[Efficacy and safety of intermediate-dose cytarabine in the treatment of children with refractory high risk Langerhans cell histiocytosis]. Abstract
Objective: To analyze the efficacy, safety, and long-term prognosis of intermediate-dose cytarabine (Ara-c) regimen in the treatment of children with refractory risk organ involvement Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH). Methods: Clinical data of 17 children with multisystem and risk organ involvement LCH who failed the first-line therapy and were treated with intermediate-dose Ara-c (250 mg/m2, twice daily) regimen in the Hematology Center, Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2013 to December 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. In addition to the basic treatment of vindesine and dexamethasone, the patients received two regimens: regimen A: the intermediate-dose Ara-c combined with cladribine and regimen B: the intermediate-dose Ara-c alone. The efficacy, safety and prognosis of the two regimens were analyzed. Results: Among all 17 patients, there were 11 males and 6 females, with the diagnosis age of 2.1 (1.6, 2.7) years. Ten children received regimen A, all of them achieved active disease-better (AD-B) after 8 courses of induction therapy. The disease activity scores (DAS) decreased from 5.5 (3.0, 9.0) to 1.0 (0, 2.3). Seven children received regimen B, and 6 of them achieved AD-B after 8 courses of induction therapy. The DAS decreased from 4.0 (2.0, 4.0) to 1.0 (0, 2.0). The follow-up time was 6.2 (4.9,7.2) and 5.2 (3.7,5.8) years in group A and B. The 5-year overall survival rate was 100.0% in both groups, and the 5-year event free survival rate was (88.9±10.5)% and (85.7±13.2)% in group A and B. Grade 3 or 4 myelosuppression was observed in 8 patients in group A and 2 patients in group B. Conclusions: The intermediate-dose Ara-c regimen (with or without cladribine) is effective and safe for patients with refractory high-risk LCH, with a good long-term prognosis.

Abstract
As the development of rehabilitation medicine and critical care medicine, intensive care rehabilitation has become the focus of attention. With the development of artificial intelligence, wearable devices and non-contact multimodal behavior perception devices can collect and transmit patients' vital signs continuously, and establish large databases and formulate rehabilitation strategies intelligently. Wearable devices, exoskeleton robots, position management beds, rehabilitation robots, virtual reality can be used in the implementation of rehabilitation in ICU. The whole process rehabilitation mode which combined intelligent rehabilitation with sequential remote home management might be a new work mode of intensive care rehabilitation in the future.

Abstract
A highly efficient aerobic denitrifying microbe was isolated from sewage sludge by using a denitrifier enrichment strategy based on decreasing carbon content. The microbe was identified as Pseudomonas mendocina HITSZ-D1 (hereafter, D1). Investigation of the conditions under which D1 grew and denitrified revealed that it performed good growth and nitrate removal performance under a wide range of conditions. In particular, D1 rapidly removed all types of inorganic nitrogen without accumulation of the intermediate products nitrite and nitrous oxide. Overall, D1 showed a total nitrogen removal efficiency >96% at a C/N ratio of 8. The biotransformation modes and fates of three typical types of inorganic nitrogen were also assessed. Moreover, D1 had significantly higher denitrification efficiency and enzyme activities than other aerobic denitrifying microbes (Paracoccus denitrificans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Pseudomonas putida). These results suggest that D1 has great potential for treating wastewater containing high concentrations of nitrogen.

Abstract
The regulation of bacterial quorum sensing (QS) has been used to inhibit biofouling in wastewater treatment plants and the formation of biofilms. In contrast to traditional QS regulation strategies, this study aimed to obstruct the transmembrane transport process of QS signals to decrease their extracellular accumulation. Three phytochemicals, astragaloside IV, eugenol, and baicalin were selected, their effects on biofilm formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA14 were studied, and the mechanisms determined. The inhibition efficiency of biofilm formation by 50 mg/L astragaloside IV, 1 mg/L eugenol, and 1 mg/L baicalin were 37%, 26%, and 26%, respectively. Confocal laser scanning microscopy and analysis of extracellular polymeric substances indicated that the three inhibitors affected the structure and composition of the biofilms. Furthermore, bacterial motility and a variety of QS-related virulence factors were suppressed by the inhibitor treatment due to changes in bacterial QS. Notably, the three inhibitors all decreased the extracellular concentration of the QS signaling molecule 3-oxo-C12-homoseine lactone by affecting the function of efflux pump MexAB-OprM. This indirectly interfered with the bacterial QS system and thus inhibited biofilm formation. In conclusion, this study revealed the inhibitory effects and inhibition mechanism of three phytochemicals on efflux pump and QS of P. aeruginosa and realized the inhibition on biofilm formation. We update the efflux pump inhibitor library and provide a new way for biofilm contamination control.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the influencing factors of healthy life expectancy (HLE). Methods: Seven Chinese and English databases were used for the retrieval of related literatures published by May 7, 2022 to identify influencing factors of HLE, including diseases and injuries and their risk factors. Based on the ecological model of health determinants, this study classifies the risk factors of diseases and injuries into five levels: personal characteristics, individual behavior and lifestyle, social network, living and working conditions, and macroscopic socio-economic, cultural and environmental conditions. Contents of research area, HLE indicators, research population, influencing factors, data sources and results were extracted. The frequencies of reported documents of different HLE indicators and influencing factors of different dimensions were visualized by using evidence map, and the empirical studies of four authoritative English medical journals and Chinese core medical journals were further compared and described. Results: A total of 90 studies were selected, in which 26 were conducted in China (28.9%). Fifty-three studies are about diseases and injuries in the first dimension, and all of them have studied non-communicable diseases, accounting for the highest proportion (58.9%). There were 77 studies about the analysis on the determinants of health at five levels by an ecological model, all the studies reported multi-level results. Among them, 53 studies reported personal characteristics (58.9%), 47 studies reported individual behavior and lifestyle (52.2%), 10 studies reported social networks (11.1%), 35 studies reported living and working environment (38.9%), 8 studies reported social economy, culture status and environment condition (8.9%). The literatures about HLE published by 4 authoritative English medical journals and 21 Chinese core medical journals in recent three years were selected. Non-communicable diseases and personal characteristics were the top two most commonly studied factors of HLE, and 11 (52.3%) and 12 (57.1%) studies reported these two kinds of factors respectively. The most important factor contributing to the global disability-adjusted life years of non-communicable diseases was individual behavior and lifestyle, which was the most changeable factor. Conclusions: In recent three years, studies involving influencing factors of HLE were mainly non-communicable diseases and personal characteristics. In the future, individual behavior, lifestyle and working environment should be strengthened.

By analyzing the epidemiology of parasitic diseases in Yunnan Province, the remarkable achievements of parasitic diseases control in China and Yunnan Province, cases with parasitic disease misdiagnosis, parasitologists ' selfless contributions, the contributions of traditional Chinese medicines to parasitic diseases control and the contributions of traditional Chinese medicines in Yunnan Province, the ideological and political education is naturally integrated into Medical Parasitology teaching, to create an educational model combining professional course teaching with ideological and political education curriculum.

