies, it was determined that compound 4 showed the best antimicrobial activity and antioxidant activity close to the standards. Inhibitory effects and kinetic studies of these molecules on cholinesterase enzymes were performed. According to the results obtained, compound 4 showed stronger AChE inhibition and compound 3 stronger BChE inhibition compared to other compounds. In kinetic studies, it was found that AChE showed noncompetitive inhibition by compound 4, and BChE showed competitive inhibition by compound 3.

Abstract
Chemical structures possessing both 1,2,3-triazole and bis(indolyl)methane fragments gained considerable interest in drug synthesis owing to their established biological efficacies. However, 1,2,3-triazoles linked at the bridging position of bis(indolyl)methane is a logical and unexplored design approach. In this regard, nine new triazolyl-bis(indolyl)methane conjugates under AuCl catalyzed ball-milling conditions were accomplished. Comparative evaluation on absorptive and emissive properties of the synthesized dyads were also analyzed. To unravel the influence of different peripheral substituents on the electronic structure and π-orbital properties, theoretical investigations were performed. Screening of molecules for free radical scavenging, anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic showed comparable potency against reference drugs. In particular, compounds 7 h, 7 d and 7 a displayed good efficiency of α-amylase inhibition. The DNA gyrase inhibitory potential of all compounds were assessed in silico which revealed high binding affinity (ΔG=-8.99 Kcal/mol) for 7 i followed by 7 h (ΔG=-7.80 Kcal/mol) with the targeted protein.

Abstract
In this study, eight new compounds (7a-h) based on triazole compounds containing ester groups were synthesized with high yields. The structures of the synthesized compounds (7a-h) were elucidated by various spectroscopic methods (element analysis, FT-IR, 1H-(13C) NMR). Antioxidant, anticancer, and α-amylase enzyme inhibition activities of synthesized new triazole derivatives were carried out, and the effects of different groups on the activity were investigated. When the determined antioxidant properties of the compounds were examined, all synthesized compounds showed a moderate radical scavenging effect against radicals depending on the concentration (6.25-200 g/mL). All compounds except the three derivatives were found to have higher IC50 values than the standard drug acarbose (IC50: 891 μg/mL) according to the α-amylase enzyme inhibition results. Compound 7g (IC50: 50 g/mL) was discovered to have nearly eighteen (18) times the activity of the conventional medication acarbose (IC50: 891 μg/mL). Compounds synthesized for anticancer activity studies were screened against the Hela cell line, and the results were compared with standard cis-platinum (IC50: 16.30 μg/mL). Compound 7g (IC50: 19.78 μg/mL) was found to have almost the same activity as cis-platinum. Using Qikprop, the compounds were thoroughly tested for ADME qualities, and none violated any drug similarity standards. According to ADME data, whole physicochemical drug-likeness parameters of molecules remained within defined ranges as stipulated in the Lipinski rules (RO5) and revealed a high bioavailability profile. The molecular docking results with 2QV4 and 4GQR alpha-amylase enzymes demonstrated that all molecules have a high affinity, indicating polar and apolar interaction with critical amino acids in the α-amylase binding pocket.

Abstract
A new pyridine derivative 1-(4-amino-3,5-dinitropyridin-2-yl) guanidine (ADG) was synthesized through nitration and substitution reaction using 4-amino-2-cholopyridine as raw material. Its structure was characterized by spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectrometry. The crystal of ADG is monoclinic, space group Pbca with crystal parameters of a = 7.23 Å, b = 14.56 Å, c = 17.93 Å, α = β= γ= 90 Å, V = 1911 Å3, μ = 0.143 mm−1, and Z = 8. This new molecule exhibits moderate density ( ρ= 1.677 g cm−3), good thermal stability with a decomposition temperature of 217 °C, and moderate detonation property with detonation pressure of 20.83 GPa and detonation velocity of 7.00 km s−1. The Hirshfeld surface analysis revealed a significant contribution of weak interactions to the packing forces for molecules. Electron localization function analysis indicates that there is substantial electron localization in regions of C–H, N–H, and N–O covalent bond sites.

