Abstract
Background Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a chronic disabling disease caused by degeneration of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased activity and the number of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased extracellular matrix, and infiltration of inflammatory factors, resulting in low back and leg pain. Recent studies have shown that non-surgical treatment is of great significance in reversing the progression of degenerative disc disease, and there are more relevant literature reports. However, there is no bibliometric analysis in this area. This study aimed to describe the knowledge structure and thematic trends of non-surgical treatment methods for IDD through bibliometrics. Methods Articles and reviews on non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration from 1998 to 2022 were collected on the Web of Science. VOSviewer 1.6.18, CiteSpace 6.1.R3, R package "bibliometrix" and two online analysis platforms were used for bibliometric and visual literature analysis. Results 961 articles were screened for inclusion, including 821 articles and 140 reviews. The analysis of our study shows that publications in the non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration are increasing annually, with publications coming mainly from North America and Asia, with China and the United States dominating. Huazhong Univ Sci & Technol and Wang K are the most prolific institutions and authors, respectively, and Le Maitre CL is the most co-cited author. However, there is less collaboration between institutions in different countries. Spine is both the most published and the most cited journal. According to the co-citation and co-occurrence analysis results, "mesenchymal stem cells," "exosomes," "medication," and "tissue engineering" are the current research hotspots in this field. Conclusions This study employs bibliometric analysis to explore the knowledge structure and trends of non-surgical treatments for IDD from 2013 to 2022. Key research hotspots include mesenchymal stem cells, exosomes, medication, and tissue engineering. The number of publications, especially from China and the USA, has increased significantly, though international collaboration needs improvement. Influential contributors include Wang K and the journal Spine. These findings provide a comprehensive overview and highlight important future directions for the field.

Abstract
Although the effectiveness of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs in secondary prevention is well-recognized, there is a lack of studies exploring the potential of mobile health to enhance educational interventions within CR. The objective is to assess the impact of a structured WhatsApp-assisted health educational intervention, in conjunction with the usual care, compared to the usual care alone among participants enrolled in a CR program. The trial will recruit 32 participants enrolled in a CR program, who will be randomly assigned to a structured WhatsApp-assisted health educational intervention plus usual care or usual care alone group. The intervention will span 4 weeks, with assessments at baseline, 4 weeks, and 3, 6, and 12 months. The primary outcome measure is the cardiovascular risk factors knowledge score. Secondary outcomes include physical activity levels, anxiety and depression, and quality of life. Expected results include improved knowledge of cardiovascular risk factors, increased physical activity levels, and better mental health outcomes in the intervention group. Additionally, an enhancement in the overall quality of life is anticipated. These findings are expected to underscore the value of integrating mHealth with traditional CR methods, potentially shaping future approaches in chronic disease management and prevention.

Abstract
This study aimed to dynamically track the priorities and potential research hotspots in the field of heart failure with sarcopenia. Using CiteSpace, we analyzed the literature on heart failure with sarcopenia from the Web of Science database from 1995 to 2022. The analysis encompassed 507 records, revealing an overall upward trend in annual publication volume. Europe and the United States emerged as the primary regions for publishing, particularly driven by contributions from developed countries such as the United States, Germany, and Italy. Productive institutions included the Charite Universitatsmedizin Berlin, University Medical Center Gottingen, the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK), Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and the National Institute on Aging (NIA). Noteworthy academic groups have formed around these institutions; von Haehling S, Anker Stefan D, Springer J, and Doehner W frequently collaborated. The core journals that frequently published articles in this area included Circulation, European Heart Journal, and The Journals of Gerontology Series A-Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences. Based on the keyword analysis, we identified three key research areas. First, the diagnosis and definition of sarcopenia emerged as significant themes. Second, researchers have focused on exploring the mechanisms underlying heart failure with sarcopenia, including inflammation, insulin resistance, and oxidative stress. Finally, treatment strategies, such as physical activity and nutritional support, constitute another critical research theme. Furthermore, potential research hotspots within this field include clinical randomized controlled trials, investigations into inflammatory mechanisms, cardiac rehabilitation, studies on physical activity, androgen receptor modulators, and investigations into clinical outcomes such as cognitive impairment.

