Abstract
Use of both cannabis and tobacco has surpassed use of tobacco alone among young adults in California. To better understand why, we collected data with 32 young adults ages 18-30 in Northern California who regularly used cigarettes and cannabis and had diverse sexual, gender, racial, and ethnic identities. Geographically-explicit ecological momentary assessment (EMA; 30 days) was integrated with qualitative mapping interviews. We found contrasting situations of use for cannabis (e.g., around other people) versus cigarettes (e.g., recent discrimination) and different reasons for why participants chose one substance over the other (e.g., enhancing experiences vs. stepping away). Understanding when and why diverse young adults choose cannabis versus cigarettes as they navigate everyday environments helps explain how cannabis and tobacco retail markets shape substance use disparities over time.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Bisexual women have high rates of tobacco and cannabis use, but few studies have examined co-use behavior in this population. Although the role of distal minority stressors (eg, discrimination) on substance use has been examined, fewer studies have examined proximal minority stressors (eg, negative sexual identity self-schemas). The current study was a secondary data analysis that examined patterns of tobacco and cannabis use, and the role of distal (instability of bisexuality, sexual irresponsibility of bisexual people, and hostility toward bisexual people) and proximal (illegitimacy of bisexuality, anticipated binegativity, internalized binegativity, and identity affirmation) bisexual-specific minority stressors among bisexual women. METHODS Participants were 224 young (aged 18-30 years old) self-identified bisexual women who reported on their past 30-day tobacco and cannabis use and completed measures of distal and proximal bisexual-specific minority stressors. Participants were categorized into one of 4 patterns: no use, tobacco use only, cannabis use only, and tobacco and cannabis co-use. RESULTS The most common pattern of past 30-day use was tobacco and cannabis co-use (39.1%). Results from a multinomial logistic regression revealed that bisexual women who reported higher illegitimacy of bisexuality, a proximal minority stressor, were significantly more likely to engage in tobacco and cannabis co-use, relative to no use. DISCUSSION Bisexual women have particularly high rates of substance use, with tobacco and cannabis co-use as the most common pattern. Incorporating the role of proximal minority stressors, and specifically, beliefs about the legitimacy of bisexuality, may be an important target of substance use interventions for bisexual women.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the contexts in which college students use e-cigarettes and marijuana, perceptions about the benefits and harms, and health effects of use. PARTICIPANTS College student e-cigarette and marijuana ever users (n = 20; 18-21 years old) from the Texas Adolescent Tobacco and Marketing Surveillance System (TATAMS). METHODS Participants completed a one-hour long online interview about their experiences using e-cigarettes and marijuana. Thematic content analysis in NVivo identified prominent themes. RESULTS Vaping nicotine and marijuana were preferred and perceived as normal, trendy and useful in circumventing smoke-free campus policies. Preference for nicotine versus marijuana fluctuates during the academic school year in response to campus restrictions and work and school-related activities. College students commonly experienced health effects (shortness of breath, wheezing) attributed to vaping, did not perceive their use as very harmful, and perceived their use as a college-related phase. CONCLUSIONS Findings have implications for college-based health education, resources, and smoke-free policies.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Current use of tobacco and marijuana products is largely defined as use within the past 30-days or more recently. These products are not used in the same manner, frequency, or context especially among young adults who are increasingly at risk for poly-product use. The purpose of this study was to examine patterns of most recent product use across select tobacco and marijuana products. MATERIALS AND METHODS Data used in this study come from a cross-sectional survey conducted among a nationally representative sample of young adults ages 18-34 (n = 1,189) in the U.S. from October-November 2020. Respondents were asked about past product and most recent use of select tobacco/nicotine products (cigarettes, little filtered cigars and cigarillos, large cigars, e-cigarettes, hookah/water pipes) and marijuana products (blunts, e-cigarettes with marijuana, and other products with marijuana). RESULTS A high proportion of young adults reported having used at least one tobacco (79.6%) or marijuana (68.6%) products. There is variability in the distribution of most recent use across different tobacco and marijuana users even within the past 3 to past 6 months where nearly one in five users of any product report last use. The average number of tobacco/nicotine products used as well as concurrent marijuana use were lowest when looking at those whose most recent use was within the past 30-days. As the measures of most recent use became more broad, the number of tobacco/nicotine products used increased as did the prevalence of concurrent marijuana use which extended through the past 6-months. CONCLUSION Measures of current use may need to be expanded beyond the past 30-days to include through the past 6-months to better encapsulate usage patterns when considering poly-tobacco and marijuana co-use.