Abstract
Previous large-sample postmortem study revealed that the expression of miR-1202 in brain tissues from Brodmann area 44 (BA44) was dysregulated in patients with major depressive disorder (MDDs). However, the specific in vivo neuropathological mechanism of miR-1202 as well as its interplay with BA44 circuits in the depressed brain are still unclear. Here, we performed a case-control study with imaging-genetic approach based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data and miR-1202 quantification from 110 medication-free MDDs and 102 healthy controls. Serum-derived circulating exosomes that readily cross the blood-brain barrier were isolated to quantify miR-1202. For validation, repeated MR scans were performed after a six-week follow-up of antidepressant treatment on a cohort of MDDs. Voxelwise factorial analysis revealed two brain areas (including the striatal-thalamic region) in which the effect of depression on the functional connectivity with BA44 was significantly dependent on the expression level of exosomal miR-1202. Moreover, longitudinal change of the BA44 connectivity with the striatal-thalamic region in MDDs after antidepressant treatment was found to be significantly related to the level of miR-1202 expression. These findings revealed that the in vivo neuropathological effect of miR-1202 dysregulation in depression is possibly exerted by mediating neural functional abnormalities in BA44-striatal-thalamic circuits.

Abstract
Vegetation resilience is critical for understanding the dynamic feedback effect of regional ecological environment stability against interferences. Thus, based on quantify the interferences of climate dryness and vegetation water deficit affecting vegetation growth function, incorporate mechanical Hooke's law to develop a vegetation resilience assessment model by quantitatively expressing vegetation growth function maintenance ability, to reveal the ecological environment stability and its feedback effect on interferences in the study area. The essential discoveries of the study are as follows: (1) with the increase of precipitation and the improvement of afforestation on soil erosion, the interferences intensity of climate dryness and vegetation water deficit in the ecological environment decreased by 5.88 % and 4.92 % respectively, the regional vegetation growth function loss was improved, especially in the southern region; (2) the decrease of vegetation growth function loss promoted the vegetation resilience level fluctuated from class II to class IV, with the average annual vegetation resilience increased by 7.02 %, reflecting that the regional ecological environment stability increased from difficult to rapid recovery after disturbance, and the benefit was especially noticeable in the eastern and southern forested areas; (3) the contribution rates of climate dryness and vegetation water deficit to the variation of vegetation resilience caused by vegetation restoration were -1.38 % and 4.73 %, respectively, and the prominent positive feedback effect of increasing vegetation resilience with decreasing vegetation water deficit degree in forest restoration area, indicating that the vegetation water deficit greatly impacts ecological environment stability in the study area, and forest restoration constantly improves regional ecological environment stability more than grassland restoration. This research has crucial guiding implications for supporting the sustainable development of regional ecological environments.

Abstract
Purpose Programmed cell death protein-1 ligand (PD-L1) is an important prognostic predictor for immunotherapy of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study aimed to develop a non-invasive deep learning and radiomics model based on positron emission tomography and computed tomography (PET/CT) to predict PD-L1 expression in NSCLC. Methods A total of 136 patients with NSCLC between January 2021 and September 2022 were enrolled in this study. The patients were randomly divided into the training dataset and the validation dataset in a ratio of 7:3. Radiomics feature and deep learning feature were extracted from their PET/CT images. The Mann-whitney U-test, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator algorithm and Spearman correlation analysis were used to select the top significant features. Then we developed a radiomics model, a deep learning model, and a fusion model based on the selected features. The performance of three models were compared by the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value. Results Of the patients, 42 patients were PD-L1 negative and 94 patients were PD-L1 positive. A total of 2446 radiomics features and 4096 deep learning features were extracted per patient. In the training dataset, the fusion model achieved a highest AUC (0.954, 95% confident internal [CI]: 0.890-0.986) compared with the radiomics model (0.829, 95%CI: 0.738-0.898) and the deep learning model (0.935, 95%CI: 0.865-0.975). In the validation dataset, the AUC of the fusion model (0.910, 95% CI: 0.779-0.977) was also higher than that of the radiomics model (0.785, 95% CI: 0.628-0.897) and the deep learning model (0.867, 95% CI: 0.724-0.952). Conclusion The PET/CT-based deep learning radiomics model can predict the PD-L1 expression accurately in NSCLC patients, and provides a non-invasive tool for clinicians to select positive PD-L1 patients.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the drug-resistant gene loci of Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) using metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS). Methods: From November 2022 to October 2023, 697 clinical samples (including sputum, alveolar lavage fluid and blood) of 686 children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae positive detected by mNGS were retrospectively analyzed. Samples were divided into intensive care unit (ICU) group and non-ICU group, Chi-square test was used to compare groups, and Mann-Kendall trend test was used to analyze the change trend of the detection rate of drug resistance gene loci over time. Results: Of the 697 samples, 164 were from the ICU group and 533 were from the non-ICU group. The detection rate of Mycoplasma pneumoniae resistance gene was 44.3% (309/697), and all detected drug-resistant gene loci of MP were A2063G. The detection rate of Mycoplasma pneumoniae in ICU group was 50.0% (82/164), and the detection rates of Mycoplasma pneumoniae resistance gene loci in sputum, alveolus lavage fluid and blood samples were 75.0% (18/24) and 48.4% (62/128), respectively. The detection rate in sputum was higher than alveolus lavage fluid samples (χ2=5.72,P=0.017). The detection rate of Mycoplasma pneumoniae in non-ICU group was 42.6% (227/533), the detection rate of Mycoplasma pneumoniae resistance gene loci in sputum and alveolar lavage fluid was 40.0% (16/40), 44.3% (201/454), and no detection rate in blood samples (0/12). There was no significant difference in the detection rate of alveolar lavage fluid and sputum (χ2=0.27, P=0.602). From November 2022 to October 2023, the detection rate of submitted samples showed an increasing trend month by month (overall: Z=3.99, ICU inspection group: Z=2.93, non-ICU group: Z=3.01, all P<0.01). Among the bacteria commonly detected with Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae accounted for the highest proportion, the detection rate was 15.5% (108/697), and Epstein-Barr virus accounted for the highest proportion of 17.6% (123/697). Conclusions: From November 2022 to October 2023, the detection rate of Mycoplasma pneumoniae drug resistance gene loci showed an increasing trend. The detection rate of drug resistance gene loci in sputum samples of ICU group was higher than alveolus lavage fluid. No new drug resistance site were detected.

Abstract
Lactate, an important exercise metabolite, induces white adipose tissue browning by upregulated uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) expression. However, the function of lactate during browning of inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT) caused by exercise is unclear. Here, we considered lactate as an exercise supplement and investigated the effects of chronic pre-exercise lactate administration on energy metabolism and adipose tissue browning. C57B/L6 male mice (5 weeks of age) were divided into six groups. We evaluated the changes in blood lactate levels in each group of mice after the intervention. Energy expenditure was measured after the intervention immediately by indirect calorimetry. The marker protein levels and gene expressions were determined by western-blot and quantitative real-time PCR. HIIT significantly decreased adipose tissue weight while increased energy expenditure and the expression of UCP1 in iWAT; however, these regulations were inhibited in the DCA+HIIT group. Compared with the MICT and LAC groups, long-term lactate injection before MICT led to lower WAT weight to body weight ratios and higher energy expenditure in mice. Furthermore, the marker genes of browning in iWAT, such as Ucp1 and Pparγ, were significantly increased in the LAC+MICT group than in the other groups, and the expression of monocarboxylate transporter-1 (Mct1) mRNA was also significantly increased. Lactate was involved in exercise-mediated browning of iWAT, and its mechanism might be the increased of lactate transport through MCT1 or PPARγ upregulation induced by exercise. These findings suggest exogenous lactate may be a new exercise supplement to regulate metabolism.