[Epidemiological characteristics of Yersinia enterocolitica in patients with diarrhea from 2013 to 2019 in Pudong New Area, Shanghai]. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of Yersinia enterocolitica in patients with diarrhea in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Methods: Active surveillance of diarrhea was conducted in 14 sentinel hospitals (three tertiary-level hospitals, nine secondary-level hospitals, and two primary-level hospitals) from January 2013 to December 2019 in Pudong New Area of Shanghai, China base on their location, catchment area, and patient volume. Cold enrichment method was used to isolate Y. enterocolitica and further detection of bioserotype, virulence genes and antimicrobial susceptibility of the isolates were conducted. The difference of rates was determined using chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. Results: A total of 12 941 diarrhea cases were included, and 0.7% (88/12 941) cases were confirmed with Yersinia enterocolitica infection. 67.0% (59/88) cases were single infection, 33.0% (29/88) cases were mixed infections. Detection rates of Y. enterocolitica increased annually (0.3%-1.2%) and were highest in children<5 years of age (1.1%, 37/3 218) and in spring (1.1%, 32/2 998) (χ2 were 18.64 and 9.76, respectively, P<0.05). 58.0% (51/88) cases had watery diarrhea, 15.9% (14/88) had fever and 14.8% (13/88) had vomiting. The predominant bioserotypes were 3/O:3 (53.4%, 47/88), followed by 1A/O:8 (15.9%, 14/88) and 1A/O:5(6.8%, 6/88), respectively. Bioserotype 3/O:3 counted for the highest proportions (89.2%, 33/37) in children <5 years of age. All the strains of bioserotype 3/O:3 harbored ail, ystA, yadA and virF genes, which encoded pathogenic Y. enterocolitica. 11/14 strain of 1A/O:8 and 4/6 strains of 1A/O:5 harbored ystB gene. Most strains were resistant to ampicillin (80.7%,71/88) and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (71.6%,63/88), and 63.8% (56/88) strains were multidrug resistance (MDR). The difference of antimicrobial resistance rates between 3/O:3 and non 3/O:3 was statistically significant in ampicillin, cefoxitin, nalidixic acid, tetracycline and ampicillin/sulbactam (χ2 was 14.68, 43.80, 41.86, 30.54 and 5.07, respectively, P<0.05). Conclusion: The detection rate of Yersinia enterocolitica was higher in children than in adults in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. The predominant bioserotype was pathogenic 3/O:3 with multidrug resistance.

Abstract
Current research focused on developing multiple active species in peroxymonosulfate (PMS) system to degrade contaminants, but deepening concern lacks over why cooperation of those active species facilitated a faster degradation. Here, we employed Co3O4, rGO and Co3O4@rGO composite to activate PMS for tetracycline (TC) degradation, and detected crucial factors toward highest performance of Co3O4@rGO/PMS system. Batch experiments exhibited a satisfactory TC degradation efficiency under Co3O4@rGO/PMS, complete degraded 50 mg/L TC within 20 min. Analytical tests discovered that radical active species generated by Co3O4/PMS and non-radical species by rGO/PMS were successfully co-existed in Co3O4@rGO/PMS system, significantly improving the performance of TC removal. Subsequently, a combination of density functional theory (DFT) calculation and intermediates analysis revealed that, in Co3O4@rGO/PMS system, the cooperation rather than independent effect of radical and non-radical active species expanded TC degradation pathways, enhancing the degradation performance. Furthermore, decent adaptability, stability, and recyclability toward affecting factors variation of Co3O4@rGO/PMS demonstrated it as a potent and economical system to degrade TC. Overall, this study developed a novel Co3O4@rGO/PMS system with a cooperative oxidation pathway for highly efficient TC removal, and managed to clarify why this oxidation pathway achieved high efficiency through a combination of theoretical and experimental method.

Abstract
Water environmental pollution caused by spent batteries is a nonignorable environmental issue. In this study, the early life stage of zebrafish was employed to assess the environmental risk of spent batteries after exposure to 0, 1%, 2%, 5% and 10% spent battery extract for 120 h. Our results clearly indicated that spent battery extract can significantly decrease the survival rate, hatching rate and body length and increase heart rate. Moreover, spent battery extract exposure-induced zebrafish larvae generate oxidative stress and inhibit the mRNA transcriptional levels of heat shock protein (HSP70) and metallothionein (MT) genes. These results showed that the spent batteries not only affected the survival and development performance of zebrafish at an early life stage but also caused oxidative stress and interfered with the detoxification of zebrafish. This study provided novel insight into spent battery induced toxicity in the early life stage of fish.

Abstract
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most malignant digestive system tumors. In the recent decade, the effect of diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer has improved due to the renewal of treatment concept and the popularization of effective treatment. However, the overall efficacy of pancreatic cancer is still dismal and the 5-year survival rate is only about 10%. Further improving the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer is the top priority of oncology research and clinical practice. Based on past clinical and scientific research experience, the authors have proposed ten hot spots and future directions for a reference, which focusing on early prevention, early diagnosis, and early treatment of pancreatic cancer, molecular typing and precise treatment, new drug development and regimen combination, surgical technology and strategy change, model establishment and database development, as well as innovation of traditional Chinese medicine and breakthrough of treatment concept. A breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer in the next ten years is raising hope, when doctors can truly prevent and control pancreatic cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the difference of concentrations of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) derived from fatty acids in eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (ECRSwNP) and non-eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (nECRSwNP). Methods: A total of 36 patients with bilateral chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) who underwent endoscopic nasal surgeries in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from May 2019 to September 2020 were enrolled, including 27 males and 9 females, with the age from 13 to 67 years. There were 23 cases of ECRSwNP and 13 cases of nECRSwNP. At the same time, 12 control subjects were enrolled. The concentrations of multiple SPMs, including lipoxins (LXA4 and LXB4), resolvins (RvD1, RvD2, RvD3, RvD5 and RvE1), protectins (PDX) and maresins (Mar-1) in nasal polyps with different histological subtypes and normal nasal mucosa were analyzed using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The concentrations of SPMs between groups were compared using Mann-Whitney U test. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was used to measure the correlation between the concentrations of SPMs in nasal polyps and tissue eosinophil counts. Results: The concentrations of RvD2, RvD3, RvD5, LXA4, LXB4, Mar-1 and PDX in ECRSwNP group were significantly higher than that in controls (Z value was -2.276, -2.313, -3.371, -2.094, -2.051, -3.104 and -2.294, respectively, all P<0.05). The concentrations of RvD2, RvD5, Mar-1 and PDX in ECRSwNP group were significantly higher than those in nECRSwNP group (Z value was -2.175, -2.289, -2.243 and -2.124, respectively, all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in all these SPMs between nECRSwNP and controls (all P>0.05). The concentrations of RvD2, RvD3, RvD5, LXB4, Mar-1 and PDX in nasal polyps correlated positively with tissue eosinophil counts (r value was 0.443, 0.436, 0.371, 0.502, 0.340 and 0.386, respectively, all P<0.05). Conclusions: A varienty of SPMs are elevated in ECRSwNP. Dysregulation of fatty acid metabolism might play an important role in the chronic inflammation of ECRSwNP.

