Abstract
Objective This study aimed to investigate the international scientific output regarding the relationship between COVID-19 and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) through a bibliometric analysis and explore research hotspots in this field. Methods We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for publications and used different types of software, such as R, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer, to analyze and visualize the data. Results A total of 10,055 publications were retrieved as of the 13 December 2022, based on the inclusion criteria after screening. The USA and China lead in the quantity and quality of publications in this field. Based on Bradford's law, 63 journals were considered core journals in the field. Co-cited references and keywords analysis indicated that researchers paid particular attention to cardiovascular comorbidities, outcomes, and COVID-19 regenerative medicine. In summary, with increasing COVID-19 research related to CVD, more attention might be drawn to the relationship between these two diseases. Conclusion The hotspots in this field may continue to revolve around cardiovascular comorbidities, outcomes, and COVID-19 regenerative medicine. Owing to the different situations faced by different groups with COVID-19, further exploration of the related factors specific to each of these groups, e.g., history or no history of heart failure, is needed, with a view to providing a reference for intervention measures in COVID-19 research.

Abstract
Breast cancer is a pathology suffered by millions of women worldwide, affecting the mental health, quality of life (QoL), physical functioning, cognitive functioning, and social and work life of surviving patients. Moreover, breast cancer is associated with weight gain, muscle atrophy, and weakness. Physical exercise appears to be an effective non-pharmacological treatment to improve short-term self-esteem, QoL, fatigue, and psychological factors such as depression, anxiety, happiness, and body image. The practice of physical activity is also associated with a reduction in the side effects of treatment. This bibliometric analysis analyzed the trend followed by publications on breast cancer and physical activity. The Web of Science database was used, and bibliometric laws were applied to identify the most prolific authors, the journals most involved in the field, and the countries, institutions, and keywords most used by the authors. Breast cancer and physical activity have an exponential trend in the number of publications, with Psycho-Oncology being the journal with the highest number of publications.

Abstract
Background With the increasing interest of academics in the application of artificial intelligence to sepsis, thousands of papers on this field had been published in the past few decades. It is difficult for researchers to understand the themes and latest research frontiers in this field from a multi-dimensional perspective. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relevant literature in the application of artificial intelligence to sepsis through bibliometrics software, so as to better understand the development status, study the core hotspots and future development trends of this field. Methods We collected relevant publications in the application of artificial intelligence to sepsis from the Web of Science Core Collection in 2000 to 2021. The type of publication was limited to articles and reviews, and language was limited to English. Research cooperation network, journals, cited references, keywords in this field were visually analyzed by using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and COOC software. Results A total of 8,481 publications in the application of artificial intelligence to sepsis between 2000 and 2021 were included, involving 8,132 articles and 349 reviews. Over the past 22 years, the annual number of publications had gradually increased exponentially. The USA was the most productive country, followed by China. Harvard University, Schuetz, Philipp, and Intensive Care Medicine were the most productive institution, author, and journal, respectively. Vincent, Jl and Critical Care Medicine were the most cited author and cited journal, respectively. Several conclusions can be drawn from the analysis of the cited references, including the following: screening and identification of sepsis biomarkers, treatment and related complications of sepsis, and precise treatment of sepsis. Moreover, there were a spike in searches relating to machine learning, antibiotic resistance and accuracy based on burst detection analysis. Conclusion This study conducted a comprehensive and objective analysis of the publications on the application of artificial intelligence in sepsis. It can be predicted that precise treatment of sepsis through machine learning technology is still research hotspot in this field.

Abstract
Background In recent years, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) has gained popularity in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Although several studies have been published, no bibliometric analysis have been conducted on this topic. Objectives To understand the development status and future trends in the application of HAIC, we conducted bibliometric analysis to examine the cooperation and influence among countries, institutions, authors, and journals. Methods All relevant articles and reviews on the use of HAIC in HCC treatment were retrieved from the Web of Science database. A bibliometric analysis of countries, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords related to this field was performed using R and VOSviewer software. The main aspects analyzed were the research status and key fields of HAIC in HCC treatment. Results A total of 1026 articles published in 292 journals by 4937 authors from 959 institutions between 1974 and 2021 were retrieved. A rapid increase in articles published after 1990 was observed, which reached the peak in 2021. Japan had the most publications and citations. Yonsei University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Hiroshima University were the three leading institutions in research on this topic. Kwang-Hyub Han and Masatoshi Kudo have the greatest academic influence in this field. Most publications were made in the Hepato-Gastroenterology, whereas cancer had the most citations. The main aspects of HAIC treatment of HCC include HAIC and TACE, chemotherapy drug selection, HAIC and targeted therapy and immunotherapy, HAIC and surgery, and hepatotoxicity. Keywords such as FOLFOX, lenvatinib, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy are hot words in this field in recent years. Conclusion The research on the use of HAIC in the treatment of HCC has been on the rise. Currently, HAIC combined with targeted therapy or immunotherapy has attracted significant attention.

Abstract
Background Visceral pain is a complex and heterogeneous disorder that is considered more prominent compared to somatic pain, due to its multiple and complex causes and accompanying emotional and mood disorders. Research has become increasingly extensive over the years, but a bibliometric analysis of this field is lacking. The aim of this study was to analyze global research trends in visceral pain over the past 40 years through visual analysis. Methods We conducted a comprehensive search of the literature from January 1981 to December 2021 using the Web of Science core database. The medical subject term 'visceral pain' was searched. We used CiteSpace and VOSviewer for bibliometric analysis and network visualization, including top-ranked authors, keywords, research collaborations, and literature co-occurrence network analysis. Results A total of 5,047 articles were included in the analysis. The number of articles on visceral pain has continued to grow steadily over the past 40 years. The United States (1,716 articles), University of California (159 articles), and Neurogastroenterology and Motility (276 articles) were the country, institution, and journal with the most publications, respectively. Keyword analysis showed that inflammation, visceral hypersensitivity, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), anxiety, and quality of life were the research trends and priorities in this research field. Conclusion Visceral pain-related research has received increasing attention in recent decades. However, there are still many unresolved issues in the field of visceral pain, such as the specific molecular mechanisms and clinical treatments between visceral pain and inflammation, IBD, IBS, anxiety, and quality of life, which may require further exploration based on modern scientific and technological means and more basic research, especially for the therapeutic targets of visceral pain, which may become a hot spot for future research and provide guidance for the treatment of clinical diseases related to visceral pain.

Abstract
Background IL-33 has been studied widely but its comprehensive and systematic bibliometric analysis is yet available. The present study is to summarize the research progress of IL-33 through bibliometric analysis. Methods The publications related to IL-33 were identified and selected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on 7 December 2022. The downloaded data was analyzed with bibliometric package in R software. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to conduct IL-33 bibliometric and knowledge mapping analysis. Results From 1 January 2004 to 7 December 2022, 4711 articles on IL-33 research published in 1009 academic journals by 24652 authors in 483 institutions from 89 countries were identified. The number of articles had grown steadily over this period. The United States of America(USA) and China are the major contributors in the field of research while University of Tokyo and University of Glasgow are the most active institutions. The most prolific journal is Frontiers in Immunology, while the Journal of Immunity is the top 1 co-cited journal. Andrew N. J. Mckenzie published the most significant number of articles and Jochen Schmitz was co-cited most. The major fields of these publications are immunology, cell biology, and biochemistry & molecular biology. After analysis, the high-frequency keywords of IL-33 research related to molecular biology (sST2, IL-1), immunological effects (type 2 immunity, Th2 cells), and diseases (asthma, cancer, cardiovascular diseases). Among these, the involvement of IL-33 in the regulation of type 2 inflammation has strong research potential and is a current research hotspot. Conclusion The present study quantifies and identifies the current research status and trends of IL-33 using bibliometric and knowledge mapping analysis. This study may offer the direction of IL-33-related research for scholars.

Abstract
Postural control impairment is one of the primary motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease, leading to an increased risk of falling. Several studies have been conducted on postural control disorders in Parkinson's disease patients, but no relevant bibliometric analysis has been found. In this paper, the Web of Science Core Collection database was searched for 1,295 relevant papers on postural control in Parkinson's disease patients from December 2011 to December 2021. Based on the Citespace knowledge graph, these relevant papers over the last decade were analyzed from the perspectives of annual publication volume, countries and institutes cooperation, authors cooperation, dual-map overlay of journals, co-citation literature, and keywords. The purpose of this study was to explore the current research status, research hotspots, and frontiers in this field, and to provide a reference for further promoting the research on postural control in Parkinson's disease patients.