Abstract
Carotenoids, a group of isoprenoid pigments, are naturally synthesized by various microorganisms and plants, and are industrially used as ingredients in food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical product formulations. Although several types of carotenoids and diverse microbial carotenoid producers have been reported, studies on lactic acid bacteria (LAB)-derived carotenoids are relatively insufficient. There is a notable lack of research focusing on C30 carotenoids, the functional characterizations of their biosynthetic genes and their mass production by genetically engineered microorganisms. In this study, the biosynthesis of 4,4'-diaponeurosporene in Escherichia coli harboring the core biosynthetic genes, dehydrosqualene synthase (crtM) and dehydrosqualene desaturase (crtN), from Lactiplantibacillus plantarum subsp. plantarum KCCP11226 was constructed to evaluate and enhance 4,4'-diaponeurosporene production and antioxidant activity. The production of 4,4'-diapophytoene, a substrate of 4,4'-diaponeurosporene, was confirmed in E. coli expressing only the crtM gene. In addition, recombinant E. coli carrying both C30 carotenoid biosynthesis genes (crtM and crtN) was confirmed to biosynthesize 4,4'-diaponeurosporene and exhibited a 6.1-fold increase in carotenoid production compared to the wild type and had a significantly higher antioxidant activity compared to synthetic antioxidant, butylated hydroxytoluene. This study presents the discovery of an important novel E. coli platform in consideration of the industrial applicability of carotenoids.

Abstract
Herein, we report the synthesis and antioxidant capacity of twelve novel 1,2,3-triazole-containing nitrones such as N-(2-(4-aryl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)ethylidene)methanamine oxides 8a-f and N-(2-(4-aryl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)ethylidene)-2-methylpropan-2-amine oxides 9a-f, bearing an N-methyl, and an N-t-butyl substituent, respectively, at the nitrogen of the nitrone motif. Nitrones 8 and 9 were studied with regard to their antioxidant ability, as well as their ability to inhibit soybean lypoxygenase (LOX), and their in vitro antioxidant activity. For this, we used three different antioxidant assays, such as that featuring the interaction with the water-soluble azo compound AAPH for the inhibition of lipid peroxidation (LP), the competition with the DMSO for scavenging hydroxyl radicals, and the ABTS•+-decolorization assay. t-Butyl nitrone 9e, bearing the 2,4-difluorophenyl motif, showed a strong LP inhibitory effect (100%), close to the reference compound Trolox (93%), being the most potent LP inhibitor (LPi) of the whole series of tested nitrones. Nitrones 9d, 9e and 9f, bearing the 4-fluorophenyl, 2,4-difluorophenyl, and 4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl motif, respectively, were almost equipotent, and the most potent hydroxyl radical scavengers (~100%), more potent than Trolox (88%), were used as a reference compound. Regarding the LOX inhibition, the most potent inhibitor was the t-butyl substituted nitrone 9f (27 μM), bearing the 4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl motif, being 60-fold less potent than NDGA (0.45 μM), which was used as the standard in this test. The results from the antioxidant determination in the ABTS radical cation (ABTS•+) decolorization assay were not significant. N-Methyl nitrone 8f, bearing the 4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl motif, was the only promising representative, with a value of 34.3%, followed by nitrone 9f (16%). From the antioxidant analyses, we have identified N-(2-(4-(4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)ethylidene)-2-methylpropan-2-amine oxide (9f), bearing t-butyl and 4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl motifs in its structure, as the most balanced and potent antioxidant agent among the tested nitrones, as it was the most potent LOX inhibitor (27 μM), an extremely efficient and potent hydroxyl radical scavenger (99.9%), as well as one of the most potent LPi (87%) and ABTS•+ scavengers (16%).

Abstract
New hybrid compounds belonging to the class of 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles were synthesized. The structural characterization of the synthesized compounds was performed using IR, 1H-NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis techniques. Diarylketones 1a and 1b were used as starting compounds for the synthesis of triazoles. The corresponding diarylmethanol derivatives (2a,b) were obtained from reduction of ketone units with NaBH4. Oxyalkynes (3a,b) were obtained by treating the hydroxyl group with NaH in anhydrous THF and then with propargylbromide. The target hybrid structures 6a-n were obtained from the metal-catalyzed "click reaction" of the arylazide and alkyne units. The newly synthesized compounds were structurally analysed using 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, elemental analysis, LC-MS and FT-IR. The antioxidant and anticancer activities of all compounds were investigated. It has been determined that the new hybrid structures have very good antioxidant and anticancer activities according to the standards. In particular, compounds 6b, 6h, 6i and 6j (IC50: 1.87, 12.5, 7.22, 8.04 µM) showed excellent activity compared to standard 5-Fu (IC50: 40.89 µM). According to the results of molecular docking of compounds 6b and 6i with the highest cancer activity, MetAP-2 was found to have a high affinity through exposed polar and apolar contacts with fundemental residues in the binding pocket.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Abstract
In this study, a series of bis- and tetrakis-1,2,3-triazole derivatives were synthesized using copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) click chemistry in 73-95% yield. The bis- and tetrakis-1,2,3-triazoles exhibited significant DNA cleavage activity while the tetrakis-1,2,3-triazole analog 6g completely degraded the plasmid DNA. Molecular docking simulations suggest that compound 6g acts as minor groove binder of DNA by binding through several noncovalent interactions with base pairs. All bis- and tetrakis-1,2,3-triazole derivatives were screened for antibacterial activity against E. coli, B. cereus, S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, E. hirae, L. pneumophila subsp. pneumophila strains and antifungal activity against microfungus C. albicans and C. tropicalis strains. Compound 4d exhibited the best antibacterial activity among bis-1,2,3-triazoles against E. coli and E. hirae, while 6c exhibited the best antibacterial activity among tetrakis-1,2,3-triazoles against E. hirae. Furthermore, the best antifungal activity against C. albicans and C. tropicalis was reported for the compound 5, while 6d displayed the best antifungal activity against C. tropicalis and C. albicans. Reasonable iron chelating activities and DPPH radical scavenging abilities were found for some of the compounds. Finally, the acid dissociation constants (pKa) of the bis-1,2,3-triazoles were also determined with the help of HYPERQUAD program using the data obtained from potentiometric titrations. The reported data here concludes that the bis- and tetrakis-1,2,3-triazoles are important cores that should be considered for further development of especially new anticancer agents acting through the DNA cleavage activity.

