Abstract
BACKGROUND Endometrial cancer is a malignant tumour with a high incidence and mortality rate, and obesity is one of the most significant risk factors for the disease. However, it remains unclear whether leptin affects cell activity, proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). MATERIALS AND METHODS Samples of endometrial cancer tissue were obtained from clinical patients and nude mice Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) were performed to assess leptin levels. Western blotting, immunohistochemical (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) analyses were conducted to detect EMT, JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathway proteins, and cell proliferation biomarkers. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assays, 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining, and Transwell assays were used to evaluate cell activity, proliferation, migration, and invasion, respectively. RESULTS ELISA, western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC) analyses showed that leptin was highly expressed, and the JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathway was activated in endometrial cancer patients. Cell-based experiments showed that adipocytes secreted leptin, which increased the levels of leptin, and also promoted cell migration and invasion, EMT transition, and cell activity and proliferation. Leptin accelerated cell progression and promoted EMT via the JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathway in a dose-dependent manner. The tumour-promoting effect of leptin on endometrial cancer cells was further verified by in vivo experiments, in which leptin promoted tumour growth and activated the JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathway. Abstract
This study investigated the regulatory effects of Sporisorium reilianum polysaccharides (SRPS) on metabolism and the intestinal barrier in mice with colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). SRPS were resistant to the digestion of saliva, gastric juices, and intestinal fluid. SRPS significantly reduced the disease activity index and inhibited DSS-induced colon shortening. The expression of proinflammatory cytokines in the colon was normal (P < 0.05). Acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, isobutyric acid, and isovaleric acid contents increased. Moreover, 64 biomarker metabolites were affected, including 42 abnormal decreases and 22 abnormal increases caused by DSS, which targeted amino acid biosynthesis; tryptophan metabolism; protein digestion and absorption; aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis; and glycine, serine, and threonine metabolism. In addition, SRPS reduced goblet cell loss and increased mucin secretion. The short-chain fatty acid receptor GPR41 was activated, and zonula occludens-1 and occludin expression levels were upregulated. Epithelial cell apoptosis was inhibited by increased Bcl-2 and decreased Bax expression NLRP3, ASC, and caspase-1 protein levels decreased. Intestinal barrier damage improved, and colon inflammation was reduced. Thus, our preliminary findings reveal that SRPS regulates metabolism and has the potential to protect the intestinal barrier in ulcerative colitis mice.

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the induction effect of LncRNA-CIR6 on MSC differentiation into cardiogenic cells in vitro and in vivo. In addition to pretreatment with Ro-3306 (a CDK1 inhibitor), LncRNA-CIR6 was transfected into BMSCs and hUCMSCs using jetPRIME. LncRNA-CIR6 was further transfected into the hearts of C57BL/6 mice via 100 μL of AAV9-cTnT-LncRNA-CIR6-ZsGreen intravenous injection. After three weeks of transfection followed by AMI surgery, hUCMSCs (5 × 105/100 μL) were injected intravenously one week later. Cardiac function was evaluated using VEVO 2100 and electric mapping nine days after cell injection. Immunofluorescence, Evans blue-TTC, Masson staining, FACS, and Western blotting were employed to determine relevant indicators. LncRNA-CIR6 induced a significant percentage of differentiation in BMSCs (83.00 ± 0.58)% and hUCMSCs (95.43 ± 2.13)% into cardiogenic cells, as determined by the expression of cTnT using immunofluorescence and FACS. High cTNT expression was observed in MSCs after transfection with LncRNA-CIR6 by Western blotting. Compared with the MI group, cardiac contraction and conduction function in MI hearts treated with LncRNA-CIR6 or combined with MSCs injection groups were significantly increased, and the areas of MI and fibrosis were significantly lower. The transcriptional expression region of LncRNA-CIR6 was on Chr17 from 80209290 to 80209536. The functional region of LncRNA-CIR6 was located at nucleotides 0-50/190-255 in the sequence. CDK1, a protein found to be related to the proliferation and differentiation of cardiomyocytes, was located in the functional region of the LncRNA-CIR6 secondary structure (from 0 to 17). Ro-3306 impeded the differentiation of MSCs into cardiogenic cells, while MSCs transfected with LncRNA-CIR6 showed a high expression of CDK1. LncRNA-CIR6 mediates the repair of infarcted hearts by inducing MSC differentiation into cardiogenic cells through CDK1.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Tenecteplase (TNK) has demonstrated non-inferiority to alteplase in patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke presenting within 4.5 hours from symptom onset. The trial is aimed to explore the efficacy and safety of TNK in Chinese patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke with large/medium vessel occlusion in an extended time window. METHODS AND DESIGN Chinese Acute Tissue-Based Imaging Selection for Lysis In Stroke Tenecteplase II (CHABLIS-T II) is a multicentre, prospective, block-randomised, open-label, blinded-endpoint, phase IIb study. Eligible patients are 1:1 randomised into two groups: 0.25 mg/kg TNK versus best medical management (excluding TNK). The safety and efficacy of 0.25 mg/kg TNK are assessed through reperfusion status and presence of symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage (sICH). STUDY OUTCOMES The primary outcome is major reperfusion without sICH at 24-48 hours after randomisation. Major reperfusion is defined as restoration of blood flow to greater than 50% of the involved ischaemic territory assessed by catheter angiography or repeated perfusion imaging. Secondary outcomes include post-thrombolytic recanalisation, neurological improvements, change in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score, haemorrhagic transformation at 24-48 hours, systematic bleeding at discharge, modified Rankin Scale (mRS) 0-1, mRS 0-2, mRS 5-6, mRS distribution and Barthel index at 90 days. DISCUSSION CHABLIS-T II will provide important evidence of intravenous thrombolysis with TNK for patients who had an acute stroke in an extended time window.

Abstract
MicroRNA (miR)-200c suppresses the initiation and progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the most prevalent head and neck cancer with high recurrence, metastasis, and mortality rates. However, miR-200c-based gene therapy to inhibit OSCC growth has yet to be reported. To develop an miR-based gene therapy to improve the outcomes of OSCC treatment, this study investigates the feasibility of plasmid DNA (pDNA) encoding miR-200c delivered via nonviral CaCO3-based nanoparticles to inhibit OSCC tumor growth. CaCO3-based nanoparticles with various ratios of CaCO3 and protamine sulfate (PS) were used to transfect pDNA encoding miR-200c into OSCC cells, and the efficiency of these nanoparticles was evaluated. The proliferation, migration, and associated oncogene production, as well as in vivo tumor growth for OSCC cells overexpressing miR-200c, were also quantified. It was observed that, while CaCO3-based nanoparticles improve transfection efficiencies of pDNA miR-200c, the ratio of CaCO3 to PS significantly influences the transfection efficiency. Overexpression of miR-200c significantly reduced proliferation, migration, and oncogene expression of OSCC cells, as well as the tumor size of cell line-derived xenografts (CDX) in mice. In addition, a local administration of pDNA miR-200c using CaCO3 delivery significantly enhanced miR-200c transfection and suppressed tumor growth of CDX in mice. These results strongly indicate that the nanocomplexes of CaCO3/pDNA miR-200c may potentially be used to reduce oral cancer recurrence and improve clinical outcomes in OSCC treatment, while more comprehensive examinations to confirm the safety and efficacy of the CaCO3/pDNA miR-200c system using various preclinical models are needed.

