Abstract
INTRODUCTION We systematically reviewed extant studies evaluating the efficacy and tolerability of xanomeline and xanomeline-trospium (KarXT) for treatment of adults with schizophrenia. METHODS In accordance with PRISMA guidelines, articles were systematically searched for in databases and clinical trial registries. RESULTS A total of 4 preclinical trials and 3 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included in this review. A 4-week RCT observed a difference of 24.0 points (SD 21.0) in the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) total score between xanomeline and placebo groups (p = 0.039). A 5-week RCT observed PANSS total score changes from baseline to week 5, including -17.4 and -5.9 points in KarXT and placebo groups, respectively (LSMD -11.6 points; 95% CI -16.1 to -7.1; p < 0.001; d = 0.75). Another 5-week RCT observed PANSS total score changes from baseline to week 5, including -21.2 (SE 1.7) and -11.6 (SE 1.6) points in KarXT and placebo groups, respectively (LSMD -9.6; 95% CI -13.9 to -5.2; p < 0.0001; d = 0.61). Side effects include constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, and dry mouth. CONCLUSION KarXT offers an innovative non-D2 blocking approach, representing a promising treatment avenue for schizophrenia.

Abstract
Auxetic materials are in high demand for advanced applications due to their relatively rare negative Poisson's ratio in two-dimensional materials. This study investigates the structural, mechanical, electronic, optical and photocatalytic properties of the AsBiTe3monolayer(ML) using first-principles calculations. Through analysis of phonon dispersion curves,ab-initiomolecular dynamics simulations, and Born conditions, we have confirmed the thermal, dynamic, and mechanical stability of the AsBiTe3monolayer. The study of the mechanical properties of this material revealed significant anisotropy and a bidirectional in-plane negative Poisson's ratio (NPR). In addition, electronic band structures calculated, with and without spin-orbit coupling (SOC) using the HSE functional, indicate that this monolayer exhibits the characteristics of an indirect-gap semiconductor around 1.17 and 1.32 eV, respectively. Notably, by assessing the optical properties of AsBiTe3monolayer, it has been found that this monolayer has a strong light-harvesting capability with an absorption coefficient higher than 105 cm-1in the visible region. Fascinatingly, under a biaxial 1%and 4%tensile and -2% compressive strain, the band edge of the AsBiTe3monolayer extends across the redox potential of water at pH = 0, 7 and 14, respectively. This suggests that this monolayer holds promise as a potential material for catalytic water splitting. These results should inspire further experimental and theoretical research, aimed at fully exploring the potential applications of this new class of 2D materials.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIM Triple negative breast cancer belongs to the most aggressive breast cancer forms. Histone deacetylases (HDACs) constitute a class of enzymes that exhibit a significant role in breast cancer genesis and progression. In this study, we aimed at assessing the clinical importance of HDAC-2 in triple negative breast cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 138 breast cancer specimens were examined on an immunohistochemical basis. A statistical analysis was performed in order to examine the association between HDAC-2 and the survival and clinicopathological features of the patients. RESULTS Increased HDAC-2 expression was observed in every fourth case of triple negative breast cancer with positive HDAC-2 staining, whereas only 12 out of 98 non-triple negative breast cancer samples showed high HDAC-2 expression. HDAC-2 overexpression correlated with prolonged overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) in triple negative breast cancer. CONCLUSIONS High HDAC-2 levels in triple negative breast cancer seem to positively influence patient survival, disease stage and recurrence.

Abstract
To determine how vulnerable various pea genotypes are to leafminer infestation, a field experiment was conducted. On the basis of the presence of mines on five randomly selected leaflets from the upper, middle and lower parts of the plant, observations of larvae were made throughout the growing season. The total phenols were determined using the method described by Bray and Thorpe (1954, Analysis of phenolic compounds of interest in metabolism. Methods Biochem Anal. 52:1-27) and absorbance at 650 nm was measured using a spectrophotometer. There was a negative correlation between leafminer infestation and total phenol content. The UHF Pea-12 genotype, characterised by the lowest total phenol concentration (20.87 mg/100 g), exhibited the highest level of leaflet infestation (17.33%). Although UHF Pea-1 genotype had the lowest mean leaflet infestation (6.58%), it also had the highest phenol concentration (41.91 mg per 100 g). In context with this, the present study highlights the significance of host-plant resistance (HPR) in pest management.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Serpiginous-like choroiditis (SLC) denotes ocular tuberculosis (TB), in the presence of positive tuberculin skin test (TST) or interferon gamma release assay (IGRA). METHODS Retrospective review of SLC patients from a TB-endemic country, with negative TST and IGRA tests, but responsive to anti-TB therapy. RESULTS Fifteen patients (13 bilateral) with active SLC were included. Eleven (73.3%) patients had received corticosteroids ± immunosuppressive therapy prior to presentation. Chest radiographic abnormalities were found in four (26.7%) patients. We treated all patients with a combination of anti-TB therapy (ATT) and corticosteroids. Paradoxical worsening was noted in nine (60%) patients, complete resolution of lesions in 12 (80%), persistent inflammation (post-ATT) in one, while two were yet to complete ATT. None had recurrence after complete resolution of lesions (median follow-up of 71 weeks [range 15-676 weeks]). CONCLUSIONS TB-SLC may present with negative TST and IGRA tests but may still have clinical appearance, and treatment response, like test-positive disease.

Abstract
Introduction Appendicitis is a common surgical condition that can be difficult to diagnose due to its varied clinical presentations. Surgical removal of the inflamed appendix is often necessary, and the appendix is sent for histopathological assessment to confirm the diagnosis. However, in some cases, the analysis may return a negative result for acute inflammation, known as a negative appendicectomy (NA). The definition of NA varies among experts. While negative appendicectomies are not ideal, they are accepted by surgeons to reduce the rate of perforated appendicitis, which can have severe consequences for patients. A study was conducted to investigate the rates of negative appendicectomies and their impact at a local district general hospital in Cavan, Republic of Ireland. Methods The study was conducted retrospectively from January 2014 to December 2019 on patients who were admitted with suspected appendicitis and underwent appendicectomy for appendicitis, regardless of age and sex. The researchers excluded patients who underwent elective, interval, and incidental appendicectomies. Data were collected on patient demographics, duration of symptoms prior to presentation, the intraoperative appearance of the appendix, and the histology results of the appendix specimens. Descriptive statistics and the Chi-squared test were used for data analysis with the help of IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 26. Results The study retrospectively reviewed 876 patients who underwent an appendicectomy for suspected appendicitis between January 2014 and December 2019. The age distribution of patients was non-uniform, with 72% presenting before the third decade. The overall perforated appendicitis rate was 7.08%, and the overall negative appendicectomy (NA) rate was 21.3%. A subset analysis showed a statistically significant lower NA rate in females than in males. The NA rate decreased significantly over time and has been sustained since 2014 at around 10%, which is consistent with other published studies. The majority of the histology findings were uncomplicated appendicitis. Discussion This article discusses the challenges of diagnosing appendicitis and the need to reduce unnecessary surgeries. Laparoscopic appendectomy is the standard treatment, with an average cost of £2222.53 per patient in the UK. However, patients with negative appendicectomies (NA) have longer hospital stays and higher morbidity than uncomplicated cases, making it crucial to reduce unnecessary surgeries. The clinical diagnosis of appendicitis is not always straightforward, and the rate of perforated appendicitis increases with a longer duration of symptoms, particularly pain. The selective use of imaging in suspected appendicitis could reduce NA rates, but a statistical difference has not been proven. Scoring systems like the Alvarado score have limitations and cannot be relied upon alone. Retrospective studies have limitations, and biases and confounding variables must be considered. Conclusion The study found that a thorough investigation of patients, particularly with preoperative imaging, can decrease the rate of unnecessary appendectomies without increasing the rate of perforation. This could save costs and reduce harm to patients.

