Abstract
The impacts of extreme temperatures on diabetes have been explored in previous studies. However, it is unknown whether the impacts of heatwaves appear variations between inland and coastal regions. This study aims to quantify the associations between heat exposure and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) deaths in two cities with different climate features in Shandong Province, China. We used a case-crossover design by quasi-Poisson generalized additive regression with a distributed lag model with lag 2 weeks, controlling for relative humidity, the concentration of air pollution particles with a diameter of 2.5 µm or less (PM2.5), and seasonality. The wet- bulb temperature (Tw) was used to measure the heat stress of the heatwaves. A significant association between heatwaves and T2DM deaths was only found in the coastal city (Qingdao) at the lag of 2 weeks at the lowest Tw = 14℃ (relative risk (RR) = 1.49, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.11-2.02; women: RR = 1.51, 95% CI: 1.02-2.24; elderly: RR = 1.50, 95% CI: 1.08-2.09). The lag-specific effects were significant associated with Tw at lag of 1 week at the lowest Tw = 14℃ (RR = 1.14, 95% CI: 1.03-1.26; women: RR = 1.15, 95% CI: 1.01-1.31; elderly: RR = 1.15, 95% CI: 1.03-1.28). However, no significant association was found in Jian city. The research suggested that Tw was significantly associated with T2DM mortality in the coastal city during heatwaves on T2DM mortality. Future strategies should be implemented with considering socio-environmental contexts in regions.

Abstract
The spike growth phase is critical for the establishment of fertile floret (grain) numbers in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Then, how to shorten the spike growth phase and increase grain number synergistically? Here, we showed high-resolution analyses of floret primordia (FP) number, morphology and spike transcriptomes during the spike growth phase under three light regimens. The development of all FP in a spike could be divided into four distinct stages: differentiation (Stage I), differentiation and morphology development concurrently (Stage II), morphology development (Stage III), and polarization (Stage IV). Compared to the short photoperiod, the long photoperiod shortened spike growth and stimulated early flowering by shortening Stage III; however, this reduced assimilate accumulation, resulting in fertile floret loss. Interestingly, long photoperiod supplemented with red light shortened the time required to complete Stages I-II, then raised assimilates supply in the spike and promoted anther development before polarization initiation, thereby increasing fertile FP number during Stage III, and finally maintained fertile FP development during Stage IV until they became fertile florets via a predicted dynamic gene network. Our findings proposed a light regimen, critical stages and candidate regulators that achieved a shorter spike growth phase and a higher fertile floret number in wheat.

Abstract
This article explored the mechanism of E1A binding protein p300 (P300) and beta-tubulin 4B isotype-encoding gene (TUBB4B) in regulating the migration and invasion of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. TUBB4B and P300 expression in NSCLC tissues and cells was monitored by real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blot. TUBB4B function on NSCLC cell migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) was monitored by wound healing assay, Transwell experiment and Western blot. The regulation of P300 on TUBB4B was monitored by qRT-PCR and Western blot. Mechanism of P300 and TUBB4B in regulating NSCLC cell migration and invasion was explored by rescue experiment. A xenograft tumor model was established by using nude mouse. As a result, low TUBB4B expression and high P300 expression was discovered in NSCLC tissues and cells. TUBB4B and P300 expression showed a negative correlation in NSCLC tissues. Lower TUBB4B but higher P300 was observed in tumor tissues of NSCLC patients with metastasis. TUBB4B overexpression suppressed NSCLC cell migration, invasion and EMT. TUBB4B silencing had opposite results. P300 overexpression inhibited TUBB4B expression, and P300 silencing facilitated TUBB4B overexpression in NSCLC cells. TUBB4B overexpression counteracted the promotion of P300 overexpression on NSCLC cell invasion and migration. TUBB4B silencing abrogated the inhibition of P300 knockdown on NSCLC cell invasion and migration. TUBB4B overexpression suppressed NSCLC cell in vivo growth. Thus, TUBB4B could be reduced by P300 in NSCLC. It exerted suppression role on NSCLC cell migration, invasion and EMT. TUBB4B may be a novel target for NSCLC treatment.

Abstract
Despite the rapid development of tissue adhesives, flaws including allergies, poor stability, and indiscriminate double-sided adhesive properties limit their application in the medical field. In this work, Janus polyurethane patches were spontaneously prepared by adjusting the difference in the functional group distribution between the top and bottom sides of the patch during emulsion drying. Consequently, poor adhesion was exhibited on the bottom surface, while the top surface can easily adhere to metals, polymers, glasses, and tissues. The difference in adhesive strength to pork skin between the two surfaces is more than 5 times. The quaternary ammonium salt and hydrophilic components on the surface of the polyurethane patch enable the rapid removal and absorption of water from the tissue surface to achieve wet adhesion. Animal experiments have demonstrated that this multifunctional Janus polyurethane patch can promote skin wound closure and healing of infected wounds. This facile and effective strategy to construct Janus polyurethane patch provides a promising method for the development of functional tissue-adhesives.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the microbiota composition and diversity between autogenous and anautogenous Culex pipiens pallens, so as to provide insights into unraveling the pathogenesis of autogeny in Cx. pipiens pallens. METHODS Autogenous and anautogenous adult Cx. pipiens pallens samples were collected at 25 ℃, and the hypervariable regions of the microbial 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) gene was sequenced on the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 sequencing platform. The microbiota abundance and diversity were evaluated using the alpha diversity index, and the difference in the microbiota structure was examined using the beta diversity index. The microbiota with significant differences in the abundance between autogenous and anautogenous adult Cx. pipiens pallens samples was identified using the linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe). RESULTS The microbiota in autogenous and anautogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples belonged to 18 phyla, 28 classes, 70 orders, 113 families, and 170 genera, and the dominant phyla included Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and so on. At the genus level, Wolbachia was a common dominant genus, and the relative abundance was (77.6 ± 11.3)% in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples and (47.5 ± 8.5)% in anautogenous mosquito samples, while Faecalibaculum (0.4% ± 0.1%), Dubosiella (0.5% ± 0.0%) and Massilia (0.5% ± 0.1%) were specific species in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples. Alpha diversity analysis showed that higher Chao1 index and ACE index in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples than in anautogenous samples (both P values > 0.05), and lower Shannon index (P > 0.05) and Simpson index (P < 0.05) in autogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples than in anautogenous samples. LEfSe analysis showed a total of 48 significantly different taxa between autogenous and anautogenous Cx. pipiens pallens samples (all P values < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS There is a significant difference in the microbiota diversity between autogenous and anautogenous Cx. pipiens pallens.

Abstract
Underwater adhesives with injectable, organic solvent-free, strong, fast adhesion, and hemostatic properties have become an urgent need in biomedical field. Herein, a novel polyurethane underwater adhesive (PUWA) inspired by mussels is developed utilizing the rapid post-cure reaction of isocyanate esterification without organic solvents. The PUWA is created through the injectable two component curing process of component A (biocompatible polyurethane prepolymer) and component B (dopamine modified lysine derivatives: chain extender-LDA and crosslinker-L3DA). The two-component adhesive cures quickly and firmly underwater, with an impressive bonding strength of 40 kPa on pork skin and excellent burst pressure of 394 mmHg. Moreover, the PUWA exhibits robust adhesion strength in hostile environments with acid, alkali and saline solutions. Combined with excellent biocompatibility and hemostatic performance, the PUWA demonstrates effectively sealing wounds and promoting healing. With the ability to bond diverse substrates rapidly and strongly, the PUWA holds significant potential for application in both biomedical and industrial fields.

