Abstract
BACKGROUND Short sleep can lead to an increase in inflammation and regular exercise has been shown to have a mitigation effect. However, the association between physical exercise (PE) and inflammation in the short sleep population is an unknown and intriguing issue. METHODS NHANES dataset spanning the years 2007 to 2018 were analyzed. To investigate the relationship mentioned above, we carried out multivariate linear regression models controlling for sociodemographic and lifestyles factors. The systemic immune inflammation index (SII) served as a reflection of inflammatory potential, calculated as the product of platelet count, neutrophil count, and divided by the lymphocyte count. Self-reported questionnaires were used to collect sleep and exercise information. RESULTS A total of 14,664 participants were included for final analysis. Across the three models, PE showed significant negative associations with SII as a continuous variable [Crude Model, β (95% CI): -1.261(-1.600, -0.922), p < 0.001; Model 1, β (95% CI): -1.005(-1.344, -0.666), p < 0.001; Model 2, β (95% CI): -0.470(-0.827, -0.112), p = 0.011]. The consistent nature of the findings persisted when investigating physical exercise (PE) as a categorized variable. By two-piecewise linear regression model, we calculated a saturation effect of PE with the inflection point as 2400 MET-minutes/week. CONCLUSION This study suggested that performing no more than 2400 MET-minutes/week of PE was associated with lower SII levels in the short sleep population, while more PE might not bring additional benefits.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Our study aims to examine the independent and combined associations of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] concentrations and physical activity (PA) status with phenotypic age (PhenoAge). METHOD The analysis included 18,738 participants from the NHANES 2007-2010 & 2015-2018. Phenotypic Age Acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel) was calculated as the residuals from regressing PhenoAge on chronological age. Weighted multivariable logistic regression models were used to analysis the relationship between 25(OH)D and PA with PhenoAgeAccel. Population attributable fraction (PAF) was used to estimate the proportion of PhenoAgeAccel which could be avoided if exposure were eliminated. RESULTS The multivariate-adjusted OR (95%CI) for PhenoAgeAccel with high 25(OH)D and adequate PA were 0.657 (0.549,0.787) (p < 0.001) for all, 0.663 (0.538,0.818) (p < 0.001) for participants whose age ≤65years old. Furthermore, there was multiplicative interaction between 25(OH)D and PA in age ≤65 years old group (0.729 (0.542,0.979), p = 0.036). High 25(OH)D level and adequate PA reduced the risk of PhenoAgeAccel by 14.3 % and 14.2 %, respectively. Notably, 30.7 % decrease was attributable to both high 25(OH)D level and engaging in adequate PA concurrently. Combining 25(OH)D above 80.4 nmol/l with PA decreased PhenoAge by 1.291 years (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION Higher 25(OH)D level was associated with lower risk of biological ageing. Combining 25(OH)D and PA demonstrated enhanced protective effects, especially in middle or young adults. These findings underscore the importance of outdoor PA in slowing down the aging process.

Abstract
Background The benefits of home enteral nutrition (HEN) are increasingly recognized, with more scholars focusing on this field. This study aimed to comprehensively identify collaborative networks, analyze, and track research trends, focus on current hotspots, and accurately predict the forefront and focus of home enteral nutrition. Methods A computer search of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was conducted for studies related to home enteral nutrition published from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2023, and select them in compliance with the PRISMA guidelines. The CiteSpace software was used for bibliometric visualization and comparative analysis of countries, institutions, journals, references, and keywords. Results A total of 1,113 documents were included, showing a steady annual increase in publication volume. The United States and the Mayo Clinic were the top publishing country and institution, with 302 and 41 papers, respectively. "CLIN NUTR" had the highest number of publications, totaling 221, while "ESPEN guideline on home enteral nutrition" was the most cited reference, with 43 citations. The most prolific author was Manpreet S with 29 papers. Conclusion The management of HEN is a current research hotspot. The safety of HEN and how to improve patient compliance are critical areas for researchers to consider. Future research could focus on these aspects. The blurring of boundaries between hospital and home care and how to utilize telemedicine technologies to serve more patients deserve in-depth exploration. Researchers worldwide should combine their unique characteristics and advantages to strengthen international cooperation.

Abstract
Background The increasing utilization of endoscopic lumbar discectomy (ELD) in spinal surgery has sparked widespread interest and research. This study utilizes bibliometric analysis to identify current research trends and advancements in this innovative surgical technique, with the goal of informing and improving surgical practices. Methods We retrieved relevant literature on ELD from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded) within the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database as research samples. Various visualization tools, such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Scimago Graphica, Pajek, and online bibliometric platform, were employed to generate scientific knowledge maps for the purpose of visual presentation and data analysis. Results Over the past two decades, there has been significant progress in the research related to ELD, particularly since 2016. China has emerged as the most productive country, while South Korea and the United States have exerted greater academic influence. Tongji University has contributed the highest number of research output, while academic achievements published by Wooridul Spine Hospital are highly esteemed by scholars. Lee SH and Ruetten S are the most prolific author and the most highly cited author, respectively. World Neurosurg has published the highest number of publications, while Spine has become the most influential journal. Clinical Neurology and Surgery are the primary subject categories. Research in this field primarily revolves around improving ELD techniques, evaluating postoperative efficacy and prognosis prediction, studying complications and risk factors, as well as comparative research with other surgical techniques. Keywords such as risk factors, LDH, PETD, lumbar spinal stenosis, degeneration, recurrent herniation, laminectomy, local anesthesia, and foraminoplasty highlight the current research hotspots and future cutting-edge trends. Conclusion This study employed bibliometric analysis to elucidate the research hotspots and frontiers in ELD. The findings have significant implications for advancing research and development in this field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The concept of ergonomics in health services is attracting significant attention in the scientific community. There is a need for an integrated study presenting a summary of the published literature backed by detailed bibliometric characteristics. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to provide a summary of the published literature supported by detailed bibliometric properties. METHODS Within the scope of this study, a total of 3008 articles on ergonomics in the health field were reviewed and analyzed using a bibliometric method. RESULTS It reveals the trends of the publications conducted between 1999-2023, and defines the common citation structure between the articles, bibliographic coupling, and keyword co-occurrences. This study presents a knowledge map of ergonomics studies conducted in the health field using a bibliometric analysis method. CONCLUSION The research results provide comprehensive information to the relevant literature, and define global research focuses and future scopes. This serves as a guide for academics to understand developments in the field of ergonomics and health more easily and quickly.

Abstract
Background Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is commonly defined as a transitional subclinical state between normal aging and dementia. A growing body of research indicates that health behaviors may play a protective role against cognitive decline and could potentially slow down the progression from MCI to dementia. The aim of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of literature focusing on health behaviors and MCI to summarize the factors and evidence regarding the influence of health behaviors on MCI. Methods The study performed a bibliometric analysis by retrieving publications from the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index sub-databases within the Web of Science Core Collection. Utilizing VOSviewer and CiteSpace software, a total of 2,843 eligible articles underwent co-citation, co-keywords, and clustering analyses. This methodology aimed to investigate the current status, trends, major research questions, and potential future directions within the research domain. Results The bibliometric analysis indicates that research on healthy behaviors in individuals with MCI originated in 2002 and experienced rapid growth in 2014, reflecting the increasing global interest in this area. The United States emerged as the primary contributor, accounting for more than one-third of the total scientific output with 982 articles. Journals that published the most articles on MCI-related health behaviors included "Journal of Alzheimer's Disease," "Neurobiology of Aging," "Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience," and other geriatrics-related journals. High-impact papers identified by VOSviewer predominantly cover concepts related to MCI, such as diagnostic criteria, assessment, and multifactorial interventions. Co-occurrence keyword analysis highlights five research hotspots in health behavior associated with MCI: exercise, diet, risk factors and preventive measures for dementia, cognitive decline-related biomarkers, and clinical trials. Conclusion This study provides a comprehensive review of literature on health behavior in individuals with MCI, emphasizing influential documents and journals. It outlines research trends and key focal points, offering valuable insights for researchers to comprehend significant contributions and steer future studies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is characterized by repeated bouts of relatively intense exercise interspersed with recovery periods. Previous studies have evaluated this exercise strategy with various population subgroups, regimens, and comparator groups, limiting the generalizability of findings. We performed a novel umbrella review to generate an up-to-date synthesis of the available evidence regarding the effect of HIIT on cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in adults as compared to non-exercise control and traditional continuous forms of exercise such as moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT). METHODS An umbrella review was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Overviews of Reviews guideline. Seven databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Database, CINAHL, Scopus, SPORTDiscus, and Web of Science) were searched until February 2024. Systematic reviews with meta-analyses comparing HIIT and active/non-active control conditions were included. Literature search, data extraction, and methodological quality assessment (AMSTAR-2) were conducted independently by two reviewers. RESULTS Twenty-four systematic reviews with meta-analyses, representing 429 primary studies and 12 967 unique participants, met the inclusion criteria. Most of the systematic reviews received moderate-to-critically low AMSTAR-2 scores. The data showed that HIIT, including the particularly intense variant "sprint interval training" (SIT), significantly increases CRF in adults compared to non-exercise control (standardized mean difference [SMD]: 0.28 to 4.31; weighted mean difference [WMD]: 3.25 to 5.5 mL/kg/min) and MICT (SMD: 0.18 to 0.99; WMD: 0.52 to 3.76 mL/kg/min). This effect was consistently observed across specific groups of individuals (e.g., apparently healthy adults, individuals with overweight/obesity, older adults, and high-level athletes) and HIIT modalities (e.g., low-volume HIIT, whole-body HIIT, home-based HIIT, aquatic HIIT, and short SIT). CONCLUSION Existing evidence from systematic reviews consistently supports the effect of HIIT on enhancing CRF in adults when compared to non-exercise control and MICT. Our findings offer a comprehensive basis that may potentially contribute to informing physical activity guidelines aimed at improving CRF in the general population.