Abstract
Exercise training is associated with an acute net increase in coagulation, which may increase the risk of atherothrombosis in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. We sought to compare the acute haemostatic effects of a bout of moderate-intensity continuous (MICT) and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) in patients with CAD. Patients after a recent myocardial infarction were randomized into a HIIT or MICT session of exercise training on a stationary bike. Blood was sampled at baseline, after the exercise bout and after a one-hour resting period. We measured overall haemostatic potential (OHP), overall coagulation potential (OCP), fibrinogen, D-dimer and von Willebrand factor (vWF) and calculated overall fibrinolytic potential (OFP). Linear mixed models for repeated measures were constructed to assess the treatment effect. A total of 117 patients were included. OCP, OHP, fibrinogen, D-dimer and vWF significantly increased after exercise and returned to baseline after a one-hour rest, OFP decreased after exercise and returned to baseline levels after a one-hour rest. Linear mixed models showed a significant difference between HIIT and MICT in fibrinogen (p 0.043) and D-dimer (p 0.042). Our study has shown that an exercise bout is associated with a transient procoagulant state in patients with CAD, with similar exercise-induced haemostatic changes for HIIT and MICT.

Abstract
Background Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a common genetic cardiac disorder characterized by the hypertrophy of a segment of the myocardium. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has been widely used in the assessment of HCM. However, no bibliometric assessment has been conducted on the progress of research in this field. This study thus aimed to examine the current state of research into the application of CMR in HCM and the hotspots and trends that have emerged in this field over the past decade. Methods A systematic search was conducted on the Web of Science regarding CMR in the assessment of HCM. The databases were searched from 2013 to June 2023. CiteSpace is an application that can be used to characterize the underlying knowledge of the scientific literature in a given field. We used it to analyze the relationship between publication year and country, institution, journal, author, bibliography, and keywords in the field of CMR for the assessment of HCM. Results A total of 1,427 articles were included in the analysis. In the assessment of HCM, the findings from the past decade have consistently demonstrated a progressive rise in the quantity of articles pertaining to CMR. The country with the largest number of publications was the United States [310], and the institution with the greatest number of publications was the University College London [45]. The analysis of keywords revealed the diagnosis and management of HCM with CMR to be the current research focus and emerging trend within this academic field. Conclusions This study used a novel approach to visually analyze the use of CMR in HCM assessment. The current research trajectory in CMR consists of the diagnosis and management of patients with HCM. Although most studies confirmed the indispensability of CMR in the assessment of HCM, larger-scale cohorts are still needed to more comprehensively evaluate the role of CMR in the differential diagnosis, pre- and post-treatment assessment, and long-term management of patients with HCM.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the rate of registered protocols published as research papers as a measure of publication bias, and the concordance rates of the primary outcomes between research protocol and published papers as a measure of selective outcome reporting bias in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) related to rehabilitation. DATA SOURCES Protocols related to RCTs were extracted from electronic databases, the University Hospital Medical Information Network (UMIN), International Standard Research Clinical Trial Number (ISRCTN), ClinicalTrials.gov, and MEDLINE. Published papers were retrieved from MEDLINE. STUDY SELECTION The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) initial registration (UMIN, ISRCTN, ClinicalTrials.gov) within the designated period; (2) published as a paper from a research protocol in MEDLINE (PubMed); and (3) written in English or Japanese. The search period was from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2020. DATA EXTRACTION The outcome of this study was set as the rate of published papers that were consistent with the extracted research protocol and the concordance rate between the primary outcomes in published papers and in protocols. The concordance rate of the primary outcomes was evaluated by checking whether the description in the research protocol matched that in the paper's abstract and main text. DATA SYNTHESIS Out of the 5597 research protocols registered, only 727 were published (13.0%). The concordance rates of the primary outcomes were 48.7% and 72.6% in the abstract and main text, respectively. CONCLUSIONS This study revealed major discrepancies between the number of research protocols and published papers, and difference of description regarding the primary outcomes in published papers which were already defined in the research protocols.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Perioperative rehabilitation (PORT) has shown a positive effect on patients undergoing cardiac surgery. However, there are minimal data on the impact of short-term PORT in cardiac surgery, which is associated with higher postoperative morbidity and mortality. The trial will assess the efficacy of short-term PORT in reducing in-hospital mortality, postoperative pulmonary complications and length of stay, compared with the usual care in cardiac surgical patients. METHODS AND ANALYSIS This is a single-centre prospective, randomised, open, controlled trial with a 1:1 ratio. Consecutive 800 adult patients undergoing elective valve surgery will be randomised to either usual care or in-hospital short-term PORT that consists of education, inspiratory muscle training, active cycle of breathing techniques and early mobilisation. The primary outcome of this study will be a composite of in-hospital all-cause mortality, incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications and the ratio of postoperative hospitalisation >7 days. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION The PORT study was granted by the Medical Research Ethics Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital in August 2018. Findings will be disseminated to patients, clinicians and commissioning groups through peer-reviewed publication. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER NCT03709511.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Since its initial report by James Parkinson in 1817, Parkinson's disease (PD) has remained a central subject of research and clinical advancement. The disease is estimated to affect approximately 1% of adults aged 60 and above. Deep brain stimulation, emerging as an alternative therapy for end-stage cases, has offered a lifeline to numerous patients. This review aimed to analyze publications pertaining to the impact of deep brain stimulation on the motor pathway in patients with PD over the last decade. METHODS Data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection through the library of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China). The search strategy encompassed the following keywords: "deep brain stimulation", "Parkinson's disease", "motor pathway", and "human", from January 1, 2012, to December 1, 2022. Additionally, this review visualized the findings using the Citespace software. RESULTS The results indicated that the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and China were the primary contributors to this research field. University College London, Capital Medical University, and Maastricht University were the top 3 research institutions in the research area. Tom Foltynie ranked first with 6 publications, and the journals of Brain and Brain Stimulation published the greatest number of relevant articles. The prevailing research focal points in this domain, as determined by keywords "burst analysis", "encompassed neuronal activity", "nucleus", "hyper direct pathway", etc. CONCLUSION: This study has provided a new perspective through bibliometric analysis of the deep brain stimulation therapy for treating patients with PD, which can shed light on future research to advance our comprehension of this particular field of study.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Recent studies have found that cardiomyocyte apoptosis is closely associated with the pathophysiological development of various cardiovascular diseases, for example chronic heart failure and myocardial infarction. At present, there are many researches in this field, such as pharmacological research, traditional Chinese medicine intervention research and pathway research. However, the relevant research is fragmented, with few comprehensive analysis and systematic combing. METHODS The relevant literature on cardiomyocyte apoptosis was downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and PubMed databases. Citespace 6.1.R2 software Microsoft Excel 2019 and VOSviewer1.6.18.0 were used for bibliometric and visual analysis of publication volume, countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords. RESULTS Since 1996, there are 1881 research articles and reviews related to cardiomyocyte apoptosis published by 10,313 researchers from 1648 institutions in 58 countries or regions were included. The number of annual publications showed an upward trend, especially in recent years. Countries participating in this research area include China, the United States, and Japan. Capital Medical University, Harbin Medical University are the key research institution, and other institutions also have substantial contribution on the project as to cardiomyocyte apoptosis. The journal EUR REV MED PHARMACO has a large number of publications, whereas CIRCULATION has the highest number of co-citations. Keywords analysis showed that apoptosis, expression and oxidative stress had higher frequencies, leading to 8 clusters. CONCLUSIONS Cardiomyocyte apoptosis is a hot research field in recent years. Through visualization and bibliometric analysis, it is found that this field focus on hotspots like clinical manifestations including heart failure or myocardial infarction, and microscopic mechanisms such as oxidative stress and inflammation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Inspiratory muscle training (IMT) aims to train inspiratory muscles based mainly on the diaphragm by applying a load resistance during the inspiratory process. Many papers related to IMT have been published in various journals; however, no articles objectively and directly present the development trends and research hotspots of IMT. Therefore, this study used CiteSpace to visually analyze recent IMT-related publications to provide valuable information for future IMT-related studies. MATERIAL AND METHODS CiteSpace was applied to analyze the IMT-related publications by countries, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords. RESULTS We included 504 papers. The number of IMT-related publications trended upward between 2009 and 2022. Leuven had the highest number of publications by an institution. The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine was the most frequently co-cited journal. Half of the top 10 references cited were from Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Q1 and half were about the application of IMT in chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. Gosselink was the author with the highest number of publications and Aldrich was the author with the highest co-citation frequency. The preponderance of studies on the surgical population and postoperative pulmonary complications reflects potential application of IMT in enhanced recovery after surgery. CONCLUSIONS This study provides scholars with important information related to IMT research. It analyzes IMT research trends and status, which can help researchers identify primary topics in the field and find ways to explore new research directions to promote the application of IMT in clinical practice and the cooperation of IMT-related disciplines.