Abstract
Introduction This study aims to analyze the potential impact of the meteorological environment and air pollutants on road traffic fatalities. Methods Road traffic fatality data in Shandong Province from 2012 to 2021 were obtained from the Population Death Information Registration Management System. Meteorological and air pollutant data for the same period were collected from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Ecological Environment Monitoring Center of Shandong Province, China. Pearson's correlation and ridge regression were used to analyze the impact of the meteorological environment and air pollutants on road traffic fatalities. Results From 2012 to 2021, there were 163,863 road traffic fatality cases. The results of the ridge regression analysis showed that the daily average temperature was negatively correlated with total fatalities and passengers and positively correlated with pedestrians, nonmotorized drivers, and motorized drivers. The daily minimum temperature was negatively correlated with total fatalities and positively correlated with motorized drivers. The daily maximum temperature was positively correlated with both pedestrian and nonmotorized drivers. The daily accumulated precipitation was negatively correlated with pedestrians. Sunshine duration was positively correlated with both nonmotorized and motorized drivers. Inhalable particulate matter (PM10) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) were positively correlated with total fatalities, pedestrians, and nonmotorized drivers. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) was positively correlated with total fatalities but negatively correlated with nonmotorized drivers, passengers, and motorized drivers. Conclusions Atmospheric factors associated with the occurrence of road traffic fatalities include air temperature, daily accumulated precipitation, sunshine duration, and air pollutants such as PM10, NO2, and SO2.

Abstract
Within a spike of wheat, the central spikelets usually generate three to four fertile florets, while the basal spikelets generate zero to one fertile floret. The physiological and transcriptional mechanism behind the difference in fertility between the basal and central spikelets is unclear. This study reports a high temporal resolution investigation of transcriptomes, number and morphology of floret primordia, and physiological traits. The W6.5-W7.5 stage was regarded as the boundary to distinguish between fertile and abortive floret primordia; those floret primordia reaching the W6.5-W7.5 stage during the differentiation phase (3-9 d after terminal spikelet stage) usually developed into fertile florets in the next dimorphism phase (12-27 d after terminal spikelet stage), whereas the others aborted. The central spikelets had a greater number of fertile florets than the basal spikelets, which was associated with more floret primordia reaching the W6.5-W7.5 stage. Physiological and transcriptional results demonstrated that the central spikelets had a higher sucrose content and lower abscisic acid (ABA) and jasmonic acid (JA) accumulation than the basal spikelets due to down-regulation of genes involved in ABA and JA synthesis. Collectively, we propose a model in which ABA and JA accumulation is induced under limiting sucrose availability (basal spikelet) through the up-regulation of genes involved in ABA and JA synthesis; this leads to floret primordia in the basal spikelets failing to reach their fertile potential (W6.5-W7.5 stage) during the differentiation phase and then aborting. This fertility repression model may also regulate spikelet fertility in other cereal crops and potentially provides genetic resources to improve spikelet fertility.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Inguinal hernia is a relatively common condition. Most patients with inguinal hernia require surgery. At present, mesh repair is one of the most effective methods to treat inguinal hernia, but insertion of the mesh can cause inflammation. Dexamethasone (DEX) can treat inflammation, but the mechanism by which DEX alleviates inflammation caused by inguinal hernia mesh placement remains unclear. METHOD We randomly divided rats into groups: negative control (NC), inguinal hernia (IH), polypropylene mesh (PM), DEX treatment, and miR-155 treatment groups. RT-qPCR was performed to determine the expression of miR-155. ELISA was implemented to determine the secretion of IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-18. Western blotting was used to detect caspase-1, JAK1, p-JAK1, STAT3, and p-STAT3 expression. A dual-luciferase reporter gene array identified a connection between miR-155 and JAK1. RESULTS The results revealed that the expression of miR-155, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-18 was upregulated in the PM group. After DEX treatment, the secretion of miR-155, caspase-1, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-18 decreased. Dual luciferase results confirmed that miR-155 induced the targeted downregulation of JAK1, while a miR-155 mimic reversed the therapeutic effect of DEX, and the expression levels of p-JAK1 and p-STAT3 increased. CONCLUSION DEX regulates the JAK1/STAT3 signaling pathway through miR-155 to relieve inflammation caused by inguinal hernia meshes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Air pollution is one of the most serious environmental risks to mortality of stroke. However, there exists a noteworthy knowledge gap concerning the different stroke subtypes, causes of death, the susceptibility of stroke patient, and the role of greenness in this context. METHODS We analyzed data from an ecological health cohort, which included 334,261 patients aged ≥40 years with stroke (comprising 288,490 ischemic stroke and 45,771 hemorrhagic stroke) during the period 2013-2019. We used Cox proportional hazards models with time-varying exposure to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) to assess the associations of annual average fine particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and ozone (O3) with both all-cause and cause-specific mortality. Additionally, we conducted analyses to examine the effect modification by greenness and identify potential susceptibility factors through subgroup analyses. RESULT In multivariable-adjusted models, long-term exposure to PM2.5 and NO2 was associated with increased risk of all-cause mortality (HR: 1.038, 95% CI: 1.029-1.047 for PM2.5; HR: 1.055, 95% CI: 1.026-1.085 for NO2, per 10 μg/m3, for ischemic stroke patients; similar for hemorrhagic stroke patients). Gradually increasing effect sizes were shown for CVD mortality and stroke mortality. The HRs of mortality were slightly weaker with high versus low vegetation exposure. Cumulative exposures increased the HRs of pollutant-related mortality, and greater greenness decreased this risk. Two subtypes of stroke patients exhibited diverse patterns of benefit. CONCLUSION Increasing residential greenness attenuates the increased risk of mortality with different patterns due to chronic air pollutants for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, offering valuable insights for precise tertiary stroke prevention strategies.

Abstract
PURPOSE The air health index (AHI) captures the combined effects of air pollution and non-optimal temperatures and helps assess the atmospheric environment's overall health risk. Shandong Province is a crucial industrial base in China, and the health effects of air pollution and non-optimal temperature cannot be ignored. To construct an AHI for Shandong Province and assess the district-level mortality burden due to AHI in the study area. METHODS Daily district-specific mortality, meteorological, and air pollution data over 2013-2018 were collected in Shandong Province, China. The AHI construction eventually incorporated PM2.5 and NO2, O3, and non-optimal temperatures. Attributable fraction (AF) and attributable number (AN) were used to estimate the district-specific mortality burden attributable to AHI. RESULTS The average AHI value observed in Shandong Province was 6. Our research revealed a positive association between the total AHI and total mortality, with an overall trend of a slow increase followed by a rapid increase. The exposure-response curves, when stratified by gender, age, and cause of death, were approximately consistent with the overall trend. The provincial attributable fraction (AF) was 5.31% (95% CI 4.58%, 5.91%), and the attributable number (AN) was 188,246 (95% CI 162,396, 209,533). Overall, higher ANs mainly appeared in the southwestern area, while higher values of AF were observed in the central-eastern and central-northern areas. CONCLUSIONS The air health index performs well in predicting death burden and can convey health risks related to exposure to the ambient environment to the public.