Abstract
Current research has shown promising associations between factors such as diet, total physical activity, and mental health outcomes, acknowledging the intricate interplay between these variables. However, the role of dietary intake of live microbes, coupled with leisure-time physical activity (LTPA), in their relationship to depressive symptoms necessitates further exploration. The present study examined a cohort of 25 747 individuals who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between the years 2007 and 2018. Patient's Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) was employed, whereby individuals scoring ≥ 10 were classified as exhibiting symptoms of depression. LTPA status was reported by the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire and calculated by metabolic equivalent-minutes/week. Foods consumed by participants were evaluated by live microbes per gram, which were categorized into three groups: low, medium, and high. After controlling for all covariates, findings indicated that LTPA was negatively associated with depressive symptoms (OR (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.983 (0.976, 0.990), p < 0.001). Participating in more LTPA was positively correlated with consuming all three levels of dietary live microbes (low, β (95% CI): 0.086 (0.063, 0.109); medium, β (95% CI): 0.009 (0.007, 0.012); high, β (95% CI): 0.002 (0.001, 0.002)). Moreover, taking more foods with medium live microbes was associated with lower depressive likelihood (OR (95% CI): 0.931(0.882, 0.982), p = 0.010). Intake of medium and high levels of live microbes mediated the association between LTPA and depressive symptoms by 4.15% and 0.83%, respectively. Dietary intake of foods containing medium and high levels of live microbes may be a mediator of LTPA's negative association with depressive symptoms.

Effects of high-intensity interval training on depressive and anxiety symptoms in healthy individuals: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials. Abstract
Although evidence regarding the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on mental health has increased in recent years, there is still no consensus regarding the effects of HIIT on the symptoms of depression and anxiety in a healthy population. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to investigate the effects of HIIT on depressive and/or anxiety symptoms in healthy individuals. The following four databases were searched: PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and PsycINFO. Only randomized clinical trials (RCTs) were included. We performed a random-effects meta-analysis based on standardized mean difference (SMD). The risk of bias was assessed using the RoB 2.0 tool, and the certainty of the evidence was evaluated based on recommendations GRADE. Eight RCTs evaluating 471 participants (81% female) were considered eligible for inclusion. The results of the meta-analysis showed that HIIT-based interventions had no significant effect on reducing anxiety (SMD = -0.17; 95% CI: -0.53, 0.19; p = 0.27) and depressive symptoms (SMD = -0.38; 95% CI: -1.06, 0.30; p = 0.17) compared with the passive control group. In conclusion, HIIT does not improve symptoms of depression and anxiety in healthy individuals. This finding is based on evidence of very low certainty. Therefore, the evidence is still not consistent enough to support HIIT as a viable strategy to reduce both outcomes because of the limited number of included studies and the overall quality of evidence.

Abstract
Background: During the past two decades, research on high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) in children and adolescents has steadily accumulated, especially on the subthemes of improving cardiometabolic and cardiovascular health. However, there is still little scientific understanding of using scientometric analysis to establish knowledge maps. Exploring the relationship between known and new emerging ideas and their potential value has theoretical and practical implications in the context of a researcher's limited ability to read, analyze, and synthesize all published works. Objective: First, this study aims to provide extensive information on HIIE research in children and adolescents, including authors, institutions, countries, journals, and references. Second, the objective is to use co-occurrence, burst, and co-citation analyses based on hybrid node types to reveal hotspots and forecast frontiers for HIIE research in children and adolescents. Methods: Using the bibliographic data of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) as the data source, publications, authors, and journals were analyzed with the help of bibliometric methods and visualization tools such as CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Pajek, and Bibliometrix R package. Authorial, institutional, and national collaboration networks were plotted, along with research hotspots and research frontiers based on keyword bursts and document co-citations. Results: This study found that executive function, high-intensity interval training, heart rate variability, and insulin resistance are emerging research topics; high-intensity training, mental health, exercise intensity, and cardiometabolic risk factors are continual frontier research areas in the subthemes. Conclusion: Our study has three novel contributions. First, it explicitly and directly reflects the research history and current situation of the HIIE intervention strategy in children and adolescents. This approach makes it clear and easy to trace the origin and development of this strategy in specific groups of children and adolescents. Second, it analyzes the research hotspots of HIIE in the field and predicts the research frontiers and development trends, which will help researchers get a deeper understanding of HIIE and pediatric health research. Third, the findings will enable researchers to pinpoint the most influential scholars, institutions, journals, and references in the field, increasing the possibility of future collaborations between authors, institutions, and countries.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the association between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and chronic inflammation in short sleep adults. The study included 2,113 NHANES participants with self-reported insufficient sleep. C-reactive protein (CRP) was used as the inflammatory biomarker. Physical activity and sedentary behaviour were objectively measured by accelerometers. Weighted regression model, two - piecewise linear regression model, and restricted cubic splines were applied to evaluate associations mentioned above. An isotemporal substitution model was used to assess the modelled effects of replacing sedentary time (ST) with moderate-to-vigorous levels of physical activity (MVPA) or light physical activity (LPA). After adjusting for potential confounding factors, higher levels of ST and lower levels of LPA or MVPA were associated with higher CRP levels. Isotemporal substitution analysis indicated that replacing 30 minutes of ST with 30 minutes of MVPA was associated with a significant decrease in CRP levels. Saturation analysis suggested that the association between MVPA and CRP may plateau at over 20 minutes of MVPA per day. Findings of this study provides insight into the potential benefits of replacing ST with MVPA. This study also suggests that increasing MVPA beyond a certain point may not provide additional anti-inflammatory benefits in a short sleep population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The main subtypes of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs)-polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM)-are often presented as interstitial lung disease (ILD) in clinical practice; therefore, many researchers have combined the three studies into PM/DM with ILD. METHODS Using bibliometrics, the research status, progress, and hotspots of PM/DM with ILD between 2000 and 2022 were studied. Literature data on PM/DM with ILD were retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) database for the research period. Visualization software, including VOSviewer, Pajek, CiteSpace, and Scimago Graphica were used for bibliometric analysis. RESULTS A total of 1555 relevant articles were obtained, and the overall research in this field showed an increasing trend. Regarding contributing countries and venues, Japan published the most articles while Rheumatology was the most prolific journal. Regarding authors, the most published article was by Wang Guochun from Changchun University of Technology in China. Keyword analysis and cocited literature cluster analysis showed that diagnosis, classification, autoantibodies, antibodies, prognosis, complications, and treatment of PM/DM with ILD have been hot topics in this field recently. Moreover, our study shows that anti-mda5 antibody, mortality, gene 5 antibody, IIMs, double-blind, and prognostic factors, among others, may be new hot topics. CONCLUSION This study found that research on PM/DM with ILD has increased over time, and scholars are paying more attention to this field. The development of new drugs for the management, treatment, and prevention of PM/DM with ILD is the primary task of researchers and a direction for future research in this field.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To identify and visualize studies on pressure injuries in intensive care units, prevention of pressure injuries and measurement tools, and reveal the global trends in this field. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY/DESIGN Descriptive and bibliometric analysis method study. SETTING Data were obtained from the "Web of Science Core Collection" database on July 12th, 2023. For bibliometric data, the Web of Science database was searched with the keywords "intensive care unit," "pressure injury," "prevention," "risk assessment tools," and critical care." Performance analysis, scientific mapping, and bibliometric analyses were completed using the VOSviewer (1.6.15) software program for a total of 326 publications. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Publication, cluster, link and network map on pressure injury, prevention and risk measurement tools. RESULTS As a result of the analysis, the most used keywords were "pressure injury," "pressure ulcer," "critical care," "pressure ulcers," "intensive care unit," and "pressure injuries." The journal with the highest number of publications (n = 55) was "Journal of Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing", the highest number of articles (n = 47) was published in 2022, the most active institution was "Queensland University of Technology Qut" (20 articles), the country that published the most was the United States of America (171 articles), the institution that provided the most funding was the "National Institutes of Health NIH USA" (20 articles), and Cox J. was the author who published the most articles. CONCLUSION This study highlights popular fields of research in pressure injury prevention and risk measurement tools aimed at improving quality of care in intensive care units. IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE The bibliometric analysis method used in the study can lead nurses to conduct research to prevent pressure injuries in critical care patients and develop risk measurement tools to overcome deficiencies such as prevention tools and objective risk measurement tools in this field.

