Abstract
Cervical cancer screening (CCS) is a critical component of preventative sexual and reproductive healthcare, yet there are disparities in access to CCS for people with disabilities. This qualitative community-engaged study uses the disability reproductive justice framework to examine how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted people with disabilities' experiences with CCS in Canada. From May 2022 to March 2023, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 40 women and gender-diverse people with physical, sensory, cognitive, and/or mental health disabilities. Results from a thematic analysis indicate that barriers to CCS before and during the COVID-19 pandemic were characterized by inaccessibility, ableism and intersecting forms of oppression, provider distrust, the deprioritization of people with disabilities' sexual and reproductive healthcare, and the disregard for disabled people's autonomy. Grounded in these findings, this article situates preventative sexual and reproductive healthcare like CCS as a disability reproductive justice concern. Amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic, barriers to CCS enacted disability reproductive injustice through everyday ableism and micro-eugenics that devalued people with disabilities. Barriers to CCS must be addressed in collaboration with disability communities. Guided by participant insights, recommendations include making preventative sexual and reproductive health services like CCS more accessible and available to people with disabilities, especially in the aftermath of public health emergencies that disproportionately impact disability communities.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a detrimental impact on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and rights globally. However, little is known about the experiences of people with disabilities accessing SRH services during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this community-engaged qualitative study, we examined COVID-related impacts on access to SRH services for people with disabilities. We interviewed 61 women and gender-diverse people in Canada from May 2022 to March 2023. Informed by disability reproductive justice, we identified four major themes through constructivist analysis. First, COVID-related changes to SRH service delivery disrupted access to care and caused disability-related health implications. Second, pandemic response measures changed SRH service accessibility: in-person accessibility barriers were amplified, new in-person accessibility barriers were introduced, and the transition to telehealth exacerbated, as well as mitigated, accessibility barriers. Third, COVID-related social changes (e.g. lockdowns) had disability-related SRH and rights implications. Fourth, disabled people recommended improving SRH services by enhancing funding, provider training, information and communication, disability accommodations, representation, and comprehensive community engagement. Cutting across these themes were disproportionate negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on access to SRH services for racialised women and gender-diverse people with disabilities. Failure to ensure SRH and rights for women and gender-diverse people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic undermined disability reproductive justice. Comprehensive disability community engagement is necessary to inform accessible SRH services and policies, both during and beyond a pandemic.

Abstract
AIM This study investigated the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the clinical characteristics and interregional movement of patients with uterine cervical cancer. METHODS This study included 1189 patients who underwent treatment for cervical cancer, including cervical intraepithelial neoplasm and adenocarcinoma in situ, at our hospital in Tokyo, Japan, in 2017-2018 and in 2021, before and after the pandemic, respectively. The patients' clinical information was compared during both periods. The clinical stage was unified using the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) 2008 staging. RESULTS The number of patients treated for cervical cancer was 355, 420, and 414 in 2017, 2018, and 2021, respectively. The percentage of invasive carcinomas significantly increased from 158 (44.5%) and 196 (46.7%) to 219 (52.9%) (p = 0.049). In all periods, no significant differences were observed in median age, histological type, and treatment. The proportions of FIGO Stage IA1 were significantly elevated from 3.9% and 3.8% to 11.4% (p < 0.001). The percentage of patients from prefectures other than Tokyo significantly increased from 34.9% to 40.8% (p = 0.049). Furthermore, the proportion of patients with invasive carcinoma in private clinics increased from 28.0% to 37.9% (p = 0.014). CONCLUSIONS The number of patients with invasive carcinoma and the percentage of patients with invasive carcinoma referred from private clinics increased, indicating that the COVID-19 pandemic influenced patients to delay consultations. Furthermore, the surge in patients from other prefectures indicates that medical resources were more limited in rural areas, another impact of COVID-19.

