Abstract
We report a case of an infratentorial ganglioglioma in a 56-year-old male, who underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during the diagnostic workup for a suspected lung cancer. The MRI scan revealed a space-occupying lesion of the left lobulus semilunaris superior cerebelli, which was assumed being a metastasis. The asymptomatic lesion was resected to establish the diagnosis. Histologic and immunohistochemical studies showed a ganglioglioma with World Health Organization grade I characteristics. Although ganglioglioma typically exhibits a supratentorial predilection, it should be included in the differential diagnosis of lesions occurring in the cerebellum.

Abstract
Microrecurrent glioma is a common neurological tumor, and the key to its surgical treatment is to accurately evaluate the size, location and degree of recurrence of the lesion. The purpose of this study was to explore the surgical treatment of microrecurrent glioma based on MR Imaging, and to provide accurate and reliable basis for clinical decision-making. Before surgery, detailed MR Imaging tests were performed for each patient to accurately locate and evaluate the characteristics of the lesions. Multimodal imaging examination were arranged to accurate the pre-operation diagnosis. Neuro-navigation is necessary for the operation design and tumor confirmation. Function monitor and intraoperation MR were prepared when necessary.Mini was defined by the size, location and symptoms. In all 5 cases requiring reoperation, total resection was achieved. No systemic and local complications occurred. No permeant neurological dysfunction remained. The average stay time after the operation is days. All patients survived in the recent follow-up. Reoperation of mini recurrent glioma is a good treatment choice. We made little injury to patients, which wouldn't affect their conditions and next therapies. Through MR Imaging, the diagnosis and location of microrecurrent glioma, as well as the relationship with surrounding tissues and the degree of infiltration, provide important information for surgeons to evaluate the resectable lesion. By combining MR And functional imaging results, the blood supply and functional area of the lesion can be monitored in real time during surgery, thereby reducing surgical risk and maximizing the protection of surrounding healthy tissue.

Abstract
The standard treatment in glioblastoma includes maximal safe resection followed by concomitant radiotherapy plus chemotherapy and adjuvant temozolomide. The first follow-up study to evaluate treatment response is performed 1 month after concomitant treatment, when contrast-enhancing regions may appear that can correspond to true progression or pseudoprogression. We retrospectively evaluated 31 consecutive patients at the first follow-up after concomitant treatment to check whether the metabolic pattern assessed with multivoxel MRS was predictive of treatment response 2 months later. We extracted the underlying metabolic patterns of the contrast-enhancing regions with a blind-source separation method and mapped them over the reference images. Pattern heterogeneity was calculated using entropy, and association between patterns and outcomes was measured with Cramér's V. We identified three distinct metabolic patterns-proliferative, necrotic, and responsive, which were associated with status 2 months later. Individually, 70% of the patients showed metabolically heterogeneous patterns in the contrast-enhancing regions. Metabolic heterogeneity was not related to the regions' size and only stable patients were less heterogeneous than the rest. Contrast-enhancing regions are also metabolically heterogeneous 1 month after concomitant treatment. This could explain the reported difficulty in finding robust pseudoprogression biomarkers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore pre-treatment imaging findings of neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK)-rearranged spindle cell neoplasm, an emerging group of molecularly defined soft tissue tumors and summarize the clinical course, including TRK inhibitor therapy response. MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective study included 8 women and 4 men with NTRK-rearranged spindle cell neoplasm (median age, 35.5 years, range, 0-66). Available pre-treatment MRI, CT, PET, and US imaging were reviewed. Tumor histology and the patients' clinical course were reviewed. RESULTS Primary tumors were located within the soft tissue, lungs, kidney, and breast with soft tissue being the most prevalent site (n = 6). Pre-treatment MRI (n = 4) revealed linear hypointense signal foci and contrast enhancement in all patients with hemorrhage in half of the tumors. A tail sign (n = 1) and fluid levels (n = 1) were less frequent. Ultrasound showed well-marginated hypoechoic masses with internal flow. Primary tumors were all non-calcified on CT (4/4). Metastases were FDG-avid (4/4). Among the 8 patients who developed metastasis, 7 developed pulmonary metastases. All four patients who received NTRK inhibitor therapy showed an initial decrease in tumor size or FDG uptake. CONCLUSION NTRK-rearranged neoplasms may occur as enhancing masses with linear hypointense signal foci on MRI and FDG avid metastases on PET. Pulmonary metastases were frequent in our study. Initial treatment response is observed in most patients.

Abstract
Magnetic resonance (MR) image-guided radiotherapy is widely used in the treatment planning of malignant tumors, and MR-only radiotherapy, a representative of this technique, requires synthetic computed tomography (sCT) images for effective radiotherapy planning. Convolutional neural networks (CNN) have shown remarkable performance in generating sCT images. However, CNN-based models tend to synthesize more low-frequency components and the pixel-wise loss function usually used to optimize the model can result in blurred images. To address these problems, a frequency attention conditional generative adversarial network (FACGAN) is proposed in this paper. Specifically, a frequency cycle generative model (FCGM) is designed to enhance the inter-mapping between MR and CT and extract more rich tissue structure information. Additionally, a residual frequency channel attention (RFCA) module is proposed and incorporated into the generator to enhance its ability in perceiving the high-frequency image features. Finally, high-frequency loss (HFL) and cycle consistency high-frequency loss (CHFL) are added to the objective function to optimize the model training. The effectiveness of the proposed model is validated on pelvic and brain datasets and compared with state-of-the-art deep learning models. The results show that FACGAN produces higher-quality sCT images while retaining clearer and richer high-frequency texture information.

Abstract
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a significant global health concern. Diagnostic imaging, using different modalities, has a pivotal role in CRC, from early detection (i.e., screening) to follow-up. The role of imaging in CRC screening depends on each country's approach: if an organized screening program is in place, the role of CT colonography (CTC) is limited to the study of either individuals with a positive stool test unwilling/unable to undergo colonoscopy (CC) or in patients with incomplete CC. Although CC is the most common modality to diagnose CRC, CRC can be also incidentally detected during a routine abdominal imaging examination or at the emergency room in patients presenting with intestinal occlusion/subocclusion or perforation. Staging is a crucial aspect of CRC management, guiding treatment decisions and providing valuable prognostic information. An accurate local staging is mandatory in both rectal and colon cancer to drive the appropriate therapeutic workflow. Important limitations of US, CT, and MR in N-staging can be partially solved by FDG PET/CT. Distant staging is usually managed by CT, with MR and FDG PET/CT which can be used as problem-solving techniques. Follow-up is performed according to the general recommendations of the oncological societies. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: It is essential to summarize each phase of colorectal cancer workup, differentiating the management for colon and rectal cancer supported by the main international guidelines and literature data, with the aim to inform the community on the best practice imaging in colorectal cancer. KEY POINTS: • Colorectal cancer is a prevalent disease that lends itself to imaging at each stage of detection and management. • Various imaging modalities can be used as adjuncts to, or in place of, direct visualization methods of screening and are necessary for evaluating metastatic disease. • Reevaluation of follow-up strategies should be considered depending on patients' individual risk of recurrence.

