Abstract
Gyrovirus galga1 (GyVg1), a member of the Anelloviridae family and Gyrovirus genus, has been detected in chicken and human tissue samples. In this study, the DNA of GyVg1-related gyroviruses in the sera of six dogs and three cats from Central and Eastern China was identified using PCR. Alignment analysis between the nine obtained and reference GyVg1 strains revealed that the genome identity ranged from 99.20% (DOG03 and DOG04 strains) to 96.17% (DOG01 and DOG06 strains). Six recombination events were predicted in multiple strains, including DOG01, DOG05, DOG06, CAT01, CAT02, and CAT03. The predicted major and minor parents of DOG05 came from Brazil. The DOG06 strain is potentially recombined from strains originating from humans and cats, whereas DOG01 is potentially recombined from G17 (ferret-originated) and Ave3 (chicken-originated), indicating that transmissions across species and regions may occur. Sixteen representative amino acid mutation sites were identified: nine in VP1 (12 R/H, 114S/N, 123I/M, 167 L/P, 231 P/S, 237 P/L, 243 R/W, 335 T/A, and 444S/N), four in VP2 (81 A/P, 103 R/H, 223 R/G, and 228 A/T), and three in VP3 (38 M/I, 61 A/T, and 65 V/A). These mutations were only harbored in strains identified in dogs and cats in this study. Whether this is related to host tropism needs further investigation. In this study, GyVg1 was identified in the sera of dogs and cats, and the molecular characteristics prompted the attention of public health.

Abstract
Severe acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) was first detected in Guangdong province of China in 2017. And yet from May 2021 to Jun 2023, there were no SADS-CoV outbreaks. In this study, we reported the recent outbreak of SADS-CoV in China on Jun 2023. Phylogenetic analysis showed the novel strain was derived from the ongoing transmission and evolution of SADS-CoV in China, rather than a separate cross-species transmission from bats. Also, the novel strain was found to participate in a recombant event as a minor parent and a missing base in the genome was discovered indicating an novel evolutionary pathway. Through virulence assays in piglets, we further determined that novel strain (SADS-CoV/HNNY/2023) was a highly virulent SADS-CoV strain with typical clinical symptoms: acute diarrhea, vomiting, rapid weight loss. Therefore, the re-emergence of SADS-CoV strains should be brought to people's attention.

Abstract
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation is an internal post-transcriptional modification that has been linked to viral multiplication and pathogenicity. To elucidate the conservation patterns of potential 5'-DRACH-3' motifs in avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J), 149 ALV-J strains (139 isolates from China; ALV-J prototype HPRS-103 from the UK; and 9 strains from the USA, Russia, India, and Pakistan) available in GenBank before December 2023 were retrieved. According to the prediction results of the SRAMP web-server, these ALV-J genomes contained potential DRACH motifs, with the total number ranging from 43 to 64, which were not determined based on the isolation region and time. Conservative analysis suggested that 37 motifs exhibited a conservation of >80%, including 17 motifs with a grading above "high confidence." Although these motifs were distributed in the U5 region of LTRs and major coding regions, they were enriched in the coding regions of p27, p68, p32, and gp85. The most common m6A-motif sequence of the DRACH motif in the ALV-J genome was GGACU. The RNA secondary structure of each conserved motif predicted by SRAMP and RNAstructure web-server was mainly of two types-A-U pair (21/37) and hairpin loop (16/37)-based on the core adenosine. Considering the systematic comparative analysis performed in this study, future thorough biochemical research is warranted to determine the role of m6A modification during the replication and infection of ALV-J. These conservation and distribution analysis of the DRACH motif for potential m6A sites in ALV-J would provide a foundation for the future intervention of ALV-J infection and m6A modification.

Abstract
AIM To identify clinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics predictors specialised for intracranial progression (IP) after first-line epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases (BMs). MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy EGFR-mutated NSCLC patients with a total of 212 BMs who received first-line EGFR-TKI therapy were enrolled. Radiomics features were extracted from the BM regions on the pretreatment contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images, and the radiomics score (rad-score) of each BM was established based on the selected features. Furthermore, the mean rad-score derived from the average rad-score of all included BMs in each patient was calculated. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify potential predictors of IP. Prediction models based on different predictors and their combinations were constructed, and nomogram based on the optimal prediction model was evaluated. RESULTS Thirty-three (47.1 %) patients developed IP, and the remaining 37 (52.9 %) patients were IP-free. EGFR-19del mutation (OR 0.19, 95 % CI 0.05-0.69), third-generation TKI treatment (OR 0.33, 95 % CI 0.16-0.67) and mean rad-score (OR 5.71, 95 % CI 1.65-19.68) were found to be independent predictive factors. Models based on these three predictors alone and in combination (combined model) achieved AUCs of 0.64, 0.64, 0.74, and 0.86 and 0.64, 0.64, 0.75, and 0.84 in the training and validation sets, respectively, and the combined model demonstrated optimal performance for predicting IP. CONCLUSIONS The model integrating EGFR-19del mutation, third-generation TKI treatment and mean rad-score had good predictive value for IP after EGFR-TKI treatment in NSCLC patients with BM.

Abstract
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation in transcripts has been suggested to influence tumorigenesis in liver tumors caused by the avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J). However, m6A modifications during ALV-J infection in vitro remain unclear. Herein, we performed m6A and RNA sequencing in ALV-J-infected chicken fibroblasts (DF-1). A total of 51 differentially expressed genes containing differentially methylated peaks were identified, which were markedly enriched in microRNAs (miRNAs) in cancer cells as well as apoptosis, mitophagy and autophagy, RNA degradation, and Hippo and MAPK signaling pathways. Correlation analysis indicated that YTHDC1 (m6A-reader gene) plays a key role in m6A modulation during ALV-J infection. The env gene of ALV-J harbored the strongest peak, and untranslated regions and long terminal repeats also contained peaks of different degrees. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first thorough analysis of m6A patterns in ALV-J-infected DF-1 cells. Combined with miRNA profiles, this study provides a useful basis for future research into the key pathways of ALV-J infection associated with m6A alteration.

Abstract
Generating ion-photon entanglement is a crucial step for scalable trapped-ion quantum networks. To avoid the crosstalk on memory qubits carrying quantum information, it is common to use a different ion species for ion-photon entanglement generation such that the scattered photons are far off-resonant for the memory qubits. However, such a dual-species scheme can be subject to inefficient sympathetic cooling due to the mass mismatch of the ions. Here we demonstrate a trapped-ion quantum network node in the dual-type qubit scheme where two types of qubits are encoded in the S and F hyperfine structure levels of 171Yb+ ions. We generate ion photon entanglement for the S-qubit in a typical timescale of hundreds of milliseconds, and verify its small crosstalk on a nearby F-qubit with coherence time above seconds. Our work demonstrates an enabling function of the dual-type qubit scheme for scalable quantum networks.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To measure the burden of hepatitis C-associated diseases in China from 1990 to 2019, and to predict its changes from 2020 to 2044, so as to provide insights into formulation of the targeted hepatitis C control strategy. METHODS The total burden due to hepatitis C-associated diseases in China from 1990 to 2019 were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 (GBD 2019) data resources, and the trends in age-standardized prevalence, incidence, mortality and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) rate of hepatitis C-associated acute hepatitis C (AHC), chronic liver diseases (CLD) and liver cancer in China from 1990 to 2019 were evaluated in China from 1990 to 2019 using estimated annual percentage change (EAPC). In addition, the changes in the burden of hepatitis C-associated diseases were predicted in China from 2020 to 2044 using a Bayesian model. RESULTS The prevalence, incidence, mortality and DALY rate of hepatitis C-associated diseases all appeared an overall tendency towards a decline in China from 1990 to 2019 (EAPC = -2.64%, -2.24%, -3.81% and -3.90%, respectively); however, there was a minor rise in the incidence and prevalence of hepatitis C-associated diseases from 2015 to 2019. The overall prevalence of hepatitis C-associated diseases reduced from 2 152.7/105 in 1990 to 1 254.1/105 in 2019 in China, with a reduction of 41.7%. The overall incidence reduced from 87.9/105 in 1990 to 55.0/105 in 2019 in China, with a reduction of 37.4%, and the highest incidence was seen for AHC, followed by CLD and liver cancer. The overall mortality and DALY rate of hepatitis C-associated diseases was 4.0/105 and 100.8/105 in China from 1990 to 2019, with CLD showing the largest contributions to the gross mortality and DALY. The mortality and DALY rate of hepatitis C-associated diseases were 5.5/105 and 142.4/105 among men in China in 2019, which were both much higher than among women (2.8/105 and 60.3/105, respectively), and the overall prevalence (1 604.9/105), mortality (30.2/105) and DALYs (437.1/105) of hepatitis C-associated diseases were all highest among patients at ages of 70 years and older, and the highest incidence was seen among patients at ages of 0 to 9 years (167.3/105). The incidence of hepatitis C-associated diseases was predicted to rise in China from 2020 to 2044; however, the DALY rate was projected to appear a tendency towards a decline. CONCLUSIONS Although the burden of hepatitis C-associated diseases showed a tendency towards a decline in China from 1990 to 2019, the burden remained high, and was predicted to slightly rise from 2020 to 2044. High attention should be paid to screening of hepatitis C among infants and treatment among adults.