Abstract
Androgen deprivation therapies (ADT) are the mainstay treatments for castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). ADT suppresses the androgen receptor (AR) signaling by blocking androgen biosynthesis or inhibiting AR with antiandrogens that target AR's ligand-binding domain (LBD). However, the ADT's effect is short-lived, as the AR signaling inevitably arises again, which is frequently coupled with AR-V7 overexpression. AR-V7 is a truncated form of AR that lacks the LBD, thus being constitutively active in the absence of androgens and irresponsive to AR-LBD-targeting inhibitors. Though compelling evidence has tied AR-V7 to drug resistance in CRPC, pharmacological inhibition of AR-V7 is still an unmet need. Here, we discovered a small molecule, SC912, which binds to full-length AR as well as AR-V7 through AR N-terminal domain (AR-NTD). This pan-AR targeting relies on the amino acids 507-531 in the AR-NTD. SC912 also disrupted AR-V7 transcriptional activity, impaired AR-V7 nuclear localization and DNA binding. In the AR-V7 positive CRPC cells, SC912 suppressed proliferation, induced cell-cycle arrest, and apoptosis. In the AR-V7 expressing CRPC xenografts, SC912 attenuated tumor growth and antagonized intratumoral AR signaling. Together, these results suggested the therapeutic potential of SC912 for CRPC.

Abstract
Purpose This study aims to translate and validate the Learned Helplessness Scale (LHS) for use in the educational context and specifically among Chinese law school students. Understanding learned helplessness in the context of Chinese law students can provide unique insights into the interaction of legal education, psychological health, and cultural influences, thereby contributing to a more nuanced understanding of learned helplessness. Methods A total of 711 Chinese college students from two law schools participated in this study. The Learned Helplessness Scale (LHS) was translated into Chinese using forward and backward translation. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and construct validity were conducted to assess the dimensionality of the Chinese version of the LHS (Chinese LHS). Results The exploratory factor analysis indicated that the Chinese LHS has a four-factor structure consisting of 14 items, which accounted for 50% of the total variance. The subsequent confirmatory factor analysis further supported this four-factor structure. The internal consistency of the Chinese LHS was found to be medium to high, with Cronbach's α values ranging from 0.63 to 0.87 for the subfactors, and 0.79 for the total scale. In addition, concurrent validity is also confirmed. Conclusion The 14-item version of the Chinese LHS is a psychometric sound instrument for assessing learned helplessness among Chinese law school students.

Abstract
Although the rapid expansion of urban rail transit offers convenience to citizens, the issue of subway vibration cannot be overlooked. This study investigates the spatial distribution characteristics of vibration in the Fayuan Temple historic and cultural reserve. It involves using a V001 magnetoelectric acceleration sensor capable of monitoring low amplitudes with a sensitivity of 0.298 V/(m/s2), a measuring range of up to 20 m/s2, and a frequency range span from 0.5 to 100 Hz for in situ testing, analyzing the law of vibration propagation in this area, evaluating the impact on buildings, and determining the vibration reduction scheme. The reserve is divided into three zones based on the vertical vibration level measured during the in situ test as follows: severely excessive, generally excessive, and non-excessive vibration. Furthermore, the research develops a dynamic coupling model of vehicle-track-tunnel-stratum-structure to verify the damping effect of the wire spring floating plate track and periodic pile row. It compares the characteristics of three vibration reduction schemes, namely, internal vibration reduction reconstruction, periodic pile row, and anti-vibration reinforcement or reconstruction of buildings, proposing a comprehensive solution. Considering the construction conditions, difficulty, cost, and other factors, a periodic pile row is recommended as the primary treatment measure. If necessary, anti-vibration reinforcement or reconstruction of buildings can serve as supplemental measures.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder associated with reproductive dysfunction and metabolic abnormalities, particularly characterized by insulin resistance and chronic low-grade inflammation. Multiple clinical studies have clearly demonstrated the significant efficacy and safety of the combination of Bailing capsules (BL) in the treatment of PCOS, but its pharmacological effects and mechanisms still require further study. AIM OF THE STUDY To evaluate the effect of BL on improving PCOS in mice and explore the mechanism. METHODS In this study, Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) injection was administered alone and in combination with a high-fat and high-sugar diet to induce PCOS-like mouse. They were randomly divided into five groups: normal group (N), PCOS group (P), Bailing capsule low-dose group (BL-L), Bailing capsule high-dose group (BL-H) and Metformin + Daine-35 group (M + D). Firstly, the effects of BL on ovarian lesions, serum hormone levels, HOMA-IR, intestinal barrier function, inflammation levels, along with the expression of IRS1, PI3K, AKT, TLR4, Myd88, NF-κB p65, TNF-α, IL-6, and Occludin of the ovary, liver and colon were investigated. Finally, the composition of the gut microbiome of fecal was tested. RESULTS The administration of BL significantly reduced body weight, improved hormone levels, improved IR, and attenuated pathological damage to ovarian tissues, up-regulated the expression of IRS1, PI3K, and AKT in liver. It also decreased serum LPS, TNF-α, and IL-6 levels, while downregulating the expression of Myd88, TLR4, and NF-κB p65. Additionally, BL improved intestinal barrier damage and upregulated the expression of Occludin. Interestingly, the abundance of norank_f__Muribaculacea and Lactobacillus was down-regulated, while the abundance of Akkermansia was significantly up-regulated. CONCLUSION The results of the study showed that BL exerts a treatment PCOS effect, which may be related to the modulation of the gut microbiota, the improvement of insulin resistance and the intestinal-derived LPS-TLR4 inflammatory pathway. Our research will provide a theoretical basis for the clinical treatment of PCOS.

Abstract
Adversarial attack reveals a potential imperfection in deep models that they are susceptible to being tricked by imperceptible perturbations added to images. Recent deep multi-object trackers combine the functionalities of detection and association, rendering attacks on either the detector or the association component an effective means of deception. Existing attacks focus on increasing the frequency of ID switching, which greatly damages tracking stability, but is not enough to make the tracker completely ineffective. To fully explore the potential of adversarial attacks, we propose Blind-Blur Attack (BBA), a novel attack method based on spatio-temporal motion information to fool multi-object trackers. Specifically, a simple but efficient perturbation generator is trained with the blind-blur loss, simultaneously making the target invisible to the tracker and letting the background be regarded as moving targets. We take TraDeS as our main research tracker, and verify our attack method on other excellent algorithms (i.e., CenterTrack, FairMOT, and ByteTrack) on MOT-Challenge benchmark datasets (i.e., MOT16, MOT17, and MOT20). BBA attack reduced the MOTA of TraDeS and ByteTrack from 69.1 and 80.3 to -238.1 and -357.0, respectively, indicating that it is an efficient method with a high degrees of transferability.