Abstract
In light of the rising number of patients referred for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) due to suspected endometriosis and the high expectations of these patients, there is a need for new imaging guidelines to optimally protocol and indicate MRI and transvaginal ultrasonography (TVUS) examinations. This is crucial for accurately addressing the inquiries of gynecologists, encompassing complete mapping and preoperative staging, and facilitating effective communication with patients. In this context, the development of a standardized lexicon, as well as dedicated imaging classifications, is recommended to aid in the comprehensive management of patients. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: The radiologist should use a standardized lexicon and provide a score along with details about the specific compartments affected by endometriosis disease. This helps in offering clearer guidance to the surgeon. KEY POINTS: • An optimal staging is based on the combination of clinical examination, transvaginal US, and MRI. • MRI is able to detect location that is hidden at the beginning of a laparoscopic surgery and thus the need for dedicated MR classifications to correctly stage the disease. • Deep pelvic endometriosis index (dPEI) classification is externally validated and highly correlated with operating time, hospital stay, and postoperative complications.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Nuclear receptor corepressor 1(NCOR1) is reported to play crucial roles in cardiovascular diseases, but its function in the kidney has remained obscure. OBJECTIVE We aim to elucidate the role of collecting duct NCOR1 in blood pressure (BP) regulation. METHODS AND RESULTS Collecting duct NCOR1 knockout (KO) mice manifested increased BP and aggravated vascular and renal injury in an angiotensin II (Ang II)-induced hypertensive model. KO mice also showed significantly higher BP than littermate control (LC) mice in deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt model. Further study showed that collecting duct NCOR1 deficiency aggravated volume and sodium retention after saline challenge. Among the sodium transporter in the collecting duct, the expression of the three epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) subunits was markedly increased in the renal medulla of KO mice. Consistently, BP in Ang II-infused KO mice decreased significantly to the similar level as those in LC mice after amiloride treatment. ChIP analysis revealed that NCOR1 deficiency increased the enrichment of mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) on the promoters of the three ENaC genes in primary inner medulla collecting duct (IMCD) cells. Co-IP results showed interaction between NCOR1 and MR, and luciferase reporter results demonstrated that NCOR1 inhibited the transcriptional activity of MR. Knockdown of MR eliminated the increased ENaC expression in primary IMCD cells isolated from KO mice. Finally, BP was significantly decreased in Ang II-infused KO mice after treatment of MR antagonist spironolactone and the difference between LC and KO mice was abolished. CONCLUSIONS NCOR1 interacts with MR to control ENaC activity in the collecting duct and to regulate sodium reabsorption and ultimately BP. Targeting NCOR1 might be a promising tactic to interrupt the volume and sodium retention of the collecting duct in hypertension.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has exerted a global impact on both physical and mental health, and clinical populations have been disproportionally affected. To date, however, the mechanisms underlying the deleterious effects of the pandemic on pre-existing clinical conditions remain unclear. Here we investigated whether the onset of the pandemic was associated with an increase in brain/blood levels of inflammatory markers and MRI-estimated brain age in patients with chronic low back pain (cLBP), irrespective of their infection history. A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 56 adult participants with cLBP (28 'Pre-Pandemic', 28 'Pandemic') using integrated Positron Emission Tomography/ Magnetic Resonance Imaging (PET/MRI) and the radioligand [11C]PBR28, which binds to the neuroinflammatory marker 18 kDa Translocator Protein (TSPO). Image data were collected between November 2017 and January 2020 ('Pre-Pandemic' cLBP) or between August 2020 and May 2022 ('Pandemic' cLBP). Compared to the Pre-Pandemic group, the Pandemic patients demonstrated widespread and statistically significant elevations in brain TSPO levels (P =.05, cluster corrected). PET signal elevations in the Pandemic group were also observed when 1) excluding 3 Pandemic subjects with a known history of COVID infection, or 2) using secondary outcome measures (volume of distribution -VT- and VT ratio - DVR) in a smaller subset of participants. Pandemic subjects also exhibited elevated serum levels of inflammatory markers (IL-16; P <.05) and estimated BA (P <.0001), which were positively correlated with [11C]PBR28 SUVR (r's ≥ 0.35; P's < 0.05). The pain interference scores, which were elevated in the Pandemic group (P <.05), were negatively correlated with [11C]PBR28 SUVR in the amygdala (r = -0.46; P<.05). This work suggests that the pandemic outbreak may have been accompanied by neuroinflammation and increased brain age in cLBP patients, as measured by multimodal imaging and serum testing. This study underscores the broad impact of the pandemic on human health, which extends beyond the morbidity solely mediated by the virus itself.

Abstract
Different conditions may underlie gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) in children. The estimated prevalence of GIB in children is 6.4%, with spontaneous resolution in approximately 80% of cases. Nonetheless, the initial approach plays a pivotal role in determining the prognosis. The priority is the stabilization of hemodynamic status, followed by a systematic diagnostic approach. GIB can originate from either upper or lower gastrointestinal tract, leading to a broad differential diagnosis in infants and children. This includes benign and self-limiting disorders, alongside serious conditions necessitating immediate treatment. We performed a nonsystematic review of the literature, in order to describe the variety of conditions responsible for GIB in pediatric patients and to outline diagnostic pathways according to patients' age, suspected site of bleeding and type of bleeding which can help pediatricians in clinical practice. Diagnostic modalities may include esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy, abdominal ultrasonography or computed tomography and, when necessary, magnetic resonance imaging. In this review, we critically assess these procedures, emphasizing their respective advantages and limitations concerning specific clinical scenarios.

Abstract
Objectives The present study used publicly available genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data to perform three two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) studies, aiming to examine the causal links between gut microbiome and BCC, melanoma skin cancer, ease of skin tanning. Methods SNPs associated with exposures to basal cell carcinoma, melanoma skin cancer and ease of skin tanning from the genome-wide association study data of UK Biobank and MRC-IEU (MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit), and the meta-analysis data from Biobank and MRC-IEU were used as instrumental variables (IVs). The casual estimates were assessed with a two-sample Mendelian randomisation test using the inverse-variance-weighted (IVW) method, Wald ratio, MR-Egger method, maximum likelihood, weighted median, simple mode, and weighted mode. Results After the application of MR analysis, diffirent effects of multiple groups of gut microbiota was observed for BCC, melanoma skin cancer and ease of skin tanning. The relationships between the gut microbiome and BCC, melanoma skin cancer, ease of skin tanning were supported by a suite of sensitivity analyses, with no statistical evidence of instrument heterogeneity or horizontal pleiotropy. Further investigation is required to explore the relationship between between the gut microbiome and BCC, melanoma skin cancer, ease of skin tanning. Conclusion Our study initially identified potential causal roles between the gut microbiome and BCC, melanoma skin cancer, ease of skin tanning, and highlighted the role of gut microbiome in the progression of basal cell carcinoma, melanoma skin cancer, ease of skin tanning.

Abstract
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES According to the 2019 update of the Bosniak classification, the main imaging features that need to be evaluated to achieve a correct characterization of renal cystic masses include the thickness of walls and septa, the number of septa, the appearance of walls and septa, the attenuation/intensity on non-contrast CT/MRI and the presence of unequivocally perceived or measurable enhancement of walls and septa. Despite the improvement deriving from a quantitative evaluation of imaging features, certain limitations seem to persist and some possible scenarios that can be encountered in clinical practice are still missing. MATERIALS AND METHODS A deep analysis of the 2019 update of the Bosniak classification was performed. RESULTS The most notable potential flaws concern: (1) the quantitative measurement of the walls and septa; (2) the fact that walls and septa > 2 mm are always referred to as "enhancing", not considering the alternative scenario; (3) the description of some class II masses partially overlaps with each other and with the definition of class I masses and (4) the morphological variations of cystic masses over time is not considered. CONCLUSION The present paper analyzes in detail the limitations of the 2019 Bosniak classification to improve this important tool and facilitate its use in daily radiological practice.