Abstract
Coreopsis tinctoria is an annual herb and commonly cultivated in gardens due to its attractive flowers, its capitula also have been used as a traditional medicine in China, Asia, North America and Europe (Shen et al. 2021). In June 2023, severe powdery mildew infection was observed on C. tinctoria in a hillside near headwork of the middle route of the South to North Water Diversion Project (32°40'55''N, 111°41'59''E). Abundant irregular white spots were found on adaxial surface of the leaves and tender stems. Approximately 75% of the observed C. tinctoria plants showed these signs and symptoms. Generative hyphae were thin-walled, smooth or almost so, and 5 to 9 μm wide. Conidiophores were unbranched, straight, 80.5 to 162.5 × 9.3 to 12.9 μm (n=25), and produced one to three immature conidia. Foot-cells of conidiophores were cylindrical, 38.5 to 62.3 μm (n=20) long. Conidia were ellipsoid to ovoid, 25.1 to 31.9 × 15.2 to 19.5 μm (n=30). The morphological characteristics of asexual structures corresponded to Podosphaera sp. (Braun and Cook 2012). For further identification, genomic DNA was extracted directly from the mycelia and conidia using Chelex 100 (Sigma Aldrich, Shanghai, China). The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions and 28S large subunit (LSU) of ribosomal DNA from the specimen (CT2302) were amplified using the primers ITS1/ITS4 (expected amplicon size 566 bp) (White et al. 1990) and NL1/NL4 (expected amplicon size 618 bp) (Baten et al. 2014), respectively. The sequences of ITS (GenBank accession no. OR649304) and LSU (GenBank accession no. OR649305) showed 99.63% and 100% identity values to the Podosphaera fusca isolate HMNWAFU-CF2012074 in the NCBI database (KR048109 for ITS and KR048178 for LSU), respectively. Phylogenetic analyses based on the combined ITS and LSU sequences using MEGA 7.0 software indicated that CT2302 formed a monophyletic clade together with isolates of P. fusca. Therefore, this fungus was identified as P. fusca based on the morphological and molecular characteristics. Pathogenicity tests were performed by gently pressing the infected leaves onto 15 young leaves of five healthy plants and three noninoculated plants were used as controls. All plants were maintained in a greenhouse (25℃ and 70% relative humidity). Powdery mildew symptoms similar to those of originally diseased plants were observed on all inoculated leaves after 12 days, whereas no symptoms were observed on the control leaves. Powdery mildew caused by P. fusca (previously Sphaerotheca fusca) on C. tinctoria has been reported in Russia, Poland, Korea, Romania and Ukraine (Cho and Shin 2004; Rusanov and Bulgakow 2008). To our knowledge, this is the first report of P. fusca on C. tinctoria in China. The identification of P. fusca as the causal agent on C. tinctoria is critical to the prevention and control of this disease in the future.

Abstract
Chicken chaphamaparvovirus (CkChpV) is a newly emerging pathogen that is currently prevalent in chickens with diarrhea symptoms. To diagnose CkChpV more conveniently and rapidly, this study established a multienzyme isothermal rapid amplification (MIRA) assay, with a reaction time of only 15 min and optimal reaction temperature of 38°C. In combination with the lateral flow dipstick assay, the CkChpV-MIRA assay can be completed within 20 min. We revealed that the detection limit of the MIRA assay using standard plasmids as templates was as low as 21.3 copies, and its sensitivity was 100 times higher than that of nested PCR. Moreover, the designed primer set and probe could only detect CkChpV specifically, and there was no cross reaction with avian nephritis virus, rotavirus, chicken parvovirus virus, Newcastle disease virus, and infectious bronchitis virus, which may cause diarrhea. These findings demonstrated that the CkChpV-MIRA assay established in this study is convenient, sensitive, and specific and does not require sophisticated equipment. It is more suitable for the detection of CkChpV in clinical samples.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To measure the burden of hepatitis B-associated diseases in China from 1990 to 2019, and to predict its changes from 2020 to 2030. METHODS The age-standardized prevalence, incidence, mortality and disability-adjusted life years (DALY) rate of hepatitis B-associated diseases in China from 1990 to 2019 were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 (GBD 2019) data resources, and the trends in burdens of hepatitis B-associated diseases were evaluated from 1990 to 2019 using estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) and annual percent change (APC). In addition, the changes in the burden of hepatitis B-associated diseases were predicted in China from 2020 to 2023 using the Bayesian model. RESULTS The overall incidence of hepatitis B-associated diseases reduced from 2 725.98/105 in 1990 to 1 397.31/105 in 2019 in China [estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) = -2.35%, 95% confidential interval (CI): (-2.58%, -2.13%)], with a reduction in the prevalence from 12 239.53/105 in 1990 to 6 566.12/105 in 2019 [EAPC = -2.34%, 95% CI: (-2.54%, -2.14%)], a reduction in the mortality from 24.67/105 in 1990 to 8.07/105 in 2019 [EAPC = -4.92%, 95% CI: (-5.37%, -4.47%)], and a reduction in the DALY rate from 793.38/105 in 1990 to 247.71/105 in 2019 [(EAPC = -5.15%, 95% CI: (-5.64%, -4.66%)]. The DALY rate of hepatitis B-associated diseases were mainly attributed to liver cancer, and the DALY rate of hepatitis B-associated diseases appeared a tendency towards a rise in China from 2012 to 2019 [APC = 1.30%, 95% CI: (0.16%, 2.45%)]. The overall burden of hepatitis Bassociated diseases was higher in males than in females, and the DALY rate of hepatitis B-associated diseases increased with age, with the greatest DALY rate seen among patients at ages of 50 to 69 years. The overall incidence of hepatitis B-associated diseases was projected to be 866.79/105 in China in 2030, with the greatest incidence seen in acute hepatitis B (854.87/105), and the burden of hepatitis B-associated diseases was predicted to decline in China from 2020 to 2030; however, the burden of liver disease was projected to appear a tendency towards a rise. CONCLUSIONS The burden of hepatitis B-associated diseases appears an overall tendency towards a decline in China from 1990 to 2030; however, the burden of liver cancer appears a tendency towards aggravation. Early diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer should be given a high priority.