Abstract
Background: Cancer, also known as a malignant tumor, is caused by the activation of oncogenes, which leads to the uncontrolled proliferation of cells that results in swelling. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer is one of the main causes of death worldwide. The main variables limiting the efficacy of anti-tumor treatments are side effects and drug resistance. The search for natural, safe, low toxicity, and efficient chemical compounds in tumor research is essential. Berberine is a pentacyclic isoquinoline quaternary ammonium alkaloid isolated from Berberis and Coptis that has long been used in clinical settings. Studies in recent years have reported the use of berberine in cancer treatment. In this study, we performed a bibliometric analysis of berberine- and tumor-related research. Materials and methods: Relevant articles from January 1, 2002, to December 31, 2021, were identified from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) of Clarivate Analytics. Microsoft Excel, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and an online platform were used for the literary metrology analysis. Results: A total of 1368 publications had unique characteristics. Publications from China were the most common (783 articles), and Y. B. Feng (from China) was the most productive author, with the highest total citations. China Medical University (Taiwan) and Sun Yat-sen University (China) were the two organizations with the largest numbers of publications (36 each). Frontiers in Pharmacology was the most commonly occurring journal (29 articles). The present body of research is focused on the mechanism, molecular docking, and oxidative stress of berberine in tumors. Conclusion: Research on berberine and tumors was thoroughly reviewed using knowledge map and bibliometric methods. The results of this study reveal the dynamic evolution of berberine and tumor research and provide a basis for strategic planning in cancer research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A growing number of studies has implicated oxidative stress in the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia. The aim of this study was to explore the field of schizophrenia and oxidative stress-related research from a bibliometric perspective. METHODS All relevant publications on schizophrenia and oxidative stress were obtained from Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database from its inception date to November 8, 2022. VOSviewer software was used to examine co-authorships and co-occurring keywords. R software was used to present the main characteristics of publications and cooperation frequency among countries. CiteSpace was used to investigate keywords with the strongest citation bursts. RESULTS A total of 3,510 publications on schizophrenia and oxidative stress were included. The United States had the largest number of publications (26.1%), and international collaborations. University of Melbourne was the most productive institution, while Schizophrenia Research was the most productive journal in this field. Apart from "schizophrenia" and "oxidative stress", the terms "prefrontal cortex", "brain" and "nitric oxide" were among the most frequently used keywords. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, research on the association between oxidative stress and schizophrenia has received growing attention in the academic literature that is expected to continue its upward trajectory during the next two decades. Existing research suggests there has been a transition from research focused on pathways to animal models, and subsequently to clinical applications. Intervention studies on oxidative stress and schizophrenia are likely to be an important focus of related work in the near future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) has a negative effect on activities of daily living. OBJECTIVE Although a number of studies have been published on PSCI, no quantitative studies have yet been conducted. METHOD CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to quantitatively analyze PSCI to illustrate the research hotspots and trends in PSCI. All relevant publications were extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) of the Web of Science (WoS). RESULTS A total of 6536 articles were included in this study. From 349 in 2010 to 942 in 2020, the number of publications increased dramatically. The USA maintained the top position worldwide and provided a vital influence. Harvard University was considered the leader in research collaboration among all institutions. Stroke was the most popular journal in this sector and Vincent Mok published the most articles in this area. We analyzed the keywords and identified five research hotspot clusters. By summarizing the literature on PSCI, we considered the publication information regarding different countries, institutions, authors and journals. CONCLUSION The mechanism of PSCI is an active hotspot. Cerebral vascular disease, especially white matter lesions, also received more attention.

Abstract
Synthetic lethality (SL) is a lethal phenomenon with an important role in cancer treatment. This study was conducted to analyze the hotspots and frontiers in SL research. The Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) was used to identify the 100 top-cited articles related to SL research. Additionally, wee1 inhibitors combined with erastin were used to determine the effectiveness of SL in vitro and in vivo. Relevant articles were published mainly from 2009 to 2021, reaching a peak in 2020; articles published in 2010 were most frequently cited among the 100-top cited papers. Most studies (54%) were performed in the United States. Articles in Nature Chemical Biology were cited more frequently than articles in other journals, whereas Nature published the largest number of reports on SL. Among the 88 corresponding authors, CJ Lord was the most productive. Overlay visualization of keyword analysis revealed that the hotspots in SL research were PARP inhibitors, BRCA mutations, DNA damage repair, and carcinogenesis. CRISPR, ferroptosis, wee1, double-strand break (dsb) repair, myc, immunotherapy, and replication stress are emerging topics in SL research, whereas ovarian cancer, prostate stress, acute myeloid leukemia, and other topics have been used as disease models in recent years. The application and therapeutic strategy of SL in cancer is an emerging trend. Significantly, experiments verified that the wee1 inhibitor AZD1775 and ferroptosis activator erastin have synergistic effects on ovarian cancer in vitro and in vivo. Combining bibliometric analysis with experimental verification is a useful approach for SL research.

Abstract
This study aimed to identify author, country, institutional, and journal collaborations and assess their impact, along with knowledge base, as well as identify existing trends, and uncover emerging topics related to matrix metalloproteinase and pancreatic-cancer research. A total of 1474 Articles and reviews were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection and analyzed by Citespace and Vosviewer. CANCER RESEARCH, CLINICAL CANCER RESEARCH, and FRONTIERS IN IMMUNOLOGY are the most influential journals. The three main aspects of research in matrix metalloproteinases-pancreatic cancer-related fields included the pathogenesis mechanism of pancreatic cancer, how matrix metalloproteinases affect the metastasis of pancreatic cancer, and what role matrix metalloproteinases play in pancreatic cancer treatment. Tumor microenvironment, pancreatic stellate cells, drug resistance, and immune cells have recently emerged as research hot spots. In the future, exploring how immune cells affect matrix metalloproteinases and reshape the tumor microenvironment may be the key to curing pancreatic cancer. This study thus offers a comprehensive overview of the matrix metalloproteinases-pancreatic cancer-related field using bibliometrics and visual methods, providing a valuable reference for researchers interested in matrix metalloproteinases-pancreatic cancer.

Abstract
Background As a processing method of RNA precursors, alternative splicing (AS) is critical to normal cellular activities. Aberrant AS events are associated with cancer development and can be promising targets to treat cancer. However, no detailed and unbiased study describes the current state of AS of cancer research. We aim to measure and recognize the current state and trends of AS cancer research in this study. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection was used to acquire the articles. Utilizing three bibliometric tools (CiteSpace, VOSviewer, R-bibliometrix), we were able to measure and recognize the influence and collaboration data of individual articles, journals, and co-citations. Analysis of co-occurrence and burst information helped us identify the trending research areas related to AS of cancer. Results From 2012 to 2021, the total number of papers on AS of cancer published in 766 academic journals was 3,507, authored by 20,406 researchers in 405 institutions from 80 countries/regions. Research involving AS of cancer genes was primarily conducted in the United States and China; simultaneously, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fudan University, and National Cancer Institute were the institutions with strong research capabilities. Scorilas Andreas is the scholar with the most publications, while the most co-citations were generated by Wang, Eric T. Plos One published the most papers on AS of cancer, while J Biol Chem was the most co-cited academic journal in this field. The results of keyword co-occurrence analysis can be divided into three types: molecular (P53, CD44, androgen receptor, srsf3, esrp1), pathological process (apoptosis, EMT, metastasis, angiogenesis, proliferation), and disease (breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric cancer). Conclusion Research on AS of cancer has been increasing in intensity over the past decade. Current AS of cancer studies focused on the hallmarks of AS in cancer and AS signatures including diagnostic and therapeutic targets. Among them, the current trends are splicing factors regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition and other hallmarks, aberrant splicing events in tumors, and further mechanisms. These might give researchers interested in this field a forward-looking perspective and inform further research.