Abstract
INTRODUCTIONS Venous outflow (VO) is emerging as a marker of microvascular integrity in acute ischemic stroke. Using hemorrhagic transformation (HT) and infarct growth as mediators, we tested whether a favorable VO profile benefited functional outcome by reducing consequences of microvascular dysfunction. PATIENTS AND METHODS Patients receiving thrombectomy in three comprehensive stroke centers due to acute anterior circulation occlusion were included. VO was assessed semi-quantitatively by the opacification of ipsilateral vein of Labbé, Trolard and superficial middle cerebral vein. HT was graded on follow-up CT. Infarct growth volume (IGV) was the difference of final infarct volume and baseline core volume. The association of VO and functional independence (90-day modified Rankin Scale ⩽ 2) was examined by logistic regression. Mediation analysis was performed among VO, HT or IGV, and functional outcome in patients with or without recanalization, respectively. RESULTS In 242 patients analyzed, VO was strongly correlated with functional independence and VO ⩾ 4 was defined favorable. In 175 patients recanalized, favorable VO was associated with a reduced risk of HT (OR = 0.82, 95% CI 0.71-0.95, p = 0.008), which accounted for 13.1% of the association between VO and favorable outcome. In 67 patients without recanalization, favorable VO was associated with decreased IGV (β = -0.07, 95% CI -0.11 to -0.02, p = 0.007). The association of favorable VO and functional independence was no longer significant (aOR = 4.84, 95% CI 0.87-38.87, p = 0.089) after including IGV in the model, suggesting a complete mediation. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION In patients with acute anterior large vessel occlusion, the clinical benefit of VO may be mediated through reduced microvascular dysfunction.

BACKGROUND The performance of intravenous tenecteplase in patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke with large/medium vessel occlusion or severe stenosis in an extended time window remains unknown. We investigated the promise of efficacy and safety of different doses of tenecteplase manufactured in China, in patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke with large/medium vessel occlusion beyond 4.5-hour time window. METHODS The CHinese Acute tissue-Based imaging selection for Lysis In Stroke-Tenecteplase was an investigator-initiated, umbrella phase IIa, open-label, blinded-endpoint, Simon's two-stage randomised clinical trial in 13 centres across mainland China. Participants who had salvageable brain tissue on automated perfusion imaging and presented within 4.5-24 hours from time of last seen well were randomised to receive 0.25 mg/kg tenecteplase or 0.32 mg/kg tenecteplase, both with a bolus infusion over 5-10 s. The primary outcome was proportion of patients with promise of efficacy and safety defined as reaching major reperfusion without symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage at 24-48 hours after thrombolysis. Assessors were blinded to treatment allocation. All participants who received tenecteplase were included in the analysis. RESULTS A total of 86 patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke identified with anterior large/medium vessel occlusion or severe stenosis were included in this study from November 2019 to December 2021. All of the 86 patients enrolled either received 0.25 mg/kg (n=43) or 0.32 mg/kg (n=43) tenecteplase, and were available for primary outcome analysis. Fourteen out of 43 patients in the 0.25 mg/kg tenecteplase group and 10 out of 43 patients in the 0.32 mg/kg tenecteplase group reached the primary outcome, providing promise of efficacy and safety for both doses based on Simon's two-stage design. DISCUSSION Among patients with anterior large/medium vessel occlusion and significant penumbral mismatch presented within 4.5-24 hours from time of last seen well, tenecteplase 0.25 mg/kg and 0.32 mg/kg both provided sufficient promise of efficacy and safety. Abstract
BACKGROUND The role of Feline sarcoma-related protein (Fer) in various cancers has been extensively studied, but its specific involvement and underlying mechanisms in the progression of endometrial carcinoma (EC) are yet to be fully understood. METHODS The expression levels of Fer were assessed in EC tissues and cell lines using real-time quantitative PCR and western blot analysis. CCK-8 assay, Edu staining, transwell assays, and flow cytometry, were conducted to evaluate the impact of Fer on EC cells. Furthermore, a mice xenograft model and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining were utilized for in vivo analysis. The levels of Ras, pMek1/2, and pErk1/2 were determined by western blot assay. Ras-MAPK signaling pathway inhibitor was utilized to study the regulatory role of Fer on EC cells. RESULTS Our findings revealed that Fer exhibited upregulation in both EC tissues and cell lines, concomitant with the activation of the Ras-MAPK signaling pathway. Silencing of Fer resulted in the suppression of cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and Ras-MAPK signaling pathway, while promoted hypoxia-induced apoptosis in RL95-2 and KLE cells. Fer overexpression stimulated cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and Ras-MAPK signaling pathway in Ishikawa and AN3-CA cells, which were reversed after treatment with either Ras or MAPK inhibitor. Moreover, silencing of Fer suppressed tumor growth and downregulated the expression of Ki-67, Ras, pMek1/2, and pErk1/2, but had no significant effect on Mek1/2 and Erk1/2, while upregulated caspase-3 expression in vivo. CONCLUSION In summary, the upregulation of Fer in EC cells resulted in the enhancement of cell proliferation, migration, and invasion through the activation of the Ras-MAPK signaling pathway.

Abstract
To observe the effects of liraglutide (analog of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1)) on atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) secretion and atrial dynamics, an ex vivo isolated rat atrial perfusion model was used to determine atrial ANP secretion and pulse pressure. DPP-4-/- mice were also established in vivo. ANP levels were determined by radioimmunoassay; GLP-1 content was determined by Elisa. The expression levels of GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R), PI3K/AKT/mTOR, piezo 1, and cathepsin K were analyzed by Western blot. In the clinical study, patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) had low levels of plasma GLP-1 but relatively high levels of plasma ANP. In ex vivo (3.2 nmol/L) and in vivo (30 μg/kg) models, liraglutide significantly decreased ANP levels and atrial pulse pressure. Exendin9-39 alone (GLP-1R antagonist) reversibly significantly increased ANP secretion, and the reduction effect of liraglutide on the secretion of ANP was significantly alleviated by Exendin9-39. Exendin9-39 demonstrated slightly decreased atrial pulse pressure; however, combined liraglutide and Exendin9-39 significantly decreased atrial pulse pressure. Ly294002 (PI3K/AKT inhibitor) inhibited the increase of ANP secretion by liraglutide for a short time, while Ly294002 didn't counteract the decrease in pulse pressure by liraglutide in atrial dynamics studies. Liraglutide increased the expression of GLP-1R and PI3K/AKT/mTOR in isolated rat atria and the hearts of mice in vivo, whereas Exendin9-39 reversibly reduced the expression of GLP-1R and PI3K/AKT/mTOR. Piezo 1 was significantly decreased in wild type and DPP-4-/- mouse heart or isolated rat atria after being treated with liraglutide. Cathepsin K expression was only decreased in in vivo model hearts. Liraglutide can inhibit ANP secretion while decreasing atrial pulse pressure mediated by GLP-1R. Liraglutide probably plays a role in the reduction of ANP secretion via the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. Piezo 1 and cathepsin K may be involved in the liraglutide mechanism of reduction.