Abstract
Chaphamaparvovirus carnivoran2 (feline chaphamaparvovirus, FeChPV) is a novel feline parvovirus originally detected in Canadian cats in 2019, and it has also been identified in domestic cats in other nations. To evaluate the prevalence and genetic diversity of FeChPV in China, rectal swabs of pet cats from Henan, Guangdong, Anhui, Zhejiang, and Inner Mongolia provinces were collected. Of the 230 samples subjected to nested polymerase chain reaction, 6 (2.6%) tested positive for FeChPV. Although all positive samples were from cats with diarrhea, statistical analyses revealed no correlation between the presence of the virus and clinical symptoms (p > 0.05). Phylogenetic trees of nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) and capsid protein (VP1) demonstrated that these six new strains formed a major branch with other reference FeChPV strains and considerably differed from Chaphamaparvoviru carnivoran1. Moreover, recombination analysis revealed that the FeChPV strain CHN20201025, previously detected in a dog, was a recombinant and strains CHN200228 and CHN180917, identified in this study, were the closest relatives to the parental strains. The findings of this study and a previous study wherein FeChPV was detected in dogs suggest that FeChPV can propagate between species. Additionally, these findings indicate that the genetic diversity of FeChPV can provide an insight into the epidemiological status of FeChPV in China.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Previous studies showed that selective bladder-sparing approach using TMT is an established therapy of MIBC with outcomes that are comparable to those of radical cystectomy. However, it has been shown that the 5-year local recurrence in the bladder is greater than 40% after TMT. One of the possible reasons was that the RT dose to the bladder tumor or tumor bed was insufficient. Thus, we assessed the effectiveness and safety of Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) boost to bladder tumor or tumor bed for patients with muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 59 consecutive patients with cT2-4 bladder cancer underwent transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT). TURBT was visibly complete in 25 cases. Patients received SABR to the tumor or tumor bed in the bladder followed by conventionally fractionated RT (CFRT) to pelvis and total bladder with concomitant weekly radio-sensitizing chemotherapy. During SABR intravesical installation of isovolumetric saline through urinary catheter ensured adequate bladder filling. Response rate was assessed by cystoscopic evaluation and pelvic MRI or CT. Toxicities were reported per the RTOG acute and late Radiation Morbidity Scoring Schema. RESULTS The median age of all patients was 76 years (35-90 years). All patients completed SBRT boost and 61% patients received concurrent Gemcitabine chemotherapy. After a median follow-up time of 28 months, the rate of local control (LC) at 3 years was 90.0%. The overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) rates at 3 years were 61.6% and 77.5%, respectively. Of the surviving patients, 84.4% have a disease-free and functioning bladder. Acute grade 3 gastrointestinal (GI) or genitourinary (GU) toxicities occurred in only 1.7% of the patients. Late grade 3 GU toxicity occurred in 5.1% of the patients. No patients experienced grade 4 GI or GU toxicities. CONCLUSION SABR boost followed by chemoradiation to the pelvis was found to be a well-tolerated and effective treatment for MIBC patients who are either not candidates for cystectomy or who desire bladder preservation. Randomized study is required to further evaluate this novel tri-modality treatment paradigm.

Abstract
To evaluate the recent evolution of CIAV in China, 43 flocks of chickens from the provinces of Henan, Jiangsu, Hubei, and Anhui were screened via polymerase chain reaction during 2020-2022. Of these, 27 flocks tested positive for CIAV nucleic acids, including 12 which were positive for other immunosuppression viruses. Additionally, 27 CIAV strains were isolated, and their whole genomes were sequenced. The AH2001 and JS2002 strains shared the highest identity at 99.56%, and the HB2102 and HB2101 strains shared the lowest identity at 95.34%. Based on the genome sequences of these strains and reference strains, a phylogenetic tree was constructed and divided into eight main branches. Most of the strains were grouped with the East Asian strains, whereas the HB2101 strain belonged to the Brazil and Argentina cluster. A recombination event was detected in multiple strains, in which AH2002 recombined from KJ728827/China/2014 (from Taiwan Province) and HN2203, and AH2202 recombined from KX811526/China/2017 (from Shandong Province) and HN2203. All the obtained strains had a highly pathogenic Gln amino acid site at position 394 of the VP1. Overall, our findings demonstrate the importance of CIAV monitoring and provide data that aid in understanding the evolution of CIAV.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Porcine circovirus 4 (PCV4), a newly emerging virus that was first discovered in 2019, may pose a potential threat to the pig industry. Droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) is an absolute quantitative method that has high sensitivity and accuracy. In this study, we developed a novel ddPCR assay to detect PCV4. Furthermore, we evaluated the detection limit, sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility of the ddPCR and TaqMan real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) and tested 160 clinical samples to compare the detection rate of the two methods. RESULTS The detection limit for ddPCR was 0.54 copies/µL, 10.6 times greater sensitivity than qPCR. Both ddPCR and qPCR assays exhibited good linearity and repeatability, and the established ddPCR method was highly specific for PCV4. The results of clinical sample testing showed that the positivity rate of ddPCR (5.6%) was higher than that of qPCR (4.4%). CONCLUSIONS This study successfully developed a sensitive, specific and repeatable ddPCR assay for PCV4 detection, which can be widely used in clinical diagnosis of PCV4 infections.

Abstract
The patient had received five courses of anti-tuberculosis treatment for recurrent tuberculosis. The drug sensitivity test results of the first three courses showed drug-sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis, and the fourth diagnosis was rifampin-resistant tuberculosis (RR-TB), complicated by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, type Ⅱ respiratory failure, pulmonary heart disease, and heart failure (grade Ⅲ). The patient stopped taking the anti-tuberculosis drugs on his own in the eighth month of receiving the resistant treatment. After admission, the symptoms improved temporarily after receiving oxygen therapy, anti-infection, and anti-tuberculosis treatment. Because of hemoptysis, the patient underwent arterial embolization by catheterization, but a large amount of hemoptysis occurred shortly thereafter. Emergency left total lung resection and gauze packing for hemostasis were performed. After surgery, the patient's vital signs were maintained with mechanical ventilation and vasopressors. Forty-eight hours after surgery, the gauze was removed, and the patient underwent tracheotomy, enteral nutrition, and anti-tuberculosis treatment. After discharge, the patient underwent rehabilitative exercise and anti-resistant tuberculosis therapy. The patient's condition remained stable for more than six months of follow-up.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of sugammadex on postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV) after intracranial aneurysm surgery. Methods: Data from intracranial aneurysms patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and underwent interventional surgery in the Department of Neurosurgery, Peking University International Hospital from January 2020 to March 2021 were prospectively included. According to the random number table method, the patients were divided by 1∶1 into the neostigmine+atropine group (group N) and the sugammadex group (group S). Use an acceleration muscle relaxation monitor for muscle relaxation monitoring, and administer neostigmine+atropine and sugammadex to block residual muscle relaxation drugs after surgery. The incidence rates of PONV and severity, the appearance of anesthesia, and the correlation between PONV and postoperative complications were recorded in both groups during five periods after surgery: 0-0.5 hours (T1),>0.5-2.0 hours(T2),>2.0-6.0 hours (T3),>6.0-12.0 hours (T4) and >12.0-24.0 hours (T5). Group comparisons of quantitative data were performed by the independent sample t-test, and categorical data was performed by the χ2 or rank sum test. Results: A total of 66 patients were included in the study, including 37 males and 29 female, aged (59.3±15.4) years (range: 18 to 77 years). The incidence rates of PONV of 33 patients in group S at different time periods of T1, T2, T3, T4, and T5 after surgery were respectively 27.3%(9/33),30.3%(10/33),12.1%(4/33),3.0%(1/33),0(0/33),and the incidence rates of PONV of 33 patients in the group N at different time periods of T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 after surgery were respectively 36.4%(12/33),36.4%(12/33),33.3%(11/33),6.1%(2/33) and 0(0/33).The incidence of PONV was lower in the group S only in the T3 period after reversal than in the group N (χ2=4.227, P=0.040).However, there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of PONV between the two groups of patients in other periods (all P>0.05). The recovery time for spontaneous breathing in patients in group S was (7.7±1.4) minutes, the extubation time was (12.4±5.3) minutes, and the safe exit time for anesthesia recovery was (12.3±3.4) minutes; the N groups were (13.9±2.0) minutes, (18.2±6.0) minutes, and (18.6±5.2) minutes, respectively; three time periods in group S were shorter than those in group N, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). The results regarding the occurrence of complications in patients with different levels of PONV at different time intervals after surgery in the two groups were as follows: in the T3 time period of group N, a significant difference was observed only in the occurrence of postoperative complications among patients with different levels of PONV (χ2=24.786, P<0.01). However, in the T4 time period, significant differences were found in the occurrence of postoperative complications among both the same level and different level PONV patients (χ2=15.435, 15.435, both P<0.01). Significant differences were also observed in the occurrence of postoperative complications among the same level and different level PONV patients in both the T3 and T4 time periods of group S (all P<0.01). Conclusion: Sugammadex can be used to reverse muscle relaxation in patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm intervention surgery,and it does not have a significant impact on the incidence of PONV, it can also optimize the quality of anesthesia recovery and reduce the incidence of complications after intracranial aneurysm embolization surgery.