Abstract
Introduction The objective of this study was to describe the CT and MRI features of sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation (SANT) of the spleen with pathologic correlation. Materials and Methods Ten patients with surgically resected and pathologically confirmed SANTs were included. Clinical history was reviewed, and gross pathologic, histologic, and immunohistochemical findings were recorded. CT and MRI examinations were evaluated by two radiologists. Results Patients included seven men and three women, with a mean age of 42.9±16.7 years. Pathologic features of SANTs involved multiple angiomatous nodules in a radiating pattern with a central stellate fibrous scar and evidence of hemosiderin deposition. 9 cases showed a lobulated demarcated margin, 8 cases a slight hypoattenuating, 1 isoattenuating, and 1 case with two lesions demonstrated a slight hyperattenuating margin, respectively. Multiple scattered punctate calcifications were involved in 2 cases. 5 cases manifested hypointensity on in-phase imaging, 1 iso-intensity, and 4 iso-hypointensity on out-of-phase imaging. Progressive and centripetal enhancement were exhibited in 10 cases, spoke-wheel pattern in 3 cases, and nodular enhancement in 4 cases, respectively. The central fibrous scar was identified in 8 cases during delayed enhancement. Conclusion Characteristics of SANTs on CT/MRI reflected the underlying pathology. Hypointensity on DWI and T2WI, and change of signal on T1 chemicalshift imaging were found to be due to hemosiderin deposition and fibrous tissue. Typical feature was a solitary, round, lobulated mass with a fibrous scar. Progressive and centripetal enhancement, spoke-wheel pattern, nodular enhancement, and delayed enhancement of central fibrous scar were observed.

Abstract
Objective To explore the potential value of magnetic resonance (MR) and computed tomography (CT) enterography in the diagnosis of small intestinal tumor (SIT). Methods Articles reporting on the diagnosis of SIT by MR and CT enterography deposited in Chinese and foreign literature databases were identified and evaluated using the quality assessment of diagnostic accuracy studies (QUADAS). The diagnostic data extracted from the articles were adopted for meta-analysis using Meta-disc 1.40 software. Analysis was undertaken to compare the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative likelihood ratios, and the diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) of MR and CT enterography in the diagnosis of SIT. The diagnostic values of the two imaging methods were analyzed by summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curves. The meta-analysis was registered at INPLASY (202380053). Results A total of eight articles, including 551 cases of SIT were included in this analysis. The pooled sensitivity and specificity of MR enterography were 0.92 (95% CI [0.89-0.95]) and 0.81 (95% CI [0.74-0.86]), respectively, whilst CT enterography had a sensitivity of 0.93 (95% CI [0.90-0.95]) and a specificity of 0.83 (95% CI [0.76-0.88]). For MR enterography, the combined positive likelihood ratio was 4.90 (95% CI [3.50-6.70]), the combined negative likelihood ratio was 0.10 (95% CI [0.07-0.14]), and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was 0.940. For CT enterography, the corresponding values were 5.40 (95% CI [3.90-7.40]), 0.08 (95% CI [0.06-0.12]), and 0.950, respectively. When the pretest probability for MR was assumed to be 50%, the posterior probabilities for positive and negative results were calculated as 83% and 9%, respectively. For CT enterography with a pretest probability of 50%, the posterior probabilities of positive and negative results were 84% and 8%, respectively. Conclusion MR and CT enterography have high accuracy in the diagnosis of SIT and have a valuable role in the diagnosis and management of these tumors.

Abstract
Objective To investigate the causal association between Osteoarthritis (OA) and five comorbidities: depression, tiredness, multisite chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and gout. Design This study used two-sample Mendelian Randomisation (MR). To select the OA genetic instruments, we used data from the largest recent genome-wide association study (GWAS) of OA (GO Consortium), with a focus on OA of the knee (62,497 cases, 333,557 controls), hip (35,445 cases, 316,943 controls) and hand (20,901 cases, 282,881 controls). Genetic associations for comorbidities were selected from GWAS for depression (246,363 cases, 561,190 controls), tiredness (449,019 participants), multisite chronic pain (387,649 participants), IBS (53,400 cases, 433,201 controls) and gout (6543 cases, 456,390 controls). We performed a bidirectional MR analysis using the inverse variance weighted method, for both joint specific and overall OA. Results Hip OA had a causal effect on multisite chronic pain (per unit change 0.02, 95% CI 0.01 to 0.04). Multisite chronic pain had a causal effect on knee (odd ratio (OR) 2.74, 95% CI 2.20 to 3.41), hip (OR 2.12, 95% CI 1.54 to 2.92), hand (OR 2.24, 95% CI 1.59 to 3.16) and overall OA (OR 2.44, 95% CI, 2.06 to 2.86). In addition, depression and tiredness had causal effects on knee and hand, but not hip, OA. Conclusions Apart from Hip OA to multisite chronic pain, other joint OA did not have causal effects on these comorbidities. In contrast, multisite chronic pain had a causal effect on any painful OA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND MRI-only radiotherapy planning (MROP) is beneficial to patients by avoiding MRI/CT registration errors, simplifying the radiation treatment simulation workflow and reducing exposure to ionizing radiation. MRI is the primary imaging modality for soft tissue delineation. Treatment planning CTs (i.e., CT simulation scan) are redundant if a synthetic CT (sCT) can be generated from the MRI to provide the patient positioning and electron density information. Unsupervised deep learning (DL) models like CycleGAN are widely used in MR-to-sCT conversion, when paired patient CT and MR image datasets are not available for model training. However, compared to supervised DL models, they cannot guarantee anatomic consistency, especially around bone. PURPOSE The purpose of this work was to improve the sCT accuracy generated from MRI around bone for MROP. METHODS To generate more reliable bony structures on sCT images, we proposed to add bony structure constraints in the unsupervised CycleGAN model's loss function and leverage Dixon constructed fat and in-phase (IP) MR images. Dixon images provide better bone contrast than T2-weighted images as inputs to a modified multi-channel CycleGAN. A private dataset with a total of 31 prostate cancer patients were used for training (20) and testing (11). RESULTS We compared model performance with and without bony structure constraints using single- and multi-channel inputs. Among all the models, multi-channel CycleGAN with bony structure constraints had the lowest mean absolute error, both inside the bone and whole body (50.7 and 145.2 HU). This approach also resulted in the highest Dice similarity coefficient (0.88) of all bony structures compared with the planning CT. CONCLUSION Modified multi-channel CycleGAN with bony structure constraints, taking Dixon-constructed fat and IP images as inputs, can generate clinically suitable sCT images in both bone and soft tissue. The generated sCT images have the potential to be used for accurate dose calculation and patient positioning in MROP radiation therapy.

Abstract
PURPOSE Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS) is a developmental disorder with venous hypertension and associated tissue responses including pial angiomatosis, cortical calcifications, and cerebral atrophy. Arterial spin-labeled (ASL) perfusion is an advanced MR sequence which can assess perfusion, without the need for contrast. We systematically evaluated the potential benefits of using ASL in Sturge-Weber syndrome, to determine the extent of intracranial perfusion abnormality and stage of disease, relevant for prognostication and surgical planning. METHODS Two pediatric neuroradiologists retrospectively evaluated ASL perfusion imaging of 31 children with confirmed SWS and recorded the presence of hyper-perfusion, hypo-perfusion, or normal perfusion. The presence and distribution of ASL abnormality were compared against the presence and side of atrophy/calcification and pial angiomatosis on standard MR sequences. RESULTS Thirty-one children (52% female, median age 16.7 months) with SWS had ASL imaging. Seven (23%) had hyper-perfusion, 15 (48%) had hypo-perfusion, and 9 (29%) had no perfusion abnormalities. ASL perfusion abnormality matched the location of SWS findings on conventional imaging in 86% (19/22). ASL demonstrated statistically significant increased perfusion in the early stage of the disease and decreased perfusion when there was atrophy. The parietal lobe was involved in 86% of cases. CONCLUSION ASL perfusion imaging is an advanced technique which may contribute to earlier diagnosis and more accurate prognostication of Sturge-Weber syndrome, helping guide management and potential surgical planning.