Abstract
Introduction To analyze the current state, hotspots, and cutting-edge trends of genomics research on the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) from 2019 to the present (March 2022). Methods Statistical and visual analysis of COVID-19 genomics results published in the 2019-2022 Web of Science Core Collection Database (WOSCC) was performed using CiteSpace software, including data on countries, institutions, authors, journals, co-citations, keywords, etc. Results A total of 9133 English literature were included. The number of publications has significantly increased in 2021, and it is expected that this upward trend will last into the future. The research hotspots of COVID-19 revolve around quarantine, biological management, angiotensin-converting enzyme-2, RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, etc. Research frontiers and trends focus on molecular docking, messenger RNA, functional receptor, etc. Conclusion The last two years have seen a significant increase in research interest in the field of novel coronavirus pneumonia genomics.

Abstract
Home-based cardiac rehabilitation has been a major area in cardiac rehabilitation research for a long time. However, there are few systematic studies in this field using bibliometric analysis. We collected articles and reviews for home-based cardiac rehabilitation from the Web of Science Core Collection. Our objectives were to perform a bibliometric analysis and visualization study to determine hotspots and trends of home-based cardiac rehabilitation, identify collaboration and influence among authors, countries, institutions, and journals, and assess the knowledge base to develop clinical research in the future. This study will provide a valuable reference for researchers concerned with HBCR.

Abstract
Introduction Post-stroke aphasia (PSA) is a language disorder caused by left hemisphere stroke. Electroacupuncture (EA) is a minimally invasive therapeutic option for PSA treatment. Tongli (HT5) and Xuanzhong (GB39), two important language-associated acupoints, are frequently used in the rehabilitation of patients with PSA. Preliminary evidence indicated functional activation in distributed cortical areas upon HT5 and GB39 stimulation. However, research on the modulation of dynamic and static functional connectivity (FC) in the brain by EA in PSA is lacking. Method This study aimed to investigate the PSA-related effects of EA stimulation at HT5 and GB39 on neural processing. Thirty-five participants were recruited, including 19 patients with PSA and 16 healthy controls (HCs). The BOLD signal was analyzed by static independent component analysis, generalized psychophysiological interactions, and dynamic independent component analysis, considering variables such as age, sex, and years of education. Results The results revealed that PSA showed activated clusters in the left putamen, left postcentral gyrus (PostCG), and left angular gyrus in the salience network (SN) compared to the HC group. The interaction effect on temporal properties of networks showed higher variability of SN (F = 2.23, positive false discovery rate [pFDR] = 0.017). The interaction effect on static FC showed increased functional coupling between the right calcarine and right lingual gyrus (F = 3.16, pFDR = 0.043). For the dynamic FC, at the region level, the interaction effect showed lower variability and higher frequencies of circuit 3, with the strongest connections between the supramarginal gyrus and posterior cingulum (F = 5.42, pFDR = 0.03), middle cingulum and PostCG (F = 5.27, pFDR = 0.036), and triangle inferior frontal and lingual gyrus (F = 5.57, pFDR = 0.026). At the network level, the interaction effect showed higher variability in occipital network-language network (LN) and cerebellar network (CN) coupling, with stronger connections between the LN and CN (F = 4.29, pFDR = 0.042). Dynamic FC values between the triangle inferior frontal and lingual gyri were anticorrelated with transcribing, describing, and dictating scores in the Chinese Rehabilitation Research Center for Chinese Standard Aphasia Examination. Discussion These findings suggest that EA stimulation may improve language function, as it significantly modulated the nodes of regions/networks involved in the LN, SN, CN, occipital cortex, somatosensory regions, and cerebral limbic system.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Scholars have long understood that gastrointestinal microorganisms are intimately related to human disorders. The literature on research involving the gut microbiome and neuroscience is emerging. This study exposed the connections between gut microbiota and neuroscience methodically and intuitively using bibliometrics and visualization. This study's objectives were to summarize the knowledge structure and identify emerging trends and potential hotspots in this field. MATERIALS AND METHODS On October 18, 2022, a literature search was conducted utilizing the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database for studies on gut microbiota and neuroscience studies from 2002 to 2022 (August 20, 2022). VOSviewer and CiteSpace V software was used to conduct the bibliometrics and visualization analysis. RESULTS From 2002 to 2022 (August 20, 2022), 2,275 publications in the WoSCC database satisfied the criteria. The annual volume of publications has rapidly emerged in recent years (2016-2022). The most productive nation (n = 732, 32.18%) and the hub of inter-country cooperation (links: 38) were the United States. University College Cork had the most research papers published in this area, followed by McMaster University and Harvard Medical School. Cryan JF, Dinan TG, and Clarke G were key researchers with considerable academic influence. The journals with the most publications are "Neurogastroenterology and Motility" and "Brain Behavior and Immunity." The most cited article and co-cited reference was Cryan JF's 2012 article on the impact of gut microbiota on the brain and behavior. The current research hotspot includes gastrointestinal microbiome, inflammation, gut-brain axis, Parkinson's disease (PD), and Alzheimer's disease (AD). The research focus would be on the "gastrointestinal microbiome, inflammation: a link between obesity, insulin resistance, and cognition" and "the role of two important theories of the gut-brain axis and microbial-gut-brain axis in diseases." Burst detection analysis showed that schizophrenia, pathology, and psychiatric disorder may continue to be the research frontiers. CONCLUSION Research on "gastrointestinal microbiome, inflammation: a link between obesity, insulin resistance, and cognition" and "the role of two important theories of the gut-brain axis and microbial-gut-brain axis in diseases" will continue to be the hotspot. Schizophrenia and psychiatric disorder will be the key research diseases in the field of gut microbiota and neuroscience, and pathology is the key research content, which is worthy of scholars' attention.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The recent article Copper induces cell death by targeting lipoylated TCA cycle proteins has attracted much attention. Although copper-induced cell death has only recently been formally proposed, it has been studied much earlier. This study aims to undertake a bibliometric analysis of the literature on copper-induced cell death to understand the development of copper-induced cell death better and identify potential new research directions. METHODS With the help of Cite Space software, visual analysis is carried out on the annual number of published papers, countries/regions and institutions, journals co-citation, literature co-citation and reference burst, keywords co-occurrence, clustering, and burst. RESULTS A search of 770 articles published in English over the last ten years showed a fluctuating trend of increasing numbers of articles. China had the highest number of articles (190% or 24.68%), followed by the USA and India. Inflammation, biological evaluation, nanoparticle, and cu(ii) have been popular research themes in the last 4 years. The keyword clusters are summarized in 8 categories, including exposure, complexe, er stress, cleavage, paraptosis, cancer, glutamate, reactive oxygen species (ROS), expression. The hot topics are mainly focused on the exploration of mechanisms and related diseases, including induced apoptosis, aggregation, autophagy, endoplasmic reticulum stress, induced oxidative stress, and inflammation. Parkinson's disease and cancer are 2 diseases that are closely related to copper-induced cell death. CONCLUSION This study provides a visual analysis of copper-induced cell death trends and provides some hidden potentially useful information for future research directions.

Abstract
Objectives Protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) are closely associated with tumorigenesis, targeting PTMs of key proteins might be the focus of antitumor drug discovery. This study aimed to analyze the research progress on protein PTMs in tumorigenesis by performing qualitative and quantitative evaluations. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection was selected as the database, and Science Citation Index Expanded was selected as the citation index. Visualization tools such as VOSviewer, CiteSpace, HistCite, and Online Analysis Platform of Bibliometrics were used to deeply explore the information of the retrieved research papers and analyze them in terms of research trends and main aspects of research. Results The search yielded 3777 relevant articles. The results showed that the total number of PTMs related papers in cancer field has been increasing annually, with the largest number of papers published in the United States of America. The co-word cluster analysis showed that the research on PTMs and tumorigenesis was primarily focused on the following four areas, mechanism, histone, P53, key Technologies. Tumor metabolism, autophagy, and protein-protein interaction, histone ubiquitination have become new research topics. Conclusion This study provides an important reference for the research direction and selection of topics of interest in the PTMs of cancer field.