Abstract
Cats are a potential source of genetic diversity for parvoviruses. Herein, 134 samples were collected from cats with clinical gastroenteritis and analyzed for the presence of viral DNA via polymerase chain reaction, which revealed 48 positive samples. Identity analysis of VP2 nucleotide sequences indicated that these 48 strains, belonging to feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) and canine parvovirus type-2 (CPV-2; including new CPV-2a and CPV-2c genotypes), shared 94.59-99.94% nucleotide identity with the reference strains. The FPV strain F8 (isolated from Vietnam) appeared to be a recombinant of strains HB2003 and JS1901, whereas the Chinese CPV-2b strain BM-(11) isolated in 2011 was believed to be a recombinant of strains AH2008 and JS1901. In phylogenetic tree analysis based on VP2 nucleotide sequences, all obtained FPV strains and most reference FPV strains were clustered together, except strain BJ-22, which originated from monkeys. Further, two new CPV-2a strains (AH2005 and AH2008) were close to the newly reported Chinese CPV-2a strains but were distant from the other CPV-2a strains, namely CPV-339 (from the United States) and K022 (from South Korea). Additionally, the FPV and CPV-2 strains had high mutation rates in the antigenic regions of the VP2 protein. According to model prediction of the CPV-VP2 protein, these mutations may cause changes in the tertiary structure of VP2. The findings of this study can be used to improve the pre-evaluation of vaccination efficacy against diseases caused by FPV and CPV-2 in domestic cats and understand their genotypic transmission and mutation trends.

The Foley catheter is one of the most commonly used devices in modern surgical practice. Over time, it has evolved into being applied in more complex and innovative ways in various other specialties apart from urology. In this review article, we describe some of the common and novel uses of this deceptively simple device, and discuss the scope of its application in modern medicine.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Subtotal cholecystectomy (STC) is a safe approach in difficult cholecystectomies to prevent bile duct and vascular injury. However, the gallbladder remnant can become symptomatic, necessitating further surgical intervention. This study evaluates the safety profile and perioperative outcomes of remnant cholecystectomy (RC) performed under intraoperative ultrasound guidance. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the records of all patients that underwent RC under intraoperative ultrasound guidance in 2009 and 2019. Pre-, intra- and postoperative details of patients who underwent RC were obtained from patients' electronic and paper copy records. RESULTS Ninety-seven patients underwent STC during the study period. Of this cohort, 16 patients (16.5%) presented with symptomatic gallbladder remnant over a median follow-up period of 14 months (interquartile range [IQR] 2-26). The median age was 64 years (IQR 54-69) with an equal male-to-female distribution. The median body mass index was 31kg/m2 (IQR 28-33). Twelve of 16 patients (75%) then proceeded to elective RC. Intraoperative ultrasound was used in all cases to identify the location of the remnant gallbladder and biliary anatomy. The median operative time was 88min (IQR 80-96), with 67% completed laparoscopically. No patients suffered bile duct injury. The median hospital stay was 3 days (IQR 1-5). During the follow-up period, eight patients (67%) reported symptom resolution. CONCLUSIONS RC is a safe operation that can be performed laparoscopically even after previous open subtotal cholecystectomy. We recommend the routine use of intraoperative ultrasound as an adjunct for identifying remnant gallbladder and biliary anatomy in all patients.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the association between clinical phenotypes of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients and a rare calcium channel and regulatory gene variation (Ca2+ gene variation) and to compare clinical phenotypes of HCM patients with Ca2+ gene variation, a single sarcomere gene variation and without gene variation and to explore the influence of rare Ca2+ gene variation on the clinical phenotypes of HCM. Methods: Eight hundred forty-two non-related adult HCM patients diagnosed for the first time in Xijing Hospital from 2013 to 2019 were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent exon analyses of 96 hereditary cardiac disease-related genes. Patients with diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, post alcohol septal ablation or septal myectomy, and patients who carried sarcomere gene variation of uncertain significance or carried>1 sarcomere gene variation or carried>1 Ca2+ gene variation, with HCM pseudophenotype or carrier of ion channel gene variations other than Ca2+ based on the genetic test results were excluded. Patients were divided into gene negative group (no sarcomere or Ca2+ gene variants), sarcomere gene variation group (only 1 sarcomere gene variant) and Ca2+ gene variant group (only 1 Ca2+ gene variant). Baseline data, echocardiography and electrocardiogram data were collected for analysis. Results: A total of 346 patients were enrolled, including 170 patients without gene variation (gene negative group), 154 patients with a single sarcomere gene variation (sarcomere gene variation group) and 22 patients with a single rare Ca2+ gene variation (Ca2+ gene variation group). Compared with gene negative group, patients in Ca2+ gene variation group had higher blood pressure and higher percentage of family history of HCM and sudden cardiac death (P<0.05); echocardiographic results showed that patients in Ca2+ gene variation group had thicker ventricular septum ((23.5±5.8) mm vs. (22.3±5.7) mm, P<0.05); electrocardiographic results showed that patients in Ca2+ gene variation group had prolonged QT interval ((416.6±23.1) ms vs. (400.6±47.2) ms, P<0.05) and higher RV5+SV1 ((4.51±2.26) mv vs. (3.50±1.65) mv, P<0.05). Compared with sarcomere gene variation group, patients in Ca2+ gene variation group had later onset age and higher blood pressure (P<0.05); echocardiographic results showed that there was no significant difference in ventricular septal thickness between two groups; patients in Ca2+ gene variation group had lower percentage of left ventricular outflow tract pressure gradient>30 mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa, 22.8% vs. 48.1%, P<0.05) and the lower early diastolic peak velocity of the mitral valve inflow/early diastolic peak velocity of the mitral valve annulus (E/e') ratio ((13.0±2.5) vs. (15.9±4.2), P<0.05); patients in Ca2+ gene variation group had prolonged QT interval ((416.6±23.1) ms vs. (399.0±43.0) ms, P<0.05) and lower percentage of ST segment depression (9.1% vs. 40.3%, P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with gene negative group, the clinical phenotype of HCM is more severe in patients with rare Ca2+ gene variation; compared with patients with sarcomere gene variation, the clinical phenotype of HCM is milder in patients with rare Ca2+ gene variation.

Abstract
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), which re-emerged in China in 2010, has caused severe economic losses to the global pig industry. In this study, a PEDV strain, designated PEDV WMB, was isolated from piglets with severe diarrhea on a pig farm in Henan Province of China. Whole-genome sequencing and analysis revealed that the PEDV WMB strain belongs to subtype G2c and has a unique continuous mutation in the S10 antigenic epitope of the S protein. Moreover, the virus-neutralization (VN) test indicated that polyclonal antibodies against the S10 protein of other G1 and G2 strains showed reduced VN reactivity to PEDV WMB. The pathogenicity of PEDV WMB was further investigated in 3 day-old piglets. PEDV infection-related clinical symptoms and morphological lesions were observed and confirmed by histopathological and immunohistochemical examination (IHC). These results illustrated that continuous mutation of the S10 epitope might affect the immunogenicity or pathogenicity of PEDV, providing evidence of the need to monitor the genetic diversity of the virus and develop effective measures to prevent and control PEDV.