Abstract
Leptadenia hastata (Pers.) Decne is a commonly used food source and prescribed as a traditional African medicine for treatment of various diseases, such as diabetes, skin disorders, wounds, and ulcers. However, quality control has become a bottleneck restricting the therapeutic development and utilization of this plant. In this study, a reliable method for qualitative and quantitative determination of components in Leptadenia hastata was established. The components of L. hastata were profiled using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadruple time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS). Subsequently, an ultra-high performance tandem diode array detector (UHPLC-DAD)-based method was used for simultaneous quantitative analysis of five major constituents in six batches of L. hastata samples. As a result, 35 compounds were tentatively identified. The quantities of the five constituents (vicenin-Ⅱ, orientin, schaftoside, chrysin 6-C-arabinoside 8-C-glucoside, chrysin 6-C-glucoside 8-C-arabinoside) were determined as 124.8-156.9 μg/g, 170.5-216.0 μg/g, 61.31-93.73 μg/g, 85.13-119.3 μg/g and 99.82-129.4 μg/g, respectively. This method offers a successful strategy for precise and effective evaluation of the constituents of L. hastata, providing a robust foundation for holistic quality assessment of medicinal plants.

Abstract
The ability of ferroelectric memristors to modulate conductance and offer multilevel storage has garnered significant attention in the realm of artificial synapses. On one hand, the resistance change of ferroelectric memristors mainly depends on the polarization reversal. On the other hand, the defects such as oxygen vacancies, which are inevitable presence during high-temperature processes, can undergo diffusion drift with the polarization reversal, thereby change the interface potential barrier. Thus, it is both desirable and necessary to investigate the synergistic effect of ferroelectricity and defects. Here, we prepare BaTiO3 ferroelectric memristor by pulse laser deposition and achieve resistance switching through the synergistic effect of ferroelectricity and oxygen vacancies. The memristor shows excellent switching characteristics with a large switching ratio (104) and good stability (103 s). It effectively emulates the features of artificial synapses and accomplishes decimal logical neural computing. In the neuromorphic system crafted with the memristor, the recognition accuracy of the 28 × 28 pixel image reaches 94.9%. These findings strongly support the research of ferroelectric memristors in neuromorphic devices.

Abstract
Aurora kinase A, as a pro-carcinogenic in gastric cancer and glioma kinase, is enhanced in several human tumors. However, it's regulatory mechanism in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains unclear. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the expression status, functional roles, and molecular mechanisms of AURKA in ESCC development. AURKA expression was analyzed by the screening of the GEO database and detected using an immunohistochemical method. The biological function of AURKA on ESCC was evaluated in vitro and in vivo. Western blot assay, malondialdehyde (MDA), iron, and glutathione (GSH) kits were utilized to assess changes in ferroptosis. Database analysis results showed that AURKA was a differential gene in ESCC and was highly expressed in human ESCC tissues. Functionally, AURKA knockdown decreased ESCC cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis both in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, when AURKA was knockdown, cells were more correctly blocked in the G2/M phase, and the ferroptosis-related MDA and Fe increased, whereas the GSH reduced. Consistently, Glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) and solute carrier family 7a member 11 (SLC7A11) expression were downregulated by AURKA knockdown. However, ferroptosis inhibitor partially restore ESCC cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis caused by AURKA knockdown. AURKA knockdown enhances ferroptosis and acts against cancer progression in ESCC. AURKA acts as a tumor-promoting gene and may serve as potential target for ESCC treatment.

Abstract
Aim Atractylodes macrocephala Rhizome (AM) has been used to treat hyperlipidemia for centuries, but its functional components and mechanisms are not clear. This research aimed to investigate the active components in AM and the mechanisms that underlie its anti-hyperlipidemia effect. Methods SD rats were fed a high-sucrose high-fat diet in conjunction with alcohol (HSHFDAC) along with different AM extracts (AMW, AMO, AME, and AMP) for 4 weeks. AM's active components were analyzed using multiple databases, and their mechanisms were explored through network pharmacology. The relationship between AM's effect of enhancing serum HDL-c and regulating the expression of reverse cholesterol transport (RCT)-related proteins (Apo-A1, LCAT, and SR-BI) was further validated in the HSHFDAC-induced hyperlipidemic rats. The kidney and liver functions of the rats were measured to evaluate the safety of AM. Results AMO, mainly comprised of volatile and liposoluble components, contributed the most significant anti-hyperlipidemia effect among the four extracts obtained from AM, significantly improving the blood lipid profile. Network pharmacology analysis also suggested that volatile and liposoluble components, comprise AM's main active components and they might act on signaling pathways associated with elevated HDL-c. Validation experiments found that AMO substantially and dose-dependently increased HDL-c levels, upregulated the expression of Apo-A1, SR-BI, and LCAT, improved the pathological changes in the kidney and liver, and significantly reduced the serum creatinine levels in rats with hyperlipidemia. Conclusion The main anti-hyperlipidemia active components of AM are its volatile and liposoluble components, which may enhance serum HDL-c by increasing the expression of the RCT-related proteins Apo-A1, LCAT, and SR-BI.

Abstract
Achieving sustainable dietary change is essential for safeguarding human and environmental health. However, dietary recommendations based on broad food groups may not accurately reflect real-world realities because individuals select and consume dishes with multiple food items influenced by diverse context-specific factors. Therefore, here we explored the sustainability trade-offs of dietary choices at the dish level through an optimization modeling approach tested in Japan. We estimated the nutritional quality, price, and carbon footprint of major Japanese dishes and examined 16 dietary scenarios to identify options that meet the nutritional requirements and minimize carbon footprint. Overall, mixed diets contain more combinations of dishes that meet nutritional requirements with lower carbon footprints compared to more restrictive dietary scenarios. We argue that the approach developed here enables a better understanding of dietary trade-offs, complements existing methods, and helps identify sustainable diets by offering nuanced information at the national and sub-national levels.

Abstract
Taking advantage of the well-defined geometry of metal centers and highly directional metal-ligand coordination bonds, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as promising candidates for nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. In this work, taking a photoresponsive carboxylate triphenylamine derivative as an organic ligand, a bismuth-based MOF, Bi-NBC, NBC = 4',4‴,4‴″-nitrilotris(([1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carboxylic acid)) is obtained. Structure determination reveals that it is a potential NLO material derived from its noncentrosymmetric structure, which is finally confirmed by its rarely strong second harmonic generation (SHG) effect. Theoretical calculations reveal that the potential difference around Bi atoms is large; therefore, it leads to a strong local built-in electric field, which greatly facilitates the charge separation and transfer and finally improves the photocatalytic performance. Our results provide a reference for the exploration of MOFs with NLO properties.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the associations of onset age, diabetes duration, and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels with ischemic stroke risk in type 2 diabetes patients. Methods: The participants were from Comprehensive Research on the Prevention and Control of the Diabetes in Jiangsu Province. The study used data from baseline survey from December 2013 to January 2014 and follow-up until December 31, 2021. After excluding the participants who had been diagnosed with stroke at baseline survey and those with incomplete information on onset age, diabetes duration, and HbA1c level, a total of 17 576 type 2 diabetes patients were included. Cox proportional hazard model was used to calculate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95%CI of onset age, diabetes duration, and HbA1c level for ischemic stroke. Results: During the median follow-up time of 8.02 years, 2 622 ischemic stroke cases were registered. Multivariate Cox proportional risk regression model showed that a 5-year increase in type 2 diabetes onset age was significantly associated with a 5% decreased risk for ischemic stroke (HR=0.95, 95%CI: 0.92-0.99). A 5-year increase in diabetes duration was associated with a 5% increased risk for ischemic stroke (HR=1.05, 95%CI: 1.02-1.10). Higher HbA1c (per 1 standard deviation increase:HR=1.17, 95%CI: 1.13-1.21) was associated with an increased risk for ischemic stroke. Conclusion: The earlier onset age of diabetes, longer diabetes duration, and high levels of HbA1c are associated with an increased risk for ischemic stroke in type 2 diabetes patients.