Abstract
PURPOSE Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) improves clinical outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease (CDV). Patients with CVD often have multiple comorbidities, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), potentially affecting their ability to participate and achieve functional improvement during CR. We aimed to test the hypothesis that OSA reduces peak exercise capacity (EC) in patients undergoing CR and to explore if OSA treatment modifies this relationship. METHODS Data from a retrospective cohort of CR patients was analyzed. OSA was defined as a respiratory event index > 5/h or physician diagnosis. Patients with OSA were considered "treated" if using continuous positive airway pressure regularly during the CR period. Change in METs was the primary study outcome. RESULTS Among 312 CR patients, median age of 67 years, 103 (33%) had known OSA (30 treated, 73 untreated). Patients with OSA vs. those with no OSA were more likely to be obese and male; otherwise, groups were similar. Compared with the no OSA group, patients with OSA had lower pre-CR METs (3.3 [2.9-4.5] vs. 3.9 [3.1-5], P = .01) and lower post-CR METs (5.3 [4-7] vs. 6 [4.6-7.6], P = .04), but achieved a similar increase in METs post-CR (1.8 [0.6-2.6] vs. 2.0 [0.9-3], P = .22). Furthermore, compared to no OSA, pre-CR and post-CR METs tended to be similar in patients with treated OSA, but lower in untreated patients, with similar increases in METs across all groups, even when adjusting for covariates via multivariable regression. CONCLUSION OSA is prevalent in patients with CVD undergoing CR. CR substantially improves exercise capacity independent of OSA status, but screening for-and treatment of-OSA may improve the absolute exercise capacity achieved through CR.

Abstract
Background Heart failure is a common cardiovascular disease that imposes a heavy clinical and economic burden worldwide. Previous research and guidelines have supported exercise training as a safe, effective, and cost-efficient treatment to intervene in heart failure. The aim of this study was to analyze the global published literature in the field of exercise training for heart failure from 2002 to 2022, and to identify hot spots and frontiers within this research field. Methods Bibliometric information on literature on the topic of exercise training for heart failure published between 2002 and 2022 was searched and collected in the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace 6.1.R6 (Basic) and VOSviewer (1.6.18) were applied to perform bibliometric and knowledge mapping visualization analyses. Results A total of 2017 documents were retrieved, with an upward-stable trend in the field of exercise training for heart failure. The US authors were in the first place with 667 documents (33.07%), followed by Brazilian authors (248, 12.30%) and Italian authors (182, 9.02%). The Universidade de São Paulo in Brazil was the institution with the highest number of publications (130, 6.45%). The top 5 active authors were all from the USA, with Christopher Michael O'Connor and William Erle Kraus publishing the most documents (51, 2.53%). The International Journal of Cardiology (83, 4.12%) and the Journal of Applied Physiology (78, 3.87%) were the two most popular journals, while Cardiac Cardiovascular Systems (983, 48.74%) and Physiology (299, 14.82%) were the two most popular categories. Based on the results of keyword co-occurrence network and co-cited reference network, the hot spots and frontiers of research in the field of exercise training for heart failure were high-intensity interval training, behaviour therapy, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, and systematic reviews. Conclusion The field of exercise training for heart failure has experienced two decades of steady and rapid development, and the findings of this bibliometric analysis provide ideas and references for relevant stakeholders such as subsequent researchers for further exploration.