Abstract
Some urea-thiazole/benzothiazole hybrids with a triazole linker were synthesized via Cu(I)-catalysed click reaction. After successfully analysed by various spectral techniques including FTIR, NMR and HRMS, antimicrobial screening of the synthesized hybrids along with their precursors was carried out against two Gram (+) bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus endophyticus), two Gram (-) bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas fluorescens) and two fungi (Candida albicans and Rhizopus oryzae). All the synthesized compounds (4a-4l) displayed better biological response than the standard fluconazole against both of the tested fungi. Compounds 4h and 4j were found to be the most active compounds against R. oryzae and C. albicans, respectively. Molecular docking of hybrid 4j and its alkyne precursor 1b in the active site of C. albicans target sterol 14-α demethylase was also performed and was also supported by molecular dynamics studies. In silico ADME prediction of synthesized urea-thiazole/benzothiazole hybrids with a triazole linker and their alkyne precursors was also predicted.

The present work describes design of a small library of new 1,2,3-triazole-appended bis-pyrazoles by using a molecular hybridization approach, and the synthesized hybrids were evaluated for their antifungal activity against different fungal strains, namely, Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, Candida glabrata, Candida tropicalis, Aspergillus niger, and Aspergillus fumigatus. All the compounds exhibited broad-spectrum activity against the tested fungal strains with excellent minimum inhibitory concentration values. The molecular docking study against sterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51) could provide valuable insights into the binding modes and affinity of these compounds. Furthermore, these compounds were also evaluated for their antioxidant activity, which also resulted in promising data.

Abstract
Nitrogen heterocyclic rings have participated to constitute most of the drugs and several pharmacologically related compounds. The existence of such hetero atoms/groups in heterocyclic systems privileged specificities in their biological objectives. Particularly, quinazoline and triazole are biologically imperative platforms known to be linked with various pharmacological activities. Some of the prominent pharmacological responses ascribed to these systems are analgesic, antiinflammatory, anticonvulsant, hypnotic, antihistaminic, antihypertensive, anticancer, antimicrobial, antitubercular, antiviral and antimalarial activities. This diversity in the pharmacological outputs for both triazole and quinazoline systems has encouraged the medicinal chemistry researchers to create several chemical routes aiming at the incorporation of two rings in one molecule named triazoloquinazoline system. This system has shown multiple potential activities against numerous targets. Correlation the specific structural features of triazoloquinazoline system with its pharmacological purposes has successively been achieved by performing several pharmacological examinations and structure-activity relationship studies. The development of triazoloquinazoline derivatives and the understanding of their pharmacological targets offer opportunities for novel therapeutics. This review mainly emphases on the medicinal chemistry aspects of triazoloquinazolines including synthesis, reactivity, biological activity and structure activity relationship studies (SARs). Moreover, this review collates literature reported by researchers on triazoquinazolines and provides detailed attention on their analogs pharmacological activities in the perspective of drug development and discovery.

Abstract
Several valuable biologically active molecules can be obtained through C-H activation processes. However, the use of expensive and not readily accessible catalysts complicates the process of pharmacological application of these compounds. A plausible way to overcome this issue is developing and using cheaper, more accessible, and equally effective catalysts. First-row transition (3d) metals have shown to be important catalysts in this matter. This review summarizes the use of 3d metal catalysts in C-H activation processes to obtain potentially (or proved) biologically active compounds.