Abstract
Objective: We aimed to determine the epidemiological characteristics of asymptomatic AF in elder community population (≥65 years old) to analyze the detection rate of different screening methods. Methods: The study was a prospective cohort study. The elder (≥65 years old) residents who voluntarily participated in free physical examination in Dalian community were selected. The participants were randomly divided into screening group (including intensive screening group and single screening group) and control group. The control group received interrogation, medical history collection and routine 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) examination. Screening group received an additional single-lead ambulatory ECG equipment worn for 5-7 days. Intensive screening group received two equal-length wearings in 2020 and 2021 respectively, while one screening group only wore once in 2020. Results: Finally 3 340 residents ((70.7±5.0) years old) which consisted of 1 488 males (44.55%) were enrolled. There were 1 945 residents in screening group, including 859 in intensive screening group and 1 086 in one-time screening group. The control group included 1 395 people. Detection rate of asymptomatic AF was significantly higher in screening group than control group (79(4.06%) vs. 24(1.72%), P<0.001). Higher detection rate was found in screening group than control group in AF risk factors (1 or 2-3) subgroups and CHA2DS2-VASc score (2-3 or≥4) subgroups (P<0.05). Additionally, no difference was found between intensive screening group and single screening group (42(4.89%) vs. 37(3.41%), P=0.100). Intensive screening increased detection rate (7(6.93%) vs. 1(0.58%), P=0.009) only in residents those with low thrombosis risk (CHA2DS2-VaSc<2). Conclusions: Screening in elderly (≥65 years old) can significantly improve the detection rate of asymptomatic AF by wearing single lead dynamic ECG device. The rate increased significantly with the increase of risk factors associated with AF by single screening. In addition, repeat screening of the same method may only improve detection rates in the group with low risk thrombotic scores and non-combination of AF risk factors.Screening methods that are appropriate for different populations may require further exploration.

Abstract
Soil acidification is common in some Chinese tea plantations, which seriously affected growth of tea trees. Hence, it is essential to explore soil remediation in acidified tea plantations for sustainable development of the tea industry. We sought to determine how different fertilizers affect acidified soil and their N transformation in tea plantations. Different fertilizers were used on acidified tea plantation soils for 4 years (2017-2021), and changes in soil pH, indices related to soil N transformation and tea yield were analysed to construct interaction networks of these indices and find which had the largest influence on fertilization. Long-term use of sheep manure reduced soil acidification, increased soil pH, enhanced the number and intensity of N-fixing and ammonifying bacteria, urease, protease, asparaginase and N-acetamide glucose ribosidase activity and nifH gene expression. This treatment reduced the number and intensity of soil nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria, nitrate reductase and nitrite reductase activity, while the expression of amoA-AOA, nirK, nirS, narG and nosZ in turn increased ammonium N content of the soil, reduced nitrate N content, and enhanced tea yield. Topsis index weight analysis showed that ammonium N content in the soil had the largest impact among fertilization effects. Long-term use of sheep manure was beneficial in restoring the balance of the micro-ecosystem in acidified soil. This study provides an important practical basis for soil remediation and fertilizer management in acidified tea plantation soils.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the association of baseline venous outflow (VO) profile with futile recanalization in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion in the anterior circulation. Methods: The clinical and imaging data of patients presented with large vessel occlusion in the anterior circulation and underwent emergency endovascular treatment at Huashan Hospital from March 2015 to December 2021 were retrospectively included in the study. All patients were assessed by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) at baseline.Baseline VO profile was determined by a 0-6 semi-quantitative scoring system which assessed opacification of the ipsilateral superficial middle cerebral vein, vein of Labbé and vein of Trolard on single-phase CT angiography (CTA) images. A 90-day telephone follow-up was performed and functional outcome was evaluated by 90 d modified Rankin scale (mRS). Successful recanalization of the occluded artery, defined as final modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction scale (mTICI) 2b-3, was considered to be futile if patients failed to achieve functional independence (90 d mRS 0-2). Univariate analysis and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were used to explore the optimal cutoff predicting functional indendence. The associations between cortical VO in ischemic area and futile recanalization were evaluated using binary logistic regression analysis and backward linear regression based on Akaike information criterion (AIC). Results: A total of 150 patients met the inclusion criteria, with 92 males (61.3%) and 58 females (38.7%). The median age [M(Q1, Q3)]was 71 (61, 78) years and the median baseline National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score [M(Q1, Q3)]was 15 (11, 18). Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that baseline VO was associated with 90-day functional independence (OR=1.587, 95%CI: 1.185-2.1873). After classifying VO into two categories based on the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, VO≥4 showed an independent association with functional independence (OR=5.133, 95%CI: 1.530-9.361) after adjusting for age, baseline glucose, NIHSS score, baseline infarct core volume, modified Tan (mTan) score, hypoperfusion intensity ratio (HIR), etiological classification, recanalization, presence of any hemorrhagic transformation and final infarct volume. Futile recanalization was observed in 44 (48.4%) of the 91 patients who achieved successful recanalization. Stepwise logistic regression revealed that VO≥4 was an independent protective factor for futile recanalization (OR=0.234, 95%CI: 0.054-0.878). Moreover, in patients with mTICI 2c-3, VO≥4 showed a stronger association with futile recanalization (OR=0.018, 95%CI: 0-0.255). Conclusion: A favorable VO profile at onset protects against futile recanalization in patients with large vessel occlusion in the anterior circulation, and provides a simple and feasible auxiliary method for predicting the prognosis of endovascular therapy in such patients.