Abstract
The Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) has good ability to identify the nature of lesions on prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, some lesions are still reported as PI-RADS 4 and 5 but are biopsy-proven benign. Herein, we aimed to summarize the reasons for the negative prostate biopsy of patients who were assessed as PI-RADS 4 and 5 by biparameter MRI. We retrospectively sorted out the prostate MRI, treatment, and follow-up results of patients who underwent a biparameter MRI examination of the prostate in The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (Nanjing, China) from August 2019 to June 2021 with PI-RADS 4 and 5 but a negative biopsy. We focused on reviewing the MRI characteristics. A total of 467 patients underwent transperineal prostate biopsy. Among them, biopsy pathology of 93 cases were negative. After follow-up, 90 patients were ruled out of prostate cancer. Among the 90 cases, 40 were considered to be overestimated PI-RADS after review. A total of 22 cases were transition zone (TZ) lesions with regular appearance and clear boundaries, and 3 cases were symmetrical lesions. Among 15 cases, the TZ nodules penetrated the peripheral zone (PZ) and were mistaken for the origin of PZ. A total of 17 cases of lesions were difficult to distinguish from prostate cancer. Among them, 5 cases were granulomatous inflammation (1 case of prostate tuberculosis). A total of 33 cases were ambiguous lesions, whose performance was between PI-RADS 3 and 4. In summary, the reasons for "false-positive MRI diagnosis" included PI-RADS overestimation, ambiguous images giving higher PI-RADS, diseases that were really difficult to distinguish, and missed lesion in the initial biopsy; and the first two accounted for the most.

Abstract
UNLABELLED The study aimed to assess the impact of clinical symptoms and cognitive impairment on disability in patients with paranoid schizophrenia (PS). METHODS 108 patients with schizophrenia were included (66 male and 42 female). Their average age was 38.86 ± 10.02 years and the disease duration was 12.80 ± 8.20 years, with mean disease onset of 24 years. Clinical symptoms were assessed with the PANSS, and cognitive performance was measured using a seven-item neurocognitive battery. The disability level of the subjects was assessed using the World Health Organization-Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0 (WHO-DAS 2.0). The relation between the variables studied was assessed using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (rs) at a probability level of p < 0.05. RESULTS An increase in symptom severity resulted in worsening of the "participation in society" (r = 0.56, p < 0.01), "life activities-household" (r = 0.55, p < 0.01), and "getting along with people" (r = 0.59, p < 0.01) WHO-DAS 2.0 domains. Positive symptoms (13.89 ± 3.48) correlated strongly with "getting along with people" (r = 0.55, p < 0.01), "life activities-household" (r = 0.58, p < 0.01), and "participation in society" (r = 0.62, p < 0.01), and negative symptoms (14.25 ± 4.16) with "participation in society" (r = 0.53, p < 0.01) and "life activities-household" (r = 0.48, p < 0.01). Symptoms of disorganization (15.67 ± 4.16) had the highest impact on "life activities-household" (r = 0.81, p < 0.01), "getting along with people" (r = 0.56, p < 0.05), and "participation in society" (r = 0.65, p < 0.01). Episodic memory (r = -0.28, p < 0.01) was remotely related to comprehension and communication. The information processing speed (rs = 0.38, p < 0.01), visual memory (rs = -0.30, p < 0.01), and focused executive functions showed moderate correlations with all domains on the WHO-DAS 2.0 scale (rs = 0.38, p < 0.01). Attention (rs = -0.33, p < 0.01) was moderately related to community activities. Semantic (rs = -0.29, p < 0.01) and literal (rs = -0.27, p < 0.01) verbal fluency demonstrated weak correlations with "cognition-understanding", "getting along with people", and "participation in society". CONCLUSION Symptoms of disorganization and disturbed executive functions contribute most to disability in patients with schizophrenia through impairment of real-world functioning, especially in social interactions and communication. Severe clinical symptoms (negative and disorganization-related ones) as well as deficits in executive function, verbal memory, and verbal fluency cause the biggest problems in the functional domains of interaction with other people and participation in society.

Abstract
Individuals high in self-reported Intolerance of Uncertainty (IU) tend to view uncertainty as unbearable and stressful. Notably, IU is transdiagnostic, and high levels of IU are observed across many different emotional disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression). Research has primarily focused on how IU evokes and modulates emotional states such as fear and anxiety. However, recent research suggests that IU may have relevance for a broader range of emotional states. Here, an online survey was conducted to examine whether IU evokes and modulates a range of negative (e.g., fear/anxiety, sadness/upset, anger/frustration, disgust) and positive (e.g., happiness/joy, excitement/enthusiasm, surprise/interest) emotional states. Findings within a community sample (n = 231) revealed that individuals with higher levels of IU report: (1) that uncertainty in general and uncertainty under ambiguity are more likely to evoke negative emotional states and less likely to evoke positive emotional states, (2) that uncertainty under risk is less likely to evoke positive emotional states, and (3) that uncertainty heightens existing negative emotional states and dampens existing positive emotional states. Importantly, these IU-related findings remained when controlling for current experiences of general distress, anxious arousal, and anhedonic depression. Taken together, these findings suggest that IU is involved in evoking and modulating a wide array of emotional phenomena, which likely has relevance for transdiagnostic models and treatment plans for emotional disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM Several research works show that anxiety is more common in women, low-income classes, and middle-aged and elderly populations. The present study aimed to investigate the role of positive and negative memories in patients' anxiety referred to the dental clinics, offices, and schools of Kerman, Iran, in 2018-2019. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this cross-sectional, descriptive, analytical study, the participants were selected among individuals referred to the dental offices, schools, and clinics of Kerman, Iran. In this study, 500 questionnaires were distributed among the participants (based on census method), and of these, 482 of which were reviewed (response rate = 96.4%). The questionnaire used in this study contained four categories of questions, including demographic information, general questions about dentistry, Corah's Dental Anxiety Scale, and Autobiographical Memory Questionnaire. Analysis of variance, t-test, and Chi-square test were used to analyze. RESULTS Overall, 281 participants were female, and 201 were male. Based on the findings, dental visits were enjoyable and pleasant experiences for 154 participants, and 165 patients were anxious while the dentist prepared for a restorative treatment. This study showed that people with negative memories had more anxiety. Anxiety was also significantly associated with positive memories, higher education, and gender (female) (P < 0.05). Also, the most negative memories of dental treatments were associated with increased anxiety about dental treatments in adults (P < 0.05), while positive memories did not have a relationship any with decreased anxiety (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION The most negative memories of dental treatments were associated with increased anxiety about dental treatments in adults, while positive memories did not have any expected inverse relationship with anxiety.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The test-negative design is commonly used to estimate influenza and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine effectiveness (VE). In these studies, correlated COVID-19 and influenza vaccine behaviors may introduce a confounding bias where controls are included with the other vaccine-preventable acute respiratory illness (ARI). We quantified the impact of this bias on VE estimates in studies where this bias is not addressed. METHODS We simulated study populations under varying vaccination probabilities, COVID-19 VE, influenza VE, and proportions of controls included with the other vaccine-preventable ARI. Mean bias was calculated as the difference between estimated and true VE. Absolute mean bias in VE estimates was classified as low (<10%), moderate (10% to <20%), and high (≥20%). RESULTS Where vaccination probabilities are positively correlated, COVID-19 and influenza VE test-negative studies with influenza and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) ARI controls, respectively, underestimate VE. For COVID-19 VE studies, mean bias was low for all scenarios where influenza represented ≤25% of controls. For influenza VE studies, mean bias was low for all scenarios where SARS-CoV-2 represented ≤10% of controls. Although bias was driven by the conditional probability of vaccination, low VE of the vaccine of interest and high VE of the confounding vaccine increase its magnitude. CONCLUSIONS Where a low percentage of controls is included with the other vaccine-preventable ARI, bias in COVID-19 and influenza VE estimates is low. However, influenza VE estimates are likely more susceptible to bias. Researchers should consider potential bias and its implications in their respective study settings to make informed methodological decisions in test-negative VE studies.