Abstract
Background Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are specialized structures formed by neutrophils that were initially found to be important in killing pathogenic bacteria during infection. With the development of related research, the relationship between NETs and diseases such as sepsis, cancer, and systemic lupus erythematosus has received close attention. However, there is a lack of reports that comprehensively and objectively present the current status of NETs-related studies. Therefore, this study aims to visually analyze the current status and trends of NETs-related research by means of bibliometrics and knowledge mapping. Methods NETs-related articles and reviews were retrieved using the Web of Science core collection subject search, and bibliometric analysis was performed in Excel 365, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio). Results A total of 4866 publications from 2004 to 2022 were included in the bibliometric analysis. The number of publications shows an increasing trend from year to year. Collaborative network analysis shows that the United States and Germany are the most influential countries in this field, with the highest number of publications and citations. The journal with the most publications is Frontiers in Immunology. Brinkmann Volker is an authoritative author in this field, and his publication "Neutrophil extracellular traps kill bacteria" is the most frequently cited. The literature and keyword analysis shows that the relationship between NETs and diseases (hematological diseases, sepsis, cancer, etc.) and cell death (apoptosis, necroptosis, pyroptosis, etc.) is a popular research topic. Currently, NETs and SARS-CoV-2-related studies are at the forefront of the field. Conclusion This study is the first to visualize the research in NETs-related fields using bibliometric methods, revealing the trends and frontiers of NETs research. This study will provide valuable references for scholars to find research focus questions and partners.

Abstract
Background Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a key factor in the invasion and migration of glioma cells, and the study of EMT in gliomas has become a hot topic over the past decade. Scientometric analysis is gaining more attention since it can obtain hot topics and emerging trends in a research field. This article analyzed the research related to EMT in gliomas for the first time, including descriptions of research situations, evaluations of research foci, and predictions of emerging trends. Methods We searched the topic-related original articles from January 2012 to December 2021 in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) by using a specific strategy, and a total of 1,217 publications were obtained. The WoS platform, VOS viewer, and CiteSpace were used to analyze the annual distribution of publications and citations, authors and density of keywords, and other analyses including countries, institutions, references, clustering, burst analysis, and the timeline view of keywords. Results Scientometric analysis identified that the study of EMT in gliomas has developed fast and received continuous attention in the last decade. Based on the results of data analysis, most publications on the topic came from China, and the United States had the highest betweenness centrality. The top 10 co-cited references revealed the landmark documents that had greatly promoted the development of this field. The major focus is on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of EMT in gliomas, and the therapy related to EMT target and non-coding RNAs has been developing fast in recent years. Conclusions This study revealed the intimate connections between EMT and gliomas, and the complex mechanisms regulating EMT in gliomas had been studied widely in the last decade. Exploring the deep mechanisms of EMT in gliomas is the foundation of the targeted inhibitions, which can promote the development of therapies for gliomas.

Abstract
Background: Ferroptosis is a newly proposed concept of programmed cell death and has been widely studied in many diseases during the past decade. However, a bibliometric study that concentrates on publication outputs and research trends of ferroptosis related to the brain is lacking. Methods: We retrieved publication data in the field of ferroptosis in the brain from the Web of Science Core Collection on 31 December 2021. A bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace software. Results: Six hundred fifty-six documents focusing on ferroptosis in the brain were published from 2012 to 2021. The number of publications in this field has shown a steady increase in recent years. Most publications were from China (338) and the United States (166), while the most productive organizations were at the University of Melbourne (34) and University of Pittsburgh (23). Ashley I. Bush was the most productive author, while Scott J Dixon was the most co-cited author. The journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine published the most articles in this field, while Cell was the most cited journal. Among 656 publications, top 10 cited documents were cited at least 300 times. Among the top 20 references with the strongest citation bursts, half of the papers had a burst until 2021. The keywords analysis suggests that the top 20 keywords appeared at least 40 times. Additionally, "amyloid precursor protein" was the keyword with strongest bursts. Conclusion: Research on ferroptosis in the brain will continue to be highly regarded. This study analyzed the research landscape of ferroptosis in the brain and offers a new reference for researchers in this field.

Abstract
With the development of nanomedicine, more and more nanoparticles are used in the diagnosis and treatment of leukemia. This study aimed to identify author, country, institutional, and journal collaborations and their impacts, assess the knowledge base, identify existing trends, and uncover emerging topics related to leukemia research. 1825 Articles and reviews were obtained from the WoSCC and analyzed by Citespace and Vosviewer. INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NANOMEDICINE is the journal with the highest output. The contribution of FRONTIERS IN BIOENGINEERING AND BIOTECHNOLOGY is also noteworthy. The three main aspects of research in Nanoparticles-leukemia-related fields included nanoparticles for the diagnosis and treatment of leukemia, related to the type and treatment of leukemia, the specific molecular mechanism, and existing problems of the application of nanoparticles in leukemia. In the future, synthesize nano-drugs that have targeted therapy and chemotherapy resistance according to the mechanism, which may be the dawn of the solution to leukemia. This study offers a comprehensive overview of the Nanoparticles-leukemia-related field using bibliometrics and visual methods for the first time, providing a valuable reference for researchers interested in Nanoparticles-leukemia.

Abstract
Background Immunotherapy has shown great potential for the treatment of multiple cancer and has been proven to be closely related to the tumor microenvironment. This article reveals collaborations and interactions among authors, nations, organizations, and periodicals assesses the knowledge base, and discovers hot tendencies and new topics associated with immunotherapy-tumor microenvironment (TME) research. Methods This article utilized bibliometrics and visual methods to provide a comprehensive overview of immunotherapy-TME research. Our team retrieved the WoSCC for research and reviews associated with immunotherapy and the tumor microenvironment. VOSviewer and Citespace were primarily used for literature measurement and knowledge graph analysis. Result All English articles and reviews on cancer immunotherapy effectiveness were collected, and 1,419 academic journals with 53,773 authors from 7,008 institutions in 92 countries/regions were found. Publications associated with immunotherapy-TME research were stably increasing. Frontiers of Immunology (n = 722) published the most papers on immunotherapy-TME, and Cancer Research (n = 6761) was the top co-cited journal. The published journals and co-cited journals focused on cancer and immunology fields. The League of European Research Universities (n = 978), Harvard University (n = 528), and the University of Texas system (n = 520) were the most productive institutions. Yang Liu (n = 34) and Topalian (n = 1978) ranked first among the top 10 scholars and co-cited scholars. Simultaneously, immunotherapy-TME researchers were involved in active collaborations. Elements of TME, the foundation of immunotherapy, and the application of immunotherapy in cancers represented the three principal aspects of immunotherapy-TME research. The latest hot spots are drug resistance, prognosis prediction, efficacy prediction, and m6A. Nanomedicine and m6A may be future hot topics. Future research in immunotherapy-TME may be directed at discovering how m6A modification affects tumor development by altering the tumor microenvironment and exploring how to enhance response or reduce drug resistance to immunotherapy by reversing or mediating the physicochemical properties of the TME. Conclusions M6A and nanomedicine are also emerging hotspots in time zone diagrams with high centrality, and prognosis prediction using bioinformatics based on the development of prediction technology may be another future research hotspot.

Abstract
Objective To present the global research features and hotspots, and forecast the emerging trends by conducting a bibliometric analysis based on literature related to autophagy of pancreatic cancer from 2011 to 2022. Methods The literature data regarding autophagy of pancreatic cancer were retrieved and downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) from Clarivate Analytics on June 10th, 2022. VOSviewer (version 1.6.18) was used to perform the bibliometric analysis. Results A total of 616 studies written by 3993 authors, covered 45 countries and 871 organizations, published in 263 journals and co-cited 28152 references from 2719 journals. China (n=260, 42.2%) and the United States (n=211, 34.3%) were the most frequent publishers and collaborated closely. However, publications from China had a low average number of citations (25.35 times per paper). The output of University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center ranked the first with 26 papers (accounting for 4.2% of the total publications). Cancers (n=23, 3.7%; Impact Factor = 6.639) published most papers in this field and was very pleasure to accept related researches. Daolin Tang and Rui Kang published the most papers (n=18, respectively). The research hotspots mainly focused on the mechanisms of autophagy in tumor onset and progression, the role of autophagy in tumor apoptosis, and autophagy-related drugs in treating pancreatic cancer (especially combined therapy). The emerging topics were chemotherapy resistance mediated by autophagy, tumor microenvironment related to autophagy, autophagy-depended epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), mitophagy, and the role of autophagy in tumor invasion. Conclusion Attention has been increasing in autophagy of pancreatic cancer over the past 12 years. Our results undoubtedly provide scholars with new clues and ideas in this field.