Abstract
Objectives: To propose an automated fast cochlear segmentation, length, and volume estimation method from clinical 3D multimodal images which has a potential role in the choice of cochlear implant type, surgery planning, and robotic surgeries. Methods: Two datasets from different countries were used. These datasets include 219 clinical 3D images of cochlea from 3 modalities: CT, CBCT, and MR. The datasets include different ages, genders, and types of cochlear implants. We propose an atlas-model-based method for cochlear segmentation and measurement based on high-resolution μCT model and A-value. The method was evaluated using 3D landmarks located by two experts. Results: The average error was 0.61 ± 0.22 mm and the average time required to process an image was 5.21 ± 0.93 seconds (P<0.001). The volume of the cochlea ranged from 73.96 mm3 to 106.97 mm3 , the cochlear length ranged from 36.69 to 45.91 mm at the lateral wall and from 29.12 to 39.05 mm at the organ of Corti. Discussion: We propose a method that produces nine different automated measurements of the cochlea: volume of scala tympani, volume of scala vestibuli, central lengths of the two scalae, the scala tympani lateral wall length, and the organ of Corti length in addition to three measurements related to A-value. Conclusion: This automatic cochlear image segmentation and analysis method can help clinician process multimodal cochlear images in approximately 5 seconds using a simple computer. The proposed method is publicly available for free download as an extension for 3D Slicer software.

Abstract
Strokes are one of the global leading causes of physical or mental impairment and fatality, classified into hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes. Ischemic strokes happen when a thrombus blocks or plugs an artery and interrupts or reduces blood supply to the brain tissue. Deciding on the imaging modality which will be used for stroke detection depends on the expertise and availability of staff and the infrastructure of hospitals. Magnetic resonance imaging provides valuable information, and its sensitivity for smaller infarcts is greater, while computed tomography is more extensively used, since it can promptly exclude acute cerebral hemorrhages and is more favorable speed-wise. The aim of this article was to give information about the neuroimaging modalities used for the diagnosis and monitoring of ischemic strokes. We reviewed the available literature and presented the use of computed tomography, CT angiography, CT perfusion, magnetic resonance imaging, MR angiography and MR perfusion for the detection of ischemic strokes and their monitoring in different phases of stroke development.

Abstract
Neuroimaging studies investigating the association between mental fatigue (henceforth fatigue) and brain physiology have identified many brain regions that may underly the cognitive changes induced by fatigue. These studies focused on the functional changes and functional connectivity of the brain relating to fatigue. The structural correlates of fatigue, however, have received little attention. To fill this gap, this study explored the associations of fatigue with cortical thickness of frontal and parietal regions. In addition, we aimed to explore the associations between reward-induced improvement in performance and neuroanatomical markers in fatigued individuals. Thirty-nine healthy volunteers performed the psychomotor vigilance task for 15 min (i.e., 3 time-on-task blocks of 5 min) out of scanner; followed by an additional rewarded block of the task lasting 5 min. Baseline high-resolution T1-weigthed MR images were obtained. Reaction time increased with time-on-task but got faster again in the rewarded block. Participants' subjective fatigue increased during task performance. In addition, we found that higher increase in subjective mental fatigue was associated with the cortical thickness of the following areas: bilateral precuneus, right precentral gyrus; right pars triangularis and left superior frontal gyrus. Our results suggest that individual differences in subjective mental fatigue may be explained by differences in the degree of cortical thickness of areas that are associated with motor processes, executive functions, intrinsic alertness and are parts of the default mode network.

Abstract
Coronary artery disease (CAD) affects millions of individuals worldwide and results in a substantial burden to healthcare systems. Although it is established that CAD affects females differently than males, differences between the sexes are not routinely accounted for. Body mass index is a known risk factor for CAD. However, more accurate metrics of body fat, including waist-to-hip circumference ratio (WHR), could be more meaningful clinically. WHR exhibits sex differences due to sex hormones, differing effects at genetic risk loci, and other factors. It is unclear if WHR is a causal factor for CAD in one or both sexes, but this information will be crucial for improving heart health. Causal inference, however, can be challenging. Large-scale cohorts with genetic data allow for Mendelian randomization, which, given certain assumptions, tests whether there is a causal relationship between an exposure and the outcome using genetic variants. We conducted sex-specific, one-sample MR analyses using two-stage least-squares regression in the UK Biobank with genetic variants robustly associated with WHR. We found evidence of a causal relationship between WHR and CAD risk in females (OR [95% CI] = 1.16 [1.06-1.26]; p value = 7.5E-4), whereas in males, we did not find evidence of a causal relationship (OR [95% CI] = 1.40 [0.98-2.01]; p value = 0.063). Results were supported by two additional MR approaches (using a genetic risk score and two-sample MR using the inverse variance weighted approach). We encourage future work assessing sex-specific effects using causal inference techniques to better understand factors contributing to complex disease risk.

Abstract
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a lethal disease characterized by dense stroma. Obesity is an important metabolic factor that greatly increases PDAC risk and mortality, worsens progression and leads to poor chemotherapeutic outcomes. With omics analysis, magnetic resonance and near-infrared fluorescence (MR/NIRF) dual-modality imaging and molecular functional verification, obesity as an important risk factor is proved to modulate the extracellular matrix (ECM) components and enhance Fibronectin (FN) infiltration in the PDAC stroma, that promotes tumor progression and worsens response to chemotherapy by reducing drug delivery. In the study, to visually evaluate FN in vivo and guide PDAC therapy, an FN-targeted nanoprobe, NP-CREKA, is synthesized by conjugating gadolinium chelates, NIR797 and fluorescein isothiocyanate to a polyamidoamine dendrimer functionalized with targeting peptides. A dual-modality strategy combining MR and NIRF imaging is applied, allowing effective visualization of FN in orthotopic PDAC with high spatial resolution, ideal sensitivity and excellent penetrability, especially in obese mice. In conclusion, the findings provide new insights into the potential of FN as an ideal target for therapeutic evaluation and improving treatment efficacy in PDAC, hopefully improving the specific management of PDAC in lean and obese hosts.

Abstract
Atrial myxoma is the most common benign cardiac tumor, which can present with diverse symptoms. Systemic embolism is a frequent complication, affecting up to one-third of cases and frequently involving cerebral arteries. However, cardiac myxoma-induced myocardial infarction (MI) is rare. We report a case of a 56-year-old man presenting with predominant neurological symptoms and an unexplained elevation of hs-Trop T without clinical signs of acute MI. Computerized tomography of the head showed no acute lesions, but subsequent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed multiple small ischemic lesions and old microhemorrhage foci. A comprehensive cardiovascular investigation was performed. Ultrasonography revealed a left atrial mass. Cardiac MRI confirmed the mass was an atrial myxoma, and showed many old infarctions and scarring lesions in the cardiac muscle. The patient underwent tumor resection, but residual motor-neurological deficits were observed. This case emphasizes the importance of cardiac MRI in the diagnosis of multiple focal infarctions attributed to coronary embolism.

Abstract
Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Multiple-System Atrophy are entities within the spectrum of atypical parkinsonism. The role of imaging methods in the diagnosis and differentiation between PSP and MSA is limited and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is currently used as a reference modality. In this study, the authors examined a group of patients with atypical parkinsonism using a 1.5 T MRI system and aimed to find simple and repeatable measurements that may be useful to distinguish between these diseases. The results of the study indicate that the maximal width of the frontal horns of the lateral ventricles and Evans' Index may, to some extent, be useful as basic and simple measurements in the diagnostic imaging of patients with atypical parkinsonism.