Abstract
Traditional approaches to coastal defence often struggle to reduce the risks of accelerated climate change. Incorporating nature-based components into coastal defences may enhance adaptation to climate change with added benefits, but we need to compare their performance against conventional hard measures. We conduct a meta-analysis that compares the performances of hard, hybrid, soft and natural measures for coastal defence across different functions of risk reduction, climate change mitigation, and cost-effectiveness. Hybrid and soft measures offer higher risk reduction and climate change mitigation benefits than unvegetated natural systems, while performing on par with natural measures. Soft and hybrid measures are more cost-effective than hard measures, while hybrid measures provide the highest hazard reduction among all measures. All coastal defence measures have a positive economic return over a 20-year period. Mindful of risk context, our results provide strong an evidence-base for integrating and upscaling nature-based components into coastal defences in lower risk areas.

Abstract
Background: It is important to understand cancer survivors' perceptions about their treatment decisions and quality of life. Methods: We performed a prospective observational cohort study of Canadian patients with small (<2 cm) low-risk papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) who were offered the choice of active surveillance (AS) or surgery (Clinicaltrials.gov NCT03271892). Participants completed a questionnaire one year after their treatment decision. The primary intention-to-treat analysis compared the mean decision regret scale total score between patients who chose AS or surgery. A secondary analysis examined one-year decision regret score according to treatment status. Secondary outcomes included quality of life, mood, fear of disease progression, and body image perception. We adjusted for age, sex, and follow-up duration in linear regression analyses. Results: The overall questionnaire response rate was 95.5% (191/200). The initial treatment choices of respondents were AS 79.1% (151/191) and surgery 20.9% (40/191). The mean age was 53 years (standard deviation [SD] 15 years) and 77% (147/191) were females. In the AS group, 7.3% (11/151) of patients crossed over to definitive treatment (two for disease progression) before the time of questionnaire completion. The mean level of decision regret did not differ significantly between patients who chose AS (mean 22.4, SD 13.9) or surgery (mean 20.9, SD 12.2) in crude (p = 0.730) or adjusted (p = 0.29) analyses. However, the adjusted level of decision regret was significantly higher in patients who initially chose AS and crossed over to surgery (beta coefficient 10.1 [confidence interval; CI 1.3-18.9], p = 0.02), compared with those remaining under AS. In secondary adjusted analyses, respondents who chose surgery reported that symptoms related to their cancer or its treatment interfered with life to a greater extent than those who chose AS (p = 0.02), but there were no significant group differences in the levels of depression, anxiety, fear of disease progression, or overall body image perception. Conclusions: In this study of patients with small, low-risk PTC, the mean level of decision regret pertaining to the initial disease management choice was relatively low after one year and it did not differ significantly for respondents who chose AS or surgery.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study was designed to conduct pooled comparisons of the relative clinical efficacy and safety of computed tomography (CT)-guided localization for pulmonary nodules (PNs) using either coil- or liquid material-based approaches. MATERIAL AND METHODS Relevant articles published as of July 2023 were identified in the Web of Science, PubMed, and Wanfang databases, and pooled analyses of relevant endpoints were then conducted. RESULTS Six articles that enrolled 287 patients (341 PNs) and 247 patients (301 PNs) that had respectively undergone CT-guided localization procedures using coil- and liquid material-based approaches prior to video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) were included in this meta-analysis. The liquid material group exhibited a significantly higher pooled successful localization rate as compared to the coil group (p = 0.01), together with significantly lower pooled total complication rates (p = 0.0008) and pneumothorax rates (p = 0.01). Both groups exhibited similar rates of pulmonary hemorrhage (p = 0.44) and successful wedge resection (p = 0.26). Liquid-based localization was also associated with significant reductions in pooled localization and VATS procedure durations (p = 0.004 and 0.007). CONCLUSIONS These data are consistent with CT-guided localization procedures performed using liquid materials being safer and more efficacious than coil-based localization in patients with PNs prior to VATS resection.

Abstract
Electrocardiogram (ECG) reconstruction from contact photoplethysmogram (PPG) would be transformative for cardiac monitoring. We investigated the fundamental and practical feasibility of such reconstruction by first replicating pioneering work in the field, with the aim of assessing the methods and evaluation metrics used. We then expanded existing research by investigating different cycle segmentation methods and different evaluation scenarios to robustly verify both fundamental feasibility, as well as practical potential. We found that reconstruction using the discrete cosine transform (DCT) and a linear ridge regression model shows good results when PPG and ECG cycles are semantically aligned-the ECG R peak and PPG systolic peak are aligned-before training the model. Such reconstruction can be useful from a morphological perspective, but loses important physiological information (precise R peak location) due to cycle alignment. We also found better performance when personalization was used in training, while a general model in a leave-one-subject-out evaluation performed poorly, showing that a general mapping between PPG and ECG is difficult to derive. While such reconstruction is valuable, as the ECG contains more fine-grained information about the cardiac activity as well as offers a different modality (electrical signal) compared to the PPG (optical signal), our findings show that the usefulness of such reconstruction depends on the application, with a trade-off between morphological quality of QRS complexes and precise temporal placement of the R peak. Finally, we highlight future directions that may resolve existing problems and allow for reliable and robust cross-modal physiological monitoring using just PPG.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Hyperlipidemia is characterized by the disorder of lipid metabolism accompanied by oxidative stress damage, and low-grade inflammation, with the pathway of cholesterol and bile acid metabolic are an important triggering mechanism. Polymethoxyflavones (PMFs) are the active constituents of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, which have many biological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant activities, anti-obesity, suppressing adipogenesis in adipocytes, and ameliorate type 2 diabetes, with potential roles for regulation of lipid metabolism. However, its associated mechanisms on hyperlipidemia remain unclear. AIM OF THE STUDY This study aims to identify the anti-hypercholesterolemia effects and mechanisms of PMFs in a hypercholesterolemia model triggered by high-fat compounds in an excessive alcohol diet (HFD). MATERIALS AND METHODS A hypercholesterolemia rat model was induced by HFD, and PMFs was intragastric administered at 125 and 250 mg/kg daily for 16 weeks. The effects of PMFs on hypercholesterolemia were assessed using serum lipids, inflammatory cytokines, and oxidative stress levels. Hematoxylin & eosin (H&E) and Oil Red O staining were performed to evaluate histopathological changes in the rat liver. The levels of total cholesterol (TC) and total bile acid (TBA) in the liver and feces were determined to evaluate lipid metabolism. RAW264.7 and BRL cells loaded with NBD-cholesterol were used to simulate the reverse cholesterol transport (RCT) process in vitro. The signaling pathway of cholesterol and bile acid metabolic was evaluated by Western Blotting (WB) and qRT-PCR. RESULTS Lipid metabolism disorders, oxidative stress injury, and low-grade inflammation in model rats were ameliorated by PMFs administration. Numerous vacuoles and lipid droplets in hepatocytes were markedly reduced. In vitro experiments results revealed decreased NBD-cholesterol levels in RAW264.7 cells and increased NBD-cholesterol levels in BRL cells following PMFs intervention. PMFs upregulated the expression of proteins associated with the RCT pathway, such as LXRα, ABCA1, LDLR, and SR-BI, thereby promoting TC entry into the liver. Meanwhile, the expression of proteins associated with cholesterol metabolism and efflux pathways such as CYP7A1, CYP27A1, CYP7B1, ABCG5/8, ABCB1, and BSEP were regulated, thereby promoting cholesterol metabolism. Moreover, PMFs treatment regulated the expression of proteins related to the pathway of enterohepatic circulation of bile acids, such as ASBT, OSTα, NTCP, FXR, FGF15, and FGFR4, thereby maintaining lipid metabolism. CONCLUSIONS PMFs might ameliorate hypercholesterolemia by promoting the entry of cholesterol into the liver through the RCT pathway, followed by excretion via metabolism pathways of cholesterol and bile acid. These findings provide a promising therapeutic potential for PMFs to treat hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the efficacy and safety of tranexamic acid (TXA) in preventing upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding in patients with gastric cancer. METHODS The clinical data of patients with gastric cancer complicated with acute non-operative GI bleeding treated in the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University from 2020 to 2022 were collected and retrospectively analyzed. The survival status of the patients was followed up by telephone. The dataset of 168 patients was divided into a control group (n=85) and a TXA group (n=83), at a 1:1 ratio. The patients in the control group were treated with esomeprazole, and the patients in the TXA group received additional TXA. The hemostatic effect, rebleeding rate, and mortality of patients were compared between the two groups. The Cox proportional hazard model was used to evaluate the overall survival of patients as well as the related risk factors. RESULTS The success rate of hemostasis and the normal blood coagulation rate in the TXA group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P=0.003 and P=0.016). The secondary bleeding rate, thrombus formation rate and digestive tract perforation rate in the TXA group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P=0.002, P=0.003 and P=0.035). The improvement of all indicators in the TXA group was better than that in the control group (all P<0.05). For patients with gastric cancer complicated with acute GI bleeding treated with TXA, the Cox proportional hazard model identified III~IV stage, time of TXA treatment, surgical treatment after hemorrhage, and an increase of D-dimer as independent risk factors for upper GI bleeding (all P<0.05). CONCLUSION TXA can be an effective treatment for patients with gastric cancer complicated by GI bleeding.