Abstract
Background Ferroptosis has been widely investigated as an emerging drug target, while its combination with nanoscience provides bourgeoning application prospects. The development of ferroptosis regulating nanomedicines have attracted worldwide attentions in recent years. It would be meaningful to describe the relevant publication paradigm. Methods Herein, a bibliometric analysis was performed using the database of Web of Science Core Collection to clarify the publication paradigm. The development of related publications in the last 6 years was described, and the revolutionary trends were figured out. Ultimately, the possible future exploration directions were proposed. Results The bibliometric analysis of 327 documents of interest indicated that the main research focus was in multiple fields including Materials science, Science & technology, Chemistry, and Pharmacology & pharmacy. With widely cooperation and strong funding, the researchers from Chinese organizations contributed most of publications, followed with United States and Australia. Cocitation analysis revealed that several original papers reported the key molecular mechanisms of ferroptosis were considered as the foundation for subsequent studies, and some nanomedicines-related documents were taken as examples and discussed. Mining results showed that the mechanism evaluation of ferroptosis regulation therapy for cancer treatment was the hotspot. Then, several possible future explorations of ferroptosis-related nanoscience were presented and discussed. Conclusions The bibliometric profile of nanoscience-ferroptosis research was analyzed in detail. We believe that the bibliometric analysis could act as a robust method for explicating the publication paradigm as a certain field.

Abstract
Background: Glioma is the most prevalent malignant tumor in the central nervous system (CNS). Due to its highly invasive characteristics and the existence of the blood–brain barrier (BBB), the early diagnosis and treatment of glioma remains a major challenge in cancer. With the flourishing development of nanotechnology, targeted nano-therapy for glioma has become a hot topic of current research by using the characteristics of nanoparticles (NPs), such as it is easier to pass the blood–brain barrier, degradable, and aids controllable release of drugs in the brain. The purpose of this study is to visualize the scientific achievements and research trends of the application of nanotechnology in glioma. Methods: We searched the literature related to glioma nanotechnology on the Web of Science (WOS). The bibliometric and visual analysis was performed mainly using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and R software, for countries/regions, authors, journals, references, and keywords associated with the field. Results: A total of 3,290 publications from 2012 to June 2022 were searched, and 2,041 works of literature were finally obtained according to the search criteria, the number of publications increasing year by year, with an average growth rate (AGR) of 15.22% from 2012 to 2021. China published 694 (20.99%), followed by the United States (480, 20.70%). The institution with the highest number of publications is Fudan Univ (111, 13.16%), and 80% of the top ten institutions belong to China. HUILE GAO (30) and XINGUO JIANG (30) both published the largest number of research studies. STUPP R (412) was the most cited author, followed by GAO HL (224). The degree of collaboration (DC) among countries/regions, research institutions, and authors is 23.37%, 86.23%, and 99.22%, respectively. International Journal of Nanomedicine published the largest number of publications (81), followed by Biomaterials (73). Biomaterials (1,420) was the most cited journal, followed by J Control Release (1,300). The high frequency of keywords was drug delivery (487), followed by nanoparticle (450), which indicates that nanoparticles (NPs) as a carrier for drug delivery is a hot topic of current research and a direction of continuous development. Conclusion: In recent years, nanotechnology has attracted much attention in the medical field. Cooperation and communication between countries/regions and institutions need to be strengthened in future research to promote the development of nanomedicine. Nanotherapeutic drug delivery systems (NDDS) can enhance drug penetration and retention in tumor tissues, improve drug targeting, and reduce the toxic side effects of drugs, which has great potential for the treatment of glioma and has become the focus of current research and future research trends in the treatment of glioma.

Abstract
Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) is a transcriptional coactivator that mediates the Hippo signaling pathway, which participates in the development and growth of the body; it plays key roles in tumorigenesis, metastasis, and therapy resistance. However, the pathophysiological mechanism of YAP1 has not been fully elucidated. Therefore, we explored the status and evolutionary trend in YAP1 research via bibliometric analysis. A total of 2,928 publications were downloaded from Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). The co-citation network map was drawn via CiteSpace and VOSviewer software. We analyzed the co-authorship networks among countries, journals, and authors, as well as co-occurrence of co-cited references, citation bursts, and keywords in YAP1 research, in order to predict its literature development. The present research evaluates the annual publication trends of YAP1 literature, and the following results were established: research on YAP1 are of steady increase; China present the highest co-citation; the Journal of Biological Chemistry (J Biol Chem) was the most productive journal, while Cell press received the most citations from co-cited references; Among the authors in the overall citations Bin Zhao is the most promising collaborator for emerging scholars in this field; and lastly, co-occurrence keyword analysis indicated that the emerging trends in YAP1 research were mainly focused on cancer therapy. We established that projects on YAP1 research is presently in its rapid developmental stage with active global collaboration. In addition, the mechanism and clinical significance of YAP1 in cancer was established as the potential trend of future studies.

Abstract
Background Pyroptosis is a lytic pro-inflammatory programmed cell death mode that depends on caspase, inflammasome, and Gasdermin D (GSDMD). A growing number of studies have shown that pyroptosis is closely related to the pathophysiological mechanism of lung. The purpose of this study is to analyze the literature from Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and visualize the current trends and hotspots in the research of pyroptosis in lung disease. Methods On February 20, 2022, we retrieved all articles on pyroptosis in lung disease from SCI-expanded of WoSCC. Original articles and reviews published in English from 2007 to 2021 were included in the analysis. VOSviewer 1.6.17 and CiteSpace 5.8.R2 were used to analyze the retrieved data and visualize the results. Result 1798 qualified original articles and reviews on pyroptosis in lung disease were included in the bibliometric analysis. So far, the research in this field is still in a period of growth, and the number of global publications has increased yearly. Among the 66 countries that have published relevant articles, China ranked first in the number of publications, and the USA ranked first in the number of cited articles. Holian,A. was the author with the largest number of articles, including 21 published. The University of California System in the USA was the organization with the largest number of articles, totaling 55. Frontiers in Immunology was the journal with the most publications in pyroptosis. After bibliometric analysis, the frequently used keywords are: “NOD-like receptor3 (NLRP3) inflammasome”, “inflammation”, “oxidative stress”, and “acute lung injury (ALI)”. Conclusion The research on pyroptosis in lung disease is in its growth stage. The information released in this article may help researchers better understand the hotspots and developmental trends in this field, the cooperation network information of authors, countries, and institutions, and the citation correlation between articles. With the in-depth study of the mechanism of pyroptosis, the focus has shifted to increasing research on the connections and influences of different diseases. So far, increasing attention has been paid to the research field of the relationship between ALI and pyroptosis related to COVID-19.

Abstract
An increasing number of research suggests that the microRNA (miRNA)-microbiome interaction plays an essential role in host health and diseases. This bibliometric analysis aimed to identify the status of global scientific output, research hotspots, and frontiers regarding the study of miRNA-microbiome interaction over the past decade. We retrieved miRNA-microbiome-related studies published from 2011 to 2021 from the Web of Science Core Collection database; the R package bibliometrix was used to analyze bibliometric indicators, and VOSviewer was used to visualize the field status, hotspots, and research trends of miRNA-microbiome interplay. In total, 590 articles and reviews were collected. A visual analysis of the results showed that significant increase in the number of publications over time. China produced the most papers, and the United States contributed the highest number of citations. Shanghai Jiaotong University and the University of California Davis were the most active institutions in the field. Most publications were published in the areas of biochemistry and molecular biology. Yu Aiming was the most prolific writer, as indicated by the h-index and m-index, and Liu Shirong was the most commonly co-cited author. A paper published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences in 2017 had the highest number of citations. The keywords "expression" and "gut microbiota" appeared most frequently, and the top three groups of diseases that appeared among keywords were cancer (colorectal, et al.), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), and neurological disorders (anxiety, Parkinson's disease, et al.). This bibliometric study revealed that most studies have focused on miRNAs (e.g., miR-21, miR-155, and miR-146a), gut microbes (e.g., Escherichia coli, Bifidobacterium, and Fusobacterium nucleatum), and gut bacteria metabolites (e.g., butyric acid), which have the potential to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of diseases. We found that therapeutic strategies targeting the miRNA-microbiome axis focus on miRNA drugs produced in vitro; however, some studies suggest that in vivo fermentation can greatly increase the stability and reduce the degradation of miRNA. Therefore, this method is worthy of further research.