Abstract
Despite the large-scale diagnostic and therapeutic progress of recent years, the heterogeneity and therapeutic management of adult primary malignant brain tumors pose a significant challenge to the attending physician. Based on the research and experience accumulated over the past two decades, the range of patients who can benefit the most from complex oncology treatment has been outlined, and it has been confirmed that a reliable complex diagnostic background is essential for adequate therapeutic management. However, after some necessary therapeutic steps, the "gold standard" magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is not always able to accurately assess and diagnose post-therapeutic conditions. Thanks to the collaboration of the nuclear medicine and neuro-oncology professions, more and more types of radiotracer compounds are now available in more and more centers, including amino acid ligands and thus, positron emission tomography (PET) examinations with the radiopharmaceutical O-(2-[18F]fluoroethyl)-L-tyrosine. The metabolic state, as a kind of fourth dimension of imaging, is an essential part of adequate modern diagnostics. Combining advanced MRI techniques and PET-based (PET/CT, PET/MRI) measurements with a suitable tracer can place therapeutic decisions on a reliable basis. We present the clinical significance of amino acid-PET-based hybrid nuclear medicine imaging studies in the therapeutic management of these patients by reviewing the literature data on the practice of the method in Hungary and abroad and presenting the results of our retrospective summary research so far. Abstract
BACKGROUND the objective of this study is to evaluate the predictive power of the survival model using deep learning of diffusion-weighted images (DWI) in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). METHODS DWI at b-values of 0, 100, and 700 sec/mm2 (DWI0, DWI100, DWI700) were preoperatively obtained for 100 NSCLC patients who underwent curative surgery (57 men, 43 women; mean age, 62 years). The ADC0-100 (perfusion-sensitive ADC), ADC100-700 (perfusion-insensitive ADC), ADC0-100-700, and demographic features were collected as input data and 5-year survival was collected as output data. Our survival model adopted transfer learning from a pre-trained VGG-16 network, whereby the softmax layer was replaced with the binary classification layer for the prediction of 5-year survival. Three channels of input data were selected in combination out of DWIs and ADC images and their accuracies and AUCs were compared for the best performance during 10-fold cross validation. RESULTS 66 patients survived, and 34 patients died. The predictive performance was the best in the following combination: DWI0-ADC0-100-ADC0-100-700 (accuracy: 92%; AUC: 0.904). This was followed by DWI0-DWI700-ADC0-100-700, DWI0-DWI100-DWI700, and DWI0-DWI0-DWI0 (accuracy: 91%, 81%, 76%; AUC: 0.889, 0.763, 0.711, respectively). Survival prediction models trained with ADC performed significantly better than the one trained with DWI only (p-values < 0.05). The survival prediction was improved when demographic features were added to the model with only DWIs, but the benefit of clinical information was not prominent when added to the best performing model using both DWI and ADC. CONCLUSIONS Deep learning may play a role in the survival prediction of lung cancer. The performance of learning can be enhanced by inputting precedented, proven functional parameters of the ADC instead of the original data of DWIs only.

Abstract
Background and purpose In our collaborative project, called MRI First!, every patient arriving with neurological symptoms of acute stroke and without contraindications was examined by MRI. Our aim was to detect the symptomatic lesions, to obtain appropriate information about the brain parenchyma and to analyse parenchymal perfusion and brain vasculature. . Methods The examinations were conducted on a Philips Ingenia 1.5 Tesla scanner with the following protocol: DWI-ADC, FLAIR, T2 FFE/SWI, PWI, and contrast-enhanced MRA. 415 patients were examined between January 2020 and May 2021. 179 patients arrived within-, and 136 patients after 4.5 hours symptoms onset time, while 100 patients had “wake-up” stroke. . Results Within the 4.5 hours group, 81 cases had acute ischemic lesion, 48 of them received reperfusion therapy. Acute ischemic lesion was found in 64 patients in the wake-up stroke group and in 64 in the 4.5-24 hours group. In these groups 10 and 12 patients obtained reperfusion therapy, respectively. Further 117 cases were considered as stroke mimics, in which cases unnecessary intravenous thrombolysis was avoidable. . Conclusion MRI is accepted as a sensitive diagnostic modality providing detailed information regarding the brain parenchyma, its perfusion and vasculature. Nonetheless, its worldwide utilization in acute stroke is low and further information should be collected on which patient groups would gain the most benefit from acute MR imaging. Our continuous work is aimed at that goal. .

Abstract
(1) The aim of this study was to perform an evaluation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and present the morphological differences of the TMJ between healthy subjects and patients with PD. (2) A total of 102 Caucasian subjects were divided equally into two groups. The study group consisted of patients with PD, while the control group comprised healthy subjects. Ten parameters, including anterior joint space (AJS), superior joint space (SJS), posterior joint space (PJS), condyle head length (CHL), condylar neck width (CNW), minor axis of the condyle (MAC), long axis of the condyle (LAC), condylar axis inclination (CI), medial joint space (MJS), and lateral joint space (LJS), were measured using magnetic resonance images. The data were statistically analyzed using paired samples t-test and Student's t-test, with a significance level set at p < 0.05. (3) In the PD group, all TMJ parameters showed a statistically significant difference between both sides of the face (p < 0.05). However, in the control group, AJS, SJS, PJS, CHL, CNW, MAC, CI, MJS, and LJS did not show a statistically significant difference between both sides of the face (p > 0.05), except for LAC (p < 0.05). The asymmetry index values of AJS, SJS, PJS, CHL, CNW, MAC, CI, MJS, and LJS demonstrated a statistically significant difference between the study and control groups (p < 0.05), except for LAC (p > 0.05). (4) Within the limitations of this retrospective study, the findings suggest that TMJ morphology and asymmetry could be associated with PD.

Abstract
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of blindness in older adults. Investigating shared genetic components between metabolites and AMD can enhance our understanding of its pathogenesis. We conduct metabolite genome-wide association studies (mGWASs) using multi-ethnic genetic and metabolomic data from up to 28,000 participants. With bidirectional Mendelian randomization analysis involving 16,144 advanced AMD cases and 17,832 controls, we identify 108 putatively causal relationships between plasma metabolites and advanced AMD. These metabolites are enriched in glycerophospholipid metabolism, lysophospholipid, triradylcglycerol, and long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid pathways. Bayesian genetic colocalization analysis and a customized metabolome-wide association approach prioritize putative causal AMD-associated metabolites. We find limited evidence linking urine metabolites to AMD risk. Our study emphasizes the contribution of plasma metabolites, particularly lipid-related pathways and genes, to AMD risk and uncovers numerous putative causal associations between metabolites and AMD risk.

Abstract
Background Morning Report (MR) is a ubiquitous traditional educational activity in internal medicine residency training. It is under-researched; hence, this study was conducted. It aimed to examine the practice of MR by internal medicine residents, their motivation to engage with it, and their perception of its contribution to education. Methods This was a multi-center cross-sectional study. The data was collected using an online self-administered 12-item questionnaire that covered MR practice, respondents' motivation for participation, MR contribution to education, and its impact on the practice of evidence-based medicine and quality improvement and patient safety. Results One hundred seventy residents returned the online questionnaire (54.7%). The respondents' gender and year of training were balanced (P > 0.05). The most common MR frequency and duration were five days per week (85.4%) and 45-60 minutes (47.1%), respectively. The most common format was handover combined with an emergency long case presentation (55.8%), and consultants were the most common facilitators (79.7%). The respondents' motivation to engage with MR was predominantly intermediate. The top reasons for attending and not attending MR were mandatory attendance and embarrassing questions, respectively. The perceived MR contribution to residents' different roles development was predominantly intermediate; however, it was predominantly very low/low (42%) for overall education. The perceived MR impact on the practice of EBM and QIPS were both predominantly intermediate. Conclusion MR was found to be a commonly practiced educational activity in internal medicine residency training programs in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The case discussion was the core format for education. The respondents' motivation to participate in MR and their perception of its contribution to education was predominantly intermediate. To our best knowledge, this is the first study in Saudi Arabia that examined MR. We hope its findings will be taken for further MR studies and actions for improvement.