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Young adults are at risk for cigar smoking, which is associated with cancers and pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases. Little is known about young adults' beliefs about smoking cigarillos, little filtered cigars, and large cigars, and how these beliefs may vary across cigar types and by cigar susceptibility. AIMS AND METHODS The larger study surveyed a U.S. sample of young adults (18-30 years old) who never used tobacco products (n = 948) through Qualtrics online panel services in August 2021-January 2022. We assessed participants' susceptibility to using different cigar types. Participants were randomly assigned to open-ended questions about one of the three cigar types to elicit behavioral, normative, and control beliefs. We conducted thematic analysis to code emergent themes within each belief and examined the frequency of reported themes at the intersection of cigar type and cigar susceptibility. RESULTS Cigar susceptible participants reported positive behavioral beliefs (eg, anticipated relaxation, mood regulation, being cool), friends as supportive referents, and easy-to-smoke control beliefs (eg, high accessibility, low cost) more frequently than non-susceptible participants. Varied frequency by cigar type also emerged. For example, cigarillo and little filtered cigar features were mentioned more frequently as easy-to-smoke control beliefs, while low accessibility was reported more frequently as a hard-to-smoke control belief for large cigars. CONCLUSIONS Findings identify salient beliefs about cigarillo, little filtered cigar, and large cigar smoking among young adult tobacco never-users. Future research should investigate the potential importance of these beliefs in cigar smoking susceptibility and initiation among young adults, and their potential utility in prevention research. IMPLICATIONS This thematic analysis identified salient beliefs about cigarillos, little filtered cigars, and large cigars among a U.S. young adult sample, and differentiated emergent beliefs by cigar susceptibility status and by cigar type. Given the lack of cigar smoking prevention media campaigns, identifying these beliefs is the one of the first steps in developing effective cigar smoking prevention strategies. Future quantitative studies are needed to confirm the relationships between these beliefs and smoking initiation of each cigar type to further inform the types of beliefs to be targeted in strategic communication and help prevent cigar smoking initiation among susceptible young adults.

Abstract
Background: Research suggests flavor facilitates cigarillo use, but it is unknown if flavor impacts patterns of co-use of cigarillos and cannabis ("co-use"), which is common among young adult smokers. This study's aim was to determine the role of the cigarillo flavor in co-use among young adults. Methods: Data were collected (2020-2021) in a cross-sectional online survey administered to young adults who smoked ≥2 cigarillos/week (N = 361), recruited from 15 urban areas in the United States. A structural equation model was used to assess the relationship between flavored cigarillo use and past 30-day cannabis use (flavored cigarillo perceived appeal and harm as parallel mediators), including several social-contextual covariates (e.g., flavor and cannabis policies). Results: Most participants reported usually using flavored cigarillos (81.8%) and cannabis use in the past 30 days ("co-use") (64.1%). Flavored cigarillo use was not directly associated with co-use (p = 0.90). Perceived cigarillo harm (β = 0.18, 95% CI = 0.06, 0.29), number of tobacco users in the household (β = 0.22, 95% CI = 0.10, 0.33), and past 30-day use of other tobacco products (β = 0.23, 95% CI = 0.15, 0.32) were significantly positively associated with co-use. Living in an area with a ban on flavored cigarillos was significantly negatively associated with co-use (β = -0.12, 95% CI = -0.21, -0.02). Conclusions: Use of flavored cigarillos was not associated with co-use; however, exposure to a flavored cigarillo ban was negatively associated with co-use. Cigar product flavor bans may reduce co-use among young adults or have a neutral impact. Further research is needed to explore the interaction between tobacco and cannabis policy and use of these products.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Research undertaken since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic has provided us information about the impact of the pandemic on the gambling habits of the general population. However, very little is known about certain subgroups at increased risk of developing gambling disorder, such as the LGBTQIA2S+ population. The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gambling behaviours among LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. In addition, we want to understand the experiences of the LGBTQIA2S+ population with gambling disorder and identify interventions that LGBTQIA2S+ people have found to be effective in addressing problem gambling during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS AND ANALYSIS This study has a sequential explanatory mixed-method design in two phases over 2 years. The first phase is a correlational study. We will conduct a cross-sectional survey using a stratified random sampling among Canadian residents who are 18 years of age or older, self-identify as sexually and gender-diverse (ie, LGBTQIA2S+) and have gambled at least once in the previous 12 months. This survey will be administered online via a web panel (n=1500). The second phase is a qualitative study. Semistructured interviews will be conducted with LGBTQIA2S+ people with problematic gambling (n=30). ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION This research project has been ethically and scientifically approved by the Research Ethics Committee and by the CIUSSS de l'Estrie-CHUS scientific evaluation committee on 3 March 2022 (reference number: 2022-4633-LGBTQ-JHA). Electronic and/or written informed consent, depending on the data collection format (online survey and online or in-person interviews), will be obtained from each participant. A copy of the consent form and contact information will be delivered to each participant.