Abstract
Spider flower (Tarenaya (Cleome) hassleriana (Chodat) Iltis, Cleomaceae) is an excellent ornamental landscape plant and has an extensive flowering period, and therefore, plays an important role in horticulture (Parma et al. 2022). In May 2020 and April 2021, severe powdery mildew symptoms were observed on spider flower plants in a public garden (22.35°N and 113.56°E) in Shenzhen, China. Approximately 60 % of the plants were infected, and the adaxial surface of diseased leaves were covered with irregular white patches, which developed on tender to old leaves. In severe infections, drying and premature defoliation of infected leaves were observed. Microscopic examinations of mycelia showed irregularly lobed hyphal appressoria. Conidiophores (n = 30) were straight, unbranched, 65.65-92.11 μm long, and consisted of two to three cells. Conidia were formed singly on the top of conidiophores, cylindrical to oblong, 32.15-42.60 × 14.88-18.43 μm (mean 38.26 × 16.89, n = 50), and without distinct fibrosin bodies. Chasmothecia were not observed. The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region and 28S rDNA was amplified using the primer sets ITS1/ITS5 and NL1/NL4, respectively. The representative sequences of ITS and 28S rDNA (GenBank accession nos.: MW879365 for ITS and MW879435 for 28S rDNA) analyzed by BLASTN search and showed 100 % identity with the sequences from Erysiphe cruciferarum found in GenBank (accession nos.: LC009943 for ITS and MF192846 for 28S rDNA). Phylogenetic analyses were conducted for further confirmation by using the combined sequences of ITS and 28S rDNA and indicated that the isolate ZDH046 grouped in a clade with isolates of E. cruciferarum (Figure S2). Based on morphological and molecular characteristics, this fungus was identified as E. cruciferarum (Braun and Cook, 2012). Koch's postulates were confirmed by gently pressing conidia from diseased leaves onto 30 leaves of healthy spider flower plants. After incubating for 10 d in a greenhouse (25 ℃ and 75 % relative humidity), similar symptoms to the diseased plants appeared on all inoculated leaves, whereas control leaves remained symptomless. Powdery mildew caused by E. cruciferarum on T. hassleriana has so far only been reported from France (Ale-Agha et al. 2008), Germany (Jage et al. 2010), Italy (Garibaldi et al. 2009), and New Zealand (Pennycook 1989, E. polygoni). To our knowledge, this is the first report of E. cruciferarum causing powdery mildew on T. hassleriana in China. This finding expands the known host range of E. cruciferarum in China and indicates a potential threat to plantations of T. hassleriana in China.

Abstract
Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) causes diarrhea and vomiting in neonatal piglets worldwide and has the potential for cross-species transmission. Therefore, virus-like particles (VLPs) are promising vaccine candidates because of their safety and strong immunogenicity. To the best of our knowledge, the present study reported for the first time the generation of PDCoV VLPs using a baculovirus expression vector system, and electron micrograph analyses revealed that PDCoV VLPs appeared as spherical particles with a diameter similar to that of the native virions. Furthermore, PDCoV VLPs effectively induced mice to produce PDCoV-specific IgG and neutralizing antibodies. In addition, VLPs could stimulate mouse splenocytes to produce high levels of cytokines IL-4 and IFN-γ. Moreover, the combination of PDCoV VLPs and Freund's adjuvant could improve the level of the immune response. Together, these data showed that PDCoV VLPs could effectively elicit humoral and cellular immunity in mice, laying a solid foundation for developing VLP-based vaccines to prevent PDCoV infections.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the pathogenic characteristics, bacteriological diagnosis time and its associated factors among patients with nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease in a large tuberculosis-designated hospital in Shanghai from 2020 to 2021, in order to improve diagnosis efficiency and formulate precision treatment. Methods: On the basis of the Tuberculosis Database in Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, NTM patients diagnosed by the Department of Tuberculosis between January 2020 and December 2021 were screened. Demographic, clinical and bacterial information were retrospectively collected. Chi-square test, paired-sample nonparametric test and logistic regression model were used to analyze the factors associated with the diagnosis time of NTM lung disease. Results: A total of 294 patients with bacteriologically confirmed NTM lung disease were included in this study, 147 males and 147 females with a median age of 61(46, 69) years. Of them, 227 (77.2%) patients had comorbidity of bronchiectasis. Species identification results showed that Mycobacterium Avium-Intracellulare Complex was the main pathogen of NTM lung disease (56.1%), followed by Mycobacterium kansasii (19.0%) and Mycobacterium abscessus (15.3%). Species such as Mycobacterium xenopi and Mycobacterium malmoense were rarely identified, accounting for a total proportion of only 3.1%. Positive culture rates for sputum, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and puncture fluid were 87.4%, 80.3% and 61.5%, respectively. Paired-sample analysis showed that the positive rate of sputum culture was significantly higher than that of smear microscopy (87.1% vs. 48.4%, P<0.01), while no statistical difference was observed between sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid on positive culture rate (78.7% vs. 77.3%, P>0.05). Patients with cough or expectoration were observed with 4.04-fold (95%CI 1.80-9.05) or 2.95-fold (95%CI 1.34-6.52) higher probability of positive sputum culture, compared to those without. Regarding bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, female or patients with bronchiectasis had a 2.82-fold (95%CI 1.16-6.88) or 2.38-fold (95%CI 1.01-5.63) higher probability to achieve a positive culture. The median time to diagnosis of NTM lung disease was 32 (interquartile range: 26-42) days. The results of multivariable analysis showed that patients with symptom of expectoration (aOR=0.48, 95%CI 0.29-0.80) needed a shorter diagnosis time in comparison with patients without expectoration. With Mycobacterium Avium-Intracellulare Complex as a reference, lung disease caused by Mycobacterium abscessus needed shorter diagnosis time (aOR=0.43, 95%CI 0.21-0.88), whereas those caused by rare NTM species were observed to require a longer diagnosis time (aOR=8.31, 95%CI 1.01-68.6). Conclusion: The main pathogen causing NTM lung disease in Shanghai was Mycobacterium Avium-Intracellulare Complex. Sex, clinical symptoms and bronchiectasis had an impact on the positive rate of mycobacterial culture. The majority of patients in study hospital were timely diagnosed. Clinical symptoms and NTM species were associated with the bacteriological diagnosis time of NTM lung disease.

Abstract
Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria play a key role in increasing plant growth as potential suppliers of soluble phosphorus and have great potential for the remediation of heavy metal-polluted soils. However, the soil and microbiological mechanisms by which phosphate-solubilizing bacteria prevent heavy metal absorption in radish have not been adequately studied. Here, the mechanisms of phosphorus solubilization, Cd and Pb immobilization, and the inhibition of heavy metal absorption by phosphate-solubilizing bacteria were studied in radish through solution adsorption and pot experiments. Two phosphate-solubilizing bacteria with high Cd and Pb removal rates (46.9-97.12 %), Klebsiella sp. M2 and Kluyvera sp. M8, were isolated. The soluble phosphorus content released by strains M2 and M8 was 265-277 mg L-1, achieved by secreting oxalic acid, ascorbic acid, citric acid, and succinic acid in an inorganic phosphorus medium containing 3 mg L-1 Cd and 5 mg L-1 Pb. Furthermore, these two functional strains induced the formation of Pb2(PO4)2, Cd(PO3)2, Fe2Pb3(PO4)2, CdS, and PbS precipitates that immobilized Cd and Pb in the solution. In general, strains M2 and M8 inhibited the absorption of Cd and Pb by radish by the following mechanisms: i) bacterial cell wall adsorption, ii) induction of Pb2(PO4)2, Cd(PO3)2, Fe2Pb3(PO4)2, CdS, and PbS precipitation in the solution/soil, iii) increases in the Ca2P and FeP contents in the radish rhizosphere, and iv) the promotion of bacterial community enrichment toward phosphorus-solubilizing and plant growth-promoting properties (Ramlibacter, Enterobacter, Bacillus, Gemmatimonas, and Lysinibacillusin) in the radish rhizosphere. These results provide bacterial resources and technical approaches to heavy metal pollution amelioration and efficient phosphorus fertilizer use in farmland.