Abstract
In order to improve the decorative properties of Magnesium-Glass-Board (MGB), the surface morphology and decoration performance of MGB, are studied in detail by using profilometer, microscope and SEM, and the influence of its characterization, such as surface roughness, surface porosity and wettability, on decorative properties of MGB is analyzed by comparing with medium density fiberboard (MDF) and medium density particleboard (MDP). The results first showed that the surface of MGB has a porous structure, but MDF and MDP are not, resulting in a poor decorative performance of MGB. Second, it is found that the surface wettability of MGB is better than others. Third, the hot-pressing parameters including pressure, temperature and time have different influence on decorative performance of MGB during hot-pressing experiment. Finally, the surface bonding strength is positively correlated with pressure, but not with temperature and time. In general, a higher surface bonding strength led to a better decorative performance of MGB. The furthermore research can concentrate on the modification method of the MGB's surface according to this paper's conclusion to improve the lamination performance of melamine paper.

Abstract
Objective: In this study, we aimed to compare the short-term safety of two digestive tract reconstruction techniques, laparoscopic total abdominal overlap anastomosis and laparoscopic-assisted end-to-side anastomosis, following radical resection of Siewert Type II adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, we analyzed relevant clinical data of 139 patients who had undergone radical surgery for Siewert Type II esophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma. These included 89 patients treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University from November 2021 to July 2023, 36 patients treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from December 2020 to June 2021, and 14 patients treated at the Yuncheng Central Hospital in Shanxi Province from September 2021 to November 2022. The group consisted of 107 men (77.0%) and 32 women (23.0%) of mean age 62.5±9.3 years. Forty-eight patients underwent laparoscopic total abdominal overlap anastomosis (overlap group), and 91 laparoscopic-assisted end-to-side anastomosis (end-to-side group). Clinical data, surgical information, pathological findings, postoperative recovery, and related complications were compared between the two groups. Results: There were no significant differences in general clinical data between the overlap and end-to-side anastomosis groups (all P>0.05), indicating comparability. There was no significant difference in operation time (267.2±60.1 minutes vs. 262.8±70.6 minutes, t=0.370, P=0.712). However, the intraoperative blood loss in the overlap group (100 [50, 100] mL) was significantly lower compared to the end-to-side group (100[50, 175] mL, Z=2.776, P=0.005). Compared to the end-to-side group, longer distances between the tumor and distal resection margin proximal(1.7±1.0 cm vs. 1.3±0.9 cm, t=2.487, P=0.014) and the tumor and distal resection margin (9.5±2.9 cm vs. 7.9±3.5 cm, t=2.667, P=0.009) were achieved in the overlap group. Compared with the end-to-side group, the overlap group achieved significantly earlier postoperative ambulation (1.0 [1.0, 2.0] days vs. 2.0 [1.0, 3.0] days, Z=3.117, P=0.002), earlier time to first drink (4.7±2.6 days vs. 6.2±3.0 days, t=2.851, P=0.005), and earlier time to first meal (6.0±2.7 days vs. 7.1±3.0 days, t=2.170, P=0.032). However, the hospitalization costs were higher in the overlap group (113, 105.5±37, 766.3) yuan vs. (97, 250.2±27, 746.9) yuan; this difference is significant (t=2.818, P=0.006). There were no significant differences between the two groups in postoperative hospital stay, total number of lymph nodes cleared, or time to first postoperative flatus (all P>0.05). The incidence of surgery-related complications was 22.9%(11/48) in the overlap group and 19.8% (18/91) in the end-to-side group; this difference is not significant (χ²=0.187, P=0.831). Further comparison of complications using the Clavien-Dindo classification also showed no significant differences (Z=0.406, P=0.685). Conclusions: Both laparoscopic total abdominal overlap anastomosis and laparoscopic-assisted end-to-side anastomosis are feasible for radical surgery for Siewert Type II esophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma. Laparoscopic total abdominal overlap anastomosis achieves longer proximal and distal resection margins and better postoperative recovery; however, end-to-side anastomosis is more cost-effective.

Abstract
Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer deaths and imposes an enormous economic burden on patients. It is important to develop an accurate risk assessment model to determine the appropriate treatment for patients after an initial lung cancer diagnosis. The Cox proportional hazards model is mainly employed in survival analysis. However, real-world medical data are usually incomplete, posing a great challenge to the application of this model. Commonly used imputation methods cannot achieve sufficient accuracy when data are missing, so we investigated novel methods for the development of clinical prediction models. In this article, we present a novel model for survival prediction in missing scenarios. We collected data from 5,240 patients diagnosed with lung cancer at the Weihai Municipal Hospital, China. Then, we applied a joint model that combined a BN and a Cox model to predict mortality risk in individual patients with lung cancer. The established prognostic model achieved good predictive performance in discrimination and calibration. We showed that combining the BN with the Cox proportional hazards model is highly beneficial and provides a more efficient tool for risk prediction.

Abstract
Background: Circulatory imbalance of trace elements is frequent in end-stage renal disease (ESRD), leading to a deficiency of essential elements and excess of toxic elements. The present study aimed to investigate whether inulin-type fructans (ITFs) could ameliorate the circulatory imbalance by modulating gut microbiota and regulating the absorption and elimination of trace elements. Methods: Peritoneal dialysis patients were enrolled in a randomized crossover trial, undergoing interventions with ITFs (10 g d-1) and maltodextrin (placebo) over a 9-month period (with a 3-month washout). The primary outcomes included essential elements Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, Se, Sr, and Mo and potential toxic elements V, Cr, Ni, As, Cd, Ba, Tl, Pb, Th, and U in plasma. Secondary outcomes included the gut microbiome, short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), bile acids (BAs), and daily removal of trace elements through urine, dialysate and feces. Results: Among the 44 participants initially randomized, 29 completed the prebiotic, placebo or both interventions. The daily dietary intake of macronutrients and trace elements remained consistent throughout the study. The administration of 10 g d-1 ITFs significantly reduced plasma arsenic (As) by 1.03 μg L-1 (95%CI: -1.74, -0.33) (FDR-adjusted P = 0.045) down from the baseline of 3.54 μg L-1 (IQRs: 2.61-4.40) and increased the As clearance rate by urine and dialysis (P = 0.033). Positive changes in gut microbiota were also observed, including an increase in the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio (P = 0.050), a trend towards higher fecal SCFAs (P = 0.082), and elevated excretion of primary BAs (P = 0.035). However, there were no significant changes in plasma concentrations of other trace elements or their daily removal by urine, dialysis and feces. Conclusions: The daily administration of 10 g d-1 ITFs proved to be effective in reducing the circulating retention of As but demonstrated to be ineffective for other trace elements in ESRD. Abstract
BACKGROUND Diabetes mortality varies between coastal and inland areas in Shandong Province, China. However, evidence about the reasons for this disparity is limited. We assume that distinct environmental conditions may contribute to the disparities in diabetes mortality patterns between coastal and inland areas. METHOD Qingdao and Jinan were selected as typical coastal and inland cities in Shandong Province, respectively, with similar socioeconomic but different environmental characteristics. Data on diabetes deaths and environmental factors (i.e., temperature, relative humidity and air pollution particles with a diameter of 2.5 μm or less (PM2.5)) were collected from 2013 to 2020. Spatial kriging methods were used to estimate the aggregated diabetes mortality at the city level. A distributed lag non-linear model (DLNM) was used to quantify the possible cumulative and non-cumulative associations between environmental factors and diabetes mortality by age, sex and location. RESULTS In the coastal city (Qingdao), the maximum cumulative relative risks (RRs) of temperature and PM2.5 associated with diabetes deaths were 2.54 (95 % confidence interval (CI): 1.25-5.15), and 1.17 (95 % CI: 1.01-1.37) respectively, at lag 1 week. In the inland city (Jinan), only temperature exhibited significant cumulative associations with diabetes deaths (RR = 1.54, 95 % CI: 1.07-2.23 at 29 °C). Lower relative humidity (22 %-45 %) had a lag-specific association with diabetes deaths in inland areas at lag 3 weeks (RR = 1.33, 95 % CI: 1.03-1.70 at 22 %). CONCLUSION Despite the lower PM2.5 concentrations in the coastal location, diabetes mortality exhibited stronger links to environmental variables in the coastal city than in the inland city. These findings suggest that the control of air pollution could decrease the mortality burden of diabetes, even in the region with relatively good air quality. Additionally, the spatial estimation method is recommended to identify associations between environmental factors and diseases in studies with limited data.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the status of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection among young women without a history of vaccination in Shanghai, and analyze the related factors of HPV infection in this population. Methods: A total of 2 660 women aged 18-24 years old who had made an appointment for HPV vaccine at 36 community health service centers in Shanghai from July 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects. Basic information (including demographic characteristics, previous disease history, female menstrual and reproductive history, sexual life history, etc.) was collected by a self-filling electronic questionnaire. Cervical secretions were detected by HPV nucleic acid typing. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors related to high-risk HPV (HR-HPV) infection in the target population. Results: The age of the subjects was (23±1) years old, and the infection rate of HPV was 14.51% (386 cases), among which the infection rates of HR-HPV and low-risk HPV were 13.53% (360 cases) and 1.84% (49 cases), respectively. The main subtypes of HR-HPV infection were HPV52, 16, 58, 39 and 66. The multivariate logistic regression model analysis showed that compared with the control group, the OR (95%CI) values for HR-HPV infection in the group of married, earned less than 2 000 yuan/month, drank alcohol occasionally, gynecological disease history, had two or more sexual partners in the past year, and did not know whether the partners had other sexual partners were 0.41 (0.25-0.66), 0.39 (0.21-0.70), 1.45 (1.13-1.86), 1.29 (1.00-1.66), 2.18-5.18 (1.02-16.05), and 1.82 (1.31-2.54), respectively. Conclusion: The infection rate of HPV among women aged 18-24 years old in Shanghai remains at a high level. The main subtypes of HR-HPV infection are HPV52, 16, 58, 39 and 66. The marital status, economic income level, drinking status, gynecological disease history and sexual life history are related to HR-HPV infection.