Ricania cacaonis Chou et Lu, 1977 is redescribed and transferred to genus Ricanula. Ricanula pulverosa (Stl, 1865) is re-illustrated.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the histopathological and hematological changes in reoperation of recurrent chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Methods: A total of 41 patients with CRSwNP who underwent two consecutive endoscopic sinus surgeries in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from February 1999 to April 2019 were included retrospectively, including 25 males and 16 females, aged (40.7±13.6) years at the former surgery and (47.0±13.2) years at the recurrent surgery. The peripheral blood cell count results were collected. Differential inflammatory cells in nasal polyp tissue sections were counted and characteristics of tissue remodeling were scored. Paired t test was used to compare the hematological and histological data of the two surgeries in the same cohort. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was used to determine the correlation between tissue and peripheral blood eosinophil contents. Results: In histopathological tissue sections of nasal polyps, the mean tissue eosinophil, lymphocyte and total inflammatory cell counts per high power field significantly decreased (54.04±34.67 vs 76.97±65.59, 35.27±16.61 vs 50.01±26.94, 128.88±41.32 vs 176.38±80.59, t value was 2.413, 2.923, 3.445, respectively, all P<0.05), whereas the percentages of different inflammatory cell types remained unchanged when comparing the recurrent surgery with the former surgery. There was a significant reduction of basement membrane thickness and goblet cell hyperplasia score in the recurrent surgery (1.29±0.84 vs 2.00±0.84, 1.81±1.31 vs 2.44±1.10, t value was 5.367, 2.714, respectively, all P<0.05). Subgroup analysis suggested that changes in asthmatic cases, younger cases and cases without previous surgery were more remarkable than non-asthmatics, older cases and cases with previous surgery, respectively. There was no significant change in peripheral white blood cell counts and differential cell percentages, except a small increase of blood monocyte percentage. Correlation analysis showed that tissue eosinophil content correlated positively with blood eosinophil content at each surgery. Conclusions: In the recurrent surgery of CRSwNP, tissue eosinophil, lymphocyte and total inflammatory cell counts decrease significantly compare with that of the former surgery. The histological inflammatory load decreases with improvement of tissue remodeling, which could be attributed to the integrated treatment with surgery and medications.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the effects of different intervention strategies for the management of residual dizziness following successful canalith repositioning procedure (CRP) in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Methods: A total of 129 BPPV patients with residual dizziness following successful CRP were recruited during January 2019 and July 2019. They were randomly assigned into three groups with 43 cases in each group: the vestibular rehabilitation group received rehabilitation training for four weeks; betahistine group was given orally 12 mg betahistine three times a day for four weeks; and the control group had no specific treatment. The primary outcomes were daily activities and social participation assessed by the Vestibular Activities and Participation measure (VAP). Secondary outcomes includedbalance function assessed by sensory organization test (SOT) and the duration of residual symptoms. Stata15.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: The scores of VAP in the three groups decreased over time, but a more significant decrease was found in vestibular rehabilitation group. Further paired comparison showed that the difference between the vestibular rehabilitation group and the control group was of statistical significance (B=-3.88, χ2=18.29, P<0.01), while the difference between the betahistine group and the control group was not statistically significant (B=-0.96, χ2=1.16, P=0.28). The balance function of the three groups showed a trend of recovery over time, with no significant differences between groups (χ2=1.37, df=2, P>0.05). The median duration of residual dizziness for both vestibular rehabilitation and betahistine groups was 14 days, while that of control group was 19 days, with no significant difference between three groups[Log-rank (Mantel-Cox) test; χ2=1.82, df=2, P=0.40]. Conclusion: Vestibular rehabilitation can significantly improve the daily activities and social participation function in BPPV patients with residual symptoms following successful CRP, but its effects on shortening the duration of residual symptoms and promoting the recovery of balance function remain uncertain.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the correlation between the clinical features of low-frequency sudden deafness and endolymphatic hydrops on gadolinium contrast in the inner ear. Methods: From July 2019 to January 2020, adult patients with unilateral low-frequency sudden deafness who were hospitalized in the outpatient clinic or ward of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Eye and ENT Hospital of Fudan University were selected and examined by audiology and gadolinium magnetic resonance (MR) angiography of inner ear. The same treatment plan was given, and the curative effect was recorded and followed up for more than 3 months. SPSS 20.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between the accompanying symptoms, deafness, and endolymphatic hydrops. Results: A total of 48 patients were included in the study, including 18 males and 30 females. The age ranged from 21 to 52 (37.3±10.0) years. All of them were unilateral, including 28 cases of left ear and 20 cases of right ear. The course of the disease was less than 2 weeks in all cases. The endolymphatic hydrops group included 14 cases, including vestibular hydrocele (6 cases), cochlear hydrops (2 cases), and cochlear and vestibular hydrops (6 cases). The incidence of dizziness in the endolymphatic hydrops group was higher than that in the non-hydrops group (6/14 vs 0/34, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in hearing values between the two groups at 125, 250, 500, 4 000 and 8 000 Hz (all P>0.05). The hearing in the endolymphatic hydrops group was worse than that in the non-hydrops group at 1 000 and 2 000 Hz. Conclusion: Compared with those without endolymphatic hydrops, patients with hydrops tend to have a higher incidence of dizziness, worse hearing at 1 000 and 2 000 Hz, and a worse prognosis.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of bone marrow mononuclear cell transplantation on the expression of miRNA-21 and miRNA-155 in mice with ulcerative colitis(UC). Methods: Healthy and clean KM mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into transplantation group, model group and normal control group with 15 mice in each group. In the transplantation group and model group, dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) was used to establish the model for 24 h. The mice in the transplantation group were injected with 0.4 ml of 4 ', 6-diaminol-2-phenylindole (DAPI) -labeled P3-BM-MNCs cell suspension (3.2×10(6) cells/ml), and the mice in the model group and the normal control group were injected with 0.4 ml phosphate buffer (PBS).UC disease activity index (DAI) was used to test the general condition of mice; HE staining was used to observe the pathological changes of colon tissue; Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression of miRNA-21 and miRNA-155 mRNA. Results: DAI scores of normal control group, model group and transplantation group were 0 (0,1), 3.1 (2.8,3.3) and 2.7 (2.4,3.1),respectively. Compared with normal control group, the DAI score of model group and transplantation group was higher (P<0.05), and the DAI score of transplantation group was lower than that of model group (P<0.05). The gross scores of tissue injury in normal control group, model group and transplantation group were 0 (0, 1), 3 (3, 4) and 1 (1, 2), respectively,and the pathological scores of tissue injury were 0 (0, 1), 16 (12, 16) and 6 (6, 8), respectively,compared with the normal control group. The tissue injury score of the model group and the transplantation group was higher (P<0.05), and the tissue injury score of the transplantation group was lower than that of the model group (P<0.05). The expression levels of miRNA-21 mRNA in normal control group, model group and transplantation group were 0.87±0.15, 2.38±0.29 and 1.59±0.32, respectively, and the expression levels of miRNA-155 mRNA were 1.87±0.46, 7.38±1.97 and 3.92±0.84, respectively, compared with the normal control group, the expression of miRNA-21 and miRNA-155 mRNA in the model group and transplantation group was higher (P<0.01), the expression of miRNA-21 and miRNA-155 mRNA in the transplantation group was lower than that of the model group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Bone marrow mononuclear cell transplantation can improve the histopathological and DAI scores of mice with UC, which may be related to the down-regulation of miRNA-21 and miRNA-155 mRNA expression.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the application of pulmonary ultrasound in the diagnosis of neonatal COVID-19. Methods: In this retrospective study, the clinical data of 5 infants, who were admitted to the Department of Neonatology in Wuhan Children's Hospital from 31(st) January to 25(th) February 2020, were collected. Bedsides pulmondary ultrasound was conducted on admission, during the hospitalization, and before discharge, the result were compared with the chest X-ray or CT done at the same time. Results: Among the 5 cases who aged 1-18 days, 3 were male. The main clinical manifestations were respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms. The pulmonary ultrasonography on admission showed abnormal pleural line and pulmonary edema of different severity in all 5 cases, presented as increase and fusion of B-line, and pulmonary interstitial syndrome; among them, one case also had a small-range consolidation. The chest CT on admission showed no obvious parenchymal infiltration in 2 cases, small strip or patchy high-density shadow in 2 cases, and ground glass change in one case. The re-examination of ultrosound during the hospitalization and at discharge showed improvement in all cases and were consistent with the chest X-ray taken at the same time. Conclusions: The main changes on the pulmonary ultrasonography in neonates with COVID-19 pneumonia are increase and fusion of B-line, abnormal pleural line, and alveolar interstitial syndrome, and may coexist with small range of pulmonary consolidation. The sensitivity of pulmonary ultrasound is higher than that of chest X-ray and CT in the diagnosis of pulmonary edema, and could be used in monitoring and evaluation of the disease.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence of Demodex infection among students in Kunming Medical University, and identify the factors affecting Demodex infections, so as to provide the evidence for the development of the strategy for the prevention of Demodex infections. METHODS A total of 1 463 students from Grade 2014 who studied Medical Parasitology in Kunming Medical University were included in the survey. Demodex was examined in students'facial skin using the cellophane tape method, and the species was identified using microscopy. The students'gender, ethnicity, place of origin and skin type were captured using a questionnaire survey. RESULTS The overall prevalence of Demodex infections was 19.07% (279/1 463) on the facial skin among the university students, and a higher prevalence was seen in girls (21.16%, 183/865) than in boys (16.05%, 96/598) (χ2 =5.965,P <0.05).TheprevalenceofDemodex infectionswas18.33%(66/360)amongminorethnicstudents,andnoethnicity-specific prevalence was seen (P > 0.05). Demodex folliculorum was the predominant species, with a prevalence of 50.54% (141/279), and mild infections were predominant among all infections (96.77%, 270/279), without severe infections seen. Multivariate nonconditional logistic regression analysis revealed that gender and roommates with Demodex infections were risk factors of Demodex infections, and the infection was not associated with ethnicity, place of origin or skin type. There were only 2.53% (37/1 463) of the subjects understanding the knowledge pertaining to the prevention and control of Demodex infection. CONCLUSIONS A relatively low prevalence of Demodex infection is detected in the facial skin of students from Kunming Medical University, and Demodex infection is associated with gender and roommates with Demodex infections. Health education pertaining to the prevention of Demodex infections is suggested to be intensified among university students.