Abstract
BACKGROUND NETosis is a critical innate immune mechanism of neutrophils that contributes to the accelerated progression of autoimmune diseases, thrombosis, cancer, and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed the relevant literature by bibliometric methods in order to provide a more comprehensive and objective view of the knowledge dynamics in the field. METHODS The literature on NETosis was downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection, analyzed with VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Microsoft for co-authorship, co-occurrence, and co-citation analysis. RESULTS In the field of NETosis, the United States was the most influential countries. Harvard University was the most active institutions. Mariana J. Kaplan and Brinkmann V were, respectively, the most prolific and most co-cited authors. Frontiers in Immunology, Journal of Immunology, Plos One, Blood, Science, Journal of Cell Biology, and Nature Medicine were the most influential journals. The top 15 keywords are associated with immunological and NETosis formation mechanisms. The keywords with the strongest burst detection were mainly related to COVID-19 (coronavirus, ACE2, SARS coronavirus, cytokine storm, pneumonia, neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio), and cancer (circulating tumor cell). CONCLUSION Research on NETosis is currently booming. The mechanism of NETosis and its role in innate immunity, autoimmune diseases, especially systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, and thrombosis are the focus of research in the field of NETosis. A future study will concentrate on the function of NETosis in COVID-19 and recurrent metastasis of cancer.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to analyze and visualize the current research focus, research frontiers, evolutionary processes, and trends of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of gastric cancer using a bibliometric analysis. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection database was selected as the data source for this study to retrieve and obtain articles and reviews related to AI in gastric cancer. All the information extracted from the articles was imported to CiteSpace to conduct the bibliometric and knowledge map analysis, allowing us to clearly visualize the research hotspots and trends in this field. Results A total of 183 articles published between 2017 and 2022 were included, contributed by 201 authors from 33 countries/regions. Among them, China (47.54%), Japan (21.86%), and the USA (13.11%) have made outstanding contributions in this field, accounting fsor 82.51% of the total publications. The primary research institutions were Wuhan University, Tokyo University, and Tada Tomohiro Inst Gastroenterol and Proctol. Tada (n = 12) and Hirasawa (n = 90) were ranked first in the top 10 authors and co-cited authors, respectively. Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (21 publications; IF 2022, 9.189; Q1) was the most published journal, while Gastric Cancer (133 citations; IF 2022, 8.171; Q1) was the most co-cited journal. Nevertheless, the cooperation between different countries and institutions should be further strengthened. The most common keywords were AI, gastric cancer, and convolutional neural network. The "deep-learning algorithm" started to burst in 2020 and continues till now, which indicated that this research topic has attracted continuous attention in recent years and would be the trend of research on AI application in GC. Conclusions Research related to AI in gastric cancer is increasing exponentially. Current research hotspots focus on the application of AI in gastric cancer, represented by convolutional neural networks and deep learning, in diagnosis and differential diagnosis and staging. Considering the great potential and clinical application prospects, the related area of AI applications in gastric cancer will remain a research hotspot in the future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although a large number of studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of cardiac rehabilitation(CR), patient preferences for CR remain unclear. Knowing patient preferences may contribute to increasing patient participation and adherence, thus improving patient prognosis. METHODS A systematic search was carried out using electronic databases and manual reference checks from inception until 15th June 2022. Quantitative studies, qualitative studies and mixed methods studies assessing patient preferences for CR were included. Two researchers independently conducted study selectionand data extraction. CR preferences were divided into three categories: CR settings, CR components, and CR contents. A narrative synthesis was applied to integrate the results of the included studies. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) was used to assess the quality of included studies. RESULTS Ultimately, 17 publications were included in this study. Regarding CR settings, most patients preferred the hospital to home, some considered both, and a few were willing to accept the local CR club as an alternative setting to the hospital. For CR components, regardless of age and gender, patients considered exercise training and nutrition counseling to be the most important and smoking cessation to be the least important. In exercise intervention of CR contents, progress discussion and encouragement were rated as most critical, and non-conflicting with other activities was rated as least critical. In psychological intervention of CR contents, most patients were willing to accept psychological intervention, and a few patients wanted to heal the trauma with the passage of time. CONCLUSION This systematic review provides important insights into patient preferences for CR, clarifying patient preferences for CR settings, components, and contents, along with possible influencing factors. Patient preferences may change due to the COVID-19 epidemic, and there is still a need to focus on patient preferences for CR and conduct more relevant primary research to validate the findings of this paper in the future.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: Cardiovascular disease is a long-term threat to global public health security, while sedentary behavior is a modifiable behavior among cardiovascular risk factors. This study aimed to analyze the peer-reviewed literature published globally on sedentary behavior and cardiovascular disease (SB-CVD) and identify the hotspots and frontiers within this research area. Materials and Methods: Publications on SB-CVD from 1990 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were applied to perform bibliometric and knowledge mapping visualization analyses. Results: A total of 2071 publications were retrieved, presenting a gradual growing trend. Authors from the USA topped the list with 748 (36.12%), followed by authors from England (373, 18.01%) and Australia (354, 17.09%). The University of Queensland, Australia, led with 95 (4.5%) publications. The top five active authors were all from Australia, while Dunstan D and Owen N published the most documents (56, 2.7%). A total of 71.27% of the publications received funding, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services provided 363 (17.53%) grants. Public Environmental Occupational Health (498, 24.05%), Sport Sciences (237, 11.44%), and Cardiac Cardiovascular Systems (212, 10.24%) were the three most popular disciplines, while PLOS One (96, 4.64%) and BMC Public Health (88, 4.25%) were the two most popular journals. Investigations within the SB-CVD research area addressed the entire lifespan, the most popular type of research was the epidemiological study, and the accelerometer was the primary instrument for measuring sedentary behavior. In terms of variables, physical activity and sedentary behavior were the dominant lifestyle behaviors, while obesity and hypertension were common health problems. Occupational physical activity and guidelines are at the frontier and are currently in the burst stage. Conclusions: The last three decades have witnessed the rapid development of the SB-CVD research area, and this study provided further research ideas for subsequent investigations.