Abstract
Importance Despite the recommendations of lung cancer screening guidelines and the evidence supporting the effectiveness of population-based lung screening, a common barrier to effective lung cancer screening is that the participation rates of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening among individuals with the highest risk are not large. There are limited data from clinical practice regarding whether opportunistic LDCT screening is associated with reduced lung-cancer mortality. Objective To evaluate whether opportunistic LDCT screening is associated with improved prognosis among adults with lung cancer in mainland China. Design, Setting, and Participants This cohort study included patients diagnosed with lung cancer at Weihai Municipal Hospital Healthcare Group, Weihai City, China, from 2016 to 2021. Data were analyzed from January 2022 to February 2023. Exposures Data collected included demographic indicators, tumor characteristics, comorbidities, blood indexes, and treatment information. Patients were classified into screened and nonscreened groups on the basis of whether or not their lung cancer diagnosis occurred through opportunistic screening. Main Outcomes and Measures Follow-up outcome indicators included lung cancer-specific mortality and all-cause mortality. Propensity score matching (PSM) was adopted to account for potential imbalanced factors between groups. The associations between LDCT screening and outcomes were analyzed using Cox regression models based on the matched data. Propensity score regression adjustment and inverse probability treatment weighting were used for sensitivity analysis. Results A total of 5234 patients (mean [SD] baseline age, 61.8 [9.8] years; 2518 [48.1%] female) with complete opportunistic screening information were included in the analytical sample, with 2251 patients (42.91%) receiving their lung cancer diagnosis through opportunistic screening. After 1:1 PSM, 2788 patients (1394 in each group) were finally included. The baseline characteristics of the matched patients were balanced between groups. Opportunistic screening with LDCT was associated with a 49% lower risk of lung cancer death (HR, 0.51; 95% CI, 0.42-0.62) and 46% lower risk of all-cause death (HR, 0.54; 95% CI, 0.45-0.64). Conclusions and Relevance In this cohort study of patients with lung cancer, opportunistic lung cancer screening with LDCT was associated with lower lung cancer mortality and all-cause mortality. These findings suggest that opportunistic screening is an important supplement to population screening to improve prognosis of adults with lung cancer.

Abstract
Epidemiology shows that the incidence of diabetes mellitus (DM) is increasing year by year globally. Proper interventions are highly aspired for diabetics to improve the quality of life and prevent development of chronic complications. Trace elements, also known as microelements, are chemical substances that are present in our body in minute amounts. They are necessitated by the body for growth, development and functional metabolism. For the past few years, trace element nanoparticles have aroused considerable interest as a burgeoning form of nanomedicines in antidiabetic applications. These microelement-based nanomedicines can regulate glucose metabolism in several ways, showing great potential for diabetes management. Starting from the pathophysiology of diabetes, the state-of-the-art of diabetes treatment, the physiological roles of trace elements, various emerging trace element nanoparticles specific for diabetes were comprehensively reviewed in this work. Our findings disclose that trace element nanoparticles can fight against diabetes by lowering blood glucose, promoting insulin secretion, alleviating glucose intolerance, improving insulin sensitivity, ameliorating lipid profile, anti-inflammation and anti-oxidant stress, and other mechanisms. In conclusion, trace element nanoparticles can be applied as nanomedicines or dietary modifiers for effective intervention for diabetes.