Abstract
A qualitative exploration was conducted to analyse the reasons behind the low utilisation of cervical cancer screening services in Gwanda district, Zimbabwe, focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study involved 5 focus group discussions with 36 women, utilising maximum variation sampling to explore the effects of COVID-19 on screening coverage. Additionally, in-depth interviews were conducted with 25 health-care providers from primary health facilities and the provincial hospital offering screening services. The results suggest a decline in the progress of the cervical cancer screening programme due to the disruptions caused by COVID-19 which subsequently reduced women's access to screening and treatment services. It was anticipated that restoring women's confidence in adherence to screening would require time post-pandemic. Moreover, findings highlighted the potential progression of undetected precursor lesions to advanced cancer stages during non-screening periods, which may increase future cervical cancer morbidity and mortality. The findings underscore the importance of integrating cervical cancer screening messaging within broader health communication strategies to emphasise the significance of health interventions for overall well-being. This study recommends the adoption of more efficient screening methods, such as Human-Papillomavirus self-sampling to mitigate future disruptions in screening services, thereby guiding policymakers towards implementing best screening approaches.

Abstract
BACKGROUND During the prolonged period from Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection to cervical cancer development, Low-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (LSIL) stage provides a critical opportunity for cervical cancer prevention, giving the high potential for reversal in this stage. However, there is few research and a lack of clear guidelines on appropriate intervention strategies at this stage, underscoring the need for real-time prognostic predictions and personalized treatments to promote lesion reversal. METHODS We have established a prospective cohort. Since 2018, we have been collecting clinical data and pathological images of HPV-infected patients, followed by tracking the progression of their cervical lesions. In constructing our predictive models, we applied logistic regression and six machine learning models, evaluating each model's predictive performance using metrics such as the Area Under the Curve (AUC). We also employed the SHAP method for interpretative analysis of the prediction results. Additionally, the model identifies key factors influencing the progression of the lesions. RESULTS Model comparisons highlighted the superior performance of Random Forests (RF) and Support Vector Machines (SVM), both in clinical parameter and pathological image-based predictions. Notably, the RF model, which integrates pathological images and clinical multi-parameters, achieved the highest AUC of 0.866. Another significant finding was the substantial impact of sleep quality on the spontaneous clearance of HPV and regression of LSIL. CONCLUSIONS In contrast to current cervical cancer prediction models, our model's prognostic capabilities extend to the spontaneous regression stage of cervical cancer. This model aids clinicians in real-time monitoring of lesions and in developing personalized treatment or follow-up plans by assessing individual risk factors, thus fostering lesion spontaneous reversal and aiding in cervical cancer prevention and reduction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Multiple evidence-based strategies (EBS) for promoting HPV vaccination exist. However, adolescent HPV vaccination rates remain below target levels in communities at high risk for HPV-associated cancers and served by safety-net clinics. Participatory engaged approaches are needed to leverage the expertise of community and clinical partners in selecting EBS relevant to their local context. We engaged concept mapping as a method to inform the adoption and adaptation of EBS that seeks to empower implementation partners to prioritize, select, and ultimately implement context-relevant EBS for HPV vaccination. METHODS Using 38 EBS statements generated from qualitative interviews and national HPV vaccine advocacy sources, we conducted a modified concept mapping activity with partners internal to safety-net clinics and external community members in two study sites of a larger implementation study (Greater Los Angeles and New Jersey), to sort EBS into clusters and rate each EBS by importance and feasibility for increasing HPV vaccination within safety-net clinics. Concept mapping findings (EBS statement ratings, ladder graphs and go-zones) were shared with leaders from a large federally qualified health center (FQHC) system (focusing on three clinic sites), to select and implement EBS over 12 months. RESULTS Concept mapping participants (n=23) sorted and rated statements, resulting