Abstract
Objectives: To estimate SARS-CoV-2 RNA clearance time among non-severe COVID-19 patients and explore factors associated with delayed negative conversion. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at the COVID-19 unit of a tertiary care center in the Western region of Saudi Arabia. Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) confirmed COVID-19 patients diagnosed between April 1 and June 30, 2020, were considered. The primary outcome was the time (days) from disease onset to first negative RT-PCR, which was analyzed using Kaplan–Meier and Cox regression survival methods. Demographic data, clinical history, baseline clinical, radiological and laboratory findings and management, and outcome data were collected and analyzed as factors associated with the viral RNA clearance time. Results: One hundred and forty-four patients were included. The mean (standard deviation [SD]) age was 36.93 (14.41) years, 50.7% were females, and 45.1% were healthcare workers. COVID19 was asymptomatic, mild and moderate in 11.1%, 71.5% and 17.4% of the participants, respectively. Fever (59.4%) and cough (58.0%) were the dominant onset symptoms. The mean viral RNA clearance time was 22.9 days (SD = 8.6; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 21.5–24.3 days). Extended clearance time was associated with older age (mean = 24.0 vs. 22.0 days; log-rank = 0.037), married status (23.2 vs. 22.6 days; log-rank = 0.021), working in health sector (24.2 vs. 21.8 days; log-rank = 0.006), and having a chronic disease (24.8 vs. 21.9 days; log-rank = 0.028), compared to their counterparts, respectively. In the adjusted model, the job sector was the only factor that was independently associated with clearance time. Non-healthcare sector showed hazard ratio 1.8 (95% CI = 1.3–2.7; log-rank = 0.002) with reference to healthcare sector. Conclusion: SARS-CoV-2 RNA clearance time is likely to be longer in non-severe COVID-19 patients, representing an additional risk for the virus dissemination among the community and calling for higher caution among the population.

Abstract
Although enzymatic creatinine methods are subject to fewer interferences than traditional Jaffe creatinine methods, every method in clinical chemistry has limitations. We report, for the first time in the literature, a case of an immunoglobulin M (IgM) paraproteinaemia causing an undetectably low creatinine result on the Roche enzymatic assay. This interference did not occur with other enzymatic creatinine methods produced by Abbott and Siemens or the Roche Jaffe, VITROS dry slide and liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) creatinine methods. IgM interference was confirmed as patient serum precipitated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) and anti-IgM antiserum yielded detectable Roche enzymatic creatinine results comparable to unaffected methods. The patient's serum formed an obvious precipitate when mixed with reagent one of the Roche enzymatic creatinine method. This is in contrast to a report of positive interference from IgM paraproteinaemia in a different enzymatic creatinine method, which showed that a precipitate formed when mixing blood with reagent two. As each patient's paraprotein has a unique structure, it is possible that there are variations in the chemical characteristics of IgM paraproteins between patients. This, as well as IgM-class antibodies' tendency to form multimers and aggregates, can lead to unpredictable assay interferences and precipitation tendencies between different manufacturers of enzymatic creatinine reagents and their incubation steps. This case highlights the importance of continuing to question and investigates results that do not fit the clinical picture, especially as more laboratories switch from primarily using traditional Jaffe creatinine methods to enzymatic creatinine methods.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), the deliberate and self-inflicted damage of body tissue, typically serves an emotion regulation function. Both negative and positive affectivity have been associated with NSSI, as has low distress tolerance. In the current study, we tested whether relationships between both negative and positive affectivity and NSSI are moderated by the four facets of distress tolerance (tolerance, absorption, appraisal, regulation) captured by the Distress Tolerance Scale. METHODS A sample of 531 university students completed well-validated measures of NSSI, negative affectivity, positive affectivity, and distress tolerance. RESULTS Findings indicate that negative and positive affectivity, as well as the appraisal (i.e. negative perceptions of distress) and absorption (i.e. allocation of attention to distress) facets of distress tolerance, were directly associated with NSSI. Positive affectivity and appraisal also interacted in differentiating participants with recent, lifetime and no history of NSSI. Specifically, the association between negative perceptions of distress and self-injury was weaker at high levels of positive affectivity. Positive affectivity and absorption also interacted to differentiate between individuals with no history of NSSI and individuals who recently engaged in NSSI. Specifically, positive affectivity was negatively associated with self-injury, but only among individuals who allocate less attention to their distress. CONCLUSIONS Considering the independent roles of negative and positive affectivity alongside specific facets of distress tolerance and their interactions with emotional experience, may enhance understanding of NSSI. Prevention and intervention initiatives that assist regulation of negative affectivity, increase positive affectivity, and improve distress tolerance, may reduce the likelihood of engaging in self-injury.HighlightsNegative and positive affectivity are independently associated with NSSIAppraisal and absorption facets of distress tolerance are associated with NSSIPositive affectivity moderates associations between appraisal and absorption and NSSI.

Abstract
Uncertainty and emotion are an inevitable part of everyday life and play a vital role in mental health. Yet, our understanding of how uncertainty and emotion interact is limited. Here, an online survey was conducted (n = 231) to examine whether uncertainty evokes and modulates a range of negative and positive emotions. The data show that uncertainty is predominantly associated with negative emotional states such as fear/anxiety. However, uncertainty was also found to modulate a variety of other negative (i.e., sadness/upset, anger/frustration, and confusion) and positive (i.e., surprise/interest and excited/enthusiastic) emotional states, depending on the valence of an anticipated outcome (i.e., negative and positive) and the sub parameter of uncertainty (i.e., risk and ambiguity). Uncertainty increased the intensity of negative emotional states and decreased the intensity of positive emotional states. These findings support prior research suggesting that uncertainty is aversive and associated with negative emotional states such as fear and anxiety. However, the findings also revealed that uncertainty is involved in eliciting and modulating a wide array of emotional phenomena beyond fear and anxiety. This study highlights an opportunity for further study of how uncertainty and emotion interactions are conceptualised generally and in relation to mental health.