Abstract
The sediments of water bodies are not only pollutants sink but also sources of pollution. The assessment for the whole-sediment toxicity is still challenging research. Although the application of immobilized algal bead could overcome the practical difficulties in sediment toxicity assay, the weak growth and reduced sensitivity of algae inside the bead restricted its application. In this study, a sediment toxicity test was developed using immobilized sediment and Chlorella vulgaris. The immobilized sediment was prepared by mixing 2 g freeze-dried sediment and 15-mL 3% (w/v) alginate and hardened in a 4% (w/v) CaCl2 solution. Based on a C. vulgaris growth inhibition test and using the immobilized sediment, the median effective concentration value (EC50) of the spiked Cu and diuron was 506.23 and 2.37 mg/kg respectively, lower than that of using immobilized algae (719.62 and 3.12 mg/kg respectively). The Cu and diuron concentrations in the corresponding overlying water from the spiked immobilized and free sediment showed that sediment pollutants' diffusion capacity was not decreased after immobilization. By using the immobilized sediment in algae toxicity bioassay, the changes in the sediment toxicity of a polluted river before and after dredging was evaluated. The C. vulgaris growth inhibition in sediment A decreased from 81.94% to 8.43%; sediment B remained unchanged; sediment C stimulated the growth of C. vulgaris before dredging (-15.56%), but inhibited the algae growth after dredging (26.88%), and sediment D decreased growth inhibition from 32.66% to -12.60%.

Abstract
We investigated the emission of multi-MeV γ-Ray beams with orbital angular momentum (OAM) from the interaction of an intense circularly polarized (CP) laser with a micro-channel plasma target. The driving laser can generate high energy electrons via direct laser acceleration within the channel. By attaching a plasma foil as the reflecting mirror, the CP laser is reflected and automatically colliding with the electrons. High energy gamma-photons are emitted through inverse Compton scattering (ICS) during collision. Three-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations reveal that the spin angular momentum (SAM) of the CP laser can be transferred to the OAM of accelerated electrons and further to the emitted gamma-ray beam. These results may guide future experiments in laser-driven gamma-ray sources using micro-structures.

Abstract
CONTEXT Calenduloside E (CE), one of the primary natural products found in Aralia elata (Miq.) Seem. (Araliaceae), possesses prominent anti-apoptotic potential. A previous study found that one of the anti-apoptotic CE targets is heat shock protein 90 AB1 (Hsp90AB1) by probe CE-P, while the other targets of CE still need to be identified with more efficient probes. OBJECTIVE This study investigates CE analogue (CEA) as one clickable activity-based probe for use in exploring anti-apoptotic CE targets. MATERIALS AND METHODS Pretreatment of HUVECs with CEA (1.25 μM) for 8 hr, followed by ox-LDL stimulation for 24 h. Flow cytometry analysis and JC-1 staining assays were performed The kinetic constant measurements were tested by the Biacore T200, CM5 Sensor Chip which was activated by using sulpho-NHS/EDC. Ligands were dissolved and injected with a concentration of 12.5, 6.25, 3.125, 1.56, 0.78 and 0 μM. RESULTS CEA was confirmed to possess an anti-apoptotic effect. The probable targets of CE/CEA were calculated, and as one of the higher scores proteins (Fit values: 0.88/0.86), Hsp90 properly got our attention. Molecular modelling study showed that both CE and CEA could bind to Hsp90 with the similar interaction, and the docking scores (S value) were -7.61 and -7.33. SPR assay provided more evidence to prove that CEA can interact with Hsp90 with the KD value 11.7 µM. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that clickable probe CEA could alleviate ox-LDL induced apoptosis by a similar mechanism of anti-apoptotic CE, and afforded the possibility of identifying additional anti-apoptotic targets of CE.

Abstract
There is a clinical need for new bronchodilator drugs in asthma, because more than half of asthmatic patients do not receive adequate control with current available treatments. We report that inhibition of metallothionein-2 protein expression in lung tissues causes the increase of pulmonary resistance. Conversely, metallothionein-2 protein is more effective than β2-agonists in reducing pulmonary resistance in rodent asthma models, alleviating tension in tracheal spirals, and relaxing airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs). Metallothionein-2 relaxes ASMCs via transgelin-2 (TG2) and induces dephosphorylation of myosin phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1). We identify TSG12 as a nontoxic, specific TG2-agonist that relaxes ASMCs and reduces asthmatic pulmonary resistance. In vivo, TSG12 reduces pulmonary resistance in both ovalbumin- and house dust mite-induced asthma in mice. TSG12 induces RhoA phosphorylation, thereby inactivating the RhoA-ROCK-MYPT1-MLC pathway and causing ASMCs relaxation. TSG12 is more effective than β2-agonists in relaxing human ASMCs and pulmonary resistance with potential clinical advantages. These results suggest that TSG12 could be a promising therapeutic approach for treating asthma.

[Study on safety of adjuvant radiotherapy concurrent with weekly chemotherapy for stage ⅡB-ⅣA esophageal carcinoma after radical resection]. Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the tolerability and short-term efficacy of chemo-radiotherapy in 125 patients with stage ⅡB-ⅣA esophageal carcinoma after radical resection. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the rate of completion, toxicity and survival of patients undergoing adjuvant concurrent chemo-radiotherapy after radical resection of esophageal carcinoma from January 2004 to December 2014 in our institution. The survival rate was determined by the Kaplan-Meier method and analyzed using the log-rank test. Multivariate prognostic analysis was performed using the Cox proportional hazard model. Results: 122 patients received more than 50 Gy dose (97.6%). A total of 52 patients received more than 5 weeks chemo-radiotherapy (41.6%), while 73 patients underwent only 1-4 weeks (58.4%). The median following up was 48.4 months. 8 patients lost follow up (6.4%). The 1-year and 3-year overall survival rate were 91.6% and 57.0%, respectively, with a median survival time of 64.4 months. The 1-year and 3-year disease free survival rate were 73.2% and 54.3%, respectively, with a median disease free survival time of 59.1 months. The most common acute complications associated with chemo-radiotherapy were myelosuppression, radiation esophagitis and radiation dermatitis, the majority of which were Grade 1-2. Of the 125 patients, there were 59 cases of recurrence, including 23 cases with local regional recurrence, 26 cases with hematogenous metastasis, and 8 cases with mixed recurrence. Univariate analysis showed that the numbers of concurrent chemotherapy was associated with the overall survival (P=0.006). But receiving more than 5 weeks was not the prognostic factor compared to 1 to 4 weeks chemotherapy (P=0.231). Multivariate analysis showed that only the numbers of concurrent chemotherapy was an independent prognostic factor (P=0.010). Conclusions: Postoperative radiotherapy concurrent with weekly chemotherapy could improve the overall survival and decrease the recurrence for stage ⅡB-ⅣA esophageal carcinoma after radical resection. However, the completion rate of chemotherapy was low, so it was necessary to explore reasonable regimens to improve the completion rate and carry out prospective randomized controlled trial.