Abstract
Background Ferroptosis has been widely investigated as an emerging drug target, while its combination with nanoscience provides bourgeoning application prospects. The development of ferroptosis regulating nanomedicines have attracted worldwide attentions in recent years. It would be meaningful to describe the relevant publication paradigm. Methods Herein, a bibliometric analysis was performed using the database of Web of Science Core Collection to clarify the publication paradigm. The development of related publications in the last 6 years was described, and the revolutionary trends were figured out. Ultimately, the possible future exploration directions were proposed. Results The bibliometric analysis of 327 documents of interest indicated that the main research focus was in multiple fields including Materials science, Science & technology, Chemistry, and Pharmacology & pharmacy. With widely cooperation and strong funding, the researchers from Chinese organizations contributed most of publications, followed with United States and Australia. Cocitation analysis revealed that several original papers reported the key molecular mechanisms of ferroptosis were considered as the foundation for subsequent studies, and some nanomedicines-related documents were taken as examples and discussed. Mining results showed that the mechanism evaluation of ferroptosis regulation therapy for cancer treatment was the hotspot. Then, several possible future explorations of ferroptosis-related nanoscience were presented and discussed. Conclusions The bibliometric profile of nanoscience-ferroptosis research was analyzed in detail. We believe that the bibliometric analysis could act as a robust method for explicating the publication paradigm as a certain field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND DNA methylation is a dynamically reversible form of epigenetics. Dynamic regulation plays an important role in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). However, there have been few bibliometric studies in this field. We aimed to visualize the research results and hotspots of DNA methylation in CVDs using a bibliometric analysis to provide a scientific direction for future research. METHODS Publications related to DNA methylation in CVDs from January 1, 2001, to September 15, 2021, were searched and confirmed from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace 5.7 and VOSviewer 1.6.15 were used for bibliometric and knowledge-map analyses. RESULTS A total of 2617 publications were included in 912 academic journals by 15,584 authors from 963 institutions from 85 countries/regions. Among them, the United States of America, China, and England were the top 3 countries contributing to the field of DNA methylation. Harvard University, Columbia University, and University of Cambridge were the top 3 contributing institutions in terms of publications and were closely linked. PLoS One was the most published and co-cited journal. Baccarelli Andrea A published the most content, while Barker DJP had the highest frequency of co-citations. The keyword cluster focused on the mechanism, methyl-containing substance, exposure/risk factor, and biomarker. In terms of research hotspots, references with strong bursts, which are still ongoing, recently included "epigenetic clock" (2017-2021), "obesity, smoking, aging, and DNA methylation" (2017-2021), and "biomarker and epigenome-wide association study" (2019-2021). CONCLUSIONS We used bibliometric and visual methods to identify research hotspots and trends in DNA methylation in CVDs. Epigenetic clocks, biomarkers, environmental exposure, and lifestyle may become the focus and frontier of future research.