Abstract
MATERIALS Patients with alcoholic acute pancreatitis in our hospital were recruited from Jan 2019 to July 2022 and divided into IAAP and RAAP groups. All patients underwent Contrast-Enhanced Computerized Tomography (CECT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) after administration. Imaging manifestations, local complications, severity scores on the Modified CT/MR Severity Index (MCTSI/MMRSI), Extrapancreatic Inflammation on CT/MR (EPIC/M), clinical severity [Bedside Index for Severity in Acute Pancreatitis (BISAP) Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE-II)], and clinical prognosis were compared between the two groups. Results: 166 patients were recruited for this study, including 134 IAAP (male sex 94%) and 32 RAAP patients (male sex 100%). On CECT or MRI, IAAP patients were more likely to develop ascites and Acute Necrosis collection (ANC) than RAAP patients (ascites:87.3%vs56.2%; P = .01; ANC:38%vs18.7%; P < .05). MCTSI/MMRSI and EPIC/M scores were higher in IAAP than in RAAP patients(MCTSI/MMRSI:6.2vs5.2; P < .05; EPIC/M:5.4vs3.8; P < .05).Clinical severity scores (APACHE-II and BISAP), length of stay, and systemic complications [Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS), respiratory failure] were higher in the IAAP group than in the RAAP group (P < .05). No mortality outcomes were reported in either group while hospitalized.Conclusions: Patients with IAAP had more severe disease than those with RAAP. These results may be helpful for differentiating care paths for IAAP and RAAP, which are essential for management and timely treatment in clinical practice.

Abstract
Our purpose was to investigate the utility of 18F-FDG PET/MRI and serial blood work to detect early inflammatory responses and cardiac functionality changes at 1 mo after radiation therapy (RT) in patients with left-sided breast cancer. Methods: Fifteen left-sided breast cancer patients who enrolled in the RICT-BREAST study underwent cardiac PET/MRI at baseline and 1 mo after standard RT. Eleven patients received deep-inspiration breath-hold RT, whereas the others received free-breathing RT. A list-mode 18F-FDG PET scan with glucose suppression was acquired. Myocardial inflammation was quantified by the change in 18F-FDG SUVmean (based on body weight) and analyzed on the basis of the myocardial tissue associated with the left anterior descending, left circumflex, or right coronary artery territories. MRI assessments, including left ventricular functional and extracellular volumes (ECVs), were extracted from T1 (before and during a constant infusion of gadolinium) and cine images, respectively, acquired simultaneously during the PET acquisition. Cardiac injury and inflammation biomarker measurements of high-sensitivity troponin T, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate were measured at the 1-mo follow-up and compared with preirradiation values. Results: At the 1-mo follow-up, a significant increase (10%) in myocardial SUVmean in left anterior descending segments (P = 0.04) and ECVs in slices at the apex (6%) and base (5%) was detected (P ≤ 0.02). Further, a significant reduction in left ventricular stroke volume (-7%) was seen (P < 0.02). No significant changes in any circulating biomarkers were seen at follow-up. Conclusion: Myocardial 18F-FDG uptake and functional MRI, including stroke volume and ECVs, were sensitive to changes at 1 mo after breast cancer RT, with findings suggesting an acute cardiac inflammatory response to RT.

Abstract
Schizophrenia is a chronic debilitating psychiatric disorder with significant morbidity and mortality. In this study, we used information from 337,484 UK Biobank participants and performed PheWAS using schizophrenia genetic risk score on 1135 disease outcomes. Signals that passed the false discovery rate threshold were further analyzed for evidence on the causality of the association. We extended the analysis to 30 serum, four urine, and six neuroimaging biomarkers to identify biomarkers that could be affected by schizophrenia. Schizophrenia GRS was associated with 54 (39 distinct) disease outcomes including schizophrenia in the PheWAS analysis. Of these, a causal association were found with 10 distinct diseases in the MR analysis. Schizophrenia causally linked with higher odds of anxiety (OR = 1.41, 95%CI 1.12 to 1.21), bipolar disorder (OR = 1.52, 95%CI 1.36 to 1.70), major depressive disorder (OR = 1.12, 95%CI 1.08 to 1.16) and suicidal ideation (OR = 1.30, 95%CI 1.19 to 1.42). Lower odds were found for several diseases including type 1 diabetes, coronary atherosclerosis and some musculoskeletal disorders. In analyses using biomarkers, schizophrenia was associated with lower serum 25(OH)D, gamma glutamyltransferase, cystatin C, serum creatinine. However, we did not find association with any of the brain imaging markers. Our analyses confirmed the co-existence of schizophrenia with other mental health disorders but did not otherwise suggest strong effects on disease risk. Biomarker analyses reflected associations which could be explained by unhealthy lifestyles, suggesting patients with schizophrenia may benefit from screening for and managing broader health aspects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND DWI and ADC-mapping was performed to analyze hepatic metastasis of GIST, GEP-NET. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study is to present hepatic metastasis of GIST and GEP-NET with Diffusion weighted MR imaging(DWI) and the Apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) values of masses. METHOD 18 GIST patients and 8 GEP-NET patients were examined retrospectively. 11 males and 6 females were present in GIST group, 7 males to 5 females were involved in GEP-NET group. 18 primary GIST and 10 hepatic metastasis of GIST, 8 original GEP-NET and 19 hepatic metastasis of GEP-NET; total 55 GIST and GEP-NET masses were analysed by ADC mapping. MR images were acquired by 1,5 T MR units (32 mT/min gradient strength- Achieva; Philips Healthcare, Best, Netherlands and 32 channel GE Signa GE-Wisconsin-USA); by using a 4-8 channel standard phased-array torso XL coil, all images were evaluated by an Abdominal MRI experienced radiologist. DWI was performed in the transverse plane by using spin-echo-planar imaging sequence. RESULT No statistical differences were observed between GIST and GEP-NET patients according to age and gender variations. No significant statistical differences were observed according to the diameters and ADC values of GIST and GEP-NET patients. A significant statistical difference was observed between GIST and GEP-NET groups in terms of size of liver metastasis which was significantly higher in GIST patients. All three groups (GIST_Hep. MET, GEP-NET_Liver_Met and normal) were statistically differed according to ADC values. With the ROC curve analysis: Hepatic metastasis of GIST(n=10) and normal liver (n:47) had cut-off value for ADC: 0.925 under AUC: 0.939 with regard to ADC values and regarded 89.4 % Sensitivity, 100% Specificity, 100% PPV and 66.7% PPV. ROC curve of GEP NET_ Hepatic metastasis (n=19) group and normal liver (n:47) group presented cut-off value for ADC: 0.860 under AUC: 0.967 correlated to ADC values with 93.6 % sensitivity, 89.5% specificity, 95.7% PPV and 85% PPV. CONCLUSION High cellular tumors resulted from liver metastasis of GIST and GEP-NET's, and a positive correlation was observed between ADC values and cellularity/differentiation ratios of metastatic masses.