PURPOSE Tumor-promotive tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) and the CXCL16/CXCR6 axis have been reported to be correlated with the limited efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer (OC). However, the role of TAM-secreted CXCL16 and the mechanism by which it affects the cisplatin (DDP) resistance of OC cells remain elusive. METHODS We induced human THP-1 monocytes to differentiate into macrophages. Next, SKOV3 and TOV-112D cells were co-cultured with the macrophages, followed by incubation with increasing concentrations of DDP. The effects of CXCL16, CXCR6, and WTAP on the DDP resistance of OC cells were investigated using the CCK-8 assay, colony formation assay, flow cytometry, and TUNEL staining. CXCL16 concentrations were determined by ELISA. Quantitative real-time PCR and western blotting were used to examine related markers. RESULTS Our results showed that after being co-cultured with TAMs, the DDP resistance of OC cells was significantly enhanced and their CXCL16 levels were elevated. Acquired DDP resistance was characterized by an increased IC50 value for DDP, the formation of cell colonies, and decreased levels of cell apoptosis, which were accompanied by reduced levels of caspase-3 and Bax expression, and increased levels of Bcl-2, PARP1, BRCA1, and BRCA2 expression. Either CXCL16 knockdown in TAMs or CXCR6 knockdown in OC cells suppressed the DDP resistance of OC cells that had been co-cultured with TAMs. Knockdown of CXCL16 affected m6A RNA methylation in OC cells, as reflected by decreased YTHDF1/WTAP expression and increased ALKBH5 expression. WTAP overexpression and knockdown promoted and suppressed the DDP resistance of OC cells, respectively. CONCLUSION Tumor-associated macrophages promote the cisplatin resistance of OC cells by enhancing WTAP-mediated N6-methyladenosine RNA methylation via the CXCL16/CXCR6 axis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Childhood and peer experiences can influence adolescents' perceptions of interpersonal relationships, which can, in turn, influence their emotional states and behavior patterns. Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is now a common problem behavior among adolescents. The present study examined the role of childhood trauma and peer victimization in adolescents' NSSI. METHODS A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1783 adolescents (1464 girls and 318 boys) in the psychiatric outpatient clinics or wards of 14 psychiatric hospitals or general hospitals in nine provinces in China. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Peer Victimization Scale (MPVS), Short-form Childhood Trauma Questionnaire(CTQ-SF), and Functional Assessment of Self-Mutilation (FASM). Structural equation modeling (SEM) with latent variables was used to demonstrate the mediating role of peer victimization in the association between childhoodtrauma and NSSI. RESULTS The SEM analysis demonstrated that peer victimization plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between childhood trauma and NSSI. In addition, several covariates (such as age, gender, education level, and place of residence) effectively regulated the relationship between peer victimization and NSSI. CONCLUSION In future studies of NSSI among Chinese adolescents, attention should be paid to the roles of childhood trauma and peer bullying; there is a temporal sequence between these two variables and, to some extent, childhood trauma can have an impact on bullying during adolescence which, in turn, influences NSSI behavior.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Suicidal ideation is common among people diagnosed with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and may be related to neurocognitive, social cognitive, and clinical variables. This study aimed to investigate the relationships between suicidal ideation and both neurocognitive function and empathy. METHODS The sample for this cross-sectional study comprised 301 schizophrenic patients aged 18-44 years. All participants were administered the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation-Chinese Version (BSI-CV), the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS), the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). The demographic and clinical data of the patients were also collected. RESULTS In total, 82 patients reported suicidal ideation. Compared to patients without suicidal ideation, patients with suicidal ideation showed significant differences in the IRI-Personal Distress subscale, PANSS-General Psychopathology symptom scores, and suicide attempts. Moreover, there were moderating effects of neurocognitive function and empathy on the relationship between suicide attempts and suicidal ideation. CONCLUSIONS These results indicate that the personal distress component of empathy, general psychopathology symptoms and suicide attempts are independent risk factors for suicidal ideation in Chinese adults with schizophrenia. Moreover, neurocognitive function may also be related to suicidal ideation through a moderating relationship. In order to reduce suicidal ideation among patients with schizophrenia, early screening of empathy and neurocognitive function is essential.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) by adolescent patients with depression has become a serious public health problem. This cross-sectional study aims to identify subgroups of adolescents based on NSSI and explore the factors related to these subgroups. METHODS The study recruited 326 in- and out-patient adolescents (263 girls and 63 boys) aged 12 to 18 years (mean = 14.7, SD = 1.6) who had self-injured in the past year. Latent class indicators included 12 NSSI variables, as well as suicidal ideation. Logistic regression examined associations between identified classes and related factors. RESULTS In this study, two distinct subgroups were identified: a "high suicidal ideation NSSI group" (n = 129, 39.6%) and a "low suicidal ideation NSSI group" (n = 197, 60.4%). Depression (OR = 1.10; 95% CI, 1.05-1.16), female (OR = 2.01; 95% CI, 1.09-3.69), left-behind experience (OR = 2.08; 95% CI, 1.17-3.71), single-parent family (OR = 1.84; 95% CI, 1.11-3.04) and peer victimization (OR = 1.04; 95% CI, 1.02-1.05) increases the probability of belonging to the "high suicidal ideation NSSI group". A high level of perceived social support (OR = 0.99; 95% CI, 0.97-0.99) was a protective factor towards NSSI. CONCLUSIONS This study identifies two subgroups of NSSI and the factors associated with each subgroup. The early identification of high-risk groups for major NSSI in adolescents diagnosed with depression is possible due to the identification of correlating factors. Different treatment plans can be developed for different subtypes of NSSI to improve the effectiveness of prevention and intervention, promoting the healthy physical and mental development of adolescents with depression.

Abstract
Multi-modal (i.e., visible, near-infrared, and thermal-infrared) vehicle re-identification has good potential to search vehicles of interest in low illumination. However, due to the fact that different modalities have varying imaging characteristics, a proper multi-modal complementary information fusion is crucial to multi-modal vehicle re-identification. For that, this paper proposes a progressively hybrid transformer (PHT). The PHT method consists of two aspects: random hybrid augmentation (RHA) and a feature hybrid mechanism (FHM). Regarding RHA, an image random cropper and a local region hybrider are designed. The image random cropper simultaneously crops multi-modal images of random positions, random numbers, random sizes, and random aspect ratios to generate local regions. The local region hybrider fuses the cropped regions to let regions of each modal bring local structural characteristics of all modalities, mitigating modal differences at the beginning of feature learning. Regarding the FHM, a modal-specific controller and a modal information embedding are designed to effectively fuse multi-modal information at the feature level. Experimental results show the proposed method wins the state-of-the-art method by a larger 2.7% mAP on RGBNT100 and a larger 6.6% mAP on RGBN300, demonstrating that the proposed method can learn multi-modal complementary information effectively.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and suicide attempts (SAs) by adolescent patients with depression have become serious public health problems. There is still insufficient research evidence on the effects of NSSI and SAs on neurocognitive functioning in adolescents. Cognitive function alterations may be associated with SAs and self-injury. NSSI and SAs have different influencing factors. METHODS Participants were recruited from outpatient clinics and included 142 adolescent patients with depression (12-18 years old). This cohort included the SAs group (n = 52), NSSI group (n = 65), and depression without SAs/NSSI control group (n = 25). All participants underwent a clinical interview and neuropsychological assessment for group comparisons, and post-hoc tests were performed. Finally, partial correlation analysis was used to explore factors related to changes in cognitive function. RESULTS The SAs group performed significantly worse than the control group in executive function and working memory. The depression score was directly proportional to the executive function of the SAs group, whereas cognitive functioning in the NSSI group was associated with borderline traits and rumination. CONCLUSIONS These findings suggest that impairment of executive function and working memory may be a common pattern in adolescent depressed patients with SAs. However, borderline traits and rumination may be indicative of NSSI but not SAs.

Abstract
AIMS The aim of this study was to explore the interaction between reperfusion and treatment time on the outcomes of patients undergoing endovascular treatment presenting within 24 h of last known well, and to compare the predictive ability of different reperfusion measurements on outcomes. METHODS Eligible patients from a single-center cohort were enrolled in this study. Reperfusion was assessed using reperfusion index (decreased volume of hypoperfusion lesion compared with baseline) measured by repeated perfusion imaging, and modified treatment in cerebral ischemia score measured by digital subtraction angiography, respectively. The interactions between reperfusion measurements and treatment time on outcomes were explored using multivariate-adjusted logistic and linear regression models. The predictive abilities of reperfusion measurements on outcomes were compared using area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC-AUC) and values of R-square. RESULTS Reperfusion index and treatment time had significant interactions on 3-month modified Rankin Scale (mRS) 0-2 and infarct growth (p for interaction <0.05). Although the AUCs were statistically similar (AUCs of mRS 0-2 prediction, mTICI≥2b:0.63, mTICI≥2c:0.59, reperfusion index≥0.5:0.66, reperfusion index ≥0.9:0.73, P value of any of the two AUCs >0.05), reperfusion index≥0.9 showed the highest R-square values in outcome prediction (R-square values of 3-month mRS 0-2 and infarct growth = 0.21) among all the reperfusion measurements. CONCLUSION Treatment time mitigated the effect of reperfusion on outcomes of patients receiving endovascular treatment within 24 h of last known well. Reperfusion index≥0.9 might serve as a better proxy of good outcomes compared with other reperfusion measurements.