Abstract
Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is a complex polymorphic lipoprotein comprised of a low-density lipoprotein particle with one molecule of apolipoprotein B100 and an additional apolipoprotein(a) connected through a disulfide bond. The serum concentration is mostly genetically determined and only modestly influenced by diet and other lifestyle modifications. In recent years it has garnered increasing attention due to its causal role in pre-mature atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and calcific aortic valve stenosis, while novel effective therapeutic options are emerging [apolipoprotein(a) antisense oligonucleotides and ribonucleic acid interference therapy]. Bibliometric descriptive analysis and mapping of the research literature were made using Scopus built-in services. We focused on the distribution of documents, literature production dynamics, most prolific source titles, institutions, and countries. Additionally, we identified historical and influential papers using Reference Publication Year Spectrography (RPYS) and the CRExplorer software. An analysis of author keywords showed that Lp(a) was most intensively studied regarding inflammation, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular risk assessment, treatment options, and hormonal changes in post-menopausal women. The results provide a comprehensive view of the current Lp(a)-related literature with a specific interest in its role in calcific aortic valve stenosis and potential emerging pharmacological interventions. It will help the reader understand broader aspects of Lp(a) research and its translation into clinical practice.

Abstract
Aims A negative association between the lower level of psychological resilience (PR) and increased risk of compassion fatigue (CF) and higher Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) stress has been revealed. However, bibliometric studies have not been performed to comprehensively investigate this topic. This study aimed to identify the status and trends in the CF and PR field from 2008 to 2021 and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods We identified relevant literature from the Web of Science Core Collection® database using "resilience" and "compassion fatigue" on September 30, 2021. All search results were exported in plain text format for collaboration network analysis, reference-based co-citation analysis, analysis of journals, and keywords-based co-occurrence analysis, which were performed using Citespace® 5.8.R1. Results A total of 388 publications were identified finally, and there has been an increasing trend in the annual number of publications with light fluctuations. The analysis of journals and keywords indicated that nurses and social workers are the main research targets, and their mental problems are the main research topics. The turnover intention of health care providers has been a research focus, particularly during the COVID-19. Conclusion The results of the present study help us understand the status of the CF and PR field and its recent developments.

Abstract
Background Pain is a common complication after stroke with a high incidence and mortality rate. Many studies in the field of pain after stroke have been published in various journals. However, bibliometric analysis in the domain of pain after stroke is still lacking. This study aimed to deliver a visual analysis to analyze the global trends in research on the comorbidity of pain after stroke in the last 12 years. Methods The publications from the Web of Science (WoS) in the last 12 years (from 2010 to 2021) were collected and retrieved. CiteSpace software was used to analyze the relationship of publication year with countries, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords. Results A total of 322 publications were included in the analysis. A continuous but unstable growth in the number of articles published on pain after stroke was observed over the last 12 years. The Peoples' R China (65), Chang Gung University (10), and Topic in Stroke Rehabilitation (16) were the country, institution, and journal with the highest number of publications, respectively. Analysis of keywords showed that shoulder pain after stroke and central post-stroke pain were the research development trends and focus in this research field. Conclusion This study provides a visual analysis method for the trend and frontiers of pain research after stroke. In the future, large sample, randomized controlled trials are needed to identify the potential treatments and pathophysiology for pain after stroke.

Abstract
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has become a huge challenge for the global public health system due to its high morbidity, mortality and severe economic burden. In recent years, angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI), a new class of drugs, has shown good therapeutic effects on CVD patients in several clinical studies, reducing the morbidity and mortality of CVD patients. In this study, we retrieved publications on ARNI research in the cardiovascular field from the Web of Science core collection and analyzed the annual output, spatial and temporal distribution, institutions and authors, core journals, keywords and co-cited literature based on CiteSpace. As a result, 604 publications were retrieved, and the number of annual publications generally increased year by year, with the largest number of articles. The analysis of the co-occurrence of output countries and authors showed that a few developed countries such as the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom are the most active in this field, forming academic groups represented by John Joseph Valentine McMurray and Scott D. Solomon, and New England Journal of Medicine, Cirulation, and Journal of the American College of Cardiology are the most popular journals in the field, with research hotspots focused on ARNI in the treatment of total ejection fraction heart failure, hypertension and its target organ damage, with the potential for future benefit throughout the cardiovascular event chain as research progresses. This study reveals the prospective application of ARNI in the cardiovascular field and the research hotspots, providing broader and deeper guidance for its use in the clinic, which is beneficial to improve the treatment and prognosis of CVD patients.