Abstract
Envisioning the future of positive psychology (PP) requires looking at its past. To that end, I first review prior critiques of PP to underscore that certain early problems have persisted over time. I then selectively examine recent research to illustrate progress in certain areas as well as draw attention to recurrent problems. Key among them is promulgation of poorly constructed measures of well-being and reliance on homogeneous, privileged research samples. Another concern is the commercialization of PP, which points to the need for greater oversight and quality control in profit-seeking endeavors. Looking ahead, I advocate for future science tied to contemporary challenges, particularly ever-widening inequality and the pandemic. These constitute intersecting catastrophes that need scientific attention. Such problems bring into focus "neglected negatives" that may be fueling current difficulties, including greed, indifference, and stupidity. Anger, which defies easy characterization as positive or negative, also warrants greater scientific study. Going forward I advocate for greater study of domains that likely nurture good lives and just societies - namely, participation in the arts and encounters with nature, both currently under study. Overall, my entreaty to PP is to reckon with persistent problems from its past, while striving toward a future that is societally relevant and virtuous.

Abstract
Negative schizotypal traits potentially can be digitally phenotyped using objective vocal analysis. Prior attempts have shown mixed success in this regard, potentially because acoustic analysis has relied on small, constrained feature sets. We employed machine learning to (a) optimize and cross-validate predictive models of self-reported negative schizotypy using a large acoustic feature set, (b) evaluate model performance as a function of sex and speaking task, (c) understand potential mechanisms underlying negative schizotypal traits by evaluating the key acoustic features within these models, and (d) examine model performance in its convergence with clinical symptoms and cognitive functioning. Accuracy was good (> 80%) and was improved by considering speaking task and sex. However, the features identified as most predictive of negative schizotypal traits were generally not considered critical to their conceptual definitions. Implications for validating and implementing digital phenotyping to understand and quantify negative schizotypy are discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Contextual processing dysfunction in patients with schizophrenia (SCZ) is not uniform and task-dependent. In SCZ, studies on the rod and frame test (RFT), which evaluates contextual modulation of verticality perception, are sparse. A main study that utilized a two-alternative forced choice design for judging rod verticality reported equivalent strength of RFT contextual modulation in healthy controls and SCZ. The current study aims to uncover any potential differences in contextual modulation between controls and SCZ with an adjustment method on a computerized RFT. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 17 healthy controls and 15 SCZ aligned an oriented rod to their perceived vertical with a computer mouse under four randomized frame presentations: absent frame, non-tilted (Frame0°), or tilted by 18 degrees leftward (Frame-18°) or rightward (Frame+18°). Rod deviation error was assigned a negative or positive value when aligned leftward or rightward, respectively, of 0°. Signed and absolute errors, the rod and frame effect (RFE), and intra-individual variability (inconsistency) were used for analysis. RESULTS There was no group difference in rod alignment errors or derived measures, except that SCZ displayed greater inconsistency in rod alignment, compared to controls. The negative symptom scale (PANSS-N) scores correlated positively with the variability measure and with unsigned Frame-18° error. CONCLUSIONS Only the variability measure was sensitive enough to distinguish between controls and SCZ. SCZ with more severe negative symptoms had larger variability in rod alignment, probably reflecting a state of indifference. The larger deviation errors only with a leftward tilted frame, as PANSS-N scores increased, may indicate a lateralized attentional abnormality that is correlated with severity of symptoms in SCZ.

Abstract
Background ST72-SCCmecIV, a community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) strain in Korea, originated in the community and has been spreading in health care settings. Herein, we describe the clinical and microbiological characteristics of patients with hospital-acquired MRSA bacteremia (MRSAB) caused by community-associated strains. Methods We analyzed hospital-acquired MRSAB cases caused by ST72-SCCmecIV using a prospective cohort of patients with SAB in a tertiary hospital in Korea from July 2008 to December 2018. We compared the clinical and microbiological characteristics of ST72-SCCmecIV with ST5-SCCmecII, a representative hospital-associated genotype strain. Results Of the 1782 S. aureus bacteremia (SAB) cases, 628 (35.2%) were hospital-acquired MRSAB. Of the 628 isolates, 431 (68.6%) were ST5-SCCmecII and 152 (24.2%) were ST72-SCCmecIV. Patients with ST72-SCCmecIV were younger than those with ST5-SCCmecII and less likely to have a history of recent surgery, antibiotic treatment, nasal MRSA colonization, and central venous catheter placement. Compared with ST5-SCCmecII, ST72-SCCmecIV isolates were more likely to have vancomycin MICs ≤1.0 mg/L (P < .001). Osteoarticular infection as the site of infection (7.2% [11/152] vs 1.4% [6/431]) was more common in patients with ST72-SCCmecIV. There were no significant differences in the rate of recurrence (≤90 days), persistent bacteremia (≥7 days), or 30- and 90-day mortality rates between the 2 groups. Conclusions Osteoarticular infections were more prevalent in ST72-SCCmecIV MRSAB. Mortality rates between the ST72-SCCmecIV and ST5-SCCmecII groups were not significantly different.

Abstract
Major theories of hemisphere asymmetries in facial expression processing predict right hemisphere dominance for negative facial expressions of disgust, fear, and sadness, however, some studies observe left hemisphere dominance for one or more of these expressions. Research suggests that tasks requiring the identification of six basic emotional facial expressions (angry, disgusted, fearful, happy, sad, and surprised) are more likely to produce left hemisphere involvement than tasks that do not require expression identification. The present research investigated this possibility in two experiments that presented six basic emotional facial expressions to the right or left hemisphere using a divided-visual field paradigm. In Experiment 1, participants identified emotional expressions by pushing a key corresponding to one of six labels. In Experiment 2, participants detected emotional expressions by pushing a key corresponding to whether an expression was emotional or not. In line with predictions, fearful facial expressions exhibited a left hemisphere advantage during the identification task but not during the detection task. In contrast to predictions, sad expressions exhibited a left hemisphere advantage during both identification and detection tasks. In addition, happy facial expressions exhibited a left hemisphere advantage during the detection task but not during the identification task. Only angry facial expressions exhibited a right hemisphere advantage, and this was only observed when data from both experiments were combined. Together, results highlight the influence of task demands on hemisphere asymmetries in facial expression processing and suggest a greater role for the left hemisphere in negative expressions than predicted by previous theories.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To assess the impact of blood cultures negative infective endocarditis (BCNIE) on in-hospital mortality. METHODS Prospective multicentre study with retrospective analysis of a Spanish cohort including adult patients with definite IE. Cardiac implantable devices infection were excluded. Comparisons between blood cultures positive and BCNIE groups were performed to analyse in-hospital mortality. RESULTS 1001 cases were included of which 83 (8.3%) had BCNIE. Alternative microbiological diagnosis was achieved for 39 (47%) out 83 cases. The most frequent identifications were: Coxiella burnetii (11; 28.2%), Tropheryma whipplei (4; 10.3%), Streptococcus gallolyticus (4;10.3%) and Staphylococcus epidermidis (3; 7.7%). Surgery was performed more frequently in BCNIE group (57.8 vs. 36.9%, p < .001). All-cause in-hospital mortality rate was 26.7% without statistical difference between compared groups. BCNIE was not associated to worse mortality rate in Cox regression model (aHR = 1.37, 95% CI 0.90-2.07, p = .14). Absence of microbiological diagnosis was also not associated to worse in-hospital prognosis (aHR = 1.62, 95% CI 0.99-2.64, p = .06). CONCLUSIONS In our cohort, BCNIE was not associated to greater in-hospital mortality based in multivariate Cox regression models. The variables most frequently associated with mortality were indicated but not performed surgery (aHR = 2.48, 95% CI 1.73-3.56, p < .001), septic shock (aHR = 2.24, 95% CI 1.68-2.99, p < .001), age over 65 years (aHR = 1.88, 95% CI 1.40-2.52, p < .001) and complicated endocarditis (aHR = 1.79, 95% CI 1.36-2.37, p < .001).