Abstract
Simultaneous positron emission tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (PET-MRI) combines the anatomical detail and tissue characterization of MRI with the functional information from PET. Within the coronary arteries, this hybrid technique can be used to identify biological activity combined with anatomically high-risk plaque features to better understand the processes underlying coronary atherosclerosis. Furthermore, the downstream effects of coronary artery disease on the myocardium can be characterized by providing information on myocardial perfusion, viability, and function. This review will describe the current capabilities of PET-MRI in coronary artery disease and discuss the limitations and future directions of this emerging technique. Abstract
BACKGROUND In patients with increasing PSA and suspicion for prostate cancer, but previous negative biopsies, PET/MRI is used to test for tumours and target potential following biopsy. We aimed to determine different PSMA PET timing effects on signal kinetics and test its correlation with the patients' PSA and Gleason scores (GS). METHODS A total of 100 patients were examined for 900 s using PET/MRI approximately 1-2 h p.i. depending on the tracer used (68Ga-PSMA-11, 18F-PSMA-1007 or 18F-rhPSMA7). The scans were reconstructed in static and dynamic mode (6 equal frames capturing "late" PSMA dynamics). TACs were computed for detected lesions as well as linear regression plots against time for static (SUV) and dynamic (SUV, SUL, and percent injected dose per gram) parameters. All computed trends were tested for correlation with PSA and GS. RESULTS Static and dynamic scans allowed unchanged lesion detection despite the difference in statistics. For all tracers, the lesions in the pelvic lymph nodes and bones had a mostly negative activity concentration trend (78% and 68%, resp.), while a mostly positive, stronger trend was found for the lesions in the prostate and prostatic fossa following RPE (84% and 83%, resp.). In case of 68Ga-PSMA-11, a strong negative (Rmin = - 0.62, Rmax = - 0.73) correlation was found between the dynamic parameters and the PSA. 18F-PSMA-1007 dynamic data showed no correlation with PSA, while for 18F-rhPSMA7 dynamic data, it was consistently low positive (Rmin = 0.29, Rmax = 0.33). All tracers showed only moderate correlation against GS (Rmin = 0.41, Rmax = 0.48). The static parameters showed weak correlation with PSA (Rmin = 0.24, Rmax = 0.36) and no correlation with GS. CONCLUSION "Late" dynamic PSMA data provided additional insight into the PSMA kinetics. While a stable moderate correlation was found between the PSMA kinetics in pelvic lesions and GS, a significantly variable correlation with the PSA values was shown depending on the radiotracer used, the highest being consistently for 68Ga-PSMA-11. We reason that with such late dynamics, the PSMA kinetics are relatively stable and imaging could even take place at earlier time points as is now in the clinical routine.

Abstract
Quantitative diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is an important adjunct to conventional breast MRI and shows promise as a noninvasive biomarker of breast cancer in multiple clinical scenarios, from the discrimination of benign and malignant lesions, prediction, and evaluation of treatment response to a prognostic assessment of breast cancer. Various quantitative parameters are derived from different DWI models based on special prior knowledge and assumptions, have different meanings, and are easy to confuse. In this review, we describe the quantitative parameters derived from conventional and advanced DWI models commonly used in breast cancer and summarize the promising clinical applications of these quantitative parameters. Although promising, it is still challenging for these quantitative parameters to become clinically useful noninvasive biomarkers in breast cancer, as multiple factors may result in variations in quantitative parameter measurements. Finally, we briefly describe some considerations regarding the factors that cause variations.

Abstract
Infarcts and ischemia of abdominal organs may present with acute abdominal pain, and early diagnosis is crucial to prevent morbidity and mortality. Unfortunately, some of these patients present in poor clinical conditions to the emergency department, and imaging specialists are crucial for optimal outcomes. Although the radiological diagnosis of abdominal infarcts is often straightforward, it is vital to use the appropriate imaging modalities and correct imaging techniques for their detection. Additionally, some non-infarct-related abdominal pathologies may mimic infarcts, cause diagnostic confusion, and result in delayed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. In this article, we aimed to outline the general imaging approach, present cross-sectional imaging findings of infarcts and ischemia in several abdominal organs, including but not limited to, liver, spleen, kidneys, adrenals, omentum, and intestinal segments with relevant vascular anatomy, discuss possible differential diagnoses and emphasize important clinical/radiological clues that may assist radiologists in the diagnostic process.

Abstract
Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is a malformation of cortical development characterised by disruption of cortical cytoarchitecture. Classification of FCDs subtypes has initially been based on correlation of the histopathology with relevant clinical, electroencephalographic and neuroimaging features. A recently proposed classification update recommends a multilayered, genotype-phenotype approach, integrating findings from histopathology, genetic analysis of resected tissue and presurgical MRI. FCDs are caused either by single somatic activating mutations in MTOR pathway genes or by double-hit inactivating mutations with a constitutional and a somatic loss-of-function mutation in repressors of the signalling pathway. Mild malformation with oligodendroglial hyperplasia in epilepsy is caused by somatic pathogenic SLC35A2 mutations. FCDs most often present with drug-resistant focal epilepsy or epileptic encephalopathy. Most patients respond to surgical treatment. The use of mechanistic target of rapamycin inhibitors may complement the surgical approach. Treatment approaches and outcomes have improved with advances in neuroimaging, neurophysiology and genetics, although predictors of treatment response have only been determined in part.

Abstract
Epidemiological studies have linked particulate matter (PM2.5) to gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). However, the causality of this association has not been established; Mendelian randomization was carried out using summary data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS). For the analysis of the causal relationship between PM2.5 and GDM, the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method was used. The exposure data came from a GWAS dataset of IEU analysis of the United Kingdom Biobank phenotypes consisting of 423,796 European participants. The FinnGen consortium provided the GDM data, which included 6033 cases and 123,000 controls. We also performed multivariate MR (MVMR), adjusting for body mass index (BMI) and smoking. As a result, we found that each standard deviation increase in PM2.5 is associated with a 73.6% increase in the risk of GDM (OR: 1.736; 95%CI: 1.226-2.457). Multivariable MR analysis showed that the effect of PM2.5 on GDM remained after accounting for BMI and smoking. Our results demonstrate a causal relationship between PM2.5 and GDM.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To evaluate the utility of 68Ga-DOTATATE and 18F-FDG PET/MR for prediction of grade and stage of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs), and to examine the correlation between parameters obtained from FDG PET and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) MR parameters. METHODS A retrospective study using 68Ga-DOTATATE and 18F-FDG PET/MR imaging was performed between April 2020 and May 2022 on 46 individuals with histologically confirmed PNETs. Metabolic tumor volume (MTV), maximum standardized uptake value (FSUVmax), and tumor lesion glycolysis (TLG) for FDG; somatostatin receptor density (SRD), maximum standardized uptake value (GSUVmax), and total lesion somatostatin receptor density (TLSRD) for DOTATATE; and minimum and mean apparent diffusion coefficient (ADCmin and ADCmean) values for MRI, respectively. We performed Spearman's correlation analysis to examine the links between these variables and primary tumor stage and grading. RESULTS Higher PNET grading was associated with higher FSUVmax, MTV, and TLG values (P < 0.05). TLG, SRD, ADCmin, and ADCmean values were correlated with N staging, while SRD, MTV, ADCmin, TLG, and ADCmean were associated with M staging. Notably, ADCmin was a negative correlation between FSUVmax (r = - 0.52; P < 0.001), MTV (r = - 0.50; P < 0.001), and TLG (r = - 0.56; P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS This study highlights significant correlative relationships between FDG PET-derived parameters and ADCmin. ADCmin may offer utility as a tool for PNET staging and grading in lieu of FDG PET. 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/MR alone may be a sufficient alternative to dual tracer PET/MR when conducting grading and staging of primary PNETs.

Abstract
The European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) is the European specialist society of cardiac and vascular imaging. This society's highest priority is the continuous improvement, development, and standardization of education, training, and best medical practice, based on experience and evidence. The present intra-society consensus is based on the existing scientific evidence and on the individual experience of the members of the ESCR writing group on carotid diseases, the members of the ESCR guidelines committee, and the members of the executive committee of the ESCR. The recommendations published herein reflect the evidence-based society opinion of ESCR. The purpose of this second document is to discuss suggestions for standardized reporting based on the accompanying consensus document part I. KEY POINTS: • CT and MR imaging-based evaluation of carotid artery disease provides essential information for risk stratification and prediction of stroke. • The information in the report must cover vessel morphology, description of stenosis, and plaque imaging features. • A structured approach to reporting ensures that all essential information is delivered in a standardized and consistent way to the referring clinician.