Abstract
Objective The study was designed to explore the evolution of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) management in the last 20 years. Methods The top 100 most-cited papers on NSCLC treatment were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. R and VOSviewer were used to extract bibliographic information, including the year of publication, countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, impact factor, and total citations. The topic and type of papers were checked independently by authors. Bibliometric analysis was conducted and visualized with R, CiteSpace, Excel and VOSviewer to identify output dynamics, research forces, topics, hotspots, and frontiers in the field. Results The average citation of each retrieved top 100 most-cited NSCLC management papers was 1,725 (range: 615-7,340). Fifty-seven corresponding authors were from the United States. This country contributed the most papers (n=76), followed by Germany (n=34), France (n=33), and South Korea (n=32). The top contributors were Paz-Ares L. (n=12) and Reck M. (n=12). The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center published the largest number of papers (n=20). There were two significant citation paths, indicating publications in medicine/medical/clinical journals primarily cited journals in molecular/biology/genetics fields, partly cited health/nursing/medicine fields. Top-cited papers mainly came from the New England Journal of Medicine (n=33, citations=80,427), followed closely by the Journal of Clinical Oncology (n=28, citations=32,408). “Chemotherapy” (n=36) was the keyword with the greatest frequency of co-occurrence. “Open-label” was the keyword with the strongest burst strength (=4.01), followed by “nivolumab” (=3.85), “blockade” (=2.86), and “efficacy” (=2.85). Conclusions The United States as a nation and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as an institute contributed the most to this field. The New England Journal of Medicine is the most eye-catching journal. Hotspots of NSCLC management have almost undergone an evolution from chemotherapy and radiotherapy to targeted therapy to immunotherapy. Molecular/biological/genetic fields become the main research base for NSCLC treatment. Immunotherapy and combination therapy are research frontiers.

Current Status and Trends of Research on Anthracycline-Induced Cardiotoxicity from 2002 to 2021: A Twenty-Year Bibliometric and Visualization Analysis. Abstract
Anthracyclines constitute the cornerstone of numerous chemotherapy regimens for various cancers. However, the clinical application of anthracyclines is significantly limited to their dose-dependent cardiotoxicity. A comprehensive understanding of the current status of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity is necessary for in-depth research and optimal clinical protocols. Bibliometric analysis is widely applied in depicting development trends and tracking frontiers of a specific field. The present study is aimed at revealing the status and trends of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity during the past two decades by employing bibliometric software including R-bibliometric, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace. A total of 3504 publications concerning anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity from 2002 to 2021 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Results showed significant growth in annual yields from 90 records in 2002 to 304 papers in 2021. The United States was the most productive country with the strongest collaboration worldwide in the field. Charles University in the Czech Republic was the institution that contributed the most papers, while 7 of the top 10 productive institutions were from the United States. The United States Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health are the two agencies that provide financial support for more than 50% of sponsored publications. The research categories of included publications mainly belong to Oncology and Cardiac Cardiovascular Systems. The Journal of Clinical Oncology had a comprehensive impact on this research field with the highest IF value and many publications. Simunek Tomas from Charles University contributed the most publications, while Lipshultz Steven E. from the State University of New York possessed the highest H-index. In addition, the future research frontiers of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity might include early detection, pharmacogenomics, molecular mechanism, and cardiooncology. The present bibliometric analysis may provide a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners in future research directions.

Abstract
Background IL-37 is a recently identified cytokine with potent immunosuppressive functions. The research fronts of IL-37 are worth investigating, and there is no bibliometric analysis in this field. The purpose of this study is to construct the intellectual base and predict research hotspots of IL-37 research both quantitatively and qualitatively according to bibliometric analysis. Methods The articles were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from the inception of the database to 1 April 2022. CiteSpace 5.8.R3 (64-bit, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, USA) and Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology (https://bibliometric.com/) were used to perform bibliometric and knowledge-map analyses. Results A total of 534 papers were included in 200 academic journals by 2,783 authors in 279 institutions from 50 countries/regions. The journal Cytokine published the most papers on IL-37, while Nature Immunology was the most co-cited journal. The publications belonged mainly to two categories of Immunology and Cell Biology. USA and China were the most productive countries. Meanwhile, the University of Colorado Denver in USA produced the highest number of publications followed by Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands and Monash University in Australia. Charles A. Dinarello published the most papers, while Marcel F. Nold had the most co-citations. Top 10 co-citations on reviews, mechanisms, and diseases were regarded as the knowledge base. The keyword co-occurrence and co-citations of references revealed that the mechanisms and immune-related disorders were the main aspects of IL-37 research. Notably, the involvement of IL-37 in various disorders and the additional immunomodulatory mechanisms were two emerging hotspots in IL-37 research. Conclusions The research on IL-37 was thoroughly reviewed using bibliometrics and knowledge-map analyses. The present study is a benefit for academics to master the dynamic evolution of IL-37 and point out the direction for future research.

Abstract
Background Osteoblasts-Osteoclasts has been a major area in bone disease research for a long time. However, there are few systematic studies in this field using bibliometric analysis. We aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis and visualization study to determine hotspots and trends of osteoblasts-osteoclasts in bone diseases, identify collaboration and influence among authors, countries, institutions, and journals, and assess the knowledge base to develop basic and clinical research in the future. Methods We collected articles and reviews for osteoblasts-osteoclasts in bone diseases from the Web of Science Core Collection. In addition, we utilized scientometrics software (CiteSpace5.8 and VOSviewer1.6.18) for visual analysis of countries/regions, institutions, authors, references, and keywords in the field. Results In total, 16,832 authors from 579 institutions in 73 countries/regions have published 3,490 papers in 928 academic journals. The literature in this field is rapidly increasing, with Bone publishing the most articles, whereas Journal of Bone and Mineral Research had the most co-cited journals. These two journals mainly focused on molecular biology and the clinical medicine domain. The countries with the highest number of publications were the US and China, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences was the most active institution. Regarding authors, Stavros C. Manolagas published the most articles, and Hiroshi Takayanagi had the most co-cited papers. Research in this field mainly includes molecular expression and regulatory mechanisms, differentiation, osteoprotection, inflammation, and tumors. The latest research hotspots are oxidative stress, mutation, osteocyte formation and absorption, bone metabolism, tumor therapy, and in-depth mechanisms. Conclusion We identified the research hotspots and development process of osteoblasts-osteoclasts in bone disease using bibliometric and visual methods. Osteoblasts-osteoclasts have attracted increasing attention in bone disease. This study will provide a valuable reference for researchers concerned with osteoblasts-osteoclasts in bone diseases.

Abstract
Background: Autophagy is a highly regulated and evolutionarily conserved process in eukaryotes which is responsible for protein and organelle degradation. Although this process was described over 60 years ago, the selective autophagy of mitochondria (mitophagy) was recently coined in 2005. Research on the topic of mitophagy has made rapid progress in the past decade, which proposed to play critical roles in human health and disease. This study aimed to visualize the scientific outputs and research trends of mitophagy.Methods: Articles and reviews related to the topic of mitophagy were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on 30 November 2021. Two kinds of software (CiteSpace and VOSviewer) were used to perform a visualized analysis of countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, references, and keywords.Results: From 2005 to 2021, total 5844 publications on mitophagy were identified for final analysis. The annual number of publications grew yearly over the past 17 years. United States (N = 2025) and Chinese Academy of Sciences is the leading country and institute (N = 112) ranked by the number of publications, respectively. The most productive author was Jun Ren (N = 38) and Derek P. Narendra obtained the most co-cited times (2693 times). The journals with the highest output and the highest co-citation frequency were Autophagy (N = 208) and Journal of Biological Chemistry (co-citation: 17226), respectively. Analyses of references and keywords suggested that “mechanism of mitochondrial quality control”, “molecule and signaling pathway in mitophagy”, and “mitophagy related diseases” were research hotspots, and parkin-mediated mitophagy and its roles in skeletal muscle and inflammation-related diseases may be the frontiers of future research.Conclusion: Although mitophagy research has flourished and attracted attention from all over the world, the regional imbalance in the development of mitophagy research was observed. Our results provided a comprehensive global research landscape of mitophagy from 2005– 2021 from a perspective of bibliometrics, which may serve as a reference for future mitophagy studies.