Abstract
Two cases of visceral leishmaniasis are presented; one patient was from an endemic region and visceral leishmaniasis was suspected clinically, while the other was from a non-endemic region and it was not suspected clinically. Bone marrow examination was negative in both cases and both showed different morphological pictures in the liver biopsies. These are discussed. Importance of travel history is also highlighted even if it is in distant past.

Abstract
Breast cancer is the leading malignancy and the second most common cause of
mortality in women. Although there have been advances in identifying biomarkers
as potential targets for therapy, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) continues
to have a poorer prognosis than the other receptor subtypes. The most common
sites of metastasis are bone, liver, lung, and brain. We present a patient with
known TNBC presenting with nausea and vomiting in whom computed tomography
revealed a right-side pelvic mass causing hydronephrosis. Biopsy was consistent
with TNBC of the ureter, an unusual site for breast cancer involvement. She
required ureteral stent placement to relieve obstruction and has had good
response to paclitaxel. Hydronephrosis due to malignancy presents significant
risk of morbidity and mortality due to compromised renal function and must be
resolved promptly to avoid compromise of renal function.

Abstract
Background Serum creatinine is a widely used biomarker for evaluating renal function. Sarcosine oxidase enzymatic (SOE) analysis is currently the most widely used method for the detection of creatinine. This method was negatively interfered with by calcium dobesilate, causing pseudo‐reduced results. The aim of this study was to explore a new method to alleviate the negative interference of this drug on creatinine detection. Method We formulated eight drug concentrations and 12 creatinine concentrations from serum. The SOE method, the new method, and the Jaffe method were used for detection in five systems. Creatinine biases were analyzed under the conditions with or without the interference of calcium dobesilate, at consistent or inconsistent creatinine concentrations. Creatinine concentrations were also analyzed at three medical decision levels (MDLs). Results Calcium dobesilate had negative interference in creatinine SOE analysis. With the increase in calcium dobesilate concentrations, the negative bias increases. The new BG method showed an anti‐negative interference effect. In the Roche system, the BG method reduced the negative bias from −71.11% to −16.7%. In the Abbott system, bias was reduced from −45.15% to −2.74%. In the Beckman system, the bias was reduced from −65.36% to −7.58%. In the Siemens system, the bias was reduced from −58.62% to −7.58%. In the Mindray system, the bias was reduced from −36.29% to −6.84%. Conclusion The new method alleviated the negative interference of calcium dobesilate in creatinine SOE detection. The negative bias could be reduced from −60% or −70% to less than −20%.

Abstract
Currently, RT-PCR is the gold standard for diagnosing SARS-CoV-2 infection. However, due to the time-consuming laboratory tests and the low positivity rate of RT-PCR, it cannot be an ideal screening tool for infected population. In this review article, we have reviewed studies related to RT-PCR and CT chest and we would like to give our recommendations. Depending upon the patient's clinical symptoms and radiology imaging typical of viral pneumonia compatible with COVID-19 infection, clinicians need to consider isolation of these patients early even if the RT-PCR test is negative.

Abstract
Light chain amyloidosis (AL) causes irreversible multi-organ damage if not diagnosed early in the disease process. Fat pad biopsy is thought to be a highly sensitive screening test in systemic AL cases, especially if greater than three organs are involved. We present a case of a 64-year-old female who was admitted to the hospital with worsening heart and kidney failure, anasarca, increased free serum lambda light chains, and a negative fat pad biopsy for amyloidosis. Later, she developed asystole, bradycardia, severe hypotension, and respiratory distress. Because X-rays of her calvarium showed multiple osteolytic lesions, a bone marrow biopsy was planned to assess for multiple myeloma. Due to her non-reassuring vitals, the biopsy was not attempted, and she passed away several weeks later. Autopsy findings identified the cause of death as multiple system organ failure due to systemic AL. Through microscopic examination, pathologists found amyloid deposits in her heart, kidneys, rectum, thyroid, adrenals, bone marrow, liver, and spleen. Postmortem fat pad biopsy was negative; however, bone marrow biopsy demonstrated clusters of CD138-positive cells, confirming plasma cell dyscrasia. In cases with a negative fat pad biopsy, an additional superficial or involved organ biopsy should be pursued to establish a diagnosis of amyloidosis if strong clinical suspicion exists.

Abstract
Compared to our understanding of positive prediction error signals occurring due to unexpected reward outcomes, less is known about the neural circuitry in humans that drives negative prediction errors during omission of expected rewards. While classical learning theories such as Rescorla-Wagner or temporal difference learning suggest that both types of prediction errors result from a simple subtraction, there has been recent evidence suggesting that different brain regions provide input to dopamine neurons which contributes to specific components of this prediction error computation. Here, we focus on the brain regions responding to negative prediction error signals, which has been well-established in animal studies to involve a distinct pathway through the lateral habenula. We examine the activity of this pathway in humans, using a conditioned inhibition paradigm with high-resolution functional MRI. First, participants learned to associate a sensory stimulus with reward delivery. Then, reward delivery was omitted whenever this stimulus was presented simultaneously with a different sensory stimulus, the conditioned inhibitor (CI). Both reward presentation and the reward-predictive cue activated midbrain dopamine regions, insula and orbitofrontal cortex. While we found significant activity at an uncorrected threshold for the CI in the habenula, consistent with our predictions, it did not survive correction for multiple comparisons and awaits further replication. Additionally, the pallidum and putamen regions of the basal ganglia showed modulations of activity for the inhibitor that did not survive the corrected threshold.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To formulate clinical pathways for identifying clinically significant prostate cancer (csPC) and avoiding insignificant prostate cancer (isPC) in those without suspicious regions of interest on multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) of the prostate. METHODS A retrospective review identified patients with negative mpMRI who underwent subsequent transperineal prostate biopsy across two centres. Patient characteristics and association with biopsy results were evaluated using univariate and multivariate regression analyses. RESULTS A total of 144 patients were identified as having negative mpMRI and undergoing subsequent transperineal prostate biopsy; 18% (25/144) of the cohort were found to have csPC. Logistic regression analysis failed to identify statistically significant predictive factors. In this cohort, if all patients with prostate-specific antigen > 3.0 were biopsied the least amount of csPC is missed, at 20% (5/25) however all isPC would be diagnosed. The least amount of isPC is diagnosed with a biopsy threshold of >15% from the European Randomized Study of Screening for Prostate Cancer calculator with 20% (5/25) of isPC diagnoses made however only 10.5% (2/19) csPC would be diagnosed. A biopsy threshold of >5% risk reduces the number of csPC missed to 37% (7/19) however increases isPC diagnoses to 54% (13/24) of the population. CONCLUSION False-negative rates of prostate MRI for csPC are significant within our cohort at 18%. The decision to biopsy should be made in conjunction with a risk profile acceptable by the patient and clinician. The current study demonstrates that there is a need to balance the risk of missing csPC and harm of diagnosing isPC.