Abstract
Recombinant collagen is a pivotal topic in foundational biological research and epitomizes the application of critical bioengineering technologies. These technological advancements have profound implications across diverse areas such as regenerative medicine, organ replacement, tissue engineering, cosmetics and more. Thus, recombinant collagen and its preparation methodologies rooted in genetically engineered cells mark pivotal milestones in medical product research. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the current genetic engineering technologies and methods used in the production of recombinant collagen, as well as the conventional production process and quality control detection methods for this material. Furthermore, the discussion extends to foresee the strides in physical transfection and magnetic control sorting studies, envisioning an enhanced preparation of recombinant collagen-seeded cells to further fuel recombinant collagen production.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features of perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) of the lung. Methods: Eight PEComa cases of the lung diagnosed at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, Suzhou, China from July 2008 to December 2021 were collected and subject to immunohistochemical staining, fluorescence in situ hybridization and next generation sequencing. The relevant literature was reviewed and the clinicopathological features were analyzed. Results: There were 5 males and 3 females, aged from 18 to 70 years (mean 39 years). There were 3 cases of the right upper lung, 3 cases of the left lower lung, 1 case of the left upper lung and 1 case of the right middle lung. Seven cases were solitary and 1 case was multifocal (4 lesions). Seven cases were benign while one was malignant. The tumors were all located in the peripheral part of the lung, with a maximum diameter of 0.2-4.0 cm. Grossly, they were oval and well circumscribed. Microscopically, the tumor cells were oval, short spindle-shaped, arranged in solid nests, acinar or hemangiopericytoma-like patterns, with clear or eosinophilic cytoplasm. The stroma was rich in blood vessels with hyalinization. Coagulated necrosis and high-grade nuclei were seen in the malignant case, and calcification was seen in 2 cases. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for Melan A (8/8), HMB45 (7/8), CD34 (6/8), TFE3 (4/7), and SMA (3/8). All cases were negative for CKpan and S-100. TFE3 (Xp11.2) gene fusion was examined using the TFE3 break-apart fluorescence in situ hybridization in 5 cases, in which only the malignant case was positive. The next generation sequencing revealed the SFPQ-TFE3 [t(X;1)(p11.2;p34)] fusion. Follow-up of the patients ranged from 12 to 173 months while one patient was lost to the follow-up. The malignant case had tumor metastasis to the brain 4 years after the operation and then received radiotherapy. Other 6 cases had no recurrence and metastasis, and all the 7 patients survived. Conclusions: Most of the PEComas of the lung are benign. When there are malignant morphological features such as necrosis, high-grade nuclei or SFPQ-TFE3 gene fusion, close follow-up seems necessary.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the scanning time (ST) and accuracy of 10 repeated upper and lower dentition scans by four groups of operators with different professional backgrounds. METHODS There were a total of 32 participants, including dentists, nurses, postgraduates, and undergraduates (n=8). They received the same training about intraoral scanning and then performed 10 repeat scans on the plaster maxillary and mandibular dentition models in a manikin head, with the first five scans being the T1 phase and the last five scans being the T2 phase. Each ST was recorded. Trueness and precision were evaluated by root mean square (RMS) value gained from alignments of corresponding virtual models. For statistical analysis, the paired-sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation tests were employed (α=0.05). RESULTS Limiting the comparison in scan phase and scan target the sequence of STs for the four groups was the same (p<0.05), by which undergraduates, postgraduates, nurses, and dentists were in descending order. Undergraduates gained the best precision, followed by postgraduates, dentists, and nurses, in both maxillary and mandibular scanning (p<0.05). Compared with corresponding items of the T1 phase, the trueness of the T2 phase was much higher (p<0.05), while the ST of the T2 phase was much shorter (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The operator's professional background affects the precision and scanning time but not the trueness. Most dental personnel have good access to the intraoral scanner. As the number of scans increased, the accuracy and scanning efficiency also improved.

Abstract
The developmental process of spike is critical for spike fertility through affecting floret primordia fate in wheat; however, the genetic regulation of this dynamic and complex developmental process remains unclear. Here, we conducted a high temporal-resolution analysis of spike transcriptomes and monitored the number and morphology of floret primordia within spike. The development of all floret primordia in a spike was clearly separated into three distinct phases: differentiation, pre-dimorphism and dimorphism. Notably, we identified that floret primordia with meiosis ability at the pre-dimorphism phase usually develop into fertile floret primordia in the next dimorphism phase. Compared to control, increasing plant space treatment achieved the maximum increasement range (i.e., 50%) in number of fertile florets by accelerating spike development. The process of spike fertility improvement was directed by a continuous and dynamic regulatory network involved in transcription factor and genes interaction. This was based on the coordination of genes related to heat shock protein and jasmonic acid biosynthesis during differentiation phase, and genes related to lignin, anthocyanin and chlorophyll biosynthesis during dimorphism phase. The multi-dimensional association with high temporal-resolution approach reported here allows rapid identification of genetic resource for future breeding studies to realise the maximum spike fertility potential in more cereal crops.