Abstract
Objective:
To explore the association of baseline venous outflow from the occluded cerebral territory and futile recanalization (FR) in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (LVO) in the anterior circulation.
Methods:
Consecutive patients from a prospectively maintained stroke database were included in this study if they presented with a multimodal CT-confirmed LVO in the anterior circulation and underwent thrombectomy within 24 hours after stroke onset. Excellent recanalization of the occluded artery, defined as final mTICI 2c-3 on digital subtraction angiography, was considered to be futile if patients fail to achieve functional independence (modified Rankin Scale of 0-2) at 90 days. Baseline venous outflow profile was determined by a 7-point semi-quantitative scoring system which assessed ipsilateral venous opacification of the vein of Labbe, Trolard and superficial middle cerebral vein on single-phase CTA source images. Hypoperfusion intensity ratio (HIR, defined as delay time >6 seconds/delay time >3 seconds) was applied to evaluate tissue-level collateral status.
Results:
145 patients met the inclusion criteria. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that malignant venous outflow (OR 4.30 [95% CI 1.41-14.57]; p =0.013) was independently associated with functional dependence regardless of age, glucose, HIR, early neurologic deterioration, hemorrhagic transformation and final infarct volume. FR was observed in 24/52 (46%) recanalized patients. Stepwise logistic regression revealed a poor venous outflow profile at presentation as an independent predictor of FR (OR 7.04 [95% CI 1.29-50.16]; p =0.03) adjusted for baseline NIH Stroke Scale score, HIR and presence of hemorrhagic transformation.
Conclusion:
A malignant venous outflow profile at baseline is associated with FR in patients with LVO. The mechanism by which poor venous outflow from the occluded territory hinders clinical recovery despite prompt successful thrombectomy remains to be determined.

Abstract
In this Letter, we study the interaction between a self-sustaining exothermic reaction front propagating in a direction perpendicular to that of gravity and the buoyancy-driven convective flow during frontal polymerization (FP) of a low-viscosity monomer resin. As the polymerization front transforms the liquid monomer into the solid polymer, the large thermal gradients associated with the propagating front sustain a natural convection of the fluid ahead of the front. The fluid convection in turn affects the reaction-diffusion (RD) dynamics and the shape of the front. Detailed multiphysics numerical analyses and particle image velocimetry experiments reveal this coupling between natural convection and frontal polymerization. The frontal Rayleigh (Ra) number affects the magnitude of the velocity field and the inclination of the front. A higher Ra number drives instability during FP, leading to the observation of thermal-chemical patterns with tunable wavelengths and magnitudes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Frailty is an important geriatric syndrome especially with ageing populations. Frailty can be managed or even reversed with community-based interventions delivered by a multi-disciplinary team. Innovation is required to find community frailty models that can deliver cost-effective and feasible care to each local context. OBJECTIVES We share pilot data from our Geriatric Service Hub (GSH) which is a novel frailty care model in Singapore that identifies and manages frailty in the community, supported by a hospital-based multi-disciplinary team. METHODS We describe in detail our GSH model and its implementation. We performed a retrospective data analysis on patient characteristics, uptake, prevalence of frailty and sarcopenia and referral rates for multi-component interventions. RESULTS A total of 152 persons attended between January 2020 to May 2021. Majority (59.9%) were female and mean age was 81.0 ± 7.1 years old. One-fifth (21.1%) of persons live alone. Mean Charlson Co-morbidity Index was 5.2 ± 1.8. Based on the clinical frailty risk scale (CFS), 31.6% were vulnerable, 51.3% were mildly frail and 12.5% were moderately frail. Based on SARC-F screening, 45.3% were identified to be sarcopenic whilst 56.9% had a high concern about falling using the Falls-Efficacy Scale-International. BMD scans were done for 41.4% of participants, of which 58.7% were started on osteoporosis treatment. In terms of referrals to allied health professionals, 87.5% were referred for physiotherapy, 71.1% for occupational therapy and 50.7% to dieticians. CONCLUSION The GSH programme demonstrates a new local model of partnering with community service providers to bring comprehensive population level frailty screening and interventions to pre-frail and frail older adults. Our study found high rates of frailty, sarcopenia and fear of falling in community-dwelling older adults who were not presently known to geriatric care services.

Abstract
Introduction Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is becoming an increasingly prevalent phenomenon among adolescents, endangering their health. The aims of this study were to 1) explore the associations between borderline personality features, alexithymia and NSSI and 2) examine if alexithymia mediates the relationships between borderline personality features and both the severity of NSSI and the various functions that maintain NSSI in adolescents. Methods This cross-sectional study recruited 1779 outpatient and inpatient aged 12-18 years from psychiatric hospitals. All adolescents completed a structured four-part questionnaire including demographic items, the Chinese version of the Functional Assessment of Self-Mutilation, the Borderline Personality Features Scale for Children and the Toronto Alexithymia Scale. Results The structural equation modelling results indicated that alexithymia partially mediated the associations between borderline personality features and both the severity of NSSI and the emotion regulation function of NSSI (B = 0.058 and 0.099, both p < 0.001), after controlling for age and sex. Discussion These findings suggest that alexithymia may play a role in the mechanism and treatment of NSSI among adolescents with borderline personality features. Further longitudinal studies are essential to validate these findings.

Abstract
Electrocatalytic water splitting is a desirable and sustainable strategy for hydrogen production yet still faces challenges due to the sluggish kinetics and rapid deactivation of catalysts in the oxygen evolution process. Herein, we utilized the metal-catalyzed growth technology and phosphating process to fabricate self-supported electrodes (CoxPy@CNT-CC) composed of carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays grown on carbon cloth (CC); thereinto, cobalt-based phosphide nanoparticles (CoxPy) are uniformly encapsulated in the cavity of the CNTs. After further optimization, when the nanoparticles are in the composite phase (CoP2/Co2P), CoP2/Co2P@CNT-CC served as catalytic electrodes with the highest activity and stability for electrocatalytic water splitting in an alkaline medium (1.0 M KOH). The as-prepared CoP2/Co2P@CNT-CC integrates the advantages of the abundant active sites and confinement effect of CNTs, imparting promising electrocatalytic activities and stability in catalyzing both hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen evolution reaction. Remarkably, electrocatalytic water splitting cells assembled using CoP2/Co2P@CNT-CC electrodes as the cathode and anode, respectively, require a cell voltage of 1.55 V at 10 mA cm-2, which is lower than that of the commercially noble Pt/C/CC and RuO2/CC catalyst couple (1.68 V). Besides, a CoP2/Co2P@CNT-CC||CoP2/Co2P@CNT-CC system shows outstanding durability for a period of 100 h at 10 mA cm-2. This work may provide new ideas for designing bifunctional electrocatalysts for applications in electrocatalytic water splitting.