Abstract
The patient had several close contacts with friends from Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic. His mother and father had close contact with him. His father was later diagnosed with COVID-19 infection after a positive reverse transcription PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The patient and his mother were diagnosed as suspected cases of COVID-19 based on a history of exposure, clinical manifestation, and imaging examination. However, the patient was tested more than three times with the reverse transcription PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 RNA, and the results were negative each time. COVID-19 should be suspected, regardless of SARS-CoV-2 test negativity, for recent close contact with a confirmed case and respiratory symptoms.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has demonstrated efficacy against antipsychotic-refractory auditory verbal hallucinations (AVH) in schizophrenia. The duration of persistence of benefit is not well characterized. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-one adults with schizophrenia and medication-refractory AVH were treated with 2-3 mA tDCS in 30 min sessions, twice a day, 6 days a week, for 2-4 weeks. The anode was sited over F3 and the cathode midway between T3 and P3 in the 10-20 EEG system. Patients were assessed until a 4-month study endpoint using two auditory hallucination rating scales and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS-N). RESULTS Auditory hallucinations were moderately reduced by tDCS with 25%-29% improvement evident by the end of the 2nd week and another 10% improvement between week 2 and 4 months. There was no loss of benefit at the end of the 4-month study. There was also a small (11%) but statistically significant improvement in PANSS-N scores. CONCLUSIONS Although this study is limited by the nonblind, uncontrolled design, the results suggest that tDCS, as delivered, holds promise for treating refractory AVH in schizophrenia; the benefits persist beyond the short term.

Abstract
PURPOSE To determine whether horizontal orientation of the intraocular lens optic-haptic junctions has an effect on the incidence of pseudophakic negative dysphotopsia. METHODS Single-centre prospective double-masked randomized controlled trial. 220 eyes of 201 participants undergoing routine cataract surgery were randomized to receive their intraocular lens either orientated with the optic-haptic junctions at 180° ('horizontal') or without manipulation following implantation (control). Patients were excluded according to age (<19 and > 99 years), coexisting eye disease affecting visual function and insufficient cognitive function to complete the study. In the fourth postoperative week, a telephone interview was conducted to determine rates of negative dysphotopsia. The data were analysed to provide the relative risk of negative dysphotopsia with horizontal orientation of the intraocular lens (IOL) optic-haptic junctions compared with standard treatment. RESULTS Orientating the IOL optic-haptic junctions horizontally halved the incidence of pseudophakic negative dysphotopsia in the fourth postoperative week (9/110 in the intervention group; 18/110 in the control group; RR: 0.50, 95% confidence interval: 0.235-1.064, p = 0.072). The overall incidence of negative dysphotopsia was 12.2% (27/220 participating eyes). No intraoperative adverse effects of intraocular lens rotation were reported. CONCLUSION The simple intraoperative manoeuvre of rotating the intraocular lens to orientate the optic-haptic junctions at 180° may be a safe and effective measure to reduce the risk of developing postoperative pseudophakic negative dysphotopsia in the first postoperative month. This is the first report that demonstrates the benefit of horizontal optic-haptic junction positioning to be sustained beyond the first postoperative day.

Abstract
Negative symptoms are a critical, but poorly understood, aspect of schizophrenia. Measurement of negative symptoms primarily relies on clinician ratings, an endeavor with established reliability and validity. There have been increasing attempts to digitally phenotype negative symptoms using objective biobehavioral technologies, eg, using computerized analysis of vocal, speech, facial, hand and other behaviors. Surprisingly, biobehavioral technologies and clinician ratings are only modestly inter-related, and findings from individual studies often do not replicate or are counterintuitive. In this article, we document and evaluate this lack of convergence in 4 case studies, in an archival dataset of 877 audio/video samples, and in the extant literature. We then explain this divergence in terms of "resolution"-a critical psychometric property in biomedical, engineering, and computational sciences defined as precision in distinguishing various aspects of a signal. We demonstrate how convergence between clinical ratings and biobehavioral data can be achieved by scaling data across various resolutions. Clinical ratings reflect an indispensable tool that integrates considerable information into actionable, yet "low resolution" ordinal ratings. This allows viewing of the "forest" of negative symptoms. Unfortunately, their resolution cannot be scaled or decomposed with sufficient precision to isolate the time, setting, and nature of negative symptoms for many purposes (ie, to see the "trees"). Biobehavioral measures afford precision for understanding when, where, and why negative symptoms emerge, though much work is needed to validate them. Digital phenotyping of negative symptoms can provide unprecedented opportunities for tracking, understanding, and treating them, but requires consideration of resolution.

Abstract
Individuals often predict consequences, particularly emotional consequences, according to emotional or non-emotional signals conveyed by environmental cues (i.e., emotional and non-emotional cues, respectively). Some of these cues signify the consequences with certainty (i.e., certain cues), whereas others do not (i.e., uncertain cues). Several event-related potential (ERP) studies regarding non-emotional cues have suggested that the effects of cue uncertainty on attention to emotional events occur in both perception and evaluation processes. However, due to the limitations of previous studies, it is unclear what the effects of cue uncertainty would be in an emotional cue condition. Moreover, it is uncertain whether the effects of cue uncertainty are affected by cue valence (i.e., emotional and non-emotional cues). To address these questions, we asked participants to view cues and then to view emotional (positive or negative) pictures. The cues either did or did not indicate the emotional content of the picture. In the emotional cue condition, happy and fearful faces were used as certain cues indicating upcoming positive and negative pictures, respectively, and neutral faces were used as uncertain cues. In the non-emotional cue condition, scrambled faces outlined in red and blue indicated upcoming positive and negative pictures, respectively, and scrambled faces outlined in green served as uncertain cues. The results showed that for negative pictures, ERP responses in a time range between 60 and 1,000 ms were shifted to a more negative direction in a certain condition than in the uncertain condition when the cues were emotional. However, the effect was the reverse for positive pictures. This effect of cue uncertainty was similar in the non-emotional cue—negative condition. In contrast, there was no effect of cue uncertainty in the non-emotional cue—positive condition. Therefore, the findings indicate that cue uncertainty modulates attention toward emotional events when the events are signified by emotional cues. The findings may also suggest that cue valence modulates the effects of cue uncertainty on attention to emotional events.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease in which dendritic cells (DCs) play a pivotal role by inducing Th1/Th17 immune responses; however, the regulation of DC activation in psoriasis remains largely unknown. Previously we found that the level of soluble CD100 was increased in sera of psoriasis patients, and CD100 promoted the activation of inflammasome in keratinocytes. In the present study, CD100 knockout mice were utilized for generation of imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriatic dermatitis, with the result that skin inflammation in the early, but not late, phase of the psoriatic dermatitis was significantly exacerbated compared to that in wild-type controls. This was attributed mainly to the deficiency of CD100 in hematopoietic cells. Bone marrow-derived DCs, but not T cells or keratinocytes, from CD100 knockout mice produced significantly increased levels of IL-1β, IL-36, and IL-23 upon stimulation with IMQ in a plexin-B2-dependent manner. Moreover, the surface level of plexin-B2 on DCs of psoriasis patients was lower than that of healthy individuals, and CD100 attenuated IMQ-induced production of IL-1β and IL-36 from monocyte-derived DCs of psoriasis patients. Our results uncovered a negative regulatory mechanism for DCs activation in psoriasis, which was mediated via CD100-plexin-B2 in a cell type- and receptor-specific manner. © 2020 Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland. Abstract
Previous studies have shown that expectancy incongruence in emotional stimuli influences the encoding (i.e., the first stage of memory processing) of the stimuli. However, it is unknown about whether expectancy incongruence influences later stages of memory processing, such as recognition. To this end, expectancy cues were presented prior to emotional pictures. Most often, the cues accurately indicated the emotional consequences of the pictures, but in some cases the consequence was incongruent with the expectations, and a picture from another emotional category was presented. Afterward, participants completed an unexpected recognition task in which old and novel pictures were not preceded by expectancy cues. The results showed that, in the encoding phase, expectancy incongruence reduced response accuracy when categorizing pictorial emotions, and the effect was smaller for neutral pictures than for negative pictures. ERP results showed stronger and weaker responses to expectancy incongruent pictures compared to congruent pictures in time ranges related to the encoding-related early and middle late positive potential (LPP), respectively. In the subsequent recognition phase, d' scores were higher for incongruent neutral pictures than for congruent ones. Expectancy incongruence enlarged the P2 response but reduced the recognition-related early LPP response for neutral pictures. However, effects of expectancy incongruence were not seen for negative pictures. Therefore, the findings in the present study indicate that negative expectations influence the later recognition of expectancy incongruent neutral events, whereas negative events are more resistant to the effects of expectation incongruence.