Abstract
A robust, microporous, and photoactive aluminum-based metal-organic framework (Al-MOF, LCU-600) has been assembled by an in situ-formed [Al3O(CO2)6] trinuclear building unit and a tritopic carbazole ligand. LCU-600 shows a high water stability and permanent porosity for N2 and CO2 adsorption. Notably, the incorporation of photoresponsive carbazole moieties into LCU-600 makes it a highly efficient and recyclable photocatalyst for aerobic photo-oxidation of sulfides into sulfoxides under an air atmosphere at room temperature. Mechanism investigations unveil that photogenerated holes (h+), superoxide radical anion (O2•-), and singlet oxygen (1O2) are critical active spices for the photo-oxidation reaction performed in an air atmosphere.

Abstract
In this study, four isostructural pillar-layered frameworks were constructed using a porphyrin layer and an anthracene pillar, which served as the sensitizer and annihilator, respectively, in the triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC) system. Framework 1 demonstrated the highest upconversion quantum yield of 1.01%. Additionally, 1 and 2 also exhibited down-conversion fluorescence resulting from the porphyrin component. A twist intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) state was observed in the bianthracene chromophore of 2, resulting in transient rotation of two anthracene rings and red-shifted emission. Both computational studies and experiments confirmed the transition from a locally excited state to a TICT state upon the inclusion of polar guest molecules into the framework.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the prospective association of sleep duration with the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults in Suzhou. Methods: The study used the data of 53 269 participants aged 30-79 years recruited in the baseline survey from 2004 to 2008 and the follow-up until December 31, 2017 of China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) conducted in Wuzhong District, Suzhou. After excluding participants with airflow limitation, self-reported chronic bronchitis/emphysema/coronary heart disease history at the baseline survey and abnormal or incomplete data, a total of 45 336 participants were included in the final analysis. The association between daily sleep duration and the risk for developing COPD was analyzed by using a Cox proportional hazard regression model, and the hazard ratio (HR) values and their 95%CI were calculated. The analysis was stratified by age, gender and lifestyle factors, and cross-analysis was conducted according to smoking status and daily sleep duration. Results: The median follow-up time was 11.12 years, with a total of 515 COPD diagnoses in the follow-up. After adjusting for potential confounders, multifactorial Cox proportional hazard regression analysis showed that daily sleep duration ≥10 hours was associated with higher risk for developing COPD (HR=1.42, 95%CI: 1.03-1.97). The cross analysis showed that excessive daily sleep duration increased the risk for COPD in smokers (HR=2.49, 95%CI: 1.35-4.59, interaction P<0.001). Conclusion: Longer daily sleep duration (≥10 hours) might increase the risk for COPD in adults in Suzhou, especially in smokers.

Abstract
Lycorine is a naturally active alkaloid that has been shown to have inhibitory effects on a variety of cancers. However, the underlying mechanism of lycorine in the treatment of glioblastoma (GBM) is unclear. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of lycorine in the treatment of GBM based on network pharmacology and molecular docking. Lycorine-related targets overlapped with GBM-related targets to obtain intersections that represent potential anti-GBM targets for lycorine. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed using the STRING online database and analyzed by Cytoscape software, and 10 key target genes (AKT1, SRC, HSP90AA1, HRAS, MMP9, BCL2L1, IGF1, MAPK14, STAT1, and KDR) were obtained, which played an important role in the therapeutic effect of lycorine on GBM. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis showed that lycorine acts on GBM by multiple pathways, including inducing apoptosis and reactive oxygen species production. The molecular docking results showed that lycorine had strong binding efficiency with the 10 key genes. In addition, we found that the use of lycorine-induced apoptosis in U-87 MG glioblastoma cells. Here, the mechanism of action of lycorine against GBM was elucidated and verified by experiments, which provided evidence support for its clinical application.

Abstract
Human brain microvascular endothelial cells (hBMECs) are the main component cells of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and play a crucial role in responding to viral infections to prevent the central nervous system (CNS) from viral invasion. Interferon-inducible transmembrane protein 1 (IFITM1) is a multifunctional membrane protein downstream of type-I interferon. In this study, we discovered that hIFITM1 expression was highly upregulated in hBMECs during Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) infection. Depletion of hIFITM1 with CRISPR/Cas9 in hBMECs enhanced JEV replication, while overexpression of hIFITM1 restricted the viruses. Additionally, overexpression of hIFITM1 promoted the monolayer formation of hBMECs with a better integrity and a higher transendothelial electrical resistance (TEER), and reduced the penetration of JEV across the BBB. However, the function of hIFITM1 is governed by palmitoylation. Mutations of palmitoylation residues in conserved CD225 domain of hIFITM1 impaired its antiviral capacity. Moreover, mutants retained hIFITM1 in the cytoplasm and lessened its interaction with tight junction protein Occludin. Taken together, palmitoylation of hIFITM1 is essential for its antiviral activity in hBMECs, and more notably, for the maintenance of BBB homeostasis.