Abstract
Background Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a common neurodegenerative disorder that poses a risk of progression to dementia. There is growing research interest in body-mind exercise (BME) for patients with MCI. While we have observed a rapid growth in interest in BME for MCI over the past 10 years, no bibliometric analysis has investigated the knowledge structure and research trends in this field. Consequently, the objective of this research is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of global publications of BME for MCI from 2013 to 2022. Methods A total of 242 publications in the field of BME for MCI were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Bibliometric analysis, including performance analysis, science mapping, and visualization, was performed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Microsoft Excel. Results Publications and citations in the field of BME for MCI have shown a rapidly increasing trend over the last decade. Geriatrics & Gerontology, and Neurosciences were the most frequently involved research categories. China (78 documents) and the USA (75 documents) contributed to the largest number of publications and had the strongest international collaborative networks. Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine contributed to the largest number of publications (12 documents), and Chen, L of this institution was the most prolific author (12 documents). Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience (16 documents), and JOURNAL OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE (12 documents) were the most prolific journals. Tai Chi and Baduanjin, as specific types of BME, were the hotspots of research in this field, while evidence synthesis and guidelines might be future research trends. Conclusion In the last decade, there has been a rapid growth in scientific activities in the field of BME for MCI. The results of this study provide researchers and other stakeholders with knowledge structure, hotspots, and future research trends in this field.

Abstract
Purpose The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between education level and health behavior including sleep, work activity, exercise activity, and sedentary behavior among emerging adults. Methods This study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) collected between 2007 and 2018. The study sample included 4,484 emerging adults aged 18-25 years and the weighted participants were 30,057,813. Weighted multivariable regression analysis was performed to investigate the association between education level and the aforementioned health behavior, adjusting for age, gender, race/ethnicity, marital status, poverty-income ratio, BMI, smoking, and alcohol drinking status. Results This study revealed that higher education level was associated with shorter sleep duration [Fully adjusted model, β (95% CI): -0.588 (-0.929, -0.246), p < 0.001]. Additionally, those with higher education levels were more likely to allocate time in sedentary behavior [β (95% CI): 90.162 (41.087, 139.238), p < 0.001]. Moreover, higher education level was related to less work activity [β (95% CI): -806.991 (-1,500.280, -113.703), p = 0.023] and more exercise activity time [β (95% CI): 118.196 (-21.992, 258.385), p = 0.097]. Subgroup analysis further verified this trend and detected that males with higher education level tended to participate in less work activity [β (95% CI): -1,139.972 (-2,136.707, -143.237), p = 0.026] while females with higher education level tended to engage in more exercise activity [Fully adjusted model, β (95% CI): 141.709 (45.468, 237.950), p = 0.004]. Conclusion This study highlighted the importance of education level as a significant factor in promoting healthy behavior among emerging adults. The findings underscored the need for the Ministry of Education to prioritize educating this demographic about the significance of maintaining adequate sleep patterns and reducing sedentary habits. Encouraging them to allocate more time for work and physical activities can significantly contribute to their overall wellbeing and success, ultimately fostering a healthier next generation.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of the literature on circadian rhythms and sports to identify research trends, knowledge gaps, and future directions. METHODS A total of 301 manuscripts, including 245 articles and 56 reviews, were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database, and the bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer 1.6.16. RESULTS The analysis revealed a continuous increase in the volume of literature on circadian rhythms and sports over the past 38 years, with a focus on the effects of circadian rhythms on physical performance, sleep quality, and jet lag. The study identified 1107 authors who have contributed to this field, with the highest number of publications from Reilly T, Chtourou H, and Atkinson G. The publications were from 512 institutions in 59 countries/regions, with Liverpool John Moores University, University of Sfax, and Manouba University being the leading institutions. The USA, UK, and Australia had the largest number of publications. The top 3 journals were Chronobiology International, Biological Rhythm Research, and Sports Medicine. CONCLUSION Despite the increase in research, there are still several underexplored areas, such as the effects of circadian rhythms on cognitive and emotional processes in sports, the role of individual differences in circadian rhythms on sports outcomes, and the potential applications of circadian interventions for sports performance optimization. Future research should address these gaps to advance our understanding of the complex relationship between circadian rhythms and sports.

Abstract
Background and Aims High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a therapeutic option for people with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). However, the perspectives and experiences of HIIT for people with NASH are unknown, limiting translation of research. We explored the experiences and perspectives of both professionally supervised and self-directed HIIT in people with NASH and evaluated participant-reported knowledge, barriers, and enablers to commencing and sustaining HIIT. Methods Twelve participants with NASH underwent 12 weeks of supervised HIIT (3 days/week, 4×4 minutes at 85-95% maximal heart rate, interspersed with 3 minutes active recovery), followed by 12-weeks of self-directed (unsupervised) HIIT. One-on-one, semistructured participant interviews were conducted by exercise staff prior to HIIT and following both supervised and self-directed HIIT to explore prior knowledge, barriers, enablers, and outcomes at each stage. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed, coded, and thematically analyzed by two independent researchers. Results Four dominant themes were identified: (1) no awareness of/experience with HIIT and ambivalence about exercise capabilities; (2) multiple medical and social barriers to commencing and continuing HIIT; (3) exercise specialist support was a highly valued enabler, and (4) HIIT was enjoyed and provided holistic benefits. Conclusions People with NASH may lack knowledge of and confidence for HIIT, and experience multiple complex barriers to commencing and continuing HIIT. Exercise specialist support is a key enabler to sustained engagement. These factors need to be addressed in future clinical programs to augment the uptake and long-term sustainability of HIIT by people with NASH so they can experience the range of related benefits.

Abstract
Background Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), as a non-invasive neuromodulation technique, has been widely used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD). The increasing application of TMS has promoted an increasing number of clinical studies. In this paper, a bibliometric analysis of existing studies was conducted to reveal current research hotspots and guide future research directions. Method Relevant articles and reviews were obtained from the Science Citation Index Expanded of Web of Science Core Collection database. Data related to publications, countries, institutions, authors, journals, citations, and keywords in the studies included in the review were systematically analyzed using VOSviewer 1.6.18 and Citespace 6.2.4 software. Result A total of 1,894 papers on the topic of TMS in PD between 1991 and 2022 were analyzed and visualized to identify research hotspots and trends in the field. The number of annual publications in this field of study has increased gradually over the past 30 years, with the number of annual publications peaking in 2022 (n = 150). In terms of publications and total citations, countries, institutions, and authors from North America and Western Europe were found to make significant contributions to the field. The current hotspot focuses on the effectiveness of TMS for PD in different stimulation modes or different stimulated brain regions. The keyword analysis indicates that the latest research is oriented to the mechanism study of TMS for motor symptoms in PD, and the non-motor symptoms are also receiving more attention. Conclusion Our study offers insights into the current hotspots and emerging trends of TMS in the rehabilitation of PD. These findings may serve as a guide for future research and the application of TMS for PD.

Abstract
Background Biomechanical research on the lumbar intervertebral disc (IVD) provides valuable information for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of related diseases, and has received increasing attention. Using bibliometric methods and visualization techniques, this study investigates for the first time the research status and development trends in this field, with the aim of providing guidance and support for subsequent research. Methods The Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded) within the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was used as the data source to select literature published from 2003 to 2022 related to biomechanical research on lumbar IVD. VOSviewer 1.6.19 and CiteSpace 6.2.R2 visualization software, as well as the online analysis platform of literature metrology, were utilized to generate scientific knowledge maps for visual display and data analysis. Results The United States is the most productive country in this field, with the Ulm University making the largest contribution. Wilke HJ is both the most prolific author and one of the highly cited authors, while Adams MA is the most cited author. Spine, J Biomech, Eur Spine J, Spine J, and Clin Biomech are not only the journals with the highest number of publications, but also highly cited journals. The main research topics in this field include constructing and validating three-dimensional (3D) finite element model (FEM) of lumbar spine, measuring intradiscal pressure, exploring the biomechanical effects and related risk factors of lumbar disc degeneration, studying the mechanical responses to different torque load combinations, and classifying lumbar disc degeneration based on magnetic resonance images (MRI), which are also the hot research themes in recent years. Conclusion This study systematically reviews the knowledge system and development trends in the field of biomechanics of lumbar IVD, providing valuable references for further research.