in an eight-cluster solution: 1) Community education and outreach; 2) Advocacy and policy; 3) Data access/quality improvement monitoring; 4) Provider tracking/audit and feedback; 5) Provider recommendation/communication; 6) Expanding vaccine access; 7) Reducing missed opportunities; and 8) Nurse/staff workflow and training. The FQHC partner then selected to intervene on eight of 17 EBS statements in the "go-zone" for action, with three from "reducing missed opportunities," two from "nurse/staff workflow and training," and one each from "provider tracking/audit and feedback," "provider recommendation/communication," and "expanding vaccine access," which the research team addressed through the implementation of three multi-level intervention strategies (e.g., physician communication training, staff training and workflow assessment, audit and feedback of clinic processes). CONCLUSIONS Concept mapping provided a powerful participatory approach to identify multilevel EBS for HPV vaccination relevant to the local safety-net clinic context, particularly when several strategies exist, and prioritization is necessary. This study demonstrates how a clinic system benefited directly from the ratings and prioritization of EBS by multilevel clinic and community partners within the broader safety-net clinic context to identify and adapt prioritized solutions needed to advance HPV vaccine equity.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: Our aim was to perform a retrospective analysis of the volume of cervical screening tests, the number of patients treated with an excision method, and the incidence of invasive and non-invasive cervical during a pandemic and pre-pandemic period of 24 months. Materials and Methods: The study compared 404 patients who underwent cervical cone biopsy for cervical cancer. The study examined patients' specimens based on histopathological characteristics and categorized cervical lesions based on pap smear. Results: There was a statistically significant age difference between the two study periods. The mean difference was 32 years before the pandemic and 35 years during the pandemic (p-value > 0.05). The biggest patient loss ratio identified by age group was in the 50-59-year group, with a 14.53% loss in the pre-pandemic period and a 9.1% loss in the pandemic period. In the pandemic period, patients from rural areas presented in the clinical trial with a lower rate of 39.52% (83 patients) vs. 60.47% (127 patients) in urban areas. A higher percentage of patients experiencing cervicorrhagia as a clinical manifestation in the pandemic period vs. the pre-pandemic period, with an increase in more severe lesions in the pandemic period, had a statistical significance of 8% more newly diagnosed compared to the pre-pandemic period. Conclusions: The addressability of the patients during the COVID period was not affected in a drastic way in our study. We encountered a decrease in appointments in the age group of 50-59 years and a decrease in patients with rural residence. In our study, we found an increase in cervical bleeding as a reason for consultation in the pandemic period with a higher lesion degree, both on a pap smear and on a cervical biopsy.

Abstract
Background The COVID-19 pandemic led to a national lockdown and the interruption of all cancer preventive services, including cervical cancer screening. We aimed to assess the COVID-19 pandemic impact on opportunistic screening participation, abnormal cytology (ASCUS+) prevalence and screening interval in 2020 and 2021 within the Public Health System of Catalonia, Spain. Methods Individual data on cytology and HPV testing of women aged 25-65 from 2014 to 2021 were retrieved from the Information System for Primary Care Services (SISAP). Time-series regression models were used to estimate expected screening participation and abnormal cytology prevalence in 2020 and 2021. The impact was determined by comparing observed and expected values (ratios). Additionally, changes in screening interval trends between 2014 and 2021 were assessed by fitting a Piecewise linear regression model. Results Cervical cancer screening participation decreased by 38.8% and 2.2% in 2020 and 2021, respectively, with the most significant impact on participation (-96.1%) occurring in April 2020. Among older women, participation was lower, and it took longer to recover. Abnormal cytology prevalence was 1.4 times higher than expected in 2020 and 2021, with variations by age (range=1.1-1.5). From June 2020 onwards, the screening interval trend significantly changed from an increase of 0.59 to 3.57 months per year, resulting in a median time of 48 months by December 2021. Conclusions During the pandemic, fewer women have participated in cervical cancer screening, abnormal cytology prevalence has increased, and the screening interval is more prolonged than before. The potential cervical cancer lifetime risk implications highlight the need for organized HPV-based screening.