Abstract
Background: Nanocomposite hydrogels (NHs) are stable composite materials formed by dispersing nanomaterials in hydrogels and have broad development prospects in the biomedical field. In this study, we aimed to systematically and comprehensively evaluate the trends and hot spots of biomedical applications of NHs from 2010 to 2022. Methods: In total, 713 articles and reviews related to NH applications in the biomedical field from 2010 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). Two scientometric software programs, VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel 2019, were used to visually perform bibliometric analysis in terms of research trends, sources, the contribution of journals, co-citation, and the co-occurrence of keywords. Results: From 1 January 2010 to 3 February 2022, the number of annual scientific publications about NHs exhibited an upward trend, and research articles were published in a larger proportion (more than 77%). The top three countries in NH research were China, the United States, and India. Meanwhile, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tshwane University of Technology were the most active and contributive. In the contribution of journals, the journal Advanced Functional Materials had the highest number of publications, and the journal Int J Biol Macro had the most citations. Varaprasad K was the most prolific author, and Haraguchi K ranked first among co-cited authors. In the ranking of frequency in the co-cited references, Nanocomposite Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications, published by Gaharwar AK, was the most frequently cited reference. The keyword with the highest frequency was “drug delivery.” Conclusion: This study performed a full overview of NHs using bibliometrics and identified current trends and hot spots. This information may help researchers focusing on NHs to identify developments in this field.

Abstract
BackgroundNecroptosis, a recently discovered programmed cell death, has been pathologically linked to various diseases and is thus a promising target for treating diseases. However, a comprehensive and objective report on the current status of entire necroptosis research is lacking. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to quantify and identify the status quo and trending issues of necroptosis research in the last decade.MethodsArticles were acquired from the Web of Science Core Collection database. We used two bibliometric tools (CiteSpace and VOSviewer) to quantify and identify the individual impact and cooperation information by analyzing annual publications, journals, co-cited journals, countries/regions, institutions, authors, and co-cited authors. Afterwards, we identified the trending research areas of necroptosis by analyzing the co-occurrence and burst of keywords and co-cited references.ResultsFrom 2012 to 2021, a total of 3,111 research articles on necroptosis were published in 786 academic journals by 19,687 authors in 885 institutions from 82 countries/regions. The majority of publications were from China and the United States, of which the United States maintained the dominant position in necroptosis research; meanwhile, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ghent University were the most active institutions. Peter Vandenabeele published the most papers, while Alexei Degterev had the most co-citations. Cell Death & Disease published the most papers on necroptosis, while Cell was the top 1 co-cited journal, and the major area of these publications was molecular, biology, and immunology. High-frequency keywords mainly included those that are molecularly related (MLKL, TNF-alpha, NF-κB, RIPK3, RIPK1), pathological process related (cell-death, apoptosis, necroptosis, necrosis, inflammation), and disease related (cancer, ischemia/reperfusion injury, infection, carcinoma, Alzheimer’s disease).ConclusionNecroptosis research had a stable stepwise growth in the past decade. Current necroptosis studies focused on its cross-talk with other types of cell death, potential applications in disease treatment, and further mechanisms. Among them, the synergy with ferroptosis, further RIPK1/RIPK3/MLKL studies, its association with inflammation and oxidative stress and translational applications, and the therapeutic potential to treat cancer and neurodegenerative diseases are the trending research area. These might provide ideas for further research in the necroptosis field.

Abstract
Background: Ferroptosis is a novel mechanism of programmed cell death coined in 2012, which has been found to play important roles in human health and disease. In the past decade, ferroptosis research has seen booming growth worldwide. The aim of this study was to visualize the scientific outputs and research trends of ferroptosis in the field of cancer.Methods: The raw data of publications were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection on 19 December 2021. The information on the impact factor (IF) and Journal Citation Reports (JCR) division were obtained from the website of Web of Science. Two kinds of software (CiteSpace and VOSviewer) were used to perform visualized analysis.Results: From 2012 to 2021, a total of 1833 publications related to ferroptosis in cancer were identified for final analysis. The annual number of citations and publications grew exponentially over the past decade. China (1,092) and United States (489) had the highest number of publications; Central South University and Guangzhou Medical University were the most productive institutions. Daolin Tang and Scott J Dixon were the most active authors ranked by most productive and co-cited, respectively. The journals with the highest output and co-citation frequency were Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications and Cell, respectively. Among the 1833 publications, four were identified with citations more than 1000 times. Six co-cited references had a citation burst duration until 2021. Analysis of keywords suggested the current research of ferroptosis in cancer clusters in 9 hotspots and newly emerging frontier may be “multidrug resistance”.Conclusion: Cancer research is the major area of active research in ferroptosis. Our results provide a global landscape of the ferroptosis research in cancer from 2012 to 2021, which serves as a reference for future studies in this field.

Abstract
Background Intrauterine adhesionis caused by a variety of reasons, such as damage of the endometrial basal layer, adhesion or occlusion of the uterine cavity or cervix in different degrees. Seriously endangering women's physical and mental health. Objective The purpose of this paper is to analyze the research development of intrauterine adhesions in recent 15 years, explore the future development direction, and promote the development of this field. Methods With intrauterine adhesions and Ashman's syndrome as the theme, the related literatures from January 2006 to July 2021 in the Web of Science were searched, and the visual atlas was analyzed by CiteSpace software. Results A total of 644 literatures were included. The key words related to intrauterine adhesion mainly include adhesion, pregnancy, expression, intrauterine adhesions, women, adhesion molecule, diagnosis, activation, hysteroscopy and fertility, etc. Six clusters were obtained by keywords analysis, involving hysteroscopy, placenta, office hysteroscopy, uterus and laparoscopy. Co-occurrence of keywords shows that the research focus in recent years is on endometrial repair and regeneration. Conclusions Through the bibliometric analysis of WOS research on intrauterine adhesions in recent 15 years, the comprehensive analysis of countries, institutions, authors and keywords is obtained, which has a clear guiding significance for guiding the future development of intrauterine adhesions.

Abstract
An increasing number of studies have shown that immunotherapy serves a significant role in treating colorectal cancer (CRC) and has become a hotspot. However, few studies used the bibliometric method to analyze this field comprehensively. This study collected 1,899 records of CRC immunotherapy from 2012 to October 31, 2021, and used CiteSpace to analyze regions, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords to predict the latest trends in CRC immunotherapy research. The United States and China, contributing more than 60% of publications, were the main drivers in this field. Sun Yat-sen University was the most active institution, while the National Cancer Institute had the highest frequency of citations. Most publications were published in the Journal for Immunotherapy of Cancer. Adam E Snook was the most prolific writer, while Dung T. Le was the most commonly co-cited author. “T cell”, “MMI” and “PD-1blocked” were the most widely studied aspects of CRC immunotherapy. “Immune checkpoint inhibitor”, “combination therapy”, “drug therapy” and “liver metastases” were current research hotspots. “Tumor microenvironment”, “neutrophils”, “tumor-associated macrophages”, and “suppressor cell” have emerged as research hotspots in recent years. “Gut microbiota”, “nanoparticle” and “tumor mutational burden” as recently emerged frontiers of research that should be closely monitored.

Abstract
Background Being the S-enantiomer of racemic ketamine, esketamine is found to be effective for sedation, analgesia, and treating depression. However, there is no comprehensive bibliometric analysis about esketamine research. In this study, we aimed to determine the scientific output and emerging topics related to esketamine. Methods Esketamine-related articles and reviews that published between 2000 and 2020 were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database, using key word search of “esketamine” “esketamine hydrochloride”, “s-ketamine”, “S(+)-ketamine”, “(S)-ketamine”, or “(–)-ketamine”. Various bibliographic elements were collected, including the annual number of publications, citation frequency, countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords. Two sorts of scientometric software, namely VOS viewer and CiteSpace, were used to conduct bibliometric and knowledge-map analyses. Results A total of 683 publications were included in the current study. We found the number of publications in esketamine research field had increased annually since 2016. The United States was the leader in this field, with the highest publications number (162, 23.72%), total citations (3504/9713, 36.08%) and H-index (40). The most productive institution was Chiba University in Japan, and esketamine-related papers were mainly published in the journal Anesthesia & Analgesia. The keyword co-occurrence analysis showed that keywords relevant to depression were the most frequent. Moreover, all identified keywords could be divided into four clusters, with the research focus gradually shifting from cluster of “anesthesia and analgesia detection” to “depression treatment effect.”. Conclusion The past two decades have shown a marked increase in esketamine research. The United States maintained a top position worldwide, making the most significant contributions in the field of esketamine research. The contributions and collaborations of Asian countries have continuously increased and is a strong area of growth as well as development in recent years. Additionally, the emerging hotspots of esketamine research concentrate on clarifying its depression treatment effect.