Abstract
In this study, we detected 12 duck and 11 goose flocks that were positive for duck hepatitis B virus (DHBV) using polymerase chain reaction and isolated 23 strains between 2020 and 2022 in China. The complete genomes of goose strains E200801 and E210501 shared the highest identity (99.9%), whereas those of strains Y220217 and E210526 shared the lowest identity (91.39%). The phylogenetic tree constructed based on the genome sequences of these strains and reference strains was classified into three major clusters: the Chinese branch DHBV-I, the Chinese branch DHBV-II, and the Western branch DHBV-III. Furthermore, the duck-origin strain Y200122 was clustered into a separate branch and was predicted to be a recombinant strain derived from DHBV-M32990 (belonging to the Chinese branch DHBV-I) and Y220201 (belonging to the Chinese branch DHBV-II). Additionally, preS protein analysis of the 23 DHBV strains revealed extensive mutation sites, almost half of which were of duck origin. All goose-origin DHBV contained the mutation site G133E, which is related to increased viral pathogenicity. These data are expected to promote further research on the epidemiology and evolution of DHBV. Continuing DHBV surveillance in poultry will enhance the understanding of the evolution of HBV.

Abstract
New emerging diseases, including 'Candidatus Mycoplasma haemobos' ('Ca. M. haemobos') and HoBi-like pestivirus in central China has been a huge challenge for ruminant production. From July to September 2022, an abortion outbreak affected 14 goat farms and 11 cattle farms in this area. To investigate whether the two pathogens are associated with the disease, samples were collected: Group 1 included 55 goat blood samples with foetal tissue samples and ticks on the skin; Group 2 included nine healthy goat blood samples; Group 3 included 36 cow blood samples with foetal tissue samples and ticks on the skin; and Group 4 included seven healthy cow blood samples. Then, these samples were analysed by serology, PCR, sequence analysis, and identification. A total of 339 Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus and 61 Haemaphysalis longicornis ticks were identified in Group 1 and Group 3. By molecular detection, 32 'Ca. M. haemobos'-positive amplicons, and 27 HoBi-like pestivirus-positive amplicons were amplified from goats in Group 1; meanwhile, 20 'Ca. M. haemobos'-positive amplicons, and 18 HoBi-like pestivirus-positive amplicons were amplified from foetuses. Statistical significance (P = 0.002) and association (OR=7.556) between the 'Ca. M. haemobos' PCR results of foetus and goat samples were observed, and statistical significance (P = 0.017) and association (OR=4.271) between the HoBi-like pestivirus PCR results of foetus and goat samples were observed. These significances and associations were also observed in Group 3. In addition, coinfections were detected in Group 1 and Group 3. 'Ca. M. haemobos' was detected in both tick species. Further serological results revealed that the frequency of HoBi-like pestivirus was 20.0 % (11/55) in Group 1 % and 30.6 % (11/36) in Group 3 in central China. No ticks, pathogens, or neutralizing antibodies were observed in Group 2 or Group 4. This is the first molecular evidence of 'Ca. M. haemobos' and HoBi-like pestivirus natural coinfections in goats and cows with abortion in China. HoBi-like pestivirus and 'Ca. M. haemobos' can be transferred from goats/cows to their foetuses.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of recombinant human B-type natriuretic peptide (rhBNP) on improving ventricular function in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). PATIENTS AND METHODS In this retrospective study, 96 patients with STEMI admitted to Cangzhou Central Hospital from June 2017 to June 2019 were recruited and randomized to either a control group or an experimental group, with 48 patients in each group. Patients in both groups were given conventional pharmacological therapy, and an emergency coronary intervention was performed within 12 hours. Patients in the experimental group received rhBNP intravenously postoperatively, whereas patients in the control group received an equal amount of 0.9% NaCl solution through an intravenous drip. Postoperative recovery indicators were compared between the two groups. RESULTS Patients treated with rhBNP showed better postoperative respiratory frequency, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, pleural effusion, acute left heart remodeling after surgery and central venous pressure at 1-3 days after surgery than those without (p<0.05). Early diastolic blood flow velocity/early diastolic motion velocity (E/Em) and wall-motion score indices (WMSI) of patients in the experimental group were markedly lower compared to the control group one week after surgery (p<0.05). Patients receiving rhBNP had better left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and WMSI six months after surgery and higher left ventricular end diastolic volume (LVEDV) and LVEF one week after surgery than the controls (p<0.05). Administration of rhBNP for patients with STMI provided a higher treatment safety by significantly reducing the incidence of left ventricular remodeling and complication than conventional medication (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Intervention with rhBNP in STEMI patients could effectively inhibit ventricular remodeling, alleviate symptoms, reduce adverse complications and improve ventricular function.

Abstract
Cachavirus (CachaV) infection was first reported in the USA in 2019. This virus has been previously detected in pet dogs and cats in China. In the present study, we retrospectively examined this virus in 413 dogs and 127 cats. Swab samples obtained from these animals were collected during 2015–2017. Notably, CachaV was detected in four samples from dogs with diarrhea but not in cats; however, the correlation between healthy dogs and those with enteritis was not statistically significant. Furthermore, we amplified early complete genomic sequences of the four strains detected in our study dogs (CHN1601, CHN1602, CHN1703, and CHN1704). Among these strains, the sequence identity of the NS1 protein and the seven previously reported strains in China were 97.44%–99.7%, whereas that of VP1 protein was 98.02%–99.6%. Interestingly, in the NS1 coding region, CHN1704 demonstrated 99.7% (highest) similarity with the CachaV strain NWT-W88 detected from a wolf and 64.5% similarity with the NS1 of a bat parvovirus (BtPV) strain. Conversely, in the VP1 coding region, CHN1703 demonstrated 99.7% (highest) similarity with the prototype CachaV strain IDEXX1 detected from dogs and 63.3% similarity with BtPV strain. For the phylogenetic analysis of NS1 and VP1, the four strains detected during 2016-2017 were merged with other Chinese and foreign CachaV strains to form the major branch. We believe that these results helped improve the understanding of how CachaV evolved and suggest that the virus has been circulating in China since at least March 2016.

Abstract
As a crucial source of mesenchymal stromal cells, CD51+/PDGFR-α+ human dental pulp stromal cells (hDPSCs) are promising seeding cells for regenerative medicine. Cellular senescence hinders the translational application of hDPSCs. However, it remains unclear whether chronological and replicative senescence results in distinct outcomes for hDPSCs. To investigate the influence of senescence on DPSCs, we used transgenic lineage tracking, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and various molecular experiments to depict the dynamic pattern of hDPSCs in mice and humans during chronological and replicative senescence. The data demonstrated that CD51+/PDGFR-α+ cells were decreased in chronological senescence. Impaired self-renewal and higher ossificatory differentiation were observed in chronologically senescent hDPSCs. Regarding replicative senescence, a decreased CD51+ but upregulated PDGFR-α+ population was observed in culture. Furthermore, weakened self-renewal and osteogenic differentiation were observed in replicatively senescent hDPSCs. In summary, CD51+/PDGFR-α+ hDPSCs decrease in chronologically aged pulp, with self-renewal that is impaired without impaired osteogenic differentiation. However, replicative senescence has a different impact: self-renewal and ossific differentiation are impaired and CD51 expression is reduced, but PDGFR-α expression remains. These findings demonstrate the different outcomes of chronological and replicative senescence in CD51+/PDGFR-α+ hDPSCs. Furthermore, we revealed that impaired self-renewal is the core dysfunction for both types of cellular aging and that osteogenic differentiation capability differs between them. This study provides insights into the influence of chronological and replicative senescence on the characteristics and capabilities of hDPSCs. These advances provide fundamental knowledge to alleviate cellular aging of CD51+/PDGFR-α+ hDPSCs and promote their translational applications.

Abstract
Owing to its high similarity to human hepatitis B virus (HBV), duck HBV (DHBV) is often used as an essential model for HBV research. Although intergenotypic recombination of HBV is common, it remains unclear whether the intergenotypic recombination of human HBV is exactly the same as that of DHBV. In this study, 119 serum samples of duck and goose were collected from 51 farms (29 duck and 22 goose farms) in the central and eastern regions of China. A total of 22 strains isolated from the 22 DHBV positive flock were sequenced. Genome sequence alignment revealed that the duck- and goose-origin strains shared the highest and lowest similarities (99.7 and 90.52%, respectively). The complete genomes of these DHBV and 31 reference strains were analyzed using phylogenetic methods and classified into 3 clusters, which corresponded to the previously identified DHBV-I, DHBV-II, and DHBV-III branches. Recombination analyses of the 53 DHBV genomes indicated 2 major intergenotypic recombination events with high confidence values. These recombination events occurred between the genotypes of the Chinese isolates Y180813HB (Chinese branch [DHBV-Ⅰ]) and E170101AH (Chinese branch [DHBV-Ⅱ]) and the Western isolate DHBV-XY (Western branch [DHBV-Ⅲ]), resulting in the emergence of 2 Chinese recombinant isolates Y190303HN and Y170101HB. In addition, 40% (2/5) goose-origin and 58.8% (10/17) duck-origin DHBV in this study harbored the mutation site of G133E in preS, which promote the pathogenicity of DHBV. This is the first study to report on the genome analysis and recombination characterization of DHBV isolated from Chinese geese. Further, continuous investigation and molecular identification of DHBV should be conducted to attract researchers' attention.