Abstract
Purpose Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a prevalent respiratory condition characterized by chronic airway inflammation, where macrophages from the innate immune system may exert a pivotal influence. Our study aimed to summarize the present state of knowledge and to identify the focal points and emerging developments regarding macrophages associated with COPD through bibliometrics. Methods Publications regarding research on macrophages associated with COPD from January 1, 2011, to January 1, 2022, were retrieved from the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) which is part of the Web of Science database. In total, 1521 publications were analyzed using bibliometric methodology. VOSviewer was used to analyze the annual publications, countries, institutions, authors, journals, and research hotspots. Results Based on the bibliometric analysis, publications relating to macrophages associated with COPD tended to increase from 2011 to 2022. The United States was the largest producer and most influential country in this field. Research during the past decade has focused on inflammation in the lungs. Most previous studies have mainly focused on the mechanisms that promote the initiation and progression of COPD. Macrophage-related oxidative stress and immunity, communication between macrophages and epithelial cells, and interventions for acute exacerbations have become the focus of more recent studies and will become a hot topic in the future. Conclusion Global research on macrophage-associated COPD has been growing rapidly in the past decade. The hot topics in this field gradually tended to shift focus from "inflammation" to "oxidative stress", "epithelial-cells", and "exacerbations". The significance of macrophages in coordinating immune responses, interacting with other cells, and exhibiting dysregulated capacities has attracted increasing attention to COPD pathogenesis. The adoption of new technologies may provide a more promising and comprehensive understanding of the specific role of macrophages in COPD in the future.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Short-sleep is becoming increasingly common and may negatively affect brain function including cognitive ability. Physical exercise has been proved to improve cognitive function while intensity matters. This study was conducted to examine the effects of 12-week exercise interventions on cognitive performance and prefrontal cortex activation related to task performance in short-sleep young adults. METHODS A total of 50 subjects (23.62 ± 5.28 years and 24 men) with regular short-sleep conditions (<7 h per night) participated in this study and were divided into three groups: control, moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT), and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) group. As task performance (congruent and incongruent Stroop) was monitored, changes in prefrontal oxygenated hemoglobin (oxyHb), an indicator of cortical activation, were measured using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to explore the hemodynamics mechanism. RESULTS Post 12-week intervention, significant differences in reaction time for congruent [β (95%CI): -0.045 (-0.088, -0.002), p = 0.039] and incongruent Stroop tests [β (95%CI): -0.058 (-0.113, -0.003), p = 0.038] were found only in the MICT intervention group. However, HIIT did not show significant improvements in cognitive function. Left middle frontal gyrus (Frontal Mid L) and right dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus (Frontal Sup R) were both stimulated by MICT and HIIT. Moreover, left dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus (Frontal Sup L) was stimulated by MICT. CONCLUSION The findings indicated that 12-week MICT improved cognition by significantly increasing cortical activity across more brain regions. Thus, we suggested that maintaining moderate-intensity exercise could benefit cognitive function despite short sleep.

Abstract
Objectives Existing assertions about the relationship between various factors of the built environment and physical activity behaviors are inconsistent and warrant further exploration and analysis. Methods This study systematically searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, the Cochrane Library and Google Scholar for the effect of the built environment on the physical activity behaviors of older adults. R software was used to calculate the meta-estimated odds ratio with a 95% confidence interval. Simultaneously, the quality of included studies was evaluated using an observational study quality evaluation standard recommended by American health care quality and research institutions. Results A total of 16 original researches were included in this meta-analysis and eight factors of the built environment were evaluated. These factors which ranked from high to low according to their impact were traffic safety (OR = 1.58, 95% CI [1.14-2.20]), destination accessibility (OR = 1.24, 95% CI [1.06-1.44]), aesthetics of sports venues (OR = 1.21, 95% CI [1.07-1.37]), virescence of sports venues (OR = 1.14, 95% CI [1.06-1.23]), building density (OR = 1.07, 95% CI [1.02-1.13]). Additionally, it seemed that there was no potential association between mixed land use (OR = 1.01, 95% CI [0.92-1.10]), the quality of pedestrian facilities (OR = 1.00, 95% CI [0.92-1.08]) or commercial facilities (OR = 0.94, 95% CI [0.88-1.00]) and physical activity behaviors of older adults. Conclusions The built environment has been found to exhibit a significant relationship with the physical activity behaviors of older adults. It is proposed that factors such as traffic safety, destination accessibility, aesthetics of sports venues, virescence of sports venues, and building density be given more consideration when aiming to promote physical activity levels among older adults.

Abstract
Prolonged sitting appears to accelerate aging, while optimal physical activity patterns have been found to delay the process. It is an emerging topic, and no conclusions have been reached regarding the relationship between physical activity patterns and biomarkers-measured aging. Hence, the aim of this study was to investigate the association between sensor-based objectively measured physical activity and phenotypic age using a nationwide population from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in the United States. Weighted linear regression models were performed to evaluate the association between sedentary behavior, light-intensity physical activity (LPA), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and phenotypic age. A total of 6439 eligible participants were included and the weighted respondents were 49,964,300. Results showed that prolonged sitting was positively associated with phenotypic age in the fully adjusted model [β (95% CI): 0.009(0.007,0.011), p < 0.001], while increasing volume of LPA and MVPA was associated with younger phenotypic age using the fully adjusted model [β (95% CI): -0.010(-0.013,-0.006), p < 0.001; -0.062(-0.075,-0.048), p < 0.001]. By utilizing the Isotemporal Substitution Model, it was found that replacing 30 min of sedentary behavior with 30 min of LPA or MVPA per day was associated with estimated 0.4 or 1.9 years of phenotypic age reduction. According to the study's findings, maintaining a certain level of physical activity could delay the process of aging and intensity matters.

Abstract
The neurotoxicity of heavy metals received increasingly attention in recent years. Sleeping is regulated and coordinated by nervous system, however, the health hazard of heavy metal like cadmium (Cd) exposure on sleep health remained unknown. Rescue strategies like physical exercise (PE) has emerged to mitigate such influence. An epidemiological design with cross-sectional data from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2007-2010 was applied. The relationship between three blood heavy metals [cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg)] and sleep disturbance was analyzed. A total of 8,751 participants were finally included in and the weighted participants were 330,239,463. Weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression indicated that mixed blood metals were positively related to risk of sleep disturbance and the mixture effect of exposure to heavy metals was mainly attributable to Cd (89.1%). Weighted logistic regression showed a significant positive association between the highest quartile of blood Cd and sleep disturbance [(OR (95% CI)): 1.191 (1.014,1.400), p = 0.036] in the fully adjusted model, while no association was found under Pb and Hg exposure. In the association between Q3 and Q4 level of blood Cd and sleep disturbance, moderate-to-vigorous physical exercise group had lower risks than none and low exercise group. In the restricted cubic spline model, it was also verified that higher PE participation was associated with the lowest incidence of sleep disturbance with the increment in Cd concentration. Our study suggested that both policy makers and the public should minimize heavy metal exposure. Moreover, conducting moderate to vigorous physical exercise is a protecting factor to mitigate Cd's influence on sleep health.

Abstract
Bronchiolitis obliterans (BO) is a rare and irreversible chronic respiratory disease. The diagnosis of BO is challenging, and there still needs to be specific therapies and uniform treatment guidelines available. Research on BO has grown steadily over the past 20 years, and with the continued interest of researchers in this area, a bibliometric study of BO becomes necessary. This topic aims to assess the current state of research in BO over the last 2 decades and to identify research hotspots and emerging directions. Information on BO-related articles were obtained from the Science Citation Index Expand of the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC [SCI-E]) database. Citespace (6.1.R6), VOSviewer (1.6.18), and the online bibliometrics website (https://bibliometric.com/) were used for bibliometric analysis mainly to include country/region, institution, author, journal, keywords, and references and to construct visual knowledge network diagrams. A total of 4153 publications from the WOSCC [SCI-E] database were included in this study. Most publications come from the United States, Japan, and Germany, which collaborate relatively more frequently. Research institutions in the United States, especially the University of Washington, published the largest number of BO-related articles. Regarding authors, Vos, R is the most productive author, while Verleden, GM is the most influential in BO. In addition, JOURNAL OF HEART AND LUNG TRANSPLANTATION is the journal with the most published articles. The most cited article is Estenne M, 2002. Based on the clustering analysis of keywords and references, the diagnosis of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), treatment of BOS, and risk factors of BO are the current research hotspots and future research trends. We analyzed the publication trends in BO by bibliometrics and mapped the knowledge network of major contributing countries/regions, institutions, authors, and journals. Current research hotspots were found based on the main keywords and references. The outcome may help researchers identify potential collaborators, collaborating institutions, and hot fronts in BO to enhance collaboration on critical issues and improve the diagnosis and treatment of BO.