Abstract
Experiments often challenge the null hypothesis that an intervention, for instance application of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS), has no effect on an outcome measure. In conventional statistics, a positive result rejects that hypothesis, but a null result is meaningless. Informally, however, researchers often do find null results meaningful to a greater or lesser extent. We present a model to guide interpretation of null results in NIBS research. Along a "gradient of surprise," from Replication nulls through Exploration nulls to Hypothesized nulls, null results can be less or more surprising in the context of prior expectations, research, and theory. This influences to what extent we should credit a null result in this greater context. Orthogonal to this, experimental design choices create a "gradient of interpretability," along which null results of an experiment, considered in isolation, become more informative. This is determined by target localization procedure, neural efficacy checks, and power and effect size evaluations. Along the latter gradient, we concretely propose three "levels of null evidence." With caveats, these proposed levels C, B, and A, classify how informative an empirical null result is along concrete criteria. Lastly, to further inform, and help formalize, the inferences drawn from null results, Bayesian statistics can be employed. We discuss how this increasingly common alternative to traditional frequentist inference does allow quantification of the support for the null hypothesis, relative to support for the alternative hypothesis. It is our hope that these considerations can contribute to the ongoing effort to disseminate null findings alongside positive results to promote transparency and reduce publication bias.

Abstract
Necrotizing fasciitis is a rapidly spreading infection of the soft tissue, which carries significant morbidity and mortality. This condition is treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics, irrigation and surgical debridement of the affected area, and hemodynamic support. Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) has been utilized after surgical debridement to promote wound healing, especially when significant debridement has occurred. Newer forms of NPWT such as negative pressure wound therapy with instillation and dwell time (NPWTi-d) have shown even greater promise by reducing the time to clear infections and promoting greater debridement with fewer procedures. This case report demonstrates the successful use of NPWTi-d on a 56-year-old man with a severe case of necrotizing fasciitis of the right lower extremity after extensive debridement. Despite the significant loss of soft tissue and the circumferential devitalization of the lower leg, this patient was able to accept a skin graft in approximately four weeks after admission to the hospital. Three months after initial presentation, his wounds were completely epithelialized and healing well. The advantages of using NPWTi-d include decreased dressing changes, increased wound granulation, and faster infection clearance. The disadvantages of such systems include increased cost, additional technical requirements, and required inpatient monitoring of the system. Despite these disadvantages, the authors believe that NPWTi-d is a reasonable choice for patients similar to the one presented in this case report.

Abstract
NPHS2, encoding podocin, is the major gene implicated in steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome. Its c.686G>A, p.R229Q variant is the first human variant with a mutation-dependent pathogenicity; it is only pathogenic when trans-associated to specific mutations. Secondary to its high allele frequency in the European, South Asian, African, and Latino populations, its benign trans-associations can be accidentally identified in affected patients. Distinguishing pathogenic and benign p.R229Q associations can be challenging. In this paper, we present the currently known pathogenic and benign associations, and show that a rare p.R229Q association can be considered pathogenic if the variant in trans meets the following criteria; it affects the 270-351 residues and alters but does not disrupt the oligomerization, its p.R229Q association is found in a family with slowly progressing focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, but is expected to be rare in the general population (<1:106 ). We show that >15% of the p.R229Q associations identified so far in patients are benign.

Abstract
Tissue damage following injury triggers the processes of coagulation, inflammation and healing. In tissues surrounding the bone, the result of the healing process is a scar, while bone tissue has a unique ability to achieve shape, strength and pre-injury function. Bone healing is a process of regeneration rather than classic recovery. The result of this process is the formation of new, healthy bone tissue instead of a scar. Many factors can inhibit or impair the bone healing process, and their influence is critical during the stages of inflammation and angiogenesis and finally on the clinical outcome. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) play an essential role associated with their analgesic potency and anti-inflammatory effects. NSAIDs are also the most often used drugs in patients who require pain control and inflammation reduction due to musculoskeletal diseases or injures. Although their analgesic effect is well documented, NSAIDs also interfere with bone healing; therefore, the relative benefits and disadvantages connected with their administration should be taken into consideration. Despite the negative effect, NSAIDs have beneficial properties, but their clinical benefits in relation to dose and time of use are still unclear. Therefore, in this review, we focus on bone healing with relation to the impact of NSAIDs.

Abstract
More than 25 years ago it was established that a HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) infection was the causal factor for cervical cancer. Based on this discovery HPV vaccines were developed and primary HPV screening proposed. The impact of 10 years prophylactic HPV vaccination with the bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines has been tremendous. There is a reduction of HPV infections 16/18, 31, 33 and 45 of respectively 89%, 94%, 79% and 83%. High grade lesions have been reduced by 85% and warts by 90%. Within 20 to 30 years a reduction in cervical cancer incidence, by 70-80%, is to be expected. The 9 valent HPV vaccine, which was introduced last year and is reimbursed for girls between 12 - 19 years, is expected to increase the figures by 14 to 18%. Recently, doubt has been created regarding primary HPV screening. Since 2017, the annual screening report in Belgium suggests that 15% of the cervical cancers were HPV negative. Previous published data in Belgium (period 2001 - 2008) showed that the number of HPV negative tumors is less than half of the suggested figure (7%). Frequent reasons for false negative HPV tumors are the used HPV testing methods and the misclassification of endometrial cancers or metastasis as cervical cancers. Other explanations are the loss of HPV expression and the existence of cervical cancers independent of HPV. The incidence of HPV negative tumors doesn't give any information about the performance of primary HPV screening. Data from randomized controlled trials are very clear: if a woman has a normal cytology and no HPV infection or normal cytology and a HPV infection, then her chance of developing a CIN3 + lesion after 5 years is, respectively, 0,2% and 6%. In Belgium, primary HPV screening with dual-stain cytology triage would considerably reduce the incidence (36%) and mortality (40%) of cervical cancer. There is necessity to improve the screening as we are entering an era of vaccinated women who will get screened. Standardized high quality HPV testing is the key stone for improvement. HPV screening preferable with triage markers is superior to cytology, despite the fact that there are HPV negative cancers. The fact that there are HPV negative cancers should not undermine all idea's regarding primary HPV screening.