Abstract
ObjectivesA bibliometric and knowledge-map analysis is used to explore hotspots’ evolution and development trends in the CAR-T cell field. By looking for research hotspots and new topics, we can provide new clues and ideas for researchers in this field.MethodsThe articles and reviews regarding CAR-T cells were retrieved and obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) on October 28th, 2021. CtieSpace [version 5.8.R3 (64-bit)] and VOSviewer (version 1.6.17) were used to conduct the bibliometric and knowledge-map analysis.Results660 authors from 488 institutions in 104 countries/regions published 6,867 papers in 1,212 academic journals. The United States was absolutely in the leading position in this research field. The institution that contributed the most publications was the University of Pennsylvania. Carl H June published the most articles, while Shannon L Maude had the most co-citations. However, there was little cooperation between countries. After 2012, cooperation among various institutions was also small. The journals that published the most CAR-T cell-related papers were Frontiers in immunology and Cancers. Nevertheless, Blood and The New England Journal of Medicine were the most commonly co-cited journals. The most influential research hotspots were the research of CAR-T cells in hematological malignancies, the related research of cytokine release syndrome (CRS), CD19, and the anti-tumor activity and efficacy of CAR-T cells. The latest hotspots and topics included the study of CAR-T cells in solid tumors, universal CAR-T cells, CAR-NK cells, CD22, and anakinra (the IL-1 receptor antagonist). The research of CAR-T cells in solid tumors was a rapidly developing hot field. Emerging topics in this field mainly included the study of CAR-T cells in glioblastoma (related targets: IL13Rα2, EGFRvIII, and HER2), neuroblastoma (related target: GD2), sarcoma (related target: HER2), and pancreatic cancer (related target: mesothelin), especially glioblastoma.ConclusionAs an anti-tumor therapy with great potential and clinical application prospects, CAR-T cell therapy is still in a stage of rapid development. The related field of CAR-T cells will remain a research hotspot in the future.

Abstract
Background: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is a common cutaneous cancer with increasing incidence. Itraconazole has been identified as a potential anticancer drug candidate. However, the role of itraconazole in cSCC was still unclear. Our objective is exploring the therapeutic potential of itraconazole in cSCC and investigate its molecular mechanism. Methods: The anti-proliferation effect of itraconazole was tested with CCK-8 assay and clone formation assay. Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis rate were detected using flow cytometry and TUNEL assay, respectively. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses were used to explore the underlying anti-cancer mechanism. Luciferase reporter assay was used for promoter activity. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), lipid peroxidation and iron accumulation were examined. The in vivo efficacy of itraconazole was assessed in a xenograft model. Results: Itraconazole inhibited the cell proliferation, induced apoptosis and blocked cell cycle of cSCC cells. An integrated analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic analyses identified that 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA synthase 1 (HMGCS1) and acyl-CoA synthetase long-chain family member 4 (ACSL4) were significantly upregulated in A431 cells treated with itraconazole. HMGCS1 silencing reversed the antiproliferative activity of itraconazole in A431 cells. Dual-luciferase assay showed that itraconazole could promote HMGCS1 transcription. HMGCS1 silencing abated the expression of ACSL4 in A431 cells. The level of ROS, lipid peroxidation, as well as iron accumulation were increased by itraconazole. Moreover, treatment with itraconazole impeded tumor growth in A431-bearing mice. Conclusion: We proved itraconazole inhibits the growth of cSCC by regulating HMGCS1/ACSL4 axis.

Abstract
Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent regulated cell-death caused by the accumulation of lipid peroxides, which is different from apoptosis, autophagy, necroptosis and other forms of regulatory cell death in morphology and mechanism. It has attracted interest and attention of scholars from all over the world during the past years. Recent studies have shown that ferroptosis is able to play a clear and important role in cancer treatment, providing a bright prospect for targeted cancer therapy. This article aims to analyze current scientific results about the application of ferroptosis in the field of cancer treatment, providing new ideas for further research. We retrieved publications related to ferroptosis and cancer treatment from 2012 to 2020 from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), screening them according to the inclusion criteria. A total of 965 related papers were included, and the total number of publications increased year by year. We used CiteSpace 5.7. R2, VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel 2019 to evaluate and visualize the results, analyzing institutions, countries/regions, journals, authors, co-cited reference and keywords. Overall, with more and more evidence showing the indispensable role of ferroptosis in cancer, its mechanism research and target discovery may become the main direction of future research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Indocyanine green fluorescence cholangiography is a new type of cholangiography that has emerged in recent years. It has many advantages, such as simplicity, safety, and efficiency, and is expected to become a routine procedure for intraoperative cholangiography in the future. However, there is no bibliometric analysis of horizontal generalization in this field. Therefore, this study aims to assess the current research status and developmental trends in this field from a global perspective and to help guide the focus of future research. METHODS This study was conducted by retrieving the literature related to ICG fluorescence cholangiography published in English from 2000 to 2021 from Web of Science. The Histcite. Pro tool was used to analyze the bibliometric indicators, and VOSviewer was used to visualize the research trends and hotspots in this field. RESULTS 192 related studies were finally included. For the past 20 years, the number of related publications in this field have increased yearly, with 2010 being a breakthrough point for research in this field. Research has developed rapidly since 2013 and may continue to expand in the next several years. The USA and Japan play leading roles in this field. "SURG ENDOSC", "SURG INNOV", and "J LAPAROENDOSC ADV S" are core journals that publish high-quality literature and the latest developments in this field. Some authors who have a large number of high-quality publications include Ishizawa T and Kokudo N. The current research hotspots in this field are focused on exploring the factors that affect ICG cholangiography and optimization measures. CONCLUSIONS In general, the number of documents related to ICG fluorescence cholangiography is growing rapidly, with the USA and Japan being influential countries and China being one of the major producers of these documents. The optimization of this new technology will affect key developments in future research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Up to now, the physiology, pathology, and recovery of beta-cells have been intensively studied and made great progress, and these are of major significance for the treatment of related diseases. Nevertheless, a comprehensive and objective report on the status of beta-cell research is lacking. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to quantify and identify the current status and trending issues in beta-cell research. METHODS The articles and reviews related to beta-cell were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection on August 31, 2022. Two scientometric software (CiteSpace 6.1.R3 and VOSviewer 1.6.18) were used to perform bibliometric and knowledge-map analysis. RESULTS A total of 4098 papers were published in 810 academic journals in 2938 institutions from 83 countries/regions. The number of beta-cell-related publications was increasing steadily. The United States was the most productive country, while Universite libre de Bruxelles, University of Toronto and University of Geneva were the most active institutions. Diabetes published the most beta-cell studies and received the largest number of co-citations. Decio I Eizirik published the most papers and had the most co-citations. Twelve references on reviews and mechanisms were regarded as the knowledge base. Four major aspects of beta-cell research included the pathological mechanism of beta-cell failure, the recovery of beta cells, the risk factor related to beta cells, and the physiology of beta cells. Endoplasmic reticulum stress and oxidative stress have been core elements throughout the research in this field. In addition, beta-cell dedifferentiation, inflammation, autophagy, miRNA, and lncRNA are hot topics nowadays. Additionally, stem cell replacement therapies might be the alternative way to reverse beta-cell failure. Restoring beta-cell mass and function will remain a research goal in the future. CONCLUSION This study provided a comprehensive overview of beta-cell research through bibliometric and visual methods. The information would provide helpful references for scholars focusing on beta cells.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Open burning is a waste management practice performed by many people worldwide, especially in developing countries. Lack of detailed data of open burning practices may lead to a misinterpretation during data analysis, especially when estimating global/local emissions and assessing risks. This study presents a comprehensive review of current research trends, methodological assessments, and factors behind open waste burning practices from published literature. This review used systematic methods such as PRISMA 2020 methodology, a bibliometric approach, and qualitative content analysis to determine and assess 84 articles related to open burning. The results show that environmental risks and emission factors related to open burning incidents at the landfill or residential level are preferable topics that will be rising in the years to come. Coupling methods such as a transect-based approach with a questionnaire survey and mobile-static plume sampling to determine the activities and incidents as baseline data for risk assessment will help researchers gain a robust dataset of open burning emission inventory. In addition, it was found that environmental knowledge and awareness levels influence open burning practices, thereby opening up opportunities for future research.