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Little filtered cigars and cigarillos (LCCs) are consumed infrequently, co-administered with marijuana, and concurrently used with other tobacco products. Reliance on the past 30-day use estimate, a marker of tobacco user status, may underestimate the dynamic nature of intermittent LCC and other tobacco product use. We developed a framework to capture the intermittent nature of exclusive LCC use and dual/poly use with cigarettes and large cigars using broader timing of last product use categories and product use modality (e.g., with marijuana). METHODS Data come from the baseline C'RILLOS study, a U.S. nationally representative sample of young adults aged 18-34 (n = 1063) collected in October 2019. We developed a consumption taxonomy framework that accounted for respondents' modality of LCC use (i.e., use with tobacco, LCC-T, or use with marijuana as blunts, LCC-B), the exclusive use of LCCs and other tobacco products (i.e., cigarettes, and large cigars) or their co-use and the timing of last product use (i.e., ever and past 30 days, past 3 months, past 6 months, greater than 6 months). RESULTS Seventy-five percent of our sample reported ever use of any combustible tobacco product, including LCCs. The most common ever use pattern was poly use of LCC-T + LCC-B + cigarettes (16%). Our consumption taxonomy framework demonstrated the fluid nature of combustible tobacco product use among LCC users. For instance, among past 30-day cigarette users, 48% reported using LCC-T, 39% reported using LCC-B, and 32% reported using large cigars in the past 3 months or more. DISCUSSION The tobacco use field currently classifies 'tobacco users' based on the product they smoked in the past 30 days. Any tobacco product use beyond the past 30-day period is considered 'discontinued use' and not the focus of intervention or tobacco regulatory science decisions. We documented the substantial proportion of young adult LCC, cigarette, and large cigar users who either exclusively or dual/poly used these combustible products in recent (e.g., past 3 months) periods. To prevent underestimation of use, surveillance measures should assess the use modality, timing of last product use, and exclusive/multiple product use to more accurately identify the smoking status of young adult LCC users.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The COVID-19 pandemic has major collateral impacts on mental health. Gambling is among the major public health issues that seems to have been transformed by the pandemic. In the province of Quebec in Canada, gambling is an important leisure activity. About two out of three adults are in Quebec gamble. The objective of this study is to draw a portrait of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on gamblers and to learn more about their experiences during the pandemic in the province of Quebec. METHOD AND ANALYSIS This study has a sequential explanatory mixed-method design in two phases. The first phase is a cross-sectional online survey with Quebec residents who are 18 years of age or older and have gambled at least once in the previous 12 months. The second phase will be a qualitative study. Semistructured interviews will be conducted with gamblers, family members, addiction counsellors and state representatives selected through purposing sampling. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION This study is one of the first mixed-methods studies on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on gambling. This study will generate new scientific knowledge on a worrisome public health issue, that is, gambling, and provide a better understanding of the experiences and gambling behaviours of gamblers during the pandemic. This study is funded by the Ministry of Health and Social Services of the Government of Quebec and was approved on 27 October 2020 by the Scientific and Research Ethics Committee of the CIUSSS de l'Estrie-CHUS. This is a 2-year study that will be completed in June 2022.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although evidence shows that co-use of cigarettes and cannabis is common, there is little research examining if co-use patterns vary depending on the regulatory environment for cannabis. This study examined patterns of co-use and perceptions of relative harm among cigarette smokers in four countries with different histories, and at different stages of cannabis legalization. METHODS Data are from the 2018 International Tobacco Control 4CV Survey and included 10035 adult cigarette smokers from Canada, United States (US), Australia, and England. At the time of the survey, Canada and the US had relatively more permissive cannabis regulations compared to Australia and England. RESULTS Among this sample of 10035 cigarette smokers, Canada had the highest rate of cannabis co-use in the last 12 months (36.3%), followed by the US (29.1%), England (21.6%), and Australia (21.4%). Among past 12 month co-users (n = 3134), the US (40.2%) and Canada (35.2%) had the highest rates of daily cannabis use, followed by smokers in England (26.3%) and Australia (21.7%); Australian co-users had the highest rate of infrequent ( CONCLUSION Patterns of tobacco and cannabis co-use differed between countries. Smokers in Canada and the US had higher rates of co-use, daily cannabis use, dual-daily use of both cannabis and cigarettes, and were more likely to perceive smoked cannabis as less harmful than cigarettes compared to England and Australia. Further attention as to how varying cannabis regulations may impact co-use patterns is warranted.