Abstract
Background Improving the quality of life (QoL) of older adults is becoming an important global issue. However, very few studies have been focused on the relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and QoL in older adults with hypertension. The purpose of this study is to investigate (a) the status of QoL and (b) the mediating effect of social capital in the relationship between SES and QoL, among rural older adults with hypertension in China. Methods Using multistage stratified random sampling, a face-to-face questionnaire survey was conducted among rural older adults with hypertension in Shandong province of China from June to July 2021. Three typical measures representing SES were used, namely, annual household income, educational level, and employment status. Individual social capital and QoL were assessed by the Resource Generator-China Scale (RG-China) and a 34-item simplified Patient Report Outcome (PRO)-specific scale for older adults with hypertension, respectively. A total of 950 rural older adults with hypertension were included in the analysis. The mediation model based on bootstrap analyses was employed to explore the relationship between SES and QoL and the mediating role of social capital in the SES-QoL nexus. Results The sampled rural older adults with hypertension had an upper-middle level of QoL, and the average score was 132.57 ± 19.40. SES was positively correlated with both QoL and individual social capital; individual social capital was significantly positively correlated with QoL. Controlling for sociodemographic variables, SES was still significantly associated with individual social capital (β = 0.140, P < 0.001), and the higher the individual social capital, the better QoL (β = 0.153, P < 0.001). Individual social capital played a partially mediating role in the association between SES and QoL (indirect effect = 0.021, 95% CI: 0.010-0.038), which accounted for 9.38% of the total effect. Conclusion This study provides evidence that the effect of SES on QoL was partially mediated by individual social capital among rural older adults with hypertension in China. The government should pay more attention to the rural older hypertensive population with lower SES and strive to reduce the negative impact of poor SES on their QoL, based on effective strategies including improving their individual social capital.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Approximately half of patients with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer (BC) will develop brain metastases (BM) over time. Local therapy including stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) and whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) is the main initial treatment in malignant tumor patients with BM. However, more than 50% patients after radiotherapy in one year suffered intracranial recurrence. Pyrotinib, a small molecule, irreversible, pan-ErbB receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), has a high potency for controlling BM and reducing the occurrence of brain metastases in advanced HER2-positive BC patients. We hypothesized that SRT or WBRT combined with pyrotinib and capecitabine could decrease intracranial progression in HER2 positive BC with newly diagnosed BM. MATERIALS/METHODS In this prospective single-arm phase Ib/II trial (NCT04582968), eligible patients were assigned to either fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT) or whole-brain radiation therapy (WBRT), combined with pyrotinib and capecitabine. The primary endpoint was one-year CNS progression-free survival (PFS) rate. Secondary endpoints included intracranial objective response rate (IC-ORR) according to RANO-BM criteria, progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and evaluation of safety and neurocognitive function. RESULTS From January 2020 to August 2022, 40 patients were enrolled. Twenty-nine patients were treated with FSRT in 8 Gy per fraction with 3 to 5 fractions and 11 were treated with WBRT in 3 Gy per fraction with 10 fractions, and then received chemotherapy in a time frame starting from 0 to 7 days after radiotherapy. At a median follow-up of 17.3 months, 1-year CNS-PFS rate was 74.9% (95% CI 61.9-90.7%) and median CNS-PFS was 18 months (95% CI, 15.5 to NA months). One-year PFS rate was 66.9% (53.1-84.2%) and median PFS time was 17.6 months (95% CI 12.8-34.1 months). The best intracranial response rate (IC-ORR: complete response and partial response) was 92.5% (37/40). The most common grade 3 or worse toxicity was diarrhea (7.5%) and asymptomatic radiation necrosis was detected in 4 of 67(6.0%) lesions treated with FSRT. No differences of neurocognitive function evaluated by MMSE (Mini-Mental State Exam) were observed between different groups at any time point. CONCLUSION Radiotherapy combined with pyrotinib and capecitabine resulted in a promising efficacy that crossed the pre-specified boundary in patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer with brain metastases. This is the first prospective study showing the efficacy and safety of CNS radiotherapy concurrent with pyrotinib and capecitabine in patients with BM from HER2-positive breast cancer. Further investigation in a randomized controlled study is warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Recent studies identified several risk factors of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), including dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and obesity. But they were not so reliable and some studies contradicted with one another. Hence, a reliable method is urgently needed to explore exact factors that facilitated BPH development. METHODS The study was based on Mendelian randomization (MR) design. All participants were from the most recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) with large sample size. The causal associations between nine phenotypes (total testosterone level, bioavailable testosterone level, sex hormone-binding globulin, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hyper-tension, and body mass index) and BPH outcome were estimated. Two sample MR, bidirectional MR, and multivariate MR (MVMR) were performed. RESULTS Increase in bioavailable testosterone level was able to induce BPH based on nearly all combination methods [beta (95% confidence interval (CI)): 0.20 (0.06-0.34) for inverse variance weighted (IVW)]. The other traits seemed to interact with testosterone level and did not cause BPH generally. Higher triglycerides level was likely to raise bioavailable testosterone level [beta (95% CI): 0.04 (0.01-0.06) for IVW]. In MVMR model, bioavailable testosterone level was still associated with BPH occurrence [beta (95% CI) 0.27 (0.03-0.50) for IVW]. CONCLUSIONS We for the first time validated the central role of bioavailable testosterone level in the pathogenesis of BPH. The complex associations between other traits and BPH should be further investigated.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Higher neighbourhood greenness is associated with beneficial health outcomes, and short-term exposure to air pollution is associated with an elevated risk of stroke onset. However, little is known about their interactions. METHODS Daily data on stroke first onset were collected from 20 counties in Shangdong Province, China, from 2013 to 2019. The enhanced vegetation index (EVI) and concentrations of fine particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) were calculated for each individual at the village or community level based on their home address to measure their neighbourhood exposure to greenness and air pollution. EVI was categorised as low or high, and a time-stratified case-crossover design was used to estimate the percent excess risk (ER%) of stroke associated with short-term exposure to air pollution. We further stratified greenness on the basis of EVI values into quartiles and introduced interaction terms between air pollutant concentrations and the median EVI values of the quartiles to assess the effect of greenness on the associations between short-term exposure and stroke. RESULTS Individuals living in the high-greenness areas had weaker associations between total stroke risk and exposure to NO2 (low greenness: ER% = 1.765% [95% CI 1.205%-2.328%]; high greenness: ER% = 0.368% [95% CI -0.252% to 0.991%]; P = 0.001), O3 (low greenness: 0.476% [95% CI 0.246%-0.706%]; high greenness: ER% = 0.085% [95% CI -0.156% to 0.327%]; P = 0.011), and SO2 (low greenness: 0.632% [95% CI 0.138%-1.129%]; high greenness: ER% = -0.177% [95% CI -0.782% to 0.431%]; P = 0.035). CONCLUSION Residence in areas with higher greenness was related to weaker associations between air pollution and stroke risk, suggesting that effectively planning green spaces can improve public health.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of esophageal carcinoma with gland duct differentiation. Methods: The clinical, morphologic and immunohistochemical (IHC) features of eight cases of esophageal carcinoma with gland duct differentiation diagnosed from 2012 to 2022 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were summarized. Results: There were four males and four females, with a mean age of 68.5 (range 59-82) years. Two tumors were located in middle esophagus, five in the lower esophagus, and one in the cardia. The mean diameter was 2.4 cm (range 0.6-4.5 cm). The tumor had a bilayer epithelial structure, including the inner luminal epithelium and the outer basal epithelium. Immunohistochemistry showed that CK7 (8/8) and CK18 (8/8) were positive in the inner epithelium. p40 (8/8), p63 (8/8) and CK5/6 (8/8) were positive in the outer epithelium. SMA, calponin and CD117 were all negative. p53 mutants were found in all eight cases (strong and diffuse positivity in 6/8; complete loss of expression in 2/8). No columnar metaplasia, intestinal metaplasia and ectopic gastric mucosa were observed in the surface squamous epithelium in the cases. The mean follow-up time was 21.5 months (range 5-51 months). Seven patients survived and one patient died 31 months after surgery due to recurrence and liver metastasis. Conclusion: Esophageal carcinoma with esophageal gland duct differentiation is a rare tumor with unique histologic and IHC characteristics.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the incidence of delayed vaccination with the national immunization program vaccines among children aged 0-6 years in Xuhui District, Shanghai, and to evaluate the safety of delayed vaccination. Methods: A stratified random sampling was used to obtain six vaccination clinics in Xuhui District, Shanghai. The vaccination records of children 0-6 years from these six vaccination clinics were collected from the Shanghai Immunization Program Information Management System. Adverse events following immunization (AEFI) data were collected from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. Descriptive epidemiology was used to analyze the data. Children were divided into the timely vaccination group and delayed vaccination group according whether they were delayed in vaccination (received one month or more after the recommended age among children aged ≤1 year; received three months or more after the recommended age among children aged >1 year). The safety of four vaccination methods-individual vaccination, simultaneous vaccination, routine vaccination and combined vaccination-were further compared. Differences between groups were compared using chi-square test. Results: From 2019 to 2021, six vaccination clinics in Xuhui District administered 124 031 doses of the national immunization program vaccines among children aged 0-6 years, and delayed vaccinations accounted for 25.99% (32 234/124 031) of these doses. In 2020, the delayed vaccination rate during the first-level COVID-19 public health emergency response period in Shanghai was significantly higher than that in the same period in 2019 (34.70% vs. 24.19%, χ2=136.23, P<0.05). The delayed vaccination rate during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in 2021 was significantly higher than that in the same period in 2019 (25.27% vs. 22.55%, χ2=82.80, P<0.05). From 2019 to 2021, a total of 475 cases of AEFI were reported in six vaccination clinics, with a reported incidence of 382.97 per 100 000 doses, including 421 cases of common adverse reaction (88.63%, 339.43 per 100 000 doses), 51 cases of rare adverse reaction (10.74%, 41.12 per 100 000 doses) and 3 cases of coincidences (0.63%, 2.42 per 100 000 doses). The reported incidence of AEFI among delayed vaccinations was significantly lower than that among timely vaccinations (291.62 per 100 000 doses vs. 415.05 per 100 000 doses). The incidence of AEFI for the four delayed vaccination methods (individual vaccination, simultaneous vaccination, routine vaccination and combined vaccination) was lower than that for timely vaccination. There were significant differences between the groups except for the routine vaccination group (χ2=9.82, P<0.05; χ2=5.46, P<0.05; χ2=2.97, P>0.05; χ2=11.89, P<0.05). Conclusions: In Xuhui District of Shanghai, 25.99% of doses of the national immunization program vaccines administered to children 0-6 years were delayed. Delayed vaccination does not increase the risk of AEFI compared with timely vaccination.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although increasing evidence suggests that polyphenol helps regulate blood pressure (BP), evidence from large-scale and long-term population-based studies is still lacking. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to investigate the association between dietary polyphenol and hypertension risk in the China Health and Nutrition Survey (N = 11,056). METHODS Food intake was assessed using 3-d, 24-h dietary recalls and household weighing method; polyphenol intake was calculated by multiplying consumption of each food and its polyphenol content. Hypertension was defined as BP ≥ 140/90 mmHg, physicians' diagnosis, or taking antihypertension medications. HR and 95% CI were estimated using mixed-effects Cox models. RESULTS During 91,561 person-years of follow-up, a total of 3866 participants developed hypertension (35%). The lowest multivariable-adjusted HR (95% CI) of hypertension risk occurred in the third quartile intake, which was 0.63 (0.57, 0.70) for total polyphenol, 0.61 (0.55, 0.68) for flavonoid, 0.62 (0.56, 0.69) for phenolic acid, 0.46 (0.42, 0.51) for lignan, and 0.58 (0.52, 0.64) for stilbene, compared with the lowest quartile. The polyphenol-hypertension associations were nonlinear (all Pnonlinearity < 0.001), and different patterns were observed. U-shaped relations with hypertension were observed for total polyphenol, flavonoid, and phenolic acid, whereas L-shaped associations were observed for lignan and stilbene. Moreover, higher fiber intake strengthened the polyphenol-hypertension association, especially for lignan (P-interaction = 0.002) and stilbene (P-interaction = 0.004). Polyphenol-containing food, particularly vegetables and fruits rich in lignan and stilbene, were significantly associated with lower hypertension risk. CONCLUSIONS This study demonstrated an inverse and nonlinear association between dietary polyphenol, especially lignan and stilbene, and hypertension risk. The findings provide implications for hypertension prevention.