Abstract
Nervous necrosis virus (NNV) could infect more than 200 fish species worldwide, with almost 100% mortality in affected larvae and juvenile fish. Among different genotypes of NNV, the red-grouper nervous necrosis virus (RGNNV) genotype is the most widely reported with the highest number of susceptible species. Interferon (IFN) is a crucial antiviral cytokine and RGNNV needs to develop some efficient strategies to resist host IFN-stimulated antiviral immune. Although considerable researches on RGNNV, whether RGNNV B1 protein participates in regulating the host's IFN response remains unknown. Here, we reported that B1 protein acted as a transcript inhibition factor to suppress fish IFN production. We firstly found that ectopic expression of B1 protein significantly decreased IFN and IFN-stimulated genes (ISGs) mRNA levels and IFNφ1 promoter activity induced by polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid [poly (I:C)]. Further studies showed that B1 protein inhibited the IFNφ1 promoter activity stimulated by the key RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) factors, including MDA5, MAVS, TBK1, IRF3, and IRF7 and decreased their protein levels. Moreover, B1 protein significantly inhibited the activity of constitutively active cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter, which suggested that B1 protein was a transcription inhibitor. Western blot indicated that B1 protein decreased the Ser5 phosphorylation of RNA polymerase II (RNAP II) C-terminal domain (CTD). Together, our data demonstrated that RGNNV B1 protein was a host transcript antagonist, which intervened RNAP II Ser5-phosphorylation, inhibiting host IFN response and facilitating RGNNV replication.

Abstract
A total of 36 patients with suspected peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter dysfunction in the First Hospital of China Medical University from June 2020 to August 2022 were included, and five patients with normal PD catheter were also included as the control group. There were 22 males and 19 females, and aged (45±21) years. The volume of rapid-phase drainage in the control and dysfunction groups was (2 086±65) and (1 181±637) ml, and the total drainage time was (15.2±1.3) and (38.3±14.9) min, respectively. The volume of rapid-phase drainage in the dysfunction group was reduced and the total drainage time was longer than that in the control group (both P<0.05). Compared with group with PD catheter migration, the duration of new bag instillation was prolonged, the drainage volume in the rapid-phase was reduced, the total drainage duration was prolonged, and the ultrafiltration volume was decreased in the group with PD catheter obstruction (all P<0.05). The rapid exchange test can provide an early preliminary diagnosis of PD catheter dysfunction and identify the type of catheter dysfunction.

Abstract
Objective: To construct and analyze the functional network changes of hemi-brain in patients with brain tumor before and after anesthesia by using resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI). Methods: A total of 18 right-handed patients were prospectively included (6 males and 12 females). The patients underwent glioma resection in Peking University International Hospital from December 2018 to December 2021, and age ranged from 20 to 65 (45.1±13.6) years, with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade of Ⅰ-Ⅱ. MRI scans were performed while the patient was awake and at the depth of surgical anesthesia. The functional network of healthy lateral brain was constructed and analyzed by means of graph theory, and its global and local topological properties were calculated. Global topology attributes included global efficiency (Eg), local efficiency (Eloc), clustering parameters (Cp), length parameter of shortest path (Lp), and small world (SW). Topology attributes of nodes included node degree (ND), node efficiency (NE) and between centrality (BC). The global and nodal topological properties of the hemi-brain network were compared between patients with different hemispherical space occupying under wakefulness and anesthesia. Results: At the awake state, Eloc and Cp in the global topological attributes of hemi-brain network were 0.259±0.007 and 0.197±0.010, respectively, and decreased to 0.242±0.013 and 0.177±0.021, respectively after anesthesia, with statistically significant differences (all P<0.01). The topological attributes of the nodes in hemi-side brain showed that ND, NE and BC were increased in the default mode network-related brain regions, while NE and BC were decreased in the limbic system and subcortical structures. Eloc and Cp were 0.258±0.008 and 0.198±0.008 respectively in the patients with left hemisphere space occupying, and decreased to 0.241±0.011 and 0.177±0.015 respectively after anesthesia, with statistically significant differences (all P<0.01). However, only Eloc decreased in patients with right hemisphere space occupying after anesthesia, and Eloc was 0.260±0.006 and 0.243±0.016 respectively when awake and after anesthesia, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The topological attributes of nodes in patients with space occupying in different cerebral hemispheres showed bidirectional changes after anesthesia, and patients with space occupying in the left cerebral hemisphere were more likely to be widely affected after anesthesia. The effects of anesthetic drugs may show hemispheric laterality. If the tumor was in the dominant hemisphere, the compensatory function of the dominant side was more likely to be damaged. Conclusions: During anesthesia-induced loss of consciousness in patients with brain tumors, both the ability to integrate information and the functional connections between local regions are weakened, and some brain regions have functional connection reorganization. The changes of brain network after anesthesia are bidirectional regulation.

Abstract
Streptococcus agalactiae infections may lead to clinical or subclinical mastitis in dairy animals when it invades the mammary gland. In this study, 51 S. agalactiae strains were isolated from 305 milk samples that were collected from goats with mastitis in 13 provinces of China. The antimicrobial resistance of S. agalactiae was determined by disk diffusion methods against 18 antibiotics from six classes. In addition, multilocus sequence typing (MLST), and the presence of resistance and virulence genes was determined by PCR analysis. Seven sequence types in five clonal complexes were identified according to MLST; CC103 and CC67 strains were predominant, with rates of 45.1% and 39.2%, respectively. All isolates (100%) were multiresistant to three or more antimicrobial agents. S. agalactiae isolates had a 100% resistance rate to penicillin, oxacillin, and amoxicillin, followed by doxycycline (82.4%), tetracycline (76.5%), and amikacin (74.5%). The lowest resistance was observed for ciprofloxacin (29.4%), which varied in five different regions. The detection rates of six classes of antimicrobial-related genes were calculated as follows: 33 (64.7%) for β-lactam-related resistance gene, 12 (23.5%) for tetracyclines, 11 (21.6%) for quinolone-related resistance genes, 10 (19.6%) for aminoglycosides, 7 (13.7%) for macrolides (ermA, ermB, and mefA), and 3 (5.9%) for lincosamide (lnu(B)). Regarding virulence genes, profile 1 (bca cfb-cspA-cylE-hylB-bibA-pavA-fbsA-fbsB) was the most prevalent, with a detection rate of 54.9%. This work provides a primary source related to the molecular epidemiology of S. agalactiae in dairy goat herds in China and will aid in the clinical treatment, prevention, and control of mastitis.

Abstract
Group A porcine rotavirus (PoRVA) is an important pathogen of acute enteritis in piglets, which has caused severe economic losses in the pig industry worldwide. A convenient, sensitive and specific diagnosis method is an urgent requirement for the surveillance of the PoRVA circulating in clinical samples. In this study, a novel and convenient droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) for the detection of PoRVA was developed using the conserved region of the VP6 gene. The detection limit of ddPCR was 1.81 ± 0.14 copies/rection, ~10 times greater sensitivity than TaqMan real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). Both ddPCR and qPCR assays exhibited good linearity and repeatability, and the established ddPCR method was highly specific for PoRVA. The results of clinical sample testing showed that the positivity rate of ddPCR (5.6%) was higher than that of qPCR (4.4%). Therefore, the newly developed ddPCR assay could be widely used in clinical diagnosis of PoRVA infections.