Abstract
The European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) is the European specialist society of cardiac and vascular imaging. This society's highest priority is the continuous improvement, development, and standardization of education, training, and best medical practice, based on experience and evidence. The present intra-society consensus is based on the existing scientific evidence and on the individual experience of the members of the ESCR writing group on carotid diseases, the members of the ESCR guidelines committee, and the members of the executive committee of the ESCR. The recommendations published herein reflect the evidence-based society opinion of ESCR. We have produced a twin-papers consensus, indicated through the documents as respectively "Part I" and "Part II." The first document (Part I) begins with a discussion of features, role, indications, and evidence for CT and MR imaging-based diagnosis of carotid artery disease for risk stratification and prediction of stroke (Section I). It then provides an extensive overview and insight into imaging-derived biomarkers and their potential use in risk stratification (Section II). Finally, detailed recommendations about optimized imaging technique and imaging strategies are summarized (Section III). The second part of this consensus paper (Part II) is focused on structured reporting of carotid imaging studies with CT/MR. KEY POINTS: • CT and MR imaging-based evaluation of carotid artery disease provides essential information for risk stratification and prediction of stroke. • Imaging-derived biomarkers and their potential use in risk stratification are evolving; their correct interpretation and use in clinical practice must be well-understood. • A correct imaging strategy and scan protocol will produce the best possible results for disease evaluation.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of preoperative cross-sectional imaging findings using the SAR-AGA definitions in Crohn's disease (CD) patients who underwent ileocolic resection (ICR) with and without surgically complex ileocolic CD (CIC-CD). METHODS 69 CD patients [38 men; mean (± SD) age: 40.6 (16.2) years] who underwent ICR were retrospectively classified by surgical complexity by a colorectal surgeon using operative findings. CIC-CD was defined as ileal CD, not confined to the distal ileum. Two radiologists retrospectively evaluated the preoperative imaging for the presence and type of penetrating disease, stricture, or probable stricture using the SAR-AGA consensus definitions. The diagnostic performance of preoperative imaging findings was compared for patients with and without CIC-CD. Estimated blood loss (EBL), operative time (OT), conversion to open surgery, diversion, and length of hospital stay (LOS) were compared. RESULTS 60.9% had CIC-CD and 79.7% underwent primary ICR. Penetrating disease was more common in patients with than without CIC-CD (76.2% vs. 40.7%, p = 0.0048) and similar among primary versus redo ICR (p = 0.12). Patients with CIC-CD had more complex fistulas (59.5% vs. 11.1%; p < 0.0001) and fewer simple fistulas (2.4% vs. 18.5%; p = 0.03) than those without. Mesenteric findings (abscess, inflammatory mass) were more frequent in patients with (35.7%) than without (0%) (p = 0.0002) CIC-CD. Stricture and probable stricture were similar (p = 0.59). CIC-CD patients had greater EBL (178 cc vs. 57 cc, p = 0.006), conversion rates (30% vs. 0%, p = 0.0026), and diversion (80% vs. 52%, p = 0.04). CONCLUSION Complex fistula, mesenteric abscess, or inflammatory mass defined by the SAR-AGA guidelines suggests CIC-CD. ICR for CIC-CD had greater EBL, conversion to open surgery, and diversion.

Abstract
The mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) belongs to the steroid receptor subfamily of nuclear receptors. MR is a transcription factor key in regulating blood pressure and mineral homeostasis. In addition, it plays an important role in a broad range of biological and pathological conditions, greatly expanding its interest as a pharmacological target. Non-steroidal MR antagonists (MRAs) are of particular interest to avoid side effects and achieve tissue-specific modulation of the receptor. The 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) ring has been identified as an appropriate scaffold to develop non-steroidal MRAs. We report the identification of a novel series of 1,4-DHP that has been guided by structure-based drug design, focusing on the less explored DHP position 2. Interestingly, substituents at this position might interfere with MR helix H12 disposition, which is essential for the recruitment of co-regulators. Several of the newly synthesized 1,4-DHPs show interesting properties as MRAs and have a good selectivity profile. These 1,4-DHPs promote MR nuclear translocation with less efficiency than the natural agonist aldosterone, which explains, at least in part, its antagonist character. Molecular dynamic studies are suggestive of several derivatives interfering with the disposition of H12 in the agonist-associated conformation, and thus, they might stabilize an MR conformation unable to recruit co-activators.

Abstract
Artificial intelligence has been entering medical research. Today, manufacturers of diagnostic instruments are including algorithms based on neural networks. Neural networks are quickly entering all branches of medical research and beyond. Analyzing the PubMed database from the last 5 years (2017 to 2021), we see that the number of responses to the query "neural network in medicine" exceeds 10,500 papers. Deep learning algorithms are of particular importance in oncology. This paper presents the use of neural networks to analyze the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images used to determine MRI relaxometry of the samples. Relaxometry is becoming an increasingly common tool in diagnostics. The aim of this work was to optimize the processing time of DICOM images by using a neural network implemented in the MATLAB package by The MathWorks with the patternnet function. The application of a neural network helps to eliminate spaces in which there are no objects with characteristics matching the phenomenon of longitudinal or transverse MRI relaxation. The result of this work is the elimination of aerated spaces in MRI images. The whole algorithm was implemented as an application in the MATLAB package.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to investigate the application value of multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of iron deposition in the substantia nigra dense zone in Parkinson's disease (PD) and to evaluate the diagnostic value of the correlation among multi-parametric imaging indicators, clinical stage, and disease duration. Materials and methods Thirty-six patients with clinically confirmed PD and 36 healthy controls were enrolled. The disease course was recorded, and PD severity was graded using the Hoehn-Yahr (H-Y) scale. All subjects underwent magnetic sensitivity weighted imaging (SWI), neuromelanin magnetic resonance imaging (NM-MRI), and a T2*mapping sequence. Based on the fusion of the NM-MRI and SWI amplitude maps, phase maps, and T2*MAPPING value maps, NM-MRI was used to delineate the dense zone of the substantia nigra, which was divided into three sub-regions: upper, middle, and lower. In this way, the amplitude, phase, and R2* values of each sub-region and the average value of the sum of the three sub-regions were obtained simultaneously in the SWI amplitude, phase, and T2*MAPPING maps. The multi-parameter imaging indices were compared between the two groups, and the correlation between them and clinical indices was evaluated in the PD group. Results The upper (amplitude, phase value, R2* value), middle, and lower (amplitude) right substantia nigra compact zones were significantly different between the PD and control groups. The upper (phase value, R2* value) and middle (amplitude) areas of the left substantia nigra compact zone were also significantly different between the two groups (all P < 0.05). The mean values (amplitude, phase value, R2* value) of the right substantia nigra densification zone and the mean values (phase value) of the left substantia nigra densification zone were also significantly different (all P < 0.05). Amplitudes in the middle and lower parts of the right substantia nigra dense zone were negatively correlated with the H-Y grade (middle: r = -0.475, P = 0.003; lower: r = -0.331, P = 0.049). Amplitudes of the middle and lower parts of the dense zone of the left substantia nigra were negatively correlated with the H-Y grade (middle: r = -0.342, P = 0.041; lower: r = -0.399, P = 0.016). The average amplitude of the right substantia nigra compact zone was negatively correlated with the H-Y grade (r = -0.367, P = 0.027). The average R2* value of the compact zone of the left substantia nigra was positively correlated with the H-Y grade (r = 0.345, P = 0.040). Conclusion Multiparametric MRI sequence examination has application value in the evaluation of iron deposition in the dense zone of the substantia nigra in PD. Combined with NM-MRI, fusion analysis is beneficial for accurately locating the substantia nigra compact zone and quantitatively analyzing the iron deposition in different sub-regions. Quantitative iron deposition in the middle and lower parts of the substantia nigra dense zone may become an imaging biological indicator for early diagnosis, severity evaluation, and follow-up evaluation of PD and is thus conducive for clinical diagnosis and treatment evaluation.