Abstract
We aimed to analyse cancer survival and its spatial distribution in Shandong Province. A total of 609,861 cancer cases from 2014 to 2016 were included in the analysis. Survival analysis was performed using strs in Stata. Spatial analysis was performed with GeoDa to determine measures of global and local spatial autocorrelation. Hotspot analysis was used to identify spatial clusters of high values (hotspots) and low values (cold spots) through ArcGIS. The 5-year relative survival rates were 37.85% for all cancers combined, 29.29% for males and 48.88% for females. After age standardisation, the survival rates were 34.47% for all cancers, 28.43% for males and 41.56% for females. Cancers with higher survival rates included thyroid (78.80%), breast (69.52%), uterus (64.51%) and bladder (62.54%) cancers. However, cancers with lower survival rates included pancreatic (11.34%), liver (13.19%), lung (18.39%), bone (19.71%), gallbladder (19.78%), oesophagus (24.52%), and stomach (28.85%) cancers and leukaemia (26.30%). Cancer survival rates in urban areas (37.53%) were higher than those in rural areas (32.83%). From the geographic distribution of cancer survival, we observed that the survival rate displayed a downward trend from east to west and from north to south. The hotspot analysis revealed that some counties of Qingdao, Jinan, Zibo, Dongying and Yantai cities were hotspots, whereas almost all counties of Linyi city and some counties of Weifang, Heze, Rizhao, and Dezhou cities were cold spots. In conclusion, the cancer survival rate in Shandong is still lower than that in China overall. The early diagnosis and treatment of lung and digestive tract cancers need to be further strengthened. Nevertheless, our results reflect a critical first step in obtaining and reporting accurate and reliable estimates of survival in Shandong.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the direct economic burden caused by measles cases in Shanghai from 2017 to 2019 and its influencing factors. Methods: A total of 161 laboratory-confirmed measles cases reported from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2019, in Shanghai were included in the study through the "Measles Surveillance Information Reporting and Management System" of the "China Disease Surveillance Information Reporting and Management System". Through telephone follow-up and consulting hospital data, the basic information of population, medical treatment situation, medical treatment costs and other information were collected, and the direct economic burden of cases was calculated, including registration fees, examination fees, hospitalization fees, medical fees and other disease treatment expenses, as well as transportation and other expenses of cases. The multiple linear regression model was used to analyze the main influencing factors of the direct economic burden. Results: The age of 161 measles cases M (Q1, Q3) was 28.21 (13.33, 37.00) years. Male cases (56.52%) were more than female cases (43.48%). The largest number of cases was≥18 years old (70.81%). The total direct economic burden of 161 measles cases was 540 851.14 yuan, and the per capita direct economic burden was 3 359.32 yuan. The direct economic burden M (Q1, Q3) was 873.00 (245.01, 4 014.79) yuan per person. The results of multiple linear regression model analysis showed that compared with other and unknown occupations, central areas and non-hospitalized cases, the direct economic burden of measles cases was higher in scattered children, childcare children, students, and cadre staff in the occupational distribution, suburban areas and hospitalized, with the coefficient of β (95%CI) values of 0.388 (0.150-0.627), 0.297 (0.025-0.569), 0.327 (0.148-0.506) and 1.031 (0.853-1.209), respectively (all P values<0.05). Conclusion: The direct economic burden of some measles cases in Shanghai is relatively high. Occupation, area of residence and hospitalization are the main factors influencing the direct economic burden of measles cases.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of immediate cytoreductive nephrectomy (CRN) followed by programmed cell death factor-1 (PD-1) inhibitors vs. deferred CRN after the administration of 4 cycles of neoadjuvant therapy using nivolumab preceding the debulking and postoperative chemotherapy in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). PATIENTS AND METHODS We recruited 84 patients with primary mRCC admitted to our Oncology Department from 2018 to 2020 and randomized them 1:1 to receive either CRN followed by nivolumab (control group) or 4 cycles of neoadjuvant therapy using nivolumab before CRN and postoperative chemotherapy (study group), with 42 patients in each group. The primary clinical endpoints were the clinical efficacy and safety of the PD-1 antibody. Clinical outcomes were assessed 3 months after treatment. RESULTS Patients were followed-up for 10-52 months, with a median follow-up period of 40.50 months. The control group reported 2 cases of complete remission and 10 cases of partial remission, with an objective response rate (ORR) of 28.57% (12/42). The study group reported 4 cases of complete remission and 14 cases of partial remission with an ORR of 42.86% (18/42). No significant differences in the ORR were identified between the two groups (p > 0.05). Progression-free survival of the patients was significantly extended from 30 months (19-51) to 43 months (38-76) after administrating the PD-1 inhibitors before the debulking (HR = 0.501, 95% CI: 0.266 to 0.942). There were no significant differences in the median survival of patients between the two groups [44 months (38-79) vs. 44 months (32-81)] (HR = 0.814, 95% CI: 0.412 to 1.612). The two protocols had a similar safety profile. CONCLUSIONS Nivolumab administration preceding delayed CRN provides significant progression-free survival benefits for patients with mRCC, but its impact on overall survival requires further investigations.

Abstract
For the dissimilar metal welding needs of TA2 titanium and Q235 steel, preliminary trials were conducted using laser welding methods, and the results showed that the addition of a copper interlayer and the bias of the laser beam toward the Q235 side allowed for an effective connection. The welding temperature field was simulated using the finite element method, and the optimum offset distance of 0.3 mm was obtained. Under the optimized parameters, the joint had good metallurgical bonding. Further SEM analysis showed that the microstructure of the bonding area between the weld bead and Q235 was a typical fusion weld pattern, while that of the bonding area between the weld bead and TA2 was in brazing mode. The microhardness of the cross-section showed complex fluctuations; the microhardness of the weld bead center was higher than that of the base metal due to the formation of a mixture microstructure of copper and dendritic Fe phases. The copper layer not involved in the weld pool mixing had almost the lowest microhardness. The highest microhardness was found at the bonding site of TA2 and the weld bead, mainly due to the formation of an intermetallic layer with a thickness of about 100 μm. Further detailed analysis revealed that the compounds included Ti2Cu, TiCu and TiCu2, showing a typical peritectic morphology. The tensile strength of the joint was approximately 317.6 MPa, reaching 82.71% of that of the Q235 and 75.44% of the TA2 base metal, respectively. The fracture occurred in the unmixed copper layer.