[Evaluation of the safety and effect of the endoscopic stapes surgery: a multi-center study]. Abstract
Objective: To analyze the safety of endoscopic stapes surgery, and to compare the results with stapes surgery under microscopic approach. Methods: This was a retrospective study. One hundred and thirty seven patients from Eye Ear Nose and Throat Hospital of Fudan University and other seven hospitals were enrolled in this study. Eighty eight patients, in whom 29 were male, and 59 were female, aged from 29 to 66 years old, with an average of 40.1±10.7, underwent endoscopic stapedotomy and 49 patients, in whom 17 were male, and 33 were female, aged from 32 to 64 yeas old, with an arerage of 38.7±9.2, underwent microscopic stapedotomy for otosclerosis. Interventions included endoscopic and microscopic stapes surgeries. Main outcome measures consisted of operating time, preoperative and postoperative hearing, intraoperative findings, and postoperative complications. SPSS 16.0 software was used to analyzed the date (t test and χ(2) test) . Results: Patients in the group who underwent endoscopic stapes surgery showed a mean operative time of (74.1±26.0) min. Patients in the group treated by microscopic approach had a mean operative time (66.5±15.9) min. Statistical difference was evident (t=1.279, P<0.05) . The average operative time of endoscopic surgery became shorter as the cases increased. The average duration of the last 10 cases was shorter than that of the first 10 cases in both groups. The differences were significant (t value was 3.028, 3.610, both P<0.05). No statistical difference was found in air conduction threshold improvement (t=1.074, P=0.289) , air-bone gap closure (t=-0.135, P=0.893) and bone conduction improvement (t=1.222, P=0.228) between the two groups. No difference regarding the incidence of the postoperative complications (chorda tympanum damage: 6 cases vs 2 cases, χ(2)=0.08,P>0.05; vertigo:18 cases vs 9 cases,χ(2)=0.09, P>0.05; facial paralysis: 0 case vs 0 case) between the two groups was found. Conclusion: Audiological outcomes achieved by endoscopic surgery are similar to the results obtained through a microscopic approach. Endoscopic stapes surgery is safe.

Abstract
Objective: The role of planned neoadjuvant radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy in the non-radical resection of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was unclear. The study aimed to evaluate their therapeutic effect and analyze the prognostic factors. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who received neoadjuvant radio therapy (33 patients) and concurrent chemoradiotherapy (119 patients) from January 2004 to December 2016 in our single-institution database.The survival rates were calculated by Kaplan-Meier method. The prognostic factors were analyzed by using Log rank test and Cox proportional hazards model. Results: The median follow-up was 29.8 months. One hundred and one patients survived more than 3 years. The rates of overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) at 3 years were 63.9% and 55.6%, respectively.The rates of complete, partial and minimal pathological response of the primary tumor were 50.3%, 38.4%, 11.3%, the corresponding 3-year OS were 75.5%, 57.4%, 27.3% (P<0.001) and 3-year DFS were 72.0%, 44.7%, 17.6% (P<0.001), respectively.The postoperative lymph node metastasis rate was 27.0%. The 3-year OS and DFS of the lymph node positive group was 45.6% and 32.8%, significantly lower than 70.8% and 63.7% of the negative group (both P<0.001). The 3-year OS and DFS of pathologic stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, ⅢA, ⅢB and Ⅵ A were 76.2%, 57.4%, 64.7%, 35.0%, 33.3% (P<0.001) and 70.1%, 49.3%, 41.2%, 22.1%, 33.3% (P<0.001), respectively.The operation-related mortality was 3.3%. Multivariate analysis showed that chest pain, postoperative respiratory failure, pathological differentiation, more than 15 lymph node dissection and ypTNM stage were the independent prognostic factors of OS (P<0.05 for all). Conclusions: The planned neoadjuvant radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy for the non-radical resection of advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma could result in favorable survival. The chest pain, postoperative respiratory failure, pathological differentiation, the number of lymph node resection and ypTNM stage are the independent prognostic factors of the prognosis of these patients.

Abstract
Disfunction of Eustachian tube will cause negative pressure of middle ear, which may result in tympanic membrane retraction pocket. Severe pocket can consequently cause cholesteatoma. In clinical practice it is not uncommon to find a cholesteatoma limited to epitympanum, with an otherwise normal pars tensa and mesotympanum. This review explains the theory of "selective epitympanic dysventilation syndrome" developed by endoscopic technique. In the majority of the patients, the only ventilation pathway to the epitympanum is through the tympanic isthmus. Even if Eustachian tube function has recovered, an isthmus blockage with selective epitympanic dysventilation may lead to common attic cholesteatoma.

[Antimicrobial resistance and molecular epidemiology of foodborne Yersinia enterocolitica in Pudong New District, Shanghai]. Abstract
Objective: To investigate the antimicrobial resistance and molecular epidemiology of foodborne Yersinia (Y.) enterocolitica in Pudong New District of Shanghai. Methods: Four kinds of raw food samples were collected in retail circulation sites in Pudong from 2012 to 2016. Cold enrichment method was used to isolate Y. enterocolitica and further detection of biotype, serotype, virulent genes, antimicrobial susceptibility of the isolates and pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) were conducted. Results: A total of 3 900 raw food samples were collected during this period, including poultry product (n=590), livestock product (n=1 074), aquatic product (n=1 488), vegetable (n=748), in which 111 (2.8%) were contaminated by Y. enterocolitica. The detection rates of Y. enterocolitica in poultry product samples (5.3%, 31/590) and livestock product samples (4.5%, 48/1 074) were higher than those in aquatic product samples (1.6%, 24/1 488) and vegetable samples (1.1%, 8/748). The predominant biotype was 1A (95.5%) and predominant serotype was O∶8 (42.3%). All the strains lacked ail, ystA, yadA and virF genes, which encoded pathogenic Y. enterocolitica. Seventy six (68.5%) strains harbored ystB gene, in which 35 (31.5%) belonged to 1A/O∶8/ystB pattern. Most strains were resistant to ampicillin (74.8%) and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (70.3%), and non-sensitive rate to Cefoxitin was over 50.0%. No third generation cephalosporin or fluoroquinolone resistant strains were detected, but 38.7% (43/111) strains were multidrug resistant (MDR). Serotype O∶8 and O∶5 strains had 44 and 18 PFGE patterns, respectively. Conclusions: The main foodborne exposure sources of Y. enterocolitica in raw food were poultry and livestock products in Pudong New District. 1A/O∶8/ystB was the predominant pattern with potential pathogenicity despite lacks of typical pathogenic virulent genes. The antimicrobial resistant rates of Y. enterocolitica were at a low level, but MDR strains still existed. Molecular types of the isolates showed highly genetic diversity.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate warning symptoms of asthma attack and evaluate asthma self-management status of asthma patients in urban China. Methods: A multi-center, cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey was carried out from 30 general hospitals dispersed in 30 provinces of mainland China (except for Tibet) during Oct 2015 to May 2016. Information of frequency and warning symptoms of asthma attack, the time from warning symptoms to asthma attack, the impact of asthma attack and asthma self-management were collected from asthma patients of outpatient department. Results: Altogether 3 875 asthmatic outpatients were recruited. 78.1% (3 026/3 875) of the patients reported restriction of exercise and daily activities during asthma exacerbation. 82.5% (3 160/3 829) of the patients had warning symptoms before asthma attack, the most common warning symptoms were cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath. The median time from warning symptoms to asthma attack was 2 h, the mean time was 90 h. Only 4.4% (167/3 829) of the patients had definite confidence to control asthma when symptoms deteriorated. 76.7% (2 937/3 828) of the patients used medications to control asthma when asthma symptoms deteriorated. Medication choice: inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) + formoterol 45.8% (1 776/3 875), short-acting beta-agonist (SABA) 23.9% (927/3 875). Conclusions: Most asthma patients have warning symptoms before asthma attack, the most common symptoms are cough, chest tightness and shortness of breath. The proportion of patients conducting effective asthma self-management remains low.