Abstract
BACKGROUND As the complexity and diversity of the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) are becoming better understood, burgeoning research has progressed in this field. However, there is a scarcity of literature specifically focused on the bibliometric analysis of this topic. This study sought to investigate the development pattern of TIME-related research from 2006 to September 14, 2022, from a bibliometric perspective. METHODS We acquired both articles and reviews related to TIME from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) (retrieved on September 14, 2022). R package "Bibliometrix" was used to calculate the basic bibliometric features, present the collaborative conditions of countries and authors, and generate a three-field plot to show the relationships among authors, affiliations, and keywords. VOSviewer was utilized for co-authorship analysis of country and institution and keyword co-occurrence analysis. CiteSpace was used for citation burst analysis of keywords and cited references. In addition, Microsoft Office Excel 2019 was used to develop an exponential model to fit the cumulative publication numbers. RESULTS A total of 2545 publications on TIME were included, and the annual publication trend exhibited a significant increase over time. China and Fudan University were the most productive country and institution, with the highest number of publications of 1495 and 396, respectively. Frontiers in Oncology held the highest number of publications. A number of authors were recognized as the main contributors in this field. The clustering analysis revealed six clusters of keywords that highlighted the research hot spots in the fields of basic medical research, immunotherapy, and various cancer types separately. CONCLUSIONS This research analyzed 16 years of TIME-related research and sketched out a basic knowledge framework that includes publications, countries, journals, authors, institutions, and keywords. The finding revealed that the current research hot spots of the TIME domain lie in "TIME and cancer prognosis", "cancer immunotherapy", and "immune checkpoint". Our researchers identified the following areas: "immune checkpoint-based immunotherapy", "precise immunotherapy" and "immunocyte pattern", which may emerge as frontiers and focal points in the upcoming years, offering valuable avenues for further exploration.

Abstract
Background It has been demonstrated that elderly people's cognitive capacities can be improved with exercise, and short sleep is linked to cognitive decline. However, the impact of physical exercise on cognitive performance in seniors who do not get enough sleep is largely unknown. This makes it an intriguing subject to explore further. Methods This study consisted of elders (over 60 years old) who participated throughout the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey's 2011-2014 cycle (NHANES). Weighted linear regression model and restricted cubic splines analysis were performed to evaluate the association between physical exercise and cognitive function. In the end, 1,615 samples were scrutinized and the total number of weighted respondents was 28,607,569. Results Results showed that in the Animal Fluency test and the Digit Symbol Substitution test, a positive association was found between physical exercise volume and scores in the fully adjusted model. A two-piecewise linear regression model was then applied to explore the threshold effect of exercise on cognitive performance. Before 960 and 800 MET-minutes/week, there were consistent positive relationship between exercise and scores of the Animal Fluency test [ß (95% CI): 0.233 (0.154, 0.312), p < 0.001] and Digit Symbol Substitution test [β (95% CI): 0.555 (0.332, 0.778), p < 0.001], respectively. However, there was a saturation effect where physical exercise volume reached the two inflection points. Conclusion According to our research, the benefit of exercise did not always expand with the exercise volume increment under the short-sleep condition, which challenged existing knowledge. The short-sleep elder group could maintain cognitive performance with no more than 800 MET-minutes/week of physical exercise. Verification of these findings requires further biological investigations.

Abstract
The objective of this study is to utilize bibliometric and visual analysis techniques to identify hotspots and frontiers of research in myasthenia gravis (MG) and provide valuable references for future research. The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was used to retrieve literature data related to MG research, which was then analyzed using VOSviewer 1.6.18, CiteSpace 6.1.R3, and the Online Platform for Bibliometric Analysis. The analysis revealed 6734 publications distributed across 1612 journals and contributed by as many as 24,024 authors affiliated with 4708 institutions across 107 countries/regions. The number of annual publications and citations for MG research has steadily increased over the past 2 decades, with the last 2 years alone witnessing a remarkable increase in annual publications and citations to over 600 and 17,000, respectively. In terms of productivity, the United States emerged as the top producing country, while the University of Oxford ranked first in terms of research institutions. Vincent A was identified as the top contributor in terms of publications and citations. Muscle & Nerve and Neurology ranked first in publications and citations respectively, with clinical neurology and neurosciences among the main subject categories explored. The study also identified pathogenesis, eculizumab, thymic epithelial cells, immune checkpoint inhibitors, thymectomy, MuSK antibodies, risk, diagnosis, and management as the current hot research topics in MG, while burst keywords like quality of life, immune-related adverse events (irAEs), rituximab, safety, nivolumab, cancer, and classification indicated the frontiers of MG research. This study effectively identifies the hotspots and frontiers of MG research, and offers valuable references for researchers interested in this area.

Abstract
Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a demyelinating syndrome of the central nervous system. A tremendous amount of literature on NMOSD has been published. This study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of the publications on NMOSD and show its hotspots and development trends. Methods We used the Web of Science Core Collection as a database and searched the literature published between 2002 and 2022. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, online bibliometric platform, and R-bibliometrix were used to conduct bibliometric analysis and network visualization, including the number of publications, citations, countries/regions, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords. Results A total of 3,057 publications on NMOSD were published in 198 journals by 200 authors at 200 institutions from 93 countries/regions. The United States published the most literature and made great contributions to this field. The Mayo Clinic was the institution with the largest number of publications. The journal with the most publications was Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders, and the most co-cited journal was Neurology. The author with the most publications was Fujihara, K., while the most frequently co-cited author was Wingerchuk, DM. The current research hotspots may be focused on "efficacy," "multicenter," "interleukin-6 receptor blockade," "safety," "azathioprine," "tolerance," and "adult". Conclusion This study was the first bibliometric analysis of publications on the NMOSD field, visualizing its bibliometric characteristics and gaining insight into the direction, hotspots, and development of global NMOSD research, which may provide helpful information for researchers. Future research hotspots might be conducting randomized controlled trials on targeted immunotherapy in the NMOSD field.

Abstract
Background Short sleep is more common in the modern society. Recreational physical activity (RPA) like exercise brings both mental and physiological benefits to depression; paradoxically, lack of sleep is harmful. Evidence on the association between RPA and depression in the short sleep population is limited. Methods Participants with short sleep condition from the National health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES 2007-2018) were included in the present study. Short sleep condition was defined as ≤ 7 h per night. Sleep duration and RPA status were self-reported in NHANES by the Physical Activity Questionnaire using a 7-day recall method. Multivariable logistic regression was applied to evaluate the association between RPA and depression. Additionally, the non-linear relationship between RPA and depression was evaluated using the threshold effect analysis and restricted cubic spline. Results This cross-sectional study comprised 6,846 adults' data, and the weighted participants were 52,501,159. The weighted prevalence of depression was higher in females, which took up 65.85% of all depression patients. In fully adjusted models, sufficient volume of RPA was associated with lower depression risks, with OR (95% CI) =0.678 (0.520, 0.883). Further analysis revealed a U-shaped association between RPA and incident depression, and the inflection point was 640 MET-minutes/week. When RPA <640 MET-minutes/week, increased RPA was associated with lower risk of incident depression, with OR (95% CI) = 0.891 (0.834, 0.953). When RPA ≥ 640 MET-minutes/week, the benefits of RPA seemed to be not significant, with OR (95% CI) = 0.999 (0.990, 1.009). Conclusion Our findings observed associations between RPA condition and incident depression in the short sleep population. Moderate RPA was beneficial to maintain mental health and associated with lower incidence of depression for short sleepers, but excessive RPA might increase the risk of depression. For general short sleepers, keeping the RPA volume approximately 640 MET-minutes/week was beneficial to lower risks of depression. Gender difference should be considered as an important factor for further studies to examine these relationships and explore mechanisms.

Abstract
Current evidence showed that heavy metal exposure including cadmium (Cd) exposure might contribute to memory function impairment in youth, while this association has not been extensively explored in senior groups. Complementary therapy like physical activity (PA) is proved to enhance memory; however, the combined effects of Cd exposure and PA are interesting issues worth investigating. Cross-sectional data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011-2014 were analyzed. Multivariable weighted linear regression model and restricted cubic splines analysis were used to examine the association between blood Cd, PA, and memory function. Ultimately, 1884 samples were analyzed, and the weighted participants were 98,350,183. Results showed that in the immediate and delayed recall tests, a negative association was found between blood Cd and scores for the fully adjusted model, while a positive association was detected with PA on memory test scores. In subgroup analysis, for the delayed recall test, in lower Cd exposure (Cd = Q1), stronger effect size was found in the moderate level PA group than the higher level PA group (moderate level PA group, β = 1.133, 95% CI: 0.330, 1.936; high level PA group, β = 0.203, 95% CI: - 0.314, 0.719), and this finding also existed in higher (Cd = Q4) exposure (moderate level PA group, β = 0.988, 95% CI: 0.267, 1.708; high level PA group, β = 0.830, 95% CI: 0.261, 1.400). Moreover, the non-linear relationship between Cd exposure and performance of CERAD test under different levels of PA was reported, and the moderate level PA group performed best from lower to higher blood Cd. According to our research, the benefit of PA did not always expand with the PA intensity increment under different Cd exposure. Performing an appropriate level of physical exercise could alleviate the memory decline under Cd exposure in the elder groups. Further biological investigations are warranted to verify these findings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Trouble sleeping is one of the major health issues nowadays. Current evidence on the correlation between muscle quality and trouble sleeping is limited. METHODS A cross-sectional study design was applied and participants aged from 18 to 60 years in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011-2014 was used for analysis. Muscle quality index (MQI) was quantitatively calculated as handgrip strength (HGS, kg) sum/ arm and appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASM, kg) by using the sum of the non-dominant hand and dominant hand. Sleeping data was obtained by interviews and self-reported by individuals. The main analyses utilized weighted multivariable logistic regression models according to the complex multi-stage sampling design of NHANES. Restricted cubic spline model was applied to explore the non-linear relationship between MQI and trouble sleeping. Moreover, subgroup analyses concerning sociodemographic and lifestyle factors were conducted in this study. RESULTS 5143 participants were finally included in. In the fully adjusted model, an increased level of MQI was significantly associated with a lower odds ratio of trouble sleeping, with OR = 0.765, 95% CI: (0.652,0.896), p = 0.011. Restricted cubic spline showed a non-linear association between MQI and trouble sleeping. However, it seemed that the prevalence of trouble sleeping decreased with increasing MQI until it reached 2.362, after which the odds ratio of trouble sleeping reached a plateau. Subgroup analyses further confirmed that the negative association between the MQI and trouble sleeping was consistent and robust across groups. CONCLUSION Overall, this study revealed that MQI can be used as a reliable predictor in odds ratio of trouble sleeping. Maintaining a certain level of muscle mass would be beneficial to sleep health. However, this was a cross-sectional study, and causal inference between MQI and trouble sleeping was worthy of further exploration.