Abstract
PURPOSE Although national medical organizations often neglect to include trans and gender diverse (TGD) people in their breast and cervical cancer screening recommendations, the World Profession Association of Transgender Health recommends that TGD people who are at risk for these cancers follow existing guidelines for cisgender women. Despite WPATH's recommendations, TGD people are less likely to get screened in large part due to discrimination. The COVID-19 pandemic has limited access to cancer screenings among cisgender people, but it is unknown how this has impacted TGD people. METHODS Using national survey data from the Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance System (BRFSS), we examined differences in cervical and breast cancer screening noncompliance across gender identity at two time points: before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. RESULTS Screening noncompliance increased during the COVID-19 pandemic among cisgender and TGD people (e.g., transgender men, gender non-conforming people). Compared to cisgender women, transgender men and gender non-conforming respondents had higher odds of breast cancer screening noncompliance before and during COVID-19. Transgender men had lower odds of cervical cancer screening noncompliance than cisgender women before COVID-19, but higher odds during the pandemic. Gender non-conforming respondents also had lower odds of cervical cancer screening noncompliance during COVID-19 compared to cisgender women. CONCLUSIONS Screening noncompliance for breast and cervical cancer was more common among TGD people than cisgender women; while these disparities existed before the COVID-19 pandemic, they were exacerbated during the pandemic. Future work should move beyond descriptive statistics and elucidate underlying causes to inform interventions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Delays in initiating and completing brachytherapy may have adverse oncologic outcomes for patients with cervical, uterine, and prostate cancer. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on brachytherapy in the United States has not been well-characterized. OBJECTIVES We aim to evaluate how a positive COVID-19 test affected timeliness of treatment for patients undergoing brachytherapy for cervical, uterine, and prostate cancer. METHODS We queried the National Cancer Database to identify patients diagnosed with cervical, uterine, and prostate cancer in 2019 and 2020 who received brachytherapy in their treatment. Patients who tested positive for COVID-19 between cancer diagnosis and start of radiation were compared to those who did not test positive for COVID-19. Time in days from cancer diagnosis to initiation of radiation was compared using two-sample t-tests with p < 0.05 signifying significant differences. RESULTS We identified 38,341 patients with cervical (n = 6,925), uterine (n = 18,587), and prostate cancer (n = 12,829). Rates of COVID-19 positivity were cervical cancer (n = 135; 2%), uterine cancer (n = 236; 1.3%), and prostate cancer (n = 141; 1%). Of those, 35% of cervical, 49% of uterine, and 43% of prostate cancer patients tested positive between their cancer diagnosis and initiation of radiation. Median days to radiation was significantly longer in these patients: 78 versus 51 for cervical cancer (p < 0.01), 150 versus 104 for uterine cancer (p < 0.01), and 154 versus 124 for prostate cancer (p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS For patients with cervical, uterine, and prostate cancer diagnosed between 2019-2020, testing positive for COVID-19 after their cancer diagnosis was associated with a delay to initiation of radiation by 4-7 weeks.

Abstract
Cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CESC) ranks among the primary contributors to global cancer-associated mortality. However, the role mediated by synaptotagmin 7 (SYT7) in CESC remains unclear. Our study employed immunohistochemistry to assess the level of SYT7 expression in the tissue microarray. Furthermore, lentiviral shRNA transduction was utilized to establish SYT7 knockdown cell line models based on HeLa and SiHa cell lines. The functional impacts of silencing SYT7 expression in vitro were evaluated. A subcutaneous xenograft model was employed to examine the tumorigenic potential of cells with or without SYT7. The content of SYT7 in CESC tissues was significantly elevated compared to adjacent normal tissues. Functionally, silencing SYT7 in HeLa and SiHa cells suppressed cell proliferation, colony formation ability, and apoptosis enhancement. Additionally, cells with suppressed SYT7 also exhibited inhibited cell migration and invasion. In vivo experiments demonstrated the loss of tumorigenic ability in SYT7 knockdown cells and suppressed tumor growth. Quantitative PCR PrimeView PathArray and apoptosis antibody array analyses revealed that upon elimination of SYT7, there was a significant upregulation observed in Caspase 8, TNF-R1 (TNF receptor superfamily member 1A), and HSPA5 (heat shock protein family A [Hsp70] member 5), while TGFBI (transforming growth factor beta-induced), RPL31 (ribosomal protein L31), LUM (lumican), HSDL2 (hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-like 2), ITGB5 (integrin subunit beta 5), and Smad2 (SMAD family member2) were downregulated. Overall, we have demonstrated the tumor-promoting functions of SYT7 in CESC.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic led to disruption of health services around the world, including cancer services. We carried out a narrative review of the effect of the pandemic on cancer prevention services, including screening. Services were severely affected in the early months of the pandemic, and in some areas are still recovering. Large numbers of additional cancers or additional late-stage cancers have been predicted to arise over the coming years as a result of this disruption. To minimize the effects on cancer outcomes, it is necessary to return as quickly as possible to prepandemic levels of screening and prevention activity or indeed to exceed these levels. The recovery of services should address health inequalities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic has affected health care systems in many ways, including access to and the use of non-COVID services. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of the pandemic on the utilization of different public health care services in Poland. METHODS The aggregated data on health care users and provided services for the years 2015/2016-2021 were used to analyse the changes in health care utilization during the pandemic and deviations from pre-pandemic utilization trends. Quantitative analysis was complemented with qualitative descriptions of the changes in principles of health care provision during the pandemic. RESULTS The results show a considerable drop in the provision of most health care services in 2020 that in some cases disturbed pre-pandemic utilization trends and was not made up for in 2021. The most significant decrease has been observed in the field of preventive and public health services, as well as rehabilitation. The provision of these services was put on hold during the pandemic. CONCLUSIONS The accumulated COVID-19-related "health debt" urgently calls for government actions to strengthen disease prevention and health promotion in Poland.