[Clinical evaluation of two transalveolar methods for sinus augmentation with placing 1 204 implants immediately]. Abstract
Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes of posterior maxillary implant surgery when using the regular transalveolar approach or with the crestal approach-sinus (CAS-KIT), a device for maxillary sinus membrane elevation by the crestal approach using a special drilling system and hydraulic pressure. Methods: In this retrospective study 887 patients during Jan 2012 to July 2015 in Hangzhou Dental Hospital with underwent either regular transalveolar approach or CAS-KIT approach for maxillary augmentation; whereas 11 patients dropped out for the reason of serious membrane perforations. Totally, 876 patients with 1 204 plants, placed immediately after transalveolar maxillary augmentation, were included in this study. The data analysis was performed by radiological measures to assess the changes in height of maxillary sinus floor after the transalveolar augmentation at different time points. In addition, the complications after surgery, failure rates, osseointegration condition and the performance of rehabilitation were evaluated as well. Results: Five hundred and three patients were experienced with regular transalveolar approach, and 7 patients were drop out for the serious membrane perforations. Thus, 496 patients received 653 implants in this group; the average lifted range in maxillary sinus floor height changes was (4.08±3.45) mm. The complications were minor membrane perforations during procedure in 64 patients, postoperative maxillary sinus infection happening in 2 patients and 13 patients experienced rehabilitation failure. Three hundred and eighty-four patients had CAS-KIT approach with 4 patients dropped out. Three hundred and eighty patients get 551 implants with the mean lifted range of (8.36±4.07) mm in maxillary sinus floor height changes. Minor membrane perforations during procedure occurred in 31 people and 2 got postoperative maxillary sinus infection. The 4 year overall survival rate of 1 204 implants was 97.26%, with four implants fell off after 3 months of rehabilitation and one implant occurred after one year of rehabilitation. Conclusions: The regular transalveolar sinus lift technique is easier and time saving, but the compromised lifting range in maxillary sinus floor height and the comparatively high occurrence of intraoperative membrane perforations should be concerned. Using CAS-KIT could be an alternative method to perform maxillary sinus augmentation with a reduced incidence of complications. There was no statistically difference in implant failure rates and incidence of postoperative maxillary sinus infection between two groups.

[The level of asthma control in China from a national asthma control survey]. Abstract
Objective: To assess the overall asthma control level in urban China. Methods: A multi-center, cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey was carried out in 30 provinces in China (except Tibet). Asthmatic outpatients who met the inclusion criteria were recruited consecutively from 30 sub-centers from October 2015 to May 2016. Data of demographic characteristics, asthma control, asthma management, asthma exacerbations and self-management, and disease perception were collected by face-to-face interviews. Results: Totally 3 875 asthmatic outpatients were recruited. Asthma control level was assessed according to GINA 2015. The prevalence of asthma control was 28.5%(1 099/3 854). Among 10 cities, which were also involved in the asthma control survey in 2008, the level of asthma control improved from 28.7% in 2008 to 39.2%(533/1 361) in 2016. The rate of hospitalizations due to asthma exacerbations was 26.4%(1 017/3 858) and the rate of emergency visits was 22.4%(864/3 858). Among adult patients, 18.4%(568/3 092) of them had been absent from work while 63.6%(63/99) adolescent patients had been absent from school because of asthma attacks in the previous year. Conclusion: Although the level of asthma control in China is still far from ideal at present, the status has been improved in some cities. Poorly controlled asthma resulted in increase of hospitalizations, emergency department visits and work/school absences.

Abstract
A primitive adaptive immune system has recently been suggested to be present in a basal chordate amphioxus (Branchiostoma belcheri, Bb), making it an ideal model for studying the origin of adaptive immune. The novel protein kinase C isoform PKC-θ, but not its closest isoform PKC-δ, plays a critical role for mammalian T-cell activation via translocation to immunological synapse (IS) mediated by a unique PKC-θ V3 domain containing one PxxP motif. To understand the evolution of this unique PKC-θ V3 domain and the primitive adaptive immune system in amphioxus, we comparatively studied the orthologs of PKC-δ and -θ from amphioxus and other species. Phylogenetic analysis showed BbPKC-δ/θ to be the common ancestor of vertebrate PKC-δ and PKC-θ, with a V3 domain containing two PxxP motifs. One motif is conserved in both zebrafish and mammalian PKC-θ but is absent in PKC-δ V3 domain of these species, and has already emerged in drosophila PKC-δ. The other non-conserved motif emerged in BbPKC-δ/θ, and only retained in Danio rerio PKC-δ (DrPKC-δ) but lost in mammalian PKC-δ and -θ. Comparative analyses of the sequence and function of BbPKC-δ/θ, DrPKC-δ, DrPKC-θ and Homo sapiens PKC-θ (HsPKC-θ) in IS translocation and T-cell receptor (TCR)-induced NF-κB activation revealed that retention of the conserved PxxP motif and loss of the non-conserved PxxP motif in mammalian PKC-θ and loss of both PxxP motifs in mammalian PKC-δ accomplish the unique function of PKC-θ in T cells. Together, this study suggests an evolutionary mechanism for PKC-θ unique V3 and reveals BbPKC-δ/θ is the common ancestor of PKC-δ and -θ with a functional proto-V3 domain, supplying new evidence for the existence of primitive adaptive immune system in amphioxus.

Abstract
Objective: In order to evaluate disease perception of asthma patients in urban China and provide evidence for further specific patient education. Methods: A multi-center, cross-sectional, questionnaire-based survey was carried out in 30 general hospitals dispersed in 30 provinces of mainland China (except for Tibet) during Oct 2015 to May 2016. Information of disease perception [Question 1: the disease nature of asthma; Question 2: medication choice of first-line in chronic asthma; Question 3: the occasion of using short-acting aerosols of receptor agonists; Question 4: perception of asthma treatment goal; Question 5: reason for not using peak flow meter (PFM)] were collected from asthma patients of outpatient department. These results were compared with the same type of survey results from 2007-2008. Results: Altogether 3 875 asthmatic outpatients were recruited. 69.0% (2 660/3 857) of the patients had right perception on the disease nature of asthma, 60.2% (2 321/3 857) of the patients considered inhaled corticosteroids (ICS)/inhaled corticosteroids plus long-acting beta2-agonists (ICS+ LABA) as daily-used first-line medication for chronic asthma. 85.7% (3 277/3 823) of the patients had right perception on the condition of using short-acting beta2-agonists (SABA). 75.4% (2 761/3 661) of the patients had right perception on asthma treatment goal. Only 10.1% (388/3 837) of the patients used PFM. Of the reasons for not using PFM, 65.2% (2 518/3 860) of the patients chose doctors never introduced. Among the 10 cities, which were also involved in the asthma control survey in 2007-2008, 71.1% (968/1 361) of the patients had right perception on the disease nature of asthma, 61.6% (839/1 362) of the patients considered ICS/ICS+ LABA as daily-used first-line medication for chronic asthma. 88.7% (1 207/1 361) of the patients had right perception on the condition of using SABA. 74.5% (1 013/1 360) of the patients had right perception on asthma treatment goal. 17.9% (244/1 360) of the patients used PFM. Of the reasons for not using PFM, 76.2% (931/1 221) of the patients chose doctors never introduced. Compared to the survey conducted in 2007-2008, the perception on disease nature and medication choice as daily-used first-line medication for chronic asthma significantly improved, the perception on occasion of using SABA and asthma treatment goal was comparable, while the rate of PFM usage showed no significant improvement. In reasons of not using PFM, doctors never introduced ranked the first. Conclusions: Compared to the similar survey conducted in 2007-2008, the overall status of disease perception of asthma patients has been improved in urban China, while the rate of PFM usage showed no significant improvement. Asthma education on asthma and asthma self-management should be further pushed forward.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the involvement of different CD4+ T cell subtypes in the anti-asthmatic effects of acupuncture in asthmatic mice. METHODS BALB/c mice were challenged by ovalbumin (OVA) for the establishment of experimental asthma model. Mice were divided into 4 groups by a random number table including the normal control, asthma model, acupuncture and sham acupuncture groups (14 per group). Acupoints Dazhui (GV 14), bilateral Fengmen (BL 12) and Feishu (BL 13) were selected for manual acupuncture treatment every other day for 4 weeks and Huantiao (GB 30) was selected for sham acupuncture. Airway hyperresponsiveness was examined by Buxco Pulmonary System. Pulmonary histopathology analysis was performed for inflammatory cell infiltration and mucus hypersecretion by haematoxylin eosin staining and periodic acid-Schiffstaining. Inflammatory mediators assays of serum were investigated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Bio-Plex. CD4+ T cell subpopulations including the expression levels of important factors in T lymphocyte polarization in lung tissue were examined by flow cytometric and Western blot analyses. Related pathways were detected by Western blot assay. RESULTS Compared with the OVA-induced asthma model group, acupuncture could attenuate airway hyperresponsiveness, inhibit inflammatory cell infiltration and mucus hypersecretion (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Furthermore, acupuncture increased the expressions of T-bet and Foxp3+, the cell numbers of CD4+ interferon gamma (IFN-γ)+ and CD4+ Foxp3+ in lung tissue and the level of Treg type cytokine interleukin (IL)-10 in serum (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Meanwhile, acupuncture reduced the RAR-related orphan receptor gamma t (RORγt) level, the cell numbers of CD4+ IL-17A+ as well as the levels of IL-5, IL-13 and IL-17A in serum (P<0.05 or P<0.01). In addition, both acupuncture and sham acupuncture could inhibit the phosphorylation of p38 and p44/42 (P<0.01). CONCLUSION Acupuncture could alleviate allergic airway inflammation by strengthening the activities of Th1 and Treg, thus regulating the balance of CD4+ T cell subtypes in experimental asthmatic mice.