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to gain insight into the progress and dynamics of psycho-cardiological disease research and track its hot spots. We have analyzed psycho-cardiological disease-related literature extracted from the Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection from 2001 to 2021 with the help of Cite Space. As a result, we have included 5,032 records. Then, we have analyzed connected networks for the country, author, subject category, keywords, and cited reference. We have summarized the findings in four aspects. First, the annual quantitative distribution of publications is on the rise, although there is a slight drop. Second, in terms of country analysis, the United States, England, Australia, Germany, and Italy are the main research forces in psycho-cardiological diseases. At the same time, several academic entities represented by Andrew Steptoe and Roland von Känel, MD, have been formed based on the early consciousness of physical and mental health in these countries. Besides, China is also more concerned about it due to the rapid population aging process and the largest population. Third, the psycho-cardiological disease is multidisciplinary, including psychology, psychiatry, clinical medicine, such as cardiovascular system and neurology, public environmental and occupational health, and pharmacology. Finally, the results of keyword analysis and co-cited references indicate the hot spots and frontiers in psycho-cardiological disease. The hot spots in psycho-cardiological disease include three aspects. The first aspect includes psychosocial factors, such as depression, lack of social support, and low economic and social status; the second aspect includes priority populations, such as Alzheimer's disease dementia caregivers, elderly, and patients with cancer, and the third aspect includes interventions, such as exercise therapy and diet. In addition, there are three future research frontiers. The first is a psycho-cardiological disease in patients with COVID-19; the second is cardiac rehabilitation, especially exercise therapy and health behavior evaluation; and the final is evidence-based medical evaluation, such as systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As the rapidly aging population and the rising incidence of end-stage heart failure (HF), extensive research has been conducted on heart transplantation (HTx). Bibliometrics harbors the function for describing the relationships of knowledge structures in different research fields and predicting the growth trend . METHODS The publications were searched and filtered based on the WOS core database. The target literature was visualized and analyzed by CiteSpace or VOSviewer . RESULTS In total, 19,998 published papers were obtained. There is a wave-like growth in HTx development. Most advanced research results are concentrated in a few developed countries, while the interactions with developing countries are still in infancy. The United States occupies a strong dominant position among active countries on HTx. Early research hotpots mostly focused on primary disease, survival risk factors, and complications. In recent years, the research frontiers have shifted steadily to clinical evaluation of immunosuppressants and diagnosis of acute rejection, cardiac re-injury with COVID-19, innovations in ventricular assist devices(VAD), and donation allocation strategies. The research directions of HTx are gradually shifting from observational studies to intervention research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) comprises about 50% of the cases of heart failure (HF), but so far there is no effective treatment strategy. This study used bibliometric methods to analyze the scientific literature on HFpEF in 2009 to 2020, and evaluate the global scientific output of HFpEF research, in order to explore the research status and trends in this field. METHODS Documents about the HFpEF research published in 2009 to 2020 were retrieved from Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) in Web of Science. This study used bibliometrix R-package, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace to conduct the bibliometric analysis. RESULTS A total of 1971 documents (1508 articles and 283 reviews) were retrieved to construct the local HFpEF literature collection for analysis. The number of annual documents had increased year by year in general, from 24 to 353. Relevant documents were mainly written in English, and mostly focused on the field of "Cardiovascular System Cardiology." USA ranked first in the relevant countries/regions with most documents, and the leading affiliation was Mayo Clin. Shah SJ was the most productive author, while Borlaug BA ranked highest among the local cited authors and G-index. Circulation was the most local cited source, while Eur J Heart Fail published the most documents and was rated as the top source in terms of G-index. "Paulus WJ, 2013, J Am Coll Cardiol" was the top local cited document within the local HFpEF literature collection, while "Owan TE, 2006, New Engl J Med" outside the local HFpEF literature collection was the most local cited reference. The keywords such as "mortality," "dysfunction," "diagnosis," "outcomes," and "diastolic dysfunction" were most frequent, while "hemodynamics," "comorbidity," "myocardial infarction," "inflammation," and "phenotype" indicated research frontiers or emerging trends. Furthermore, this study also found some deeper bibliometric relationships through bibliographic networks. CONCLUSIONS Due to the multi-dimensional bibliometric analysis, this study shows a wide view of scientific productivity related to HFpEF, and provides valuable guidance for researchers interested in HFpEF, assisting them in understanding the research status, identifying potential collaborators, discovering research hotspots and frontiers, and conducting more in-depth research.