Abstract
The use of virtual reality (VR) in laboratory skill training is rapidly increasing. In such applications, users often need to explore a large virtual environment within a limited physical space while completing a series of hand-based tasks (e.g., object manipulation). However, the most widely used controller-based teleport methods may conflict with the users' hand operation and result in a higher cognitive load, negatively affecting their training experiences. To alleviate these limitations, we designed and implemented a locomotion method called ManiLoco to enable hands-free interaction and thus avoid conflicts and interruptions from other tasks. Users can teleport to a remote object's position by taking a step toward the object while looking at it. We evaluated ManiLoco and compared it with state-of-the-art Point & Teleport in a within-subject experiment with 16 participants. The results confirmed the viability of our foot- and head-based approach and better support concurrent object manipulation in VR training tasks. Furthermore, our locomotion method does not require any additional hardware. It solely relies on the VR head-mounted display (HMD) and our implementation of detecting the user's stepping activity, and it can be easily applied to any VR application as a plugin.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The effects of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on acute myocardial infarction (AMI) have been widely recognized. However, no studies have comprehensively evaluated future PM2.5-attributed AMI burdens under different climate mitigation and population change scenarios. We aimed to quantify the PM2.5-AMI association and estimate the future change in PM2.5-attributed AMI incident cases under six integrated scenarios in 2030 and 2060 in Shandong Province, China. METHODS Daily AMI incident cases and air pollutant data were collected from 136 districts/counties in Shandong Province from 2017 - 2019. A two-stage analysis with a distributed lag nonlinear model was conducted to quantify the baseline PM2.5-AMI association. The future change in PM2.5-attributed AMI incident cases was estimated by combining the fitted PM2.5-AMI association with the projected daily PM2.5 concentrations under six integrated scenarios. We further analyzed the factors driving changes in PM2.5-related AMI incidence using a decomposition method. RESULTS Each 10 μg/m3 increase in PM2.5 exposure at lag05 was related to an excess risk of 1.3 % (95 % confidence intervals: 0.9 %, 1.7 %) for AMI incidence from 2017 - 2019 in Shandong Province. The estimated total PM2.5-attributed AMI incident cases would increase by 10.9-125.9 % and 6.4-244.6 % under Scenarios 1 - 3 in 2030 and 2060, whereas they would decrease by 0.9-5.2 % and 33.0-46.2 % under Scenarios 5 - 6 in 2030 and 2060, respectively. Furthermore, the percentage increases in PM2.5-attributed female cases (2030: -0.3 % to 135.1 %; 2060: -33.2 % to 321.5 %) and aging cases (2030: 15.2-171.8 %; 2060: -21.5 % to 394.2 %) would wholly exceed those in male cases (2030: -1.8 % to 133.2 %; 2060: -41.1 % to 264.3 %) and non-aging cases (2030: -41.0 % to 45.7 %; 2060: -89.5 % to -17.0 %) under six scenarios in 2030 and 2060. Population aging is the main driver of increased PM2.5-related AMI incidence under Scenarios 1 - 3 in 2030 and 2060, while improved air quality can offset these negative effects of population aging under the implementation of the carbon neutrality and 1.5 °C targets. CONCLUSION The combination of ambitious climate policies (i.e., 1.5 °C warming limits and carbon neutrality targets) with stringent clean air policies is necessary to reduce the health impacts of air pollution in Shandong Province, China, regardless of population aging.

Abstract
In the Multi beam source (MBS) of our Multi Beam Scanning Electron Microscope (MBSEM), an aperture lens array (ALA) splits the emission cone of the Schottky field emitter into multiple beamlets. When the apertures in the ALA are close to each other, the ALA can introduce aberrations to these beamlets through the electrostatic interaction of neighbouring apertures with each aperture's lens field. When the apertures are arranged in a square grid pattern, the aberration causes fourfold astigmatism. The effect on the beam spot is analyzed through a combination of 3D simulations and experimental validation. To counterbalance the fourfold astigmatism, a correction scheme is proposed in which a slightly non-round profile is applied to the aperture lenses.

Abstract
Objective This research aim was to evaluates the role of the pre-ablation neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) as predictors of distant metastases in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Methods A retrospective analysis was given to 140 patients with DTC who received 131I remnant ablation after surgery. The patients were divided into two groups based on the existence of distant metastasis. Results The two groups showed no significant difference in age, gender, WBCs, neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils and whether the tumor was multifocal. In the univariate analysis, significant differences were found in tumor size (p=0.021), lymphocyte (p=0.012), NLR (p=0.027), and LMR (p=0.007). According to the ROC curves, NLR had an AUC of 0.612 ± 0.097 with a cut-off value of 1.845, sensitivity of 60.0%, and specificity of 66.2% (p=0.027). LMR had an AUC of 0.638 ± 0.095 with a cut-off value of 4.630, sensitivity of 84.6%, and specificity of 35.4% (p=0.007). In the multivariate analysis, larger tumor size (OR=5.246, 95% CI 1.269-10.907, p=0.009) and higher NLR (OR=2.087, 95% CI 0.977-4.459, p=0.034) were statistically significant for distant metastases. Conclusion This research reveals that pre-ablation NLR and tumor size are significantly statistically correlated with distant metastases in patients with DTC.

Abstract
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is one of the effective methods to control the development of myopia in children and adolescents. The mechanical pressure of eyelids on the Ortho-K lens and the hydraulic effect of tears under the Ortho-K lens can alter the curvature or shape of the cornea, which can correct refractive error and control myopia development progress. The tear film is a thin layer of liquids evenly distributing in the conjunctival sac. Wearing an Ortho-K lens can decrease the tear film stability, which will influence the Ortho-K. In this article, the relevant domestic and overseas research results are summarized and analyzed, aiming to sort out and discuss the effection of tear film stability on the fitting, shaping, safety, and visual quality of the Ortho-K, as well as to provide suggestions for clinicians and researchers.

Abstract
Combined crown and post-and-core treatment often requires multiple intermittent appointments and takes a long time. This article describes a novel method for simultaneously fabricating a custom glass fiber post-and-core and the corresponding crown. The critical step, defined as a post-and-core virtual try-in, is to construct a virtual crown abutment that mimics the profile of a real one gained after post-cementation and tooth preparation. The fully digital workflow optimizes the treatment and saves time by accomplishing restorations on the first visit.

Abstract
SCOPE Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), an important proatherogenic uremic toxin, is oxidized by hepatic-flavin monooxygenases from gut microbiome-generated trimethylamine (TMA). The present study aims to explore whether manipulating the gut microbiota by inulin-type fructans (ITFs) can reduce circulating TMAO levels in peritoneal dialysis patients. METHODS AND RESULTS This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover trial with 10 g day-1 ITFs intervention for 3 months in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients. The gut microbiome is measured, and TMA-producing gene clusters are annotated using shotgun metagenomic sequencing. Fecal and plasma TMA, plasma TMAO, and daily urine excretion and dialysis removal of TMAO are measured. Finally, 22 participants complete the trial. The daily intake of macronutrients and TMAO precursors is comparable during the prebiotics, washout, and placebo interventions. The ITFs intervention increases the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) ratio (p = 0.049) of gut microbiome. However, no significant influences are observed on fecal TMA content, circulating TMAO levels, or TMA-producing gene clusters, including choline TMA-lyase (CutC/D), carnitine monooxygenase (CntA/B), and betaine reductase (GrdH). CONCLUSIONS Intervention with 10 g day-1 of ITFs for 3 months is not sufficient to reduce plasma TMAO levels in peritoneal dialysis patients, but it improves the gut microbiome composition.