Abstract
Many researchers realize that it's unrealistic to isolate language learning and processing from emotions. However, few studies on language learning have taken emotions into consideration so far, so that the probable influences of emotions on language learning are unclear. The current study thereby aimed to examine the effects of emotional states on novel word learning and their dynamic changes with learning continuing and task varying. Positive, negative or neutral pictures were employed to induce a given emotional state, and then participants learned the novel words through association with line-drawing pictures in four successive learning phases. At the end of each learning phase, participants were instructed to fulfill a semantic category judgment task (in Experiment 1) or a word-picture semantic consistency judgment task (in Experiment 2) to explore the effects of emotional states on different depths of word learning. Converging results demonstrated that negative emotional state led to worse performance compared with neutral condition; however, how positive emotional state affected learning varied with learning task. Specifically, a facilitative role of positive emotional state in semantic category learning was observed but disappeared in word specific meaning learning. Moreover, the emotional modulation on novel word learning was quite dynamic and changeable with learning continuing, and the final attainment of the learned words tended to be similar under different emotional states. The findings suggest that the impact of emotion can be offset when novel words became more and more familiar and a part of existent lexicon.

Abstract
Avian-like H5N1 canine influenza virus (CIV) causes severe respiratory infections in dogs. However, the mechanism underlying H5N1 CIV infection in dogs is unknown. The present study aimed to identify differentially expressed miRNAs and mRNAs in the lungs and trachea in H5N1 CIV-infected dogs through a next-generation sequencing-based method. Eighteen 40-day-old beagles were inoculated intranasally with CIV, A/canine/01/Guangdong/2013 (H5N1) at a tissue culture infectious dose 50 (TCID50) of 106, and lung and tracheal tissues were harvested at 3 and 7 d post-inoculation. The tissues were processed for miRNA and mRNA analysis. By means of miRNA-gene expression integrative negative analysis, we found miRNA–mRNA pairs. Lung and trachea tissues showed 138 and 135 negative miRNA–mRNA pairs, respectively. One hundred and twenty negative miRNA–mRNA pairs were found between the different tissues. In particular, pathways including the influenza A pathway, chemokine signaling pathways, and the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway were significantly enriched in all groups in responses to virus infection. Furthermore, dysregulation of miRNA and mRNA expression was observed in the respiratory tract of H5N1 CIV-infected dogs and notably, TLR4 (miR-146), NF-κB (miR-34c) and CCL5 (miR-335), CCL10 (miR-8908-5p), and GNGT2 (miR-122) were found to play important roles in regulating pathways that resist virus infection. To our knowledge, the present study is the first to analyze miRNA and mRNA expression in H5N1 CIV-infected dogs; furthermore, the present findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying influenza virus infection.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Surgical resection is shown to present the best chance of cure in the treatment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). However, the appropriate length of the negative margin remains unclear. The aim of the present meta-analysis was to investigate whether a clear margin of 10 mm or more (≥10 mm) conferred any survival benefit over a margin of less than 10 mm (<10 mm) in patients with resected ICC. METHODS The meta-analysis was conducted in adherence with the PRISMA guidelines. PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched to identify eligible studies published in English from the initiation of the databases to February 2016. Overall survival rates were pooled by using the hazard ratio and the corresponding 95% confidence interval (CI). Random-effect models were utilized because of between-study heterogeneity. RESULTS Six studies (eight cohorts) reporting on 712 patients were analyzed: 269 (37.80%) were in the 10 mm or more negative margin group, and 443 (62.20%) were in the less than 10 mm negative margin group. The pooled hazard ratio for the less than 10 mm group was found to be 1.59 (95% CI: 1.09-2.32) when this group was compared with the 10 mm or more group (reference), with moderate between-study heterogeneity (I = 45.30%, P = 0.07). Commensurate results were identified by sensitivity analysis. CONCLUSION The result of this meta-analysis suggests a long-term survival (overall survival) advantage for negative margins of 10 mm or more in comparison with negative margins less than 10 mm for patients undergoing surgical resection of ICC.

Abstract
AIM The aim of this study was to investigate whether the number of removed lymph nodes was associated with survival of patients with node-negative early cervical cancer and to analyze the prognostic significance of clinical and pathologic features in these patients. METHODS Patients with FIGO stage IA-IIB cervical cancer who underwent radical hysterectomy with lymphadenectomy without receiving preoperative therapy were reviewed retrospectively. Patients were all proved to have lymph-node-negative disease and classified into five groups based on the number of nodes removed. The Kaplan-Meier method and Cox's proportional hazards regression model were used in prognostic analysis. RESULTS The final dataset included 359 patients: 45 (12.5%) patients had ≤10 nodes removed, 93 (25.9%) had 11-15, 98 (27.3%) had 16-20, 64 (17.8%) had 21-25, and 59 (16.4%) had >25 nodes removed. There was no association between the number of nodes removed and survival of patients with node-negative early cervical cancer (χ2 = 6.19, P = 0.185). Similarly, subgroup analyses for FIGO stage IB1-IIB also showed that the number of lymph nodes was not significantly related to survival in each stage. Multivariate analyses showed that histology and depth of invasion were independent prognostic factors for survival in these patients. CONCLUSION If a standardized lymphadenectomy is performed, the number of lymph nodes removed is not an independent prognostic factor for patients with node-negative early cervical cancer. Our study suggests that there is inconclusive evidence to support survival benefit of complete lymphadenectomy among these patients.

Abstract
Schizotypy, defined in terms of commonly occurring personality traits related to the schizophrenia spectrum, has been an important construct for understanding the neurodevelopment and stress-diathesis of schizophrenia. However, as schizotypy nears its sixth decade of application, it is important to acknowledge its impressively rich literature accumulating outside of schizophrenia research. In this article, we make the case that schizotypy has considerable potential as a conceptual framework for understanding individual differences in affective and social functions beyond those directly involved in schizophrenia spectrum pathology. This case is predicated on (a) a burgeoning literature noting anomalies in a wide range of social functioning, affiliative, positive and negative emotional, expressive, and social cognitive systems, (b) practical and methodological features associated with schizotypy research that help facilitate empirical investigation, and (c) close ties to theoretical constructs of central importance to affective and social science (eg, stress diathesis, neural compensation). We highlight recent schizotypy research, ie providing insight into the nature of affective and social systems more generally. This includes current efforts to clarify the neurodevelopmental, neurobiological, and psychological underpinnings of affiliative drives, hedonic capacity, social cognition, and stress responsivity systems. Additionally, we discuss neural compensatory and resilience factors that may mitigate the expression of stress-diathesis and functional outcome, and highlight schizotypy's potential role for understanding cultural determinants of social and affective functions.