Abstract
Lycorine is a kind of natural active ingredient with a strong antitumor effect. In this study, folate ligand-conjugated polyethylene glycol-block-poly(l-lactide) (PEG-PLLA) nanoparticles (FA-PEG-PLLA NPs) were designed to deliver lycorine to enhance its anti-glioma activity. The successful preparation of the FA-PEG-PLLA polymer was confirmed by 1H-NMR, FT-IR, XRD, TGA, and DSC. The optimal formulation for LYC@FA-PEG-PLLA NPs was determined by response surface analysis as follows: sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) of 1%, carrier material of 0.03 g, organic phase volume of 3 mL, and ultrasonic power of 20%. The LYC@FA-PEG-PLLA NPs exhibited an encapsulation efficiency of 83.58% and a particle size of 49.71 nm, demonstrating good stability. Hemolysis experiments, MTT assays, and cell scratch assays revealed excellent biocompatibility of FA-PEG-PLLA and superior anti-glioma activity of LYC@FA-PEG-PLLA NPs compared to the raw drug. Additionally, cell apoptosis assays, ROS experiments, and western blot analysis demonstrated that LYC@FA-PEG-PLLA NPs contributed to cell apoptosis by inducing ROS generation and increasing the expression of NF-κB inhibitory protein IκBα. These results suggested that LYC@FA-PEG-PLLA NPs hold promise for glioma treatment.

Abstract
Seeking highly efficient and stable non-linear optical (NLO) materials is crucial yet challenging, given their promising applications in laser diodes and photovoltaics. In this study, we employ the excess electron and charge transfer strategies to theoretically design three novel complexes, namely Agn@C18 (n = 4-6), by adsorbing silver clusters onto the cyclo[18]carbon ring (C18). Our aim is to investigate the NLO characteristics of these complexes using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) calculations. The results reveal that the adsorption of Ag clusters onto C18 leads to a decrease in excitation energy and an increase in dipole moment and oscillator strengths, thereby significantly enhancing the hyperpolarizability of the complexes. Strikingly, among all these complexes, Ag6@C18 exhibits the highest first hyperpolarizability value of approximately 109496.2620 au calculated at the B3LYP/cc-PVDZ-pp level of theory, which is about 1.3 × 106 times higher than that of pure C18. This finding validates the effectiveness of the proposed strategies in enhancing the NLO response of the species. Moreover, the calculated UV-Vis absorption spectrum demonstrates that the Agn@C18 complexes with excess electrons exhibit absorption at longer wavelengths (ranging from 385 to 731 nm) compared to C18. In addition, the stability, chemical bonding, and charge transfer characteristics of the Agn@C18 (n = 4-6) complexes were also discussed. These findings highlight the potential of these complexes for the development of highly efficient NLO devices.

Abstract
A robust and porous titanium metal-organic framework (Ti-MOF; LCU-505) has been solvothermally synthesized based on an unprecedented tetranuclear Ti2(μ3-O)2Tb2(μ2-CH3COO)2(H2O)4(OOC-)8 cluster (abbreviated as [Ti2Tb2]) and tritopic 4,4',4''-s-triazine-2,4,6-triyl-tribenzoic acid ligand (H3TATB). LCU-505 shows remarkable water stability and permanent porosity for N2 and CO2 gas adsorption. Moreover, LCU-505 demonstrates n-type semiconductor behavior and good photocatalytic activity in the degradation of organic dyes.

Abstract
Polyphenol oxidases (PPOs) are type-3 copper enzymes and are involved in many biological processes. However, the potential functions of PPOs in pollination are not fully understood. In this work, we have screened 13 PPO members in Nicotiana. tabacum (named NtPPO1-13, NtPPOs) to explore their characteristics and functions in pollination. The results show that NtPPOs are closely related to PPOs in Solanaceae and share conserved domains except NtPPO4. Generally, NtPPOs are diversely expressed in different tissues and are distributed in pistil and male gametes. Specifically, NtPPO9 and NtPPO10 are highly expressed in the pistil and mature anther. In addition, the expression levels and enzyme activities of NtPPOs are increased after N. tabacum self-pollination. Knockdown of NtPPOs would affect pollen growth after pollination, and the purines and flavonoid compounds are accumulated in self-pollinated pistil. Altogether, our findings demonstrate that NtPPOs potentially play a role in the pollen tube growth after pollination through purines and flavonoid compounds, and will provide new insights into the role of PPOs in plant reproduction.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To systematically review the evidence about the effect of haloperidol on postoperative delirium in elderly patients. METHODS PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were used to find concerned studies for meta-analysis. The main outcome was the incidence of postoperative delirium, and the secondary outcomes were side effects of haloperidol and the length of hospital stay. The meta-analyses were conducted using the Review Manager Version 5.1. This study was conducted based on the PRISMA statement. RESULTS Eight RCTs (1569 patients) were included in the meta-analysis. There was a significant difference in the incidence of postoperative delirium between haloperidol and control groups (OR = 0.62, 95%CI 0.48-0.80, P = 0.0002, I2 = 20%). In addition, side effects of haloperidol and the duration of hospitalization were comparable (OR = 0.58, 95%CI 0.25-1.35, P = 0.21, I2 = 0%; MD =-0.01, 95%CI -0.16-0.15, P = 0.92, I2 = 28%). Subgroup analysis implied the effect of haloperidol on postoperative delirium might vary with the dose (5 mg daily: OR = 0.40, 95%CI 0.22-0.71, P = 0.002, I2 = 0%; <5 mg daily: OR = 0.72, 95%CI 0.42-1.23, P = 0.23, I2 = 0%). CONCLUSIONS The meta-analysis revealed perioperative application of haloperidol could decrease the occurrence of postoperative delirium without obvious side effects in elderly people, and high-dose haloperidol (5 mg daily) possessed a greater positive effect.

Abstract
With the aim to study the mechanism underlying the macroalgal carbon sequestration driven by microbes, we investigated the microbial community using metagenomics methods and its long-term degradation of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) derived from Undaria pinnatifida. It was observed that after removing U. pinnatifida, the concentration of the DOC decreased significantly (p < 0.05) within 4 days. Over a period of 120 days of degradation, the concentration of remaining DOC (26%) remained stable. The succession of microbial community corresponded to the three stages of DOC concentration variation. Moreover, the structure of microbes community and its metabolic function exhibited evident patterns of succession. The concentration of DOC was correlated negatively with the abundances of Planctomycetaceae (p < 0.01), and was correlated positively with the abundances of Roseobacteraceae and Rhodobacteraceae (p < 0.01). In addition, the metabolic pathways related to "Glycolysis/Gluconeogenesis", "Alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism", "Citrate cycle (TCA cycle)" and "Tryptophan metabolism" was significantly correlated with the variations in DOC concentration (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the variation in the DOC concentration was closely linked to the succession of Planctomycetaceae, Roseobacteraceae, Rhodobacteraceae, and the degradation of DOC derived from U. pinnatifida appeared to be influenced by metabolic functions.

Abstract
Standardized morphological evaluation in pathology is usually qualitative. Classifying and qualitatively analyzing the nucleated cells in the bone marrow aspirate images based on morphology is crucial for the diagnosis of acute myoid leukemia (AML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), etc. However, it is time-consuming and difficult to accurately identify nucleated cells and calculate the percentage of the cells because of the complexity of bone marrow aspirate images. This paper proposed a deep learning analysis model of bone marrow aspirate images, termed Cell Detection and Confirmation Network (CDC-NET), for the aided diagnosis of AML by improving the accuracy of cell detection and recognition. Specifically, we take the nucleated cells in the bone marrow aspirate images as the detection objects to establish the model. Since some cells from different categories have similar morphology, classification error is inevitable. We design a confirmation network in which multiple trained classifiers work as pathologists to confirm the cell category by a voting method. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, experiments on clinical microscopic datasets are conducted. The Recall and Precision of CDC-NET are 78.54% and 91.74% respectively, and the missed rate of our method is lower than those of the other popular methods. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed model has the potential for the pathological analysis of aspirate smears and the aided diagnosis of AML.