Abstract
Short sleep is a common issue nowadays. The purpose of this study was to investigate prefrontal cortical hemodynamics by evaluating changes in concentrations of oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO) in cognitive tests among short-sleep young adults and to explore the relationship between sleep duration, physical activity level, and cognitive function in this specific population. A total of 46 participants (25 males and 21 females) were included in our study, and among them, the average sleep duration was 358 min/day. Stroop performance in the short sleep population was linked to higher levels cortical activation in distinct parts of the left middle frontal gyrus. This study found that moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) was significantly associated with lower accuracy of incongruent Stroop test. The dose-response relationship between sleep duration and Stroop performance under different levels of light-intensity physical activity (LPA) and MVPA was further explored, and increasing sleep time for different PA level was associated with better Stroop performance. In summary, this present study provided neurobehavioral evidence between cortical hemodynamics and cognitive function in the short sleep population. Furthermore, our findings indicated that, in younger adults with short sleep, more MVPA was associated with worse cognitive performance. Short sleep young adults should increase sleep time, rather than more MVPA, to achieve better cognitive function.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to investigate the international scientific output regarding the relationship between COVID-19 and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) through a bibliometric analysis and explore research hotspots in this field. Methods We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for publications and used different types of software, such as R, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer, to analyze and visualize the data. Results A total of 10,055 publications were retrieved as of the 13 December 2022, based on the inclusion criteria after screening. The USA and China lead in the quantity and quality of publications in this field. Based on Bradford's law, 63 journals were considered core journals in the field. Co-cited references and keywords analysis indicated that researchers paid particular attention to cardiovascular comorbidities, outcomes, and COVID-19 regenerative medicine. In summary, with increasing COVID-19 research related to CVD, more attention might be drawn to the relationship between these two diseases. Conclusion The hotspots in this field may continue to revolve around cardiovascular comorbidities, outcomes, and COVID-19 regenerative medicine. Owing to the different situations faced by different groups with COVID-19, further exploration of the related factors specific to each of these groups, e.g., history or no history of heart failure, is needed, with a view to providing a reference for intervention measures in COVID-19 research.

Abstract
Background Two related lifestyle behaviors associated with sleep disturbance are sedentary behavior and physical exercise participation. We aimed to use a population-based study to disentangle the relationships between sedentary behavior, exercise, and sleep disturbance based on blood-cell-based inflammatory biomarkers. Methods A total of 22,599 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were included in the analyses. Sleep disturbance was assessed according to the NHANES questionnaire. Exercise participation ansd sedentary behavior were evaluated by the global physical activity questionnaire. The inflammatory biomarkers in the examination were white blood cell (WBC) count, neutrophil count (NEU), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and systemic immune inflammation index (SII). A complex multistage sampling design and weighted multivariable logistic regression were applied for further analysis. Mediation models were constructed to figure out the mediating role of inflammatory biomarkers. Results The weighted prevalence of sleep disturbance was 24.17%. Sedentary behavior and exercise were associated with sleep disturbance after full adjustment [for sedentary behavior, OR (95% CI): 1.261 (1.154, 1.377); for exercise, OR (95% CI): 0.849 (0.757, 0.953)]. In severe sedentary behavior groups, the mitigation effect of exercise on sleep disturbance was observed [OR (95% CI): 0.687 (0.551, 0.857)]. For the mechanism, strong associations were detected between inflammatory biomarkers and sleep disturbance. Mediation analysis showed that WBC, NEU, NLR, and SII mediated the statistical association between sedentary behavior and sleep disturbance with proportions (%) of 2.09, 2.27, 1.76, and 0.82, respectively. Conclusions Our data suggested that sedentary behavior was a risk factor for sleep disturbance. Blood-cell-based inflammatory biomarkers were an easily accessible and cost-effective strategy for identifying sleep disturbance and also significantly mediated the association between sedentary behavior and sleep disturbance. Exercise was proved to be effective in severe sedentary behavior groups to improve sleep disturbance symptoms, while the internal mechanism needed further exploration.

Abstract
Background COVID-19 has a significant impact on dental medicine. The present study aims to overview dental-related research on COVID-19 by visual mapping method. Methods We analyzed the publications in the "Dentistry Oral Surgery Medicine" category in the Web of Science core collection. On June 10, 2022, we conducted an advanced search using the items TS = ("Novel coronavirus 2019" or "COVID 19" or "Coronavirus disease 2019" or "2019-nCOV" or "SARS-CoV-2" or "coronavirus-2") and WC = ("Dentistry Oral Surgery medicine") to screen publications in the dental field that focus on COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2. The contributions of authors, journals, institutions, and countries were described using Microsoft Excel 2010 and VOSviewer. The keywords co-occurring analysis and references analysis were visualized using VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Results A total of 1,732 papers were identified between 2020 and 2022. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil were three major contributors to this field. Univ São Paulo (Brazil) ranked first with 55 publications in this field. Martelli Junior, Hercilio from Universidade Jose do Rosario Vellano (Brazil) was the most prolific author with 19 publications. Oral Diseases and British Dental Journal were the two most productive journals. The central topics were dental practice and infection control, oral manifestation related to COVID-19, dental education and online learning, teledentistry, and mental health problems. Conclusion The growth rate of publications regarding dental research on COVID-19 has risen sharply. Research topics shifted from "Dental practice and infection control, oral manifestation related to COVID-19" in 2020 to "Dental education and online learning, teledentistry, mental health problems," which are three important research topics for the future.

Abstract
Background Immunotherapy for lung cancer has been a hot research area for years. This bibliometric analysis was intended to present research trends on melanoma immunotherapy. Method On April 1, 2022, the authors identified 2,109 papers on melanoma immunotherapy using the Web of Science and extracted their general information and the total number of citations. The authors then conducted a bibliometric analysis to present the research landscape, clarify the research trends, and determine the most cited papers (top-papers) as well as major journals on melanoma immunotherapy. Subsequently, recent research hotspots were identified by analyzing the latest articles in major journals. Results The total and median number of citations of these 2,109 papers on melanoma immunotherapy was 137,686 and 11, respectively. "Improved survival with ipilimumab in patients with metastatic melanoma" by Hodi et al. was the most cited paper (9,824 citations). Among the journals, the top-paper number (16), average citations per paper (2,510.7), and top-papers rate (100%) of New England Journal of Medicine were the highest. Corresponding authors represented the USA took part in most articles (784). Since 2016, the hottest research area has changed from CTLA-4 to PD-1. Conclusions This bibliometric analysis comprehensively and quantitatively presents the research trends and hotspots based on 2,109 relevant publications, and further suggests future research directions. The researchers can benefit in selecting journals and in finding potential collaborators. This study can help researchers gain a comprehensive impression of the research landscape, historical development, and current hotspots in melanoma immunotherapy and can provide inspiration for future research.