Abstract
To verify the applicability of identifying Microcystis aeruginosa by matrix-assisted laser desorption-ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS), mixed and field samples were employed to study the sensitivity and the analysis power, respectively. Series diluted samples and artificially mixed samples by the M. aeruginosa NIES-843 strain were designed to verify the sensitivity. The lowest detection limit was 1.955 × 106 cells in pure samples, while for mixed samples, the lowest detection limit and ratio of NIES-843 strain were 2.88 × 106 cells and 33.7%, respectively. The results provided a reference for the reasonable volume of the water sample in which the M. aeruginosa could be detected. Ribosomal protein biomarkers for identifying M. aeruginosa which were successfully detected from the field samples in Taihu Lake, indicated that the identification of M. aeruginosa by MALDI-TOF MS could be applied in field samples. Furthermore, different genetic types of M. aeruginosa strains were also detected at different locations in Taihu Lake, which revealed the diversity of M. aeruginosa and the detection power of MALDI-TOF MS at the strain level for the field samples. The sensitivity and detection power in the analysis of M. aeruginosa by the MALDI-TOF MS demonstrated the applicability of this method in routine environmental monitoring.

Abstract
Objective:The aim of this study is to explore the psychoacoustic and clinical features of patients with idiopathic tinnitus, to understand the relationship and regularity between tinnitus frequency, loudness and hearing loss, and to provide a basis for personalized diagnosis and treatment of tinnitus.Method:A total of 110 patients with idiopathic tinnitus underwent systematic otological professional examination,audiological examination, tinnitus refinement examination, medical history inquiry and tinnitus disability scale(THI) survey.Result:Tinnitus more frequently occurred between 20 to 60 years of age(95.45%),a significant decrease in people under the age of 20 and over the age of 60;67 cases(60.9%) of the tinnitus frequency were completely consistent with the maximum frequency of hearing loss, The Pearson test showed that tinnitus frequency was correlated to frequency of hearing loss (r=0.989,P<0.05).Tinnitus loudness pitch results are mostly concentrated between 40-60dBSL, The Pearson test showed that tinnitus loudness was correlated to hearing loss(r=0.932,P<0.05);The total effective rate of sound therapy was 67.3%,There was a correlation between Residual inhibition and sound therapy(r=0.438,P<0.05); No statistic difference was found between THI scores and Tinnitus duration (r=-0.047,P>0.05).Conclusion:There was a correlation between tinnitus pitch and hearing loss.Residual inhibition may indicate the effectiveness of the sound therapy and may affect the patient's THI score. Full Precision Test can provide clinical reference for early detection of hearing loss in tinnitus patients.

Abstract
Neuroendocrine tumors(NET) is a rare tumor with high heterogeneity.Pancreatic NET is the most common type in China. European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society(ENETS) has launched the ENETS guidelines since 2006 and published the ENETS standard of care in 2009. With the newly targeted therapies and further research on NET, 2017 new edition of the ENETS standard of care has changed a lot in the diagnosis and treatment of NET. This article explains the update of pancreatic NET in the 2017 edition of the ENETS standard of care, and introduces pancreatic NET from pathology, imaging examination, surgery, systemic therapy, etc., and deepens the understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic NET.

Abstract
Exploring high performance cathode materials is of great means for the development of bi-functional electrochromic energy storage devices. Herein, Nb-doped WO3 mesoporous films as integrated high-quality cathode are successfully constructed via a facile sol-gel method. Chemical state and crystallinity of the WO3 based films are significantly influenced by doping concentration. Compared with the pure WO3, the optimal Nb-doped film shows improved optical-electrochemical properties with high specific capacity (74.4 mAh g-1 at 2 A g-1), excellent high-rate capability, large optical contrast (61.7% at 633 nm), and ultra-fast switching speed (3.6 s and 2.1 s for coloring and bleaching process, respectively). These positive features suggest the potential application of Nb-doped WO3 mesoporous cathode. Our research paves the way for the development of multifunctional photoelectrochemical energy devices.

Abstract
Objective:The study aims to assess the effect of tympanoplasty without mastoidectomy for the middle ear under different infected states.Method:One hundred and thirteen cases (113 ears) with chronic otitis media (COM) received tympanoplasty without mastoidectomy. All the patients were found inflammatory proliferative lesions in the mastoid and tympanic antrum via CT scan before surgery and were followed up over 1 year. The patients were placed into the infected ear group (72 ears) and uninfected ear group (41 ears) according to the infective condition. We used SPSS statistical software to analyze the efficacy.Result:Of 113 cases, 92 ears had dry ear canals in 1/2 to 1 month after surgery, and the negative air pressure in the tympanum gradually disappeared in 3-6 months after surgery. Of the 72 ears in the infected ear group, 69 ears had postoperative dry ears, and a large amount of intraoperative purulent secretion was seen in the tympanum in 4 cases, which all had dry ear canals. Three cases had relapse, for a dry ear canal rate of 95.8%. Three ears showed dry tympanic membrane perforations, and effective ears with air-bone conduction differences smaller than or equal to 20 dB accounted for 51.4% of cases. Of the 41 ears in the uninfected group, 40 ears had postoperative dry ears, 1 case had relapse, for a dry ear canal rate of 97.6%. Two ears showed dry tympanic membrane perforations. Effective ears with air-bone conduction differences smaller than or equal to 20 dB accounted for 48.8% of cases. No case of facial paralysis, dizziness, formation of invaginations of the tympanic membrane and cholesteatoma were seen in the patients included in this study during the follow-up visits.Conclusion:Whether there are inflammatory proliferative lesions in the mastoidor not, tympanoplasty without mastoidectomy is feasible for chronic active otitis media. Moreover, different infection statuses of the middle ear do not cause difference in the postoperative relapse rate and hearing improvement.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Prevailing dietary guidelines recommend regular fish consumption. However, the associations of fish and long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCn-3 PUFAs) intakes with mortality remain unclear. OBJECTIVES To examine the associations of fish and LCn-3 PUFAs intakes with total and cause-specific mortality. METHODS A total of 240 729 men and 180 580 women from NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study were prospectively followed-up for 16 years. Dietary intakes were assessed using a validated NIH Diet History Questionnaire. RESULTS A total of 54 230 men and 30 882 women died during 6.07 million person-years of follow-up. Higher fish and LCn-3 PUFAs intakes were significantly associated with lower total mortality (P < 0.0001). Comparing the highest with lowest quintiles of fish intake, men had 9% (95% confidence interval, 6-11%) lower total mortality, 10% (6-15%) lower cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality, 6% (1-10%) lower cancer mortality, 20% (11-28%) lower respiratory disease mortality and 37% (17-53%) lower chronic liver disease mortality, while women had 8% (5-12%) lower total mortality, 10% (3-17%) lower CVD mortality and 38% (20-52%) lower Alzheimer's disease mortality. Fried fish consumption was not related to mortality in men whereas positively associated with mortality from all causes (P = 0.011), CVD and respiratory disease in women. LCn-3 PUFAs intake was associated with 15% and 18% lower CVD mortality in men and women across extreme quintiles, respectively. CONCLUSION Consumption of fish and LCn-3 PUFAs was robustly associated with lower mortality from major causes. Our findings support current guidelines for fish consumption while advice on non-frying preparation methods is needed.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the current perception of disease among asthmatic patients in Chinese urban areas, and to address its association with asthma control. Methods: This was a nationwide, multi-center, cross-sectional study covering 30 third-level, grade A hospitals in 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions (not including Tibet) across Chinese mainland. The survey was carried out from October 2015 to May 2016. Asthmatic outpatients were selected to receive face-to-face questionnaire survey on asthma control including Asthma Control Test (ACT) score, classification of asthma control level[according to the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) 2015 classification system, as assessed by the physician completing the survey], perception of asthma (including question 1: nature of asthma as a disease; question 2: selection of first-line therapeutic agents to be regularly used daily for asthma; question 3: appropriate timing of the use of short-acting aerosols of β(2) receptor agonists; and question 4: therapeutic goals for asthma). Results: A total of 3 875 asthmatic outpatients were included; among them, 69.0% (2 660/3 857) were aware that asthma is "an airway inflammatory disorder resulting from the combined effects of heredity and environment" ; 60.2% (2 321/3 857) considered "inhaled glucocorticoids or their compound preparations" to be the first-line therapeutic agents to be regularly used daily for patients with persistent chronic asthma; 85.7% (3 277/3 823) considered it appropriate to use short-acting aerosols of β(2) receptor agonists "as needed in the event of disease aggravation or acute exacerbation" ; and 75.4% (2 761/3 661) were aware that asthma "can be adequately or completely controlled in the long term" . The ACT score[20 (16, 23) vs 19 (16, 22) points; Z=-3.928, P<0.001]and asthma control rate (29.92% vs 25.31%; χ(2)=8.616, P=0.003) were significantly higher, and the rate of uncontrolled asthma (19.92% vs 23.48%; χ(2)=6.267, P=0.012) was significantly lower among the 2 660 (69.0%) patients correctly answering question 1 than among the 1 197 (31.0%) patients giving incorrect answer. The ACT score[21 (17, 23) vs 19 (15, 22) points; Z=-9.190, P<0.001] and asthma control rate (32.66% vs 22.20%; χ(2)=49.614, P<0.001) were significantly higher, and the rate of uncontrolled asthma (18.40% vs 25.00%; χ(2)=24.267, P<0.001) was significantly lower among the 2 321 (60.2%) patient correctly answering question 2 than among the 1 536 (39.8%) patients giving incorrect answer. Conclusions: Compared to previous surveys, there has been improved perception of disease among asthmatic patients in Chinese urban areas. Correct perception of disease is favorable for improving asthma control level.