Abstract
Chicken chaphamaparvovirus (CkChpV) is a novel parvovirus species that belongs to the Chaphamaparvovirus genus and is frequently detected in different vertebrates exhibiting diarrhea symptoms. In this study, screening tests were performed on samples from 478 chickens, including 357 with diarrhea and 121 healthy, collected from 25 farms in China to investigate CkChpV infection in China. CkChpV, avian nephritis virus, rotavirus, chicken parvovirus, Newcastle disease virus, infectious bronchitis virus, chicken proventricular necrosis virus, and chicken circovirus were all detected in the samples at a positivity rate of 32%, 9%, 6%, 2%, 2%, 1%, 0%, and 0%, respectively. Statistical analyses suggested a correlation between the infection by the virus and diarrhea (P < 0.05). The genome of 9 strains from the CkChpV-positive samples, whose length was 4,432 nucleotides, have been completely sequenced. The strains shared 97.2 to 98.7% genomic similarity, 98.1 to 99.1%, and 98.2 to 99.2% amino acid similarity, respectively, for NS1 and VP1 compared with CkChpV strain RS/BR/15/2S in GenBank. The genetic relationship between these strains and CkChpV was established through phylogenetic analysis. These findings indicated the infection existence of CkChpV in China, which enriches our understanding of the diversity of the chaphamaparvoviruses and its host spectrum.

Abstract
Signal transducer and activator of transcription 2 (STAT2) is an important molecule involved in the type I interferon signaling pathway. To better understand the functions of STAT2 in fish immune response, a STAT2 gene from orange-spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides) (EcSTAT2) was cloned and characterized in this study. EcSTAT2 encoded a 802-amino acid peptide which shared 99.5% and 91.5% identity with giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) and leopard coral grouper (Plectropomus leopardus), respectively. Amino acid alignment analysis showed that EcSTAT2 contained five conserved domains, including N-terminal protein interaction domain, coiled coil domain (CCD), DNA binding domain (DBD), Src-homology 2 (SH2) domain, and C-terminal transactivation domain (TAD). Phylogenetic analysis indicated that EcSTAT2 clustered into fish STAT2 group and showed the nearest relationship to giant grouper STAT2. In healthy grouper, EcSTAT2 was distributed in all tissues tested, and the expression of EcSTAT2 was predominantly detected in spleen, kidney and gill. In vitro, EcSTAT2 expression was significantly increased in response to polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid [poly (I:C)] stimulation and red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus (RGNNV) infection. Subcellular localization showed that EcSTAT2 was located in the cytoplasm in a punctate manner. EcSTAT2 overexpression significantly inhibited RGNNV replication, as evidenced by the decreased severity of cytopathic effect (CPE) and the reduced expression levels of viral genes and protein. Consistently, knockdown of EcSTAT2 using small interfering RNA (siRNA) promoted RGNNV replication. Furthermore, EcSTAT2 overexpression increased both interferon (IFN) and interferon stimulated genes (ISGs) expression. In addition, EcSTAT2 knockdown decreased the transcription levels of IFN and ISGs. Together, our data demonstrated that EcSTAT2 exerted antiviral activity against RGNNV through up-regulation of host interferon response.

Abstract
The Jaynes-Cummings-Hubbard (JCH) model is a fundamental many-body model for light-matter interaction. As a leading platform for quantum simulation, the trapped ion system has realized the JCH model for two to three ions. Here, we report the quantum simulation of the JCH model using up to 32 ions. We verify the simulation results even for large ion numbers by engineering low excitations and thus low effective dimensions; then we extend to 32 excitations for an effective dimension of 2^{77}, which is difficult for classical computers. By regarding the phonon modes as baths, we explore Markovian or non-Markovian spin dynamics in different parameter regimes of the JCH model, similar to quantum emitters in a structured photonic environment. We further examine the dependence of the non-Markovian dynamics on the effective Hilbert space dimension. Our Letter demonstrates the trapped ion system as a powerful quantum simulator for many-body physics and open quantum systems.

Abstract
The M14 family metal carboxypeptidase genes play an important role in digestion and pathogenic infections in the gut of insects. However, the roles of these genes in Antheraea pernyi (Guérin-Méneville, 1855) remain to be analyzed. In the present study, we cloned a highly expressed M14 metal carboxypeptidase gene (ApMCP1) found in the gut and discovered that it contained a 1,194 bp open reading frame encoding a 397-amino acid protein with a predicted molecular weight of 45 kDa. Furthermore, 14 members of the M14 family metal carboxypeptidases (ApMCP1-ApMCP14) were identified in the A. pernyi genome, with typical Zn_pept domains and two Zn-anchoring motifs, and were further classified into M14A, M14B, and M14D subfamilies. Expression analysis indicated that ApMCP1 and ApMCP9 were mainly expressed in the gut. Additionally, we observed that ApMCP1 and ApMCP9 displayed opposite expression patterns after starvation, highlighting their functional divergence during digestion. Following natural infection with baculovirus NPV, their expression was significantly upregulated in the gut of A. pernyi. Our results suggest that the M14 family metal carboxypeptidase genes are conservatively digestive enzymes and evolutionarily involved in exogenous pathogenic infections.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Pembrolizumab demonstrated a clinically meaningful objective response rate in patients with previously treated, advanced MSI-H/dMMR endometrial cancer in the multicohort phase 2 KEYNOTE-158 study (ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT02628067). We present health-related quality of life (HRQoL) results for these patients. METHODS This analysis included patients from cohorts D (endometrial cancer with any MSI status) and K (any MSI-H/dMMR solid tumor except colorectal) who had previously treated, advanced MSI-H/dMMR endometrial cancer. Patients received pembrolizumab 200 mg Q3W for 35 cycles. EORTC QLQ-C30 and EQ-5D-3L questionnaires were administered at baseline, at regular intervals during treatment, and 30 days after treatment discontinuation. Pre-specified exploratory analyses included changes from baseline to week 9 in QLQ-C30 global health status (GHS)/QoL and EQ-5D-3L visual analog scale (VAS) score for all patients and by best overall response. RESULTS 84 of 90 enrolled patients completed ≥1 HRQoL questionnaire and were included in the analysis. QLQ-C30 and EQ-5D-3L compliance rates were 90% and 94%, respectively, at baseline, and 92% and 93% at week 9. Mean (95% CI) QLQ-C30 GHS/QoL scores improved from baseline to week 9 by 6.08 (0.71-11.46) points in the overall population, with greater improvement in patients who achieved complete or partial response (11.67 [5.33-18.00]-point increase). Mean (95% CI) EQ-5D-3L VAS scores improved by 6.00 (2.25-9.75) points in the overall population and 9.11 (5.24-12.98) points in patients with CR/PR. CONCLUSIONS Pembrolizumab maintained or improved HRQoL in patients with previously treated, advanced MSI-H/dMMR endometrial cancer, further supporting efficacy and safety results from KEYNOTE-158 and pembrolizumab use in this setting.

Abstract
Iron oxides and microorganisms are important soil components that profoundly affect the transformation and bioavailability of heavy metals in soils. Here, batch and pot experiments were conducted to investigate the immobilization mechanisms of Cd by Cd-loving Bacillus sp. N3 and ferrihydrite (Fh) as well as their impacts on Cd uptake by wheat and bacterial community composition in wheat rhizospheric soil. The results showed that the combination of strain N3 with Fh could immobilize more Cd compared to strain N3 and Fh, respectively. Furthermore, strain N3 facilitated Cd retention on Fh, which synergistically reduced the concentration of DTPA extracted Cd in the soil and decreased Cd content (57.1%) in wheat grains. Moreover, inoculation with strain N3 increased the complexity of the co-occurrence network of the bacterial community in rhizospheric soil, and the abundance of beneficial bacteria with multipel functions including heavy metal immobilization, dissimilatory iron reduction, and plant growth promotion. Overall, this study demonstrated the enrichment of strain N3 and iron oxides, together with increased soil pH, synergistically immobilized soil Cd, which strongly suggested inoculation with Cd-loving strains could be a promising approach to immobilize Cd and reduce wheat uptake of Cd, particular for soils rich in iron oxides.