Abstract
To explore the risk factors for allergic conjunctivitis (AC) in Chinese children. We recruited 176 children who suffered from AC and a control group comprising 131 normal subjects in southern China. Each participant completed a questionnaire and underwent multiple eye examinations and a skin prick test (SPT). The data of the questionnaire, the scores of the symptoms/signs and the results of the SPT were analysed. The rate of parental allergic history in the case group was much higher than that in the control group (P < 0.01). Compared with the control group, the case group was more likely to have other concomitant diseases (P < 0.01). The scores of ocular symptoms/signs had a significant correlation with the clinical duration of AC in the case group (P < 0.01). Children with other concomitant diseases or a parental allergic history were more likely to have AC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to categorize different subgroups of problematic smartphone use in Chinese college students. Differences in gender and psychosocial characteristics of the categorized groups were also examined. METHODS A total of 1123 participants completed the Mobile Phone Addiction Index Scale, the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale, and the Perceived Stress Scale. Using latent profile analysis, we identified different subgroups of problematic smartphone use in college students. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was implemented to examine the relationship between latent classes and demographic and psychosocial covariates. RESULTS The four following latent classes were identified: a low-risk group, a moderate-risk with no evasiveness group, a moderate-risk with evasiveness group, and high-risk group that accounted for 11%, 24.1%, 35.5%, and 29.4% of the total sample, respectively. Further analysis revealed that female participants were more likely to be in the moderate-risk with evasiveness and high-risk groups, and individuals with depressed mood were more likely to be in the moderate-risk and high-risk groups. CONCLUSIONS Classifying college students according to the features of problematic smartphone use is potentially useful for understanding risk factors and developing targeted prevention and intervention programs.

Background Randomized clinical trials and large stroke registries have demonstrated a time-dependent benefit of endovascular treatment (EVT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) due to large vessel occlusion (LVO). The aim of this study was to investigate whether this could be applied to different stroke subtypes in a real-world single-center cohort. Materials and methods Consecutive ischemic stroke patients with LVOs presenting within 24 h after symptom onset were prospectively registered and retrospectively assessed. Baseline multimodal imaging was conducted before EVT. Independent predictors of functional independence [90-day modified Rankin scale (mRS), 0–2] and any incidence of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) were explored using a stepwise logistic regression model in the entire cohort and in stroke subtypes. Results From 2015 to 2020, 140 eligible patients received EVT, of whom 59 (42%) were classified as large artery atherosclerosis (LAA)-related. Time from last known normal to groin puncture was identified as an independent predictor for functional independence in patients of cardioembolic (CE) subtype [odds ratio (OR) 0.90 per 10 min; 95% CI 0.82–0.98; P = 0.013] but not in the LAA subtype and the whole cohort. Groin puncture within 6 h after the time of last known normal was associated with a lower risk of any ICH in the whole cohort (OR 0.36, 95% CI 0.17–0.75, P = 0.007). Sensitivity analysis of patients with complete imaging profiles also confirmed the above findings. Besides, compared with patients of the CE subtype, the LAA subtype had a smaller baseline ischemic core volume, a better collateral status, a slower core growth rate, and a numerically smaller final infarct volume. Conclusion Faster groin puncture has a more pronounced effect on the functional outcome in patients of CE subtype than those of LAA subtype. Reducing time to groin puncture is of great importance in improving the prognosis of patients after EVT, especially those of CE subtype, and reducing the incidence of any ICH in all patients.

Abstract
Objective: To study the infection rate of secondary close contacts of COVID-19 patients, and assess the infection risk in the contacts. Methods: COVID-19 patients' close contacts (with a clear exposure time to index case) with negative nucleic acid test results and secondary close contacts were surveyed in continuous isolation and medical observation in this prospective study. The dynamic nucleic acid test results of the close contacts and secondary contacts of COVID-19 patients were collected to assess their risk of infection. Results: A total of 4 533 close contacts were surveyed, in whom 14 were confirmed as COVID-19 patients with overall secondary attack rate of 0.31%, and 4 201 secondary contacts were tracked, in whom no subsequent infections occurred. Conclusion: Close contacts of COVID-19 patients entered in centralized isolation for medical observation with negative nucleic acid tese results,the secondary close contacts of COVID-19 patients have no risk of infection.

Abstract
Bisphenol A (BPA), as an endocrine disruptor derived from petroleum-based chemicals, has been prohibited by several regulatory agencies for use in a wide variety of consumer products. For the sake of reducing human exposure to BPA derivatives and in the context of sustainability, it is far-reaching to develop high-performance and low-toxic materials from bountiful biomass sources. The objective of this work was to synthesize 2 bio-based dimethacrylate monomers, 2,2'-dially-4,4'-dimethoxy-5,5'-diglycerolate acrylatediphenylmethane (BEF-EA) and 2,2'-dially-4,4'-dimethoxy-5,5'-diglycerolate methacrylatediphenylmethane (BEF-GMA), using eugenol as the raw material. The estrogenic activity of bio-based bisphenol 2,2'-dially-4,4'-dimethoxy-5,5'-dihydroxydiphenylmethane (BEF) was evaluated and compared with estrogen and commercial bisphenols. After photopolymerization of the di(meth)acrylates diluted with tri(ethyleneglycol) dimethacrylate (TEGDMA), bio-based visible light-curing materials were prepared, and their properties were systematically investigated. Notably, di(meth)acrylates BEF-GMA and BEF-EA derived from these nonestrogenic bio-based phenols exhibited improved biocompatibility and low viscosity (down to 220-280 Pa.s). BEF-GMA and BEF-EA resin matrix exhibits lower volumetric polymerization shrinkage (about 8.5%), high photopolymerization reactivity (>50% in 60 s), and mechanical properties (fracture energy >5.5 N mm; flexural strength of 87-91 MPa, etc), which were comparable or superior to commercial Bis-GMA. The respective bio-based composites still exhibit adequate properties. Therefore, introducing eugenol-based visible light-curable dimethacrylate monomers into dental materials is a potential strategy to establish green sustainability and biocompatible dental materials without BPA.