Abstract
Introduction Numerous studies have confirmed the effects of low carbohydrate diet (LChD) on metabolism and chronic diseases. However, there were no bibliometric studies on LChD. This study was conducted through a bibliometric analysis to investigate the current status, hotspots and frontiers trends. Methods We searched all research publications related to LChD from 2002 to 2021 on the Web of Scientific Core Collection (WoSCC). CiteSpace and VOSviewer software was used to analyze countries/regions, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords. Results A total of 6938 papers were included, with an increasing trend of annual publication. LChD categories mainly included nutrition, endocrinology, and neurosciences which reflected the interdisciplinary characteristics. USA was with the largest number and the world science center in LChD field. Universities were main research institutions and five of the top 10 institutions were from USA. Eric Heath Kossoff had 101 publications and ranked first. Nutrients was the leading journal. "A randomized trial of a low-carbohydrate diet for obesity" and "Obesity" were considered to be the most co-cited and cited reference respectively. The hotspots of LChD are four aspects, "ketogenic diet", "metabolism disease", "cardiovascular disease" and "cancer". We summarized that "oxidative stress", "gut microbiota", and "inflammation factors" are becoming frontiers trends of LChD research in the future and deserve further study. Discussion Over the past 20 years research on LChD has gained great attention. To better explore LChD field, multilevel mechanism studies will be required in the future.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To overview the research actuality and offer the hotspots and cutting-edge issues in the field of Non-suicidal Self-injury (NSSI) by using bibliometric analysis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Publications related to NSSI from 2002 to 2022 were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. CiteSpace V 6.1.R2 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 were used to visually analyzed institutions, countries, journals, authors, references, and keywords in research on NSSI. RESULTS A total of 799 studies about NSSI were analyzed via CiteSpace and VOSviewer. The number of annual publications related to NSSI is fluctuating growth. The USA and Harvard University are the most productive country and institutions. In the case of journals and co-cited journals, Psychiatry Research are the most productive journal and also ranked highest among co-cited journals. Furthermore, Michael Kaess has published the most publications, and Matthew K. Nock is the most cited author. An article published by Swannell SV et al. shows the highest citation counts. After analysis, the most common keywords are harm, adolescents and prevalence. The gender difference, diagnosis, and dysregulation are frontier areas of NSSI research. CONCLUSION This study analyzed the research of NSSI from multiple perspectives, and provides valuable information for researchers to capture the current status, hot spots, and frontier trends of NSSI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a clinical syndrome associated with mitochondria and lacks effective preventive and therapeutic measures. This bibliometric study aims to gain insight into the scientific findings regarding mitochondria in ALI/ARDS. METHODS We retrieved the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for mitochondria in ALI/ARDS publications from 2012-2021. VOSviewer, CiteSpace (5.8. R3) and Bibliometrix (3.1.4) R package were used for further analysis and visualization. RESULT A total of 756 English-language articles and reviews were identified. The annual number of publications presented a rapidly developing trend. China was the most productive and cited country, and the USA had the greatest impact. In the keyword co-occurring network, the terms "acute lung injury", "oxidative stress", "inflammation", "mitochondria" and "apoptosis" occurred most frequently. The co-citation network revealed that #1 mesenchymal stromal cell and #3 endothelial cell had the most bursts of citations. In addition, research hotspots have shifted from "potential therapeutic treatments" and "mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)" to "endothelial cell" and "mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)". CONCLUSION This bibliometric analysis reveals the research directions and frontier hotspots of mitochondria in ALI/ARDS, which has shown a rapid growth trend in annual publication numbers. mtDNA, mitophagy, and apoptosis have been the most active research areas, while studies on mitochondrial transfer in stem cells have become a hot topic in recent years.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Self-efficacy is one of the important factors affecting chronic diseases. In the current epidemiological context of low back pain (LBP), LBP self-efficacy has become a topic of great practical interest for researchers. However, no bibliometric analysis related to LBP self-efficacy has been performed to date. The purpose of this study was to conduct and explore the current state of research in LBP self-efficacy from 1980 to 2021, by using bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping. METHODS Raw data were selected from the Web of Science (WOS) database, relevant literature on LBP self-efficacy was retrieved, and data were de-duplicated and cleaned. Excel was used for data processing. CiteSpace 5.8.R3 was used for bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping in publications and country, institution, journals, authors, references, and keywords. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0. RESULTS There were 822 references included. For this period, the total publication numbers were increased. A total of 103 regions had researchers in this area; the United States was the country with the largest volume of research. There were 94 disciplines, mainly in neuroscience. More research is likely to burst and develop quickly in general and internal medicine in the future. Spine was the most recognized journal. Cognitive-behavioral manifestations and older adults with LBP might be the frontiers and trends. CONCLUSION The volume of literature on LBP self-efficacy has increased linearly over the past 41 years and will continue to increase. The field of study has become more refined. This bibliometric analysis provides valuable support for future directions and research trends in LBP self-efficacy.

Abstract
Background The COVID-19 pandemic has led to public health problems, including depression. There has been a significant increase in research on depression during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, little attention has been paid to the overall trend in this field based on bibliometric analyses. Methods Co-Occurrence (COOC) and VOSviewer bibliometric methods were utilized to analyze depression in COVID-19 literature in the core collection of the Web of Science (WOS). The overall characteristics of depression during COVID-19 were summarized by analyzing the number of published studies, keywords, institutions, and countries. Results A total of 9,694 English original research articles and reviews on depression during COVID-19 were included in this study. The United States, China, and the United Kingdom were the countries with the largest number of publications and had close cooperation with each other. Research institutions in each country were dominated by universities, with the University of Toronto being the most productive institution in the world. The most frequently published author was Ligang Zhang. Visualization analysis showed that influencing factors, adverse effects, and coping strategies were hotspots for research. Conclusion The results shed light on the burgeoning research on depression during COVID-19, particularly the relationship between depression and public health. In addition, future research on depression during COVID-19 should focus more on special groups and those at potential risk of depression in the general population, use more quantitative and qualitative studies combined with more attention to scale updates, and conduct longitudinal follow-ups of the outcomes of interventions. In conclusion, this study contributes to a more comprehensive view of the development of depression during COVID-19 and suggests a theoretical basis for future research on public health.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: Cardiovascular disease is a long-term threat to global public health security, while sedentary behavior is a modifiable behavior among cardiovascular risk factors. This study aimed to analyze the peer-reviewed literature published globally on sedentary behavior and cardiovascular disease (SB-CVD) and identify the hotspots and frontiers within this research area. Materials and Methods: Publications on SB-CVD from 1990 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were applied to perform bibliometric and knowledge mapping visualization analyses. Results: A total of 2071 publications were retrieved, presenting a gradual growing trend. Authors from the USA topped the list with 748 (36.12%), followed by authors from England (373, 18.01%) and Australia (354, 17.09%). The University of Queensland, Australia, led with 95 (4.5%) publications. The top five active authors were all from Australia, while Dunstan D and Owen N published the most documents (56, 2.7%). A total of 71.27% of the publications received funding, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services provided 363 (17.53%) grants. Public Environmental Occupational Health (498, 24.05%), Sport Sciences (237, 11.44%), and Cardiac Cardiovascular Systems (212, 10.24%) were the three most popular disciplines, while PLOS One (96, 4.64%) and BMC Public Health (88, 4.25%) were the two most popular journals. Investigations within the SB-CVD research area addressed the entire lifespan, the most popular type of research was the epidemiological study, and the accelerometer was the primary instrument for measuring sedentary behavior. In terms of variables, physical activity and sedentary behavior were the dominant lifestyle behaviors, while obesity and hypertension were common health problems. Occupational physical activity and guidelines are at the frontier and are currently in the burst stage. Conclusions: The last three decades have witnessed the rapid development of the SB-CVD research area, and this study provided further research ideas for subsequent investigations.