Abstract
Cold drink and high-fat diet (CDHFD) are common diet patterns. However, the potential risks remain unclear. We investigated the effects of CDHFD in adult mice and explored the mechanisms of action. Twenty adult male mice were randomly divided into control and model groups, and the control group was fed a normal diet, whereas the model group was fed CDHFD for 28 days. We found that mice in the model group developed diarrhea symptoms accompanied by fatigue and weakness. Analysis of the intestinal flora revealed that the model group had a lower diversity and richness of microorganism species in the gut than the control group. Furthermore, the characteristic analysis indicated that CDHFD downregulated specific bacteria, such as norank_f_Muribaculaceae, Muribaculum, and Odoribacter, which are known to be associated with the systemic inflammatory response and mucosal barrier function. Blood tests showed that immune cells and inflammatory cytokines were significantly elevated in the model group, along with increased LPS induced by CDHFD. Pathological investigations demonstrated that CDHFD damages the intestinal mucosa while affecting the expression of tight junction proteins, including ZO-1, Claudin-1, Claudin-2, and Occludin, which may be attributed to the activation of the TRAF6/IκB/p65 signaling pathway. In conclusion, impaired gut microbial and mechanical barrier function is responsible for CDHFD-induced diarrhea. In this study, we constructed a model of diet-induced diarrhea by simulating human dietary patterns, evaluated the long-term effects of CDHFD on human intestinal barriers and immune systems, and revealed its mechanism of action based on chronic inflammation. This study validated the model's fit to provide an effective screening model for drug or functional food development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) is prevalent in immunocompromised populations, including patients with hematologic malignancies, human immunodeficiency virus infections, and chronic diseases. Effective treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) combined with PTB is lacking. These patients show an extremely poor prognosis. Therefore, studies should establish efficient treatment options to improve patient survival and prognosis. CASE SUMMARY A 60-year-old male with pain in the right side of his chest and a fever for 4 d visited the outpatient department of our hospital. Peripheral blood smear revealed 54% blasts. Following bone marrow examinations, variant APL with TNRC18-RARA fusion gene was diagnosed. Chest computed tomography scan showed bilateral pneumonitis with bilateral pleural effusions, partial atelectasis in the lower lobes of both lungs, and the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid gene X-Pert test was positive, indicative of PTB. Carrimycin, ethambutol (EMB), and isoniazid (INH) were administered since he could not receive chemotherapy as the WBC count decreased continuously. After one week of treatment with carrimycin, the patient recovered from fever and received chemotherapy. Chemotherapy was very effective and his white blood cells counts got back to normal. After being given five months with rifampin, EMB and INH and chemotherapy, the patient showed complete remission from pneumonia and APL. CONCLUSION We report a case of PTB treated successfully with carrimycin with APL that requires chemotherapy.

Abstract
Packaging color entices and influences consumer perceptions and significantly affects the identification of products. Marketers manipulate the exterior packaging to influence consumer expectations, experiences, and behaviors. Building upon psychological literature on colors and emotions, we explored the influence of food packaging color and food type on consumers' purchase intentions. Study 1 explored the interaction effects between food packaging color (warm vs. cold) and food type (vice foods vs. virtue foods) on consumers' purchase intentions. Study 2 examined whether perceived fluency mediates the interaction effect of food packaging color and food type on consumers' purchase intentions. The results showed that for vice foods, characterized by tastiness but unhealthiness, the utilization of warm-colored food packaging enhances consumer purchase intent. In contrast, for virtue foods that are healthful but lack gustatory appeal, the use of cold food packaging colors will lead to higher consumer purchase intent. Perceived fluency mediates the interaction effect of food packaging color and food type on consumers' purchase intentions. This study will assist marketers to exploring a range of possibilities for packing color, impacting both the physiological and cognitive dimensions of consumer behavior related to food products, and offering practical implications for market managers.

Abstract
Controllable ring-opening of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons plays a crucial role in various chemical and biological processes. However, breaking down aromatic covalent C-C bonds is exceptionally challenging due to their high stability and strong aromaticity. This study presents a seminal report on the precise and highly selective on-surface ring-opening of the seven-membered ring within the aromatic azulene moieties under mild conditions. The chemical structures of the resulting products were identified using bond-resolved scanning probe microscopy. Furthermore, through density functional theory calculations, we uncovered the mechanism behind the ring-opening process and elucidated its chemical driving force. The key to achieving this ring-opening process lies in manipulating the local aromaticity of the aromatic azulene moiety through strain-induced internal ring rearrangement and cyclodehydrogenation. By precisely controlling these factors, we successfully triggered the desired ring-opening reaction. Our findings not only provide valuable insights into the ring-opening process of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons but also open up new possibilities for the manipulation and reconstruction of these important chemical structures.

Abstract
Two novel B-embedded disulfide-bridged π-conjugated compounds (BS-CZ and BS-N) bearing different electron donor groups (phenyl carbazole and triphenylamine) have been prepared and show different optical mechanisms. The compound BS-CZ exhibits significant multiple resonance thermal activation delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) properties with a small singlet-triplet energy gap (ΔEST = 0.16 eV) and a narrow half-peak full width (FWHM = 33 nm), while the compound BS-N shows traditional fluorescence luminescence (FL) characteristics with a larger ΔEST (0.28 eV) and FWHM (57 nm). Time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations show that the lowest excited singlet state (S1) of the compound BS-CZ exhibits local excited (LE) state characteristics, while the charge transfer (CT) state characteristics can be found in S1 of the compound BS-N. Considering good optical performance, the compound BS-CZ is used as an emitting layer of the organic light-emitting diode device and achieved saturated blue emission (473 nm) with a narrow FWHM (39 nm), and CIE color coordinates of (0.12, 0.21). This work provides an important strategy for the optical mechanism regulation and photoelectric applications of B-embedded disulfide-bridged π-conjugated molecules.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the distribution and hantavirus (HV) carrying state in host animals of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in Henan Province from 2019 to 2022. Methods: Host animal monitoring was carried out at the monitoring sites of HFRS in Henan Province. The real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect hantavirus in rat lungs. The types of hantavirus were analyzed. The positive samples were sequenced and then sequence homology and variation were analyzed. Results: A total of 1 308 rodents were captured from 2019 to 2022, 16 specimens of rat lungs tested positive for hantavirus nucleic acid. The positive rate of HV was 1.22% (16/1 308). According to type, the positive rate of HV in Apodius agrarius was the highest (68.75%, 11/16). According to distribution, the positive rate of HV in field samples was the highest (2.50%, 12/480), and the positive rate of HV in residential samples was 0.53% (4/759). The typing results of 16 positive samples showed that all viruses were hantavirus type Ⅰ (hantaan virus). The positive samples were sequenced and eight S gene fragments (GenBank number: OQ681444-OQ681451) and six M gene fragments (OQ681438-OQ681443) were obtained. The S and M gene fragments were similar to the Shaanxi 84FLi strain and Sichuan SN7 strain. Phylogenetic analysis of S and M gene fragments showed that they all belonged to the hantaan virus-H5 subtype. Amino acid sequence analysis revealed that, compared with the hantaan virus vaccine strain 84FLi, the 74th amino acid encoded by eight S fragments was replaced by aspartamide with serine. Tryptophan was replaced by glycine at the 14th position of Gn region in XC2022047, and isoleucine was replaced by alanine at the 359 position of XC2022022 and XC2022024. Conclusion: The hantavirus carried by host animals in Henan Province from 2019 to 2022 belongs to the type Ⅰ (hantaan virus), and Apodemus agrarius is still the dominant host animal of the hantaan virus. Compared with the vaccine strains, amino acid sites are replaced in the immune epitopes of the S and M gene fragments.