Abstract
Vaccination for Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is important to reduce rates of cervical and oropharyngeal cancer. We aimed to evaluate if a program to initiate HPV vaccination at 9 years improved initiation and completion rates by 13 years of age. Data on empaneled patients aged 9-13 years from January 1, 2021 to August 30, 2022 were abstracted from the electronic health record. Primary outcome measures included HPV vaccination initiation and series completion by 13 years of age. The secondary outcome measure was missed opportunities for HPV vaccination. In total, 25,888 patients were included (12,433 pre-intervention, and 13,455 post-intervention). The percentage of patients aged 9-13 with an in-person visit who received at least 1 dose of HPV vaccine increased from 30% pre-intervention to 43% post-intervention. The percentage of patients who received 2 doses of vaccine increased from 19.3% pre-intervention to 42.7% post-intervention. For the overall population seen in-person, initiation of HPV vaccination by age 13 years increased from 42% to 54%. HPV completion increased as well (13% to 18%). HPV vaccination initiation at 9 years of age may be an acceptable and effective approach to improving vaccination rates.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare radical hysterectomy case volume, cancer stage, and biopsy-to-treatment time of invasive cervical cancer diagnosed before and after onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS In a multi-institution retrospective cohort study conducted at 6 large, geographically diverse National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers, patients treated for newly diagnosed invasive cervical cancer were classified into 2 temporal cohorts based on date of first gynecologic oncology encounter: (1) Pre-Pandemic: 3/1/2018-2/28/2020; (2) Pandemic & Recovery: 4/1/2020-12/31/2021. The primary outcome was total monthly radical hysterectomy case volume. Secondary outcomes were stage at diagnosis and diagnosis-to-treatment time. Statistical analyses used chi-squared and two sample t-tests. RESULTS Between 3/1/2018-12/31/2021, 561 patients were diagnosed with cervical cancer. The Pre-Pandemic and Pandemic & Recovery cohorts had similar age, race, ethnicity, smoking status, and Body Mass Index (BMI). During Pandemic & Recovery, the mean monthly radical hysterectomy case volume decreased from 7[SD 2.8] to 5[SD 2.0] (p = 0.001), the proportion of patients diagnosed with Stage I disease dropped from 278/561 (49.5%) to 155/381 (40.7%), and diagnosis of stage II-IV disease increased from 281/561 (50.1%) to 224/381 (58.8%). Primary surgical management was less frequent (38.3% Pandemic & Recovery versus 46.7% Pre-Pandemic, p = 0.013) and fewer surgically-treated patients received surgery within 6 weeks of diagnosis (27.4% versus 38.9%; p = 0.025). CONCLUSIONS Lower radical hysterectomy case volume, a shift to higher cervical cancer stage, and delay in surgical therapy were observed across the United States following the COVID-19 outbreak. Decreased surgical volume may result from lower detection of early-stage disease or other factors.