Abstract
Background Village doctors (VDs) in China undertook arduous primary healthcare missions. However, they received little attention in comparison to doctors in urban public secondary and tertiary hospitals. There is an urgent need to explore the overall situation of turnover intention and job burnout among VDs to evaluate and adjust current health manpower policy. Methods In this study, seven databases like PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science (WOS), WanFang, China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP), Chinese BioMedical Literature Database (CBM), and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) were systematically searched, relevant experts were consulted, and empirical research on job burnout and turnover intention among VDs in international publications was evaluated. Therefore, we evaluated the prevalence of job burnout among VDs in general, across all dimensions and different severity levels, as well as the scores of each category. For turnover intention, we assessed the prevalence of different groups and their overall situation and also identified significant contributors. Results In this study, we integrated 20 research evidences on job burnout and turnover intention among 23,284 VDs from almost all provinces in China, and the prevalence of turnover intention among VDs in China was as high as 44.1% [95% confidence interval (CI): 34.1-54.2], which was two to four times that of primary health workers in high-income countries, but not much different from some developing countries. Simultaneously, VDs with the highest risk of turnover intention were men [odds ratio (OR): 1.22 (1.05-1.43)], those with a monthly income below USD 163.4 [OR: 0.88 (0.78-0.98)], those with a high educational level [OR: 0.88 (0.78-0.98)], and those <40 years old [OR: 1.27 (1.16-1.40)]. Similarly, the detection rate of job burnout toward them was 59.8% (95% CI: 38.7-79.1) with the MBI-GS score being 44.44 (95% CI: 37.02-51.86) in a total of 90, while the detection rate of job burnout in moderate and above almost reached 20%. The most significant contributor that affects job burnout was low personal accomplishment (LPA), and the detection rate for moderate and higher severity was 65.2% (95% CI: 58.7-71.7). Conclusion Attention should be paid to the high turnover intention and severe job burnout of primary health workers in rural areas of developing countries, and targeted measures should be taken to improve the situation. Health policymakers should increase financial subsidies for VDs, set a reasonable workload, improve various health policies such as pension insurance for VDs, and encourage "targeted training" for medical students to enrich and expand their team. Abstract
Objectives This study aimed to explore the current status, hotspots, and emerging research trends regarding the relationship between outdoor activities and myopia. Methods Publications on the relationship between outdoor activities and myopia from 2006 to 2021 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace (version 6.1.R2) was used to performed a bibliometric analysis, and R software (version 4.1.0) was used to visualize the trends and hot map of publications. Results A total of 640 publications were collected and analyzed in the present study. China was the major contributor (n = 204), followed by the United States of America (n = 181) and Australia (n = 137). The United States of America had the most extensive foreign cooperation (centrality = 0.25), followed by Australia (centrality = 0.20). The National University of Singapore contributed the largest number of publications (n = 48), followed by Sun Yat-Sen University (n = 41) and the Australian National University (n = 41). Among institutions, Cardiff University in the United Kingdom had the most extensive foreign cooperation (centrality = 0.12), followed by the National University of Singapore (centrality = 0.11). Saw S from Singapore had the largest number of publications (n = 39), followed by Morgan I from Australia (n = 27) and Jonas J from Germany (n = 23). Investigative ophthalmology & visual science is the most important journal to study the relationship between outdoor activities and myopia. "Global Prevalence of Myopia and High Myopia and Temporal Trends from 2000 through 2050" published by Holden BA was the most cited paper in this field with 177 citations. Co-occurrence and burst analyses of keywords showed that research trends and hotspots in this field focused mainly on "risk," "prevention" and "school". Conclusions The influence of outdoor activities on myopia remains a concern. In the future, deeper cooperation between countries or institutions is required to explore the effects of outdoor activities on myopia. Outdoor activities for the prevention of myopia and reduction of the risk of myopia among school students may be the focus of future research.

Abstract
As global quality of life has improved, the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases have gradually increased in prevalence. People have consequently sought to improve their health through physical exercise. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a cardiac rehabilitation (CR) tool that has been of great interest for several years. However, its feasibility and safety remain controversial. This study aimed to explore hot research topics and new directions regarding the role of HIIT in CR and to describe the dynamic development of the field. We used the Web of Science Core Collection database to develop visualizations using CiteSpace software (v.6.1.R2). The number of articles published, institutional collaboration networks, author partnerships, and keyword co-occurrence and clustering were used to analyze the impact of HIIT on CR. Our results showed that Norway, Canada, and the United States were the most prominent contributors to this field. Articles by Nigam, A and Juneau, M had the highest number of citations. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology had performed the most in-depth research in this area. The European Journal of Preventive Cardiology had published the most articles. The United States had the highest number of publishing journals. Relevant issues focused on coronary artery disease, exercise capacity, heart failure, cardiorespiratory fitness, and physical activity. HIIT in heart transplantation may be at the forefront of research in this field and future studies should focus on this topic. HIIT-based CR can therefore improve the exercise capacity and quality of life of cardiovascular patients and improve patient compliance in a safe manner.

Abstract
Objectives To explore and analyze research hotspots and frontiers in CRF in ovarian cancer patients to provide an evidence-based basis for scholars and policymakers. Background Ovarian cancer is one of the most common and lethal gynecological malignancies. Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is an annoying and pervasive side-effect that seriously affects the activities of daily living and decreases the quality of life (QoL) of cancer survivors. Methods The literature was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) from inception to 2021-12-31. CiteSpace was used to discuss research countries, institutions, authors, and keywords. Results This study ultimately included 755 valid publications, and the number of publications showed a gradual upward trend. The countries, institutions, authors, and journals that have published the most articles and cited the most frequently were the United States, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Michael Friedlander and Amit M Oza, Gynecologic Oncology, and Journal of Clinical Oncology. The top three high-frequency keywords were Ovarian cancer, chemotherapy, and clinical trial. The top three keywords with the strongest citation bursts were cyclophosphamide, double-blind, and open-label. Conclusions Conducting multi-center, large-sample, randomized controlled clinical trials to determine whether chemotherapeutic agents have severe adverse effects and to discuss the relationship between CRF and QoL and overall survival in cancer survivors are hotspots in this field. The new trends may be applying double-blind, randomized controlled trials to clarify the causes of CRF and open-label, randomized trials to determine the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of chemotherapeutic agents.

Abstract
Background Pyroptosis is a lytic pro-inflammatory programmed cell death mode that depends on caspase, inflammasome, and Gasdermin D (GSDMD). A growing number of studies have shown that pyroptosis is closely related to the pathophysiological mechanism of lung. The purpose of this study is to analyze the literature from Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and visualize the current trends and hotspots in the research of pyroptosis in lung disease. Methods On February 20, 2022, we retrieved all articles on pyroptosis in lung disease from SCI-expanded of WoSCC. Original articles and reviews published in English from 2007 to 2021 were included in the analysis. VOSviewer 1.6.17 and CiteSpace 5.8.R2 were used to analyze the retrieved data and visualize the results. Result 1798 qualified original articles and reviews on pyroptosis in lung disease were included in the bibliometric analysis. So far, the research in this field is still in a period of growth, and the number of global publications has increased yearly. Among the 66 countries that have published relevant articles, China ranked first in the number of publications, and the USA ranked first in the number of cited articles. Holian,A. was the author with the largest number of articles, including 21 published. The University of California System in the USA was the organization with the largest number of articles, totaling 55. Frontiers in Immunology was the journal with the most publications in pyroptosis. After bibliometric analysis, the frequently used keywords are: “NOD-like receptor3 (NLRP3) inflammasome”, “inflammation”, “oxidative stress”, and “acute lung injury (ALI)”. Conclusion The research on pyroptosis in lung disease is in its growth stage. The information released in this article may help researchers better understand the hotspots and developmental trends in this field, the cooperation network information of authors, countries, and institutions, and the citation correlation between articles. With the in-depth study of the mechanism of pyroptosis, the focus has shifted to increasing research on the connections and influences of different diseases. So far, increasing attention has been paid to the research field of the relationship between ALI and pyroptosis related to COVID-19.

Abstract
Olfactory dysfunction (OD) accompanied by depression or anxiety is a very common clinical problem, and there has been a growing number of studies on OD with depression or anxiety in recent decades. This study performed bibliometric and visual analyses of the literature on OD with depression or anxiety to derive research trends and identify emerging research foci. Relevant publications were obtained from the Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index in the Web of Science Core Collection databases (2002–2021). CiteSpace and VOSviewer were applied to identify and evaluate research foci and emerging trends in this research domain. The analyses found that the number of publications related to OD with depression or anxiety has increased significantly over the past 20 years, up from 15 in 2002 to 114 in 2022. The country that ranked highest in the number of articles and international cooperation was the United States. The top 10 most frequent keywords were “depression,” “olfaction,” “anxiety,” “dysfunction,” “olfactory bulbectomy,” “olfactory dysfunction,” “Parkinson’s disease,” “odor identification,” “brain,” and “disorders.” Analysis of keywords with the strongest citation bursts revealed that “oxidative stress” is an emerging research hotspot. A timeline chart of the cluster of co-cited references demonstrated that Parkinson’s disease was always a topic of interest in this area of research. This study conducted an objective, comprehensive, and systematic analysis of these publications, and identified the development of trends and hotspots in this research domain. It is hoped that this work will provide scholars, worldwide, with information to assist them in further research and the development of new therapies.

Abstract
Depressive symptoms are major public health problems. Leisure-time Physical activity (LPA) and dietary inflammatory preference are emerging factors that tends to affect the mental health status. There is limited evidence regarding the joint influence of LPA and dietary status on the prevalence of depression. This study was a cross-sectional study, which used a nationwide represented sample from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to assess the relationship among LPA, diet status and depression. Depression and LPA status was reported by the 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) and Physical Activity Questionnaire (PAQ), respectively. To assess dietary inflammatory preferences, dietary inflammatory index (DII) was applied based on a 24-h dietary recall interview. A total of 11,078 subjects was included in this study and weighted participants were 89,682,020. Weighted multivariable linear regression showed that DII was negatively associated with LPA after full adjustment, with β (95% CI): −0.487 (−0.647, −0.327). Weighted multivariable logistic regression showed that LPA was significantly associated with depressive symptoms after full adjustment, with odds ratios OR (95% CIs): 0.986 (0.977, 0.995). By DII stratification analysis, this phenomenon was also existed in groups with anti-inflammatory diet. Mediation effect analysis was further performed, which showed that DII significantly mediating the association between LPA and depression with proportion mediated as 3.94%. Our findings indicated the mediating role of DII in the association between LPA condition and incident depression. More well-designed studies are still needed to validate the causal relationship.