Abstract
Objective: The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the prognostic significance of pretreatment Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio(NLR) in locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) patients treated with thoracic radiotherapy. Methods: We retrospectively analyze 420 patients who received thoracic radiotherapy alone, sequential chemoraiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced stage NSCLC from January 2007 to December 2010 of our hospital. The patients were divided into two groups (high NLR group and low NLR group) with appropriate cutoff point using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve method. The survival curve was established by Kaplan-Meier method. The Log-rank test was used to compare the survival of the two NLR groups and the multivariate analysis was carried out by Cox regression model. Results: Among the 420 patients, 99 received radiotherapy alone, 139 received sequential chemoradiotherapy and 182 received concurrent chemoradiotherapy. 345 patients died and 75 were still alive. The median follow-up time was 5.2 years and the median overall survival was 22 months. The cut-off value of pretreatment NLR was 2.1. The 5-year PFS and OS rates in high NLR group and low NLR group were 10.6% vs 15.7% (P=0.033) and 15.5% vs 22.7% (P=0.012). Multivariate analysis confirmed that pretreatment NLR (hazard ratio 1.06, P=0.041) was independent prognostic factor of OS. Conclusions: Our study revealed that the pretreatment NLR is the independent prognostic factor of OS in patients with locally advanced stage NSCLC treated with thoracic radiotherapy. However, NLR is still greatly influenced by patient's condition and treatment which needs further research.

Abstract
Zha-xun is widely used in Tibetan medicine and is also an international traditional medicine. This article would summarize the use status and research progress of Zha-xun by various ethnic groups all over the world, and the results show that it has various synonyms but most of them imply its most characteristic feature-outflow from the rock; Zha-xun resources are distributed in various places of the world, and its bearing spots are closely related to the geological structure; there are sharp arguments on the origins of Zha-xun, mainly including the minerals origin, biological fossils origin, biological origin, etc. Zha-xun has multiple functions and is mainly used to treat stomach disease, liver disease and rheumatoid arthritis in China, and premature ejaculation, impotence, vaginitis embolism in foreign countries. "Iron" Zha-xun is used into medicines both at home and abroad. According to ancient materia medica texts, it was mainly classified into five types, including gold Zha-xun, silver Zha-xun, copper Zha-xun, iron Zha-xun and lead Zha-xun mainly based on the predominance of color rather than the minerals contained. It is commonly believed by the domestic and foreign scholars that humic acid is the main medicinal part of Zha-xun, and their studies have found that it has a variety of pharmacological activities such as anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory, liver protection, analgesia, immune regulation, increasing sexual desire and fertility, antioxidation, antibacterial, antidiabetic, antiepileptic, antipsychotic, etc. This paper provides a scientific basis for the rational utilization of Zha-xun resources.

Abstract
Premature ovarian failure (POF) results from a number of disorders. The POF model is primarily based on chemotherapeutic injury, and hence is not suitable for assessing the effects of chronic stress on ovarian function. Therefore, improved animal models are required to analyze the effects of chronic stress on ovarian reserve. The feasibility of the chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) method for establishing a model of POF was examined. The depressive behavior exhibited by rats was evaluated with the open field and sucrose preference tests. Vaginal smears were obtained for assessment of the estrous cycle. The ovarian reserve of the animals was evaluated using the estrous cycle, ovarian histology and serum levels of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), follicle‑stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E2), and anti‑Müllerian hormone (AMH). Compared with the control group, body weight, time spent in the center, horizontal movement, vertical frequency, consumption of sucrose, sucrose preference, number of small follicles from the rats, and serum E2, AMH and GnRH levels were significantly decreased in the CUMS group (all P<0.05). However, the estrous cycle was prolonged significantly (P<0.05) and serum FSH levels were increased significantly (P<0.01). These results suggested that the CUMS model rats exhibited depression‑like behaviors. CUMS may induce psychological stress and decrease ovarian reserve in female rats. Thus, the CUMS model may be used to assess the effects of chronic stress on female reproductive function.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical features and imaging characteristics of Meniere's disease (MD)verified by intravenous gadolinium contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Methods: A total of 174 patients with Meniere's disease were involved in this study between March 2016 and October 2017. All of them underwent 3D-fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) MRI and presented endolymphatic hydrops and clinical characteristics of suspected Meniere's disease. The clinical characteristics, the grades of endolymphatic hydrops (EH) using Nakashima grading standard were analyzed, and the correlation between grade and clinical features was evaluated. Results: There were totally 174 patients (88 males, 86 females), with the age of 7-83 years [mean age of (51.0±15.0)] years. Age of onset and disease course was 7-83 years [mean age of (44.6±16.6) years], 36.0 (12.0, 111.0) months (from 2 days to 70 years), respectively. EH was found in all the patients, and 169 cases (97.1%) manifested as modest or severe hydrops. Among the 174 patients, 139 cases (79.9%) presented unilateral EH, and 35 cases (20.1%) presented bilateral EH. The degree of EH in the latter was more serious than the former. For 174 patients, clinical characteristics were inconsistent, which was not in accord with the existing diagnostic criteria. Furthermore, there was a correlation between degree of hydrops and degree of hearing loss (P<0.05). Conclusions: EH in Meniere's disease can be measured objectively by intravenous gadolinium contrast-enhanced MRI. Clinical characteristics in MD verified by EH are not accordant with the existing criteria, which means the significance of EH in diagnosis of MD. Moreover, there's a correlation between degree and distribution of hydrops and degree of hearing loss.