Abstract
Endometrial cancer represents an ideal target to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 being the most frequent gynecological malignancy in Italy, generally detected at early stages and correlated with favorable oncological outcomes. The present comparative retrospective study carried out at Campus Bio-medico University Foundation in Rome aims to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the presentation, diagnosis and treatment of EC. All women with a histological diagnosis of non-endometrioid and endometrioid endometrial cancer between 1 March 2018 and 31 October 2022 were included. The number of cases was higher in period 2 (95 vs. 64 cases). Time to diagnosis did not show statistically significant differences but in period 2, 92.06% of the diagnoses were made following abnormal uterine bleeding, while in period 1, only 67.02% were. The waiting time for the intervention was significantly shorter in period 2. Definitive histology, FIGO staging, surgical technique and adjuvant therapy did not show significant differences between the two periods. The study demonstrates that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic did not have a direct effect on the diagnostic delay, tumor staging and type of therapy but rather on the presentation pattern of endometrial cancer.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of our study was to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on reported cancer cases in Bavaria, Germany, by comparing pre-pandemic (March 2019 to February 2020) and pandemic period (March 2020 to February 2021). METHODS Data on incident cases were retrieved from the Bavarian Cancer Registry (until 22nd April 2022). We included patients with malignant and in situ neoplasms reported by pathology departments with consistent reporting. We calculated the number of incident cases during the COVID-19 pandemic and the pre-pandemic period with 95% confidence intervals (CI) with Bonferroni correction (α = 0.0018) based on a Poisson approach. We stratified for malignancy (malignant, in situ), tumor site, and month of year. RESULTS Data was available for 30 out of 58 pathology departments (51.7%) from Bavaria. Incident malignant neoplasms dropped from 42,857 cases in the pre-pandemic period to 39,980 cases in the pandemic period (- 6.7%; 95% CI - 8.7%, - 4.7%). Reductions were higher for colon, rectum, skin/melanoma as well as liver (> 10.0% reduction) and less for breast cancer (4.9% reduction). No case reductions were observed for pancreas, esophagus, ovary, and cervix. Percent changes were largest for April 2020 (- 20.9%; 95% CI - 24.7%, - 16.8%) and January 2021 (- 25.2%; 95% CI - 28.8%, - 21.5%) compared to the previous year. Declines tended to be larger for in situ compared to malignant neoplasms. CONCLUSION Detection and diagnosis of cancer were substantially reduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Potential effects, e.g. a stage shift of tumors or an increase of cancer mortality, need to be monitored.

Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB) is associated with a high mortality rate. The clinical outcome of SAB patients highly depends on early diagnosis, adequate antibiotic therapy and source control. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the health care system faced additional organizational challenges and the question arose whether structured screening and triaging for COVID-19 and shifting resources influence the management of SAB. Patients (n = 115) with SAB were enrolled in a retrospective comparative study with historical controls (March 2019-February 2021). The quality of SAB therapy was assessed with a point score, which included correct choice of antibiotic, adequate dosage of antibiotic, sufficient duration of therapy, early start of therapy after receipt of findings, focus search and taking control blood cultures 3-4 days after starting adequate antibiotic therapy. The quality of treatment before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic were compared. No significant differences in the total score points were found between the pre-COVID-19 and COVID-19 cohort. All quality indicators, except the correct duration of antibiotic therapy, showed no significant differences in both cohorts. Furthermore, there were no significant differences in the outcome between both cohorts. The treatment quality of SAB therapy was comparable before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
The relocation and reconstruction of health care resources and systems during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may have affected cancer care. An umbrella review was undertaken to summarize the findings from systematic reviews on impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer treatment modification, delays, and cancellations; delays or cancellations in screening and diagnosis; psychosocial well-being, financial distress, and use of telemedicine as well as on other aspects of cancer care. Bibliographic databases were searched for relevant systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis published before November 29th, 2022. Abstract, full- text screening, and data extraction were performed by two independent reviewers. AMSTAR-2 was used for critical appraisal of included systematic reviews. Fifty-one systematic reviews were included in our analysis. Most reviews were based on observational studies judged to be at medium and high risk of bias. Only two reviews had high or moderate scores based on AMSTAR-2. Findings suggest treatment modifications in cancer care during the pandemic versus the pre-pandemic period were based on low level of evidence. Different degrees of delays and cancellations in cancer treatment, screening, and diagnosis were observed, with low- and- middle- income countries and countries that implemented lockdowns being disproportionally affected. A shift from in-person appointments to telemedicine use was observed, but utility of telemedicine, challenges in implementation and cost-effectiveness in cancer care were little explored. Evidence was consistent in suggesting psychosocial well-being of patients with cancer deteriorated, and cancer patients experienced financial distress, albeit results were in general not compared to pre-pandemic levels. Impact of cancer care disruption during the pandemic on cancer prognosis was little explored. In conclusion, substantial but heterogenous impact of COVID-19 pandemic on cancer care has been observed.