Abstract
Photocatalytic overall water splitting into hydrogen and oxygen is desirable for long-term renewable, sustainable and clean fuel production on earth. Metal sulfides are considered as ideal hydrogen-evolved photocatalysts, but their component homogeneity and typical sulfur instability cause an inert oxygen production, which remains a huge obstacle to overall water-splitting. Here, a distortion-evoked cation-site oxygen doping of ZnIn2S4 (D-O-ZIS) creates significant electronegativity differences between adjacent atomic sites, with S1 sites being electron-rich and S2 sites being electron-deficient in the local structure of S1-S2-O sites. The strong charge redistribution character activates stable oxygen reactions at S2 sites and avoids the common issue of sulfur instability in metal sulfide photocatalysis, while S1 sites favor the adsorption/desorption of hydrogen. Consequently, an overall water-splitting reaction has been realized in D-O-ZIS with a remarkable solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 0.57%, accompanying a ~ 91% retention rate after 120 h photocatalytic test. In this work, we inspire an universal design from electronegativity differences perspective to activate and stabilize metal sulfide photocatalysts for efficient overall water-splitting.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The impact of previous vaccination on protective immunity, duration, and immune imprinting in the context of BA.5-XBB.1.9.1 reinfection remains unknown. METHODS Based on a 2-year longitudinal cohort from vaccination, BA.5 infection and XBB reinfection, several immune effectors, including neutralizing antibodies (Nabs), antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), virus-specific T cell immunity were measured to investigate the impact of previous vaccination on host immunity induced by BA.5 breakthrough infection and BA.5-XBB.1.9.1 reinfection. FINDINGS In absence of BA.5 Nabs, plasma collected 3 months after receiving three doses of inactivated vaccine (I-I-I) showed high ADCC that protected hACE2-K18 mice from fatality and significantly reduced viral load in the lungs and brain upon BA.5 challenge, compared to plasma collected 12 months after I-I-I. Nabs against XBB.1.9.1 induced by BA.5 breakthrough infection were low at day 14 and decreased to a GMT of 10 at 4 months and 28% (9/32) had GMT ≤4, among whom 67% (6/9) were reinfected with XBB.1.9.1 within 1 month. However, 63% (20/32) were not reinfected with XBB.1.9.1 at 5 months post BA.5 infection. Interestingly, XBB.1.9.1 reinfection increased Nabs against XBB.1.9.1 by 24.5-fold at 14 days post-reinfection, which was much higher than that against BA.5 (7.3-fold) and WT (4.5-fold), indicating an immune imprinting shifting from WT to XBB antigenic side. INTERPRETATION Overall, I-I-I can provide protection against BA.5 infection and elicit rapid immune response upon BA.5 infection. Furthermore, BA.5 breakthrough infection effectively protects against XBB.1.9.1 lasting more than 5 months, and XBB.1.9.1 reinfection results in immune imprinting shifting from WT antigen induced by previous vaccination to the new XBB.1.9.1 antigen. These findings strongly suggest that future vaccines should target variant strain antigens, replacing prototype strain antigens. Abstract
The main objective of the present study was to investigate whether forced vital capacity (FVC)%/diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (DLCO)% can be used to predict the presence of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in connective tissue disorders (CTDs). For this purpose, a total of 53 individuals who were diagnosed with CTDs and had undergone right heart catheterization between July, 2019 and July, 2022 were included in the present study. Based on the mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) measured during right heart catheterization, the participants were divided into the PH and non-PH groups. The differences in demographic characteristics, including sex, age, body mass index, smoking index, FVC%/DLCO% and pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) were determined by echocardiography; moreover, the 6-min walk distance, plasma brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels, white blood cell count, red blood cell distribution width, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein levels were compared between the two groups to identify independent predictors of PH. The independent predictors were subsequently evaluated for their correlation with mPAP to assess their predictive value for PH. FVC%/DLCO%, echocardiographic PASP, and plasma BNP levels were identified as independent predictors of PH. FVC%/DLCO% and echocardiographic PASP exhibited a significant correlation with mPAP, while the correlation between plasma BNP and mPAP levels was not statistically significant. The area under the curve (AUC) value for FVC%/DLCO% alone in predicting PH was 0.791, with an optimal diagnostic threshold of 1.35, a sensitivity of 0.794 and a specificity of 0.789. The AUC for echocardiographic PASP alone in predicting PH was 0.783, with an optimal diagnostic threshold of 39.5 mmHg, a sensitivity of 0.794 and a specificity of 0.684. When combined, the AUC of the two factors in predicting PH was 0.872, with a sensitivity of 0.941 and a specificity of 0.684. Collectively, the data of the present study indicate that FVC%/DLCO% may be used as a predictive factor for CTD-PH, and its combined application with echocardiographic PASP measurement may provide additional evidence for the clinical diagnosis of CTD-PH.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Improving neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) management is an important concern, and objective measures of its physiologic impact remain elusive. We sought to determine whether near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)-derived tissue oxygenation (rSO2) and fractional tissue oxygen extraction (FTOE) demonstrated physiologically plausible changes correlating with standard NAS scoring. METHODS Thirty subjects (mean 39 weeks' GA and 3 127 g BW) underwent cerebral and peripheral muscle NIRS monitoring on Days of Life (DOL) Three, Five, and Seven. We examined correlations between NAS scores and FTOE and assessed the impact of non-pharmacologic swaddling and cuddling. RESULTS No statistically significant correlations between NAS scores and FTOE were observed; however, plausible trends were demonstrated between NAS scores and cerebral measurements. Buprenorphine-exposed babies (57%) showed significantly lower FTOE when swaddled (DOL7). CONCLUSIONS Tissue oxygenation monitoring demonstrates potential to provide objective, clinically relevant physiologic information on infants at risk for NAS. Further study is required to determine whether NIRS-derived measures could assist in individualizing NAS care.

Abstract
Polysaccharides are known to confer protection against glycolipid metabolism disorders (GMD) by regulating intestinal flora. In this study, a heterogeneous acidic heteropolysaccharide with high molecular weight mainly composed of fructose was isolated from Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz (AMP). Supplementation with AMP was shown to improve diet-induced GMD in a rat model, including decreasing the levels of serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, and glucose, and improving hepatic lipidosis and islet cells morphologies. AMP-treated rats also exhibited modified intestinal flora with enrichments of intestinal Lactobacillus and Rothia species, which was accompanied by increased tryptophan metabolites such as indole-3-propionic acid, indole, tryptamine, and tryptophol. These metabolites promote the expression of intestinal aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) in nuclear fractions. AhR activation increased the expression levels of IL-22 and GLP-1 proteins and mRNA. IL-22 reduced systemic LPS by upregulating the expression of tight junction proteins, antimicrobial peptides, and mucin to ameliorate intestinal barrier function, and activated the hepatic IL-22R/Stat3/Acox1 signaling pathway to improve lipid metabolism. GLP-1 activated the pancreatic GLP-1R/p-CREB signaling pathway to ameliorate β-cell injury and improve insulin resistance. Therefore, the intestinal microbial-tryptophan metabolism-AhR pathway was deduced to be a mechanism by which this polysaccharide improves GMD.