Abstract
Nicotine is a psychoactive component of tobacco that plays critical roles in the regulation of neuronal circuit function and neuroplasticity and contributes to the improvement of working memory performance and motor learning function via nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). Under in vivo conditions, nicotine enhances facial stimulation-evoked mossy fiber-granule cell (MF-GrC) synaptic transmission, which suggests that nicotine regulates MF-GrC synaptic plasticity in the mouse cerebellar cortex. In this study, we investigated the effects of nicotine on facial stimulation-induced long-term potentiation (LTP) of MF-GrC synaptic transmission in urethane-anesthetized mice. Our results showed that facial stimulation at 20 Hz induced an MF-GrC LTP in the mouse cerebellar granular layer that was significantly enhanced by the application of nicotine (1 μM). Blockade of α4β2 nAChRs, but not α7 nAChRs, during delivery of 20 Hz facial stimulation prevented the nicotine-induced facilitation of MF-GrC LTP. Notably, the facial stimulation-induced MF-GrC LTP was abolished by an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, but it was restored by additional application of nicotine during delivery of 20 Hz facial stimulation. Furthermore, antagonism of α4β2 nAChRs, but not α7 nAChRs, during delivery of 20 Hz facial stimulation prevented nicotine-induced MF-GrC LTP. Moreover, inhibition of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) abolished the facial stimulation-induced MF-GrC LTP, as well as the effect of nicotine on it. Our results indicated that 20 Hz facial stimulation induced MF-GrC LTP via an NMDA receptor/nitric oxide (NO) cascade, but MF-GrC LTP was enhanced by nicotine through the α4β2 AChR/NO signaling pathway. These results suggest that nicotine-induced facilitation of MF-GrC LTP may play a critical role in the improvement of working memory performance and motor learning function.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) is the major neuromodulator orchestrating the stress response, and is secreted by neurons in various regions of the brain. Cerebellar CRF is released by afferents from inferior olivary neurons and other brainstem nuclei in response to stressful challenges, and contributes to modulation of synaptic plasticity and motor learning behavior via its receptors. We recently found that CRF modulates facial stimulation-evoked molecular layer interneuron-Purkinje cell (MLI-PC) synaptic transmission via CRF type 1 receptor (CRF-R1) in vivo in mice, suggesting that CRF modulates sensory stimulation-evoked MLI-PC synaptic plasticity. However, the mechanism of how CRF modulates MLI-PC synaptic plasticity is unclear. We investigated the effect of CRF on facial stimulation-evoked MLI-PC long-term depression (LTD) in urethane-anesthetized mice by cell-attached recording technique and pharmacological methods. RESULTS Facial stimulation at 1 Hz induced LTD of MLI-PC synaptic transmission under control conditions, but not in the presence of CRF (100 nM). The CRF-abolished MLI-PC LTD was restored by application of a selective CRF-R1 antagonist, BMS-763,534 (200 nM), but it was not restored by application of a selective CRF-R2 antagonist, antisauvagine-30 (200 nM). Blocking cannabinoid type 1 (CB1) receptor abolished the facial stimulation-induced MLI-PC LTD, and revealed a CRF-triggered MLI-PC long-term potentiation (LTP) via CRF-R1. Notably, either inhibition of protein kinase C (PKC) with chelerythrine (5 µM) or depletion of intracellular Ca2+ with cyclopiazonic acid (100 µM), completely prevented CRF-triggered MLI-PC LTP in mouse cerebellar cortex in vivo. CONCLUSIONS The present results indicated that CRF blocked sensory stimulation-induced opioid-dependent MLI-PC LTD by triggering MLI-PC LTP through CRF-R1/PKC and intracellular Ca2+ signaling pathway in mouse cerebellar cortex. These results suggest that activation of CRF-R1 opposes opioid-mediated cerebellar MLI-PC plasticity in vivo in mice.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Methamphetamine (METH) dependence is a complex and dynamic public health problem. Long-term abuse of METH can increase numerous risks of mental and physical problems. Currently, the methods to reduce METH dependence and improve the withdrawal symptoms are limited and ineffective. Resilience is seen as a multidimensional and dynamic capability to recover or bounce back from stressful events and is also generally considered as a protective factor against mental dysfunction. METHODS One hundred thirty-four males with METH dependence were consecutively recruited from Huanglong Compulsory Isolated Detoxification Center between 2019 and 2021, of whom 112 were into the group. The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Self-rating depression scale (SDS), Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale-11(BIS-11), and the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (Rbans) were used to evaluate resilience, depression, anxiety, impulsivity, and cognition respectively. RESULTS The results mainly indicated that high resilience group showed lower SDS, SAS and BIS-11 scores than low resilience group (all p < 0.05). Besides, the total scores of Rbans were higher in high resilience groups than low resilience group (both p < 0.05). Moreover, linear regression results showed that resilience may be influenced by the scores of SDS and SAS. CONCLUSIONS Resilience is negatively correlated with impulsivity and depression. Besides, it is also positively associated with cognitive function. Drug users with higher resilience may have a strong ability to mobilize psychological resources to create a good psychological environment, which may have a positive effect on the relief or improvement of symptoms.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Phyllosphere microbes play important roles in host plant performance and fitness. Recent studies have suggested that tropical and temperate forests harbor diverse phyllosphere bacterial and fungal communities and their assembly is driven by host species identity and plant traits. However, no study has yet examined how seasonality (e.g. dry vs. wet seasons) influences phyllosphere microbial community assembly in natural forests. In addition, in subtropical forests characterized as the transitional zonal vegetation type from tropical to temperate forests, how tree phyllosphere microbial communities are assembled remains unknown. In this study, we quantified bacterial and fungal community structure and diversity on the leaves of 45 tree species with varying phylogenetic identities and importance values within a 20-ha lower subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest plot in dry and wet seasons. We explored if and how the microbial community assembly varies with host species identity, plant traits and seasonality. RESULTS Phyllosphere microbial communities in the subtropical forest are more abundant and diverse than those in tropical and temperate forests, and the tree species share a "core microbiome" in either bacteria or fungi. Variations in phyllosphere bacterial and fungal community assembly are explained more by host species identity than by seasonality. There is a strong clustering of the phyllosphere microbial assemblage amongst trees by seasonality, and the seasonality effects are more pronounced on bacterial than fungal community assembly. Host traits have different effects on community compositions and diversities of both bacteria and fungi, and among them calcium concentration and importance value are the most powerful explaining variables for bacteria and fungi, respectively. There are significant evolutionary associations between host species and phyllosphere microbiome. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that subtropical tree phyllosphere microbial communities vary with host species identity, plant traits and seasonality. Host species identity, compared to seasonality, has greater effects on phyllosphere microbial community assembly, and such effects differ between bacterial and fungal communities. These findings advance our understanding of the patterns and drivers of phyllosphere microbial community assembly in zonal forests at a global scale.

Abstract
BACKGROUND LncRNA LINC00665 partakes in controlling the malignant phenotype of cancer cells, but its role in glioma and the related regulatory mechanism remain uncertain. METHODS RT-PCR was exploited to examine LINC00665 expression. The relationships among the LINC00665 expression, the clinicopathologic values and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) characteristics of glioma were analyzed. The multiplication, movement, and aggressiveness of glioma cell lines were evaluated by CCK-8, EdU, and Transwell experiments after constructing LINC00665 overexpression and LINC00665 knockdown cell models. A dual-luciferase reporter gene experiment and RIP experiment were executed to validate the interactions between LINC00665 and miR-129-5p, and between miR-129-5p and HMGB1. Western blot and RT-PCR were conducted to find the impact of LINC00665 and miR-129-5p on HMGB1 expression. Nude mouse model was also constructed to examine the impact of LINC00665 on multiplication and aggressiveness of glioma cells in vivo. RESULTS LINC00665 expression was markedly increased in glioma. High LINC00665 expression in glioma was closely linked to larger tumor diameter, higher pathologic grade, heterogeneous MRI signal of the tumor, increased peritumoral edema, and stronger MRI enhancement characteristics. LINC00665 overexpression facilitated the malignant behavior of glioma cells, while LINC00665 knockdown played the reverse role. Mechanistically, LINC00665 could decoy miR-129-5p, and indirectly increased HMGB1 expression. CONCLUSION LINC00665 functions as an oncogenic lncRNA in glioma, to accelerate glioma progression by modulating miR-129-5p and increasing HMGB1 expression.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that is featured by the elevated loss of substantia nigra pars compacta dopaminergic neurons and the disruption of motor functions. Aberrant expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs) is correlated with neurodegenerative diseases. This study aimed to explore the role of circTLK1 in PD pathology. METHODS MPTP-stimulated in vivo PD mouse model and MPP+ and rotenone-induced in vitro PD model were established to investigate the function of circTLK1/miR-26a-5p/DAPK1 axis during dopaminergic neuron injury. The motor function of mice was evaluated by using the Rotarod test. Brain tissue damage was checked by hematoxylin and eosin, TdT-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling. Cell viability, apoptosis, and cytotoxicity were evaluated by cell counting kit 8 (CCK-8), flow cytometry, and LDH activity. The interaction between circTLK1 and miR-26a-5p as well as miR-26a-5p and DAPK1 was detected by luciferase reporter assay. RESULTS The expression of circTLK1 was notably elevated in in vitro and in vivo PD models. Knockdown of circTLK1 significantly improved cell viability, suppressed apoptosis and cytotoxicity, whereas inhibition of miR-16a-5p and overexpression of DAPK1 abolished these effects. MiR-26a-5p acts as a sponge of DAPK1 to mediate circTLK1 functions. Luciferase reporter gene assay confirmed the interaction between circTLK1 and miR-26a-5p as well as miR-26a-5p and DAPK1. CONCLUSION Depletion of circTLK1 mitigates dopaminergic neuron injury in vitro and in vivo, via releasing miR-26a-5p to target DAPK1 expression. Targeting circTLK1 may contribute to improving PD therapy.

Abstract
Different from other trauma, the scar and pigmentation formed after healing of burn wound not only hinder beauty but also easily lead to a series of sequential psychological problems, such as depression and anxiety. Music therapy, as a supplementary treatment, is widely used in many fields including medical and health care and psychological regulation. However, affected by factors such as medical resources, the awareness and acceptance of music therapy among burn treatment workers in China are still low. Based on the clinical characteristics of burns, this paper matches the applicability of music therapy with it, summarizes the supplementary application of music therapy in the field of burn treatment, expounds this natural science with both science and aesthetics, and puts forward feasible suggestions for its future development.

Abstract
Independent dose verification with Monte Carlo (MC) simulations is an important feature of proton therapy quality assurance (QA). However, clinical integration of such tools often generates an additional and complex workload for medical physicists. The preparation of the necessary clinical inputs, such as the machine beam model, should therefore be automated. In this work, a methodology for automatic MC commissioning has been devised, validated, and developed into a MATLAB tool for the users of myQA iON, the recent QA platform of IBA Dosimetry. With this workflow, all necessary parameters can easily be tuned using dedicated optimization methods. For the geometrical beam parameters (phase space), the assumption of a single or double Gaussian is made. To model the energy spectrum, a Gaussian function is assumed and parameters are optimized using either MC simulations or a library of pre-computed Bragg peaks. For the absolute dose calibration, commissioning fields can be reproduced with the dose engine to retrieve the necessary parameters. We discuss in a first time the tool efficiency and show that one can optimize all parameters in less than 4 min per energy with excellent accuracy. We then validate a beam model obtained with the tool by simulating homogeneous spread-out Bragg peaks (SOBPs) and patient QA plans previously measured in water. An average range agreement of 0.29 ± 0.34 mm is achieved for the SOBPs while 3%/3 mm local gamma passing rates reach 99.3% on average over all 62 measured patient QA planes, which is well within clinical tolerances.

Abstract
Silent information regulator factor 2-related enzyme 1 (Sirt1) is involved in the regulation of cell senescence, gene transcription, energy balance and oxidative stress. However, the effect of Sirt1 on atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) secretion, especially under hypoxic conditions is unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of Sirt1, regulated by NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4), on ANF secretion in isolated beating rat atria during hypoxia. ANF secretion was analyzed using radioimmunoassays and protein expression levels were determined by western blotting and immunofluorescence staining. Intra-atrial pressure was recorded using a physiograph. Hypoxia significantly upregulated Sirt1 and nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) protein expression levels, together with significantly increased ANF secretion. Hypoxia-induced protein expression of Sirt1 was significantly blocked by a NOX4 inhibitor, GLX351322, and Nrf2 protein expression levels were significantly abolished using the Sirt1 inhibitor, EX527. Hypoxia also significantly elevated the protein expression levels of phosphorylated-Akt and sequestosome 1 and significantly downregulated Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 protein expression levels. These effects were significantly blocked by EX527, preventing hypoxia-induced Nrf2 expression. An Nrf2 inhibitor, ML385, significantly abolished the hypoxia-induced upregulation of activating transcription factor (ATF)3, ATF4, T cell factor (TCF)3 and TCF4/lymphoid enhancer factor 1 (LEF1) protein expression levels, and significantly attenuated hypoxia-induced ANF secretion. These results indicated that Sirt1 and Nrf2, regulated by NOX4, can potentially stimulate TCF3 and TCF4/LEF1 signaling via ATF3 and ATF4 activation, thereby potentially participating in the regulation of ANF secretion in beating rat atria during hypoxia. In conclusion, intervening with the Sirt1/Nrf2/ATF signaling pathway may be an effective strategy for resisting oxidative stress damage in the heart during hypoxia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hemorrhagic transformation (HT) is a common complication of acute ischemic stroke, often resulting from reperfusion therapy. Early prediction of HT can enable stroke neurologists to undertake measures to avoid clinical deterioration and make optimal treatment strategies. Moreover, the trend of extending the time window for reperfusion therapy (both for intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular treatment) further requires more precise detection of HT tendency. SUMMARY In this review, we summarized and discussed the neuroimaging markers of HT prediction of acute ischemic stroke patients, mainly focusing on neuroimaging markers of ischemic degree and neuroimaging markers of blood-brain barrier permeability. This review is aimed to provide a concise introduction of HT prediction and to elicit possibilities of future research combining advanced technology to improve the accessibility and accuracy of HT prediction under emergent clinical settings. Key Messages: Substantial studies have utilized neuroimaging, blood biomarkers, and clinical variables to predict HT occurrence. Although huge progress has been made, more individualized and precise HT prediction using simple and robust imaging predictors combining stroke onset time should be the future goal of development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Current research on perinatal depression rarely pays attention to the continuity and volatility of depression symptoms over time, which is very important for the early prediction and prognostic evaluation of perinatal depression. This study investigated the trajectories of perinatal depression symptoms and aimed to explore the factors related to these trajectories. METHODS The study recruited 550 women during late pregnancy (32 ± 4 weeks of gestation) and followed them up 1 and 6 weeks postpartum. Depressive symptoms were measured using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Latent growth mixture modelling (LGMM) was used to identify trajectories of depressive symptoms during pregnancy. RESULTS Two trajectories of perinatal depressive symptoms were identified: "decreasing" (n = 524, 95.3%) and "increasing" (n = 26, 4.7%). History of smoking, alcohol use and gestational hypertension increased the chance of belonging to the increasing trajectories, and a high level of social support was a protective factor for maintaining a decreasing trajectory. CONCLUSIONS This study identified two trajectories of perinatal depression and the factors associated with each trajectory. Paying attention to these factors and providing necessary psychological support services during pregnancy would effectively reduce the incidence of perinatal depression and improve patient prognosis.
